The name Zancle 757 originates from the millenary history of the city of Messina: in fact, this is the name given to the city in 757 BC. by the Greeks, for the sickle shape of its harbour, one of the safest natural harbours in the world. Almost 3000 years of history, a strong seafaring tradition and a great vocation for shipbuilding make Messina the ideal place to host a reality like Zancle 757 Yacht Village, which today represents the magical union of these components, to which it adds constant research of specific and increasingly rare professionalism, such as the old shipwrights for the restoration of vintage boats or the ancient turners.

Our goal is to offer a “turnkey” service, respect budget and delivery time, with constant attention to the quality and comfort of the crews during the shipyard period.

How to apply for your press accreditation?

Access and fill in the form by clicking on the button at the end of this page. Once submitted, you will receive automatic confirmation that your details have been registered correctly. Once all information has been processed and approved, you will receive then an email confirming your press accreditation. You will be able to collect your accreditation, as well as all the information regarding the fair at the Palma International Boat Show offices from 24th April 2024 (c. Moll Vell, s/n. Palma).

Press accreditation allows you free access to the exhibition area of the show from 25th to 28th April 2024, as well as to the conferences, activities and the press room. You can also apply for accreditation at the press room offices during the Palma International Boat Show. The application form is individual. If a team is travelling to cover the show, each member of the team must complete the form independently. Anyone who enters an e-mail address in the registration form that has already been entered previously to apply for a new accreditation will be automatically rejected by the system.

Harold Dieterle’s newest restaurant brings Mediterranean yacht vibes to the West Village

Il Totano , a new coastal Italian restaurant in the West Village, is exciting for many reasons—a dry-aged seafood program, Capri vibes, and, most importantly, the return of the first-ever Top Chef winner Harold Dieterle (Perilla, Kin Shop, The Marrow) after a long hiatus. 

With Il Totano, Dieterle is leaning into the growing excitement for dry-aged fish citywide, but he’s also fully embracing a childhood passion. He grew up in West Babylon, where he learned to fish from his grandfather, and he’s eager to share that love through his menu.

He’s teamed up with restaurateur Alexandra Shapiro—who also celebrated family nostalgia with the opening of UES’s Hoexters last year—and together they’ve reimagined an old Flex Mussels location (also owned by Shapiro) into the transportive Italian restaurant it is today.

What to eat

Dry-aged fish is undoubtedly one of the biggest draws on the menu—you can see the process in a humidity-controlled chamber as you make your way to the dining room. “Dry aging fish improves its flavor and texture while also increasing shelf-life,” Dieterle says. “The final product also has a wonderfully crisp skin.”

Go for the branzino with Sicilian green beans, so you can get a taste of that crispiness Dieterle is referring to. 

Plus, the menu is full of childhood nods for both Dieterle and Shapiro. The spaghetti with Dungeness crab pays tribute to Dieterle’s crabbing trips with his grandfather off the docks of Babylon. “This is a dish my mom, my grandmother, and all my aunts cooked,” Dieterle says. The chicken marsala, meanwhile, will give you a peek into Shapiro’s early years on the Upper East Side. “My Jewish grandmother used to cook these ridiculous meals for all four grandchildren,” she says. “Whatever we wanted, she would cook, and we loved her chicken marsala.”

What to drink

Dieterle’s roots are in southern Italy, and the wine list similarly spotlights producers from the region in a menu of 60 bottles and 15 wines by the glass curated by sommelier Catherine Hooper.

There are plenty of fun cocktails you should consider, too, like the Bitter Giuseppe with Chaparral liqueur, orange, and grapefruit juice; and The Capri with a mix of rums, amaro, and lemon.

Where to sit

Much like the food, the interiors are transportive, too. Blue-and-white-striped wallpaper is reminiscent of a coastal patio awning and the Art Deco-inspired dark walnut bar feels like it’s straight off a boat. “We were going for a Mediterranean yacht vacation kind of vibe,” Shapiro says.

The bar room is where you’ll want to be for a “see and be seen” kind of vibe, while the main sunken dining room in the back is more chill with its u-shaped booths and mahogany tables that seat groups of two and four. When the weather warms up, head outside to grab one of the four sidewalk tables.

Dieterle hopes more people will opt for bookings later than the most popular 6 pm and 6:30 pm slots, so they can truly experience the full breadth of the restaurant’s ’70s and ’80s rock music program that changes throughout the night. “We hope that people will stay, linger, and eat later,” he says.  

The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm and Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Former SRO returns to Perry Schools as security officer

May 9—Clint Ovalle didn't stay separated from Perry School District for long.

The former district school resource officer resigned his position with the Perry Village Police Department and has returned to Perry Schools as a security officer.

Perry School Board, at a May 6 special meeting, unanimously approved the hiring of Ovalle for the new position.

"Hopefully this is the continuation of a very strong relationship with Officer Ovalle and serving our students and our community," Superintendent Jack Thompson said, at the board meeting.

In February, Perry Village took internal disciplinary action against Ovalle that removed him as a district school resource officer. The village Police Department provides two officers to serve as SROs in a contractual arrangement with Perry Schools.

The change in Ovalle's status stemmed from events that occurred following a November training exercise at Perry Middle School for Lake County K-9 officers and their dogs. In Ovalle's role as a Perry Schools SRO, he was paired with a K-9 — a Lab/setter mix named Captain.

After the training session concluded, Ovalle forgot to retrieve a bag of cocaine used during the drill and return it to proper storage. The bag of drugs eventually was discovered by a janitor while he was cleaning at the school.

Perry Village launched an investigation and conducted disciplinary proceedings involving Ovalle. At the conclusion of this process, he received punishments that included reassignment from the SRO position to road patrol; getting demoted from sergeant to patrolman; being placed on departmental probation; and serving a suspension.

Relieving Ovalle of his SRO duties also took K-9 Captain out of the school district. The district acquired Captain in 2019 and paid for him and Ovalle to receive training that Ohio requires for all law enforcement K-9s and their handlers.

Ovalle began his new role as a school security officer for the district on May 7.

"I am super excited to return and see familiar faces," Ovalle said. "I've known most of these kids the majority of their lives."

Ovalle previously served as a Perry Schools SRO for about 10 years.

"I have made beautiful relationships with the students, staff and parents," he said.

As a Perry Schools security officer, he will be accompanied during his duties by K-9 Captain, who is owned by the district and lives with Ovalle outside of working hours.

Perry Schools will pay Ovalle $34.52 per hour in his new job He will receive an additional $3,500 each year to provide K-9 Captain with "adequate and necessary humane care," according to his contract with the district.

The board resolution approving Ovalle's appointment authorized him to be armed while working as a security officer "within a school safety zone." But the officer's contract states that he "shall not be permitted to carry or utilize handcuffs or sprays,

such as pepper spray."

Perry Village Police Department Officers Malcom Battiato and Michael Zgrebnak will continue to serve as SROs for the district.

Battiato is the newest of the two SROs, after being named as Ovalle's replacement in February.

Police Chief Steve Williams, in a May 7 Facebook post, confirmed that Ovalle resigned his position as a sworn law enforcement officer with Perry Village on May 6.

"Please help us wish (Ovalle) the best of luck in his future endeavors as a school security guard for the Perry School District," Williams said. "He will report any police related matters to the current sworn SROs assigned to the schools and assist them in ensuring the safety of the students, faculty and staff."

He also urged everyone to contact Battiato or Zgrebnak for all of their law enforcement needs "in and about the Perry School District."

Although Ovalle has returned to Perry Schools in a different position, he said his commitment to the district remains as strong as ever.

"I will give the mightiest performance as I have always done," he said. "I've told parents in the past that I would stand in front of the most horrific danger for their kids. And that includes staff and the public. As a former SWAT operator, we run to danger. That doesn't stop with me."

Ovalle's removal as a district SRO about 2 1/2 months ago prompted numerous Facebook comments on the Perry Ohio Community Page. A vast majority of those remarks protested his ouster and said he was being punished excessively.

Many comments also urged that Ovalle be reinstated as an SRO.

Those same sentiments were expressed at a March 14 Perry Village Council meeting. About 15 people in the audience formally addressed the community government's administrators and legislators.

Many of the speakers were parents of current or former Perry Schools students. However, three children who now attend Perry Schools also issued comments.

Council heard multiple times during the 36-minute stretch of comments about how Ovalle always went above and beyond to build trust and foster positive relationships with students.

Commenters also noted how K-9 Captain, as Ovalle's partner, brought delight to many students who interacted with the dog.

Some of the same people who spoke at the March 14 council meeting expressed their happiness in Facebook posts on May 7 after information was shared about Ovalle being appointed as a Perry Schools security officer.
