The exterior needs new topside paint and varnish. The interior could use some detailing as well. just need significant maintenance to bring it back to great condition as described above. The twin diesel engines are very economical and reliable, and some electrical components have been replaced and updated. The fuel tanks were replaced in 2020. There is a nice array of redundant navigation and communication systems, including a radar system providing assurances for safe travels. Stock #393125 Charming Grand Banks 36 Trawler. Refurbishment and New Paint in 2019. Impressive electronics array. This classic lady will be a charmer with new paint and varnish. It is powered by twin Ford Lehman 120 HP engines that are very economical and reliable. The salon headboard and rails are striking, as is the overhead brass center rail that runs through the salon to the helm, doubling as a conduit for wiring and a steady hand-hold when necessary. This boat is full of charm with a very warm wood interior, and it is extremely stable in rough water. It is an ideal boat for a family, sleeping 5 comfortably, and 7 with the convertible dinette. The kitchen is fully equipped with a propane stove, a stainless steel sink, a large refrigerator, and plenty of countertop space. The vessel is equipped with two heads. The head off of the aft stateroom also has a shower and vanity sink. The forward stateroom has a smaller head and a fold-down sink. The Webasto diesel heater keeps the entire boat warm on those cold winter nights. Reason for selling is doesn't use any more.

She was built at the new shipyard in Singapore just prior to Grand Banks switch to a fiberglass hull mid-1973. This is a two-cabin, single diesel engine with flybridge layout; interior has parquet floors, leather settees, two heads. The current owner has lovingly worked to restore her; repairing decks, cabin, varnishing bright work, and completing upgrades to capture and preserve this truly iconic boat. GB 36 models are known for their seaworthiness and stability due to the semi-displacement hull, deep forefoot, long keel and hard chines. This DeFever designed, Pilot House trawler, is in absolutely pristine condition. Built in 1970 by American Marine (Grand Banks).. It has been fully refurbished, completely upgraded and superbly maintained.... It is presently kept under cover. (Covered moorage is available with this boat). Only a handful of these lovely Alaskans 46's remain. Of those that do, few are in such fine condition as this one. And even fewer are so well equipped. In the end, perhaps none has been refurbished so completely, with such attention to detail and with no expenses spared. It would be impossible to replicate this lovely yacht today. Craftsmen capable of building such a trawler would be hard to find and too expensive. Simply restoring this boat to her original condition has cost more than twice the asking price here. This yacht is not only beautiful, but also unique in its design and layout. Built in the fine tradition of Grand Banks craftsmanship, the 36 MY was only produced from 1995-1998. Therefore there are a limited number on the market each year.

With two queen-size cabins and large raised aft deck, the vessel is especially roomy and perfect for cruising as a couple or family group. The twin Cummins 210 diesels make for easy cruising at 10-12 knots.  

Uptick is available for private charters. If you would like to "try before you buy," chartering a private yacht is a great option. This yacht is also available for charter placement or for private ownership.

Main Description

Accommodations.

The layout of this yacht offers centerline walk-around bunks in both the Master and Guest Cabins. Both cabins also have a split head and shower arrangement.

The main saloon is and features the dinette with L-shape settee and drop-leaf yacht table, galley and helm station. There are bamboo shades. Some of the side windows slide open and the center forward window opens forward. The flooring throughout the yacht is teak parquet. The built-in settee is made of leatherette upholstery and has a matching chair and a corner table.

Helm Station

The helm station features a teak ship's wheel with manual and chain steering. The controls are Morse dual lever mechanical controls. There is full engine instrumentation on the console. There electrical panels with 120VAC and 12VDC circuit breakers along with the battery selector switch, windlass control panel, bow thruster control and magnetic compass.

The galley features cabinets above and below the Corian counters, drawers, pull-out counter extension, dish locker, pots & pans storage locker and opening window. Other features include stainless sink, galley vent fan, Nova-Cool refrigerator/ freezer, Princess 3-burner LPG Cooktop and Oven and U-line icemaker ch

The master cabin features private companionway teak doors and stairs, large hanging locker along with drawer and cabinet storage. The bed is a queen centerline bunk with reading lamps and overhead lights, overhead hatch and ports with curtains, AC control and flat panel TV.
