Came with a friend for out book club meeting. My friend is a member of the club, it was a nice treat. Food is good, drinks are yum! The view is so nice and a great vibe. Enjoy the sunset and good company.
Really nice Yacht Club in Coconut Grove! I met some friends there last weekend for a boat outing and had a great time.. they do have visitor parking, a great waterfront restaurant with delicious cocktails & bites. Marina access was hassle free!
Ducked in this evening for a Celebration of Life Ceremony for a fine and generous Gentleman of fine repute by the name of Robert "Bob" Detchon. Rest in Peace, Bob. I have visited this well run operation many, many times. I am 53 years old and one of my very longtime friends whom I don't get to see enough kept his sailboat here for many, many moons. Oh the trips we took to Key Biscayne or Sundays on the Bay. Smells like teen spirit. The name of the boat was "Confusion." I won't name him because I don't have permission. I have not been inside the gates since well before the Y2K ruckus and have never seen the big, sturdy, epic, new building that is on the right side, the one with the rooftop lounge where this event was held. Kudos to management / ownership on maintaining the charm and personality of the place and finding the ideal spot to place needed infrastructure expansion. Excellent service. Cabeza OUT!

We were fortunate to be invited to CRYC after helping out with Race Committee for an event in Coconut Grove. We spent some time in the bar and then sat in the Dining Room and were treated wonderfully by the staff. What an exquisite view and exemplary service. We had almost all of your menu between appetizers, main course, and deserts where we all shared as well. The fish and chips were wonderful. Conch fritters incredible. Loved the New York Strip and the rib appetizer. We were treated to house made ice cream with brandy I think and a cookie. WOW! Can't wait to come back!

Joined some friends for another friends bday. Great crowd of really nice people. Very clean and organised. The food was good and the staff was absolutely amazing. CRYC is one of the only places I've seen that's fully staffed post Covid. I'm assuming this is because they treat and pay their staff well. The staff was exceptional. They were extremely polite and attentive to everyone. Very nice and relaxed evening.
I absolutely love Coral Reef Yacht Club. I've been going there since I was a kid and my husband and I incorporated it into our wedding events. The atmosphere is always nice, the view is unbelievable, the food is great - there really is nothing bad I can say about it. I also love the annual Christmas events, where Santa arrives on a boat, takes pictures with the kids, and gives them gifts, and the kids decorate gingerbread houses while they wait to see Santa. Halloween on the docks also is a great event.

Enjoyed sailing here. Great race committee. I liked the bar overlooking the pool and wet slips.

Top of the line. We spent the day at the club as a guest. I was really impressed with the service and facilities. The Fourth of July celebrations at the club were fantastic. The fireworks show was great too. I would recommend checking out the club if you are interested in a family friendly yacht club.
Having the best 4th of July!
Great location. Pretty setting. Lovely pool overlooking marina. Nice restraunts. Showers & lounge area clean & well kept. I would definitely visit again on my travels.
A Miami Classic! While visiting Miami, a friend (member) took us for dinner at the Yardarm Bar. Met several very friendly locals. Some 3rd and 4th generation Miami families. Apparently unusual for Miami. Started the evening with a signature rum punch and conch chowder with a dash of sherry. Both were excellent! Our entree of grouper was fresh and very tasty. Finished of with a unique but simple spiced ice cream dish called "brandy ice". We were content to say the least. Fortunately it was a short walk past the palm tree lined pool, out the dock and onto the boat for moonlight cruise. These people have it made! Thanks again CRYC for the experience!

Welcome to MIAMI SAILING WEEK 2023
The most anticipated multi-class regatta in Miami will take place from March 18 to 19, 2023.
MSW is the largest Spring Regatta in Miami and is run by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club at Regatta Park in sunny Coconut Grove in Miami.
Miami Sailing Week was established in 2010 with the goal in mind of creating a fun-filled week of activities related to the sport of sailing that we all love very much. Through the years we accomplished many of our goals and the event became a capstone of Miami’s regatta season. Along the way, we worked with many different one-design classes, the waterfront community, talented artists, and benefitted several charitable organizations.
Our vision is to continue the positive trend and further expand the event in 2023 with returning and new classes. We would also like to welcome back our sponsors that through their commitment enhance the regatta for everyone.
Star Winter Series
Star winter sailing – done right.
The Stars Come Out In Winter
The history of the International Star Class is perhaps the richest of any racing keelboat in the world, and much of that history has been written in South Florida. It’s now time to update that history with a new classic – the Star Winter Series .
For half a century, the world’s best sailors have brought their “Starboats” (as their crews call them) down to the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay for the best in competition and ambiance in one of the world’s premiere sailing and vacation destinations.
With the Olympic Era over (for now), used Stars are a great value for sailors looking for a fabulously rewarding boat to sail in a class with legendary competition. A stunning performer in all conditions, the Star is a surprisingly good value for any two-person team, and with one of the sport’s best-organized Classes, boats hold their value exceedingly well. For a wealth of information on the history and design of the Star, check the Star Class website.
Beginning in 2012, Starboat owners and crews will be able to show off their Stars during the inaugural Star Winter Series (SWS). Four weekends plus the 4-day Star Midwinter Championship makes the SWS the most intense winter series anywhere, designed to maximum racing time while minimizing hassle and expense.
Store your boat all winter long just meters from host Coral Reef Yacht Club , and get up to 20 days of sailing between November and March. There’s easy launch, easy haul access and assistance with every step of the process up to a full concierge service – you decide. Stay at a five-star spa or an economy hotel – you have the luxury of both in nearby Coconut Grove.
The Stars come out in winter. You should be here, too.

New Cape Coral Yacht Club designs: Most on council like a coastal, Key West vibe
Given three different design options for the new Yacht Club Community Center , most of the Cape Coral City Council is leaning toward a coastal, Key West-flavor architecture.
At a committee of the whole meeting on Wednesday, the city sought direction from the council on a design direction for the outside of the community building.
"It's a concept, just like we do with anything else, and as we are designing, things may come up that we want to shift and be nimble (on)," said Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn.
James Pankonin with Kimley Horn, a consulting firm focusing on public and private developments, presented the information about the look of the community building.
Cape Coral's Yacht Club Community Park, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has been a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s but is set to undergo major renovations after Hurricane Ian delayed the original plans .
The current plans include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new resort-style pool.
The city is also preparing for the demolition of the Yacht Club and its facilities in April as it awaits permits.
No estimates could be provided for the price of the new building.
"It will really come into how much of certain materials are needed and construction methods," Ilczyszyn said.
The city will have that information once they have 30% of the construction design.
Two public meetings for the designs are planned for April 2 and May 7.
After getting public input, the city will vote to amend its contract with Kimley Horn to approve all these changes.
The plan is to have these changes approved or introduced before the summer hiatus.

New Designs for the Yacht Club building
John Bryant with Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, a Sarasota-based design firm, said the goal with the new designs was to maintain the experience of the original Yacht Club.
The majority of the council preferred option one.
Design one:
Bryant described the first option as "coastal vernacular" and similar to the park buildings at Lake Kennedy and Yellow Fever Creek.
"So it's sort of informed by the current architectural work in 2024," Bryant said. "Kinda Key West."
Councilmember Dan Sheppard and Mayor John Gunter preferred option one.
Gunter said the design was the most pleasing for him.
Councilmember Keith Long liked option one and said he liked the Key West aesthetic.
Councilmember Tom Hayden liked option one.
Design two:
Option two is more informed by the current Yacht Club and would have a stone base and mid-century feel to it, according to Bryant.
"There's certainly opportunity to kind of further develop this option to have even more of the existing Yacht Club feel, but a different vibe, feel than option one," Bryant said.
He also said option two might be more expressive the closer they try to recreate the aesthetic of the old ballroom building.
Councilmember Jessica Cosden liked design two as it incorporated design elements of the old building though she lamented how similar it looked to the first design.
"I wish we could have done more, but I know it's hard with a two-story building, to make it look the same as a very unique one-story building.
Councilmember Bill Steinke said two would be his choice as well, but was wary of additional maintenance of natural wood products used in the design.
"As long as we can bring that aesthetic and keep the maintenance down, number two would be my choice," Steinke said.
Councilmember Robert Welsh said he could go either way, but he liked the look of two.
Design three:
This would be more contemporary and modern.
"Even with a more contemporary language, you can still have warmth, incorporating some wood elements and stone elements," Bryant said.
None of the council members expressed any favorability for the third design.
Inside the new community center
The Community Center will have an additional 10,000 square feet for a total of 47,000 square feet, a history room to remember the first ballroom building on the first floor, and more rooms for civic and community use on the first floor.
Additionally, the new ballroom has shifted slightly as the balcony area on the second floor has been expanded to wrap around the top of the building.

Council approves design for Cape Coral Yacht Club
- RELATED: Council will review new design plans for Yacht Club
The first option had a “Key West, old Florida” architectural style. The second option was based on the existing yacht club building, and the third option was a contemporary architectural design.
Some people in Cape Coral raised concerns about the parking garage and financing the project.
