This place feels like it could be a set for Succession. We had almost every appetizer- crab cakes, coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktail, and escargot. Everything was amazing. For my entre I had the market fish, which was a mahi mahi which was delicious. I had a number of hazy ipas, each one was delicious and I left the restaurant drunk.
Gorgeous venue and location by the water, exquisite service, lovely views of the water outside, food that is a true work of art, and best of all, divine taste in every ingredient!! Fantastic diverse menu that is often changed for variety - with many sorts of seafood and different types of meats. The dessert is astounding. I love coming and tasting different dishes from the menu, as well as desserts. Everything is cooked to perfection, not a minute longer or shorter. It is the fine attention to detail, and the submergence in flavor of every single fresh item and ingredient that makes this place stand out like no other. The staff is so kind and courteous, and the place is decorated beautifully with its iconic maritime theme. In CT, this is my absolute FAVORITE place to dine in, and it has the best food in CT that I have tasted. Simple perfection. I am a top fan here, I hope life will bless me by continuing to bring me here.

Had our wedding here many years ago. Beautiful spot. Everything was perfect! Wonderful memories. Also held my father's memorial here. Always gracious and helpful for both events. A very special place for our family.
Great place -- beautiful spot and beautiful club
This review is for the Jr. Sailing school. The instructors are great and really knows how to engage the students. My son is really energetic and can be a handful but the staff here were able to work with him and he learned a lot throughout the summer. This was my son's first time in sailing school and I really appreciate that they start as young as 4. They really encourage the sailors to participate in as many regattas as possible to improve their sailing skills. My son was too young to participate within the Opti level but we look forward to participating next year.
My only regret is that I was taken to lunch here too early in the yachting season to see any of the boats, but it was spectacular nonetheless. Attentive but not overbearing staff, fantastic views of the water, and very fresh seafood. Brownie points for the super-chic bathrooms. It's just so classy. The whole place just screams traditional New England.
I was underwhelmed. After booking this place for a company event, we ended up having our holiday party here. The outside was beautifully lit and it is right on the water. We had access to large room you see as you walk in. The lighting was a bit too dim for me and the decor was drab at best. I had high expectations for this club especially because it was in Greenwich, it just felt like an update was way overdue. The food was just OK, not much variety and very basic. The dining seating set up was pretty tight so it was hard to get to the buffet or over to another colleague to chat. I am sure I will use this place in the future, I just think I was expecting it to be more grand.

INDIAN HARBOR YACHT CLUB BECOMES NSHOF FOUNDING MEMBER
From the commodore:.
"Indian Harbor Yacht Club is very proud and excited to become a Founding Member of the National Sailing Hall of Fame. The enthusiastic response of our membership speaks to this effort whose time has come. We are wholeheartedly in support of the NSHOF mission to preserve the spirit and tradition of sailing through the education of our youth - those who cradle the future of our sport in their hands."
Commodore Susan H. Fisher Indian Harbor Yacht Club
Celebrating 125 Years
"The purpose or object of Indian Harbor Yacht Club is to encourage and foster the sport of yachting, the art of yacht design and construction, the science of seamanship and navigation, and to provide for the amusement and recreation of its members."
Indian Harbor Yacht Club was founded in 1889 by dedicated sailors intent on being part of the thriving sailing community on Long Island Sound. The club's mission was 'to encourage and foster the sport of yachting, the art of yacht design and construction and the science of seamanship and navigation'. That mission holds true today as our members continue to excel on the race course, embrace the pleasures of cruising and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members.
The current clubhouse was designed in 1919 by noted American architect Henry Pelton and completed by the Charles Wills Construction Company in 1920 to replace the original shingle-style building which was lost in a fire. Both men were club members and while Pelton is best known for designing the Riverside Cathedral in New York, Commodore Wills' firm built buildings such as the University Club and the New York Stock Exchange. This same clubhouse, with sweeping views of Captain's Harbor, is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
For 125 years, IHYC members have excelled in sailing at all levels, including fleet racing, one-design racing and ocean racing. IHYC members have won the Transatlantic Race, the Fastnet Race and the Southern Ocean Racing Circuit. They have entered over 300 boats in the Newport to Bermuda Race since its inception and they have been overall winners four times. They have also won the American Power Boat Championships four times. In addition, the IHYC Junior Sailing Program, founded by Commodores Robert Law and Clifford Mallory in 1924, continues to encourage young mariners to develop skills that will encourage a life-long appreciation of the water.
As Indian Harbor Yacht Club continues a second century of sailing, we are proud to be a founding member of the National Sailing Hall of Fame. We also look forward to continuing to excel in its mission and to contribute to the future success of local and international sailing and seamanship.

The Sailor's Style Guide: How to Dress at a Yacht Club
If you've been invited to a casual yacht club rendezvous, you'll need the right threads to fit in. in this guide, we'll walk you through the yacht club attire you'll need to fit in. hint: you can find the perfect outfit head to toe with castaway.
You've been invited to a meal or event at a local yacht club, but you've never been to one before. Suddenly, the panic sets in. What should you wear? Fortunately, there are lots of options and visiting a yacht club does not mean you have to spend a lot of money just to fit in. This post will give you some pointers on yacht club attire so that you feel neither under nor overdressed, and can really enjoy yourself and have a great time at the club.
Before you even think about what to wear, check to see if the yacht club you're going to has a dress code posted online. Most of them do, and the rules can vary from club to club. The Nantucket Yacht Club , for example, requires semi-formal attire for its dinners and cocktail attire including ties for men during its dinner dances and balls. The Hyannis Yacht Club goes into a little more detail. It accepts stylish casual wear including clean, neat jeans and shorts for lunch. For dinner, guests are expected to step it up by leaving the denim at home and wearing sports coats. Different areas of a club may also have different dress rules. Bars and outdoor decks tend to more lax and allow casual clothing.
Sometimes, the easiest way of narrowing down what to wear is to eliminate what you should not wear. This is just a partial list of how not to show up at any kind of yacht club unless you want to be denied admittance or receive a lot of disapproving glares. All rules listed apply to the inside of the club, and can vary for beach and dock rulings.
Flip Flops or Going Barefoot: This rule applies INSIDE the club, or for any meal time. Most people love the beach, but going barefoot is not only unacceptable, but unhygienic.
You'll want to wear appropriate footwear such as sturdy sandals or closed toe shoes. While a lot of children and adults love their flip-flops, they may be a little too casual for a yacht club atmosphere. The most popular choice here is a boat shoe style but a bridle bit driver is always appropriate - check the latest . The lightly worn leather and pencil-curled laces fit the bill in the cool department.
Torn, Stained, or Worn Clothing: Any attire that is showing signs of wear such as rips, stains that never came out, holes, missing buttons, etc. should be left at home.
Baseball Caps and Other Hats: Most yacht clubs prefer that men remove their caps when inside the venue. Save them for the sailing excursions.
Extra points on the water if you rock the Club’s Burgee on the hat!
Swimwear: Just a no-no. Save it for the boat and the beach. A cover-up can be acceptable for the patio.
Going Shirtless: Nope!
Undershirts as Shirts: See above. You may also want to be careful about choosing a t-shirt, particularly one with graphics, when visiting a yacht club. Most prefer that you wear a collared shirt, even if it's a casual one such as a polo shirt.
Tank tops for men and any tank tops for women that are skimpy and don't hide undergarments should be saved for another occasion.
Women have a lot of options when it comes to visiting a yacht club. Linen and cotton make the perfect summer blouses. A light but structured Sleeveless Top paired with a sweater is perfect for warding off cool sea breezes when you're out on the deck. A polo or collared shirt works well for the yacht club scene as well. You can also consider a dressy blouse that has a little bit of flounce to it. If shorts are allowed for the time and area of the club you're visiting, consider sporting Sailing shorts with a cute anchor embroidery. They're cool, classy, and show off just the right amount of leg. Casual skirts and dresses are perfectly fine as well as long as they're not too short and revealing. If you're attending a party at a yacht club you may need to wear a nice cocktail dress, or a classic Tunic Dress for a day event. Special events such as balls and dinner dances usually specify what is appropriate attire on the invitation.
Don't forget to have fun with accessories! A straw handbag can complete a nautical themed look.
For most casual yacht club occasions, men can't go wrong with a collared shirt and long pants or Cisco Shorts . Pastel and preppy shades such as summer green, hurricane red, and islander blue rule here.
When casual attire is allowed, collared sport or polo shirts are always in fashion. Seersucker and linen shirts are available in several colors and patterns for summer club get-togethers. If jeans are not allowed, seersucker or cotton canvas pants are still casual and comfortable yet dressy enough for all areas of a yacht club. If you really want to show your love of nautical dressing, consider wearing a fun Embroidered Pant !
Or you can opt for solid pants but add some nautical flair with an embroidered belt . Classic summer staples like Seersucker and Madras Patches will make you the talk of the Club, in a good way!
For those chilly sea breezes and evenings, a quarter zip pullover wards off the cool air while keeping you stylish and casual.
It's a good idea to keep a sportcoat and a few ties in your closet just in case the yacht club you're visiting requires it. Opt for a fun all over embroidered jacket, or a Madras Patchwork style to really up your game.
Kids' clothing should conform to the same yacht club rules as established for grown-up guests. If you really want your son to look cute, consider dressing him in the same matching outfit as dad.
Whether you're looking to make a splash with yacht club attire or just want to look good on the boat or while meeting with friends, we have the seaside looks that you'll look and feel wonderful in for men, women, and children.

Our wedding day was a gorgeous june evening by the water. we were surrounded by all our friends and family there to celebrate our love. i felt absolutely beautiful in my dress, with a monarch length train that made me feel like a real queen, and the most stunning jewelry and veil to match. i wish i could wear my dress all the time now, but it's probably a little over the top for zoom meetings if i could give any brides advice, i would say: 1) enjoy the planning time together when you're making your wedding your own, 2) communicate with your vendors on your vision and then trust them to execute, and 3) go to the persnickety bride and persnickety promotions for as many things as you can because you'll get the highest quality items and care , vendor team dress: justin alexander signature from the persnickety bride jewelry and veil: the persnickety bride venue: indian harbor yacht club (greenwich, ct) photographer: gustavo tessaro photography (monroe, ct) flowers: in bloom events by powerstation events (cheshire, ct) hair: gavali salon (fairfield, ct) makeup: transcendent makeup (farmington, ct) officiant: rings and vows - sandra gabriel, jp (monroe, ct) dj and lighting: after hours events of new england (east windsor, ct) cake: black forest pastry shop (greenwich, ct).
