Powered by twin diesel MTU (10V 2000 M93) 1,502hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 18 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 25 knots. Her water tanks store around 2,000 Litres of fresh water.

Delivered to her owner in 2018, luxury yacht NICOSTASIA measures 26m/85ft and features a raked bow, a metallic grey hull and a white superstructure. Designed by Guido de Groot and with naval architecture from Ginton Naval Architects, she is stylish modern superyacht from internationally recognised names. Her whitewashed English oak interiors accommodate up to eight guests over four spacious cabins.

The main deck aft provides a large space in which guests can rest outside and enjoy the views over drinks at any time of the day. Above, the flybridge has room to the aft for a tender, and the mid-section will have U-shaped seating and a cocktail bar, with room forward and aft for sun loungers.

The main salon is decorated with oak panelling and beautiful furnishing for crisp and neutral-tone appearance. The L-shaped sofa is by the port windows, ideal for relaxation.

NICOSTASIA Specifications

All accommodation is placed on the lower deck and includes a full-beam Master suite, two double cabins and a bunk cabin. With all the accommodation placed on one deck, there is plenty of room on the main deck for a spacious salon and formal dining area.

Twin 1,502 HP MTU 10V 2000 M93 engines allow motor yacht NICOSTASIA to reach a top speed of 25 knots.

Nicostasia // Van der Valk

Nicostasia is the fourth unit of the raised-pilothouse yachts by van der valk , built for a repeat client..

The raised-pilothouse have an exterior design by Guido de Groot. NICOSTASIA features also the interior design by Guido de Groot . The 26m full-aluminum motor yacht has a top speed of 25 knots, powered by two MTU 10V 2000 M93 with a power of 1502 HP each. The cruising speed is 18 knots.

The sundeck is equipped with a second helm station, sun lounge, C-shaped seating with tables and a kitchenette with fridges, wine cabinet, and teppanyaki. Moreover, the aft area is the home for a 4.45m RIB and a jet ski.

The full-beam master suite is located on the lower deck while the crew mess, a part of the crew cabins and the galley/utility room is on the main deck forward. So, the crew has a direct access to the main helm station. Alongside the master suite, on the lower deck can be found a full-beam VIP suite, a double guest cabin and guest cabin with Pullman beds.

Guido de Groot comments:

“Normally, of course, the saloon contains the dining space while the galley is located elsewhere in the boat But this family loves to socialize with guests while cooking, so they requested this one-of-a-kind feature. 

They also wanted to have as much natural light as possible in that area. The design allows as much sunlight as possible to reach this space from the oversized windows in the wheelhouse above by making the ceiling in the galley area spectacularly high. Another ingenious element is the extractor hood above the stove that doubles as a lighting fixture. Each of these components was quite complex to implement given that the passage between the sunbathing areas on the flybridge above is directly above the cooking island and the extractors. Only an expert yard like Van der Valk could have accomplished this so well.”

Van der Valk delivers 26-metre Nicostasia

Bespoke family-based design for experienced owners Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has delivered the fourth yacht in its renowned Raised Pilothouse semi-custom range. The 26-metre Nicostasia was built for owners who had already enjoyed the experience of owning a Van der Valk motoryacht and now wanted to go larger and all-new. Featuring exterior and interior design from Guido de Groot and the highest standard of Dutch construction and engineering, Nicostasia is an impressive addition to the growing Van der Valk fleet.

The cooperation and coordination between the yard and the owners’ representatives during the design and construction of Nicostasia was seamless. As Van der Valk has ample experience with owners from their country, they were able to conduct all communications in their native language.

Stylish yet sturdy The overall design brief for Nicostasia was to create a cool-looking, smart-working family boat, thoroughly adapted to the clients’ wishes. The interior and exterior were both designed in partnership with Guido de Groot. Overall, the interior is typified by bright colours, with whitewashed oak as the principal material – the family had seen this colour scheme on several other Van der Valks and opted to reproduce the palette in an even lighter version. “The interior is quite elegant and minimalistic, yet clearly very functional and robust,” says Guido de Groot. “Nicostasia is a real family boat – the owners are delighted with her and spend lots of time on board.”

The lower deck hosts the main accommodations: the owner’s suite, which takes up the full 6.25-metre beam, two guest cabins, one to starboard and one to port, and a VIP cabin forward. All accommodations include ensuite bathrooms, with the owner’s suite being especially large and also featuring a walk-in wardrobe. The guest cabins are designed specifically for the children in the family, including in terms of décor choices, underlining the fact that Nicostasia is more a family boat than a typical yacht which is intended for charter.

Ingenious elements The pièce de résistance of bespoke design on Nicostasia is the compact but state-of-the-art open galley integrated in the saloon. “Normally, of course, the saloon contains the dining space while the galley is located elsewhere in the boat,” says Guido de Groot. “But this family loves to socialise with guests while cooking, so they requested this one-of-a-kind feature.

“They also wanted to have as much natural light as possible in that area. The design allows as much sunlight as possible to reach this space from the oversized windows in the wheelhouse above by making the ceiling in the galley area spectacularly high. Another ingenious element is the extractor hood above the stove that doubles as a lighting fixture. Timeless and practical Nicostasia is Van der Valk’s fourth Raised Pilothouse, and while the boats in the series are characterised by tried-and-true exterior lines, there are a wide range of choices in terms of layout and interior architecture options.

“This has a lot to do with the optimised interior space of this particular “Raised Pilothouse” superstructure shape,” explains Yoeri Bijker, Marketing manager at Van der Valk Shipyard. “Some clients place the crew area on the main deck, while others prefer to have an on deck owners’ cabin there instead. The Raised Pilothouse concept offers a great deal of flexibility and its classic flare generates a very elegant appearance. It also gives the vessel a timeless look, ideal for owners who are less enthusiastic about today’s typical straight bows without a lot of flare.”

Fine facilities Nicostasia’s layout includes a graceful elevated wheelhouse position and a wide-open main deck area forward. The flybridge deck boasts an outdoor helm station as well as sun loungers, a wet bar with fridge, wine cabinet and ice maker to port, and a U-shaped lounge dinette settee to starboard. This is also where the 4.45-metre tender and the waverunner are located.

The yacht also has some unique exterior components: for instance, the main deck and the pilothouse are connected with chic floating steel stairs in polished stainless steel which combine with the split-level wheelhouse arrangement to provide a natural flow. She is also characterised by an unusual and lovely grey metallic hull colour, with stylish dark blackout areas and striping.

From east to west Nicostasia has a conventional shaft propulsion system, with twin MTU 10V 2000 M93 engines of 1502 hp each which provide a maximum speed of some 25 knots. She is equipped with a 30kW Electric 96V DC 3 phase bow- and stern thruster, and two 26kW Northern Lights PX332K2 auxiliary engines (generators). An electric Seakeeper 26 gyroscopic stabilising system optimises comfort for passengers and crew.

Currently berthed in Montenegro, Nicostasia will cruise the Adriatic Sea for the time being – possibly from a permanent base in Croatia. Eventually her owners will criss-cross the Mediterranean in a superyacht built entirely to their specifications.

Van Der Valk Continental delivers 26m motor yacht Nicostasia

Dutch yard Van Der Valk has delivered the fourth model in its Continental Three series, the 26 metre motor yacht Nicostasia .

The aluminium yacht was styled inside and out by Guido De Groot and features naval architecture by Ginton .

Yoeri Bijker from Van Der Valk said while the yacht was in build: “We are working very closely with the owners to ensure that everything on board reflects their particular preferences. No expense is being spared as we develop a contemporary interior of whitewashed English oak, classic highlights and unique features.”

He added that the large windows on this raised pilothouse model will make for an exceptionally bright interior with clean, straight lines to frame the open spaces.

En-suite accommodation for all eight guests is situated below decks with an owner’s cabin spreading across the entire 6.2 metre beam. Three guest cabins — two doubles and one with bunk beds — complete the layout of this area.

Meanwhile, the spacious superyacht sundeck on the new Van Der Valk Continental Three features an outdoor helm station, sunloungers, U-shaped seating, cocktail bar and storage space for a 4.2 metre tender. Other premium features on board include automated sliding doors and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

Power comes from a pair of 1,502hp MTU 10V 2000 M93 engines for a top speed of 25 knots, while a Seakeeper 26 gyroscopic stabiliser system ensures a smooth cruising experience.

Other projects recently launched by the Dutch yard include the 27 metre Anemeli and the 26 metre Forum , both of which were launched in 2017.

Van der Valk Delivers 4th Semi-Custom Raised Pilothouse

Van der Valk has delivered its fourth semicustom raised pilothouse yacht, an 85-footer christened Nicostasia .

Interior and exterior design are by Guido de Groot, with whitewashed oak as the primary indoor material.

Nicostasia is built for family use, with all the staterooms belowdecks. The master is full-beam, a VIP stateroom is forward and two guest staterooms — designed for children — are on either side of the companionway.

Other owners have worked with Van der Valk to space out the accommodations differently, Yoeri Bijker, marketing manager, stated in a press release.

“Some clients place the crew area on the main deck, while others prefer to have an on-deck owners’ cabin there instead,” he said. “The raised pilothouse concept offers a great deal of flexibility.”

Why did the owners choose a bright color scheme for the interior? They saw it on other Van der Valk builds and adapted it to their own tastes.

Van der Valk delivers 26m M/Y Nicostasia

Dutch yard Van der Valk has delivered the 26m Nicostasia yacht.

She is the fourth hull in the semi-custom Raised Pilothouse series.

The new vessel features interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot, while the naval architecture is the work of Ginton Naval Architects.

The 26m yacht has been delivered to her new owners, who are experienced yachtsmen and features family-oriented design and an open galley. The owners also requested that natural light should flood the interior. The main saloon features large windows and a light color scheme.

Nicostasia can accommodate eight guests in four double cabins, including the full-beam owner's suite.

The yacht also features a raised pilothouse and an open deck area forward where guests can enjoy the sun.

The vessel uses an aluminum fast displacement hull and can reach a top speed of 25 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. Power is provided by two MTU 10V 2000M93 diesel engines.
