Charter — KATHLEEN ANNE

Built by Feadship to a design by Bannenberg & Rowell, Kathleen Anne can boast an award-winning design and build pedigree. Her interior décor is uniquely tailored to create a warm and welcoming ambience with the guest areas, accommodation and master suite all executed to the same meticulous standard.

The saloon lounge provides two seating areas, one to port and one to starboard, and leads on to a formal dining area. There’s an exterior lounge to aft and another on the upper deck where there is also an al fresco dining area.

Kathleen Anne has accommodation for 10 guests in five suites.  The full-beam owner’s suite is on the main deck and benefits from a private study and a walk-in wardrobe. The VIP suite can be converted from one spacious king-size double with a lounge area into a separate double and twin cabin, and the remaining accommodation comprises two en suite twins.

The TVs in the saloon, sky lounge and master cabin have Kaleidescape on-demand movies and there are Apple TVs in all guest cabins.

On the sun deck, guests will find a huge sweep of cushioned sun pads, a Jacuzzi tub and freestanding sun loungers. For those wanting to keep in shape whilst on charter, Kathleen Anne’s sun deck is also equipped with a treadmill and exercise bike.

For water sports and recreation, Kathleen Anne carries two SeaBobs, two Laser sailing dinghies, water ski and wakeboarding equipment, various kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, and an array of towable inflatables that are fun for guests of all ages.

Kathleen Anne has a cruising speed of 12 knots. The yacht has stabilisers both for when at anchor and whilst underway, and is run by an experienced crew of seven.

A chic ambience is evident from the moment you step on board, with a calm and neutral palate offering rich dark wood accents and punchy colour highlights throughout, which combine to create a tailored, lively yet peaceful vibe that’s perfect for family entertaining.

With a cruising speed of 12 knots and an attentive and highly capable crew of seven, you can be sure that your every whim will be catered for. If art and design are your passions, you will feel immediately at home on Kathleen Anne.

The Experience

An oak and walnut parquet entrance lobby is offset by a striking sculptural staircase in stainless steel, oak and leather, which links all three decks and sets the tone for truly seven star luxe interiors.

An open-plan lounge and dining area boasts an oak and nickel dining table, and a contemporary furnishing scheme punctuated by curated artworks chosen by the owners, including carved limestone sculptures by John Farnham. This versatile space can be joined with the exterior deck to create a beach lounge.

Other personal touches include a rug in the dining area that’s decorated with a free form pattern inspired by the owner’s herd of Shorthorn cattle!

The full-beam owner’s suite includes a study with spectacular views, a walk-in dressing room, black and white photography by Jason Langer and a grand panelled hotel-style ensuite with white marble tops and Art Deco lighting.

Two spacious and individually designed twin cabins with green and red detail, and a further double cabin, make up the accommodation along with a convertible cabin that can be configured as a full-beam VIP stateroom with separate lounge.

Water sports lovers will appreciate the 5m Castoldi Jet tender, two SeaBobs, two Laser Picos, two kayaks, a knee board, wakeboard, paddleboards, water skis, inflatables and snorkelling equipment.

The Captain

Captain Brendon Gorn’s varied career path, which includes the operation of high-speed ferries, eventually led him to Kathleen Anne after captaining several other superyachts including Ninja, Oscar, Shandor and Sirocco.

After more than 25 years as a captain, Brendon is relishing helming a known family favourite where the crew go above and beyond each day to deliver an unforgettable experience.

His charter grounds span the east and west Mediterranean and favourite destinations include the Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia, Greece, Turkey and Croatia.  

Chef & Cuisine  

Described as a ‘true professional’ by his captain, Erik Hendriks hails from Holland and a family background that is steeped in gastronomy and hospitality. 

After hotel school, Erik worked in restaurants at home and abroad before becoming a superyacht chef two decades ago.

His passion for searching out fresh, seasonal ingredients at local markets has led to an enviable skill for cooking international classics as well as developing innovative new creations and a reputation for delivering outstanding cuisine.

Buffet breakfast offers the usual choices of fresh fruit platters, cereal, yoghurt, freshly baked French pastries and traditional cooked breakfasts with eggs any style.

Lunch might begin with smoked salmon bruschetta, capers and horseradish cream, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with hollandaise sauce and crostini with baked ricotta, wild oregano and roasted vine tomatoes followed by gazpacho, beef carpaccio, antipasti and seared tuna niçoise salad.

Dinner includes seared scallops with herb vinegar and rocket, grilled seabass with lime and chilli, slow roasted veal with thyme, polenta and garlic or Dover sole tempura. Save room for pannacotta with Grappa and blackberries, rhubarb and apple crumble and tarte tatin.

This motor yacht KATHLEEN ANNE is a superyacht of well proportioned proportions. This 39 metre (128 ft) luxury yacht was built by Feadship - De Vries Scheepsbouw Aalsmeer in 2008. KATHLEEN ANNE used to be named the project or yacht name (Sl39 Mk2). Superyacht KATHLEEN ANNE is a upscale yacht that is able to sleep a total of 10 people on board and has a total of 6 qualified crew. The firm of naval architecture which delivered this yacht's design work in respect of this ship is De Voogt Naval Architects and Guido De Groot. Bannenberg Designs Ltd in addition was responsible for this boat's interior styling.

Construction & Naval Architecture of Luxury Yacht KATHLEEN ANNE

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from De Voogt Naval Architects and Guido De Groot. The formal naval architecture drawings are the work of De Voogt Naval Architects. Motor Yacht KATHLEEN ANNE received her elegant interior designing from the interior design company of Bannenberg Designs Ltd. In 2008 she was formally launched with triumph in Aalsmeer and post sea trials and detailing was afterwards passed on to the new owner. Feadship - De Vries Scheepsbouw Aalsmeer completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. The core hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht superstructure is fabricated largely with aluminium. With a beam of 9.1 m or 29.86 feet KATHLEEN ANNE has fairly large interior. A fairly shallow draught of 2.75m (9.02ft) limits the amount of overall ports she can visit, contingent on their particular characteristics.

The motor yacht contains two efficient MTU main engine(s) and can manage a swift max speed underway of approximately 13.7 knots. The engine of the KATHLEEN ANNE produces 1055 horse power (or 788 kilowatts). Her total HP is 2110 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1576. For propulsion KATHLEEN ANNE has twin screw propellers (5 blades fixed pitch). With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she utilises Quantum Zero Speed Non-Retractable.

After a brief stint chasing the pro surfing tour it was time for a real job! Brendon spent the next 8 years on the deck of Lobster boats and then 4 more years driving high speed ferries before landing in Antibes where he started his professional yacht career. With over 21 years’ experience as a yacht captain cruising both east and west Mediterranean, Caribbean, Asia , East Coast U.S and the waters of Dubai and Oman, Brendon is a highly experienced Captain with many industry contacts and who will ensure charter guests ALWAYS get what they want. ___________________________________________________________ CHIEF STEWARDESS: Shannon Watkins (South Africian) Growing up near a small coastal town in South Africa Shannon always enjoyed the sunshine. Naturally active she was a competitive hockey player and originally trained as a fitness instructor. After honing her skills in various hospitality companies from a young age, she soon moved to superyachts, bringing with her a keen eye for detail, excellent service skills and impeccable standards. She is very attentive to guests needs, always comes with a professional approach and will go the extra mile to ensure you have a memorable time on Kathleen Anne. ___________________________________________________________ CHEF: Erik Hendriks (Dutch) Erik was born and raised in Holland with lots of family working in the hospitality industry, his father was one of the executive Chefs on the Holland-America line. After Hotel school and doing his military service as Corporal-Chef he did his apprenticeship in various restaurants in Holland and abroad. He took the opportunity to work on yachts 20 years ago, after being a head-chef for 8 years in Holland, and using his skills to work, travel and learn. He loves to work with local fresh produce and gets inspired by visiting the local markets but also has lots of international dishes in his arsenal as well as well known "classic" and new creations that complement each other. ___________________________________________________________ SECOND STEWARDESS: Marlene Vezzaro (Italian) Growing up locally in Imperia, Italy, Marlene is familiar with superyachts frequenting her local port. After working for many years in hospitality and obtaining a Masters degree in Gastronomy, she naturally moved to the high standards of Yachting. Whilst working abroad in the United States, she found herself gaining a huge interest in Yoga and has travelled far and wide to gain her 900+ hours teacher training courses. Having several years of yachting experience, She is very knowledgeable, thorough and detail orientated and should a guest need anything, Marlene will stop at nothing to make it happen. ___________________________________________________________ CHIEF OFFICER: Gary Sleeman (British) Gary is a country boy from Warminster, with a passion for the outdoors and travelling. Whether hiking new terrain with his drone or playing soccer with his friends Gary always enjoys any chance to get outside - He has a razor sharp eye for detail that ensures the exterior of Kathleen Anne is kept immaculate at all times. Being both technical and practical, Gary is ideally suited to his officer role on Kathleen Anne. ___________________________________________________________ DECKHAND: Vincent Syred (New Zealand) Vincent grew up on a small island off the coast of New Zealand's North island. He comes from a lifelong love of the sea and spent 8 years sailing his family yacht. His whole life has been centered around water sports and spent time in the United States teaching kids of all ages the joys of the small crafts. A keen diver of many years, he made a smooth transition into yachting where he can now combine his passion with professionalism. He is hardworking and above all a team player, helping Gary to make sure you have the best time in the sun and on the water. ___________________________________________________________ CHIEF ENGINEER: Philip Murrell (British) After completing his civil aviation air-engineering license, Philip started working for British airways. Deciding that a career at sea would be more interesting, he hit the books again, gaining his Y2 engineer’s ticket. Philip has now worked on boats for 20 years, including 4 years on Kathleen Anne. His engine room is kept as clean as the main saloon. When underway, Phil can be seen, pillow in hand, heading down to spend the night with his beloved engines. Off the boat, Phil and his family live in the South of France. His two young sons keep him busy when he’s not lighting a BBQ or skiing in his favourite winter spots of Auron or Isola 2000. ___________________________________________________________

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Kathleen Ann Ireland

GEORGETOWN – Kathleen Ann Ireland, 74, of Groton, Mass., and Georgetown, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday April 5, 2024, surrounded by her husband, children, dogs and cats. Kathy was born Kathleen Ann Beniot in St Johnsbury, Vt., on Jan. 13, 1950, the daughter of the late Mae Brown Askham of Mont Vernon, N.H., and Lloyd Benoit Sr. of Ellsworth. Kathy graduated class of 1968 from Alvirne High School in Hudson, N.H.

In 1969 Kathy married Michael D. Kelly and gave birth to their daughter Kristin in 1970 and son Shawn in 1972. Kathy and Mike divorced in 1989 and she married Robert Ireland on Sept. 14, 2002.

Kathy began working at Pneutronics in Pepperrell, Mass., in 1971 starting out as their receptionist and steadily moving her way up to secretary to the president then to Director of Human Resources for the remainder of her 30 plus years with the company.

Post retirement Kathy and Bob moved to their dream home in Georgetown, where they enjoyed their peaceful life together surrounded by nature, their beloved pets and their treasured community. Kathy had a lifelong passion for animals so she volunteered with a local animal rescue, fostered and adopted dogs. Kathy also loved contributing to her community via her involvement with the Working Women’s League of Georgetown. Two of her favorite hobbies were gardening and crafting especially sewing and making fairy gardens.

Kathy was a strong, caring and generous woman who always looked on the bright side of life. She saw the best in people and situations no matter how challenging. Kathy’s dedication to focusing on the positive was inspiring. Kathy was a deeply devoted mother to her children both two-and-four-legged and she was fiercely loyal to her friends and family.

Kathy’s Celebration of Life will be held at the community center of Georgetown, 19 Old Schoolhouse Road, Georgetown, ME 04548 on Saturday June 8 from 2-4 p.m.

Kathleen Anne Jayne OBITUARY

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John of 46 years, along with their daughter, Carol 26. Kathleen was the loving mother of four daughters and a grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was born in New York, New York, where she met her husband, John, and married at 19. Together, they raised four daughters, Debra Jayne-Hutchinson, Carol Davis, Kathleen Mooney, and Linda Burgo in Riverside, California. In December 2020, Kathleen moved to Globe, Arizona along with her daughter, Linda, and Linda’s husband. Kathleen’s smile could light up a room, she was kind-hearted to everyone who met her, and she couldn’t wait to make someone smile or laugh with one of her jokes or wit.Kathleen will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 1:15pm. In place of flowers, we request donations made in her name to Shriners Hospital, a charity she strongly believed in supporting.

We are sad to announce that on May 14, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Kathleen Anne Reynolds-Millett of Marseilles, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Richard Reynolds and Doris Reynolds (McElmeel). She is survived by : her husband Bill of Marseilles; her children, Kirsten Napier (Steve), Kerri Feiler, Patrick Feiler, Chris and Tim Millett; her granddaughters, Kendall, Emily and Reese Napier; and her siblings, Patricia Trocki (Harry Friedmann) and Dan Reynolds (Debbie).

Visitation was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (115 S Market St, Seneca, IL 61360). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be directed to the Marseilles Public Library.

Gagarin cup (khl) finals:  atlant moscow oblast vs. salavat yulaev ufa.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd. 

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that. 

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role. 

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.
