Rolex Tiffany Blue Dial Watches Ultimate Buying Guide

The Oyster Perpetual was one of the most talked about pre-owned Rolex watches of 2020. The collection, which hasn’t changed very drastically since coming to market in the 1950s, received a new case size, a new movement, and a new selection of vibrant lacquer dial colors seemingly inspired by the vintage Rolex Stella dials from the 1970s. Among the most popular of the new dial colors is the turquoise dial, which has already earned the nickname “Tiffany Blue” after its resemblance to the iconic jewelry retailer.

It’s a bright and refreshing iteration of the usually more subdued Oyster Perpetual, and it’s nearly impossible to find on the retail level. With other brands incorporating the timeless blue hue into their catalogs, such as Patek Philippe and Breitling, it’s no wonder that the Rolex Oyster Perpetual is such a success. What’s the story behind the new Rolex Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual? And where can you buy it? Let’s break it down.

What Is the Rolex Tiffany Blue Dial?

The 2020 Oyster Perpetual dials are a revival of the vintage Rolex Stella dials initially produced for the 4 and 5-digit Day-Date. The original dials featured bold and unusual high gloss colors such as oxblood, purple, red, orange, green, and blue. They earned their name after the Swiss dial manufacturer that produced them and were advertised by Rolex as “Lacquered Stella.” Vintage Stella dials were produced in very limited quantities between and 1970s and early 1990s and have since become a highly prized collector’s item on the secondary market.

Today, the modern Rolex Stella dials are made exclusively for the Oyster Perpetual series and include a balance of traditional and bright Stella-inspired colorways scattered throughout the different case size options. When the 2020 lineup first made its debut, colors included classic silver, blue, and black, and Stella-inspired coral red, green, candy pink, yellow, and turquoise blue – aka Tiffany blue. In a surprising move, Rolex completely discontinued the coral red and yellow dials and removed the Tiffany blue dial from the 41mm ref. 124300, after just a few short years on the market. The only Rolex watches still produced with the popular turquoise blue dial are the Oyster Perpetual 36 ref. 126000 and Oyster Perpetual 31 ref. 277200. 

How Much Is a Rolex Tiffany Blue Dial Watch?

The 2020 Rolex Stella dials were a massive success, selling out at authorized dealers worldwide. The Oyster Perpetual, once a go-to entry-level Rolex model, has now become one of the market’s most exclusive Rolex dress watches. The 41mm model, which retails for $6,150, now trades hands for well over $30k because of its newly-acquired status as a discontinued Rolex and its limited supply on the secondary market.

For comparison, the Oyster Perpetual 36 retails for $5,800 and commands anywhere between $15k and $20k. It isn’t unusual to see triple the retail price for these fashion-forward blue dial Rolex watches.

The New Oyster Perpetual 41

Rolex has adhered to the same classic aesthetic for nearly a century. However, the company has experimented with modern design choices in recent years to remain on-trend with the ever-changing market. That includes larger case sizes. Many of Rolex’s most popular models already sport bigger Oyster cases, including the Datejust 41 and Day-Date 40.

In 2020, Rolex upgraded the Submariner and Oyster Perpetual to 41mm case sizes, effectively retiring the Submariner 40 and the Oyster Perpetual 39. The OP collection also currently includes 36mm, 34mm, 31mm, and 28mm options, although not all of these models are outfitted with the lovely Tiffany blue dial. Still, there is no shortage of sizes to choose from when shopping for the perfect Oyster Perpetual for your wrist.

The New Rolex 3230 Movement

Caliber 3230 was also released in 2020, replacing the caliber 3130 that came to market in the early 2000s and bringing with it a longer 70-hour power reserve (compared to caliber 3130’s 48-hour power reserve), a more efficient Chronergy escapement, and increased resistance to magnetic fields. Rolex has since integrated the time-only movement into most of the dateless models in their portfolio, including the Explorer 36, No Date Submariner ref. 124060, and the brand-new Deepsea Challenge ref. 126067. 

Additionally, the 41mm and 36mm Oyster Perpetual use the caliber 3230, while the rest of the OP family relies on the smaller caliber 2232 movement – another new release for 2020. It features a 55-hour power reserve and a new Syloxi hairspring for greater anti-magnetism and better resistance to temperature variations and shocks.

Other Distinguishing Features

While Rolex has produced the Oyster Perpetual in gold and two-tone in the past, the current collection is only furnished in superior 904L-grade stainless steel – aka Oystersteel. Furthermore, regardless of case size, each model features a smooth bezel, three-link Oyster bracelet, folding Oysterclasp, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a Twinlock waterproof screw-down crown with a 100-meter depth rating.

The Tiffany blue dial Rolex has all the makings of a future cult classic. It’s hard to come by on the retail level and is unconventional by Oyster Perpetual’s standards. At the same time, the stainless steel finish is timeless, and the upgraded movement affords the wearer even more convenience than ever before. There is big news, and there is Rolex big news, and in some ways, ne'er the twain shall meet. At Baselworld this year, Rolex debuted a first for the company: the very first, ever, Rolex delivered on a rubber strap. Now, for most companies this would have little effect on watch enthusiasts other than to evoke (very) tepid interest at best, and boredom at worst – but this is not an ordinary rubber strap, this is an official, designed-and-tested-and-thoroughly-obsessed-over-by-Rolex rubber strap. And thereby hangs a tale.

The Yachtmaster, as we have mentioned in some of our previous coverage , occupies a somewhat particular place in Rolex’s lineup of sports watches; it shares water-resistance and a turning bezel with the Submariner (the latter is water resistant to 300 m while the Yachtmaster standard model is water resistant to 100 m). It is certainly not a tool watch; the Yachtmaster is offered in either platinum and steel, or gold and steel (that’s Rolesium and Rolesor, lest we forget) and is either quietly or unequivocally luxurious depending on what size and metal you go for (Rolex makes the Yachtmaster in both 35 mm and 40 mm sizes). 

The Yachtmaster’s history goes back to the first introduction of the watch in 1992, although the name, interestingly enough, appears on the dial of a prototype Yachtmaster Chronograph from the late 1960s (a watch so legendary I am actually forced to use the word; one of three known is in the collection of Mr. John Goldberger; we covered it – and a host of other remarkable ultra-rare watches from his collection – in a very memorable episode of Talking Watches ).

The term “Yachtmaster” is also, incidentally, used for a certificate of competency in yachting which is issued by the Royal Yachting Association, although we’re unaware of any specific association between the RYA and the Yachtmaster watch.

Now, this newest version of the Yachtmaster does take a few pages from the existing Yachtmaster playbook: 100-meter water resistance, a bidirectional turning bezel, and a dial and hands that echo the Submariner. There are also a couple of features that may make vintage Sub enthusiasts wonder if Rolex mightn’t have an exceedingly subtle sense of humor; the gilt coronet and “Rolex,” and the red lettering, both features which according to HODINKEE founder Ben Clymer would have, had they appeared on a Rolex dive watch, made it instantly the single most popular watch in the modern Rolex inventory. The case is rose gold – Rolex famously makes their own, called Everose, in their own foundry, with a bit of platinum mixed in to prevent discoloration – and the bezel, rather than being some other precious metal (as is the case in the “standard” Yachtmasters) is in black Cerachrom – a very technical-looking matte black that contrasts sharply with the gold case. Somehow, between the rose gold, the Cerachrom bezel, and the new Oysterflex bracelet this manages to be the most luxurious and at the same time most technical Yachtmaster yet (leaving aside the Yachtmaster II, which we recently reviewed right here , but that is a watch that marches to the beat of a different drummer entirely).

The two different versions of the Everose Yachtmaster (40 mm and 37 mm) sport different movements; the larger uses the caliber 3135 and the smaller, the newer 2236, which sports the “Syloxi” silicon balance spring (first used by Rolex in 2014).

The Oysterflex bracelet is, in a nutshell, quite a piece of work. One of the most endearing traits of Rolex as a company is that it tends to demonstrate what we can only describe as a laudable degree of corporate obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to research and development, and it does so, often, without making any sort of fanfare about it at all. In this case we do know a little bit about the Oysterflex, however – it is basically designed to have the hypoallergenic and comfort properties of a rubber strap and the durability and shape-retention properties of a bracelet. 

At the core of the Oysterflex bracelet are metal inserts made of titanium and nickel, which are used to affix the bracelet to the clasp and watch case; over those is a sheathing of “high-performance black elastomer.” “Elastomer” is a portmanteau word, formed from “elastic” and “polymer” and is a general term for natural and synthetic rubbers. In addition to the materials complexity of the Oysterflex bracelet, it is also shaped in a rather unusual fashion – there are ridges molded into the the wristward face of the bracelet, which are intended to allow the bracelet when worn to better approximate the natural curvature of the wrist.

They might look a bit odd but in practice, the design works out quite wonderfully; this is easily the most downright comfortable and organic-feeling rubber strap I have ever worn, and like the entire watch manages to be both extremely technical in feel, and very luxurious at the same time; I doubt whether any company has ever taken so much trouble over the design of a strap (for all that Rolex prefers the term “bracelet” in describing the Oysterflex, habit dies hard and you’ll probably find yourself calling it a strap, just as we did). On the wrist, the two stabilizing ridges do exactly what they are supposed to: keep the watch from shifting, as heavier watches on rubber straps are wont to do, without requiring you to have the strap uncomfortably tight. The Everose Oysterlock clasp does a superb job mechanically and also looks fabulous into the bargain; the quality of finish on the clasp and case may not seem terribly elaborate at first, but it is as technically flawless as anything I have ever seen at any price, on any watch.

What we have here, in other words, is a very Rolex interpretation of luxury. Yes, this is a gold watch, and a gold Rolex, and wearing a gold Rolex always carries with it, shall we say, certain semiotic complexities. However there is also another side to the watch, and to the Rolex approach to luxury in general: the taking of such pains to produce technical perfection that technical perfection becomes a luxury in itself.

Rolex Tiffany: The dial color that picked the most attention

Some of the best things in the world are born from simplicity. Rolex Oyster Perpetual line is a true example of that statement. Rolex released the 41mm Oyster Perpetual in 2020. It was added to the Rolex OP portfolio alongside the 36, 34, 31, and 28mm versions. It allowed users with bigger wrists to go for something that looked a little small. With the new size, Rolex introduced seven color options. One of these dial colors was the all-new Turquoise Blue dial.

The same-colored dial was also introduced in the 36mm and 31mm models. While it did quite well for the 41mm and 36mm variants, it could have done better for the 31mm version. Rolex Tiffany 41mm picked up right after the Swiss watch manufacturer discontinued the model. As for the 36mm, the demand for that size has been increasing in the Oyster Perpetual line.

Why an Oyster Perpetual

Though no one knows why Rolex chose the Oyster Perpetual for this special dial color, a few things are understandable here. Oyster Perpetual is a simple yet elegant line up of watches. It does what it has been designed to do, and it does it right. The watch does not feature any complications and features a clean dial design.

The watch goes well with a suit and even looks great when paired with a t-shirt and jeans. The Turquoise Blue dial just added the extra flare to the watch making it even more desirable than it already is.

What’s so special about the dial

Rolex Tiffany dial picked up its popularity from the resemblance to the color of the brand Tiffany & Co. Besides that factor, the color also pops. When kept beside other color options, this one stands out. Yes, it takes away the simplicity but gives elegance in exchange.

Tiffany Blue Rolex Price: A roller coaster ride

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Tiffany has seen a significant increase in pricing. This is all due to the discontinuation of a certain variation of the watch. While some variations are still in stock, it is just hard to get hold of them. Given that one of them has just been discontinued, the whole Rolex Tiffany pricing has been a roller coaster ride.

The Oyster Perpetual 41mm reference 124300 is available in several colors. The Tiffany dial is by far the most popular among watch collectors and enthusiasts. It resulted in a premium on the Tiffany blue Rolex price in Dubai . While the Rolex Tiffany 41 retailed at around AED 25,650, the watch was selling in the secondary market somewhere between AED 35,000 to AED 45,000.

Over the period, the price of the Rolex Tiffany started going up gradually. In 2021, the watch exchanged hands for around AED 60,000 to AED 70,000. As soon as Rolex announced the discontinuation of the timepiece, the price just skyrocketed.  At one point, the timepiece was selling for around AED 120,000 in the second-hand market.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm Tiffany

Even though the Rolex Tiffany 36mm is still available in the Oyster Perpetual lineup, it is going for a premium in the market. At Rolex UAE , the timepiece retails for a price of around AED 21,000. But due to the huge demand, there is a long waitlist to get one via the retail stores. And as it is well-known among the Rolex community, you also need a good-relation ship with the dealer to stand a chance to get on the waitlist.

Coming back to economics, this has yet again proven that low supply and huge demand result in the rise of prices. Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm Turquoise Blue dial is currently selling in the range of AED 58,000 to AED 62,000. At the time of writing this, the watch market has taken quite a hit and the prices have rather fallen down. At one point, this watch exchanged hands for around AED 75,000.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 31mm Tiffany

Rolex Tiffany gained all the attention over the internet with its Turquoise Blue color reminding people of the Tiffany & Co brand. With that being said, even a 31mm variant went up in price. Since women have started shifting towards bigger sizes, the demand of 36mm versions have increased. It has also resulted in a decrease in the demand for 31mm and 28mm versions. Nevertheless, the 31mm Tiffany still gained some premium in the secondary market.

It is a watch that retails for a price of around AED 20,000. It is currently selling in the second-hand market for roughly AED 40,000 nearly doubling people’s investment in the watch. At one point, the watch even sold for an amount close to AED 47,000.

Rolex Tiffany Oyster Perpetual: A worthwhile investment?

So far, the Oyster Perpetual Tiffany dial has proven to be one of the best investment options among all the recently released Rolex watches . Unlike something like a Rolex Wimbledon or a Rolex Pepsi , the OP Tiffany has managed to go up in value quite significantly. People who managed to buy the Rolex OP 41mm Turquoise Blue got nearly 4 times the return on their investment. Even the people who got their hands on the 36mm and the 31mm variants made some profit out of it.

As these Tiffany dial watches are still popular among watch enthusiasts and collectors, they are expected to go further up in value in the near future.

Rolex Tiffany does not exist!

That seems like a pretty bold statement after talking about the extremely hyped-up Oyster Perpetual. Believe it or not, it is the truth. Rolex Tiffany is not an official name given by the brand. It is a nickname being used for a watch that is officially known as the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Turquoise Blue dial.

Rolex Tiffany Blue: Story behind the name

The color of the dial was reminiscent of the Turqoiusie Blue color used by the Tiffany & Co. brand. It would have been a Rolex Tiffany only if it had the jeweler’s stamp on the dial. It is something that you can see on the Patek Philippe Nautilus Tiffany. The watch not only uses the Tiffany Blue color but also gets the brand’s stamp on its dial.

The two brands, Patek and Tiffany, have had a rich partnership history, and the Nautilus 5711 Tiffany Blue was an honor to that 170-year partnership. The 5711 is already a highly sought-after timepiece that has now been discontinued. Adding the Tiffany Blue flavor to it just made it even more desirable.

It got a lot of attention, especially due to the fact that the Swiss manufacturer was going to make only 170 pieces of that watch. With a retail price of around AED 195,000, the watch seeked a lot of attention. However, due to the limited availability, people were ready to pay any price to get it from the secondary market. That is when one of these pieces got sold for a whopping AED 23.8 million.

Right about that time, Rolex announced the launch of the Turquoise Blue Dial Oyster Perpetual. While the Patek watch was unattainable, Rolex offered a similar-looking dial for just around AED 25,000 retail.

Rolex Tiffany: Sky-rocketing prices

Tiffany Blue color is very attractive, and on an elegant timepiece like the Oyster Perpetual, the color glorified it even more. Since it was not easy to get hands-on one through the retail store, the prices of the Tiffany Blue dial Oyster Perpetual started rising in the secondary market. People were willing to pay the premium just to get ahead of the queue and get the watch with the exquisite dial.

While the prices were already hiked in the second-hand market, they just shot up as soon as the 41mm variant got discontinued. Even though the 36mm was still available, it is the bigger dial that most people prefer. There was a point where people were paying as much as four times its sticker price. Even today, a Rolex Tiffany Blue 41mm will set you back at least AED 100,000 in the secondary market.

Just had dinner at Aist in Moscow, really charming place, beautiful people, inspiring stories, women where super nicely dressed, we wondered if it was for the film festival or this is the myth about how groomed Russian women are. Food was good overall but what is not to miss are the cocktails and the khatchaburi! A kind of Russian heavy cheezy melty delicious pie! A real treat. The terasse on the roof is as charming, but you'd miss the action of the street around and the pople coming in and out, the golden Bentleys, the blue Rolls Royces, summer in the city of Moscow has never been more glamorous and trendy. Nice music, apparently they also host DJ's on certain nights. Service was great. Prices on the high side. But definetly a must. We we were visiting Moscow and staying at the Marco Polo and came across this restaurant down the street, where we saw Mercedes, Bentleys, a Ferrari, and decide to have early dinner where the beautiful Russia that were driving these cars were dining. We started out with a Russian beer and Vodka and also order a La Mode a drink with crushed ice lemon, oranges, strawberries.Very Pricey! It was excellent, on a hot evening, but very pricey. We ended up having dinner and ordered the fish that excellent cook perfectly. Beautiful people came and went so did the cars. The seafood was excellent so were the drinks. If you want a night of pleasure go to this restaurant. We had a excellent table for people watching, expensive car watching, good food. Expensive wine. Worth going again the next night!

excellent place to hang out in summer, especially the roof terrace in summer is somewhat unreal for Moscow, cool and fancy and lots of green around, and this in the very very center not far from pushkinskaya. kitchen is cool too, not cheap though)) and very nice cocktails .... expect no chance to grab a table on hot summer days

Served us warm oysters. And this was after the server had to check with the kitchen to see if there remained an of these delights. That evening I awaited the gastro surprise, but nothing happened...whew! Grilled octopus was inferior to that at Brix Wine Bar and twice as expensive. Downstairs, with all the smoke was packed. Upstairs, with the clean air, was empty. We sat upstairs with a view to the open kitchen. Wine selection is what I have learned to expect in Moscow, limited selection of reasonably priced wines, limited selection of outrageously priced wines. Very pretty place with attentive staff. I ordered the chef's special for that night, the roasted quail with spinach and it was dried out tough and unappealing. I wonder if the same kitchen serves downstairs and upstairs...because the folks downstairs seem to be having lots of fun while the two upstairs were looking at an evening of the Moscow restaurant formula: big investments in the interior, but not in the food... Bummer

It is always a fantastic dining experience, from both socializing and having absolutely amazing dining experience. Fish is great, but probably the best borsch soup I ever tried

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.

The Yacht-Master 42, made from RLX titanium, is fitted on an Oyster bracelet. Developed at the end of the 1930s, this three-piece link bracelet remains the most universal in the Oyster Perpetual collection and is known for its robustness.

The Oyster bracelet of this new version of the Yacht-Master 42 features the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. It is also equipped with the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. The Oyster bracelet in RLX titanium also includes patented ceramic inserts – designed by the brand – inside the links to enhance its flexibility on the wrist and its longevity.
