Jamaica luxury yacht charter

Jamaica is a fantastic superyacht charter destination thanks to its 350 miles of coastline and is an increasingly popular Caribbean destination.

While there are several marinas, only three are recommended as being fully secure – Port Antonio, the Montego Bay Yacht Club and Royal Jamaica Yacht Club.

Anchoring anywhere in Jamaica should be easy thanks to the sea-bottom which is usually turtle grass and sand. The different parts of Jamaica are all beautiful in their own right, with Montego Bay – nicknamed the ‘Hip Strip’ – probably the most well-known thanks to its abundance of luxury resorts.

The other areas shouldn’t be neglected though: Kingston may have a bad reputation for crime but it’s still the home of grand architecture and Jamaica’s government, while Ocho Rios is absolutely stunning thanks to its natural waterfalls, rivers and beaches.

For those not content to relax on the glorious beaches, an abundance of tropical fish, bright coral and warm, clear waters make the scuba diving in Jamaica really excellent. The reefs in Negril Marine Park, the Throne Room and Sharks Reef all come recommended, as do the man-made sunken ship reef in Ocho Rios and the famous Widowmaker’s Cave. The Montego Bay Marine Park was created in 1990 to help protect treasures such as these.

Jamaica hasn’t had a peaceful history, and it wasn’t until the 1834 Emancipation Act, made after several slave revolts, that things began to slowly change. The result of so many colonists and immigrants is an incredibly rich culture and vibrant people, with the language and cuisine a spicy mix of many different ethnicities.

I booked Vaughn's yacht to celebrate my husband's birthday based on previous reviews I had seen on the site and I must say I am very happy that I did. The staff was very professional, kind and friendly. We had an amazing experience and can't wait to do this again. I would definately recommend booking The Aquarius with Vaughn anytime.

Vaughn and his team were awesome from start to finish. The boat was clean and spacious for our group of 19. We had an amazing time dancing, exploring our stop on land, jet skiing, and swimming! Would absolutely recommend and will return on our next trip to Ochie!

This was a great private experience for me and my family. The staff work very hard in making sure you get a full experience. We were able to stop at the beach for great photo's and also we got to enjoy a pleasant boat ride with great staff. The Dj was also great we danced from start to finish. tourist taxi - US dollars

restaurants - it depends. At a nice restaurant the price will be listed in US dollars. At a place like Burger King (think Wimpy Bar) the price will be listed in Jamaican dollars.

bars - the prices will normally be quoted in US dollars at bars used by tourists.

supermarkets - Jamaican dollars

When I leave my resort I always take both Jamaican and US dollars with me.
