Below Deck Yachts

Yacht with Below Deck logo

If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.

The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.

Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!

Below Deck Charter Yachts

Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.

But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?

Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:

Honor – Season 1

Lumiere yacht

Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.

HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.

She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).

Ohana – Season 2

Yacht Rhino

Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.

OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.

She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.

Eros – Season 3

Yacht Mustang Sally

EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.

EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.

Valor – Seasons 4 & 5

below deck sailing yacht charter

The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.

Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.

Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts

Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.

Ionian Princess – Season 1

Yacht Ionian Princess

Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.

The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.

Sirocco – Season 2

Sirocco yacht

Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.

Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.

Talisman Maiton – Season 3

Talisman

Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.

The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.

How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?

Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!

Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.

Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs

Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.

Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

When you understand the various factors that can affect the price, you can better prepare yourself for the expense and find the best option according to your preferences and budget.

Size and Style of the Yacht : Larger yachts with more luxurious amenities and features will generally be more expensive than smaller or simpler vessels. For example, a 34 to 35-foot boat might rent for about €2,000 per week, whereas a 40-footer might rent for €3,200 per week for the same dates.

Season and Availability : Peak seasons, such as the summer months in the Mediterranean or the winter months in the Caribbean, may see increased demand and higher prices than off-season dates. Booking well in advance can help secure better rates and ensure availability.

Crew and Additional Services : A fully crewed charter with a luxury private villa or hotel room may cost around $30,000, including meals, transport, and activities. However, some charters require you to pay for these expenses separately, so it's essential to check what's included beforehand.

Location : Depending on the yacht and where you plan to sail, the charter cost may vary due to regional pricing differences and local taxes or fees. For instance, a yacht charter in the Mediterranean may have different costs than one in the Caribbean or Southeast Asia.

below deck sailing yacht charter

These costs may vary depending on the yacht you choose.

Fuel Consumption : The amount you'll spend on fuel is highly dependent on factors like the distance you travel, the yacht's fuel efficiency, and the price of diesel at the time of your charter. Keep in mind that the longer you cruise, the greater the cost of fuel.

Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) : The APA is used to cover expenses like food, beverages, port fees, and other costs that may arise during the charter. Typically, guests can accumulate an additional 25% to 50% of the base charter fee through the APA, depending on what is consumed. Remember to budget accordingly for these expenses.

Crew Gratuity : It's customary to tip the yacht's crew at the end of your charter. Tips are usually around 15% to 20% of the total real cost of the charter. This is an important aspect to keep in mind while planning your trip, as it directly impacts the crew's income.

below deck sailing yacht charter

Finding the Right Yacht : To start planning your dream yacht vacation, first browse through the available yachts featured on Below Deck, such as St. David, Honor or Lumiere, Ohana or Rhino, Eros or Stay Salty, Valor or BG, My Seanna or Starship, Parsifal III, Mercury, Thalassa or Keri Lee III, Home, Ionian Princess, Sirocco, Talisman Maiton, The Wellington, and Lady Michelle. Consider factors such as the yacht's size, amenities, and the number of guests it can accommodate.

Contact a Yacht Charter Broker or Agency : Once you've selected your preferred yacht, reach out to a reputable yacht charter broker or agency who can guide you through the booking process. They will help you with pricing details and availability for your desired dates. Remember that the cost will vary depending on the yacht, the length of your stay, and other additional expenses.

Review and Customize Your Itinerary : Work with your charter broker to create a tailored itinerary that suits your preferences and interests. They will help you plan the perfect destinations, activities, and menu for your 3-day charter. Make sure to communicate any specific needs or requests during this stage, such as dietary restrictions or any celebratory events that may be taking place during your trip.

Sign Contract and Make Payment : Once you are satisfied with your itinerary and pricing, your charter broker will provide you with a contract outlining the terms and conditions of your yacht charter. Review the contract carefully, sign it, and then make the necessary payments according to the payment schedule mentioned in the agreement. Keep in mind that your broker may require a deposit to secure your booking and that the final payment may be due several weeks before your departure.

Below Deck superyacht My Seanna Starship

Inside My Seanna, the star superyacht of Below Deck season nine

Related articles, superyacht directory.

As season nine of Below Deck gets underway we take a closer look at the superyacht hosting all of the action with an exclusive interview from her charter broker and Captain…

The latest season of superyacht charter TV show Below Deck may be full of colourful characters but there is one star that undoubtedly takes centre stage amidst the drama; charter superyacht Starship . Known as My Seanna during the filming but now renamed Starship following her recent multi-million sale , the 56.4 metre motor yacht was first delivered in 2000 by Seattle-based shipyard Delta Marine .

The GRP and aluminium yacht was built in just two years to a design by Glade Johnson with naval architecture by Doug Sharp . She has undergone a number of refits and upgrades since but remains instantly recognisable with her sleek, silvered hull.

Stepping inside, Starship offers accommodations for 12 guests and 11 crew. Cabins and interior spaces have been finished in a classic style with touches of opulence; richly coloured, dark wood panelling, soft furnishings in cream with gilded edges, ornate chandeliers and exquisite marble and gold features in the ensuites. A piano adds the finishing piece to the lavish saloon in which entertaining takes place and meals and drinks are hosted.

"A short but extensive refit was completed since her sale, to brighten and update the interiors, without sacrificing the opulence which makes this boat who she is," says her captain, Steve Feldman, who has been with Starship since 2003.

Starship has spent much of her life chasing the warmth, cruising through the Mediterranean during the summer months and heading back west over winter for stop-offs from Florida to Puerto Rico. She is currently based in The Bahamas and this season will be taking guests on island-hopping charters between Nassau, Eleuthera the Exumas and the Abacos. To ensure guests can fully soak up the sunshine, there are a multitude of deck spaces on board from al fresco lounges and an outdoor dining table to dedicated sunbathing areas.

A highlight is the sundeck Jacuzzi, surrounded by a cocktail bar, while down below the expansive beach club offers shaded lounge space, access to a sauna and gym, a flatscreen TV and a small galley for prepping drinks and snacks. There’s even an outdoor cinema for movie nights under the stars.

"The owner specifically purchased this yacht with chartering in the Bahamas in mind," details her charter manager at Worldwide Boat, Rod Lindor. "Ample exterior deck space, plenty of storage for toys and most importantly the shallow draft of 2.4 metres are all important elements that make Starship a great charter yacht."

However, on board spaces are not the only important element of a successful charter on Starship . To ensure all guests can make the most of their time on the water, the yacht also boasts a well-stocked toybox filled with towable inflatables, kayaks, trampolines, fishing gear, a beach party set up and gear for waterskiing or wakeboarding. Since the refit, Captain Feldman adds that the yacht offers an "enhanced toy inventory," now offering "four jet skis, four sea bobs, dive gear including a dive master and a 12 metre Intrepid tender outfitted for fishing and diving." For exploring the surrounding coastline or for making a smooth entry or exit, Starship is additionally equipped with a helipad.

"The beauty of Starship is the versatility to accommodate groups of all types; from families and corporate guests to an all adults trip," explains Lindor. "With a mixologist, personal trainer, tea sommelier, and divemaster on board, there is a little something for everyone to enjoy."

With so much on offer, Starship perfectly sets the scene for the action of Below Deck to take place while still offering the ultimate luxury experience for charter guests on board. Lindor attests that her star appearances on the show have been a positive for the yacht, which was already "a bit of a celebrity in the yachting industry" even before her involvement.

" Below Deck has been great overall for the charter industry, as it has brought chartering a yacht more mainstream. Overall the publicity has been beneficial," adds Lindor.

Starship is managed for charter by Worldwide Boat with a weekly charter rate starting from $260,000. Episodes of Below Deck season nine air on Bravo every Monday at 21:00 ET, or can be streamed via Peacock TV the next day.

You Won't Believe How Much It Costs to Charter a 'Below Deck' Yacht

Shannon Raphael - Author

Jun. 5 2020, Updated 1:20 p.m. ET

If you're a fan of Below Deck or its counterpart, Below Deck Mediterranean , you know that the clear ocean water, the cliff sights, and the on-demand food from an expert chef are enviable luxuries.

What's not a luxury? Having crew members scrutinize everything about the guests' antics, idiosyncrasies, and preference sheets on national television. We're breaking down exactly what a Below Deck charter costs, and what the show offers guests as an incentive to air their lives on TV.

How much does a Below Deck charter cost?

When you charter a boat from Below Deck , you can expect one that is 150 to 160 feet in length that features multiple decks and luxury guest quarters.

The service staff does turn-down service, unpacks suitcases, and waits on guests for any food or drink requests that they may have. The deck crew sets up any water toys — from slides to jet skis to rides to shore on the tender. Guests can request off-boat excursions as well, that the crew plans and executes.

The yacht featured on the shows are usually worth around $15 to $20 million, with Below Deck Mediterranean 's Sirocco ringing in at over a whopping $18.5 million. According to a yacht site , My Seanna, which was featured on Below Deck Mediterranean 's sixth season, had the most expensive weekly rental cost starting at $300,000. The boat was also the longest one in the show's history at nearly 180 feet. Many of the boats featured on the show are given new names by production.

If you're interested in chartering one of these mega yachts, expect to have at least $140,000 on hand for the weeklong venture. Ohana from Below Deck Season 2 — which is actually named Rhino — is the least expensive yacht on the list and can hold up to 10 guests.

The smaller size of the boat may have contributed to the lower price, but it has been renovated since the show aired. It's important to remember that these costs do not include the tip, which tends to be anywhere from $15,000 (if service was awful) to $30,000.

The guests get a huge deal on the charter cost.

With the huge cost of chartering a Below Deck boat, it's fair to assume that guests would be getting a significant deal in order to allow cameras to film what is supposed to be a vacation.

Producer and creator Mark Cronin confirmed that guests get a 50 percent discount on the three-day charters, and their airfare is covered by production. The guests are responsible for paying the tips, however, which are supposed to be 15 to 20 percent of the total real cost of the charter.

The staff of the boat also makes money from production for being on the show. It's some consolation if the tip doesn't quite measure up.

If you watch the show, then you know that these coveted tips often cause a significant amount of the show's drama. Most guests on the show give a speech before leaving the boat about the successes and failures of the staff before handing the tip in. Mark also said that every charter is included on the season, even if the guests are boring. So there's no hope that being tame will get you a discounted charter and no air time.

The moral of the story is that if you ever want the chance to have chief stew Hannah bring you an omelet in the morning, it's going to cost you quite the pretty penny. Below Deck Mediterranean airs on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4: who's who in the new season

Meet the familiar and new faces aboard the Parsifal III this season.

The Parsifal III on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

It's time to set sail once again with Captain Glenn and the crew of the Parsifal III. Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back for season 4, setting sail from the stunning coves and marinas as Sardinia, Italy.

There are plenty of familiar faces, including Captain Glenn, Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin Macrae. The rest of the crew is made up of newcomers to the show and the franchise, and time will only tell whether they have what it takes to sail the seas aboard the Parsifal III.

Thanks to Bravo, we have biographies for the returning and new members of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4.

Captain Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn Shephard in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

Captain Glenn returns for his fourth season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht .

"Originally from Montreal, Capt. Glenn’s life has always been dictated by the need to see the world. Early on in his travels, he was invited onboard a 50-foot classic sailboat to work as a deckhand and was immediately hooked and has never looked back. With over 22 years in the industry and 13 years as the Captain on Parsifal III, Glenn has hosted hundreds of high-end guests over many busy charter seasons. Glenn knows how to keep his cool while catering to the uber elite. This laid-back Captain is calm until his limits are pushed. Don’t mess with Capt. Glenn!"

Daisy Kelliher, Chief Stewardess

Daisy Kelliher in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"Returning chief stew Daisy Kelliher is considered a yachting legacy. Her grandfather was an Olympic sailor for Ireland in 1964, and her parents – and many aunts and uncles – were yachties. Daisy has a lot to live up to when she returns to Parsifal III after a successful last two seasons and can always be counted on to give you a piece of her mind and let her hair down to have a good time."

Gary King, First Mate

Gary King in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"Having captained smaller boats and run the deck on several busy super yachts, Gary’s 13 years of experience is apparent in the way he runs his deck team. On one hand, he rules his department with an iron fist but on the other hand, he is never the type to leave a party first. He brims with mischievous charm but his flirtation gets him in hot water on and off deck."

Colin Macrae, Chief Engineer

Colin Macrae in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

Longtime sailor Colin MacRae worked as a Chief Engineer on super yachts for 15 years before joining Parsifal III for his third season. With a big heart and an impish smile, Colin is more than happy to lend a hand anywhere that he might be needed. However, when Colin’s kindness gets mistaken for weakness, fireworks fly.

Chef Ileisha Dell

Chef Ileisha Dell in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

Ched Ileisha Dell joins the Parsifal III for her first season.

"With over 17 years of culinary experience, Chef Ileisha has been living her dream as a yacht chef since 2014, merging her passion of cooking, traveling the world and working and living on the water. Originally from a small beach town on the east coast of Australia, she worked her way into some of Sydney’s most prestigious kitchens as a pastry chef. Chef Ileisha has taken many leaps in her career, working as a prep chef for Matt Moran for his cooking show, working as a private chef for one of Sydney’s most famous households and accompanying another family on their yachts across the Mediterranean for two years. To stay in tune with her creativity, Chef Ileisha also loves photography, film, interior design, yoga and scouting for vintage glassware."

Mads Herrera, Stewardess

Mads Herrera in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"Born and raised in South Florida, Mads spent much of her time in the water and on yachts, so it was only natural she ended up in the maritime industry. With two years of experience, Mads has worked on day charters and boat deliveries and is eager for the new challenges of working on a charter yacht. A true adventurer, Mads lives life in the fast line traveling the world, riding dirt bikes and sky diving."

Alex Propson, Deckhand

Alex Propson in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"Originally from Wisconsin, Alex got his jumpstart in yachting while networking in Los Angeles. He moved to South Florida and kept up his career as a deckhand since achieving his captain’s license. The career change was influenced by the pandemic after spending eight years in sales. You can always find Alex staying active whether practicing yoga, playing basketball or diving in top destinations around the world."

Chase Lemacks, Deckhand

Chase Lemacks in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"A southern gentleman from South Carolina, Chase knows how to turn on the charm for the demanding guests this season. Chase originally joined the world of yachting with the dream of one day sailing around the world running charters on a sailboat of his own. Having solely worked on large motor yachts since 2019, it was an exciting challenge and welcome change of pace to come on board a sailing vessel. When he’s not on deck, he loves to get his hands dirty backpacking, hunting and fixing up old homes."

Lucy Edmonds, Stewardess

Lucy Edmonds in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

"Originally from Wales, Lucy shines with a bubbly personality and enthusiasm that makes her the perfect fit for the interior team. After feeling stuck at university during the pandemic, Lucy, who has a wide breadth of experience in the hospitality world, set sail and joined the yachting industry. Before getting her start in the Mediterranean, she worked at high-end restaurants and became a club VIP manager at only 19 years old. When she’s not chartering across the globe, Lucy enjoys a more laid-back lifestyle of playing sports and watching rugby."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 airs Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo.

Who are Noreen and Rob Curry? 'Below Deck' Season 11 charter guests are yacht owners with a taste for luxury

SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA: In the next episode of 'Below Deck' Season 11 , viewers can look forward to meeting fresh faces in the form of Noreen and Rob Curry, the latest primary charter guests set to shake things up on the yacht.

Noreen, a philanthropist, devotes her time to giving back to the community by spearheading fundraising efforts for scholarships aimed at supporting disadvantaged children. On the other hand, Rob has experience in the business world, having successfully sold and acquired multiple companies.

Apart from their philanthropic and entrepreneurial pursuits, both Noreen and Rob indulge in the luxurious lifestyle of yacht ownership and are well-accustomed to the impeccable service standards typically associated with butlers.

In a sneak peek from the upcoming episode, Rob can be seen talking about the pair's boat by saying, "This is three times the size of our boat. We have 62 foot boat. Right, you know I'm getting boat envy." On the other hand, Noreen chimed in, "Can't wait for my Jacuzzi tonight."

Fraser Olender, the chief stew, expressed his enthusiasm about welcoming a family onboard the yacht. He noted that while they've hosted a diverse array of guests previously, this particular group brings an extra level of thrill to the experience.

Both Noreen and Rob seem to prioritize their privacy and opt to keep their personal lives discreet. Noreen's choice to set her Instagram profile to private underscores her preference to restrict access to her online presence. In contrast, Rob also values his privacy, evident from his absence on Instagram unlike his wife, which suggests his inclination towards a more low-key lifestyle.

In the upcoming episode of Bravo's popular yachting program, viewers can expect to see the couple enjoying quality family time with their children as they embark on exciting adventures and create lasting memories together.

What are 'Below Deck' Season 11 primary charter guests Noreen and Rob Curry's dietary preferences?

The primary charter guests, Noreen and Rob Curry from 'Below Deck' Season 11, boast diverse tastes in cuisine, relishing Mexican, Italian, and Japanese food. Rob, in particular, has a penchant for breakfast foods such as eggs, chicken, apple sausage, and pineapple.

When it comes to lunch, he tends to gravitate towards options like a chicken salad sandwich or a Chinese chicken salad. For dinner, the Currys are fans of dishes featuring chicken or sushi.

Who will join primary charter guests Noreen and Rob Curry on 'Below Deck' Season 11?

In the forthcoming episode of 'Below Deck' Season 11 , Noreen and Rob Curry will host a family reunion aboard the yacht. Their eldest son, Bobby Curry, who juggles a career as a banker during the week and manages a nightclub on weekends, will be joined by his girlfriend, Eden, for the trip.

Joining the reunion will be their middle child, Sarah Rose Curry, who recently graduated from UCLA. The youngest member of the family, daughter Kate, will be accompanied by her dancer friend Daly. It will be a special and eventful episode as the Curry family comes together to enjoy a luxurious vacation on the St David yacht.

‘Below Deck’ Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy

Below Deck Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy [Credit: YouTube]

The charter guests of Below Deck Sailing Yacht are speaking out about that low tip. In the Monday, March 14, episode, the notorious charter guests only tipped $6,500, which is the lowest in the show’s history. The charter guests are already making history for all the wrong reasons. Fans called them the worst charter guests in Below Deck history.

Erica Rose returned with her mom, Cindi Rae Rose, and her husband, Charles Sanders. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher was not excited about her returning, and the two have been in a war of words ever since. In fact, the charter guests haven’t stopped talking about their time on the yacht.

Erica Rose explains the reason for the low tip

Erica made an appearance on the Another Below Deck podcast . She explained that her fellow guests refused to contribute to their tip. The group knew they were responsible for the tip. While they were aware of the rules, they didn’t want to tip the hard-working crew members.

“The whole group is responsible for tipping. We had to pick up the slack for everyone else because no one else tipped.”

As Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans know, the crew busted their behinds to make the charter guests happy. In a previous episode, Erica’s husband Charles received backlash for calling the food “disgusting” and that he had better at a “ballpark.” He claims that producers told him to call out Chef Marco Spaziani’s food.

Below Deck Charter Guests Charles And Erica [Credit: Instagram]

The couple said that all of the guests had to contribute to the tip. If that were the case, that would’ve brought the tip to $25,000. She claims they had a serious conversation about the tip before leaving the boat. Yet, her former friends have a different story as well as the proof.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 crew got the worst tip in history

Both Erica and Charles got called out for their lies. Per Monsters & Critics , fellow charter guests Rhett and Janelle Flatt said they have proof of a conversation she had with Erica. Janelle took to her Instagram account to share screenshots of their text message exchange. She claims that Erica lied about the tip.

In the text message exchange, Janelle asked Erica how much they should tip the crew. Erica responded, “Our price includes tip! We can bring cash and tip extra if we want. I over tipped last time. I think prices is ($) 5000/ per person including tip!! Not per couple. [SIC].”

Erica also seemingly wrote, “So it’s like ($) 3,000 per person, the $900 required tip and then ($)1,100 airfare is how it comes out to $5,000.”

Rhett became the hero of the show when he called out Charles for slamming the food. In another scene at their beach lunch, Charles called Janelle a “b***,” Rhett approached him and threatened to punch him out. Many Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans praised him for it. Janelle had more to say on Instagram and said they were never friends of Erica and Charles.

Janelle is a hairstylist and Erica was one of her clients. Erica invited her to the yacht trip, and of course, she wanted to go. But the moment they left the yacht, she fired Erica. The two are no longer speaking.

What are your thoughts on the tip? Do you agree that it’s the worst in the show’s history? Sound off below in the comment section. Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.

Haha, sure. You understand that no one believes your made up story.

Not just the worst guests, Charles, Erica, and Cindi are horrible humans. However, producers do pull people aside and give directions for story line. Charles may be telling the truth about that one thing, especially since he praised the dinner at first. Best dinner he ever had, apparently. I wish producers would stop. It doesn’t have to be drama all the time!!!

The most classless was LaQuisah from episode 13 season 10. She requested gold steak. She was a pain in the a– 7 a HUGE glutton. You can tell that she eats at Popeyes, and Red Lobster, and would take all the shrimp even if she didn’t eat it.

Below Deck Med Fans Will Recognize This Sailing Yacht Charter Guest

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest was one of the last to taste Mila Kolomeitseva's food.

below deck sailing yacht charter

We couldn't take our eyes off of the charter guests in the March 9 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Not only were they some of the wildest we've ever seen, but we also welcomed back a familiar face.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Peacock and the Bravo app .

Dr. Frank Martinis was one of the so-called "Long Island bros" who chartered the Parsifal III  in the episode (clip above). And while his name might not be at Dean Slover -level of recognizability, he has definitely played a major role in the world of all things Below Deck .

Frank appeared in not one but two seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean prior to this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . He joined Captain Sandy Yawn 's friend, Dr. Jennifer Berman, when she chartered the yacht in Season 3 and 4 of Below Deck Med .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Frank Martinis 01

That means Frank had already eaten food prepared by Adam Glick and knew that he could expect nothing but the best cuisine from the chef. However, Frank also had the pleasure (or should we say the misfortune?) of being part of the last charter group to eat Mila Kolomeitseva 's food before Captain Sandy fired her in Season 4 .

Frank isn't the only notable charter guest to have climbed aboard the Parsifal III this season. The primary for the second group of charter guests was Whitney Thompson Forrester, who viewers will recognize as the winner of Cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model .

Below Deck renewed for Season 12: What about Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

Aesha Scott and Daisy Kelliher confessionals

Below Deck Season 12 has been confirmed, but there are still so many questions regarding the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under.

Last week, Bravo announced that several shows have been green-lit for another season, with Below Deck Season 12 at the top of the list.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Kerry Titheradge and a couple of Season 11 crew members will be back for another season of the OG show.

While the return of Below Deck is undoubtedly great news, fans are worried about the lack of renewals for Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

So, should Below Deck fans be concerned about the future of the Below Deck spin-offs?

Let’s take a look at what we know.

Why were Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht not renewed by Bravo?

There’s a very good reason why the two Below Deck spin-offs were not renewed right now. Neither of their already-ordered seasons have aired yet, so Bravo isn’t in a rush to get a new season in the can.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 and Below Deck Down Under Season 3 have been filmed and will eventually air on Bravo.

Last month, Bravo revealed that Below Deck Med Season 9 will premiere after Below Deck Season 11 wraps, rather than Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 , as fans had hoped.

The schedule change and the lack of news about Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht have fans in a frenzy. But there’s no reason to fear the two Below Deck spin-offs are done for good.

After all, Below Deck Med wasn’t renewed for Season 10, and we all know the Captain Sandy Yawn spin-off isn’t going anywhere before the milestone season.

It means we must wait until the already-filmed seasons air before getting news on future ones. Honestly, at this point, we would be happy with info on the seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under that have been filmed.

More Below Deck news

The Below Deck world has been busy over the past week with lots of information coming out, including Fraser Olender and charter guest Steven.

Below Deck Med star Aesha Scott got engaged to her longtime love, Scotty Dobson.

Captain Sandy Yawn married her longtime love, Leah Shafer, last weekend, with several Below Deck fan favorites in attendance for the nuptials.

There’s also not great news for a Below Deck Season 11 reunion show, but not all hope has been lost just yet.

Captain Jason Chambers has shared a message with Below Deck Down Under fans while they wait for Season 3, and it’s so good!

Keep checking back with Monsters and Critics for all the Below Deck news.

Meet ‘Home,’ the Sleek 164-Foot Superyacht That Starred in ‘Below Deck’

The 164-footer was not only the backdrop for the reality series but also has hybrid propulsion and a "50 shades of white" interior., julia zaltzman, julia zaltzman's most recent stories.

Superyacht Home by Heesen

The 164-foot motor yacht Home was Heesen’s first hybrid yacht when it delivered in 2017. It was also the first yacht to combine hybrid propulsion with a Fast Displacement Hull Shape (FDHF), which is proven to outperform conventional hull forms at all speeds. Built in lightweight aluminum, Home delivers 48 percent more fuel efficiency than other yachts of the same size.

Another perk of the hybrid propulsion package is reduced noise and vibration. Sensory expert Barry Smith, founder of the Centre for the Study of the Senses, discovered that the enjoyment of fine dining and wine while cruising in electric mode is significantly enhanced.

“Our research has shown that the brain’s processing of taste is affected by noise, which reduces the tongue’s ability to detect salt, sweet and sour,” says Smith. “The beauty of Home is the ability to run at a sound of around 46 decibels—the sound level of softly falling rain—enabling those on board to enjoy food and drink with no diminution of taste.”

Home began as a speculation build by the shipyard, before the American owner stepped in to the project. The initial interior was not to his liking, so he engaged Italian designer Cristiano Gatto to rework the design. He mandated simplicity, rather than minimalism. He also requested decor inspired by his residences, reflecting their contemporary Ibiza style. One perfect example: The slinky metal chaise lounge in the main salon by Italian designer Franco Poli.

Here are 10 facts about one of the world’s first hybrid yachts.

Star of the Med

below deck sailing yacht charter

Home ’s fortune took a sharp turn in 2022 when it became the star of the seventh season of Below Deck Mediterranean . Filmed in Malta, the reality series followed its crew over an eight-week charter season, with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm. Unlike most yachts on Below Deck, Home retained its real name on screen. It was the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on the show, and in typical style, the producers added a dancing pole to the sundeck to spice up the onboard antics.

50 Shades of White

below deck sailing yacht charter

Home takes the trend for neutral interiors to a whole new level. Alongside a color palette of black and gray with pops of deep red, the yacht features 50 shades of white, from off-white to ivory. The original owner mandated an interior that gave him a “home away from home”—hence the yacht’s name. Low-slung sofas and bespoke loose furniture create a relaxed and welcoming beach club ambience. The vessel’s teak flooring and full-height glass windows blur the distinction between inside and out.

Party Lounge

below deck sailing yacht charter

One of Heesen’s signature areas is an upper-deck sky lounge. Home ’s casual bean bags, daybeds, and stark-white bar with LED strip lighting provide a natural extension to the alfresco dining terrace. When the doors to the aft deck are shut and the furniture removed, a mirror ball and a smoke machine are added turning the area into a dedicated party room for nighttime use.

A Dreamier Shade of Pale

below deck sailing yacht charter

Full-height windows in the full-beam, main deck owner’s suite bounce natural light off the paler-than-pale color scheme. The off-white bed, rug, walls, and ceiling are offset with a sky-blue bed throw. There is a dressing room, an en suite with shower and a private office. There’s also a full-beam VIP cabin on the lower deck, as well as two double cabins and two twin cabins to accommodate 12 guests, including families.

Moody Sundeck

below deck sailing yacht charter

Home ’s sundeck is the hub of the boat. There are sun lounges forward with privacy glass safety screens to shelter guests from sea spray and wind. Beneath the hardtop bimini is a large sit-up bar and lounge area, which also doubles as an outdoor dining area. The bar lights up in soft pastel shades at night to bring the party atmosphere. Aft is a Jacuzzi, while a projector and a screen set-up transform the deck into an outdoor cinema.

On the Nose

below deck sailing yacht charter

The yacht is easily spotted on the horizon, thanks to its distinctive plumb bow. The vertical front increases Home ’s waterline length, helping it to slice through waves and lift in rougher water. It guarantees a smoother and faster ride for guests, as well as creating more room on the interior for crew accommodations. For a more immersive journey, a telescopic seat on the foredeck rises from the bow for 360-degree views.

Sea Terrace

below deck sailing yacht charter

A central staircase on the main deck aft leads down to an oversized swim platform that doubles as a sea-level sun lounge. With plenty of room for daybeds and sunrise yoga sessions, it’s the perfect waterside hang out.

The Athletic Club

below deck sailing yacht charter

The lower-deck gym is a full-beam, air-conditioned space for guests to sweat it out. It’s kitted out with a range of equipment, including a workout bench, Techno Gym dumbbells, an exercise bike, and a rowing machine. When guests are done with their workout, they’re just a few steps from the sea for the ultimate plunge to cool off.

The Electric Package

below deck sailing yacht charter

The twin 805 hp MTU engines (smaller than those typically fitted on a yacht of this size) can be operated in four different cruising modes: hybrid (with noise levels in the owner’s stateroom measuring as low as 46 decibels), economic, cruising (consuming as little as 12 gallons per hour at 9 knots), and boost, which pushes the boat to a top speed of 16.8 knots.

Fast, Efficient Hull

below deck sailing yacht charter

At the time of launch, Home was the first yacht to combine the super efficiency of an FDHF hull, designed by Van Oosenan Naval Architects, with hybrid propulsion. The combination was celebrated with a RINA green award presented by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 1 Almost Sank the Series

The first season of 'BDSY' traveled some rough seas.

The Big Picture

  • Below Deck Sailing Yacht had casting issues and crew dynamics that led to a messy first season.
  • The show learned from its mistakes and retooled for Season 2, introducing a new cast that brought magic to the series.
  • Captain Glenn and his new trio have become the longest-running and best group within the Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht was the second spin-off of the flagship program that was launched on Bravo. The first season introduced viewers to the crew of Parsifall III, a motoryacht with a twist: a big, ol' sail! Led by Captain Glenn Shephard , the first season was filled with the typical yachties that have made fans love the Below Deck programs. They even welcomed a familiar face in Chef Adam Glick to the yacht. With two seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean under his belt, he was meant to help steer the ship to success. But something didn't work. Was it the awkward boatmance between Chef Adam and Chief Stew Jenna MacGillivray ? Was it the real-life couple working on deck, Padget Berry and Ciara Duggan ? Whatever it was, after Season 1, Below Deck Sailing Yacht essentially emptied the bunks of Parsifall III and Captain Glenn returned with an entirely new crew — and the rest is history. Season 1 had growing pains and needed to be retooled in order for Below Deck Sailing Yacht to truly sail off into glory.

Below Deck has been one of Bravo's biggest assets since its 2013 debut. Following the work lives of a crew on a superyacht, Below Deck showcases the highs and lows of one of the most stressful jobs on the planet. Sure, it looks all luxurious and incredible, but the drama is real. Like many Bravo hits, to capitalize on its success, Bravo green lit Below Deck spin-offs. Following Below Deck Mediterranean , Below Deck Sailing Yacht followed the same formula, but it had growing pains that almost kept it docked forever .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

In a reality TV series, a crew aboard a luxury sailing yacht navigates the challenges of providing five-star service to affluent guests while managing personal dynamics and the unpredictable nature of the sea. Each episode reveals a blend of high-seas adventure and behind-the-scenes drama among the crew members.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Botched Its Casting

Below Deck Sailing Yacht set sail in 2020 in the stunning locale of Greece. With the job tougher than ever and the stakes higher than before, the success of Parsifall III truly depended on the wind in their sails. Beause it came with a new type of vessel for viewers to see, the 180-foot luxury sailing yacht was billed as an even grander once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unlike the flagship franchise's Captain Lee Rosbach and the first spin-off's Captain Sandy Yawn , Below Deck Sailing Yacht relied on an old faithful captain who spent many years aboard the ship. While the others have gone from vessel to vessel, Captain Glenn Shephard's vast knowledge of Parsifall III allowed him to welcome the viewers into his home away from home. Captain Glenn wasn't there to be a reality star ; he was there to do his job, the job he loved to do. To supplement the reality show tropes that make these programs watchable, Below Deck Sailing Yacht had to ensure the rest of the cast was filled with personalities that would be enticing to watch.

Since Parsifall III already had members of the crew on board, the show decided to keep two members of the sailing yacht's crew, casting them as the power couple that they thought fans would fall in love with. Prior to the start of the season, Paget Berry was the yacht's First Officer, the closest position to a Bosun, while Ciara Duggan was a stewardess, working in the interior. But for some bizarre reason, likely for added drama, Captain Glenn pushed Ciara to the exterior to act as a deckhand, which meant she would be working under her boyfriend.

Fans also learned that this would mark the first time the pair ever worked directly with one another in this capacity. Has this ever worked to solidify a healthy relationship? Very rarely. With two familiar faces on Captain Glenn's staff, Below Deck Sailing Yacht brought on a Below Deck alum to help integrate the show into the Below Deck Cinematic Universe. Chef Adam Glick had a whiplash of a journey during his time on Below Deck Med . Often found bickering with Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier , undermining her authority, and going rogue with his meals like putting onions in dishes when the primary specifically put on his preference sheet that he did not want them, Chef Adam was an interesting option to be the familiar face for the franchise to start with. But hey, an angry, temperamental chef is a stereotype for Below Deck so it seemed fitting .

The Interior Team Was a Nightmare on Season 1 of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'

Knowing Chef Adam had a rocky relationship with the head of the interior, it was expected that whoever was in charge on Parsifal III would suffer the same fate as their counterpart in the Med. But it couldn't be further from the truth. Jenna MacGillivray was brought on as Chief Stew. She was not the warm and cuddly personality, but had a similar demeanor to the original Below Deck Chief Stew Adrienne Gang . Both women's mission was to assert their authority and had run-ins with many of their colleagues. For Jenna, there was one exception: A second romance bloomed on Parsifall III between Chef Adam and Chief Stew Jenna.

On paper, watching love blossom should warm the hearts, but this duo was toxic, and Jenna left a lot to be desired, as she rarely ever took accountability for focusing on her school-girl romance with Chef Adam over her duties as Chief Stew. The interior team is central to the story, as they spend the most time with the guests on camera. Jenna became unbearable when she fell in love , and things got messy. Her obsession with her relationship over her job almost sank the ship.

With so many questionable choices in the cast, there had to be someone on the crew that could breathe sanity into the Below Deck spin-off. Turning to the interior, Jenna's two stewardesses were Madison Stalker and Georgia Grobler . Madison very quickly became the audience's voice of reason as she saw the chaos on board. She dealt with the brunt of Jenna's frustrations and lack of interest in establishing a working relationship with her. Madison was great at her job, she just never got the praise she deserved. She became the season's punching bag; hence, the majority of her story was filled with Jenna trying to tear her down, and Chef Adam following suit because he had to side with his girl.

When it came to Georgia, the 3rd Stew was clearly unaware of relationship boundaries. It's one thing to have a crush, but when you're living and working with your crush, whose girlfriend is also sleeping feet away from you, perhaps it's best to turn things down a few notches. Georgia's crush on Paget was simply uncomfortable to watch. Her entire journey on Below Deck Sailing Yacht comprised of trying to serenade Paget with the only original song Georgia had in her songbook. What was worse? Paget fed into it — with his girlfriend present! Her flirtation was cringe, and yet it wasn't even as hard as Jenna went for Chef Adam.

'Below Deck Down Under' Is Bravo's Best Kept Secret

'below deck sailing yacht's season 2 cast turned the seri.

On deck, joining Ciara and Paget for half the season, was Parker McCown . He resigned from his position due to his well-being, as his back and forth with Paget was wearing him down. Parker was replaced by Christopher Miller , who was almost a non-existent personality for the remainder of the charter season. He was kind, he worked well, but suffered a back injury that nearly derailed his entire career. Unlike any other Below Deck series, Below Deck Sailing Yacht featured the Chief Engineer as an on-screen character. Byron Hissey was much older than the majority of the crew, so his presence wasn't as drama-filled comparatively. As a character, he was a swell guy, but he just didn't have the aspirations to make good reality television.

Every season of Below Deck features some sort of mess. Maybe it's caused by the elite vacationers or the drama within the bowels of the ship, but the mess of Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's first season was the mess of its cast. Casting is hard; these nine individuals lacked chemistry and didn't gel. There's no predicting how individuals will react — it's the core of the experiment of reality television. The stories that this cast created were ripe for drama, they just didn't play out well.

Thankfully, the show learned from its mistake and retooled the entire second season. The only returning cast member was Captain Glenn. Fans were then introduced to Chief Engineer Colin MacRae , Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher , and First Officer Gary King, and magic was instantly made! Captain Glenn and his new trio have remained with the program since Season 2, are the longest running tenured group within the Below Deck franchise, and make it one of the best in the franchise. The moral of this story is perfection takes time. You won't always catch lightning on the first try. Below Deck Sailing Yacht is proof. They ditched the navy blue polos and opted for those infamous orange ones ; that's how badly they needed to distance themselves from that first season.

This season, when the chief stew and chef discover they’re on different pages, mistrust and miscommunication makes for an extremely volatile working relationship that impacts everyone on board. As department heads undermine each other’s authority, arguments trickle down the chains of command as tension reaches an all-time high between the interior and exterior teams. With new safety protocols in place, the crew must stay on the yacht in between charters, blurring the lines professionally and personally, leading to a boat-load of nauti-yachties.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8 Was A Let Down (And How Aesha Scott Will Make Season 9 Better)

Below deck's ben willoughby is furious as he makes major accusation against captain kerry, below deck season 12 crew spotted filming again as fan photo causes massive confusion (spoilers).

  • Chefs are crucial to a charter's success on Below Deck; they must meet guest demands to avoid being fired.
  • Chef Anthony was replaced in Below Deck for poor organization despite being a great chef with unfinished meals.
  • Chef Nick entrance in Below Deck was controversial; bad jokes and comments led to crew tension and disrespect.

The Below Deck franchise has featured plenty of chefs, and some have been more unhinged than others. The reality series highlights the lives of the crew members working on superyachts around the world. The mainstay series debuted in 2013 and has aired a slew of spin-offs. Below Deck has 11 seasons under its belt , and it’s undoubtedly one of the best reality TV shows right now , highlighting the highs and lows of the crew. For a charter to run smoothly, the crew must work together. A large piece of that puzzle is the chef.

Chefs have one of the most important jobs in the crew, as they’re tasked with creating outstanding food for guests. If chefs can't meet the needs and demands of charter guests, they may be fired. Despite taking on most of the charter season during Below Deck season 11, Chef Anthony Iracane was replaced by Chef Nick Tatlock because Captain Kerry Titheradge was unsatisfied with his performance. Chef Anthony was a great chef, but his organizational skills faltered. Simple mistakes can get a chef cut on Below Deck , wreaking havoc for the rest of the crew.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 8 was one of the worst for the spin-off. Will Aesha Scott be able to make Below Deck Med season 9 better?

10 Jessica Condy

Below deck adventure season 1.

Jessica Condy was the least unhinged of the unhinged chefs to appear in the Below Deck franchise. She was the chef for Below Deck Adventure season 1. Throughout the season, Jess and Chief Stew Faye Clarke didn’t get along too well. This frustrated Jess, and she developed a bad attitude as she felt disrespected . Despite some conflict, Jess and Faye move on with the help of Captain Kerry.

9 Adam Glick

Below deck sailing yacht season 1 & below deck mediterranean season 2 & 3.

Adam Glick has appeared in several Below Deck franchises, including Sailing Yacht season 1 and Below Deck Mediterranean seasons 2 and 3. He was one of the first chefs on Below Deck Med and stirred up drama when he disobeyed the charter guests' requests about not having onion in the food during Below Deck Med season 2. They requested no onions in any of their food, and Chef Adam disregarded this not once, not twice, but three times over again. He wasn’t fired because of the situation and went on to appear on Below Deck twice more.

8 Tom Checketts

Below deck mediterranean season 5.

Tom Checketts stepped in to fill in for Chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran after he was fired in Below Deck Med season 5. Kiko’s firing was rather abrupt, and Chef Tom took over his role as the then-boyfriend of Malia White. Since he wasn’t expecting to work as a chef during the season, Chef Tom was unprepared . His food was beloved by charter guests, and he was a good chef; however, he was visibly anxious throughout Below Deck Med season 5.

7 Anthony Iracane

Below deck season 11.

Chef Anthony’s downfall in Below Deck season 11 was his perfectionism. He was the first chef of the season and got along great with most of the crew. However, Chef Anthony struggled with time management and organization . While many of the guests loved his cooking, some did not, and Captain Kerry insisted that he needed to improve. He gave him additional chances to prove himself, but in the end, Anthony’s confidence diminished , leading him to become more unorganized. He wasn’t the most unhinged chef on Below Deck, but still made many work-related mistakes

6 Ben Robinson

Below deck season 1, 2, & 3, below deck mediterranean season 1 & 4.

Ben Robinson was the first chef to appear on any season of Below Deck . He stuck with Below Deck during seasons 1 and 2 and came in towards the end of season 3 as a replacement for Chef Leon Walker. He pioneered Below Deck Med as the first chef of the spin-off and stepped in during the latter part of season 4. Chef Ben was beloved for his personality, but he still had an attitude at times . Despite some mess-ups, he’s still one of the most successful chefs from Below Deck .

5 Nick Tatlock

Coming in as Chef Anthony’s replacement on Below Deck season 11 , Chef Nick had a lot to live up to. Upon his introduction, he admitted that he was quite “ loopy ” and “ crazy .” Chef Nick joined the season as an experienced chef with a unique personality. He seemed unhinged, and the rest of the crew initially commented on how he was a lot older than the rest of their team. He was resistant to critique of his work. When Chief Stew Fraser Olender asked him to garnish the dishes for guests, he refused .

“I’ve been a chef for 22 years. I think I lost my mind a long time ago.”

Chef Nick’s mistreatment of stew Paris Field was an obvious red flag. He made some sexually charged jokes about Paris, which made the stew uncomfortable. However, one of his worst moments came when he commented on Paris’ weight . When the crew was making wraps one day, she added mayonnaise to hers, and Chef Nick told Paris she should probably not put too much on it. It’s one thing for a chef to have an oddball personality, but he took things a little too far when he continued to comment on Paris’ weight.

4 Leon Walker

Below deck season 3.

Leon Walker was the chef in Below Deck season 3. During his time on the show, it was clear Chef Leon had a gift. However, he was rather combative and argued with a lot of crew members during Below Deck season 3. He notably fought with Chief Stew Kate Chastain throughout the season and was sometimes unwilling to cook what the charter guests requested of him. His stint in the franchise ended after he started a fire in the kitchen because of uncleanliness . It was a mistake that could've been avoided if Chef Leon had been receptive to constructive criticism.

3 Mathew Shea

Below deck mediterranean season 6.

Typically, Below Deck Chefs either get along well or terribly with their crew. In the case of Chef Matthew Shea, he was notorious for arguing with the crew on Below Deck Med season 6. During the first quarter of the season, Chef Matthew couldn't work after he hurt his knee. When he got onboard, Chef Matthew fought the most with Captain Sandy Yawn during the season and when cameras went down. Captain Sandy said she would have fired Chef Matthew for his behavior if they weren't filming during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the Below Deck Med season 6 reunion, Captain Sandy said she was “ mortified ” seeing his behavior back and would never work with him again. Chef Matthew pushed back against Sandy and admitted he thought she was “ one of the worst captains ” he ever worked with. After the reunion aired, Chef Matthew alleged that Captain Sandy called him a “ pussy ” and told him “ to go f*** myself, ” per Us Weekly . Chef Matthew was a good chef but an unhinged crew member on Below Deck Med season 6.

2 Mila Kolomeitseva

Below deck mediterranean season 4.

Mila Kolomeitseva was the first female chef to be featured in the Below Deck franchise. Joining the crew of Below Deck Med season 4, Chef Mila was eager to show off her skills to Captain Sandy. However, her time was cut short in the season during episode 5 after a guest called her food “ icky .” She was known for attempting to make pancakes from boxed mixes , licking a steak, and preparing inadequate food for charter guests. When Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier questioned her about her food, she was reluctant to make any adjustments.

1 Rachel Hargrove

Below deck season 8, 9, & 10.

Rachel Hargrove is one of the best Below Deck chefs ever, regarded for her impeccable skills in the kitchen. However, at times, Chef Rachel had a sour attitude when things went awry. Across her three seasons on Below Deck , one of her most unhinged moments came when she left the yacht after she didn’t want to make what the guests had requested for dinner during Below Deck season 8. Chef Rachel had a dry sense of humor, which sometimes came off wrong. Despite these faults, she’s still one of the best chefs that the Below Deck franchise has ever seen.

There have been a multitude of chefs that have appeared across the Below Deck franchise. The chef is an integral part of each crew during a charter season. Some chefs are remembered for their delicious food, while others are notorious for their terrible moments. Below Deck has had quite a few unhinged chefs who have made the seasons memorable.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo, then streams the following day on Peacock.

Why Barbie Pascual Isn't Right For Below Deck (Her Personality Is Getting Old)

  • Barbie's personality has grown old and she doesn't fit in on the yacht, making her unfit for another season.
  • She pushes her conservative ideals on Kyle, bragging about her wealth constantly, and showing an entitled attitude.
  • Despite some growth, Barbie's spoiled upbringing and entitled attitude make her a bad casting choice for further seasons of Below Deck.

Stewardess Barbie Pascual endured ups and downs in Below Deck season 11, but her personality has grown old. While the stew initially rubbed Chief Stew Fraser Olender the wrong way, the two seemed to find an understanding shortly after Cat Baugh left the charter, being replaced by Paris Field. However, even when Fraser isn't treating her unfairly, Barbie doesn't fit in on the yacht and shouldn't come back for another season. Her antics, especially how she treated Kyle Stillie after their initial hookup, are eye-roll-worthy.

Barbie and Kyle finally hooked up in a recent episode, which has only made her behavior more annoying. While Fraser has let up on the privileged stew, she remains incredibly irritating. Paris' treatment of Chef Nick Tatlock may have gotten the most flack, but Barbie still became irritating during the charter. She had a decent run on Below Deck season 11 , but it's time for Barbie to leave yachting behind and not return to the next season of Below Deck .

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Barbie Is Too Conservative For Kyle

She doesn't let him be himself.

Barbie has been open about being from a traditional Argentinian family. Specifically, her father, the source of the family's wealth, has high standards about how his daughter should behave and who should date. Unlike most other yachties, Barbie isn't sailing the seas to make a living . Her father wants her to understand what it's like for the rest of the world to work. If Barbie wants Daddy's money to keep flowing into her bank account, it's up to her to work for that trust fund.

Barbie works hard on the boat, and her attitude has come a long way since the beginning of the season. Before she slept with Kyle, her behavior only really affected her. Barbie may live by a different set of standards than many of the yachties, but they're her values. However, now that she and Kyle are exploring a relationship, she's trying to push her standards on Kyle.

Barbie knew sleeping with Kyle would disappoint her father and was stressed about sharing the news with her family.

After Barbie and Kyle hooked up for the first time, the stew was stressed about her father finding out. Unfortunately, Barbie was aware she was being filmed, and the truth would come out eventually. She fought with herself regarding how to handle the situation, but in doing so, Barbie pushed her conservative ideals on Kyle . He tried to be respectful to her, but it wasn't enough. While she eventually forgave Kyle, it was clear the yachtie lifestyle was at odds with her own.

In a recent episode, Barbie was horrified that Kyle wore a kilt while the cast was out bowling . Kyle seemed surprised by this but agreed to behave himself for Barbie. While he was acting a bit cheeky, he wasn't really doing anything wrong. Barbie's sensibilities just don't fit in with the free-spirited crew members aboard the St. David.

Barbie Is Always Bragging About Her Wealth

She's out of touch.

In most of her confessionals, Barbie brags about her wealth. She talks about her father's opinions and expectations of her while constantly reminding viewers that she doesn't actually need the money she's making aboard the St. David. In a recent episode, Barbie admitted in a confessional that her closet looked like Saks Fifth Avenue, saying that if her dad actually ever cut her off, she'd be able to sell off most of her clothes and survive for a while.

Barbie's worst fear seems to be getting cut off, contributing to her anxiety regarding her relationship with Kyle.

Barbie is charming, but those sorts of comments have gotten old. The stew seems to have no personality outside a poor little rich girl whose dad wants to show her how the rest of the world lives. Barbie is used to getting everything she wants , and despite trying to appear down to earth, she just doesn't relate to the rest of the yachties onboard (via Bravo ). Kyle is interested in her because she's beautiful, but it's not surprising they allegedly split after the charter ended. They are incompatible outside the charter, and Kyle can't provide the wealth to which Barbie is accustomed.

Barbies Entitled Attitude Has Gone Too Far

She didn't learn from the charter.

While Fraser undoubtedly treated Barbie disrespectfully early in the charter, Barbie has an entitled attitude that's hard to deny . She is fairly well-adjusted for a woman coming from a wealthy family, but it's difficult for her to overcome her spoiled upbringing. It was entertaining to watch her have a Jack and Rose romance aboard the St. David in Below Deck season 11, but it's time for this cast member to leave Below Deck .

Yachties who seek to live an adventurous lifestyle and make a living deserve a spot on the boat more than a wealthy heiress playing house. Barbie worked hard and showed some growth on the charter, but she's not a cast member that needs to come back for Below Deck season 12 . Her personality has grown old.

Below Deck season 11 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
