Best Catamaran Brands: Exploring the Multihull World

In the past 20 years, the catamaran segment has had a big make-over and expanded. These days, center console cats compete with monohulls as fishing and inshore power boats, and both sailing and motor cats cruise long distances, offering both large interiors and ample deck space, plus stability and safety. Whether you’re fishing closer to shore or cruising longer distances, catamarans are no longer seen as the less capable cousins. Some of the top brands in the sector have been driving the innovation for decades, but hot on their heels are daring and exciting newcomers who are pushing the boundaries. There are many excellent brands to choose from, and these are just a few of our favorites;

Catamaran Fishing Boats
Invincible boats.
Power cats used specifically for fishing are big business as more people realize the huge speed and stability benefits they offer compared to their monohull counterparts. Invincible have been instrumental in the popularity boom with their excellent range of 33- to 46-foot center console fishing power cats. With cruising speeds of 50 mph (and as much as 70 mph), as well as a suite of advanced livewell systems and accessories, they are one of the industry leaders in this category. Freeman Boatworks
Another major player in the power cat fishing sector are Freeman, whose 28- to 47-foot range of seriously hardy fishing cats offer incredible performance and speed (they can cruise at 80 mph) as well as huge fuel capacity and massive livewells. This means they’re perfectly equipped for offshore fishing adventures thanks to their four 450hp outboard engines and extremely comfortable ride even in rough sea conditions. Freeman boats for sale

Power Catamaran Brands
Leveraging more than 30 years of building sailing catamarans, South African builders Robertson & Caine, with naval architect Simonis Voogd, has created today's range of Leopard power cruising cats, among the most highly regarded power cats on the market. The success of their seaworthy line of power cats over the last 10 years has included a 2022 International Best of Boats Award to the Leopard 46 Powercat and a Multihull of the Year award to the Leopard 53 Powercat. One of the smallest ocean-going motor cats is there new 40, which has been nominated as a European Yacht of the Year. Each model offers a spacious flybridge, modern and luxurious styling, and an impressive use of space, and even the 40 sleeps six in three private cabins. Leopard boats for sale
Aquila Power Catamarans
Power cat specialists Aquila are relative newcomers but have been taking the sector by storm with the variety and scope of their innovative models. Whether its fuel efficiency and stable cruising you’re after for covering long distances, the capability of reaching offshore fishing grounds, or sporty, coastal and day boating that’s on your mind, Aquila has a boat worth looking at. Their offshore, sport, and yacht lines run from pocket-sized 28-foot Molokai fishing cat, to the 70-foot flagship superyacht. In between, we find models such as Aquila 54 Yacht Power Catamaran designed to transport you to every corner of the globe. Aquila boats for sale

Bluewater Catamaran Brands
Fountaine pajot.
Long gone are the days when catamarans were purely coastal day sailers. Today, a whole new breed of boat is gaining huge popularity with bluewater and round the world sailors looking for more space and more stability than a monohull can ever offer (see our article on Catamarans vs Monohulls ). Fountaine Pajot have been industry leaders in this sector for 40 years, remaining one step ahead of the game with their sailing and now power cats. While they offer an 80-foot superyacht, it’s their 40-foot Isla, the smallest in the range, which is their flagship, showing their dedication to creating strong, safe, durable, and family-friendly boats. Fountaine Pajot boats for sale
For those looking to buy a high-performance, safe, and incredibly spacious bluewater catamaran that can be handled by two people, the French Outremer brand should definitely be considered. The models feature daggerboards, unlike many cruising catamarans, and the result is superior upwind performance that can help you cover long distances much faster. The brand’s five models currently range from 45 to 55 feet, and in 2022, the Outremer 55 won both a European Yacht of the Year award and Multihull of the Year at the International Multihull Show. Whether you want an eco-yacht with electric power, or a larger family-friendly yacht complete with four full-sized cabins, Outremer has a lot to offer. Outremer boats for sale

Sailing Catamaran Brands
Sailing purists often lament that sailing a catamaran isn’t true sailing, but these days there is much to argue in that statement. Balance is a relatively new brand, now building a range of beautiful multihull sailing boats, and earning recognition for their efforts—both Sailing World Magazine and Cruising World Magazine’s Boat of the Year Awards in 2022. Their designers, who come from racing backgrounds, have found the right point between a high-performance sailing vessel built with higher-tech materials and a practical, easy-to-handle boat that can be sailed across the oceans by a couple. Balance boats for sale
Arguably one of the most famous names in the catamaran world, Lagoon was among the first to build practical, comfortable sailing catamarans and became the most popular brand worldwide. The brand has long been one of the top choices of catamaran charter companies the world over thanks to its spacious, practical, safe models. The boats are renowned for their ease of handling and a high level of comfort and luxury. The current model range of sailing cats starts at 40 feet and goes all the way up to 77 feet, while Lagoon power cats go a step farther, to 80 feet. Lagoon boats for sale

Cruising Catamaran Brands
Whether cruising coastally or traversing great oceans, the capable, comfortable, meticulously crafted sailing cats by Antares are up there with the best of the best. Currently, the boutique brand builds six of its 44-foot models annually at their factory in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The creation of Canadian designer Ted Clements, the 44 has long-term living in mind, focusing on interior space (there’s even an industry-leading 6.75 feet of headroom in the master cabin), as well as long-term sustainability. A hybrid version is available that carries electric motors, a hydrogenerator and extensive solar panels. Antares boats for sale
Built in Cape Town, South Africa, Xquisite catamarans are another relative newcomer making waves since their launch in 2014, recently earning awards from Cruising World and Sail magazines for the X5 Plus, a 54-footer. With a range of luxury power and sailing catamarans, unique styling, high performance, and emphasis on comfort make them very competitive in the cruising cat category. From their trailerable pocket-sized 30 SportCat sailing catamaran, to their Sixty Solar Sail and Sixty Solar Motor (using all green energy), as well as their two power cats, it’s a diverse and innovative range. Liveaboard Catamaran Brands
Bali catamarans.
Catamarans offer twice as much interior space as a monohull of the same length, making almost all of them ideal liveaboards. If you’re looking for modern styling in the interior, you’d do well to start with one of the 38- to 54-foot models offered by BALI. Utilizing an open-space concept, a solid forward deck with built-in comforts, and the unique BALI doors that open the main saloon to the world outside in good weather, BALI Catamarans put an emphasis on liveaboard comfort, and even their models under 44 feet offer impressive amounts of space. Produced in France, by the well-known Catana shipyard, the brand has small-scale production ensuring each boat is of the highest quality. BALI boats for sale
HH Catamarans
Relative newcomers to the catamaran world, HH launched in 2012 as a performance catamaran brand and is now giving some of the bigger brands a run for their money. Working exclusively with the successful US design firm of Morelli & Melvin and building at its own factory in Xiamen, China, the HH range now encompasses eight models between 44 and 88 feet in length. Hulls, decks and structures are very high-tech—100-percent carbon using infused epoxy resin. These semi-custom boats allow you to choose everything down to the layout of saloon and galley (as well as the helm positions) ensuring you have the perfect spaces for long-term living. With eco-credentials, elegant styling, and lightning speed, HH are collecting awards left, right, and center. HH boats for sale

Small Catamaran Brands
Nautitech are one of the top names in the industry and their catamarans, built in France, are well-designed for both coastal cruising and bluewater sailing. Their range of small sailing catamarans—the 40 Open, 44 Open, and 48 Open—offer a good balance of performance, luxury, space, and safety, and as the name “Open” indicates, the main saloon can be opened wide to integrate saloon and cockpit spaces. Owned by Bavaria Yachts since 2014, Nautitech uses quality materials ensuring their boats, while smaller than many other brands, are equipped for long-distance adventures. Nautitech boats for sale
Built in Australia, Seawind catamarans come in five models from 38 to 45 feet long (plus a 52-footer) and demonstrate lively performance in keeping with their relatively lighter weight and use of modest-sized diesel sail drives or outboard engines. The well-engineered boats are designed for those who wish to sail their own boats and have easy access to all control lines from the cockpit, while steering from helm stations either to port or start, well-protected from the elements. The brand has evolved over the years since its founding in 1982 but continues to produce according to its mission “innovative design, quality of finish, outstanding performance and sea-handling ability…”. Catamaran Brands for the Money
Catana are not inexpensive catamarans—in fact they are semi-custom in a production sense—and they’re not intended to be your typical series-built white, fiberglass model. It’s the performance and style that you get for your money that has put them on our best-value list. Part of the BALI Group, Catana has a long history of building high-performance, strong, capable, and spacious cats with daggerboards for upwind performance. Most recent models are 49 and 53 feet long, built with carbon-infusion hull construction. The small-scale of production means every vessel is constructed to top quality, meaning you’re getting exactly what you want for your money. Catana boats for sale
Beneteau’s Excess range is a recent introduction that offers good- performing, cruising catamarans at good value for the price, from the largest boatbuilder in the world. Built by CNB/Lagoon in France using their long-standing catamaran know-how, the Excess line of four models—37 to 49 feet—are lively performers without the price tag and complexity of other high-tech, high-performance sailing cats. Nonetheless, Excess lead designer Bruno Belmont has managed to pack a huge amount of features into even their smallest models, meaning you’re getting many of the features of a larger boat for a considerably lower price tag. Luxury Catamaran Brands
Described by one reviewer as the “Tesla of sailboats”, Kinetic’s range of luxurious catamarans are in a league of their own, built without compromise. In light winds, Kinetic cats can sail faster than wind speed. Founded in 2018, Kinetic catamarans are seriously high-quality, high-performing cruisers crafted in South Africa of all-carbon and infused epoxy resin construction to innovative designs by Simonis Voogd. The fact that they’re semi-custom allows owners to choose everything from the layout, to the rig, as well as the interior furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. While it probably doesn’t come as a surprise, these are some of the most expensive cats on the market by size, but the quality and build is flawless. Kinetic official website
Sunreef Yachts
Sunreef’s range of exquisite custom-built sail and motor catamarans see them placed well into the superyacht category, with their luxury models ranging from 60 to 88 feet for power cats and 50 to 80 feet for their “smaller” sailing range. Established in Poland, Sunreef—and their founder and president Francis Lapp—were pioneers in the luxury catamaran sector, and remain ahead of the game today with consistent innovation and dedication to eco yachts including green propulsion, renewable energy, and sustainable finishing materials. Best Cruising Catamarans
- By Cruising World Editors
- Updated: July 1, 2021
![luxury catamaran brands multihulls](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/intro-collage-1024x683.jpg)
Cruising catamarans have been around for decades, but early models—often plywood and fiberglass vessels built by their owners from plans and kits, kept the boats on the fringes of mainstream sailing. That all changed, though, as big roomy cats were discovered by sailors who went off to charter in the Caribbean, where the multihulls proved their worth as comfortable liveaboard and party boats.
Today’s bluewater catamarans roam the globe, carrying families to exotic destinations across the Pacific and beyond. Just as with their monohull cousins, there is no best catamaran. Instead there is a wide variety of designs, ranging from small catamarans that offer the ease of maintenance a couple might enjoy to performance catamarans capable of easily knocking off 250-mile days. Today, the best catamaran brands offer a range of size models and layouts that can be optimized for an owner sailing with family and friends, or for the charter market, where there’s a demand for four, five and even six cabins worth of accommodations.
The most prolific catamaran manufacturers are in France and South Africa where yards include both large-run production builders and niche companies building fewer than 10 boats a year.
The best cruising catamarans offer good load-carrying ability and respectable performance. As with any sailboat , a modern catamaran’s design is a result of compromises. Daggerboards or keels? Galley up or galley down? Spacious owner’s cabin or extra bunks? There are lots of options to choose from—and that’s what makes looking at these sailboats fun!
Here, then is an eclectic A to Z list of some of the best catamarans that have helped shaped the evolution of how we live and sail on two hulls.
Antares 44i
![luxury catamaran brands Antares 44i catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/crw0615_feat1_american_cat09-1-1024x591.jpg)
Now built in Argentina as a full-fledged, bluewater catamaran and cruiser that can be safely operated by a shorthanded couple or family crew, the Antares 44i features a fully covered cockpit with a quartet of big, standard solar panels recessed within the hardtop, one example of a yacht capable of long-range passagemaking.
Atlantic 42
![luxury catamaran brands Atlantic 42 Catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/atlantic42-1024x768.jpg)
Almost 30 years ago, yacht designer Chris White revolutionized catamaran design with the first in his series of Atlantic cats, the primary feature of which was the innovative mid-ship sailing cockpit forward of the main cabin. The smallest in the Atlantic line, the 42 remains White’s most popular design ever.
![luxury catamaran brands Bahia 46 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/bahia-1024x682.jpg)
Fountaine-Pajot has built so many outstanding cruising catamarans that it’s difficult to narrow down any single boat, but we’ve always been fans of the good-looking, well-thought-out Bahia 46. At 46 feet, the boat is large enough for offshore forays and has plenty of volume; with its simple but powerful sail plan, it’s also an excellent performer.
![luxury catamaran brands Catana 471 catamarans](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/catana-471-1024x682.jpg)
Beginning around 1996, the French builder Catana was one of the first companies to manufacture fully found cruising cats for private ownership, and this Christophe Barreau design, which enjoyed a nearly 10-year production run from 1997-2006, was emblematic of this first generation of safe, fun, long-legged offshore voyagers.

![luxury catamaran brands Catana 50 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/Catana_50_Mirage__13_-1024x768.jpg)
When it comes to speed, light boats are fast ones. And if you wish to save weight, that means exotic modern materials like carbon. Catana now infuses the laminates of their entire production line with carbon fiber, and for this list, we’ve chosen the Catana 50 Carbon, one of the zippiest cats now crossing oceans.

Pioneering catamaran sailor, builder and designer Tony Smith launched the first of his 33-foot Gemini 105M’s (10.5 meters = 33′) in 1993, and soon after found a ready and willing stream of sailors enamored of the boat’s compact size, affordable price tag, and such innovations as the nifty lifting rudder and transom steps.

Built between 2000-2005, the Gunboat 62 firmly established the Gunboat brand: go-anywhere cats that applied race-boat technology to a world-cruising platform. Hull no. 1, Tribe, was built for company founder Peter Johnstone, who then spent a year-and-a-half cruising with his family, smiling all the way.
![luxury catamaran brands Kronos 45 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/kronos.jpg)
French builder Henri Wauquiez is best known for his long career building monohulls, but the Kronos 45 cat, which he launched in 1992, was ahead of her time. Classic lines, the aft “targa bar” over the cockpit, the louvered coach roof windows, even the distinctive stripes on her hull: the Kronos 45 remains timeless.
![luxury catamaran brands Lagoon 380 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/lagoon-380-1024x682.jpg)
No roundup of cruising cats would be complete without several Lagoon entries, and the best of that impressive bunch might well be the Lagoon 380. Originally launched in 1999, and revered for its combination of quality, volume and performance, with over 740 boats built the 380 is still going strong.
![luxury catamaran brands Lagoon 440 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/lagoon-440-1024x682.jpg)
Launched five years after the breakthrough 380, the Lagoon 440 was an evolutionary design that featured a raised flybridge helm station, a unique “gullwing” configuration below the bridge deck, expanded windows in the hull and much more. With 400 boats built in a 6-year production run, the 440 was an unqualified success.
![luxury catamaran brands Lagoon 620 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/lagoon-620-1024x682.jpg)
How big can a production cat, still operable by a short-handed crew, really be? The builders at Lagoon discovered that 62-feet hit a sweet spot in the marketplace, and have sold over 70 boats since its introduction in 2010. The centerpiece of this design is the sensational steering station atop the flybridge, with expansive views of the sea and sky.

![luxury catamaran brands Leopard 40 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/leopard-40-1024x682.jpg)
With an unmatched pedigree – designed by premier multihull naval architects Gino Morelli and Pete Melvin, built by the prestigious Robertson & Caine boatyard in South Africa, and commissioned by chartering giant The Moorings – the Leopard 40 was, perhaps unsurprisingly, Cruising World ’s Import Boat of the Year in 2005.
Louisiane 37
![luxury catamaran brands Louisiane 37 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/1-louisiane-37-1983-scan-22-1024x768.jpg)
Based on the famous French racing cat Charente-Maritime, the Louisiane 37, designed by Joubert/Nivelt and launched by builder Fountaine-Pajot in 1983, was a light, fast liveaboard cruiser with full accommodations that represented a radical departure from the hefty British cats that preceded it.
Maine Cat 30
![luxury catamaran brands Maine Cat 30 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/maine-cat-30-1024x682.jpg)
One of the more versatile and clever cats ever created, the central feature of the cool Maine Cat 30 is the open bridge deck/living room sandwiched between the hulls and canopied by a rigid, permanent hard top (the comfortable accommodations/ staterooms are stationed in the hulls). Ideal for a winter in the Bahamas but with the ability to sail offshore, it’s a boat for all seasons and reasons.
![luxury catamaran brands Manta 42 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/manta-42-1024x682.jpg)
Built in Florida and beloved by the owners of the over 120 boats built during the company’s existence from 1993 to 2009, the Manta Catamarans range included 38-, 40- and 44-foot cats. For this exercise, however, we’re heralding the original Manta 42, which won the Best Value Overall prize in CW’s 2001 Boat of the Year contest.
Moorings 4800/Leopard 48
![luxury catamaran brands Leopard 48 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/leopard-48-1024x682.jpg)
Another Leopard/Moorings collaboration built by the wizards at Robertson & Caine (though this boat was designed by fellow South African Alex Simonis), the Leopard 48 was another CW Boat of the Year winner with all the contemporary bells and whistles: forward cockpit, flybridge helm station and solid hardtop dodger, just to name a few.

Nautitech 441
![luxury catamaran brands Nautitech 441 catmaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/nautitech.jpg)
The Best Multihull Under 45 Feet: So said the CW judging panel in the 2013 Boat of the Year competition, regarding the Nautitech 441. But what makes this versatile platform so intriguing are the different helm set-ups. The 441 employs a single wheel, to starboard, ideal for solo sailors, while the 442 has a pair of helm stations aft.

Outremer 5X
![luxury catamaran brands Catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/l_img_7034.jpg)
A state-of-the-art all-oceans cat that exemplifies how far multihull design has come, the 59-foot Outremer 5X was a winner on both sides of the Atlantic, taking top honors in the European Boat of the Year competition in 2013, and following up as the Best Full-Size Multihull in CW ’s contest a year later.

![luxury catamaran brands St. Francis 50](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/crw0717_cat8_rv_st._francis002-1024x683.jpg)
The flagship of the proud St. Francis line – built in South Africa since 1990 to designs by local legends Lavranos Marine Design – the St. Francis 50 is another “luxury cat” that shares much in common with an earlier 48-foot sister-ship, but packs even more payload into its roomier lines.

Seawind 1000
![luxury catamaran brands Seawind 1000 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/2-Seawind-1000-1024x768.jpg)
Founded by Aussie surfer and sailor Richard Ward in 1982, the 33-foot Seawind 1000 is easily the most popular cruising cat ever built in Australia (the company has since moved its manufacturing and management operations to Vietnam). Roomy and airy, these cats dot the coastline of eastern Oz.
Seawind 1160
![luxury catamaran brands 1160 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/boat-rentals-viset-road-rawai-chang-wat-phuket-seawind-1160-processed.jpg)
If the Seawind 1000 was a minimalist approach to cruising cats, the 38-foot Seawind 1160 is the flip side of the coin, a full-fledged long-range voyager. Among the reasons it was named CW ’s Most Innovative boat for 2007 is the unique “tri-folding” door that stashes overhead to open up the saloon and cockpit into a spacious living area.

Sunsail 384
![luxury catamaran brands Sunsail 384 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/119-Sunsail_384_7.jpg)
Every sailboat is a compromise, and in the case of the Sunsail 384 (also sold privately as the Leopard 38) that’s a good thing, because designers Morrelli & Melvin and builder Robertson and Caine got the balance just right with this relatively small catamaran. With four cabins, the 384 can carry the same size bareboat charter crowd as her larger siblings, but does so with a decided bounce in her step. Named CW’s Import Boat of the Year in 2010, you can gauge the success of the design by the grins on the crew as they barrel down Sir Francis Drake channel in the British Virgin Islands.
Victoria 67
![luxury catamaran brands Victoria 67 catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/victoria67-1-1024x682.jpg)
The French design office of Berret Racoupeau drafted the lines of Fountaine-Pajot’s new flagship, introduced in 2013, a magnificent world-girdling voyaging catamaran. Like other giant cats launched in recent years, the boat features a sensational upper deck with all sail controls, helm and lounging stations.

Wharram Tanaroa
![luxury catamaran brands Wharram catamaran](https://www.cruisingworld.com/uploads/2021/09/wharram-1024x768.jpg)
No list of influential multihulls would be complete without the work of James Wharram, and while Tangaroa wasn’t a production cat by any means, it showcases the British designer’s respect for ancient Polynesian craft. Wharram sailed this 23-foot-6-inch “double-hulled canoe” across the Atlantic in the 1950s, and sold countless plans for similar boats for decades afterwards.

Luxury Catamarans
![luxury catamaran brands lagoon 77](https://www.katamarans.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/lagoon-seventy7.jpg)
Welcome to our Luxury Catamarans section – seriously luxurious multihulls that turn heads. The market leader in this sector is Sunreef Yachts, but it is a fast growing market segment with Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot and the Moon Yacht 60 getting in on the action.
Lagoon in particular are expanding in this market with the Seventy 7 and the Sixty 5.
Then there are the one off luxury custom builds that merge into the super yachts. Aeroyacht and Sunreef operate in this space with other yards like JFA Yachts (head to our Sunreef Yachts history for more detail on this particular brand).
Other notable manufacturers include Privilege and McConaghy.
Privilege builds luxury yachts that have been designed to sail the sevens seas: world cruising catamarans that are very comfortable. McConaghy leans more towards the performance end of the spectrum in this market: sleek, fast, flybridge cats.

![luxury catamaran brands](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/SIMBOL-VRIJEME-ČITANJA-2.png)
The segment of luxury catamarans is the fastest growing part of the nautical market. The cross-section of currently available models over 20 meters in length is just an announcement of what is to come in the future
The Allure of Super Cats: Unveiling the Splendor of Luxury Catamarans
In the last two decades, catamarans have reached unprecedented popularity, both among private owners and rental clients. From the initial models which were cumbersome and slow, a bit like floating station wagons, a whole range of interesting new models has developed, from those powered only by electricity to the fast, carbon-built performance yachts or to those close in size to superyachts .

Adriatic Dragon
Today, the segment of luxury catamarans over 20 meters in length is the most vibrant part of the market, and those models best represent the successful evolution of this vessel type and lifestyle. In Croatia, the presence of catamarans is primarily felt in charter fleets, and they represent the most attractive part of the charter market. The largest among them exceed in price and dimensions many luxury yachts available for charter in Croatia .
We have selected some of the largest and most luxurious catamarans on the market today, the popularity of which is evidenced by the fact that at least five new models – their larger or smaller sisters – are getting ready to debut by the end of 2022.
Among the many yards working on a multi-hull is also Sanlorenzo , one of the largest manufacturers of motor yachts in the world. In anticipation of dazzling yacht show debuts, enjoy this retrospective of the most popular luxury catamarans, heralded by Lagoon and Sunreef.
Luxury Power Catamarans
Sunreef 80 / eco yacht / 80 power.
![luxury catamaran brands Sunreef 80 power exterior](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/80-sunreef-power-exterior-01.jpg)
Modern design, luxurious interiors and ambition to guarantee their clients a relaxing cruising experience have helped Sunreef win the hearts of boaters and the industry in a short time. Their Sunreef 80 is a prime example of their approach to sailing. Impressive hulls and a carefully designed superstructure connected to the main deck allowed the designers to create a generous interior. As fast and fun as it is, this model is still best known for her interior: 340 square meters of living space, in five cabins for 11 people.
The bow terrace is spacious, the aft platform turns into a beach club, and the fly bridge is large and so attractive you’ll have trouble getting off of it: as if a fantastic view, an al fresco bar and a galley were not enough, there is an option of installing a jacuzzi and hammock. Sunreef 80 is available with a variety of customization options, but in every version, the master cabin has a private pull-out terrace.
![luxury catamaran brands sunreef 80 interior](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/supercat-sunreef-80-interior-view-00.jpg)
The Eco version has most of the hull covered with solar panels, that generate 32 kW of electricity for the electric engines. The interior can be sustainable in terms of fabrics and materials, which gives this luxury yacht a whole new dimension. Particularly interesting is the Power 80 Eco, which allows speed freaks to quench their thirst in the most environmentally responsible way imaginable. The weight to power ratio of the model is 5.2 kg / kWh, while the solar panels cover 200 square meters of her hull.
On this truly eco-avant-garde luxury catamaran, the air conditioning system is powered by direct current, as is the production and purification of water. The best version of the model has the master cabin in the bow, with an en suite and amazing sea views. The propulsion ranges from between 2 x 575 to 2 x 1200 hp, with a fuel tank of 8000 l. The latest model is Sunreef 70 , whose detailed review is available on our website here .

Lagoon seventy 7, sixty 5, seventy 8.
![luxury catamaran brands Luxury catamaran Lagoon Seventy8 cruising](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/supercat-lagoon-seventy-8-cruising-00.jpg)
With the largest and most luxurious model, Seventy 7, Lagoon have not only jumped to the very top of the market, but also offered the level of comfort we can without hesitation consider to be the culmination of the yachting experience in the SuperCat segment. With her impressive 23 meters of length, she could have been significantly less graceful in her shape, and considering her interior volume, it’s a miracle she’s this elegant and harmonious.
The huge salon has several zones; a corner for the skipper, a lounge, a dining room, all of them gathered around the central mast. The bow sundeck and crew cabins are both more generous than on most other models in the segment, and the master is absolutely sensational, fully independent and equipped with a glass frame that descends via hydraulics rising to become a spectacular private terrace.
![luxury catamaran brands Lagoon Sixty 5 luxury catamaran charter croatia](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/lagoon-sixty-5-aerial-view-00.jpg)
With a maximum of 2 x 230 hp and 2800-liter fuel tank, this cat is safe to sail even without the wind, but still has a 205-square meter mainsail. Her two generators combining a total of 46 kW supply electricity to all systems. The fly is accessible via winding stairs, and large enough to install optionals like a jacuzzi or a sunbed. We took Sixty 5 for a two-day trip in the waters around the island of Šolta , and she had us fully convinced of her luxury.
The interiors were slightly more compact, but still sufficient for ocean adventures. Lagoon Seventy 8 Power raises everything on a new level, and guarantees elegant performance and up to 19 knots of speed (with 2 x 580-hp engines) and range up to roughly 4000 nm. Available with a five-cabin layout, this cat has large beds, plenty of storage space and en-suites in all versions.
![luxury catamaran brands luxury sailing catamaran lagoon seventy 7](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/supercat-lagoon-seventy-7-back-view-00.jpg)
The interior is huge and airy, the view stretches across 360 degrees and this supercat sleeps 16 adventurers ready to take a long cruiser around the world.

Fountaine Pajot will soon celebrate half a century of production of top catamarans, and their current largest model is Alegria 67. Modern and rounded bow, voluminous stern and fly, and large glazed surfaces reveal the French have placed special attention to charm, as they usually do. Different from what one might expect, FP 67 is a successful attempt to redefine life on 20-meter long multi-hull boats.
The options are many, but the one we particularly like has a galley in the left hull, and four cabins with en suites. Owners can choose the six-cabin charter version, or the master version, with a large master and two guest cabins, as well as a cabin for a small crew. In the interior, especially in the salon, the designers made an effort to make everything look more luxurious than usual, using variety of high-quality materials and fabrics.

Two large sectionals seat 12, while the galley is next to the bow exit. Fountaine Pajot have build their reputation on top performance, but the flagship of this series boasts attractive interiors to boot
Privilège Signature 650
Privilège catamarans have been present on the market for almost forty years, but it seems that the acquisition by the Hanse Group launched them into the trend-setting group. Their new Privilège Signature 650 aspires to be among the leading luxury catamarans in her segment, which is not an easy task. Slightly curved fly carriers, panoramic windows and portholes are just some of the modern details on this brand new model.
![luxury catamaran brands privilege 650](https://www.yachtscroatia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/supercat-privilege-650-back-view-00.jpg)
The standard layout includes a large owner’s suite with an en suite, as well as three guest cabins. Our favorite layout places the galley below deck, allowing the cockpit to grow to unbelievable dimensions. By connecting the tables and the large L-shaped sofas that accommodate up to 12 people this space can be converted into a large sunbed.
The aft platform is able to lift a tender or jet-ski up to 600 kg, in addition to allowing swimmers easy and safe access to the water. The fly deck is accessible from the cockpit or via a starboard staircase, and the central U-shaped sofa and the adjacent table offer a great spot to socialize, especially when covered with a bimini. Two rudder seats provide the skipper with excellent visibility, and give everyone aboard a unique view.

The appeal of the catamaran sailboats in terms of speed , stability, and the ability to embark on long-range cruising has made them hugely popular with today's sailors. But what are the best catamaran sailboats?
Even though catamaran sailboats have become increasingly popular in the last few years, they have a truly rich legacy as one of the most sought after vessels for bluewater cruising.
Thanks to their incredibly wide beams and bigger daft, catamarans have become remarkably favorable for sailors looking to go for long-distance voyages, overnight cruising, and day sailing.
And if space is paramount for you when out there on the water, a catamaran sailboat is the only way to go as they offer extraordinary space to allow you to spend more time on the water with friends and family.
But even with all these amazing features, you're probably still wondering; what are the best catamaran sailboats?
Like their monohull counterparts, choosing the best catamaran sailboat can be quite overwhelming since there are lots of them out there. They come in a wide variety of designs and sizes ranging from small catamarans to huge ones.
The best catamaran sailboats can easily clock 250-mile voyages, offer incredible performance, and have layouts that can be easily optimized for individuals, charter markets, and great accommodation. In essence, the best catamaran sailboats offer respectable performance and offer good load-carrying ability.
That being said, here are some of the best catamaran sailboats that you can get your hands on.

Best Catamarans
{{boat-info="/boats/manta-42"}}
Even though many multihulls are no longer built in the United States these days, the Manta 42 is a true American-built catamaran that brings good living and good value into one package. Designed cleverly for easy handling, this American built catamaran is a great choice for a liveaboard cruiser for sailors looking to go for long-distance voyages. Thanks to its trademark high bows and an enormously curved incorporated forward crossbeam, this catamaran is easily recognizable even from a distance.
It is designed with a uniquely fixed crossbeam, which is very different from conventional aluminum cross beams that support the tension of the forestay. This fixed crossbeam allows for a little bit of movement thereby helping in absorbing enormous twisting forces of the bows. As such, you have to keep in mind that there may be resultant stress crack particularly in the bow area of the vessel.
All in all, the Manta 42 is a superb offshore cruising catamaran that offers a good sail-area-to-displacement ratio as well as plenty of space and accommodation. The cockpit area is refined, luxurious, and is designed with additional stainless pushpit contraptions to help in holding objects such as wind vanes, dinghies, and solar panels. The boat's quality in terms of performance and stability is the benchmark of what a catamaran should be.
Fountaine Pajot Elba 45
{{boat-info="/boats/fountaine-pajot-elba-45"}}
Recently named the "Boat of the Year" for 2019 by Cruising World Magazine and Sail Magazine, the Elba 45 is the latest model in the incredible line of Fountaine Pajot catamarans. This boat was designed to replace the outgoing Helia 44 and stands to be one of the most popular catamarans with Fountain Pajot having sold over 100 Elba 45 hulls long before even the first one emerged from production.
This French-built cat brings to the fore a well-thought-out, safe, and dependable features with 10% less drag, efficient motoring, top-notch performance, and high speeds. It's also designed with fixed stub keels and slightly aft-raked bows, which are all essential in enhancing windward performance; something that most catamarans struggle with.
To improve on safety, the keels of this amazing catamaran sailboat are glued into a particularly designed recess in the hulls. This is to ensure that there are no keel bolts that can rip out and put the boat in danger if the boat gets grounded or in the event of a collision. The rig is also ICW friendly and is a true representation of a standard catamaran setup.
This is, without a doubt, a modern-looking cruising catamaran that has a low-profile lounging space on its deck, high topsides and bows as well as a more pronounced reverse sheer that's essential in minimizing the bulk of the windows while creating additional and useful volume below. This is a true catamaran that occupies a sweet spot for those looking to sail along the bay or for those adventurous sailors looking to set sail for more ambitious offshore cruising plans.
{{boat-info="/boats/leopard-48"}}
With its fine design, straightforward systems, and easy handling, the Leopard 48 has everything it needs to be ranked among the distinguished category of the best catamaran sailboats. This is an excellent multihull that is structured with advanced materials, designs, and innovations that are meant to be fun, spacious, and comfortable.
Designed in South Africa by Simonis-Voogd, is probably the best design in the Leopard family of catamarans. Its two hulls are vacuum-bagged using balsa core to offer maximum firmness while ensuring that the weight is on the minimum. This is done by articulately regulating the level of resin in the layup. With such types of hull shapes, this catamaran sailboat is very fast and can consistently clock 12 knots of speed against the currents.
The boat is also designed with shallow keels as they're filled with closed-cell polyurethane foam that's of great importance in increasing buoyancy and preventing water ingress. To enhance the safety of the vessel, the stern and bow both have bulkheads that are essential in keeping out that water if the sailboat is involved in a collision.
The hulls of this boat are deep and narrow, particularly below the waterline. They also curve higher up to practically reduce the wetted surface area while offering enough deck space and plenty of room for accommodations. Its cockpit is another excellent feature thanks to its lavish spaces that give you the chance of kicking back and relaxing.
This boat is designed to offer superior livability, quick and easy to handle features, as well as enough space for friends and family. It is designed with beautiful lines and immense practicality for those who want to go on long cruising voyages.
Antares 44i
While many people often believe that voluminous cruising catamarans should be used as charter boats, the Antares 44i brings a very different perspective altogether. Designed in Argentina as a complete bluewater catamaran, this is a boat that's specifically built for private boat owners looking for a sturdy and well-equipped bluewater cruiser. This is an absolutely gorgeous catamaran that has a fully-equipped cockpit just to ensure that you can safely operate it even when shorthanded.
Like most catamarans, the Antares 44i is designed with features that allow for long-distance voyages. It comes with a minimum bridge deck clearance of 30 inches, which is essential in mitigating bridge deck slap. The helm station is designed to offer excellent visibility over the coach roof without having to perch the helmsman high above the cockpit.
If you're planning to make those long-distance cruising to exotic places, you'll appreciate this boat's layout. The galley is put down in the port hull so that it doesn't compromise the size of the galley and the saloon. The forward-facing navigation station is up there with the best and is up to offshore standards. And that's not all; the Antares 44i comes with good mounting points for electronics, a large table, comfortable seats, and provides brilliant visibility outside.
This boat is perfectly suited for extended offshore cruising and is a great reminder for anyone who thinks that all catamarans are charter boats and all offshore boats are monohulls.
{{boat-info="/boats/dolphin-ocema-42"}}
Designed by Philipe Pouvreau in northern Brazil, the Dolphin Ocema 42 is a truly unique catamaran sailboat that goes against the conventional norm of catamarans. It is equipped with daggerboards, which are essential in enabling it to point higher on the wind while reducing the wetted surface when running or anchoring in shallow surfaces. This, however, requires a higher level of expertise in sailing. This is because lifting the daggerboards higher up will expose the rudders while the daggerboards can also interfere with the hulls in the event that the vessel runs aground.
But even with that, the Dolphin 42 balances incredible performance and cruising comfort in a very compact package; something that is not very easy in bluewater cruising. That's why it's designed using a foam core to make it lightweight by reducing weight wherever possible. This vessel will most likely never let you down if you want to circumnavigate the bluewater on a high-performance boat that is safe and comfortable.
So if you've been looking for a real sailing catamaran that doubles up as a very comfortable liveaboard sailboat , look no further than the Dolphin 42.
{{boat-info="/boats/catana-50"}}
Regarded as the best built and most stylish cruising multihull, the Catana 50 is a very huge catamaran sailboat. Measuring about 50 feet long with a beam of about 26 feet, this is an amazing catamaran that will test your sailing skills as a single sailor or if you're planning to sail shorthanded.
This boat is designed with a rig that gives you the option of using either a screecher or a self-tending jib. This may seem complex since the sheets are led to winches near each wheel while all other controls lead to a centerline winch that's located in the cockpit. But even with that, this sailboat can be easily tacked once on the course.
This is a real performance-oriented catamaran with efficient hulls and rigs allowing for top speed. This vessel is also designed with a long waterline and a subtle underwater shape at the bow to help in increasing volume while minimizing wave drag. The stern platforms can help in stretching the waterline length while also providing easy access from a dock or a dinghy. The board trunks are also very strong and sturdy to protect the integrity of the hulls if a collision occurs.
In essence, this is a very modern catamaran that's designed to safely make long-distance passages with ease. It is subdued in terms of styling but this doesn't mean that it falls short as far as performance is concerned.
Atlantic 42
{{boat-info="/boats/atlantic-42"}}
Designed in 1993, the A42 has cultivated a legion of fiercely loyal fans thanks to its efficiency and aesthetic. This is the smallest of the Atlantic cruising catamaran line and is hugely popular with sailors thanks to its ease of handling, ocean-going capabilities, and superb use of space. From the forward cockpit, pilothouse to the sleeping cabins, and brilliant galleys everything about this cat is a true classic.
Unlike most catamarans, the Atlantic 42 is designed with a waist-high cockpit that's located forward of the pilothouse just behind the mast. It brings forth a solid construction thanks to the large metal girder-like bearers that run across the bulkheads. This helps the vessel in having the utmost strength, better air circulation under the engine, and a high level of flexibility as far as the size of the engine and its positioning is concerned.
Initially, the boat's style and its outlook were considered conservative but it soon became clear that it is built of high-quality materials and to last. The internal construction of the boat is impressive, to say the least. The exterior looks very beautiful and perhaps much more beautiful than most boats today. Its large aft cabin accommodation is a top drawer while the space separating en suite heads and shower compartments are considered a bonus.
{{boat-info="/boats/fountaine-pajot-bahia-46"}}
If you were to board the French-built Fountaine Pajot Bahia 46, you'll agree that the high-quality of workmanship, layout, and efficient use of space is quite exciting, to say the least. This cat remains very popular among sailors thanks to its easy handling features and incredible performance under the sails. Well, this may not come as a surprise to many of us given that the Fountain Pajot is known for building some of the most remarkable cruising catamarans out there that it can be quite overwhelming to narrow down to a single vessel, but the Bahia 46 simply stands out.
This vessel is designed with hulls that are broader than those of many other catamarans. It's also designed with centerboards and daggerboards that are meant to enhance its performance. These are essential in minimizing draft while ensuring reliability, generous bilge, and in helping to protect the rudders and propellers.
This boat is big enough to manage any type of serious offshore sailing. This is one of the best cruising catamarans for anyone looking for the right vessel for long-distance sailing. This vessel has a very more generous rig than most cruising catamarans, which is essential in enhancing its performance. The six-post Bimini is very strong and clean and can perfectly hold dinghies.
In terms of its look, the Bahia 36 is designed with gorgeous lines with the deck and hulls sculpted with lines that add a touch of elegance to the overall look of an already excellent catamaran sailboat.
Gemini 105MC
{{boat-info="/boats/gemini-105mc"}}
Whether you're looking for a comfortable catamaran vessel to take you for a weekend sailing trip or a long sabbatical vacation on the oceans, the Gemini 105MC is a very satisfactory liveaboard catamaran vessel that offers spacious accommodation, thoughtful design, and a stable cruising platform for anyone who wants to have some good time on the water.
Designed by the legendary Tony Smith, this is somewhat a sailing cottage. Like a land cottage, it is cozy, comfortable, and very safe. This is essentially a 35 feet catamaran that offers great value for any sailing looking for a reasonably-priced catamaran sailboat for the weekend or holiday cruising.
This boat is designed with incredibly slim hulls, which are teardrop-shaped with flat bottoms and smaller wetted surface area. This is to ensure that drag is minimized and to lead to more leeway under sail. Each of the boat's hull is designed with a kick-up centerboard is of great importance in enhancing the vessel's windward pointing capability. This boat also has its rudders raised to enable it to seamlessly cruise in shallow waters where most vessels would otherwise run aground.
The eccentric narrow beam, which measures about 40% of the boat's length, is very different from today's 50%. However, its low center helps in keeping its stable, upright, and of course, safe.
Lagoon 450 F
{{boat-info="/boats/lagoon-450-f"}}
If you're looking for a catamaran sailboat that offers prestige at its peak, look no further than the Lagoon 450. This cat is widely known for offering an all-around comfort without compromising its beauty, spaciousness, class, and elegance. This is an elaborate French catamaran that brings to the table fantastic craftsmanship while leaving nothing to chance.
This is a very safe 45 feet catamaran that's not just comfortable but also very luxurious. The deck layout is centered on an amazing flybridge, which has been redesigned and redefined to offer both the traditional and modern outlook. You can very easily access the bridge, engine controls, steering station in a matter of seconds. As a result, this boat is efficiently designed to give you the ultimate control of almost every situation while on the water.
The spacious and luxurious interior of this boat is worth experiencing. The cabins and saloons are perfectly lit. We're talking about four to six cabins, eight to twelve berths, and up to four bathrooms. In essence, this boat can comfortably sleep eight to twelve people. This boat is designed to offer ultra-modern accommodations and amenities that come with little but amazing touches; all designed to make your life inside the catamaran enjoyable.
{{boat-info="/boats/gunboat-62"}}
An original performance catamaran cruiser from the iconic Gunboat manufacturer, the Gunboat 62 has truly cemented its place as one of the best catamaran sailboats to ever grace the oceans. Honestly speaking, this cat-inspired a whole range of other incredible boats including HH66 Catamaran and the Balance 526.
This is a boat that can perform admirably well in storms with a speed of over 35 knots despite being built using epoxy and E-glass with carbon-fiber structural components. It's designed with a distinct angular outline than most catamaran sailboats of its size and category. This is a vessel that was built for people looking to add more stuff and more gear for their voyages. In other words, you can have all the gear and equipment on this boat and still outperform a racing monohull of the same size.
Thanks to its lightweight feature, this vessel can sail upwind at speeds of over 17 knots and pinch up to 30 degrees. Just for comparison, the Gunboat 62 can tack through 95 degrees and still outperform the best racing monohulls. This boat is designed with a comfortable helm seat that offers 360-degree visibility as well as plenty of storage space, a functional working surface, and a luxurious cabin. Like many performance catamarans, the Gunboat 62 can attain about 20 knots if the conditions are right.
Privilege 615
{{boat-info="/boats/privilege-615"}}
Combining elegance, comfort, and style, the Privilege 615 is a lovely catamaran sailboat that seems to be always ready for a long offshore voyage. The roots of this incredible cat can be traced back to the 1980s when Philippe Jeantot opened up a boat-building company in France. As one of the best productions from the company, the privilege 615 sports a flybridge that comes complete with twin wheels, a sprawling sunbed, and other excellent features that will make your bluewater cruising a breeze.
Whether you want the charter version or a privately-owned version, the Privilege 615 is one of the most versatile catamaran sailboats. Step inside this vessel and you'll instantly notice the quality of the wood finish and the elegance of design. The advanced navigation station is not only ultra-modern but is perfectly stationed at a dedicated corner where you can control everything while still having a conversation with your friends and family.
This boat comes with multiple sleeping configurations to ensure that you and your guests can live aboard the boat for months on end. Although the boat appears like some sort of maze on the inside, you'll easily get used to it when you enter the forward section. That's not all; this boat has gorgeous lines that make the exterior beautiful just like the interior. Its sleek profile, incredible volume, and versatile interior make it one of the best catamaran sailboats out there.
There you have it; these are the best catamaran sailboats out there. It doesn't matter the one you choose, these cats will make your day out on the water and will serve you just right for your offshore voyages or for day sailing along the bays.

Best luxury yacht: 7 ultimate luxury cruisers you can buy
- Toby Hodges
- March 14, 2024
Toby Hodges takes a look at all the nominees and the winner of the best luxury yacht category in the European Yacht of the Year Awards
The definition of the best luxury yacht will differ according to personal opinion and from boat to boat. This year’s nominees in the luxury yacht category of the European Yacht of the Year Awards proved that perfectly.
The European Yacht of the Year awards are selected by a broad panel of expert judges from across the globe. These are people who spend their professional lives sailing and comparing yachts, so you can be certain that the yachts which stand out in this field are truly the best of the best on the market.
The best luxury yachts
Best luxury yacht winner 2024 – arcona 50.
When you enter the fiercely competitive 50ft luxury performance yacht market you better get it right. And the jury felt Arcona managed that. This watershed design for the traditional Swedish brand, by X-Yachts co-founder and former designer Niels Jeppesen, is a big, contemporary new Arcona, one that sees it move away from its cruiser-racer heritage and classic interiors.
The on trend styling inside and out is backed up by a premium level of build and finish quality and sailing performance – particularly if you have the performance sails, traveller and deep (2.95m) keel options the test boat carried, although the latter does limit your berthing and anchoring options.
While I doubt it’ll be raced or will suit typical bluewater use, it offers a purity of performance push-button sailing: a handsome prospect upwind in a light breeze, it transforms into a powerful reaching machine with stacks of control.
As chairman of our jury, Jochen Rieker, puts it: “The boat certainly did not win for her somewhat borrowed looks. She wins by checking all the boxes in all other respects. Slipping along gracefully in the lightest of airs, holding her stride and her balance in more demanding conditions, offering warmth, light and this reassuring feeling of utter quality down below – there simply isn’t anything to fault.”
Contest 50CS
The Contest 50CS, for example, is an archetype luxury cruising yacht, one built to the highest standards and that could take you to most waters in impeccable comfort. This model is, uniquely, available in two versions: this more conventional 50CS with aft master cabin, or the forward owner’s suite version on the aft cockpit Contest 49CS . We ran a full test on the latter after spending two days aboard in the North Sea, where that noticeably high freeboard, which may not aid boarding nor windage, helped keep us dry on deck in a steady Force 6 gusting 7.
As the 50CS proved, this Judel/Vrolijk design keeps slipping along in the light stuff too, providing enjoyable sailing in 6 knots breeze under a code sail. The centre cockpit offers a deep protected guest area, but also links well to the spacious aft deck.
And the Wetzels-Brown-designed interiors of Contests today are stunning and hard to match. The engineering, access to usable stowage, details and finish on the 50CS is first class and to get this level of quality at this size is special.
Both Contest and X-Yachts are early adopters of hybrid power, offering their bluewater cruisers with optional electric drives. For the XC 47 this was designed-in from the start to offer Oceanvolt’s award-winning new 25kW regenerative drive.
The XC 47 is another wonderfully engineered and thought out yacht for distance cruising, in particular for those who also enjoy hands-on helming pleasure. That should come as no surprise to any X aficionados, but what really struck me most about this yacht was the stowage, and the forethought needed to create that, together with how practical it has been made.
That may sound slightly anticlimactic but ask any long-term cruiser and stowage is always a priority. On deck, this constitutes a huge lazarette and sail locker, plus clever systems for launching a dinghy via davits and a liferaft canister, while below decks every square inch of space has been used effectively, with lockers hinged with gas struts.
It’s clear the Danish yard went to considerable time and effort, even building a full mock up of the interior that could be canted 20° each way.
If the deck saloon style looks didn’t sell this model to all – this is the first full non-Jeppesen designed X – the jury were converted once they’d taken the helm. ‘Quirky’ became ‘muscular and bold’. The ease with which it can be sailed from the cockpit was also appreciated.
While I understand many offshore cruisers like a protected centre cockpit and more sun protection, the attention to detail, stowage and practicalities, combined with the direct steering, motion and enjoyable sailing this X offers make it a standout new offering.
Jeanneau Yachts 55
Meanwhile the Jeanneau Yachts 55 stands out for different, unique reasons in this category, offering a completely new concept in comfort on deck while at anchor and a novel accommodation layout. Its focus is on outdoor living space.
What helps place this in a luxury bracket is not simply the price or the creative input of superyacht specialist design duo Philppe Briand and Andrew Winch, rather that its layout creates a palatial amount of private space for the owner’s suite. Guest cabins have their own direct access from the extensive cockpit via gullwing doors.
It certainly makes sense for solo owners or couples using it as a warm water apartment. How many people this will suit is another question, as it segregates any guests, crew or children from the galley and saloon.
I used the term monocat when I first viewed it, as the 55 really does attempt to mix the two worlds, particularly in terms of providing owner privacy and lounging space. Choose the rigid hard top and windshield and there’s a vast amount of covered area including a dinette and chart table – plus a bimini can shade all that extensive aft deck too.
The penalty comes in additional weight and wetted surface, and is felt in the handling and performance, the latter particularly in lighter breeze with the optional in-mast furling, self tacking headsail and shallow draught package we had. However, it’s set up to be easily managed from the mid cockpit with good visibility from the twin helms and easy circulation thanks to the ramped side decks. Full report in YW February 2024.
Best luxury yacht 2023
Best luxury yacht winner – oyster 495.
It is hard to imagine that the decor of a yacht can change its look and feel quite this much, yet the layout of this second 495, Eddie Jordan’s dramatic looking Tuga , is in fact identical to the first boat that I spent several days aboard last summer.
At its heart is a wonderfully (Humphreys) designed and engineered luxury bluewater cruiser conceived from the ground up, built in a new dedicated facility to a repeatable quality very few yards are capable of.
The 495 offers consistent passage making speeds in real voluminous comfort – whether enjoyed from the deep cockpit or the best-in-class aft cabin. Deck stowage and mechanical space is also superb.
Then factor in the family appeal of Oyster’s after sales and world rally programme and you start to appreciate the premium world this sub 50-footer gives access to.
The first yacht fully conceived under CEO Richard Hadida’s reign, this is also the smallest completely new Oyster 495 since 2005 – and it’s a triumph. It was our September 2022 cover star in which we featured the full review from our Oyster 495 three day test .
Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 60
The Oceanis Yacht 60 is a very different beast indeed to the 62 it replaces as flagship for the Beneteau range. The yard has learned plenty from the success of the First 53/OY 54 and wanted to create a 60 in this style and with the same deck layout (albeit larger and wider) and ease of circulation.
The construction experience of the smaller model clearly helped too, as this is a whopping five tonnes lighter than the bulky OY62 and with a deeper (2.6m) keel. The telling result is on the water. It feels sporty to helm and we averaged a knot slower than the single figure 6-8 knot windspeeds upwind and matched them reaching with Code 0 and a slight swell.
The vast cockpit works well, sheltered below the semi rigid bimini, it has plentiful lounging space with sailing systems led aft to the twin helms. The interior sees a 3+3 layout, where Beneteau wanted to get rid of the corridor effect of the OY62. The galley is forward to help open out space, while the forward suite with offset berth and headboard aft works well to give space with privacy.
This is an attractive, voluminous yacht that leaves a good overall impression whether under sail, on or below decks.
Ice 62 Targa
It all looks pretty funky below decks on the Ice 62 Targa too, especially if you’re watching the masthead fore and aft cameras (plus bow and prop cam) on central displays mounted in the saloon while you slip out of the dock! The Ice is a seriously impressive, contemporary yacht, one that in looks, performance and execution, won over many of the judges.
The first to launch is a highly customised project for a passionate sailing owner who covers long distances solo – he’d already sailed it 3,000 miles around the Med that autumn. It’s impressively stiff, sails handsomely and, thanks to a telescopic keel, points well. We matched single figure windspeeds, and clocked up to the high 9s in 12 knots wind.
Umberto Felci’s team spent 4,000 hours on the design, providing lots of space and light to the interior and a chillout zone in the semi raised saloon. This was easily the coolest looking yacht, with its aggressive reverse bow, chamfered gunwales and carbon T-top bimini, and all engineered and built to a high standard.

10 Best Catamaran Brands
Shopping for a new catamaran can be intimidating, even as consumers have more resources than ever to help them research from the comfort of their own home before they even contact a yacht broker. The great news is that there are a lot of great catamaran brands on the market right now. For us consumers, the catamaran market has evolved rapidly from what it was only just a few short years ago when monohulls were favored. On the flip-side, this can make it even more challenging to figure out which catamaran brands are the very best.
If you are a beginner in cruising catamarans, this article will help you learn the best brands that are out there with the best reputation amongst boaters. This article will help you get started in the world of catamarans, and I am trying to make it as beginner-friendly as possible. The catamaran brands on this list are mainly production boat companies, but some of them do offer custom designs. However, the added benefit of most of these brands is that there are many options on the used market. You will always be able to shop around for a good deal no matter where you are in the world.
Here are some of the best catamaran brands on the market today:
Lagoon – Groupe Beneteau
Lagoon is a French boatbuilder with an excellent reputation and sells the largest number of catamarans per year. The brand started back in 1984 and was one of the first catamaran brands to really convince people of the concept of multihulls. The philosophy of the Lagoon brand is good design, high-quality construction, and a decent cruising performance under sail. In other words, a Lagoon is the dream of every fan of sailing that looks for a catamaran that can provide everything, whether that is a fun toy for summer sailing trips or a year-round liveaboard yacht. What Lagoon did right, and the reason it has proven to be so popular is that it listened to its customers. That is why every new Lagoon catamaran has more space, more efficient layouts, and is always more comfortable than their previous version. There is no wonder why they have so many repeat customers.
Lagoon makes 9 sailing catamaran models and 2 powercat models, ranging in length from 40 to 78 feet. It also used to make shorted boats like the Lagoon 380 at 37 feet, but unfortunately, it was discontinued. You can find a Lagoon on the used market starting at $150,000 (like a 2002-2007 Lagoon 380) and as high as $5 million USD for their top of the line fully spec’d Lagoon Seventy 7, which comes with a jacuzzi on deck.

Fountaine Pajot
Fountaine-Pajot is a French maritime construction brand that is specializing in catamarans. The company was established in 1976, but it launched its first sailing catamaran in 1983 and its first powercat in 1998. This brand is now famous for building both sailing and power catamarans that have a beautiful and innovative design, superior handling, excellent seaworthiness, and cruising comfort. Also, Fountaine Pajot was one of the first catamaran brands that was manufacturing their boats with environmental protection in mind. So, all of their models have options to include renewable energy sources. Their ECO-Cruising and SMART-Cruising options considerably reduce their yachts’ carbon footprint and provide the necessary clean energy for their sailboats.
Fountaine-Pajot makes both sailing catamarans and powercats, ranging in length from 40 to 67 feet. It also used to make shorted boats like the Lagoon 380 at 37 feet, but unfortunately, it was discontinued. You can find a Lagoon on the used market starting at $100,000-150,000 (like a 1990-2005 Fountaine Pajot Athena 38) and as high as $3.5 million USD for their top of the line fully spec’d Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67, which comes with a jacuzzi on the front deck.

Leopard is a boatbuilder located in South Africa and produces some of the best and most luxurious catamarans. You will find Fountain Pajor catamarans for sale also under the name “Robertson & Caine” because some Leopard cats are built by Robertson & Caine company. Leopards are mainly designed to be luxurious, big, and comfortable, but that usually comes at a cost, both in price tag and sailing speed and maneuverability.
Leopard Catamarans was established in 2000 their partnership with South African builder Robertson and Caine. This company was manufacturing custom-designed catamarans for the global yacht charter company The Moorings. While Leopard was focusing on sailing catamarans in the beginning, in 2007, they started making powercats as well.
Leopard is always designing their boats to have the optimal balance between interior space and performance, sheltered helm cockpit designed for offshore cruising and single-handed sailing, large lounge areas, optimal comfort, and ease of maintenance.
Nowadays, Leopard is making sailing catamarans between 42 and 58 feet and powercats between 50 and 53 feet. You can find a Leopard on the used market starting at $180,000 (like a Leopard 38) in good condition and as high as $2 million USD for their top of the line fully spec’d Leopard 58; however, they are not as luxurious as some of the other brand’s top-of-the-line models.

Catana catamarans are a little bit more performance-oriented. They have features that make them sail faster and be more easily maneuverable than some of the other catamaran brands on the list. Many of their boats come with a feature called daggerboard that will help you sail faster upwind, something that most catamarans struggle with. Catana Group was originally called Poncin Yachts and has been building catamarans in France since 2001. It is famous for producing catamarans for owners who most often want to go bluewater sailing around the world comfortably and safely with a high-performance boat. This is not a famous brand, but it grows in popularity very fast. Year by year, I have noticed more and more Catana catamarans in the marinas I visit.
Catana Catamarans are built using foam sandwich vacuum infusion technology combined with carbon and aramid fiber. This combination guarantees the strength of the hull, significant weight savings, and because of this fact, higher speed.
Catana offers new boats from 42 to 70 feet. In the past, they were building boats as long as 90 feet. You can find a Catana on from the early 2000s’ on the used market for as low as $250,000, and as high as $4 million USD for a top of the line full spec’d brand new one.
![luxury catamaran brands Catana Catamarans](https://bettersailing.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Catana-Catamarans-1024x683.jpg)
Nautitech is another catamaran brand located in France; I guess there is a pattern here. They have built a reputation for designing catamarans that are robust, seaworthy, and capable of putting sailing back into the heart of the liveaboard experience without compromising on comfort. Anyone familiar with catamarans can quickly appreciate the innovative nature of a Nautitech cat design. The brand was also the first one to introduce the concept of liveaboard living, which combines the saloon and cockpit into one spacious, functional living area.
Nautitech offers new boats from 40 to 57 feet. You can find a Nautitech on from the early 2000s’ on the used market (Like the Nautitech 40) for as low as $180,000. However, a new top-of-the-line Nautitech 54 can be spec’d up to $1.5 million USD; though, they are not as luxurious as some of the other brand’s top-of-the-line models.

The brand was founded in 1985 in France. Privilège Catamarans offer unparalleled expertise, know-how, and experience that facilitates the construction of some of the best catamarans on the market today. They can provide luxurious liveaboard life beyond coastal borders. Its elegant hull design ensures superb stability and comfort making then one of the best catamaran brands in the world right now. Every catamaran is custom-built according to the owner’s preferences and handcrafted with great craftsmanship and the finest materials.
The company specializes in the design and manufacture of some of the best, and luxurious bluewater catamarans on the water. Every new Privilege cat is built after multiple consultations between the shipyard and the owner. You can decide to either keep the catamaran in its pure and elegant look and also keep the cost as low as possible or to change it to your personal preferences and make it as high-end as you can afford.
Privilège makes both sailing catamarans and powercats, ranging in length from 51 to 75 feet. It also used to make shorted boats like the Privilege 435 at 43 feet, but unfortunately, they are now focusing on larger yachts. You can find a Privilege from the early 2000s’ on the used market starting at $300,000 (like the Privilege 435) but can easily surpass $5 million USD for their top of the line fully spec’d Privilege 745 or 740.

Gemini
Gemini is one of the few catamaran brands that make its boats in the US. It is a subsidiary of Performance Cruising Inc., and they have been making catamarans since 1981. Honestly, Gemini catamarans might not be the most good-looking and luxurious, but they are affordable and sail well. For that reason, they definitely deserve a spot on the list with the best catamaran brands.
You can find a used Gemini cat in good condition in good condition from the early 1990s, starting at around 50k and a newer model for as high as 500k. Overall this is a very affordable brand, and you will definitely enjoy one without breaking the bank.

Seawind
Seawind Catamarans is a catamaran designer and builder located in Australia, producing high-end performance cruising sail catamarans since 1982. They have produced some of the world’s best and award-winning designs.
The Seawind brand is especially good for people looking for a catamaran that is not overly luxurious or expensive and is probably looking for a more reasonably sized yacht; however, they do offer a couple of larger, more luxurious models as well.
Seawind offers new boats from 35 to 52 feet. You can find one on from the early 2000s’ on the used market for as low as $150,000, like a Seawind 1000. However, a new top-of-the-line Seawind 1600 can be spec’d up to around $1 million USD.
![luxury catamaran brands Seawind Catamarans](https://bettersailing.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Seawind-Catamarans.jpg)
Sunreef Yachts
Sunreef is the world’s leading manufacturer of luxury sailing and power multihulls. Each catamaran, motor yacht, and superyacht they make is a custom vessel. The company was established in 2002 in Gdansk, Poland but a Frenchman and was the first brand to build a 74-foot bluewater cruising catamaran.
This brand has pulled all the stops when it comes to luxury and comfort. Whether you are looking for a family-friendly liveaboard cat, a luxurious private floating villa, a dazzling party boat, or a fishing expedition superyacht fantasy, their designers will turn your vision into reality. Just be prepared to pay the price.
Sunreef makes both large sailing catamarans and powercats, ranging in length from 50 to 150 feet! You can find a Sunreef from the early the Mid-2000s on the used market starting at $700,000 (like the Sunreef 62) but can easily surpass $15 million USD for Sunreef 102. They also have the Sunreef MM460 CAT on their catalog, which is one of the largest catamarans even created. However, unfortunately, I was not able to get even an approximate price quote on it. If I had to guess, I would say at least $50 million to have one built.

Bali Catamarans is another brand of the well-known Catana shipyard. And it is also the newest brand on the list established in 2014. Catana catamarans are the golden standard when it comes to high-speed cats. However, in 2014, they decided to start a production brand of fast, light, and easily maneuverable cruising catamarans. The Bali Catamarans collection has a unique design mainly; it has no mesh “trampoline” in the front cockpit. It features an open-space interior, a huge refrigerator in the inner saloon, and many other uncommon features.
Bali offers new boats from 39 to 50 feet. You can find a Bali on from 2014-2015 on the used market for as low as $300k (like the Bali 4.0). However, a new top-of-the-line Bali 5.7 can spec’d up to over a $2 million USD.
![luxury catamaran brands Bali Catamarans](https://bettersailing.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Bali-Catamarans.jpg)
Final Thoughts
In order to compile the best list of catamarans, I took into account the built quality, comfort seaworthiness but also the number of yachts for sale on the used market. In my point of view, I shouldn’t have put a custom catamaran builder on this list because you wouldn’t be able to find one for sale anyway. For most of these brands, there are many boats for sale on the used market in pretty good condition and at reasonable prices.

The Power Catamaran Compilation
- By Yachting Staff
- Updated: December 21, 2018
Power Catamarans have been growing leaps and bounds in popularity, and, in lengths and widths. And for good reason. These cruise-centric yachts offer homelike livability for avid travelers, are fuel efficient and are fairly intuitive to run. Power cats are popular in the bareboat charter market too, for these very reasons.
Here, we take a look at 12 catamarans ranging from a cruising-couple-size 36-footer to a 78-footer for friends, family and some more friends. And there are myriad power options: outboards, diesel inboards, hybrid or even all-solar power.
Fountaine Pajot MY44
![luxury catamaran brands fountain pajot my44](https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/uploads/2021/09/1_fountain_pajot-1024x576.jpg)
The Fountaine Pajot MY44 , a creation of Italian architect Pierangelo Andreani and French designer Daniel Andrieu, has a main deck that’s open from the aft-deck seating all the way forward to the starboard helm station. The sense of spaciousness is significant, for several reasons. First, four glass panels aft can all slide to port, creating an indoor-outdoor space with the aft deck and salon. In the salon, 32-inch-high windows extend for 12 feet down the sides of the yacht, with three sections per side, bringing in natural light along with the three forward panes that comprise the windshield. Finally, 6-foot-6-inch headroom provides vertical clearance, with a 21-foot-7-inch beam that adds interior roominess while keeping the yacht stable.

The ideas about which solar panels, electric motors, inverters and the like to use — and more importantly, Michael Köhler says, how to configure them — became the basis for the brand Silent-Yachts. The company offers 55-, 64- and 79-foot catamarans that run on solar-electric propulsion. The Silent 55 premiered this fall, and the 64 is sold out for the next two years, Köhler says.

Horizon PC74
![luxury catamaran brands Horizon PC74](https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/uploads/2021/09/horizon-pc74-1-1-1024x461.jpg)
As founder and director of The Powercat Company, a Horizon Power Catamarans distributor, Stuart Hegerstrom had long believed that catamaran builders needed to design their yachts to more stylish standards.
“The boats were very boxy,” he says, based on his years of experience with cats in the charter market. He and his partner, Richard Ford, asked Horizon to produce models that had high-end finishes and looked good inside and out.
The Horizon team brought in mega-yacht designer JC Espinosa to work with its own craftsmen. The result aboard the Horizon PC74 is a catamaran with exterior styling, layout and functionality that should appeal to private and charter owners alike.

![luxury catamaran brands aquila 36](https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/uploads/2021/09/aquila-36-1-1024x576.jpg)
The Aquila 36 is a departure from her sisterships in that she is an outboard-powered, express-cruiser-style catamaran, but she also adheres to MarineMax’s philosophies.
With a single main living level from bow to stern and a beam of 14 feet 7 inches, the Aquila 36 is like a bowrider on steroids. She has seating that can handle 20 adults for outings and barbecues, and there are two staterooms below, one in each hull, for family weekending. The staterooms have nearly queen-size berths, en suite heads, stowage and 6-foot-6-inch headroom.

Lagoon is a division of Groupe Beneteau, the world’s largest builder of sailing yachts, and the Lagoon Seventy 8 Powercat is a developmental sistership of its Seventy 7 super sailing cat. The Seventy series yachts are built at Construction Navale Bordeaux in France, which had to add a new yard to construct these catamarans because they require separate stern molds for the power and sail versions.

Horizon PC60
![luxury catamaran brands horizon pc60](https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/uploads/2021/09/dewar_130717_9262-1024x683.jpg)
To understand the Horizon PC60 power catamaran , you need to put aside preconceived notions about midsize yacht amenities. For example, main-deck master suites are the province of yachts over 100 feet length overall. Incorrect. This 60-footer has an elegant and spacious owner’s stateroom on the same level as the salon. If you want a 14-foot center console tender on a 60-foot yacht, you have to tow it. Wrong again. On the PC60, you hoist it onto the upper deck, no problem.

The Polish builder is one of several European builders (including Evo, Fjord, Wider and Wally) transforming the open day-boat category with creative designs. Beyond its hydrofoils, the 40 Open Sunreef Power ‘s cockpit has side “wings” along the aft gunwales that fold out at anchor, widening the beam from 17 feet to 22 feet 9 inches.

Many yachts boast eco chops because they have a handful of solar panels that power the microwave or navigation lights. The Solarwave 64 , launched last summer, has the potential to run on sunshine alone. The vessel’s 42 solar panels generate 15 kW that are stored in batteries weighing about 1,300 pounds. They connect to electric motors.

The owner, his captain, and a representative at Technical Marine UK worked with Alia, Azure Yacht Design, and Diana Yacht Design to bring the Sea Club 53 to fruition. The Azure team spearheaded the exterior design and layout, while the Diana designers are responsible for the naval architecture underpinning the hull. The yacht was initially constructed in three parts—the hull, superstructure, and helideck—that were joined together late in 2022. Alia Yachts president Gökhan Çelik says an ambitiously rapid build “brought the project from dream to floating reality in a little over two years.”

Sea Club 53 is one of the most capable and flexible superyachts in the sub-500 GT size range, according to Alia. The 174-footer combines the space and capability of a support vessel with the luxurious amenities of a modern cruiser. “The launch of project Sea Club marks the start of a whole new concept in the yachting industry,” explains Onne Logger of Azure Yacht Design. “A unique combination of luxurious guest accommodation, enormous storage for tenders and toys, and an unparalleled number of entertainment possibilities.”
The newcomer will be capable of storing a helicopter, a submersible, a 43-foot tender, a 26-foot crew tender, two sailing catamarans, two dinghies, two Waverunners, and other dive gear and equipment. In addition, there is a giant storage space on the lower deck for water toys and a dedicated water sports center. The yacht also carries over 20 modular water park elements, allowing the crew to create an inflatable oceanic playground for guests on demand.
Featuring a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the SeaClub 53 offers a generous internal volume of 499 GT. Designed for entertaining, the yacht showcases huge interior and exterior decks ideal for parties and social gatherings. She is also outfitted with one lavish owner’s suite and two generous guest cabins. As for grunt, the cruiser is powered by twin Caterpillar engines that enable a top speed of 15 knots.
The SeaClub 53 will undergo final outfitting and sea trials before it is delivered in August.

Seb Seward to lead Sydney-based outpost for ultra-luxury superyacht brand
Go back to the e-newsletter
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has made its first appointment in the Asia Pacific region, recruiting Seb Seward as Vice President and General Manager, LATTE can reveal.
The former longtime British Airways head of Joint Ventures, Seward officially commenced in the role on Monday this week with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. His appointment follows the launch last week of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s inaugural Asia Pacific program which, currently, is scheduled to begin from Singapore on 30 December 2025 aboard the brand’s third superyacht, Luminara .
Evrima , The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collections’ first vessel, launched in October 2022 and the second superyacht, Ilma , is earmarked to debut in September 2024.

Speaking exclusively with LATTE at ILTM Asia Pacific in Singapore on Wednesday, Seward revealed he is relocating from the UK to Australia this week, where he will head up the brand in the region. His appointment comes as the ultra luxury yachting company prepares to boost awareness with the trade and consumers in Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific.
Reporting to Kristian Anderson, SVP of Global Sales, Seward has been tasked to establish a regional headquarters, likely in Sydney, and develop a local sales and reservations team.
His background with BA (for 12 years) and the airline industry was focused on partner elements and centred on relationship and revenue management, creating sales strategies, etc – skills he says will be transferable to his first position in the cruise segment.
Seward’s history in the aviation sector isn’t dissimilar to that of Anderson’s, who previously worked with Qatar Airways and Aeromexico for 11 years before entering the cruise segment with Silversea and then Uniworld for a combined nine years prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection three years ago .
The superyacht segment of the cruise industry is a burgeoning growth market, with Seward saying the brand is a pioneer in the space of bringing an ultra-luxury hotel to the sea.
“We believe we have a differentiated early-mover advantage in the potential creation of a vast, $5B luxury yacht cruise market,” he told LATTE.
![luxury catamaran brands](https://latteluxurynews.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/seb-seward-vp-gm-apac-ritz-carlton-yacht-934x1400-1.jpg)
Seward estimates over 50% of guests who sail with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are ‘new to cruise’, “so we’re not really going after other cruise companies customers. Thanks to the Marriott Bonvoy program, we’re capturing a market that maybe hasn’t thought about cruising before. Myself included.”
He and his young family have only just taken their first-ever cruise, sailing aboard Evrima in the Mediterranean to get a firsthand taste of the product, service and experience.
On the subject of Bonvoy, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has also been leading Marriott’s Luxury Group customer satisfaction scores, up against well-established hotel brands including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts. “Our customer satisfaction scores are already comparable with established Ritz-Carlton properties, despite launching less than 2-years ago.”
“Currently we only have the one yacht, Evrima , which is proving very popular. As we expand to three yachts and diversify our range of itineraries and destinations, there will be further opportunities to expand our customer base to more traditional markets,” Seward told LATTE .
![luxury catamaran brands](https://latteluxurynews.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Observation-Room-interiorEvrima-Room-by-Christopher-Cypert-scaled.jpg)
In his first week, the Englishman has been thrown straight in the deep-end representing the brand at the luxury travel show. He says Australians are similar to Americans in that they tuned into the brand quite early.
“Some of the other markets that we’re speaking to here at ILTM [Asia Pacific] have a much shorter booking window and haven’t been able to access inventory because we’ve been full. With three yachts sailing from mid-2025, there will be increased availability.”
Seward said The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s Asia Pacific HQ will include a shopfront presence and a regional reservation and support centre for customers and the trade.
“One of my key tasks will be to set up a physical presence as well as building out a team.”
“We’re conscious of the fact that our partners and customers need to call Malta or Fort Lauderdale, and the time zones aren’t ideal for anyone. So we’re certainly going to set up a couple of agents in Sydney,” he confirmed.
![luxury catamaran brands](https://latteluxurynews.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1.-@franciscomartinez__Grand-Suite-Evrima_-HighRes.jpg)
The Asia Pacific outpost will also require a small number of sales manager-type roles, “maybe in Australia, maybe in Asia, maybe in both”. Cruise specialists with bilingual skills will be preferred “so the full region can be serviced”.
“A lot of the advisors that we’ve spoke to here in Singapore are very positive. They’ve heard about us, they want to know more, they want to help sell us.”
Trade events, customer and agency events are also in the pipeline “to get the word out there and make sure people understand what we are and how The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection differs from traditional cruising.”
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s inaugural Asia Pacific program features 10 itineraries, mostly sailing from Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Seward wasn’t able to comment on the three month void in Luminara ‘s schedule between Athens and Singapore in Q4 for 2025.
“We would like to, in the future, extend that within the region and then head down to Australia and New Zealand. We don’t have a defined plan around that at the moment, but it is a vision and it is being discussed,” he concluded.

A Chat With the CEO of the Most Successful Luxury Travel Brand You’ve Probably Never Heard of
A manda Teale runs the most successful luxury travel and lifestyle firm you probably never heard, namely because she rarely, if ever, advertises or seeks media attention. Minerva Private Travel thrives on word of mouth, with a black book of well-heeled customers who whisper tales of once-in-a-lifetime, and totally unique, experiences in the vacation and tourism realm.
Clients come to Teale assured that no two journeys planned by Minerva are alike. In the spirit of the great international hotel concierge who can make anything happen for the elite traveler (short of illegality, of course), Teale’s firm can plan a bespoke adventure from scratch based on a client’s desires, or provide resources for travelers to enhance segments of a trip they’ve conceived on their own.
Teale put her trip planning down for a moment out in Newdigate, U.K. to talk about what inspires her while assembling journeys that have the ability to change both hearts and minds.
InsideHook: Can you describe what Minerva does? If you were explaining it casually to an acquaintance at a cocktail party?
Amanda Teale: We pride ourselves on service and personalized experiences that transcend the ordinary. Our commitment goes way beyond booking flights and hotels. We provide white-glove service, anticipating needs and ensuring seamless travel. It’s like having a personal concierge by your side, and we become trusted companions on the journey.
Do you find there is any limit to what people are willing to invest in such a trip?
Luxury isn’t just about price. It’s about making people feel like you really care about their journey, their experience, their dreams and making them feel really special. So many people miss this.
What led you to this special field? How did you find yourself in a position to plan and organize these special experiences?
I’ve always been a self-proclaimed people pleaser, with a heart that yearns for the skies. Ever since my earliest memories, the allure of travel captivated me. There’s a certain magic in the ascent of planes that I find endlessly fascinating. My favorite thing to do as a child was to go to the airport and watch the planes take off. This blend of desires drives me to elevate every experience, constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance and enrich the journey for my clients.
Is it true you don’t advertise and you don’t search for clients because they all come to you?
Yes. We rely on word of mouth. It was the first rule I made when I started my company, and I stuck by it. It’s a long game, but worth it in the end.
What do your clients come to you looking for in an experience? Is bespoke the way of the future on the high-end luxury side?
Clients come to Minerva for our knowledge, our passion and our dedication to delivering a great experience. Every request is different. We could be booking out a ranch, taking over a private island or just handling a flight from L.A. to New York. Our clients know that no matter how big or small, complicated or simple, they will get the same level of service and I believe that is our unique selling point.
A Chat With the Four Seasons CEO on the State of Luxury Travel
How do you manage Minerva’s 24-hour concierge system?
We make sure we’re always available for our clients. I rely on the help of my incredible team and the simple use of WhatsApp. Whether a client contacts us from the East Coast of the U.S. to the far south of Italy, we will always have it covered. It’s part of our commitment to the client.
Are you seeing changes or evolution in the luxury travel world?
I find the demand for privacy on land and privacy in the air (for convenience and the avoidance of disruption) increased. For my clients, when flying commercial, traveling through the airport is no longer an option, if it can be avoided. Tarmac service is in high demand, and we book transport from plane door to car door. We also can provide private security and a private immigration process. This sort of service is the norm for the luxury traveller now — and the offerings are on the up, I’m pleased to say.
Where would you like to see your operation in five years’ time?
I’m looking forward to still being in the position of having the best people in the business on my team. The greatest achievement in my opinion is to provide an environment where the people who work for you love their jobs, love coming to work and believe in your business as passionately as you do .
Tell us a couple stories of the most amazing experiences you’ve assembled and the craziest requests you satisfied.
We put in place 10 white BMWs perfectly lined up at a private airport suite, on the tarmac, ready to transport our clients to the plane door. That was a great sight and a special feeling for the clients who were made to feel like royalty.
We completely privatized one of the most romantic spots on the whole of the Amalfi Coast in Italy for a breath-taking wedding proposal. I am pleased to say she said yes.
I’d like to think I organized the rain and the lightening, but this part was down to nature in Ibiza. We produced the most sensational night and atmosphere on record for a show at the Ushuaia Beach Hotel. We had our clients placed at the top VIP area to coincide with the natural phenomenon, thanks to our great relationship with the club. The clients are still talking about it.
We often accompany our clients on trips at their request (especially small groups) so they don’t have to worry about anything. I have also been known to go to the airport to meet clients personally, if I am in the right place at the right time. If I’m not, I will often send a member of my team. We do that not just to make them feel special, but largely because I genuinely like to see them and welcome them.
It’s all part of the service.
