Fountaine Pajot Catamaran 80

Both the forward and aft cockpits enjoy large reception and relaxation areas, with double direct access to the saloon. The cabins, true suites and guest rooms, have been designed in the spirit of great yachts, with unostentatious luxury, and finished down to the finest detail, with leather upholstery and furniture featuring wood and leather trim. The bathrooms are reminiscent of a spa and include a Jacuzzi in the owner’s cabin.

The saloon, with its large sliding glass windows, has intuitive circulation. As on deck, it is organised around a lounge, a bar, a chart table area with a wonderful separate desk where leather upholstery and topstitching are again to be found. Cabin, dressing room, bathroom… everything you’d expect in the world of motor yachts.

Original deck ergonomics

While retaining the Fountaine Pajot signature, the new 80 is a genuine super yacht with new and original spaces that you won’t find on other models of this size.

Exclusive new features include:

• Two side cockpits with opening wings,
• A Beach Club that’s 100% overlooking the sea to make the most of the anchorages,
• Storage spaces have been designed for all the toys, including forward lockers for paddleboards or scuba gear, and at the stern, a specific storage area for a water scooter under the large central bench seat.

Elegance and FP DNA

In true Fountaine Pajot style, you’ll find the line of the coachroof and the large windows giving an exceptional view of the sea, thanks to the glazed areas descending lower than the deck edge. The flybridge offers a magnificent area with dedicated relaxation, reception and navigation areas. The twin helm stations have been re-centred, with a winch for sailing manoeuvres positioned away from the relaxation areas. A real work area is thus reserved and protected for the crew.

First Look: Fountaine Pajot NEW 80

New catamarans are always interesting. The new sailing catamaran from Fountaine Pajot - NEW 80 was no exception. Let's talk about the main features and features of the new flagship of the shipyard.

Rookie New 80

Fountaine Pajot has introduced a catamaran that is likely to become a kind of “trendsetter” for the coming years. Without undue modesty, we can say that the new model is a real pearl of the shipyard's catamaran lineup. 

The NEW 80 is a sailing catamaran that looks more like a superyacht than a classic catamaran. She combines the luxury and innovation of a superyacht with all the hallmarks of a Fountaine Pajot kat.

One of the main features of the NEW 80 is the spacious living spaces. It cannot be said that the shipyard's catamarans were miniature before, but now Fountaine has shown a qualitatively new level. In addition, the catamaran has two cockpits - bow and stern. From both you can get directly into the salon.

The signature style of Fountaine Pajot is visible in the NEW 80 to the naked eye. Distinctive solutions used in the lines of the hull and interior decoration, sailing equipment, ease of control - all this is in the new catamaran.

At the stern there is an impressive beach club with direct access to the water. There are also two side cabins with folding “wings”, a large number of convenient lockers and an impressive flybridge. 

On the flybridge you will find recreation and entertainment areas, as well as a helmsman's station. Thanks to an interesting layout, the shipyard managed to fit both the seating area and the space for the skipper on one flybridge. You can find out more about the boat at this link .

The interior of the catamaran

The interior is designed competently and tastefully. With full confidence it can be called intuitive and easy to use. Inside you will also find wide and large glass windows. Luxurious saloon with a bar and a chart table are ideally combined, they have a complete overall style. 

Master and guest cabins have been designed in the spirit of the finest superyachts of today. Finishing, furniture, amenities - all this is done at the highest level of quality and attention to detail. We did not forget about the bathrooms, which also distinguished themselves by their elegant appearance and well-thought-out layout. The master cabin even has a Jacuzzi!

Surprisingly, several NEW 80 models have already been sold. So far, the catamaran is doing more than well, the new product from Fountaine Pajot seems to have a bright future. Potentially, the NEW 80 should become one of the most successful models in the history of the shipyard. We are waiting for more interesting details about the boat!

New sailing luxury catamaran by Fountaine Pajot shipyard

Fountaine Pajot unveiled its largest flagship, the New 80, in early September 2022. It was christened THIRA 80 at the Cannes International Yachting Festival in early September 2023 during its World Premiere.

This luxury yacht combines the notorious performances of the brand to the emblematic Fountaine Pajot sleek look : inverted bows, rooftop line and large portholes for you to benefit from a beautiful seaview.

The fittings are also remarkable, with great quality materials and a distinguished aesthetic .

• 1 Owner's Suite + 1 bathroom
• 1 VIP cabin + 1 bathroom
• with galley down:  2 double cabins + 2 bathrooms
• with galley up:  3 double cabins + 3 bathrooms

Main deck versatility for great leasure time

Fountaine Pajot's architects, together with Berret Racoupeau Design, have worked to offer great spaces to both share friendly or spend cosy moments.

The Beach Club platform at the rear of the vessel creates a very large swimming and leasure area, between both transoms.  It is ideal for chilling or practicing watersports. Storing areas are located on the main deck for all your toys. A very large sunbed is located above the plaform, at the rear of the cockpit and oriented towards the back of the boat.

The cockpit sheds a very large table to welcome up to 10/12 guests, as well as various sofas and an staircase access to the flybridge. It also allows access to the VIP cabin or to one of the crew cabins.

Opening wings are a fantastic new feature on this Fountaine Pajot 80 catamaran! Enjoy the view from a comfortable sofa on both sides of the cockpit!

The front cockpit is accessible both from the deck sides and a sliding door from the inside. It features a large saloon and bar area, as well as a jacuzzi at the front at starboard. On the starboard side, a hatch allows access to a crew cabin.

Large flybridge and independant double steering area

At the front of the flybridge, the captain and crew have a safe and great space to manoeuver from both steering wheels and central winches.

The back of the flybridge offers a lot of friendly space in its large lounge with three large sofas, a dining area and a bar .

The flybridge is optimized with solar panels all around for a significant energy supply, as well as on the hartop!

Fountaine Pajot Thira 80 saloon area & cabins

The yacht salon is very bright with lots of natural light through the large windows, which also allow 360° visibility.

This area is very large and contains a lounge area, a dining table, a chart table and a bar. You may choose between a galley up or galley down . Large staircases lead from the salon to the cabins, both at rear and front. 

The luxurious cabins depend on the layout you chose. They all offer a great view onto the horizon through large portholes. The Maestro cabin is superb with a large bed, a desk and sofa, and an incredible bathroom featuring a jacuzzi bath and a spa shower.

Fountaine Pajot reveals a new 80-foot power catamaran yacht

A new model in the Fountaine Pajot Power Catamaran ranger to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding clientele.

Back in September 2022, the shipyard announced it was commencing construction of  the largest cruising catamaran  ever to be built by Fountaine Pajot, measuring some 80 feet (24 metres) in length and just over 36 feet (11 metres) in beam. One year on, and this superlative  luxury multiyacht  was leaving the Fountaine Pajot shipyard in La Rochelle before heading off to the Cannes Yachting Festival on France’s Mediterranean coast, where her inauguration afloat was eagerly awaited. Named the  Thíra 80  at the event, this  super catamaran  attracted the interest of many visitors to the show and has convinced future buyers. This is a major project for the catamaran specialist, who has risen to the industrial challenge to offer a  new large yacht  with a fine design, combining  innovation ,  luxury  and  comfort .

The arrival of a Power 80 in the Motor Yachts range to meet the expectations and demands of yachtsmen.

At a press conference held during the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, Fountaine Pajot announced details of its plans to offer a  motor yacht  version of its new  80-foot catamaran , in response to the growing popularity of the  Thíra 80 . This future  Power 80  will feature a number of modifications to adapt to the specific needs of a clientele accustomed to  large luxury yachts , both monohulls and multihulls.

Super Yacht Catamaran

In terms of layout and design, the  Power 80  will incorporate many of the same features that have made the  Thíra 80  such a success. These include the large windows in the saloon, with glazing that’s lower than usual, giving an unobstructed  view over the sea  when seated on the sofas on the starboard side or in the small saloon area to port.

The new catamaran will also feature the famous “ wings ” on either side of the  aft cockpit , offering the possibility of two  terraces overlooking the sea . Numerous  storage  compartments in the forward cockpit, aft cockpit and the sugarscoops will allow you to stow all your leisure gear out of the way, such as paddleboards, diving equipment or even a  jet ski …

As for habitability and the number of people able to live aboard, the  Power 80  will offer between five and seven double cabins with en suite facilities, depending on the version, with a choice of two  ultra-spacious owner’s cabins . Crew will also be well catered for, with one to three skipper’s cabins in the forepeaks and beneath the aft cockpit, depending on the version.

For Fountaine Pajot, the future Power 80 will be another important step in its drive to expand its range and take on the large catamaran yacht market. It makes a great opportunity to demonstrate the scope of the shipyard’s savoir-faire, with over 40 years’ experience in catamaran design.

The first Sunreef 80 launched, the 7X Split, is easily spotted from afar thanks to her graphite-colored hull that is striking in appearance. She sports a spacious 4-cabin layout, including a spectacular master stateroom, occupying most of the starboard hull along with the guest cabin. With a deliberately dim color scheme, the master suite features a massive bed, a desk, a sofa, and a dressing room hidden behind a custom-designed decorative partition. The salon is tremendous, offering stunning views, incredible space rarely ever seen on a yacht of this length, and the finest contemporary decor.

Thanks to Sunreef Yachts’ proprietary solar power system, the Sunreef 80 Eco can generate up to 32kWp. Covering a total area of 164m² solar panels can be integrated with various composite structures of the yacht including the mast, boom, superstructure and hull sides. The luxury catamaran is fitted with a state of the art, ultralight battery bank (30% lighter than the average batteries used in the nautical industry) with a density of less than 6kg / kWh for increased weight-efficiency and performance.

New Features:

• spawns in Savannas and Badlands biomes
• drops Armadillo Scutes periodically

Armadillo Rolling Up Behavior

• a sprinting player
• a player in a vehicle or mounted
• undead mobs
• a mob, or a player that has attacked it recently
• it is fleeing
• in the air or
• It will continue to scan for threats, occasionally peeking to check the surroundings: if none are detected for 4 seconds, it will unroll
• In a rolled up state, its shell will protect it, and reduce the damage dealt to it, even allowing it to fully resist weak attacks
• Spiders and Cave Spiders will run away from Armadillos, and only if they are not in a rolled up state

Armadillo Scutes

• Armadillo Scutes can be used to craft Wolf Armor
• They are dropped by Armadillos
• Dispensers can be used to brush Armadillo Scutes off Armadillos
• The Wolf Armor will protect the wolf from most damage sources until the armor loses all durability and breaks
• Wolf Armor shows signs of increased breakage as durability goes down
• Players can repair the Wolf Armor with Armadillo Scutes while it is equipped on the Wolf, or on an Anvil using Armadillo Scutes
• Wolf armor can be dyed in similar fashion to Leather Armor
• Using Wolf Armor on an adult tamed Wolf will equip the armor on the Wolf
• Only a Wolf's owner can put a Wolf Armor on their tamed Wolf, and with this in mind; Dispensers cannot put Wolf Armor on wolves
• Using Shears on a Wolf that is wearing armor will make it drop the armor
• Only a Wolf's owner can repair a Wolf Armor on a Wolf or shear a Wolf Armor from it, and with this in mind; Dispensers cannot remove Wolf Armor from wolves
• If a Wolf dies while wearing armor, it will drop the armor

Tamed Wolves health and damage

• Tamed Wolves now have 40 health points (20 hearts) instead of 20 health points (10 hearts)
• In most cases this change will make no difference given the health boost, but now they can withstand more damage from players and arrows
• Feeding a Wolf now heals twice as many health points
• Adjusted spawning conditions for Wolves, allowing them to spawn on Coarse Dirt and Podzol blocks

Wolf variants

New Wolf variants have been added. The variant is determined by the biome they spawn in. Read about each one in this paw-some article !

• Pale Wolf - The familiar Wolf variant that now spawns in the Taiga biome, with a default pack size of 4
• Woods Wolf - A variant that spawns in the Forest biome. This will be the dominant Wolf variant that you will be able to find in the Overworld, since the Forest biome is very common
• Ashen Wolf - A variant that spawns in the Snowy Taiga biome
• Black Wolf - A variant that spawns in the Old Growth Pine Taiga biome, in smaller packs of 2 to 4
• Chestnut Wolf - A variant that spawns in the Old Growth Spruce Taiga biome, in smaller packs of 2 to 4
• Rusty Wolf - A variant that spawns in a new location for wolves - the Sparse Jungle biome, in smaller packs of 2 to 4
• Spotted Wolf - A variant that spawns in a new location for wolves - the Savanna Plateau biome, in larger packs of 4 to 8
• Striped Wolf - A variant that spawns in a new location for wolves, the Wooded Badlands biome, in larger packs of 4 to 8
• Snowy Wolf - A variant that spawns in the Grove biome. A rare type, that always walks alone

When summoned in other ways (e.g. using the Spawn Egg or using the summon command), the variant selection follows the natural spawning biome rules with the following extensions:

• Rusty Wolf: will be selected in all Jungle biomes, including Jungle and Bamboo Jungle Biomes
• Spotted Wolf: will be selected in all Savanna biomes, including Savanna and Windswept Savanna Biomes
• Striped Wolf: will be selected in all Badlands biomes, including Badlands and Eroded Badlands Biomes

Realms Stories

• The Story Feed – lets you share your greatest gameplay moments with your fellow Realm members
• The Timeline – lets you see when other members are playing on the Realm
• The Members tab – shows a list of all Realm members and their permission levels
• Realm Events – Stories that get posted automatically when certain player actions are taken in the Realm. There are 19 unique Realm Events so far – can you discover all of them?
• We need a little more time to deliver the best possible experience for iOS, and will be rolling out Realms Stories on that platform in the near future. 
• Xbox-only: If multiple users are signed into an Xbox, then the users might not be able to post to Realms Stories from that Xbox (unless all users besides the primary user log out).
• Xbox-only: If multiple users are signed into an Xbox, Realm Events will not be posted, but they will be recorded. If all users but the primary user sign out of Xbox, and the primary user returns to the Minecraft play screen, the Realm Events that were recorded before should get posted. However, the Realm Events may be credited to the wrong user.
• If users are in split-screen mode, only the primary user will be able to open Realms Stories.
• If users are in with a guest (user who is not signed into their Microsoft account), and the primary user attempts to make a post, the post may fail, or be credited to the wrong user.

Enhancements to Finding Friends

• A new heavy weapon to smash your enemies!
• Try it out by jumping down toward your target, and hit them before you hit the ground
• Successfully striking a target in this way will negate any damage accumulated from the fall, similar to how a Wind Charge works
• Other entities near the struck enemy will be knocked back by the immense force of the Mace
• Using a Mace will decrease its durability like any other weapon; repair it with Breeze Rods at an Anvil
• Players can use a Mace in combination with Wind Charges to launch up and deliver devastating smash attacks on their enemies
• A new item dropped by the Breeze that can be crafted into 4 Wind Charges, or used with the Heavy Core to craft the Mace
• A mysterious, dense block which can be combined with a Breeze Rod to craft the Mace
• Heavy Cores can be obtained from Vaults

New Armor Trims

• Added Bolt and Flow Armor Trims and Smithing Templates
• These new Armor Trims can be obtained from Vaults
• Bolt can be duplicated using a Copper Block or Waxed Copper

Les matériaux composites, innovants et technologiques, constituent l’essentiel de la structure de nos catamarans à voile : coques, Fly, ponts, cloisons etc. Fountaine Pajot a mis au point une technique d’injection et d’infusion des résines, une technologie avancée donnant à nos bateaux toute leur robustesse. Grâce à cette expertise, nous allégeons considérablement nos catamarans en conservant une qualité constante . Les catamarans à voile de 40 à 50 pieds sont fabriqués au siège social d’Aigrefeuille, à quelques km de La Rochelle. Les catamarans yachts de 51 à 80 pieds sont construits à La Rochelle même, en France, ou ils bénéficient d’un cale de mise à l’eau.

Il est essentiel de définir son programme de navigation : définir la taille de l’équipage à bord, le niveau de connaissance de la voile, le projet de navigation et la zone de navigation visée. L’ergonomie des catamarans Fountaine Pajot est étudiée afin de toujours faciliter les manoeuvres au poste de barre et permettre à un équipage réduit (2 personnes) de manoeuvrer aisément le bateau, au port comme en mer. Le design unique du poste de barre permet une bonne communication entre le cockpit arrière et les espaces de détente du Fly. Lourdes Portillo, Oscar-Nominated Documentary Filmmaker, Dies at 80

Her films centered on Latin American experiences and received wide acclaim.

Lourdes Portillo, an Oscar-nominated Mexican-born documentary filmmaker whose work explored Latin American social issues, died on Saturday at her home in San Francisco. She was 80.

Her death was confirmed by her friend Soco Aguilar. No cause was given.

One of Ms. Portillo’s best-known works is her 1994 documentary “The Devil Never Sleeps,” a murder-mystery in which she investigates the strange death of her multimillionaire uncle, whose widow claimed he had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. In 2020, the Library of Congress selected the film for the National Film Registry.

“Using vintage snapshots, old home movies and interviews, the film builds a biographical portrait of Oscar Ruiz Almeida, a Mexican rancher who amassed a fortune exporting vegetables to the United States and went on to become a powerful politician and businessman,” Stephen Holden, a Times movie critic, wrote in a 1995 review of the film.

The documentary had the tenor of a telenovela and presented open questions about Mr. Ruiz Almeida’s mysterious life and death and the people who could have had a motive for the murder.

“The more Oscar is discussed, the more enigmatic he seems,” Mr. Holden wrote.

Ms. Portillo crafted the film's story line from the information her mother relayed over the phone while Ms. Portillo was living in New York, she said in a talk at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles last year.

The museum screened the movie last year as part of a series honoring Ms. Portillo and other filmmakers who have made significant contributions to cinema.

Her breakthrough work was the 1985 Oscar- and Emmy-nominated documentary “The Mothers of The Plaza of Mayo,” which followed a group of mothers in Argentina who had sought answers to the disappearance of their sons, who were taken by a repressive regime.

Lourdes Portillo was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on Nov. 11, 1943. She lived in Mexico until she was 13, when she emigrated to Los Angeles with her family, Ms. Aguilar said.

She racked up dozens of awards and nominations across 18 films produced over four decades, starting in 1979, according to IMDb .

She was known for her authentic boundary-pushing style.

“Portillo’s works defy categorization, slipping easily between docufiction, experimental video and the melodrama of telenovelas,” the Academy Museum said last year .

Before her death, Ms. Portillo was working on a film called “Looking At Ourselves,” which won a grant from the Sundance Institute last year.

Ms. Portillo is survived by her three sons, Carlos, Karim and Antonio Scarlata; four siblings and five grandchildren, according to her son, Carlos Scarlata.

Ms. Portillo’s last work, “State of Grace,” was released in 2020, a personal animated short film about a dream in which Ms. Portillo confronts her desperation after having been diagnosed with an illness.

“The only thing that enabled me to gather my strength was a vivid dream,” Ms. Portillo said on her website. “In the dream I saw my family and ancestors around me in a circle, chanting for my healing, it filled me with tenderness for all who had loved me.”
