'Below Deck' Finale: Glenn's drug search goes awry, fans say Billy hid his stash and should have been tested

Bravo's 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' returned this week with its finale episode and it was explosive to say the least. It began with a drug investigation and ended with heartbreaks and goodbyes.

Previously, Captain Glenn Shephard was informed by his crew members — Jenna MacGillivray and Chris Miller — that they had spotted white powder under Billy's (one of the charter guests) nose. Based on their observations, Glenn had a chat with the guests and expressed an interest in searching their belongings, to which Billy readily agreed while he said: "I have got nothing to hide bro." Glenn rummaged through his luggage as Madison Stalker watched. It was already a stressful situation, which got out of hand when Glenn didn't find drugs on Billy. It put off Billy and his friends on vacation. Minutes later, Billy walked up to Glenn and confronted him for conducting the search. He made it a point to let Glenn know that he was offended.

Sure, it's humiliating to be accused of something one hasn't done but Glenn's hands are pretty tied here because that's the protocol — any suspicion would lead to a search. And being caught in possession of drugs on the boat have serious legal implications. The yacht could be confiscated and Glenn could lose his license. So, there was a lot at stake and it would only be foolish of Glenn if he ignored Jenna and Chris' accounts.

Meanwhile, fans think Glenn didn't find drugs on Billy because he had already snorted all of it or hid it somewhere it couldn't be found. "I think he already snorted them so Glenn would only find out if he did a drug test," a fan commented. Another shared: "We know damn well that they hid those drugs elsewhere. They wouldn’t stash them in luggage since interior goes in. They were put somewhere in that room though. That guest was snorting something at dinner the night prior. He lyin!! #BelowDeckSailing."

One more said, "For someone who’s claiming not to have drugs on board, Billy is acting a lot like someone who may have drugs on board #BelowDeckSailing #BelowDeckSailingYacht," a viewer expressed. "The captain may not have found any drugs, but that doesn’t mean the dude wasn’t using. His behavior speaks for itself.#BelowDeckSailing." Another user tweeted, "Billy claiming he's so offended and has no drugs on board... BECAUSE HE SNORTED THEM ALL #belowdecksailing."

Is a Crew Member About to Get Kicked off 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'?

Jun. 5 2020, Updated 1:08 p.m. ET

After the absolute dumpster fire that was last season’s Below Deck, Below Deck Sailing Yacht has been relatively smooth sailing—even idyllic, for a Bravo show.

However, the new spinoff sailing series has just entered the midseason mark, which is when the drama usually tends to heat up with the cast swapping make-out buddies, losing their tempers with each other and generally being all-around messes.

In the teasers for the second half of the season, audiences were tantalized to see the possibility of a threesome brewing between Paget, Ciara and Georgia, and, of course, more ongoing drama between the most annoying couple on the boat, Adam and Jenna .

But what really caught a lot of people’s attention in the teasers was when Captain Shephard said to Jenna, “I would be very surprised if somebody few to Corfu with cocaine.”

Naturally, audiences are clamoring to figure out just who got caught with cocaine in their bag and whether that’s the end of their professional sailing career. Fans of the show will also remember the infamous drug incident from Below Deck’ s premiere episode, and the show’s no-nonsense policy when it comes to illegal substances on-board.

Keep reading while we dig into Below Deck 's cocaine scandals.

Which crew member on 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' got caught with with a stash of cocaine?

In the teaser scenes for Below Deck Sailing ’s March 30 episode, fans saw Captain Glenn confiding in Jenna, saying that he would be surprised if someone flew to Corfu with cocaine.

But in the next scene we see Captain Glenn rummaging through someone’s bag asking, “Is there anything in here that you don’t want me to find? What’s in here?” The captain ominously also adds that, “there might be a change of personnel.”

Although we don’t know exactly who the alleged drugs belong to, we do know that having illegal substances onboard is an extremely serious offense. If it turns out that Captain Glenn does find cocaine among any of the crew’s belongings, it’s safe to assume that they will be immediately fired and replaced on the boat.

What happened the last time someone found cocaine on the show?

Fans may recall the epic drug bust in the very first episode of Below Deck ’s Season 1 when stewardess Kat Held found a bag of white powder and a rolled-up dollar bill in a guest’s cabin. After Captain Lee was informed, he immediately turned his boat around to head to the dock, without even informing the charter guests until they were asked to leave the boat mid-charter .

Not only did the incident cement the no-nonsense tone of Captain’s Lee’s managing style with his crew and guests alike, it was also extremely entertaining television to watch a spoiled, rich charter guest like Johnny Eyelash (yes, that was his name) not realize what exactly was happening until he was unceremoniously kicked off the boat mid-charter.

"It was a tough situation to be in. On the one hand, we want clients to be happy. On the other hand, I don't want my boat to get boarded by the Coast Guard, and I don't want to go to jail for 25 years," Captain Lee said in his book, Running Against the Tide . "I made the decision to kick them off the boat.”

We can’t wait to see the rest of this season’s drama unfold on the Parsifal III. Tune in to Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Inside Below Deck Sailing Yacht ’s Crash, and the Dramatic Aftermath

below deck sailing yacht drugs episode

Below Deck viewers have survived kitchen fires, nightmare charter guests , dramatic dismissals, drug scandals , and soured romantic relationships. But Monday’s episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, “Total Ship Show,” is unprecedented in franchise history, in terms of its sheer disaster quotient. Within the first five minutes of the episode, the Parsifal yacht crashes into a stone dock in high winds, destroying the end of the vessel and totaling Captain Glenn Shephard ’s already-dented ego. (Last week, Parsifal suffered a less serious collision. We hope the sailing yacht is not cursed.) The rest of the episode unravels like a high-paced thriller set aboard an out-of-control luxury yacht.

The villains: the shrill, gluten-free charter guests, who are too self-involved to notice the Parsifal ’s jacked transom door. The dramatic B-plot: the chef screwing up a five-course meal by serving steak after dessert. As if this were not enough action for a single episode, there is also an STD scare that forces an otherwise respectable woman to reckon with an indiscretion.

“It was almost like an embarrassment of riches,” said Below Deck executive producer Courtland Cox, of the chart-topping chaos in Croatia. “It’s amazing that this was all happening, but it’s also difficult to tell all of these stories in an interesting way within a limited amount of time per episode.” Some viewers complained that the season was starting off too smoothly, but Cox trusted the process and knew that such interesting cast members would yield climactic story lines. “With any great narrative structure, you want to have peaks and valleys that eventually crescendo into something interesting…. The yacht crashing, guests being crazy, and Jean-Luc [Cerza Lanaux] being worried about getting an STD, all that stuff is the seasoning.”

Ahead, Cox and Parsifal chief stew Daisy Kelliher take us behind the scenes of Monday’s bombshell episode to answer all of our burning questions—about everything from the crash to the onboard romances, including Dani’s pregnancy announcement.

Executive producer Cox was tucked away in a tiny control room on the Parsifal during both accidents, where he was able to watch what was happening from three different camera vantage points, and hear what was happening from the walkie-talkie dialogue on deck. Cox said that he knew that the Parsifal was going to hit the dock about five seconds before it happened—when first mate Gary King began calling out the shrinking measurements between the yacht and the dock, but the boat, because of the intense wind and swell, kept hurtling toward the dock at full speed. Because of a mechanical error that short-circuited the thrusters, Captain Glenn was not able to propel the vessel in the reverse direction.

As the ship sped toward the dock, the Below Deck producer juggled a contradictory range of concerns: the fear of a captive passenger aboard an out-of-control vessel; worry for his fellow shipmates; heartbreak for Captain Glenn, who was about to bite it in front of multiple cameras; and, conversely, the shark-like instincts of a reality-TV producer keen to capture the chaotic melee in all of its gruesome glory.

“The human part of me, my heart aches for Glenn,” Cox told Vanity Fair. Still, he continued, “My job is to capture what’s actually happening—so we told our camera operators, ‘Stay on Glenn.’ We don’t push right up in his face or get in his way, but the story in the moment was that Glenn hit the dock. How was he going to rectify the situation?”

In addition to seeing the crash, viewers also witness Captain Glenn’s spirit breaking close up—as the sweet Parsifal pilot realizes, in devastatingly real time, that he has not only incurred thousands of dollars in yacht damages, but has done so with a camera trained on him.

“I probably watched this episode 15 times in various incarnations, and every time I see Glenn’s face in the immediate aftermath of hitting that dock, I still get very emotional,” said Cox. “It’s a catastrophic moment for any yacht captain when you do damage to a boat. It’s the worst possible thing. And I also know that that’s compounded by a factor of a million because there are TV cameras on you.”

Cox has produced 16 seasons’ worth of Below Deck, and called the crash “the second-most intense moment ever on the series.” (The first-most intense was a near-death accident in 2018 during which deckhand Ashton Pienaar was pulled overboard after his ankle was caught in ropes.) “As a producer, it’s amazingly compelling. But as a person onboard, it’s terrifying…. But Glenn is a consummate professional. He didn’t try to deflect or make excuses or try to tap dance his way out of it. He went quickly into crisis mode, damage mode.”

Parsifal chief stew Daisy Kelliher said that watching the crash in the episode was worse than living it, “because I was downstairs when it happened. I have never seen a boat that crashed the dock or been in a boat that crashed the dock.”

Speaking about Glenn, Kelliher said, “He was pretty upset at the time, but you quickly calm down. It was an accident, and the main thing is nobody got hurt. It’s like banging your car. You get the insurance sorted. You learn from it. And you move on.”

How quickly did the episode’s events happen in real life?

The unfolded over the course of about 72 hours, according to Cox. “The boat hits the dock, it looks terrible, and Glenn’s like, ‘Well, the guests are getting here in four hours.’… The crew did a great job at kind of compartmentalizing, and putting the dock behind us as these charter guests come on. And the story becomes about J.L.’ s anxiety about the STD, and [chef] Natasha’s anxiety about these guests having crazy demands that are emotionally taxing on the heels of a traumatic event…. It’s exhausting for them.”

What did producers make of another unprecedented plot twist: J.L.’s on-camera concerns about a potential sexually transmitted disease?

This twist surprised even Cox. “I’m a fossil who grew up in the ’70s and ’80s,” said Cox. “What was going through my head was, ‘There’s a very easy way he could have prevented this—by using some kind of protection. If you roll the dice, you kinda gotta accept what happens to you. I’m not a heartless monster TV producer. I don’t want anyone to ever suffer or go through something they have an existential crisis over. In that moment, you’re hoping that it’s at least one of the lesser STDs that is easily treated.”

When did producers discover that Dani was pregnant? (The cast member revealed her pregnancy on Instagram last month.)

“Dani brought it to our attention when we were pretty far into the postproduction process,” said Cox. “Even once Dani found out, I think she kind of wanted to sit with [the news] herself. Then she let us know and said, ‘Hey, just so you know, I’m pregnant.’ We said, ‘Okay, great.’ I left that up to her and how much information she wanted to give us. My first reaction was, ‘That’s fantastic. Congratulations.’ Because she made it clear throughout the season that she wanted a family. The rest of that is for Dani to figure out.”

“I really don’t ask Dani much about it,” added Kelliher in a separate phone call. “I’m very aware that that she probably feels like she’s explaining herself to a lot of people. So I try and respect her privacy. We’ve spoken a little about it, but I figure the less I know the better.”

Do Daisy and Natasha eventually get to a place of mutual understanding and respect?

“I didn’t mind her,” said Kelliher. “On the show it looks like we hated each other. We were very civil with each other, and would laugh and sit with each other. It wasn’t constant arguing—that only came when it was time to serve meals…. At that stage, I had kind of given up, because I had tried everything. She didn’t want my help. She didn’t want to communicate with me…. I’m asking you if you’re serving five courses, you’re telling me no. I could stand here and keep arguing, but I wasn’t going to win in this.… We have a good relationship now. I have respect for her. But that [tension] never changes.”

What is Daisy’s read on the love triangle tensions between Gary, Sydney, and Alli?

“I wish I had been there for some of the conversations [between the three of them], because I don’t think they would have escalated as much,” said Kelliher. “I do think Sydney was pretty intense. I knew she was upset and understood why she was upset. If you’re a girl, it’s embarrassing if somebody chooses someone over you…. But some of the things she said were quite mean to Ali, and I didn’t really like that. If I had been there, that wouldn’t have happened because I wouldn’t have allowed it.”

“I’ve definitely seen love triangles. I’ve been involved in love triangles. This was intense because it escalated so quickly. I didn’t really get it. I guess maybe we’re all intense people—maybe that’s why you do a TV show about yachting. But I did find the whole thing a bit weird from all sides. I was like, ‘We’ve known each other [for] like three weeks…and don’t even know each others’ last names.’ Settle down.”

‘Below Deck’ guests facing sea of legal trouble in prescription drug plot, authorities say

A doctor who appeared on a hit Bravo reality show was arrested on Long Island — accused of stealing the identities of cast members of the show in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs, according to law enforcement officials.

Dr. Francis Martinis — a urologist in Fort Salonga — and his wife, Jessica Martinis, who both appeared on the Bravo reality-show franchise “Below Deck,” are accused of allegedly using the personal information of other cast members to write bogus prescriptions for oxycodone.

Investigators said the scheme started to unfold earlier this year, when Jessica Martinis went to a pharmacy in Kings Park in an attempt to fill a bogus oxycodone prescription in January. According to those officials, the handwritten prescription raised concerns, prompting a pharmacist to call police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the doctor had sent dozens of prescriptions for oxycodone to Suffolk County pharmacies over a two-year period, law enforcement officials said. Many of these prescriptions were allegedly fake — written under the names of two “Below Deck” cast members.

Investigators said that Jessica Martinis would pick up the prescriptions and pay in cash as part of the alleged plot.

The duo was arrested in May and charged with eight counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and falsifying business records, law enforcement officials said.

Investigators are not revealing whether they believe the couple was using or reselling the drugs, or both.

Former New York Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni said the allegations are serious, especially amid an ongoing national addiction and overdose crisis.

“He abused the celebrity position that he had on that ship to take the identities of his crew members — if that is proven — and then use that to buy drugs,” Balboni said. “That is a common scheme for a common criminal.”

The pair were among the guests who chartered Sirocco, a luxury yacht that set sail on the French Riviera in 2019 and had part of their trip documented for “Below Deck Mediterranean.” The doctor was a guest once again the following year, this time on another “Below Deck” spinoff, “Below Deck Sailing Yacht.” The series documented life on a 180-foot sailboat that cruised the Ionian Sea.

Following their appearances in the franchise, the doctor-and-wife duo attended promotional events with other crew members.

Peter A. Crusco, the attorney representing the couple, said his clients pleaded not guilty.  "The evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated," he said.

Bravo, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News, did not respond to a request for comment.

'NYC Prep' Finally Released From The Bravo Vaults ... But Maybe It Should Have Stayed Locked Up?

The dramatic 'real housewives of potomac' cast shake-up was surprising — yet entirely necessary, 'the real housewives of dubai' sets season 2 premiere date on bravo, lisa vanderpump defends andy cohen amid cocaine allegations: "i know for a fact he wouldn't do that''.

The sails might not be the only thing getting high next week on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . In the preview for the next episode of the Bravo series, we see Captain Glenn get even madder than he was when some oil spilled on the boat, after learning there could be an illegal substance on board.

During the last charter of the season, one of the guests is seen asking her friend, “Are you okay?” and explaining, “His eyes are rolling back in his head.”

We then hear Captain Glenn say, “I would be very surprised if somebody flew to Corfu with cocaine,” and stating, “If there are illegal substances on board, I have to do something.” He goes on to say, “He’s in deep shit if there’s drugs on board in his cabin,” and we hear a loud sniff from behind a guest room door. Uh oh, looks like this bro’s paddleboarding fun is about to come crashing down.

We’ll have to wait until next week to find out exactly what happens, but fans of the franchise will remember this isn’t the first — or the last — time that drugs on the boat were an issue. In Season 1 of Below Deck , stewardess Kat Held found a bag of white power and a rolled-up dollar bill in a guest’s cabin, causing Captain Lee to turn that boat right around and kick their butts off of it mid-charter. And in the latest trailer for Below Deck Mediterranean Season 5, premiering on Bravo Monday, June 1, Captain Sandy is seen having a stern conversation where she says “It’s been brought to my attention that you have drugs on board.” Yikes! Come on people, you’re on a beautiful yacht — you should just be high on life!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Monday at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.

Couple who appeared on ‘below deck' in sea of legal trouble, facing charges in prescription drug scheme: officials, by jonathan dienst and courtney copenhagen • published december 13, 2023 • updated on december 14, 2023 at 3:30 pm, what to know.

Yet another weekend with rain coming up, but at least there is some good news

"Doctors are supposed to be trusted members of the community and with that trust comes a tremendous amount of personal and professional responsibility,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney. "Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers. The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law."

The duo was arrested in May and charged with eight counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and falsifying business records, law enforcement officials tell NBC New York.

Investigators did not reveal if they believe the couple were using, reselling the drugs or both.

Former New York Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni explained the allegations are serious, especially amid an ongoing national addiction and overdose crisis.

Peter Crusco, an attorney for the couple. said they both pleaded not guilty and that the "evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated."

"The DEA is rooted in an 'all hands on deck' approach to save lives from illegal drug misuse and abuse through enforcement, education, and prevention," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino. "We identified two individuals who brazenly diverted controlled substances intended for medicinal purposes to the illegal drug market.  These arrests are a reminder that a doctor’s illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation."

Bravo did not respond to a request for comment from NBC New York.

The two are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Balboni said, "Prosecutors will want to send a message to all other physicians -- you have special access to these drugs, you know how they work and if you do this you will be prosecuted."

Below Deck charter guests accused of stealing cast members' identities as part of opioid scheme

Urologist Francis Martinis and wife Jessica are in troubled legal waters.

Jessica is a staff writer at Entertainment Weekly, where she covers TV, movies, and pop culture. Her work has appeared in Bustle, NYLON, Cosmopolitan, InStyle, and more. She lives in California with her dog.

A couple who appeared as charter guests on episodes of the hit Bravo reality franchise Below Deck are setting sail for court after being indicted on allegations of falsely using the names of cast members in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs.

Dr. Francis Martinis, a urologist in Fort Salonga, N.Y., and his wife, Jessica Martinis, were charged with criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance and falsifying business records in Suffolk County on Thursday, the district attorney's office announced .

Prosecutors allege that Francis, 55, electronically transmitted numerous prescriptions for oxycodone to pharmacies under the names of former Below Deck cast members, and that Jessica, 38, would pick up the prescriptions and pay with cash. But the prescriptions were never intended for the purported patients — none of whom resided on Long Island — identified on the orders, prosecutors say.

The DA's office said the scheme came to light in January after Jessica tried to fill a hand-written prescription for oxycodone issued by her husband, when prescriptions are often issued electronically. When the pharmacist noticed she was not the patient listed, they contacted the Suffolk County Police Department.

The Martinises pleaded not guilty and are currently on supervised release. They're scheduled to be back in court Jan. 25.

"Doctors are supposed to be trusted members of the community," Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement. "Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers. The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law."

Peter Crusco, an attorney for the couple, called the charges "bogus" when reached for comment by EW, adding that his clients "look forward to their day in court to clear their names."

Bravo declined to comment.

The Below Deck shows follow the interior and deck crews of luxury ships and the affluent passengers they cater to during a charter season. The Martinises appeared on the spinoff Below Deck Mediterranean , and Francis also returned on Below Deck Sailing Yacht .

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 15 Recap: Kilt Bowling

below deck sailing yacht drugs episode

Welcome back to  Below Deck  Season 11, Episode 15. In this week’s episode, titled “We’ll Always Have Paris,” Dylan flirts with all the pretty young things on board while realizing that hooking up with a guest would get him fired. The interior department continues to butt heads with the chef , and Barbie is annoyed by Kyle’s literally “cheeky” behavior. Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Season 11, Episode 15.

A yachting family comes aboard

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Below Deck (@belowdeckbravo)

The charter guests who are coming today have their own yacht. They’re expecting “nothing but the best.”

“We haven’t really been challenged that much so far,” says Captain Kerry. “The team needs to step up a level. No more mistakes.”

When the guests arrive, Fraser shows them around. Their yacht in Newport Beach is “only” 62 feet. The St. David is nearly 197 feet. One of the guests claims to have “boat envy.”

“This is the kind of yachting I’m used to doing,” Fraser interviews. “Working for a family, they’ve been in yachting for a while. They have lots of money. They’re bringing their kids [and their friends] on board to congratulate them for being [shrugs] their own kids. They are not like other guests we’ve had this season. I’m finally happy to have a group on board that really know how to enjoy themselves politely.”

The guys on the boat immediately take note of all the pretty girls coming on board. This could be trouble.

Paris oversteps

below deck sailing yacht drugs episode

The first activity is a beach picnic. Chef Nick is preparing sushi, and Fraser is in his face about the presentation. He wants Nick to use a certain plate and Nick doesn’t want to plate it at all. Let the chef be the chef, Fraser.

Paris is also having trouble with Nick. On the way to the beach picnic, she tells Ben, “He’s just really stubborn.” Nick does seem a little passive-aggressive at times, calling Paris “my third favorite stew.”

At the beach, Paris and Nick get off to a bad start fighting over space. Nick feels like she’s trying to “micromanage” him. “I’ve been doing this for a long time,” he interviews. He’s got “three stripes,” while Paris only has one.

Paris asks Nick if he’s going to plate the sushi or just put it on the table. “I don’t want to have to walk around with a tray for ten minutes, asking over and over again if anyone wants anything,” she says.

“Fraser told me,” Paris interviews, “the whole plan for the beach is that it’s going to be plated. So that’s what we’re f*cking doing.”

When Chef prepares to go back to the boat to work on dinner, Paris stops him. “Hang on, we haven’t even done mains yet,” she tells him. “So I would hold off on doing that.” She’s bossy for a single-striper.

“If Paris wants to take over,” Nick interviews, “I’m not gonna stop her. I’d rather that than have an argument in front of the guests.” He’s right, of course. He needs to get back to the boat to start dinner and has “no time for this f*cking sh*t.”

Conflict in the kitchen

Chef Nick Tatlock smiling in a confessional interview on Below Deck Season 11

Back on the boat, Captain asks Nick how everything went at the beach. Nick says he had everything set up the way he wanted, and Paris changed it. Kerry’s not pleased.

“When a chef comes to the beach,” Cap says, “he has the three stripes … A single-strip stew on the beach needs to adapt to the chef, not the other way around.”

Paris tells Fraser, “You didn’t come to the beach, bitch!” You talk to your boss that way, Paris?

“That bad?” he asks.

“It was embarrassing,” she says. She tells Fraser that she overrode the way he wanted to serve the sushi and that he left early. He had to get back and cook dinner. It just doesn’t land on the plates like magic, Paris.

Captain Kerry sits in the crew mess with Fraser. “So was there some confusion on the lunch today?” he asks.

Fraser doesn’t want to make trouble. So, after a hesitation, he tells the captain, “No dramas, no tragedies. Everything’s fine. That’s all that matters.”

Kerry knows Fraser’s holding back. He’s a “little concerned,” but he’ll deal with it later.

Chef Nick is plating grilled octopus for dinner. Yum, but octopuses are very intelligent animals. It doesn’t seem right to eat them.

Nick is proud of his plating, but Paris says, “Definitely needs a drizzle.”

“I just don’t have the time or the patience right now for Paris’ sh*t,” Nick interviews. He feels like she’s trying to take over the galley, and it’s not her job. “I don’t tell her how to scrub toilets,” he adds, sarcastically.

After dinner with the guests, Kerry stops by the galley to give an attaboy to the chef. “Guests loved it, I loved it,” he tells Nick.

Dylan flirts with the girls

below deck sailing yacht drugs episode

Up on the sundeck, Dylan is flirting with the girls in the hot tub. They decide to play Truth or Dare and begin by telling the deckhand to take off his shirt and dance for them. He goes them one better and douses himself with water ala Flashdance. It’s not so sexy when he squeals when the cold water hits his chest.

He’s so tempted by them but reminds himself that hooking up with a guest is a fireable offense. He decides to play it safe and just gets their Instagrams instead.

The next morning he’s already sending DMs to the Primary’s daughter: “Last night was fun. Sucks charter ends today. Could have seen more dance water bottle moves.”

Ugh. Dylan’s a good-looking guy, but he’s socially awkward. When he opens his mouth, he ruins the whole picture. Like Sunny said a while back, “Shhh!”

The end of the charter

As Chef Nick is cooking breakfast in the kitchen, Paris is standing next to him telling him how to do it. Really?! She’s got a lot of nerve. Stay in your lane, girl. He’s a trained cook. I think he knows what he’s doing.

“She needs to back the f*ck off,” he interviews. I agree.

All too soon, the guests are saying goodbye. It was a short charter. Rob and Noreen, the primaries, are pleased with everything, including the food which was “divine.”

“Anytime you’re in Southern California, we’d love to host you all on our boat,” Rob says. “And we’ll be your crew!” And just like that, they’re gone.

At the tip meeting, Captain says, “Excellent job. We’ve got some areas to work on, like always.” The tip is $25,000, which is a lot for an overnight charter. Nice.

“That’s $1923 each,” Kerry says. “And we’ve got a free place to stay in California.”

Peace in the galley

As everyone goes back to work, Captain calls Paris to the wheelhouse. He’s not okay with a one-stripe telling a three-stripe what to do. He’s got to get to the bottom of it.

“Darling, please don’t get yourself fired,” Fraser says as Paris heads to her meeting.

“I want to talk about beach day,” Kerry says when Paris is seated. He’s got a problem with the way Paris is pushing Nick around. “He’s got three stripes on his shoulder. You’ve got one.” It’s not her place to argue with the chef.

Paris decides to throw Fraser under the bus. “When we’re organizing for the beach,” Paris says, “I’m being told by the Chief Stew, ‘This is how we’re plating.’ I assume that that’s been discussed with the chef.” She says they’ve been “butting heads” with him and it’s “frustrating.”

“He’s the chef,” Kerry says. Any disputes should be settled between the chief stew and him, not the rest of the team.

“You guys are not to be dragged into what’s going on between them two,” Kerry adds. “Stay professional.”

Next Kerry calls Fraser and Nick to the wheelhouse. “This communication breakdown between departments,” Kerry says. “I’m not f*cking having it.”

Fraser and Nick have got to work together. “I don’t need any stews telling [Nick] how to do his job.” He wants them to work together so they both know exactly what’s happening.

“I don’t give a sh*t if you like each other or not,” Kerry says. There’s one charter left. He’s done with the nonsense.

Fraser agrees that they should plan every meal before the charter, and he’ll run all meal services going forward with his staff. He and Nick fist-bump each other and go back to work.

Willies gone wild

View this post on Instagram A post shared by “Stillie” (@that.scottishguy)

Everyone’s getting ready to go out. Kyle’s wearing his kilt, which I think is super hot. And, of course, he’s naked underneath. Scotsmen don’t wear anything under their kilts. That’s why the Scottish lassies love a windy day.

Barbie’s not into it. “Kyle, that’s not hot,” she says. Girl, did you never watch Outlander?! Come ON!

“I love you so much,” she adds. “But I like this part of you,” indicating his waistband up.

“What’s wrong with that?” he asks, gesturing toward his lower half.

She admits in a confessional that she’s “nervous about the kilt.” He’s not wearing anything underneath, and he likes to show his “situation.”

“I actually love that she hates it,” Kyle laughs. “I can just wind her up now with it.”

They’re off for an evening of bowling. Kyle finishes with a spare, and Ben says, “Stillie, get your willy out!” And he flashes both front and back, much to Barbie’s embarrassment.

“Sorry, not sorry,” Kyle says.

“Stop doing that,” Barbie tells him.

“Deal with it,” Kyle responds.

Barbie worries about how her family will respond. Did you know Barbie was raised in Argentina and her family’s really conservative? Enough already, Barbie. Live your life and don’t worry so much about your dad.

Finally, Kyle admits he doesn’t want to make Barbie feel uncomfortable, and he agrees not to flash anyone again.

Barbie’s developed feelings for him. She’s not sure what the future holds. But he’s not Jewish, and he can’t provide the kind of life that she wants. She doesn’t think her family will accept him.

Below Deck , Season 11 continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Below deck season 12 crew spotted filming again as fan photo causes massive confusion (spoilers), below deck's ben willoughby is furious as he makes major accusation against captain kerry.

  • Fans spotted a funny editing fail in the latest episode of Below Deck season 11, revealing a "Reserved Courtyard, Film Crew + Cast Only" sign.
  • Editing plays a huge role in shaping the crew's reputation on Below Deck, as seen in Chief Stew Fraser's negative portrayal.
  • Fans likely understand the challenges of editing Below Deck with huge amounts of footage.

Viewers of Below Deck season 11 recently discovered a cool filming detail. The latest edition of the popular yachting show has been full of chaotic drama , featuring numerous rivalries and unexpected departures. When Below Deck season 11 began, fans saw Stew Barbie Pascual feuding with fellow Stew Cat Baugh. They also witnessed former Bosun Jared Woodin coping with too many family problems that led to his departure. Most recently, Chief Stew Fraser Olender called out Chef Nick Tatlock's culinary skills. Fraser's complaining attitude kept coming across as annoying .

Below Deck season 11, episode 14, featured the crew partying in a courtyard. It seemed like a normal scene, but a Reddit user noticed a little filming detail that the editors didn't cut out.

One of the scenes in the most recent episode of Below Deck season 11 showed Deckhand Dylan Pierre De Villiers and his lead, Marie "Sunny" Marquis, walking together. But Reddit user @Ok_Bear375 noticed something that seemed out of place.

The shot featured the courtyard background alongside a blackboard that said, "Reserved Courtyard, Film Crew + Cast Only." The board only appeared for a brief moment. However, some fans noticed it, and one of them posted a screenshot of it on Reddit.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Below Deck Fans React To Major Onscreen Editing Fail

The editors of below deck rarely make editing mistakes.

While the OP found the board funny, other fans pointed out it was probably an editing fail . Redditor @VotingRightsLawyer commented, "It's honestly surprising stuff like this doesn't slip past them more often," praising the editing crew for their work. Another Redditor, @mostlygroovy , wrote, "This show is losing me," showing disappointment that everything feels so staged in Below Deck season 11. Someone even pointed out a good reason why the crew reserved a filming location. Redditor @glassbath18 said, "They used to go out normally and mingle with everyone at the bar. It led to some messy situations."

Below Deck 's editing has always been a point of discussion. Chief Stew Fraser seemed like a decent guy who could handle his job in the last season. However, Below Deck season 11's editing shows him in a completely different light, making him look like a villain in every instance. Some of Fraser's worst moments showed him feuding with his junior, Barbie, for no particular reason. He also defended Cat's poor performance, which may have caused a big blunder if she hadn't left the show. While Bravo doesn't script Below Deck , editing plays a big role in making or breaking the crew's reputation .

Fans are right about Below Deck 's latest edit fail and understand why such a slip happened. They know that editing isn't easy, especially considering the sheer volume of footage.

Below Deck typically aired around 20 episodes per season, which add up to 900 minutes of footage. However, the total length of a season is nothing compared to how much content the camera crew usually films. Previously, Screen Rant covered Captain Lee's comments from 2022, where he revealed that the crew shot 45,000 hours of film . Talented editors later turned that footage into an entertaining Below Deck season.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

Below Deck renewed for Season 12: What about Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

Aesha Scott and Daisy Kelliher confessionals

Below Deck Season 12 has been confirmed, but there are still so many questions regarding the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under.

Last week, Bravo announced that several shows have been green-lit for another season, with Below Deck Season 12 at the top of the list.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Kerry Titheradge and a couple of Season 11 crew members will be back for another season of the OG show.

While the return of Below Deck is undoubtedly great news, fans are worried about the lack of renewals for Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

So, should Below Deck fans be concerned about the future of the Below Deck spin-offs?

Let’s take a look at what we know.

Why were Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht not renewed by Bravo?

There’s a very good reason why the two Below Deck spin-offs were not renewed right now. Neither of their already-ordered seasons have aired yet, so Bravo isn’t in a rush to get a new season in the can.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 and Below Deck Down Under Season 3 have been filmed and will eventually air on Bravo.

Last month, Bravo revealed that Below Deck Med Season 9 will premiere after Below Deck Season 11 wraps, rather than Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 , as fans had hoped.

The schedule change and the lack of news about Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht have fans in a frenzy. But there’s no reason to fear the two Below Deck spin-offs are done for good.

After all, Below Deck Med wasn’t renewed for Season 10, and we all know the Captain Sandy Yawn spin-off isn’t going anywhere before the milestone season.

It means we must wait until the already-filmed seasons air before getting news on future ones. Honestly, at this point, we would be happy with info on the seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under that have been filmed.

Who Is Captain Lee? Everything to Know About the Deadly Waters Host

Below Deck 's Lee Rosbach is entering new waters as the host of a new  Oxygen  true crime series.

below deck sailing yacht drugs episode

The man, the myth, the legend: Bravo ’s Captain Lee is navigating the depths of true crime in Oxygen ’s upcoming series, Deadly Waters with Captain Lee.

How to Watch

Watch  Deadly Waters with Captain Lee  on Oxygen Saturday, June 1 at 9/8c and next day on Peacock.

" Below Deck ’s beloved Capt. Lee Rosbach is an expert on demanding mega-yacht passengers and a rowdy, mischievous crew. But now he’s steering his ship toward a completely different group of people: criminals, who have committed some of the most chilling murders to have ever taken place on the water. From dream vacations gone wrong, to alleged pirates of the Caribbean and everything in between, these true crime stories are unlike any that take place on land," reads a press release about the show, which premieres on Saturday, June 1 at 9/8c on Oxygen.

Here's what to know about the show's famous captain.

Who is Captain Lee?

Captain Lee Rosbach is the seasoned sea captain at the helm of the Bravo series Below Deck since its 2013 premiere until Season 11.

Since the show and all its spinoffs debuted — which include Below Deck Mediterranean , Below Deck Sailing Yacht , and Below Deck Down Under — Captain Lee has taken a no-nonsense approach to the world of yachting as Bravo’s original captain.

The “Stud of the Sea,” as he's been nicknamed, found his sea legs later in life than many assume, however. Per his Bravo bio, the Saginaw, Michigan-based Lee never even saw the ocean until his 30s when he and his wife, Mary Anne Rosbach , moved to Turks & Caicos to open a restaurant.

“In need of cash, he responded to an ad seeking a mate for a delivery on a sailboat — no experience necessary,” the bio states. “At 35, Lee obtained his captain’s license and left the restaurant behind to pursue his newfound passion.”

The one-time Wendy’s manager has since spent more than three decades operating mega-yachts around the globe.

In 2022, Captain Lee, now 74, announced his departure from Below Deck, citing a nerve issue that affected his ability to walk months into his back surgery recovery, he said in the Season 10 finale.

Captain Lee on Deadly Waters with Captain Lee

Still, Captain Lee shows no sign of slowing down. He and Below Deck Chief Stew Kate Chastain hosted  Couch Talk with Captain Lee and Kate — now available to stream on Peacock — giving audiences their thoughts on shows across the Bravosphere. Now, he's moving onto Oxygen's  Deadly Waters with Captain Lee.

Captain Lee’s books

In 2018, Captain Lee published his memoir Running Against the Tide: Tales from the Stud of the Sea , and by the sounds of Simon & Schuster’s description, Captain Lee is no stranger to troubled waters.

“From having to reclaim his drunk captain’s papers in the Dominican Republic to unwittingly crewing a drug boat out of Turks and Caicos, to navigating the outrageous demands of the super-rich in New York City, Captain Lee’s tales from the high seas run the gamut, proving time and time again why he’s a fan favorite,” according to the blurb.

Fans can get more of Captain Lee on  his website , including tropical-themed hoodies, deck shorts, T-shirts, and more. According to his Instagram page , he’s also an ambassador for Can-Am On-Road three-wheeled motorcycles.

Captain Lee Rosbach attends the red carpet at bravocon 2023

As if any of that wasn’t enough, Lee hosts the Salty with Captain Lee podcast with Sam DeCavalcanti to discuss “pop culture and reality T.V. gossip.” No life jacket required!

Captain Lee’s advocacy based on personal tragedy

Captain Lee and Mary Anne suffered an  unthinkable tragedy in July 2019 when Lee found their 42-year-old son, Joshua Lee Rosbach , dead in his Fort Lauderdale, Florida, home . It was determined their son had died of an accidental drug overdose.

“After a 20-year struggle, he finally succumbed to the demons he fought so long and so hard,” Captain Lee said at the time. “Addiction is an insidious disease that knows no social status or geographic boundaries. Whether you live in a 10,000-square-foot mansion or a double-wide trailer, the path of death, destruction, and devastation it leaves remains the same.”

Ever since, Captain Lee has made it his life’s mission to combat addiction and its stigma . In 2019, he participated in the 14th Annual Sallarulo’s Race for Champions in Fort Lauderdale to raise money for the Special Olympics Florida in his son’s memory.

In 2021, Captain Lee sat for Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and revealed plans to open an addiction facility on the sea. The rehabilitation center would be on a 470-foot barge and could hold as many as 200 guests at a time.

“We’re also converting it into a vocational center so that not only do we try to get them clean, but we try to get them back into the mainstream of the community with an ability to make a living,” said the captain. “Usually, when they get out … they’ve burned all their bridges when it comes to employment because of drug use, and they have nothing to fall back on. So, you can’t really just kick them back out into society and say, ‘OK, you’re on your own.’ So, we want to give them something viable that they can count on and then go out there and become productive members.”

Just before appearing on WWHL, Lee went before Congress in Washington, D.C., urging lawmakers to do more about the ongoing and “ tremendously misunderstood ” opioid overdose epidemic.

Who is Captain Lee's wife?

Captain Lee and his wife, Mary Anne Rosbach, married nearly a half century ago and raised five children together.

Mary Anne made her first appearance on Below Deck in Season 5, and though she’s not as active in the spotlight as Lee, she shows up frequently on the captain’s Instagram page.

The husband and wife had a less-than-ideal 48th anniversary out to sea, but Lee was sure to remark, “Damn, I love this woman.” For their 47th anniversary, Lee posted a side-by-side photo of him and his bride in a sepia-toned photo at the Justice of the Peace.

Don't miss the latest in true crime: Army Vet Fatally Shot Man His Girlfriend Had Told Him Molested Her: "I Pulled the Trigger 7 or 8 Times" Paul John Knowles, Who Was "More Vicious" than Ted Bundy, Terrorized the South in the ‘70s Ace Poker Player Beaten to Death, Dumped in Las Vegas Hotel Stairwell By Gambler with Debts

In 2017, Lee said on WWHL that distance seemed to keep them strong.

“Actually, I think that is one of the keys to our relationship being successful is that fact that we spend extended periods away from each other,” said Lee. “And the old adage, ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder,’ is true.”

As for their children, the captain admitted that he even (partly) inspired his son, Sean , to get into the industry as a superyacht chef, he told The Daily Dis h in 2016.

Not only do Lee and Mary Anne share grandchildren, but they also became great-grandparents in 2021 with the birth of Amelia Charlotte .

When will Deadly Waters air?

Catch up with him on  Deadly Waters with Captain Lee,  premiering Saturday, June 1 at 9/8c on Oxygen.

Below Deck Season 9 spoilers tease an anchor disaster, a crew firing, Captain Sandy's warning, and more

Below Deck Med Season 9 will be here before we know it and Bravo has given a little tease of what’s coming.

Captain Sandy Yawn and Aesha Scott headline the new season of Below Deck Med, premiering after Below Deck Season 11 wraps.

We know Below Deck Med was just on, with Season 8 ending in January.

However, Bravo has pushed back Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, so it’s full steam ahead with Below Deck Season 9.

Honestly, the trailer doesn’t look too bad and the return of Aesha has us excited for the show.

In an attempt to get Below Deck Med fans pumped for Season 9 Bravo has dropped another teaser and it’s good.

Below Deck Med Season 9 spoilers tease so much chaos and an upset Captain Sandy Yawn

The new preview video reveals the deck team clearly has a lot of struggles. Bosun Iain Maclean deals with the pressure by barking orders at his team. Ian goes into full micromanaging mode, which doesn’t sit well with Deckhand Nathan Gallager.

A flip of the scene shows a docking that really doesn’t go well for the deck crew. Captain Sandy has no patience for Ian, leading Nathan to make a witty remark to Deckhand Joe Bradley.

Later, an anchor mishap leads to chaos, hinting disaster looms, and no doubt someone will get a plane ticket home.

The interior doesn’t fare any better than the deck team. Stew Bri Muller goes off on Elena Dubaich, making it clear trouble is brewing between the two women.

Aesha can be seen in tears, and we wonder what interior team drama has her so upset. After Captain Sandy warns that two people could be fired, we learn a new stew arrives, indicating either Bri or Elena won’t last the whole season.

The preview brought a lot of opinions from Below Deck Med fans.

Below Deck Med Season 9 teaser earns mixed reviews

The comments section of the @belowdeckbravo Instagram Post featuring the Below Deck Med preview was flooded with remarks on the footage.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shephard popped in to express his support for the show writing, “Looks wild.”

Other comments included concern for Aesha crying and some indicating they won’t watch the show because of Captain Sandy.

“My jaw dropped!!! I’ve watched every series bar adventure and I have NEVER seen that happen,” read a remark.

Another called out the lack of diversity on Below Deck Med, while a different one can’t hold back excitement for the upcoming season.

“Oh dang was that them losing the whole entire anchor???,” wrote a different user.

Those are just a few of the comments from Below Deck Med fans as Season 9 of the hit yachting show nears.

In other Below Deck Med news, Captain Sandy Yawn married her girlfriend Leah Shafer this past weekend. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, a few familiar faces were in attendance, including Aesha.

Will you be watching Below Deck Med Season 9?

Below Deck Med Season 9 premieres Monday, June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo. Seasons 1-8 are streaming on Peacock.

About below deck sailing yacht.

Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy.

Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay. In the galley, Chef Ilesha's cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy.

With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
