The Dana 24 is conceived for cruising and designed for performance. She is built to the standards of excellence that have always set Pacific Seacraft yachts apart. Quality is evident in every detail, from carefully fitted teak joinery to husky bronze fittings and impeccable mechanical installations. Crealock is well-known for cruising boats with exceptional performance, and Dana is the culmination of all he has learned. Sophisticated hull design, high ballast ratio and efficient sail plan provide stability and power for the kind of windward performance that is so often lacking in other pocket cruisers. Her beautifully traditional hull encloses an extraordinarily spacious and functional interior that is innovative and inviting. Her 6-foot 1-inch headroom, fully enclosed head, honeymoon berth and congenial main salon are but a few of her charms. A long list of standard features includes two-cylinder diesel power, winches, sails and full galley.

Pacific Seacraft Dana 24 Specifications - Standard Features Construction - Hand laminated hull and deck with molded-in gelcoat color. First laminate uses vinylester resin for superior blister resistance. Standard color is Antique White. Contrasting boot & sheer stripes. - Bottom paint including solvent wash, three coats epoxy barrier coat and two coats of anti-fouling bottom paint. - Deck is balsa cored. Plywood is substituted in high load areas. - Deck has molded-in nonskid pattern. - Deck to hull connection: mating hull and deck flanges bedded in polyurethane adhesive and fastened with stainless steel thru-bolts. - Ballast is 3,200 pound (1.45 mt.) solid lead casting. - Interior: structural fiberglass, plywood and gel coat interior unit bonded into hull with fiberglass mat and woven roving. - Stainless steel chainplates and backup plates caulked both sides and thru-bolted to hull. - Solid teak rubstrake. Built on a deep V hull design with reliable Volvo power, and updated Raymarine electronics. This vessel comes equipped with everything needed to meet your boating demands and is ready to set course today.

Only 242 hours on the Volvo fresh water cooled 5.7L GX engine with 280hp and a Volvo SX Duo prop. Manifolds / risers done (2017) – new batteries (2017). Off the stern is a (2017) long shaft Yamaha 9.9 Four stroke kicker with power trim and electric tilt.

120g of fuel offers a range not normally seen in a 24 foot boat. Allowing you to reach the exclusive anchorages such as Princess Louisa Inlet and Desolation sound.

Inside and outside helms with Raymarine C80 radar / plotter and a Raymarine Dragonfly plotter/ fishfinder. The outside helm has controls for both engines and hydraulic steering. You are not far from the fish or rods while at the helm.

There is a large hard top with room for storage of kayaks, a tender, and gear. The cabin has a nice sized V berth, a convertible port side dinette, and an enclosed head with a shower and new Jabsco manual pump toilet and macerator. Hot water, Princess butane burner.

She is a sight for the eyes with great lines and shows as hardly used. There are no marks on the gel coat- and is dry stored at Lions Bay Marina.

Having been used mostly as a commuter from West Van to Gambier Island there is a lot of good times yet to be had on this Explorer.

SAILING EXPERIENCE

The First 24 SE is a true pocket rocket, defined by the design team's racing background. An incredible sail area to displacement ratio ensures fast sailing in both strong and light wind conditions. Downwind planing in stronger breezes is a blast and a pure joy because of the stable hull, and the deep, ballasted keel and twin rudders, which give you complete control.  The First 24 SE is enjoyable in lighter conditions too, as she reacts to the slightest wind gusts and can easily match wind-speeds. Spacious, open and carefully thought-out cockpit ergonomics work in solo, double-handed or fully-crewed setups and guarantee easy handling and comfortable sailing, no matter if you're on a relaxed afternoon sail or racing in one-design regattas.

LIVING ONBOARD

The First 24 SE interior is minimalistic and very weight-sensitive, but in addition to her performance, she still provides all key amenities you can expect on a modern 24ft high-performance racer. The large open-space salon can easily sleep up to 4 adults, two on the V-berth and two on the extendable side beds. Her removable crew bags house personal belongings, and can be stored under the benches. Her indoor/outdoor table can be used in the salon or cockpit, and there is even a dedicated place for a chemical toilet. For technical storage, there is a large-volume capacity under the cockpit area, accessible from the exterior. All interior components function as parts of the boat structure. Furthermore, the First 24 SE is highly modular, so one can easily reduce additional weight for racing.

CAROL is in many ways my favorite pocket cruiser— a scaled-down and flatter-deadrise version of my popular  FRANCES .  She evokes an adventurous spirit that prevailed in the happy times of the late ‘70s when I designed her. At 24 feet she’s as small as a prudent sailor would ever think of taking to sea. CAROL is the ultimate in making do with less. Her hull is stable and easily driven, and her rig is simple and powerful. She can sail close to her hull speed of six knots when conditions are favorable, making for good sailing in moderate conditions.  While no boat of this size can truthfully be termed comfortable in the open ocean, CAROL ‘s crew are at least free of great concern for her safety, or their own. With her small self draining cockpit well, raised deck, centerline hatches and strong self-righting tendency she is as seaworthy as the proverbial corked bottle. Her clear decks make it easy to handle her gear, and the recessed deck forward offers the crew security where it is needed most.

I designed CAROL in 1979 and something like twenty have been built so far all over the world. Thanks to her beautifully crafted building plans, anyone willing to work hard and with good carpentry skills can aspire to sailing over the horizon in something of high intrinsic value that they built themselves. With her very high quality of specified construction and perfected double-ender aesthetics she is a true legacy yacht, whose appeal will endure for generations. She’s neither easy nor cheap to build, though— fair warning.

The interior arrangement is intended for two persons. They may share the double berth forward in harbor, or the off-watch partner can choose the leeward quarter berth when at sea. There is just the minimum sitting headroom in this design― indeed this was the pivotal factor that determined the overall size of this minimalist yacht. The design provides a place for the cook to sit, and a toilet to avoid having to go on deck for this necessity. A sea hood fitted over the companionway provides a place to stand up for pulling on one’s pants, at least when the weather permits you to open the hatch.

CAROL as originally designed had no auxiliary power, a pair of oars being shown for getting her home in a calm or maneuvering through a quiet anchorage. Quite a few have been fitted with small diesels, though, an idea that can be life-saving in difficult conditions and a lot easier than rowing when the wind fails.

CAROL is narrow enough to trailer legally over the road in the USA, though at her weight she requires a lift or railway to haul and launch and a crane to step her mast. She was engineered to be built in WEST system cold-molded construction. She was designed in the hippie years, with many young people seeing the wonders of the world living in a tent. Quite a few more, who thought it fun, bought books on WEST system construction and saw the wonders of the sea living in a CAROL. You could too!

Note the varnished seatbacks, which make the cockpit very comfortable.

Many variations have been built. JUNO LUCINA hails from the UK, and has been fitted with a small trunk cabin.

Bee fits very nicely into the cabin of her eponymously named yacht.

We recently had a new 5.0 MPI engine professionally installed with a full warranty and also had the Alpha One outdrive overhauled. The warranty is transferable! Two brand new batteries (under warranty), new horn, new fuel sending unit, new fuel pump with cooler, and all of the fluids for the power trim and trim tabs serviced. Also installed a brand new bilge pump and switch. All Zincs on the boat are brand new too. There are only 160 total hours on the boat and only 35 hours on the new power package. One person can launch, drive, and operate this boat with no problems, and is super easy maneuver. This boat easily seats 7 people and is great for an entire day or even weekend on the water. It has an 8 gallon fresh water tank with pressurized water sink in the galley that will reach all the way to the front cockpit and a shower on the swim step. The swim platform is huge and includes a concealed folding ladder, the fresh water shower, and ski tow eye. The cooler in the pictures does not come with the boat, but is there show you how we mount ours. Driver and passenger seats include flip up bolsters and large under seat storage. Rear seats are bench style and are easily removable to make room for gear, walking space, or in our case fishing. We had two heavy duty rod holders installed as well. Tons of storage under the seats in the cuddy cabin and under the sink. Has a good size toilet (head), it works fine and was only tested with water (no one pees on the boat). Inside has the nice Clarion CD sound system with remote cockpit controls. Sink also has a ice holder that drains next to it. The original table is under the bed and has the pole. The cabin is large with a couch,dining table that also folds down and can be usef as a sleeping area...theres a kitchen area that has a sink microwave and stove with plenty of storage places...and theres a toilet with a shower head..The toilet is clogged up at the moment..Theres a sliding glass window that you enter to get into the cabin..Theres a big V BIRTH for sleeping as well..Theres 2 decks ..one on bottom and on top that has chairs for relaxation..Theres also. Water cooler and small barbeque up top..The top bimini needs fixing...Theres also a small built in refridgerator in the cabin but its not working..i think its a fuze issue.. Theres a microwave that is working...This boat has 2 V8 ENGINES AND A Generator and a Battery charger and. It has ship and shore power..Hooked up to shore power now while its in the slip... The Original Manual to the boat..The manual is quite big and very detailed with diagrams and descriptions of every detail every inch of this boat...The running lights work. The engines work. Also this boat has two gas tanks and outside rope lights that run along the side of the boat..Also this boat has cable connection. This boat is a 1979 so it does have a few issues, it has marine radio not working. And there is connections for fish/ depth finder but there is none. There is air condition but when the aft air condition switch is turned on to run it trips the breaker swith every time...but when just left to the fan position its fine. The water does flow out on the side as it should but for some reason when i turn the air condition to the run position, it trips the breaker swith. This boat looks newer then a 79,,,The outside of the boat looks nice with big windowd and a spot light and a elec anchor and it needs a battery for the anchor and the spot light too. The boat is currently in a boat slip..I payed already for july plus i payed for last months rent.. SORRY!
