The tour was around 3 hours with 2 swim stops, one of which was on a beach that had food/drink! The captain, Denis, was brilliant! Super funny and informative. We did see a turtle just after leaving the dock which was incredible! We booked with Seacret Holidays in Tsilivi, the transfer picked us up from our hotel and we got to Laganas in around 40 mins - the minibus was a bit cramped and rickety but got us there and back in one piece. Basically, I booked this cruise to go with my friends and the main reason why we chose this cruise price (as you can find cheaper online with pretty much similar stops/visits) was the maximum number of travellers stated (see attached screenshot taken from Tripadvisor for Caretta - Caretta Turtle Trip (Boat Trip). Let me inform you that the boat capacity was around 85 people (x8 times bigger than what was advertised). INDEED, we were in the boat with nearly that many people (the boat was packed) and of course, nobody gave us a decent explanation, apologised, or/and offered a refund for the inconvenience caused.... So we needed some flexibility in our plan. We were collected in a minibus (driver was very helpful) and taken to the harbour, directly onto our own boat. The captain was appropriately safety conscious with us before we started. We had an amazing tour first seeing turtles. Our captain seemed as concerned for the safety of the turtles and their environment as our enjoyment which was important to us. Some of the other boats were less concerned with the welfare of the sea life and some of the other boats were clearly over crowded with people who could not see. I am so glad we made the right choice of company and captain. We saw the blue caves, trip to turtle island, took a swim in a cove and motored the boat back (which the kids loved) Safety and environmentally conscious, very knowledgable and great fun. Our excursions strictly employ small boats : for Shipwreck Beach and the Blue Caves we use boats up to 50 seats , for the Marine Park/Keri Caves and turtle spotting, we employ boats up to 24 seats and finally for the Marine Park/Mizithres sea stacks we use boats up to 34 seats .

For groups and agencies, we can also provide larger boats (up to 140 passengers).

Shipwreck Beach is the most photographed spot and most famous beach in Zakynthos. We organize 2 types of excursions: the Northern Coast Tour and Western Coast tour . All our excursions include a one-hour swim stop at Shipwreck Beach and other swim stops based on the selected tour. You can choose to book one of our boat excursions that do not include transportation to the departure port, or a Minivan Tour or Jeep Tour with pick-up directly at your hotel or residence.

The Zakynthos Marine Park offers the opportunity to watch Loggerhead (Caretta-Caretta) turtles swim in their natural habitat and visit charming coves with pristine waters. We organize 2 types of tours: the 24-passenger catamaran tour and the 34-passenger boat tour to the Mizithres sea stacks . Depending on the selected excursion, our Welcometozante Marine Park tours include swim stops at Marathonisi Island and Keri Caves or to the Mizithres sea stacks , ideal snorkeling sites.

Your first stop on the VIP tour Shipwreck Bay and Blue Caves boat trip will be at the enchanting harbor of Agios Nicolas. Next on the itinerary of our boat excursion , is a boat trip into the beautiful Blue Caves of Zakynthos. Our Nefis Travel Zakynthos speedboat has the ability to safely enter the Blue Caves of Zante . We stop to take photos of the sea caves and arches, as well as the stunning translucent blue waters. Those who wish to fully experience the phenomenon of the Blue Caves can take a dip in the blue waters. Your whole body takes on the blue hues and everyone enjoys photographing all the swimming "blue Smurfs"! Don’t worry though, this is just an optical illusion and the blue hue will disappear once out of the water. By the time you return to land at the picturesque harbour of Agios Nicolas, you will be ready for lunch. For those of you that want to sit and enjoy the spectacular views while enjoying some refuelling, we have found an exceptional local Taverna. The turquoise blue sea here contains traces of sulphur and collagen. The sulphur and collagen pours down from the mountains into the sea and has been proven to offer significant health benefits. Please be aware:

• Please be aware that the most recent announcement made by the municipality of Zakynthos prohibits us from landing on the Shipwreck beach this year. This decision has been made as a result of the landslide in 2018 in combination with the large number of visitors expected on our island this summer season. Despite not being able to land on the beach, we are allowed to sail into the bay and take pictures at a short distance from a wonderful, empty beach! This will nonetheless create a 'wow' feeling to mother nature at its best.

In the last four years, we have been in the same situation twice and have successfully amended our tour program accordingly. Our alternative program consists of sailing into the bay to take beautiful pictures of an empty Shipwreck beach, a swim stop at another beautiful bay on the West side of Zakynthos as well as additional time at the enchanting Blue Caves. The amended program offered has always been received with much joy and satisfied feedback from our guests and many even perceived the view of an empty beach as a bonus!

• As we enter Shipwreck bay before the masses arrive (note: early in the morning the beach will have limited sun), you will have the opportunity to take pictures of a beautiful, empty(!) beach with little to no other boats around you.

Useful information:

• The Shipwreck and Blue Caves boat trip consists of a 3 hour speedboat tour with 2 swim stops.

• We will stop for lunch. The lunch is not included in the price, but it’s allowed to bring your own packed lunch, which can be consumed at the beach next to the restaurant.

• Xingia beach is a bit of the beaten track please be aware that it involves steps to be taken, towards the sea spa.

• We visit Xingia bay after lunch, meaning by bus from the road side not by boat.

• The beaches we will visit are stony so please think about your foot wear!

• As this tour involves taking steps, walking down towards Xingia bay and getting in and out a speedboat, we do not recommend this tour for our guests with mobility problems.

Amazing day! The gorgeous sunrise was well worth getting up early for . To almost have shipwreck beach to ourselves in the morning was fabulous. Swimming in the blue caves is a must, and the spa beach was a gorgeous end to the day. Well worth the price and now looking for our next excursion for next year. We will definitely recommend nefis x

I messaged the company hoping to book the VIP tour with my children ( and friends we met on holiday). Jackie responded straight away… unfortunately they were fully booked but put on an extra tour, which meant we could go after all. Someone came to our hotel and gave us the tickets (so easy and they went out of their way). Already we were impressed… nothing was too much trouble! We were collected bright and early, nikkos our tour guide was full of information and the trip to the boat was very picturesque. The speed boat was fab… shipwreck was lovely and we were so pleased of the early start, as got there before the large boats arrived and had a quick swim. The skipper also was fun and full of facts about the blue caves/monastery. Such a beautiful day. We swam in the caves and had a great time jumping off the boat. (The only negative …if there was one, was the smoking on the boat..but I appreciate that’s a personal choice) Lovely lunch back on land (and an iced mythos) and then onto the natural spa. We had an amazing day… really was a highlight and I would absolutely recommend Nefis as a company, the personal touch was second to none. Our next trip will be to see the turtles x

We were picked up early 7.25 in the morning to beat the crowds from the bigger boats and arrive to just a handful people on the beach this was brilliant as enabling us to take some fantastic photographs having a smaller boat meant that the boat could actually enter the the blue caves for us to take pictures as well lunch stop with a view and quick service then on to a beach 2 swims top on the boat as well very well organised trip great tour guide and boat captain really enjoyed the trip would definitely recommend this to anyone.

After returning from Tsilivi one of the 1st things I want to do is recomend Nefis’s VIP shipwreck tour to anybody who stumbles upon this website. We went on the trip and it was fantastic, you get to swim in caves, visit the shipwreck before the crowds and experience the sulphur beach (which made my skin feel amazing)! The trip was well worth the price and we couldn’t of asked for a better guide, Jackie. Jackie knows anything and everything about Zante and was very interesting to listen to, such a nice lady. The year before my boyfriend and I booked to visit the shipwreck with one of the office’s that use the larger boats. We didn’t get to see it because the water was too rough. This was an absolutely fantastic trip, we took our two teenage sons who enjoyed the trip equally. The early start was well worth it getting to the shipwreck beach before all the other boats carrying 100’s of people. Our group travelled by two speedboats (a thrill in inself). The colour of the sea at the Shipwreck beach was such a beautiful turquouise colour we were totally mesmorized! The lads particularly enjoyed the swim stop at the Blue Caves. The taverna we stopped at for breakfast/refreshments and later for lunch was in a superb spot with beautiful views overlooking the sea, the food was excellent too. Stopping at the sulphur/collagen beach on the way home was also a highlight, a lovely setting, very picturesque, and we all tried the body scrubbing, which did feel good! Thank you for an absolutely wonderful trip Jackie and co, we would definitely do a repeat of this exact trip if (hopefully when) we return to beautiful Zakynthos.

Will you pick me up from my holiday resort?

Yes, we have pick up transfers from nearly all the Zakynthos resorts but please keep in mind that South Vassilkos and the Harbour of Keri are remote areas in Zakynthos. We will do our very best to give you the pickup service transfer with a small extra cost, but we do ask cooperation in being flexible with the days and cannot guarantee a pick up from these areas.

Can I participate in the VIP tours, with my rental car?

You can join our boat trips with your rental car. You can book tickets by email or through our booking form and meet us at the port where we will board our Shipwreck and Blue Caves tour and the Turtle Spotting tour. In this way you have the freedom of your own transport and you will enjoy arriving at the Shipwreck bay before the crowds, see the turtles in an eco-friendly way and help the turtles in their fight for survival.

How do I book a tour?

You can book your tours by email, Whats App or at our Nefis Travel Zakynthos facebook page by personal messages. You can also use our website’s booking form to send a booking request for your desired tour and date.

Please keep in mind that our office is open between 9 AM - 10:30 PM. We will answer your email within 24 hours. If you wish to make an urgent booking because you are already on the island, please contact us directly on +30 2695048004, +30 6987746506 or +30 6984534687 numbers to avoid a delay in your booking.

For our tours we have different pickup routings, to keep the transfers as short as possible. We kindly ask to be flexible with the preferable days of your tours.

How can I pay?

You can pay upon arrival at the ticket delivery service on your arrival day, one of our team members will come to your holiday address to take care of it all. You can pay by Credit Card in the offices in Tsilivi or by signing an Authorized Credit Card form. If you have an IBAN number then you can also easily pay into our bank account. If you pay by Credit Card or bank account, we will send the tickets to you by email with the explanation of where the pick-up point for the tours will be. The choice is yours.

Are the tours child friendly and what is considered child age?

Our child age is normally 12 years old, but we can be flexible on our "VIP Eco-friendly turtle spotting" tour and "Back to the roots" minibus island tour, if families are travelling with teenagers.

On our VIP "Once upon a time" tour the children and young at heart will step back in time and by interactive stories will enter the world of Aesop and his enchanting and inspiring stories. They will learn a little Greek poem and while we sit around the camp fire singing songs, you might drift away to your own childhood memories… On our VIP Eco-friendly turtle spotting tour , we will have a presentation from the Sea Protection Society Archelon where the children will learn about the high endangered Caretta - Caretta Turtles and in a pirate game they will also learn a few facts about Odysseus while looking for the treasure. At our VIP "Back to the roots" tour they will hear a few nice short Greek mythology stories and see and learn how Zakynthian olive oil and local sweet are made. They can sing along with the live music over lunch and the tour has many stops, what means that they will be out and about and entertaint the whole day. Many of our little Nefis friends have send us beautiful drawings, from this unique tour afterwards. At our VIP Shipwreck and Blue Caves tour the children might see dolphins or our Monachus Monachus seals and get guided with nice stories about Zante. On certain days they will be able to enter a pirate game at the Smugglers Cove, please do ask about this opportunity! Our family tours are designed to spark a passion, inspire a sense of wonder, and enrich understanding.

Do you have a Book Now - Pay Later policy?

With Nefis Travel you can indeed enjoy the freedom to choose a tour now and pay later! Our unique customer service is created for your convenience. We will organize a ticket delivery service on your arrival day at your holiday accommodation, where the payment can be done (as long as you arrive at least 24 hours before the departure of the tour). If you are staying in Planos – Tsilivi, we then kindly ask to pick up your tickets in one of the 2 Nefis Travel offices close to your accommodation. For guests staying on a far distance, a payment in advance will be requested.

Do you have group discounts?

We can indeed look into a tailor-made discount for groups.

Is lunch included on the tours? May I bring a lunch box?

Lunch is not included on any of the Nefis Travel tours, but our dear Nefis Travel guests are more than welcome to bring their lunch boxes on the tours.

What happens if the sea conditions are not okay for a tour?

We at Nefis Travel provide the highest level of customer service given on the island. If the weather reports are bad, we will cancel the tours and give you a refund. If the weather shows a 50-50 situation, we will phone you on your mobiles or at the hotels before the tour starts and tell you that we might have to use an alternative program. This only happens on the Shipwreck and Blue Caves tours. The east coast of the island as in Blue Caves and Xingia Sea Spa and the west coast as in Shipwreck beach is possible to have 2 totally different sea conditions. Our captains will check the situation early in the morning and if we see that the Blue Caves and Xingia Spa, east coast are okay but around cape Skinari on our way to the west coast, the sea doesn’t allow us to go to the Shipwreck beach, we will create Plan B: Plan B: We will go to the Shipwreck platform by bus so you'll see the Shipwreck from above and we will offer extra time at the Blue Caves for pictures and swimming, and go to the Xingia Sea Spa after our lunch stop. We will tell you honestly what the situation is and leave the choice to you. You can swap your trip around and go on another day, take a refund or decide to come. From our experience those who came on these few rare days that this happens in the summer, still had a great day out. And as we said it is a 50-50 situation sometimes the wind drops, while we drive to the harbor and we can still sail to the Shipwreck beach. We at Nefis Travel just want to be as straight forward about as we can be and will always be honest about the weather conditions.

What to expect

Searching for loggerhead turtles and dolphins in their natural habitat is the aim of the game on this half-day cruise geared for children. You'll set sail for Marathonisi Island, anchoring up for swimming along the way, before gaining an insight into local conservation efforts. You'll cast off from Agios Sostis towards pine-clad Marathonisi Island in Laganas Bay. This uninhabited islet is nicknamed ‘Turtle Island' because its beaches are a favourite nesting site for the loggerheads. Kids will love this one, too – there'll be activities aimed at teaching them more about turtle conservation. They'll also learn about respecting the island's environment, protecting it from litter.

Next, you'll swing by the Oasis sea cave for a swim stop before heading closer to the island. We'll drop anchor once more for an extra dose of snorkelling. Remember to keep an eye on the water for signs of loggerhead turtles and dolphins. What's more, the boat has an integrated sewage drainage system, so nothing harms the sea.

Loggerhead sea turtles have been residents of Zante's beaches for thousands of years, and with a bit of luck, you'll see them first-hand on this boat trip. Bianca, one of our guides, says, ‘In just one trip, you get to jump into clear waters, discover the small fishing village of Keri and, with luck, see turtles.'Available either in the morning from Zante harbour or the afternoon from Keri harbour, this half-day cruise is a real treat for all the family. You'll pass by the golden beaches of Vassilikos and Marathonisi, a pine-clad islet dubbed ‘Turtle Island'. The reason's simple – one of its beaches is a favourite turtle nesting site. Bianca, who's lived on Zante for more than 20 years, says of the scenery, ‘You can do this tour a thousand times and every day is different.' Be sure to keep a lookout for loggerheads, and you may even spot a wild dolphin or two.Plus, you'll sail along the Keri peninsula, cruising by its sea-plunging cliffs, caves and lighthouse before dropping anchor for a swim stop. In the small fishing village of Keri, you can shop for souvenirs, relax in a typical taverna or hit the beach. What's more, a volunteer from local conservation group ARCHELON – the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece – will be on board to tell give you the lowdown on its work.

Smuggler's Cove Half-day Cruise with Panoramic Drive

Smuggler's Cove is a picture-postcard white pebble beach with a surprise – a shipwreck from an alleged smuggler who ran aground here in the early 80s. On this half-day boat trip, you'll cruise along the coast to see this famous spot, discover secret coves, swim and soak up the scenery. Kay, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Smuggler's Cove is also known as Shipwreck Beach, or “Navagio” in Greek. It's only accessible by boat, and it's one of the most photographed places in the whole of Greece.'After pick-up, enjoy a scenic drive to Porto Vromi – it takes up to 90 minutes – and hop on a boat towards Smuggler's Cove. You'll have half an hour or so to take in the vistas from the deck before the imposing white cliffs appear, sheltering the cove and its famous wreck. The 200-metre-high cliffs curve and swoop down behind the beach, dwarfing the shipwreck. Kay says, ‘To preserve the natural beauty of the area, instead of disembarking at Smuggler's cove, we'll pause here to admire the scenery and take a few Insta-perfect snaps.'Next, your captain will drop anchor at a nearby bay, and you'll have time to swim in the dazzling waters surrounded by Zante's coastal landscapes. Then, as we cruise back towards Porto Vromi, your captain will take you to a white-pebbled beach, a place so secret it doesn't even show up on Google. Cool off with a swim stop here and hear the story of the 'Poseidon's Face' – a rock formation believed to depict Poseidon, God of the sea – before setting off for the final leg back to shore.

Northern Zante Cruise with Cape Skinari and Xigia Beach

This cruise around the northern tip of Zante serves up plenty of camera-friendly scenery and swim stops in hidden coves. You'll see stretches of the island's most mesmerising coastline, including the Blue Caves and Smuggler's Cove – that famous Greek postcard of the rusting cargo ship on a pristine cliff-ringed beach. Chrissy, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The sea around the Blue Caves seems to glow electric blue because the white limestone underwater reflects the sun through the azure water.' You'll get to catch Zante's top coastal draws in one relaxing boat trip. We'll scoot around Cape Skinari, famed for its lighthouse, cliffs, windmills and pastel-blue water. After about two hours at sea, we'll reach Smuggler's Cove. Back in the 80s, a ship carrying contraband cigarettes ran aground in this chalk-white, pebbly cove. Nowadays, in order to preserve the area, the beach itself is closed to visitors, however you'll still see the iconic views from the boat. Chrissy adds, ‘Zante's best-known beach is only accessible by boat and it's one of the most photographed spots in the whole of Greece. A crime gone wrong has left us with an unexpected treasure.'After a dip, you'll continue to the shimmering Blue Caves, where we'll pause for a photo stop. Carved into the cliffs, the sea-smoothed walls form arches over the dazzling blue waters. You'll have Greek snacks and drinks on board, followed by some time anchored at Xigia beach. We'll end the cruise on a high note with some entertainment – Greek dancing – as we bob back to shore.
