Description

What is the best value 37-foot catamaran on the market if you are buying new? Well, the Aventura 37 has to be in with a shout. Aventura was launched in 2000 and began by specialising in building smaller catamarans that are great value for money. They now build the 37, 45 and two motor yachts: the 35MY and 50MY.

The 37 was developed in collaboration with Lasta Design and is positioned against yachts such as the Excess 11 and the Bali Catsmart (38). She’s a good-looking boat with some clever touches and an interior space that is unique on the market for a sub 12m yacht. There is an option for a fly-lounge and the helm has a double seat with a winch station close to the sail plan, allowing excellent control of the mainsail and overlapping genoa.

The outside saloon can accommodate up to 8 guests; with steps to starboard for direct access to the roof, and inside, the layout has been well thought out with a saloon for 5 to 6 guests, a galley with a 285L American style fridge/freezer, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a navigation area tucked into the starboard corner. Configuration

The Aventura 37 comes standard as a 3-cabin version, with the owner’s suite in the port hull comprising a big double bed, an office space, a dressing room and a walk-in shower. She is also available in a four cabin charter version with two or four bathrooms.

The Aventura comes with a genoa and mainsail with a traveller aft on the coach roof. There is an option for a bowsprit to fly larger sails in lighter conditions. She has a favourable sail-area/displacement ratio and well-shaped hulls and is a competent sailor. They have worked hard to centralise the weight – an important factor for the motion at sea on a 37-footer. You can expect 7-8 knots in favourable conditions, a touch more with the bowsprit option or when the wind picks up.

What you lose in simplicity with the overlapping genoa, you gain in power from the fore-sail. With an electric winch, tacking is easy in any case.

Outside Space

This catamaran packs a lot of relaxation space into her size. The aft salon has a dining table that will sit up to eight, and there is a long bench aft with a sun lounger to starboard. Heading forward on the starboard side, you will pass the steps up to the optional fly lounge. And forward, there is room for three more large cushions on the foredeck. There are plenty of relaxation zones in other words!

The boat is easy to get around with plenty of hand-holds on the coach roof.

Interior Space

The well-thought-out design continues as you head inside the saloon which can accommodate 5/6 people around the table and includes an oven, microwave, an American-style fridge/freezer and even a nav station forward on the starboard side. There is plenty of storage.

Down below, Lasta Design has done a fantastic job in maximising the space for living. On the owner’s version, you have a big double berth, an office space, a separate dressing area and a big walk-in shower. The guest hull has two cabins and a head and shower. There is also an option for a charter configuration with four cabins and from two to four bathrooms.

What is the price of an Aventura 37? How much does this yacht cost? At the time of publication, prices start from €288,500. With all of the options, you are looking at around €350-370k for a well kitted-out yacht.

2021 Aventura 37 – claimed to be the world’s cheapest 37 sailing catamaran

During the International Multihull Show originally scheduled for April 15 to 19, Aventura Catamarans was planning to unveil its new Aventura 37 and celebrate its 20th anniversary, however the Covid19 decided otherwise…

This new 37' catamaran will be like the current design range, with naval architecture, interior and exterior design completed by Lasta Design Studio. 

The company says that despite the new cat being less than 40ft, “you will find that the Adventura 37 has all the ingredients of a cruising catamaran, but also a twist of performance”. 

Available in three cabins version (Master plus two cabins and two bathrooms) the Aventura 37 will also be available in three cabins and three bathrooms, four cabins and two bathrooms or, for the charter market, in four cabins and four bathrooms, which is extremely rare in this size.

The storage space has not been forgotten, including a 260lt fridge, dishwasher and many large cupboards. All the cabins have fitted wardrobes, and the Master suite even has a dressing room that the company says will delight all owners. Outside the numerous and very large chests will allow you to organize all your equipment without any difficulty.

The storage capacities are also important, 500lt for water (2 x 250lt) and 500lt for diesel (2 x 250lt).

All Aventura catamarans are also high-performance boats, but the company says what is truly unique with the Aventura 37 is the sail control pit (which includes Harken fittings and winches) is separated from the helm station. The helm station also has direct access from the cockpit with guaranteed comfort and safety.

“With 94m2 of upwind sail area, the Aventura 37 will not only out-perform most 40ft cruising catamarans, but the relaxation areas have not been forgotten either with a forward sun deck, roof top sun deck with lateral access, integrated plancha site and a real outdoor saloon for eight people will appeal to boat owners,” the media release states.

With five already pre-sold, the launch of the first Aventura 37 is planned for the end of 2020. Lee Condell and Rohan Veal, from the Australian Marine Network, are offering the Aventura 37 for an competitive price of $595,000 base price landed in Australia or alternatively Euro pricing for Euro delivery is also available. A standard inclusions list and an AUD/Euro options price list is available on request.

The Aventura Catamarans yard now completes its range by integrating the A37 between the A34 (nominated for 2019 European Boat of the Year) and the A44 (nominated for the 2020 Catamaran of the Year), plus adding the A10 and A14 motor catamarans (released in summer 2020), they expect to build around 50 units in total by 2022.

Aventura is a successful brand of sailing catamarans out of the STGI shipyard. The Aventura 37, first launched in charter 2021 and gaining a reputation as a compact craft with plenty of living space for her size, is becoming increasingly popular for charters in the Mediterranean. Relaxation zones abound - in the aft cockpit that can seat eight, on the fly lounge, in the saloon and on the forward deck.

Aventura 37s in charter are primarily of the 4-cabin charter variety with two or four bathrooms. That makes them ideal for groups of up to four couples to enjoy holiday-making on a boat that is easy to sail with all the modern innovations of rig and sailing controls. The flydeck helm station has very good visibility and is a favourite place for crew members to relax in company with the skipper and right adjacent to the spacious sundeck forward. The saloon has good-sized windows and seating for six, wile the cabins are as spacious as any you will find in a comparative catamaran of this size. There is s surprisingly good amount of storage space aboard, adding to crew comfort as you go about your sailing vacation.

Regardless of the destination, all passengers and crew members aboard the Aventura 37 will feel the quality of the build, will appreciate the lack of sharp corners, great material coating and a lot of light. The first Aventura 37 Day Cruiser, a variation of the standard Aventura 37 that we tested in MW181 , was launched this summer in Tunisia. This compact unit is able to accommodate 20 to 28 passengers.

The aft cockpit of the cruiser version, the helm station placed high up and the coachroof/sunbathing area are much the same, but the saloon/galley and the windows of the nacelle have been replaced by bench seats and a vast flush-decked forward cockpit. In the hulls, it will be possible to integrate a full galley, with 9.2 cu ft (260 l) refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, worktop etc. It will also be possible to be fitted out with cabins for guests or crew, opening up other programs than exclusive day trips. As for the drivetrain, this first example retains traditional internal combustion motors, but an electric installation is also being designed.
