Notable Landmarks and Sites We’ll See

As you soak in the sun, we’ll sail past some of San Diego’s most spectacular coastal sites introducing (or reacquainting) you with the:

  • USS Midway Aircraft Carrier – The USS Midway was commissioned one week after the end of World War II, was the largest ship in the world until 1955 and was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. The Midway was so large it could carry 120 planes on its armored flight deck and was the first aircraft carrier unable to cruise the Panama Canal due to its sheer size. While you are visiting San Diego, be sure to check out the USS Midway Museum to learn more about this iconic ship.
  • Star of India – Star of India is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. She is an iron ship with a long and storied past that includes collisions, mutiny and cyclones. She worked as a cargo ship and then spent half a century bringing emigrants to New Zealand. You can tour the Star of India at the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
  • North Island Military Base – Dubbed the official birthplace of aviation, the North Island Military Base is an active military base home to two aircraft carriers and 23 fixed and rotary wing squadrons.
  • Cabrillo National Museum – T he Cabrillo National Monument and museum mark the location where the first European set foot on the western US. There is a lot to take in at Cabrillo park including the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the rocky intertidal zone.
  • Hotel del Coronado – The Hotel Del is a historic beachfront luxury hotel situated in the city of Coronado, just over the bridge from downtown San Diego. It opened in 1888 as the largest resort hotel in the world and today is the second-largest wooden structure in the US. If you are visiting San Diego, it is definitely worth spending a couple of hours at The Del — grab lunch or stroll the pristine beach.

Who is This Harbor Cruise Right For?

  • Families – Bring the kids, bring the grandparents! The Triton Catamaran offers an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
  • San Diego Visitors –  There is no better way to acquaint yourself with San Diego than from the sea. This is one experience you definitely don’t want to miss while you’re in town.
  • San Diego Locals – Lived here all your life but still a little shaky on your San Diego history? Join us for a relaxing afternoon on the bay;  we’ll catch you up.
  • Groups – We love hosting groups and can cater to parties as large as 75. Learn more about our group chartering options here.

Why Choose a Catamaran Harbor Cruise?

If you’re looking for a San Diego harbor cruise, you have options; we aren’t going to pretend to be the only boat in the bay. But, if you have ever experienced a sail on a cat, you’ll know why we are a bit biased.

  • Catamarans offer much more space than monohull boats making them the perfect choice for groups; on a catamaran there really is no bad seat.
  • Catamarans also offer more stability with less rocking back and forth than monohull boats, which can help with sea sickness.
  • Thanks to their shallow draft, catamarans can access areas of the bay too shallow for most boats.

Triton is the largest Catamaran in The Big Bay and one of the only options in San Diego if you want to experience a ride on a luxury cat, but don’t want to spend the extra money for a private charter.

The Triton Catamaran made her maiden voyage to San Diego in January 2020. She is a brand new, GC70, 75 ft Day Charter Catamaran that boasts:

  • Capacity for 100 passengers (we typically limit this to 70 people so you can spread out and relax)
  • A dance floor
  • Large deck with outdoor seating

  • Kick your shoes off and feel the warm deck under your feet. Enjoy our special bow trampolines designed for sunbathing, and lounging around watching the sea life, and water rush by.
  • Shady, warm, cushioned seating area for relaxing out of the wind and sun aboard "Tigress." "Wind Drum" offers more speed, and a bit more sun and wind.
  • On "Tigress" our deep and roomy seating area is fully protected with a windshield, and is especially comfortable for elderly people, and both catamarans are safe for children.
  • Since our catamarans are very fast boats, we are able to see more sights during your sail, and also sailing faster is more FUN.

Triton Charters – The Newest San Diego Catamaran Cruise

Welcome aboard the new kid in town. Big, bold, and beautiful, she is the Triton – one of San Diego’s latest additions to our magnificent waterfront. If you are looking for a fun San Diego Catamaran Cruise or Charter option, the Triton is a perfect choice.

About the Triton Catamaran

The Triton is the newest and largest catamaran yacht in San Diego waters. This impressive 75-foot vessel can host up to 105 guests for fun and adventure on the San Diego Bay. There’s no better way to enjoy the beauty of the city than from the sea, take in a spectacular San Diego sunset , or admire the stunning nighttime of our skyline reflecting in the bay.

Formerly berthed at a large Texas lake, this massive catamaran was carefully transported overland. This epic 38-day trek took her through farm lands and along country roads to its new home on Shelter Island. She was launched into San Diego Bay on August 1st 2020, fulfilling the lifelong goal of one of her owners and lifetime San Diego resident, Zach Funston. He’d always dreamed of owning a charter sailboat and plying the San Diego waters for business and fun.

Welcome on board!

The Triton is truly an impressive vessel. Sporting a striking blue and white color scheme with classy lines, she’s more reminiscent of Mediterranean sailboats cruising the cerulean waters of the Greek Islands.  Nautical luxury and comfort blend in perfect harmony with impeccable attention to detail.

Front hull of Triton Catamaran San Diego with netted floor and blue and white bean bag seats

The cabin over the twin hulls features a state-of-the-art 13-seat lighted bar, spacious dance floor, and an advanced sound system. Private tables with bench seats aft of the cabin provide ample seating for eating and drinking in comfort while enjoying unobstructed views. All in all, the stately catamaran can provide seating for up to 70 people from bow to stern.

The Triton was built for group enjoyment, whether on a sunset sail, a swim and snorkel adventure, or a special event party.  With fun in mind, the Triton’s drop-down stairs and built-in running water slide are ideal for getting more intrepid adventurers down into the water with ease.

Bar on the Triton Catamaran with several people

For those who love the wind in their face, additional nautical bean bag cushion seats forward of the cabin provide fabulous seating for relaxing in the sun or under the stars.  A sturdy trampoline netting links the twin bows providing more cushioned seating for those who prefer being closer to the water.

And of course, with safety a primary concern, Triton Charter includes a Coast Guard Certified Captain and crew members to assist guests on their journey.

Ticketed San Diego Catamaran Cruise

Triton’s Ticketed Charters run 2 ½ hour narrated tours with departures from Shelter Island at 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm daily from Wednesday through Sunday.  With this option, guests have ample time to enjoy all the spectacular sights of America’s finest city.

The Triton’s well-engineered layout makes their vessel ideal for hosting a variety of group sizes. The crew showed great attention to detail and made this outing an unforgettable event.

Personal Experience Aboard a Sunset Sail Private Charter with Triton

Our 20-some guest private charter departed from Shelter Island about a half-hour before sunset, gliding gracefully past the hundreds of boats and yachts moored nearby. While this was a hosted experience by Triton, all opinions are my own.

Catering and Refreshments

The bar opened immediately for refreshments and was soon doing a brisk business. Remaining entirely within the calm waters of San Diego Bay, the Triton cut the water effortlessly – her twin hulls making for one comfortably smooth sail. We were treated to a spectacular San Diego sunset as the darkening skies were painted in rich hues of orange, gold, and red.

The blend of both lively and relaxing music, cocktails, and fresh sea-scented air added to the ambiance.  As darkness settled, the glittering lights of San Diego’s stunning skyline lit up the night in spectacular fashion.  The colorful tented lights from the USS Midway and the illuminated outline of the Star of India were especially impressive.  Our sunset sail truly provided a treasure trove of photo opportunities, both onboard and beyond the rails.

Aldo’s Tacos provided a bountiful buffet on the fantail complete with carne asada, chicken, shrimp, steak, and carnitas tacos with all the fixings and side dishes.

A Fun Sunset Sail!

The cool, clear evening accompanied by a magnificent sunset and star-studded sky was magical. This is one incredible way to enjoy some time at sea, taking in the sights of our picturesque city by the bay — on San Diego’s newest luxury maritime jewel. A big thank you again to Triton Charters for inviting me on this fun San Diego Catamaran Cruise.

Other amazing ocean creatures such as pods of dolphins, sharks, sea lions, and seals can be observed year-round as well. Our expertly-trained captain and crew make for a safe and non-disruptive experience for the wildlife, and a smooth and comfortable experience for our guests. On-board, we have modern audio-visual capabilities for corporate presentations or private celebrations with 2 interior flat screen TV’s and surround sound. The Catamaran company is the world's largest retailer of new and used catamarans in the world. This includes being the largest Dealer for Lagoon Catamarans, the world's largest manufacturer of catamarans. Lagoon has over 85 dealers in every major market and country in the world and The Catamaran company has been their # 1 dealer more times than any other dealer. In fact, over the last decade The Catamaran company has sold more new Lagoons than every other Lagoon dealer in the US combined! The Catamaran company is also the World # 1 dealer for Gemini Catamarans, the largest US manufacturer of catamarans with over 1,200 sailing throughout the world.

Our California office is conveniently located in San Diego, on Shelter Island, at the heart of Southern California's yachting community. Only minutes from Downtown and the San Diego International Airport this office features a full service, catamaran friendly, ship yard with brokerage docks and is surrounded by yacht services of every type. Shelter Island is a neighborhood of Point Loma in San Diego, California. It is actually not an island but is connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land. The "island" is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) long and only a few hundred feet wide. A single street, Shelter Island Drive, runs the length of Shelter Island and also connects it to the mainland via a causeway lined with marine-related businesses. It was originally a sandbank in San Diego Bay, visible only at low tide. It was built up into dry land using material dredged from the bay for US Navy requirements in World War II. It has since been developed and contains hotels, restaurants, marinas, and public parkland.

Shelter Island is owned and controlled by the Port of San Diego, which also provides all police and other public services. Shelter Island businesses lease their location from the Port. Their Maritime Services Division is composed of three departments – Marine Operations, Maritime Trade Development and Maritime Properties and Facilities. Maritime Operations monitors all vessel activities at the Port’s cargo and cruise terminals, including several mooring areas and commercial piers around San Diego Bay. Take advantage of some of those anchoring destinations such as Glorieta Bay in Coronado, La Playa Cove in Point Loma and Mariner's Cove in Mission Bay. All three are fabulous, well protected, scenic anchorages. Reciprocal yacht club privileges are another fun way to visit different parts of the bay. Or enjoy a day on the water. A day sail in San Diego can easily include open ocean sailing with views of Hotel del Coronado, Point Loma Lighthouse and the Los Coronados Islands of Mexico or a scenic sail by the San Diego waterfront with features like the historic Star of India, the USS Midway museum and the Coronado Bay Bridge.

Gemini Catamarans Announces New Dealer in California

SAN DIEGO, California, July 21, 2015 — Gemini Catamarans is pleased to announce the selection of The Catamaran company as their authorized dealer in California.

Following over a decade of successful years of representation of the Gemini brand in the southeastern and mid-Atlantic states, The Catamaran company has expanded into the western market with a location in Shelter Island, California, a community of San Diego.

“The Catamaran company is the worldwide leader in all aspects of the catamaran market,” says Gemini Catamarans President Laura Hershfeld. “The success of our Gemini models is highly dependent on our dealer network. Having The Catamaran company, the world’s largest retailer of new and brokerage catamarans, strengthens our position in the western United States.”

California native, previous Gemini owner and yacht broker, Monte Cottrell, will be heading up the San Diego office. “We feel Monte’s understanding of both the west coast market and the Gemini buyer will be a great asset to The Catamaran company and Gemini Catamarans as we expand our marketing efforts to the west coast,” stated The Catamaran Group President Hugh Murray.

Laura Smith Hershfeld’s most recent design influence can be seen throughout the Legacy model. From the cockpit to the salon to the master stateroom, she has a strong understanding of use of space and the importance of light. The company believes these attributes along with the ease of sailing and effortless movement will be well received. Add to the mix that this will be the first time a Catalina Yachts built Gemini Legacy 35 will be available for viewing in its home state of California, Gemini Catamaran owners and enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to. Expected delivery is mid-August 2015.

About Gemini Catamarans Gemini catamarans have been built in the United States since 1981. Lagoon is a world leader in sailing catamaran cruisers. Lagoon has been building luxury catamarans since 1984 and has kept developing its offer to satisfy all your expectations with a range of boats including a full line of sailing catamarans as well a new line of motor yachts.

The first generation of catamarans was launched from 1987 to 1996 with the Lagoons 55, 47, 57 and 67: all ocean cruising private yachts. However, the Lagoons 37 and 42 were more suited to the charter market. The production was limited, but it established some strong guidelines by which the brand could be recognized from the outset: the high quality of design and construction with better than average performance.

These are still Lagoon's fundamental values.

1996 saw the launch of a new generation of Lagoons that took over the market immediately with the use of the following basic principles: maximum protection in the sun, maximum use of space available (hence the vertical cabin windows, now a Lagoon trademark), more comfort and paying careful attention to the trends set by the private customers.

Since 2003, Lagoon is the world dealer in cruising catamarans due to its innovative range and supportive distribution network. Today, Lagoon can boast to having 75 passionate catamaran specialists distributors all over the world. Lagoon Catamarans are enjoyed all across the globe by private owners and charter fleet operators.

Since 2010, when VPLP's Oracle won the America's Cup, Nauta Design (another great name in naval architecture) has been working with Lagoon to design the interiors of new models.

10 Incredible San Diego Sailing Tours to Get Your Sailing On

S ometimes we just want to ditch the on-land attractions and head out to the ocean for a sailing adventure. Whether you’ve never been on a boat before or you’re a seasoned sailor yourself but couldn’t get your boat down to San Diego and still need your fix of the sea breeze. Thankfully, plenty of companies offer San Diego sailing tours.

Greg and I got into sailing a few years ago. We currently don’t have our sailing certification but love spending time on the water. So until we can safely maneuver our own sailboat, we either head out with one of our friends (Big shout out to Joe! Thank you!!!) or go on a sailing tour.

Here is a list of our most loved San Diego sailing tours to get you in the mood to hit the San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

The Best San Diego Sailing Tours

Small Group San Diego Sunset Sailing Excursion

This three-hour San Diego sunset sail tour brings lovers of the sea out on a Catalina-style sailboat to watch the last of the sun rays fall behind the ocean. The idea of this excursion is to create an intimate feeling, only allowing six guests on board.

There will be beer, soft drinks, and snacks provided by the captain during the ride. Additionally, warm jackets will be on standby in case the wind off the sea becomes too much.

Pass by San Diego’s private marina Point Loma, the USS Midway Museum, and under Coronado Bridge to the island.

The sailing boat has a modern sound system, so if anyone would like to play their favorite songs for some added ambiance, they’re free to do so.

Before you head off, meet at the Sail San Diego Office on Shelter Island. You need to receive a physical paper ticket to board the ship. It will be given to you upon check in.

Sunset Sailing Experience On San Diego Bay

Sunset is, without a doubt, the best time to take a boat out to sea. Watching the dramatic orange colors explode throughout the sky from a top deck is a blissful experience.

Hop on board a classic sailing yacht and make your way down San Diego Bay, catching glimpses of military ships and some of the city’s key sights from a unique perspective.

Take advantage of the many photo opportunities while watching the California sun slowly fades away. As well as an unforgettable sailing experience, you get some white wine, chocolates, soda, and water with your booking.

This fantastic two-hour tour is popular among those looking to celebrate something, e.g., engagement or proposal. This sunset sail in San Diego is one you won’t be soon to forget.

A maximum of six people can reserve a space on the ship which departs from Harbor Island. It’s recommended that you arrive 20 minutes beforehand, so you have time to find the gate. The company is not able to wait for anyone.

Book here San Diego Whale Watching Cruise

Would you like to see some whales? Head out to sea with an expert guide who will provide interesting knowledge about grey whales, dolphins, and other animals that roam around San Diego.

They’ll bring you to several areas where they have spotted whales in the past. This exciting 4.5-hour whale-watching tour takes you aboard a ship modeling a sailing schooner that won a prize at the world’s first America’s Cup sailing competition in 1851.

This outstanding whale-watching tour includes drinks and snacks, sightings of whales guaranteed, and a no-sickness promise.

Check-in is at the Next Level Sailing office. It opens an hour before departure and closes 30 minutes before. If you’re looking for a small private tour, this isn’t the one for you. The ship can hold up to 77 passengers.

Book here Small Group Afternoon Sailing Excursion

Board a Catalina-style sailboat for six people and embark on a semi-private sailing tour of San Diego.

Get your binoculars ready because you’ll see an array of sights like the San Diego Convention Center, Seaport Village , the USS Midway , and much more.

The boat’s crew members will take good care of you for the duration of the tour, offering complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks. If the sun gets too much for you, sunscreen will be on board too.

Check in for this activity is at the Sail San Diego office. The captain will meet you there and bring you to the ship, where the fun will begin!

San Diego Bay Relaxing Sailing Tour

Step aboard a luxuriously designed Beneteau sailing yacht and cruise around San Diego Bay VIP style. Pop your head inside the spacious cabin kitted out with cushioned seats, soft blankets, pillows, and bean bags to relax on the bow of the boat.

The 2.5 tour starts by taking passengers to catch some gorgeous harbor views of the military ships parked up, including the USS Midway and the Star of India. After, they’ll be taken under the Coronado Bridge to see San Diego Seaport area.

The boat will then venture over the bay to the Naval Air Station and a couple of other notable attractions before making the return to land.

The tour will leave from the Claire Sailing office, only a few minutes from downtown. Beverages are provided by the company, e.g., beer and soda, and passengers can have a shot of driving the boat once given the go-ahead from the captain.

Private Sailing Charter on San Diego Bay

Enjoy a 2.5-hour private sailing charter tour along San Diego Bay.

This is different from other excursions where the company chooses the itinerary. Instead, you decide what you want to see. Whether you want to go whale watching, swimming, or lay an anchor somewhere, the sky is the limit. Additionally, if you’d like the captain to plan your time out carefully, that can be arranged too. See sights like Tijuana , Hotel del Coronado, or Point Loma Lighthouse.

Make sure you arrive outside Clayton’s Galley 10 minutes before departure time. That’s where the captain will meet you beforehand.

Look out for dolphins, sea lions, and whales when you’re out at sea. If it’s the season, you can see them.

Again, this charter sailboat tour of San Diego is private. It will only be your group on the boat with the captain and their team. Snacks and water are included with the tour.

Book here Luxury Catamaran Sailing Charter of San Diego

Take on the San Diego waves on your private catamaran sailing charter that can hold up to 12 passengers.

Set off from the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for an eight-hour cruise to see exciting attractions like Sunset Cliffs Natural Park , Ocean Beach Pier, La Jolla, and Pacific Beach. Soak up stunning seascapes while trying to spot aquatic animals. The captain can help you out with that one.

The crew on board will be looking after you for the day and will provide five-star, personalized service. This is the perfect tour if you have a big family and want to celebrate fashionably.

Private Luxurious Sailing Cruise in San Diego Bay

This is arguably the fanciest sailing tour you can book in California. It’s a private excursion that tailors to passengers’ needs.

Fancy a sail and swim in Glorietta Bay? Or a romantic cruise along Coronado? Pick where you’d like to see. It’s your three hours. Let the crew do the hard work while you relax, sipping on an ice-cold drink.

The tour is limited to you and 5 other guests. You’ll depart from Harbor Island at 5 pm and have three hours out at sea.

When you see inside this yacht, you won’t want to get off. Its elegant design creates a warm, homey feeling. You’ll forget you’re out on the sea.

The captain and his team are attentive and will look after your group in whatever way they can. To top it all off, alcoholic beverages are included, so grab a beer and watch the sun go down with those you love.

There’s no doubt, this is definitely one of the best sailboat tours in San Diego.

Book here Private Sail Yacht Experience on San Diego Bay

Grab some lovely photographs of San Diego Bay on this two-hour private sailing tour.

Have a 37-foot (11.2 meters) yacht all to yourselves while you kick back with a bottle of champagne, and the captain brings you to see dolphins and other sea creatures along the coast.

The tour is suitable for a maximum of six people and comes with some luxuries such as champagne, white wine, chocolates, and soda. You’re free to bring your own food and drink as well.

Book here Sterling Sails 2-Hour Private Sailing Experience

Did anyone ever tell you that San Diego looks better from the water? See it for yourself on this two hour private sailing experience with your own private yacht and a captain who’s well versed in handling navigation.

Sail all along San Diego Bay, scouting out sea lion hideouts and old military ships like the USS Midway.

The ship can hold six people, making this tour ideal for small families or groups on vacation looking for an ocean escape. Captain Liz will meet your group at the benches beside Marina Cortez 15 minutes before the ship’s sailing time.

San Diego is an amazing place for a sailing tour, with stable winds and a balmy climate; it’s no wonder boating enthusiasts love it here.

When choosing a sailing tour, you’ll have to ask yourself some questions:

What’s your budget?

Which attractions would you like to see?

How much time do you have?

Once you’ve determined this, you’ll be on the boat, ready for your San Diego sailing tour!

The little (electric) engine that could: The Port of San Diego unveils the nation’s first all-electric tug boat

The 82-foot, all-electric eWolf tug boat, dockside at the Port of San Diego.

The 82-foot eWolf expects to eliminate 3,100 metric tons of carbon dioxide

The nation’s first all-electric tug boat has docked at the Port of San Diego and expects to begin emissions-free operations in about a month.

Operated by Crowley Maritime Corporation , the 82-foot eWolf will escort ships entering and leaving the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal using electric power instead of diesel fuel, helping slash greenhouse gas emissions at the port and its neighbors in Barrio Logan and National City.

For the record:

1:58 p.m. March 13, 2024 This story has been updated to show the correct amount of government funding that went to the project.

“This is a big deal,” said port chairman Frank Urtasun at a news conference Monday. “This is new technology.”

Capable of speeds of up to 12 knots, the eWolf is powered by a 6.2 megawatt-hour main propulsion battery and two electric drives. The tug has thrust — also known as bollard pull in the parlance of the shipping industry — of 76.8 short tons, which is more powerful than the diesel-powered counterparts at the port.

Constructed in Alabama, the eWolf is equipped with two small generators for emergency use that allow the boat to travel longer distances at a reduced speed.

“Like an electric car, you step on the gas and it jumps,” said Paul Manzi, vice president of Crowley Shipping, based in Jacksonville, Fla. “All of the attributes that you have with an electric motor operation in a car or in an electric truck, you see here in the (eWolf) at massive scale. And it’s extremely quiet so when it pulls away from the dock you literally won’t hear any noise.”

The tug boat’s electricity will come from a charging station that is part of a microgrid facility equipped with two energy storage containers. Battery modules in each container have storage capacity of nearly 1.5 megawatt-hours.

Interconnected with the help of San Diego Gas & Electric, the charging station at the port is designed to allow the vessel to recharge quickly and reduce peak loads on the electric grid.

Operators plan to charge the eWolf overnight so it can perform its chores during daytime hours.

“This technology has individually been around for a while, but it hasn’t necessarily been integrated and optimized to all work together — and that’s kind of our role,” said Bruce Strupp, vice president at ABB Marine & Ports , the company that designed the boat’s propulsion system. “Some of the technology is our technology, some of it’s third-party technology, but we integrate it all together.”

The electric tug boat is expected to begin commercial operations at the port in mid- to late-April, depending on the completion of the charging station.

The all-electric eWolf tugboat at the Port of San Diego

Officials at Crowley did not release the eWolf’s price tag Monday, saying only that it cost about twice as much as a conventional diesel-powered tug boat of comparable size.

But, Manzi said, the company expects the eWolf’s maintenance and operating costs will be “dramatically lower” than what’s spent on a diesel-powered tug boat because the electric model has fewer moving parts.

The entire project — the vessel as well as the charging station — received four grants that added up to $13.67 million, with two grants of $10.9 million from the San Diego Air Pollution Control District, one grant of just over $2 million from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and $750,000 from the federal government’s Maritime Administration.

In 2020, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order that directed state agencies to transition off-road vehicles — including tug boats — and equipment to 100 percent zero emissions by 2035.

By replacing one of the port’s diesel-powered tugs, the eWolf is expected to eliminate the consumption of about 35,000 gallons of diesel fuel per year. In its first 10 years of use, the electric tug boat is expected to reduce about 3,100 metric tons of carbon dioxide from the port and its surrounding areas such as Barrio Logan and National City.

“We’re trying to be good neighbors and trying to be able to help to reduce emissions here to help the electrification movement,” Urtasun said, adding that the port has spent about $130 million on various electrification projects.

Last year, the Port of San Diego became the first in North America to install a pair of all-electric cranes to load and off-load heavy cargo. Each 262 feet high, the cranes replaced an older crane that ran on diesel fuel. Together, the cranes expect to help the port reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 47 metric tons per year.
