A Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended in dark green with a light green background

Singular artistry. a tranquil haven..

A masterpiece of transcendent perfection, Phantom Extended Series II offers tastemakers a serene and spacious realm to recharge in — before taking on the world. Its exquisite features and elevated nuances epitomise Rolls-Royce artisanship, solidifying it as an icon in our legendary history.

Interior view of a Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended from the rear seat

An expansive rear cabin of Grace White and Iceland Moss leather makes for a sumptuous sanctuary, where escapism is the main objective. Personal legacies are built beneath the Shooting Star Headliner — a mesmerising celestial display crafted from hundreds of fibre-optic lights.

In this acoustic sanctum, sound is made to be immersed in. The Bespoke Audio system is tuned by expert ears, ensuring only the richest studio-quality sounds break through the silence.

The rear seat Coolbox houses hand-blown flutes and chilled bottles of your favourite refreshments, kept at the perfect temperature for crisp sips. Enjoy a celebratory glass by yourself or toast a special occasion with your inner circle.

Enjoy a supremely quiet journey where your thoughts are the only things heard. Or rather, transform the rear cabin into a venue for elevated entertainment free from outside distractions.

A Rolls-Royce umbrella is discreetly stored within the door, which is fitted with a drainage channel to clear away excess water. From light showers to heavy downpours, passengers are suitably equipped with this concealed accessory.

The interior Dark Amber Wood Veneer captures the tastemaker spirit with fine particles of striated, sparkling metal. A vision of rare beauty, this intricate creation required attentive eyes and the most delicate hands.

A glass enclosure, known formally as The Gallery, runs across the fascia of every Phantom Extended Series II. For sculptors of time and taste, it provides ample space to showcase Bespoke works of art such this — the limited-edition Silent Motion Gallery. Milled from aluminium, it imagines the silk shawl of the Spirit of Ecstasy cascading through the wind.

The Silhouette of Phantom Extended Series II is one of regal magnitude. Finished in an opulent shade of Bespoke Olivin, it scintillates under the light.

The gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy is a crowning jewel and marvel of luxurious elegance. Soaring above Phantom Extended Series II’s bonnet, she bestows guidance onto each of her passengers as they travel in tranquillity.

Encircling the marque’s self-levelling monogram, 22” polished Disc Wheels reinforce a clean, stately, and elegant aesthetic. As the motor car advances, they rotate as if floating above the ground, taking passengers on a drive renowned for its Magic Carpet Ride sensation.

The grille of a Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended in the dark

The Illuminated Grille is an imposing facade, emanating a lustrous glow against the shadows of night. The grille’s upper polished bar perfectly aligns with new Daytime Running Lights, forming a powerful and prominent horizon line.

Starlight Headlights evoke the astral beauty observed in a clear night sky. Appearing for the first time on Phantom Extended Series II, they glisten amidst the darkness with an intricate show of 580 laser-cut stars.

The first electric rolls-royce truly does glide along like a spectre.

2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre

A spectre is defined as a ghost, phantom or apparition. It floats around silently, untethered to reality. Rarely has there ever been a more appropriately named car than the Rolls-Royce Spectre. The Spectre is the first ever series production Rolls-Royce with a fully electric propulsion system and more than ever before, it truly lives up to the brand’s traditional naming scheme.

From the brand’s early days in 1908, one of the hallmarks of Rolls-Royce was the use of nameplates like Silver Ghost, Phantom, Wraith and others. This was premised on the exceptionally smooth and quiet operation of the well-engineered and hand-built machinery. A Rolls-Royce was a car in which passengers and drivers would be ensconced in luxury and isolated from the world outside. But none of the cars that have gone before had anything on the new Spectre in the quiet department.

The Spectre arrives a dozen years after Rolls-Royce built an experimental battery powered version of the Phantom. After showing it to customers, it was decided that the technology wasn’t quite ready for the brand’s discerning customers. But in the intervening years, parent company BMW has built quite a few plug-in hybrid and battery electric models and the technology and software has improved to the point where a zero emissions Rolls is now available.

Driving The Eletre: Is This Giant Electric SUV Still A Lotus?

Cathie wood s ark ups tesla stake first time since april, 5 things owners must know about nissan’s problematic vc-turbo engine.

However, instead of electrifying the Phantom, Rolls-Royce made an electric replacement for the outgoing Wraith coupe. The Spectre retains a clear visual DNA connection with the Wraith, but it has also undergone significant evolution. It remains a fastback two-door coupe with a long hood and rear hinged doors making it pretty much unique in the current automotive world. The roof and side glass profile is very similar to the Wraith, but the Spectre is about 6.6-inches longer with 3.9-inches more wheelbase.

Visually, the biggest differences are in the grille and lights. Both the head and tail lamps have been slimmed down. The front lighting in particular consists of razor thin horizontal LED strips for running lamps with darker headlamps mounted in pockets below. The traditional Rolls-Royce grille remains instantly recognizable, but it is now wider and shorter than before and is in fact the widest grille ever on a Rolls-Royce.

Swing open those long doors and you will of course as always find an umbrella ensconced in the leading edge. With the rear hinges, seating yourself in those big comfy seats is easy and you can swing your legs in or out more gracefully than in more mundane rides. The seats are surprisingly supportive, implying that this is a true driver’s car as opposed to the Phantom which is something most owners will be driven in. While the rear seats of the Spectre are nowhere near as expansive as what you’ll find in a Phantom or Ghost, they are roomy enough for a pair of adults.

Rolls-Royces tend to be built to order with unique combinations of color and materials to match the customer’s desires. The test car I drove was painted in a magnificent Imperial Jade green with a black roof, trunk and center section of the hood. Inside it was finished in predominantly black leather and wood with gold leather accents on the seats and door panels. The doors and headliner also had the starlight effect with fiber optics shining through nearly 4,800 perforations creating a pattern akin to the night sky. The yellow lambswool floor mats were among the most plush I’ve ever seen anywhere, let alone in a car. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the door silently closes itself automatically.

The dashboard of the Spectre looks very traditional with modern elements mixed in including the fully digital instrument cluster and center touchscreen. Unlike newer BMW models which have a large curved display sitting atop the dashboard, the screens in the Spectre are fully integrated. An iDrive style rotary controller sits on the center console and the infotainment is a variation of the BMW system but with a unique Rolls-Royce skin. There is also support for wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Under the floor is a 102 kWh battery pack that delivers an EPA rated 291 miles of range with the standard 22-inch wheel setup. With the Black Badge package and summer tires, that drops to 280 miles. The battery can be charged from a DC fast charger at up to 195 kW, getting from 10-80% charge in 34 minutes.

Of course Rolls-Royce luxury isn’t light and at 6,371-pounds, the Spectre has plenty of road hugging weight. Fortunately, the 190-kW front and 360-kW rear motors provide a combined 584-hp and 661 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to accelerate this big coupe to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds.

On the day I drove the Spectre on the roads near BMW’s Spartanburg South Carolina assembly plant, the temperature was about 81 so the air conditioning was on which revealed the first revelation about the Spectre. It has far and away the quietest ventilation fans I’ve ever experienced in a car. At the highest fan speed it was just barely audible and at anything less, there was no sound. Holding my hand in front of the vent, I could feel the air moving, I just couldn’t hear it.

The silent treatment continued once the Spectre was in motion. Electric cars are inherently quiet, but with the windows closed, there was almost no noticeable wind or road noise in the cabin. Rolls-Royce uses Michelin tires with foam around the interior of the carcass that helps dampen sound and even on the optional wheels the silence was eerie. However, the Spectre was clearly designed to driven with windows up because once lowered, the sound and turbulence came in a rather surprising way. But that probably won’t matter to most Spectre drivers that will probably prefer the isolation.

The beauty of electric propulsion is that the immense torque comes on instantly so even with the prodigious heft of this car, it picks up speed quickly. It’s not the sort of violent acceleration you get from something like a Tesla Model S Plaid, in fact, it’s consistent with the overall feeling of serenity. It just gathers velocity in a seamless fashion and before you know it, you’re going faster than you probably should.

The Spectre is not meant to be a sports car, but rather a grand touring machine that covers lots of ground quickly and in comfort. A run from Marseilles to Monaco or Beverly Hills to Las Vegas would be utterly effortless in this car. Of course this is a Rolls-Royce meaning it's not a car for the teeming masses, but rather for the uber wealthy and discerning. With a starting price of around $420,000 most examples will probably top half a million dollars when optioned. That’s a lot of money, but this is an exceptional example of hand-crafted luxury that lives up to its name.

10 Most Powerful Rolls-Royce Cars Of All Time

Posted: January 25, 2023 | Last updated: August 21, 2023

Since 1904, Rolls-Royce has wowed aficionados and celebrities with its unrivaled luxury offerings. The British flagship automaker has a rich history and is still pushing its boundaries to stay up-to-date with modern needs and technology. However, while most modern Rolls-Royce cars carry beefy powertrains under their hoods, they do not make the impression of being supremely capable. Nevertheless, they will get you up to speed when required, and that too smoothly. To give you an idea of how powerful Rolls-Royce cars are, we have highlighted the top 10 most powerful models the marque has ever made!

Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph - 322 Horsepower

As the rightful successor for the Silver Spirit, the Silver Seraph also shared its underpinnings with the Bentley Arnage. However, unlike the Bentley , the Silver Seraph was powered by a 5.4-liter naturally aspirated M73 V-12 engine. This powertrain was capable of 322 horsepower and was the first V-12-powered Rolls-Royce since the Phantom III from 1939. The V-12 was paired with a five-speed ZF-sourced automatic gearbox, which routed 361 pound-feet of torque through the rear wheels. However, the Silver Seraph was famous for its leisurely on-road acceleration and cumbersome handling, which is not otherworldly for a 5,000-pound luxury sedan. Still, the Silver Seraph did 0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds and could top out at 140 mph.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé and Sweptail - 453 Horsepower

Based on the 2003 Phantom Coupé, the Phantom Drophead Coupé is a convertible grand tourer that made its first appearance at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. After a decade, the one-off luxury two-door coupe was released, the Sweptail. While both the Roll-Royce cars share a list of things with the Phantom VII, the engine is also a part. They both have a 6.75-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine, designated as the N73B68. This gigantic V-12 engine produced 453 ponies and 531 pound-feet of twist, with a six-speed automatic gearbox mated to the mill. The latter models of the Phantom Drophead Coupé, including the one-off Sweptail, features an updated eight-speed automatic gearbox. Despite weighing about 6,000 pounds, the convertible Phantom could sprint to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and attain 155 mph top speed. Meanwhile, the super rare Sweptail is quicker, with a 0-60 timing of 4.9 seconds.

Rolls-Royce Phantom VII - 460 Horsepower

Heir to the Silver Seraph, the Phantom VII served from 2003 to 2017 and was the first Rolls-Royce to be unveiled after BMW acquired the right to use the brand name and its logo. Both the Phantom Drophead Coupé and the Sweptail are the two-door iterations of this halo Rolls-Royce car. The long hood covered a giant but ultra-refined engine: a 6.75-liter V-12 with a 460 horsepower tune. The powerhouse came mated to a six-speed gearbox in the Series I or pre-facelift models. An eight-speed gearbox replaced the six-speed unit with the Series II in 2012. The Phantom VII could do naught to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds, which made it much quicker than the Silver Seraph.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan/Dawn/Ghost/Phantom - 563 Horsepower

The more recent Rolls-Royce cars, be it the Phantom VIII or the cheaper Ghost , Dawn , and Cullinan , come with the same powertrain under their hoods. However, it is BMW’s first twin-turbo V-12, the N74. This 6.75-liter mill produces 563 horsepower in the aforementioned flavors, but there are differences in the torque figures. For example, the current generation Ghost and the Cullinan SUV share an all-wheel-drive system with identical 627 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the Phantom propels 664 pound-feet, and the Dawn is rated at 575 pound-feet. In terms of acceleration, all four Rolls-Royce cars can attain 60 mph from a standstill in less than five seconds.

Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase II - 571 Horsepower

The EWB or Extended Wheelbase version of the Series II Ghost was produced between 2014-2020 and carried the same 6.75-liter twin-turbo V-12 as the standard Ghost. But the EWB flavor put out a slightly bumped-up 571 horsepower and the same 575 pound-feet of torque. Its real-world performance is affected by its added weight. Nevertheless, its leisurely acceleration does take 4.9 seconds to catch 60 mph and can complete a quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds.

Rolls-Royce Spectre - 577 Horsepower

The Roll-Royce Spectre is the firm’s first production BEV but is based on the same platform as the Cullinan and the Phantom . The twin-motor powertrain has a combined output of 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. However, Rolls-Royce has opted not to showcase a tremendous amount of horsepower figures with its electric replacement for the Wraith. So it is certain that the Spectre will not perform like the Lucid Air but is expected to catch 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds, which is terrible, considering its 6,559 pounds curb weight. The Spectre is also the most aerodynamic Rolls-Royce with a drag coefficient of 0.25 and will deliver about 260 miles per full charge.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge and Ghost Black Badge - 592 Horsepower

Any Rolls-Royce with a Black Badge name slapped denotes a high-performance model. In addition to the increased power figures, the Black Badge models incorporate blacked-out bodywork, including the Spirit of Ecstasy. The Cullinan Black Badge and the Ghost Black Badge feature the same 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 as the standard models, but instead of 563 horsepower, they crank 592 horsepower, and torque figures see a bump to 664 pound-feet. This means the Cullinan Black Badge and the Ghost Black Badge could better the standard 0-60 mph timings by at least four-tenth of a second.

Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge - 593 Horsepower

Successor to the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé, the Dawn was revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, the more performance-oriented Black Badge model is undoubtedly the most provocative of the two. A slightly smaller 6.6-liter bi-turbo V-12 powers this limited edition Dawn, and it cranks 593 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque, thanks to an ECU update. However, the slight bump in power does not help the Dawn Black Badge perform better in downright acceleration. Compared to the current Ghost, the torque figures of the Dawn Black Badge are significantly lower, which could be the reason behind the absence of noticeable performance improvements.

Rolls-Royce Wraith and Wraith Black Badge - 623 Horsepower

The Wraith and the Wraith Black Badge are rated at the same 623 horsepowe r, making them the most potent Rolls-Royce models to hit the market. The Wraith was introduced in 2013 with the same 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12, which was incorporated later into the Dawn. The Wraith could sprint to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, pretty quick for a Rolls-Royce, and it also could attain a top speed of 160 mph. It has been a decade since the Wraith came to life, and still, none of the firm’s recent models could replace its title as the fastest Rolls-Royce ever made. The limited edition Black Badge models featured slightly bumped-up torque figures; 642 pound-feet as opposed to 590 in the standard model.

Rolls-Royce Silent Shadow - 640 Horsepower

While the Wraith is the most potent production Rolls-Royce car, there is another beast in the luxury carmaker’s conceptual world, the Silent Shadow, which technically has more power than the Wraith. After the Spectre, the Silent Shadow will be the next electric Rolls-Royce destined to enter production in 2023. It is foreshadowed by the ultra-futuristic 103EX Concept car showcased in 2016. It will be based on the new 2023 BMW i7’s electric platform with a tri-motor setup and could churn out as much as 640 horsepower. In addition, the Silent Shadow will be available as both rear and all-wheel drive systems. However, we are yet to have more details about this fully electric flagship saloon.

The Rolls Royce Spectre starts at $422,750 with a range of up to 291 miles

The rolls royce spectre is the most luxurious ev ever made with a price tag of $422,750..

James Dolan

Rolls Royce Spectre is the “spiritual successor” of the Phantom Coupe

The Rolls Royce Spectre is designed to take after the Phantom Coupe that was discontinued in 2016. However, the Spectre is slightly more powerful than the Phantom Coupe, with a dual electric powertrain that can produce up to 584 horsepower. It also comes with a 102-kWh battery that can deliver a range of up to 291 miles on the standard model with 22-inch wheels. This is almost similar to the range of the BMW i7 M70 .

But if you want the Spectre Black Badge model with enhanced power and torque, the range is reduced to 280 miles. Alternatively, you could consider the Black Badge with 23-inch wheels, but you have to compromise with a range of 264 miles.

  • The Tesla Cybertruck starts at almost $61,000 and it’s finally available for delivery
  • Hyundai and Amazon team up for online car sales (and no, you can’t get your car via Prime)
  • People are reselling their Tesla Cybertruck reservations for up to $10,000 on eBay

Well, the elephant in the room is obviously the underwhelming range of the Rolls Royce Spectre. However, most people buying a Rolls Royce aren’t concerned about the range, but the luxury it offers. Even if you want a longer range and you’re looking at competing EVs that can match up to the Rolls Royce Spectre, no ultra-high-end luxury EV at the moment surpasses a range of 300 miles. Case in point? Its closest competitor, the Cadillac Celestiq is expected to have a range of around 300 miles.

Beyond that, Rolls Royce says the Spectre should charge from 0% to 80% using a DC fast charger in about 34 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, you could add 62 miles to the battery in less than 10 minutes. However, Rolls Royce hasn’t confirmed if its first electric car will adopt the Tesla Supercharger network in the future like most automakers who are ditching CCS ports to support Tesla’s NACS connector.

Rolls Royce is taking orders for the Spectre at a starting price of $422,750. If you configure your Spectre to your specifications, its price tag may exceed half a million dollars. This makes it one of the most expensive electric vehicles in the world, and the second most premium Rolls Royce car after the Phantom. Its competitor, the Cadillac Celestiq, is expected to start at around $340,000. But for what the Spectre is worth, it’s the most luxurious electric car ever made!

We may have our best look yet at the exterior of Tesla’s much anticipated (and equally divisive) Cybertruck. More and more videos are emerging of “RC” or “Release Candidate” vehicles being tested in public, and a recent example gave a new perspective of some of the Tesla Cybertruck’s exterior features.

A Twitter user posted a short video containing close-up footage of the vehicle’s side and front. One notable moment involved a shot of the rear door, which appears to not sit flush with the rest of the bodywork. This issue seems to fit with a recent leak involving an email that was allegedly sent by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In the email, which Tesla hasn’t acknowledged, Musk expresses his frustration about a lack of quality control surrounding the Cybertruck, particularly issues with the vehicle’s bodywork.

Honda is finally bringing its first electric vehicle to the United States, dubbed the 2024 Honda Prologue. Technically, the Honda Clarity was Honda's first EV in the U.S., but that doesn't count since it’s powered by hydrogen and was only offered on a lease.

The Honda Prologue is an all-electric SUV that looks like the bigger version of the Honda-E but with a modern and sporty design that appears more aggressive. In fact, it’s slightly longer and bigger than the Honda CR-V but almost the same size as the Honda Passport. However, its overhang is shorter compared to the Passport.  All about the Honda Prologue EV How far can it travel on a fully charged battery? Honda says the Prologue is anticipated to have a range of up to 300 miles with a battery capacity of 85 kWh. Interestingly, the Honda Prologue is built on GM’s Ultium EV platform, and it comes with the same range as the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. Besides that, it can also charge almost as fast as the Chevy Equinox EV by adding 65 miles in just 10 minutes at a DC fast charger. Just like GM, you may have to wait until 2025 for Honda to fully adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) — but you can still access the Tesla Supercharger network using an adapter.

While many people of a certain age were led to believe that the future is made up of flying DeLoreans, it turns out that we might not need a flux capacitor after all. As it turns out, the future is here, and it is powered by electricity. Unfortunately for many companies like Toyota, this new age wave of the future capsizes many of their gas-powered sales, making many executives exclaim, "Great Scott!"

Tesla owns four of the top ten spots for used EVs According to a new study by CarMax, from February 2022 to February 2023, search volume for terms containing "electric" increased twofold. Beyond that, a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in May 2022 found that 42% of Americans say they would be very or somewhat likely to seriously consider an electric vehicle for their next car. Unsurprisingly, the spike in interest in electric cars coincided with the jump in gas prices from $3.54 to $4.20 from February to March of 2022. Despite whatever changes the future has in store, it seems people still want to hold on to their hard-earned money.

“Tasty cocktails and blue Rolls Royce” Review of Aist

Photo of Aist

Just had dinner at Aist in Moscow, really charming place, beautiful people, inspiring stories, women where super nicely dressed, we wondered if it was for the film festival or this is the myth about how groomed Russian women are. Food was good overall but what is not to miss are the cocktails and the khatchaburi! A kind of Russian heavy cheezy melty delicious pie! A real treat. The terasse on the roof is as charming, but you'd miss the action of the street around and the pople coming in and out, the golden Bentleys, the blue Rolls Royces, summer in the city of Moscow has never been more glamorous and trendy. Nice music, apparently they also host DJ's on certain nights. Service was great. Prices on the high side. But definetly a must. Apparently the owners of this restaurant own a whole bunch of these trendy restaurants. http://www.trendymoscow.com/tag/novikov-group/ I'll definetly check them all out. If life brings me back here. :) Danielle

We we were visiting Moscow and staying at the Marco Polo and came across this restaurant down the street, where we saw Mercedes, Bentleys, a Ferrari, and decide to have early dinner where the beautiful Russia that were driving these cars were dining. We started out with a Russian beer and Vodka and also order a La Mode a drink with crushed ice lemon, oranges, strawberries.Very Pricey! It was excellent, on a hot evening, but very pricey. We ended up having dinner and ordered the fish that excellent cook perfectly. Beautiful people came and went so did the cars. The seafood was excellent so were the drinks. If you want a night of pleasure go to this restaurant. We had a excellent table for people watching, expensive car watching, good food. Expensive wine. Worth going again the next night!

excellent place to hang out in summer, especially the roof terrace in summer is somewhat unreal for Moscow, cool and fancy and lots of green around, and this in the very very center not far from pushkinskaya. kitchen is cool too, not cheap though)) and very nice cocktails .... expect no chance to grab a table on hot summer days

Served us warm oysters. And this was after the server had to check with the kitchen to see if there remained an of these delights. That evening I awaited the gastro surprise, but nothing happened...whew! Grilled octopus was inferior to that at Brix Wine Bar and twice as expensive. Downstairs, with all the smoke was packed. Upstairs, with the clean air, was empty. We sat upstairs with a view to the open kitchen. Wine selection is what I have learned to expect in Moscow, limited selection of reasonably priced wines, limited selection of outrageously priced wines. Very pretty place with attentive staff. I ordered the chef's special for that night, the roasted quail with spinach and it was dried out tough and unappealing. I wonder if the same kitchen serves downstairs and upstairs...because the folks downstairs seem to be having lots of fun while the two upstairs were looking at an evening of the Moscow restaurant formula: big investments in the interior, but not in the food... Bummer

It is always a fantastic dining experience, from both socializing and having absolutely amazing dining experience. Fish is great, but probably the best borsch soup I ever tried

The quality of sheet billets for deep drawing must meet high requirements not only in terms of size and flatness, but also in terms of structure and mechanical properties. A fine-grained structure and a uniform distribution of mechanical properties over the thickness, length and width of rolled brass sheets allows rolled brass products to be used for deep drawing on stamping complex shaped products. One of the ways to decrease the anisotropy of the properties is to turn a sheet before the second pass. The effect of changing the direction of sheet rolling by turning on the structure and mechanical properties of brass L63 is studied on a laboratory two-high 150 × 235 mill. A computer simulation of the cold rolling process is carried out using the DEFORM-3D software package. A comparison of the simulation results with the results of a laboratory experiment on a sheet mill demonstrates the possibility of using DEFORM-3D to predict the stress distribution in the deformation zone in rolling depending on the metal forming conditions. The DEFORM-3D software package is found not to estimate the effect of changes in the grain size and shape on stresses during rolling with turning. The experimental results show that rolling of sheets with turning can decrease the anisotropy of properties, and the efficiency of rolling with turning increases when the reduction increases to 30–40%.
