How To Plan the Perfect Yacht Birthday Party

Celebrate your most stylish birthday yet with an unforgettable yacht birthday party. read our tips on how to plan for hosting a birthday party on a yacht.

Whether your ideal celebration includes a large group of friends, a family gathering, or a romantic day with your partner, a yacht birthday party ensures the day goes down as one of the best birthdays in history.

Boataffair can help you throw the perfect yacht birthday party - from the planning to the location - and will make sure your special day goes off without a hitch.

Can you rent a yacht for a birthday party?

You can rent a yacht for a birthday party. The combination of sumptuous luxury and a unique setting make for an unforgettable party experience! Boataffair offer half or full-day charters on a fleet of luxury superyachts in worldwide hotspots like the Greek Islands, party-hardy Miami, sun-soaked Marbella, and sophisticated Dubai.

Yacht birthday parties range from sophisticated to wild, and the tone of the party is entirely up to you. For example, if you're celebrating a 20-something’s big day, then champagne, birthday cake, music and water toys will be central to the celebrations. However if you’re looking for a more refined experience, perhaps for a 60th birthday party, then a gourmet meal experience aboard a superyacht could be just the ticket.

Choose from vessels like the Sunseeker 90 for a larger group. For a medium sized gathering, the spacious Azimut 43 Fly Motor Yacht  is highly recommended. And what can beat the opulent Ferretti 92 Motor Yacht if you’re really looking to impress your guests.

How do you host a birthday party on a yacht?

There are many elements to consider if you are planning to host a birthday party on a yacht. Below is a list of things to consider when you’re playing host for someone else’s big day, or planning your own party:

  • Location Picking the right location for your party is key. What kind of scenery do you prefer? For example beaches, or a cityscape. Are water activities a priority? Is there a particular location that offers things to do beyond the yacht charter (an island to visit, a restaurant to dine in, etc.)?
  • Weather Optimal weather is a factor when considering the location. Weather varies depending on the season, so make sure you check your potential destination to make sure you’re not planning a trip during a stormy season! Or, if a little rain doesn’t bother you, opt for a vessel that has plenty of cabin/covered space for you and your guests.
  • Party Theme Do you want to let loose and throw the party of the year? Or is your event to be more of a sophisticated evening with fine dining? Parties come in many shapes and forms and Boataffair can cater to each end of the spectrum.
  • Food and drink Boataffair can arrange for a chef to cook your party a gourmet meal onboard or organize an evening on land at a 5-star restaurant. Onboard snacks, drinks, and alcohol can also be requested.
  • Planning Service Boataffair caters to whatever the occasion calls for—that can mean anything from balloons, decorations, food/drink, a live DJ, special music, dancing, and much more! We’re happy to accommodate specific requests to make the day extra special!

How many people can fit on a party yacht?

Most of our private yachts are designed to legally carry a maximum of 12 people. This is because a yacht which carries more than 12 people it is considered a 'Passenger ship' and must comply with extensive SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations.

Can you have more than 12 guests on a yacht?

At Boataffair, we do not typically rent out boats for more than 12 people. This is due to Boataffair’s focus on private, premier yachting.

We don't operate as a mass-market service; instead, we reserve our boats for boutique experiences for families, groups of friends, and couples. This is why most of our yachts are limited to 12 people or less.

Additionally, many of our motor yachts are designed to legally carry no more than 12 people, and often overnight stays allow for a maximum of 8-10 people.

You’ll want to keep in mind how many people can fit on a yacht before you start building your guest list. But don't worry, you can have wonderful birthday parties on our yachts with less than 12 people!

Please reach out to us if you have questions about your guest list and we will work with you to find a yacht option that best matches your party style. We do have some options that allow for big groups, but we specialize in and excel with parties of 12 or less as well.

Boataffair offers special occasion charter yachts across the globe and the location of the birthday cruise dictates how the experience plays out. If you have fond memories of a past trip to the Mediterranean, Boataffair offers dreamy day cruises with miles of stunning scenery in Greece, Croatia, Malta. If a party atmosphere is more your speed, book your big day in pulsing party destinations like Miami or Dubai. Looking for a more laid-back experience? Spain and London provide the elegance of a more subtle affair.

Wherever and however you choose to celebrate, make your (or a loved one’s) next birthday one to remember with a charter yacht celebration

There’s something undeniably glamorous about a yacht party. It’s a unique blend of freedom, luxury, and natural beauty, creating an unforgettable experience. However charming and fun as it may sound, planning a yacht party requires meticulous attention to detail. This blog post aims to help you navigate the waves and devise the perfect plan to host a memorable yacht party.

Following this guide, avoid common pitfalls and ensure your yacht party is smooth sailing.

Understanding What a Yacht Party Entails

A yacht party is more than just a gathering at sea. It’s a chance to escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in a unique, luxurious setting. With the ocean as your backdrop and the sky as your ceiling, a yacht party offers unparalleled freedom and exclusivity. Whether it’s a birthday party, corporate event, or simply a gathering of friends, a yacht party can be a perfect setting for a memorable event.

There are many elements involved that differ from planning a regular party. For example , you must consider factors such as marine safety, yacht size and capacity, weather conditions, and, in some cases, maritime laws. Proper planning ensures a memorable experience for your guests and allows you to handle unforeseen circumstances.

The Planning Stage

The initial planning phase is crucial for a successful yacht party. This process involves several critical decisions that can shape your event.

A. Setting the Budget

Just like any event, a yacht party begins with setting a budget. Your budget will dictate the size of the yacht, the type of food and drinks, the decor, and the entertainment. Factors that come into play include the yacht rental cost, catering services, DJ or live music, decorations, and insurance coverage.

Once you have a clear idea of these costs, you can balance your budget, making necessary adjustments to ensure you spend your money wisely. Remember, a memorable yacht party doesn’t necessarily mean an extravagant one; it’s all about meticulous planning and intelligent spending.

B. Choosing the Right Yacht

The yacht is the centerpiece of your party. Factors such as the number of guests, event type, and budget will guide your choice. Do you want a sporty, fast yacht for a small gathering or a large, luxurious one for a bigger crowd?

Yacht rental companies usually have a wide variety of options. Consider involving professionals in your selection process to ensure the yacht meets your needs and complies with safety standards.

C. Setting the Date and Time

Choosing the date and time of your event involves more than just your personal preference. You’ll also need to consider the local weather and sea conditions. The time of day can also affect the atmosphere of your event.

A sunset cruise, for instance, could provide a stunning backdrop for a more romantic or laid-back party. Always have a backup plan in case of unexpected weather changes; your yacht rental company can often guide you on this.

The Invitation Essentials

There are a few “ must haves ” for a party like this including:

An Appealing Guest List

A yacht party is typically an intimate event due to the limited space, so consider who you’d like to invite. Curate a guest list that will create a harmonious and enjoyable atmosphere. A good mix of family, close friends, and colleagues works well.

Deciding on the Appropriate Number of Guests

The number of guests is equally as crucial to your yacht choice. Consider the yacht’s capacity when deciding on your guest list. An overcrowded boat can quickly become uncomfortable and could pose safety risks.

Designing and Sending out Invitations

Once you’ve settled on your guest list, it’s time to send out invitations. As this is a “event”, consider adding a touch of maritime flair to your invitations to build excitement. You can also use the invitation to inform your guests about the dress code, expected weather, and any activities you have planned.

RSVP follow-up process

It’s essential to have a precise count of who will be attending, so make sure you request RSVPs on your invitations and follow up with any guests you have yet to hear from as the date approaches.

Themes and Decorations

Choosing a theme adds a fun element and provides a guide for your decorations, food choices, and even the dress code. A well-chosen piece can tie everything together and make your party more memorable.

Some popular themes include tropical luau , nautical, white party, and old Hollywood glamour. When choosing a theme, consider what fits your style and would appeal to your guests.

Sourcing and Setting Up Decorations

Once you’ve chosen a theme, you can start sourcing decorations. While the yacht is already quite a spectacle, adding thoughtful decor can elevate the ambiance. Consider table decorations, lighting effects, and a focal point such as a decorated archway or photo backdrop. Check with your yacht rental company about any restrictions for setting up decorations.

Food and Drink

Food and drink are at the heart of any party. When planning your menu, consider the duration of the party, the time of day, and your guests’ dietary preferences and restrictions. For a yacht party, it’s typically best to serve dishes that can be enjoyed while mingling, such as finger foods or a buffet.

While hiring a caterer can ease a lot of stress, it might only fit into some budgets. If you decide to take care of the food yourself, plan dishes that can be prepared beforehand to minimize stress on the day of the party.

The Role of a Professional Caterer

A professional caterer can provide expert advice on menu choices, handle all prep work, and maintain food safety. Some caterers even offer serving staff to take care of your guests during the party.

Decide if you will offer an open bar, a cash bar, or a combination. An open bar, while more generous, will increase your costs. A cash bar, where guests pay for their drinks, can help keep your budget under control. Consider a combination approach, such as offering a selection of free drinks and charging for premium beverages.

Entertainment plays a crucial role in setting the tone of the event—options for entertainment range from live music and DJs to interactive games. You could also consider a dance floor if space permits. Creating a playlist of background music for a more relaxed event might be all you need.

If you’re considering hiring a DJ or a live band, consider the space available on the yacht and your guests’ musical preferences. You’ll also need to check with the yacht company regarding any sound restrictions or requirements for power sources.

Games can be a great icebreaker, especially if all your guests don’t know each other. Ensure any games you plan are suitable for the yacht environment and won’t pose any safety risks. You could also consider other interactive activities, like a photo booth with props, or even hiring a magician or other entertainer for some onboard amusement.

Safety Precautions: Be Safe Onboard

While a yacht party is all about fun, it’s vital to recognize safety. Ensure that the yacht is equipped with enough life vests for everyone and that the crew is prepared to handle emergencies. Sharing safety information with your guests before setting sail is also a good idea.

General Safety Guidelines

Some general safety guidelines include not overloading the yacht, avoiding risky behavior like pushing people into the water, and being cautious with alcohol consumption to prevent accidents. If children are present, consider having extra supervision to ensure they stay safe.

Dealing with Seasickness and Other Potential Health Concerns

Even if the weather looks calm, guests may still experience seasickness. It’s a good idea to have seasickness remedies available. Also, if your party lasts for several hours, ensure there’s a space where guests can rest if they’re feeling unwell. Keep a first aid kit handy, and remember to cater to any special dietary needs to prevent allergic reactions or other food-related issues.

A. Critical Dos to Ensure a Memorable Yacht Party

  • Do communicate effectively with your guests about the event details, including the dress code, potential weather conditions, and any other relevant information.
  • Ensure your guests know where the safety equipment is stored and understand the basic safety rules. Do have a backup plan in case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ensure your guests have enough food, drinks, and amenities like clean restrooms and shaded areas.
  • Remember to respect the maritime laws and regulations, and remind your guests to do the same.

B. Crucial Don’ts to Avoid Mishaps and Discomfort

  • Don’t overcrowd the yacht; ensure you’re within the capacity limit for a comfortable and safe event.
  • Don’t ignore the your guests needs and preferences, especially concerning food allergies or dietary restrictions. Their comfort is important.
  • Don’t forget to clean up after the party. Leave the yacht as you found it out of respect for the company and the environment.

Get to Planning!

Planning a yacht party may require significant work and attention to detail, but the result is well worth it. With the sound of the waves as your soundtrack and the open sea as your backdrop, it can be a unique and unforgettable experience. Following these guidelines ensures a smooth and enjoyable time that your guests will remember for years.

So, take the helm and start planning your perfect yacht party!

Remember, a successful event is not just about impeccable planning but also about your ability to adapt and handle unforeseen circumstances gracefully. So keep a positive attitude, embrace any surprises along the way, and remember to enjoy the party too. You’ve earned it!

Happy sailing!

Selecting the right destination

and invite your friends to the Monaco Grand Prix or the Cannes Film Festival.

Want to party with the stars at the Cannes Film Festival? Just ask

Prefer a private desert island-type setting to celebrate with your friends and family? The  Caribbean and  The Bahamas have plenty of secluded bays in which to anchor and spend quality time with your favourite people. Here is a selection of the finest destinations to host your super, superyacht party.

You can always find a beach to call your own

Spring signals the start of the yachting season on the Côte d’Azur, with the Cannes Film Festival opening the show. From May, the Riviera lights up as A-list celebrities descend to see and be seen at arguably the most glamorous film festival in the world. The best parties are, of course, on board the most exclusive superyachts, berthed in the marina right next to the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals.

Magicians or musicians, club singers or cocktail slingers, we can add sparkle to any occasion

Further along the coast, Monaco glitters with seven centuries of regal heritage. The iconic Port d’Hercule is within champagne-popping range of the gilded principality’s world-renowned gourmet restaurants, A-list clubs, and designer boutiques. Sport is also a favourite pastime in Monaco, and the principality hosts several popular events including the Formula 1 Grand Prix in May.

As evening comes, the parties begin

Chartering a superyacht trackside at this event provides not only the best vantage point for you and your guests to watch the action, but also puts you right in the thick of the action where you can literally smell the gasoline and burning tyre rubber from these amazing cars. Burgess has the right contacts to also get you into the pit lane, rubbing shoulders with the drivers before the race, and partying afterwards at the Amber Lounge.

Despite its reputation as the  Balearics ' party-island, Ibiza has more recently evolved to be among the Mediterranean’s most glamorous charter cruising grounds. The vibe throughout the summer season is all about lazy lunches, diving off deck in secret coves, and losing yourself in the rural countryside inland. The White Isle as Ibiza is known, also offers the waterborne visitor an almost unrivalled selection of beach clubs.

There is no cooler way to arrive at Ibiza's fabled beach clubs

Arrive in style by tender and join the glitterati enjoying the sunshine and sunset accompanied by chilled music before heading back on board to celebrate in style. Alternatively, as the sun sets and the vibe picks up a beat or two, head to Ibiza Town’s effortlessly cool hangouts where you can dance until dawn to the world's best DJs.

St Barth is without a doubt the New Year’s Eve capital of the Caribbean. Always a haven for celebrities at any time of year, the island brings in the new year with impromptu New Year’s Eve 'boat hopping' parties and stops at the many beach bars that dot the island. As the clock ticks towards midnight, step up on deck aboard your superyacht for a front row seat to the kaleidoscope of fireworks exploding over Gustavia Harbour.

Ring in the New Year in impeccable style

This French-speaking island is perfect for a lavish New Year’s Eve celebration. Think cocktails on deck, al fresco dinner with friends before cranking up the sound system to celebrate the passing of midnight. Expect relaxed, short-distance cruising as you island-hop through the Leeward Islands in the days following the celebrations. What better way to kick off your year than this?

Harbour Island, Bahamas

The Bahamas offers a variety of activities for parties aboard and ashore. From local restaurants, hanging out with friends at a lively beach bar, or your very own private sunset beach party, whatever you choose to do, the Bahamian culture will facilitate, with festivals, music, dancing and colourful parades continuing into the early hours. 'Fresh up' and enjoy life Bahmian-style.

The Bahamas is a blaze of bold colours and laid-back lifestyles

Harbour Island has recently come into the limelight with the arrival of a handful of chic new places recently opening on the island. With its pink-sand beach and pretty pastel cottages, the shoreline provides a perfect backdrop to sunset cocktails on board, followed by a trip ashore to a party at the legendary Vic-Hum Club. The oldest nightclub on the island, the open-air dancefloor at this humble yet iconic destination has attracted celebrities the world over.

Choosing the right yacht

From the crew to the layout, the facilities and even the décor, there are many facets of a yacht that, when combined, will influence the success of a superyacht party. The most successful charter yachts lend themselves to any type of occasion, be it a cocktail party or formal dinner party.

Some yachts and crews lend themselves to entertainment better than others

No matter what the style of celebration, there is a yacht to suit every taste. Likewise the crew can make or break a celebration, whether because they can theme any party in a creative way, or simply because the six-star service and smiling faces will give the party the right vibe.

Birthday parties, anniversaries, retirement, there's always a reason to celebrate

Burgess yachts with bars

Whether celebrating, drinking sunset cocktails, a pre-dinner drink or watching sports events, the bar on a yacht is generally one of the focal points on board a superyacht. They come in many forms, ranging from wet bars on the sun deck to sit-up bars in the beach club, sky lounge bars and cosy saloon bars, backlit-onyx bars, and elegant marble-top bars.

Have fun with a theme

Nothing says party more than people dressing up, and themed parties are almost always popular among charter guests. They create memorable experiences – even more so when the yacht is decked out in appropriately themed decorations.

A themed event adds theatre and means everyone gets into the spirit

From an elegant James Bond-themed evening, perhaps with poker and blackjack tables set up, to a retro-style '60s party with a dancefloor and appropriate playlist, or Pirates of the Caribbean, they can revolve around just about any concept imaginable.

A '60s theme comes with a deliciously groovy soundtrack

For those cruising in the Caribbean, consider a pirate party involving all the family. Many crews are well known for the creativity and polish of their themed parties. While keeping the younger guests entertained with a treasure hunt on the beach, you can enjoy sundowners on the sand.

A pirate theme comes with all sorts of fun narratives, treasure hunts and battles

Back on board enjoy drinks on the sun deck before dining al fresco on the main deck. If you're having a larger bash in port, have your pirate outfits sent ahead and the yacht dressed with pirate paraphernalia. Canapes and rum cocktails can be served in treasure chests!

Why are pirates called pirates? Because they Arrr!

While in the Mediterranean, perhaps cruising around the  Greek islands , a toga party might involve some Greek cuisine followed by dancing, and then a movie night under the stars with Mamma Mia or My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding on the big screen. Or while in Cannes, a Bollywood party, or in Monaco why not throw a Mexican fiesta during the Grand Prix?

A Mamma Mia party while cruising the Greek Islands? Why not!

Poolside parties

On the larger more modern superyachts spa pools are generally a given these days, and although some may be limited to a sun deck jacuzzi, the largest of the charter yachts usually have all manner of water features, ranging from infinity pools with waterfalls, glass-bottomed pools, swim-up bars, and pools with counter currents.

And then you have the real party yachts, with swimming pools that turn into dance floors, and built-in DJ booths for the ultimate occasion aboard. The 73m  TITANIA , for example, hosts her guests around the pool deck bar with seating for up to eight guests, and another four seats inside the pool itself, all complete with a DJ set up to create a real pool party atmosphere.

Consider your guest list

Whether your party is a small and intimate affair or a large, quayside event, most yachts can accommodate up to 12 guests while cruising and hundreds more while berthed alongside, when different rules apply.

However, understated elegance is key, with fewer guests and more quality time to socialise. In fact, 100-120 guests is often considered the tipping point of human intimacy and interaction, so keep this in mind when considering a larger gathering.

In port regulations allow yachts to welcome many more guests

Entertainment

Entertainment systems have always played an important role in the overall yacht party experience. Audio-visual technologies have changed significantly over the past decade, and the most successful charter yachts feature the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art and fully-integrated entertainment systems throughout their guest areas.

A tiered cinema and surround sound make sure everyone gets the best experience

From indoor and outdoor entertainment facilities, and the latest audio-visual equipment (including on-demand movies and music systems available throughout all guest areas and strong Wi-Fi for streaming), to private cinema rooms and outdoor cinema set-ups, almost anything available on land is also possible at sea.

An outdoor cinema screen delivers movies under the stars

Music and speakers

Music is an essential part of any party, and whether you prefer the dulcet tones of Adele during dinner or the pumping beats of a live DJ set during a dockside party, music always sets the tone. Surround sound systems for yachts with their own dedicated cinemas have become the norm, while built-in speakers on the party deck are fine tuned to deliver the best possible audio quality regardless of the musical genre.

Most charter yachts take sound quality very seriously indeed - the best of everything

Some yachts have a dual-purpose feature - a sun deck, for example - that transforms into a party deck after dark and music entices guests from open-air dining on the bridge deck below to party upstairs. Live bands are no longer de rigeur, instead world-famous DJs can be booked by your Burgess charter broker to come on board and play their set for your guests, with some big names keen to play private gigs.

A sun deck nightclub could welcome the biggest names in clubland

Gourmet dining with your own personal chef is obviously one of the principal attractions of any charter vacation, but however delicious the dishes may be, how your meals are presented will have a huge impact on the overall dining experience.

Why not bring a Michelin-starred celebrity chef on board for a private dining experience?

An al fresco or formal dining set-up large enough to seat the number of guests invited is of course a must. For larger, cocktail events, a few different open-air dining options are better suited. The trend for celebrity chefs catering for such large events is on the rise, working hand in hand with your own superyacht chef to create the ultimate tasty menu to wow your guests.

Huge swathes of guest deck space make for stellar entertainment

For some, proximity to the ocean is a must, so why not dine in a yacht's beach club right by the water’s edge. The 62m  BATON ROUGE , for example, features an ocean-level beach club that incorporates lounging areas and easy access to the water by day, and transforms into the ultimate al fresco dining area by night.

A huge beach club, like BATON ROUGE's, can really make a charter, day and night

Alternatively, many modern yachts feature Teppanyaki grills – perfect for guests looking to experience something a little different in a tropical climate. Plus you and your guests get the chef's table experience with wonderful dishes prepared before your very eyes and served straight from the grill.

A Teppanyaki grill adds a touch of theatre to any meal

The raised aft deck seating area aboard the 56m MY SEANNA can be converted into a dancefloor complete with state-of-the-art sound. There's also a backlit bar and lounge/dining area on the bridge deck, a 10-person spa pool that has its own bar, and a beach club at water level.

Helipads present the ideal option for a dancefloor and a huge jacuzzi to cool your feet afterwards

The aforementioned 73m  TITANIA also features a beach club, complete with sauna, which can then be converted into a nightclub to continue celebrations into the night. You could even have your make-up and hair done in the yacht's beauty salon before the evening celebrations begin.

TITANIA's beach club transforms into a nightclub after dark

Special touches make it memorable

Details make all the difference. Ambient lighting, an attentive crew, the quality of sound or the welcome cocktail, the most successful and memorable superyacht parties are those where the crews have gone the extra mile. The occasions will usually dictate the type of party and the style.

Tablescaping is just one way of elevating your entertainment experience

For example, an anniversary celebration might have a more romantic theme, with soft lighting and candles, and elegant crockery and flowers all adding to the intimate sense of occasion. A New Year’s Eve celebration or birthday might however require more of a fun or risqué theme. Whatever you want, it can be done.

Romance is in the air! It's impossible for love not to blossom

Most of the yachts in the Burgess charter fleet are designed for entertaining, with guest areas outstandingly assigned to allow for all manner of occasions according to desire. The yachts in the selection above are just afew of those recommended by Burgess charter experts as welcoming celebrations.

day party on a yacht

Organizing a yacht party is no easy task. From the guest list to the food, each aspect needs careful consideration. Let us help guide you through the process of throwing a memorable yacht party that will make your guests wow!

Picture this: a beautiful ocean with the sun setting, gentle breezes blowing on your face while you sip champagne on the yacht’s deck. A yacht party is a sign of luxury and sophistication . But how do you get started?

First, it’s a must to pick the right yacht. Think about size, amenities, and location to find one that fits your needs. Whether it’s for a birthday or corporate event, selecting the perfect boat sets up an extraordinary experience.

Next, consider your guest list. Make sure to include people who have common interests and can mix comfortably. A group with interesting personalities will lead to lively conversations and a pleasant atmosphere on the boat.

Food is an essential part of any successful party, including a yacht one. Partner with top-notch chefs to take your event’s culinary experience to the next level. Choose a menu that meets different dietary needs and features delicious dishes with fresh and local ingredients.

Now let me tell you about my own yacht party experience. Last summer, I went to a gathering on a magnificent yacht with influential people from various sectors. As we danced beneath the stars with a beautiful view, relationships were formed and new opportunities rose – showing how vital it is to plan a party meticulously.

Choosing the yacht

Choosing the Ideal Yacht

When selecting a yacht for your party, considering various factors is crucial to ensure a successful event. Deliberate on the following points to make an informed decision:

  • Size and Capacity: Assess the number of guests the yacht can comfortably accommodate and ensure it has sufficient space for socializing and entertainment.
  • Amenities: Look for yachts equipped with amenities like a well-stocked bar, entertainment systems, luxurious cabins, and ample seating areas.
  • Catering Options: Explore the catering services offered by the yacht, ensuring they can provide a menu that suits your guests’ preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Budget: Evaluate the cost of renting the yacht, considering your budget and the value you receive in terms of yacht features, crew services, and overall experience.

To guarantee an unforgettable yacht party, pay attention to unique details such as the yacht’s maintenance history, safety measures in place, and the crew’s professionalism. Prioritize these factors to organize a memorable event.

Did you know that some luxury yachts offer themes, such as beach parties or casino nights, to enhance the overall experience? According to Boat International , this adds a unique touch to your event and immerses your guests in a one-of-a-kind ambiance.

Go big or go home – unless you’re organizing a yacht party, then just go big and bring home all the enthusiastic partygoers.

Size and capacity

Choosing the right yacht? Consider its size and capacity! It’s important to assess these factors carefully. They decide how comfortable it is and if it suits your needs.

To analyze size and capacity, think about:

  • Length : Longer yachts usually mean more roomy cabins and living areas.
  • Beam : Broader beams make for a more comfortable cruise.
  • Passenger Capacity : Check the max number of people allowed on board. Stick to safety regulations and guarantee a nice journey.
  • Crew Accommodation : If you plan to hire a crew, make sure there’s enough room for them.

Analyzing these factors helps choose the perfect yacht for your requirements. Plus, consider other unique elements. Like swimming platforms or helipads that add to its functionality.

Look into all size, capacity, and feature details. That way, you make sure the chosen vessel has everything for an unforgettable sailing experience. Don’t forget to explore all your options before making a decision. Sail forth with confidence!

Amenities and facilities

Choosing the right yacht is paramount. It comes down to amenities and facilities. These can make your trip more comfortable. One example is spacious cabins with en-suite bathrooms – perfect for privacy. You can also expect state-of-the-art TV’s, sound systems and movie libraries . Gourmet dining is a bonus too.

Some yachts offer even more. For instance, a spa or wellness center . Water toys and sports gear are also available for those who want to get active.

Here’s how to make the most of your yacht experience:

  • Pick a yacht that fits all your needs – size, layout and amenities .
  • Choose one with equipment for water sports and recreational activities.
  • And remember the crew – they can make a huge difference in service.

Now you can ensure a truly exceptional voyage with the right amenities and facilities onboard your yacht!

Cost and availability

High-end yachts, costing between $500,000 and 10 million , can be hard to come by due to their exclusivity. These vessels are the epitome of luxury.

Mid-range yachts, priced between $200,000 and 500,000 , offer a balance of luxury and affordability, and are widely available.

Meanwhile, budget-friendly yachts cost under $200,000 and are easily accessible for those on a tight budget.

I recall a story of a couple who were after a high-end yacht. They were disappointed by its limited availability. Yet, they opted for a mid-range yacht with similar features. In the end, they were happy with their decision, as it allowed them to cruise without compromising too much on luxury.

Considering cost and availability factors can help you find the right yacht. Think about your budget, prioritize your needs, and explore the range of options. You’ll be sure to find a vessel that will bring you joy on the open seas.

Planning the guest list

Planning the guest list for a yacht party involves careful consideration and meticulous organization. It is crucial to curate the most suitable and diverse group of attendees to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. Here are five key points to keep in mind:

  • Determine the yacht’s capacity: Assess the maximum number of guests that the yacht can comfortably accommodate. This will help you establish a limit for the guest list and ensure everyone has enough space to move around and socialize.
  • Consider the purpose of the event: Define the purpose of the yacht party, whether it is a celebration, a networking event, or simply a casual gathering. Align the guest list with the event’s objective to ensure a cohesive and engaging atmosphere.
  • Assess guest preferences and dynamics: Take into account the interests, personalities, and compatibility of potential attendees. Strive for a well-balanced mix of individuals who will contribute positively to the overall ambiance and interact harmoniously.
  • Extend invitations in a timely manner: Give ample notice to your desired guests, allowing them sufficient time to plan and RSVP. Be clear and concise in your invitations, providing all necessary details such as date, time, location, and any specific instructions or requirements.
  • Manage potential conflicts or exclusions: Address any potential conflicts or exclusions sensitively and discreetly. Consider factors such as previous conflicts between guests or the need to maintain a certain level of exclusivity. As the host, it is your responsibility to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Remember, an effectively planned guest list can greatly contribute to the success of a yacht party, creating an atmosphere that encourages socializing, networking, and relaxation.

Pro Tip: Take into account the specific preferences and dietary restrictions of your guests when planning the menu and drinks selection to ensure everyone feels catered to. Invite enough guests to fill the yacht, but not so many that you need to install bunk beds and start charging admission – remember, it’s a party, not a luxury hostel.

Deciding on the number of guests

Be mindful of the venue’s capacity. This is key when making the guest list. Determine how many people can fit comfortably.

Start by inviting family and close friends. Consider the budget too. Each extra guest increases cost.

Make sure there’s a balanced mix of guests. Think about social dynamics and potential conflicts.

Remember that some may not be able to attend. Look at historical data or ask for input from event planners or confidants.

These points will help decide on the right number of guests.

The Knot conducted a study that showed couples invite an average of 136 guests to wedding celebrations.

Invitations and RSVPs

The table indicates the importance of an RSVP deadline . It helps hosts finalize their plans on time. Guests who don’t respond by the given date can cause problems, like seating arrangements and catering orders.

Did you know invitations have been used for centuries? Handwritten letters were the primary means of inviting people to events. The phrase “ R pondez s’il vous pla t ” ( R.S.V.P. ) became popular in the late eighteenth century.

Nowadays, digital invitations and online RSVPs have revolutionized the process. They make tracking responses and planning events easier for both hosts and guests.

Special considerations (e.g., dietary restrictions)

Planning a guest list? Make sure to take special dietary restrictions into account. Consideration and thoughtfulness should be shown to every guest. Check out the table below for different dietary restrictions and what they require:

Dietary Restriction Requirements
Vegetarian No meat or fish
Vegan No animal products
Gluten-free No wheat
Lactose-intolerant No dairy products

Also, take allergies into account. These may include nuts, shellfish, or soy. And, religious dietary requirements, like kosher or halal diets, need specific attention.

Gather this info before the event. Give your guests the chance to inform you of their dietary restrictions during the RSVP process. Doing so will create an enjoyable experience for all attendees. Ask for dietary requirements to avoid leaving anyone out. Plan ahead to make your guests feel welcome.

Food and drinks

When it comes to catering for a yacht party, one must carefully plan the food and drinks to ensure that guests are satisfied with the dining experience. Here’s a closer look at the delicious offerings that can be arranged on board.

A memorable yacht party requires an impressive menu that caters to all tastes and preferences. From a variety of delectable appetizers to tantalizing seafood dishes, the possibilities are endless. Guests can indulge in savory canap s, gourmet sushi, or refreshing ceviche, all carefully prepared by a professional chef. For the main course, mouthwatering options like grilled lobster, prime rib, or Mediterranean-inspired pasta dishes are sure to impress. And of course, a selection of fine wines, champagne, and signature cocktails should be available to complement the culinary delights.

To visually organize the array of food and drink options, a table can be created. This table showcases the various courses and corresponding beverages, ensuring that guests have a clear overview. Here’s a glimpse of what the table would look like:

Course Beverage
Appetizers Champagne
Seafood White Wine
Main Course Red Wine
Dessert Cocktails

Now, let’s move on to some unique details about the food and drinks. For a touch of elegance, personalized menus can be made for each guest, allowing them to feel truly special. Additionally, various dietary restrictions and preferences should be taken into account, offering vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan options to ensure nobody feels left out. The yacht party experience can be further enhanced by incorporating interactive food stations, where guests can customize their meals or interact with a skilled mixologist to create their own signature drinks.

Pro Tip: To elevate the overall dining experience, consider hiring a professional sommelier or mixologist who can provide expert guidance and recommendations to guests, enhancing their enjoyment of the food and drinks on board.

Remember, careful planning and attention to detail are key when organizing a yacht party. By curating a delectable menu and creating an impressive display, guests are sure to have an unforgettable dining experience while sailing the seas. Who needs a fancy menu when you can satisfy your guests with a simple offering of caviar and champagne? It’s all about yacht-classy, not yacht-fancy!

Selecting a menu

For simplifying, let’s look at a table outlining aspects to check when selecting a menu:

Aspect Details

By using these strategies, restaurants can not only meet specific dietary needs, but also create an inviting environment that will bring back customers.

Safety and regulations

Safety and regulations are crucial when organizing a yacht party to ensure the well-being and compliance of all participants. To ensure safety, it is important to provide life jackets for all passengers and have a sufficient number of fire extinguishers onboard. Additionally, clearly marked emergency exits should be easily accessible, and a fully stocked first aid kit should be available in case of any injuries or medical emergencies. Furthermore, conducting safety briefings before the yacht sets sail will help familiarize passengers with safety protocols and procedures.

It is essential to emphasize the importance of adhering to regulations and guidelines, such as speed limits and navigation rules. Avoiding overcrowding and maintaining a proper guest-to-staff ratio is crucial for everyone’s safety. Additionally, considering weather conditions and having a backup plan in case of any unforeseen circumstances can help prevent any potential risks.

Some suggestions to ensure safety and regulations are followed include hiring professional and experienced crew members who are well-versed in safety protocols. Conducting regular safety inspections and maintenance checks on the yacht will help identify and address any potential hazards. Moreover, having a designated responsible person on board who is knowledgeable about emergency procedures and can effectively communicate with both guests and crew members is essential. By implementing these suggestions, the safety and regulation standards of the yacht party can be effectively maintained.

Why worry about safety protocols when you can just throw caution, and maybe a few unlucky guests, to the wind at your yacht party?

Understanding safety protocols

Always put on suitable PPE for specific tasks to protect from probable threats.

Conduct regular safety training programs to inform employees about emergency measures and provide them with the knowledge to manage unforeseen events.

Do regular reviews and maintenance on equipment and machines to spot any potential issues or dangers.

Set up clear communication networks within the organization to ensure effective reporting of safety issues or accidents, ensuring prompt resolution.

Develop an incident response plan that involves evacuation paths, emergency phone numbers, and set meeting points to guarantee a rapid response during grave conditions.

Moreover, it is fundamental to stay aware of industry-specific safety guidelines . Rules are there to provide instructions that companies must obey to make a secure work environment. Being up-to-date with these regulations not only makes sure of observance but also helps in reducing legal risks.

To further reinforce safety protocols, consider creating a culture in which everyone takes responsibility for their own safety. Urge employees to report any close calls or risks they come across. Introducing a reward system for good safety behavior will encourage individuals to actively join in keeping a safe workplace.

By taking these proactive steps, organizations can make a safer working environment for their staff. Remember that understanding and following safety protocols is beyond just satisfying the law; it is about putting the well-being of people first and establishing a culture where safety is incorporated in every part of the business.

Coast guard regulations and requirements

Coast Guard Regulations and Requirements – it’s essential to know!

Topic Description
Safety Equipment Working life jackets, fire extinguishers, distress signals, and navigational lights are a must.
Vessel Inspections Inspections to check if safety standards and operational readiness are met, are done regularly.
Licensing Operators must have the necessary licenses or certifications according to vessel type.
Navigation Rules Adhering to navigation rules is essential for orderly waterways.
Pollution Control Hazardous materials must be handled and disposed of properly, to protect marine ecosystems.

Remember, there are particular requirements that depend on region or type of vessel. The Coast Guard is constantly updating these regulations. Following them is important – legally and for safety! Avoid penalties or worse by staying informed. Get up-to-date and navigate confidently, whilst creating a safer maritime environment.

Emergency preparedness and safety equipment

Having an effective emergency response plan is a must. Training staff, doing drills and having clear communication channels are needed. Appropriate safety equipment is essential, from fire extinguishers to gas leak detectors. Regular maintenance of safety equipment is key. Checking expiry dates, testing alarms and fixing damaged equipment should be done quickly.

Remember, emergency preparedness isn’t just about the equipment. Escape routes for people with disabilities and designated assembly areas should be thought about. For extra safety, organizations can do the following:

  • Train employees on emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
  • Run regular drills to practice and spot weaknesses in the emergency response plan.
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment regularly.

By taking these steps, organizations can create a safer environment. Being proactive is better than being reactive when lives and risks are concerned.

Managing logistics

True Fact: According to Forbes, the global yacht charter market was valued at $15.36 billion in 2020, with an expected growth of 5.2% from 2021 to 2028.

Scheduling the party date and time: Finding the perfect time to party on a yacht is like trying to catch a mermaid’s appointment book, but with a little luck and a good wifi connection, you’ll be setting sail in no time.

Scheduling the party date and time

Planning a party? It’s not easy! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you schedule the best date and time:

  • Occasion: What type of event are you organizing? Is it casual or formal? This will determine if it should be during the day or at night.
  • Check availability: Ask important people for their preferred dates and times. This increases the chance of maximum attendance.
  • Logistics: Consider travel time and venue availability. Choose a date with convenient transportation arrangements. Ensure the venue is available too.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to schedule the perfect date and time. Keep in mind cultural and religious holidays, local events or festivals that could cause traffic problems.

An example: My friend Alice planned an outdoor birthday party on a weekend afternoon. Unfortunately, it rained and some guests couldn’t attend. She learned to check the weather beforehand and have a back-up plan!

Transportation arrangements

Organizing transportation logistics involves setting up the movement of products and materials from one spot to another. This includes organizing all elements of transport, like deciding on carriers, figuring out routes, and guaranteeing on-time delivery.

Carrier Route Schedule Cost

A big part of transport arrangements is picking the correct carrier for your needs. Different carriers have distinct services and abilities, so it’s vital to select one that fits your specific requirements. Things to think about include the carrier’s reputation, dependability, and ability to handle your goods safely and effectively.

Another key point is finding the most efficient route for transporting your goods. This involves looking at various elements, such as distance, road conditions, traffic patterns, and any regulations or restrictions that may be applicable. By selecting the ideal route, you can reduce transport costs and increase effectiveness.

It’s also essential to create a plan for transport that lines up with your business objectives. This includes thinking about factors like lead times, production plans, customer demands, and any time-sensitive or perishable goods. By cautiously planning and organizing transport timetables, you can guarantee timely delivery of goods to their desired destinations.

Ultimately, cost is a major part of transport arrangements. It’s important to evaluate different options and compare prices while considering the overall value provided by each carrier. Finding the perfect balance between cost and service quality is essential for maximizing your logistics operations.

When it comes to managing logistics for transportation arrangements, several challenges businesses face daily. For instance, unforeseen delays due to weather or machinery issues can disrupt delivery timetables and impact customer satisfaction. One recent incident happened when a truck transporting perishable food ran into an engine breakdown on its way to its destination. The transportation team swiftly mobilized resources to arrange an alternate transport and ensure on-time delivery while limiting any spoilage.

In conclusion, successful control of transportation arrangements needs thorough planning and coordination across multiple aspects of logistics. By looking at carriers, routes, schedules, and costs, businesses can optimize their transport operations and guarantee the easy movement of goods from one place to another.

Onboard setup and decoration

Take care when choosing furniture and fixtures. Comfy seating and eye-catching decor can create a pleasant atmosphere. Lighting should be paid attention to. The right mix of ambient, accent, and task lighting can improve the mood and ambiance onboard. Artwork and decorative pieces can also add sophistication. These pieces can act as focal points.

Plus, make sure the setup and decor reflect the brand’s image. This builds a visual identity and a sense of professionalism. For extra measure, update and refresh the onboard setup every now and then. Rotate decor elements or introduce seasonal themes to keep passengers interested.

Finalizing details

Finalizing the Arrangements:

  • Guest List: Confirm the final guest list and send out invitations, ensuring you have the accurate number of attendees.
  • Menu Selection: Choose a diverse and delectable menu that caters to various dietary preferences, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
  • Entertainment: Coordinate with DJs or live bands and finalize the music selection to set the perfect ambiance for the yacht party.

  • Safety Measures: Ensure all safety precautions are in place, including life jackets, first aid kits, and emergency contact numbers, to prioritize the well-being of all guests.

Highlighting Specific Arrangements:

Consider arranging for shuttle services to provide convenient transportation to and from the yacht. This additional service will enhance the overall experience for your guests.

Suggestions and their Benefits:

  • Dedicated Event Planner: Hiring a professional event planner can alleviate the stress of organizing the yacht party, ensuring smooth execution and attention to even the smallest details.
  • Pre-party Meetings: Conducting pre-party meetings with the crew, vendors, and entertainers allows for effective communication and coordination, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Personalized Touch: Consider providing personalized gifts or welcome packages for your guests, such as engraved champagne flutes or custom-made tote bags. This gesture adds a thoughtful touch, making the event memorable.

  • Photo Booth: Set up a photo booth on the yacht to create fun and lasting memories. Providing props and a professional photographer allows guests to capture special moments in a unique way.

These suggestions work to enhance the overall experience of the yacht party by adding convenience, personalization, entertainment, and lasting memories for all attendees.

Confirming with vendors and suppliers – because without them, your yacht party might just end up being a lonely cruise with a few confused seagulls.

Confirming with vendors and suppliers

To sail through the process, here’s a 5-step guide :

  • Collect contact details : Gather the names, phone numbers, emails and all other details of your vendors and suppliers.
  • Arrange a meeting : Reach out to them to set up a meeting or call. This is to ensure everyone knows their roles and commitments.

  • Document everything : After all the details are in place, document it all. This includes agreements, terms, commitments, etc. Written records help avoid misunderstandings.

Plus, communication is key for project success. Regular updates and follow-ups can help address any issues fast.

Pro Tip : When talking to vendors or suppliers, create a central system where all documentation can be easily accessed. This will streamline communication and keep everyone updated.

By following these steps, you can maintain good communication with your vendors and suppliers and accomplish all your project goals.

Coordinating with yacht staff

It’s key to assign clear roles and responsibilities to every crew member. Keep an open dialogue to quickly fix any problems. Generate a supportive and cooperative ambiance to promote team spirit. Have regular meetings to talk about plans, timetables, and any changes. Offer proper training and continuing growth for the crew.

Also, prioritize safety protocols and emergency readiness with yacht staff. Practice drills and debate potential scenarios frequently. This will help the crew handle any unexpected events.

The significance of mental health among yacht staff is now widely known. Take time to see how each person is doing emotionally and provide aid if required. This can hugely improve the work atmosphere.

One great example of successful coordination with yacht staff is a high-profile charter. The captain and crew worked together effortlessly to go beyond the clients’ expectations. They anticipated their needs and provided outstanding service all the time. The outcome was a remarkable experience and glowing reviews from the satisfied guests.

Preparing an itinerary for the party

It’s essential to decide the when and where of the party. This will help guests plan! Create an agenda with activities, games, entertainment and food service that your guests will enjoy. Don’t forget to allocate time for speeches or presentations so everyone gets a chance to be heard.

If needed, arrange transportation options for out-of-towners. To keep everyone engaged, consider incorporating surprise elements into the itinerary. Also think about unique details like themes and personalized decorations or favors to make the event special.

For example, I once attended a party with an exciting treasure hunt! Guests got clues that took them around the venue. This unexpected twist made the night fun and exciting.

Planning your party with all these considerations in mind will create a memorable and well-organized event that your guests will talk about long after it’s over.

  • Remember to give clear directions of the yacht’s location to your guests.
  • Have a safety briefing before sailing, to make sure everyone stays secure during the party.
  • Hire a professional photographer to capture those special moments . These details will add a touch of elegance and excitement to your yacht party.

Q: How can I ensure the safety of my guests during the yacht party?

A: Prioritize safety by hiring trained and experienced crew members. The crew should be well-versed in emergency procedures and possess necessary certifications. Additionally, make sure there are enough life jackets onboard and provide clear safety instructions to your guests before setting sail.

Q: Can I decorate the yacht for my party?

A: Most yacht rental companies allow decorations within reason. However, it is best to check with the rental company beforehand to understand any restrictions or guidelines they have in place. Avoid using materials that could damage or mark the yacht’s interior or exterior surfaces.

The 8 best boat parties to sail away on in NYC this summer

New York! Get boozy on a boat in 2024

La Barca Cantina

Maya Skidmore

This summer, the heat is on and the best way to cool down is to get out on the water. You athletic types can try kayaking NYC’s rivers , and landlubbers can stick to the city’s prominent waterfront restaurants and boat bars , but if you have any hint of seafaring fun in you, a boat party in NYC is one of the best things to do in the summer . Open waters, sea breezes and stunning views of Manhattan are all on tap when you embark on a booze cruise in NYC. Oh and did we mention full bars, great food, and live music?

Take your summer celebrations to the next level and set sail with these incredible NYC boat parties. There’s something for everyone, whether it’s a cantina-themed boat, a lobster-centric excursion, a fine dining cruise or a leisurely happy hour float. You’re more than welcome to rock the boat on a rock n roll cruise, and cocktails are tastier when sipped on a yacht. Check out these NYC boat parties for a totally nautical summer.

The best boat parties in NYC

1.  north river lobster company.

North River Lobster Company

During the summer,  North River Lobster Company  (New York City’s beloved floating seafood restaurant since 2014) offers four daily sailings at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm from Wednesday to Sunday every week. Afternoon cruises are 1 hour and the 7pm cruise is a two-hour route to the Statue of Liberty and back —how beautiful! On the menu: Maine Lobster Rolls, seafood platters, burgers, and ready-to-share appetizers. New menu items this year include tuna tartare, clam dip and chips, The Skagen shrimp roll, and sweet lobster clawsicles in four different flavors (mango, piña colada, strawberry and lime). The best deal on board may be the $17 glass of rosé and 3 oyster special, or you can go all out with the epic 28-inch lobster roll (dubbed the world’s largest lobster roll) for $149, to feed a group.

2.  Evening Jazz Cruise

Evening Jazz Cruise

Here’s one for the schmoozy, romantic vacationers who are seeking a maximum NYC experience. This sunset sailing cruise with a live jazz band will have you gazing (and jiving) out as the sun drops below Manhattan. Sitting on a 1920s sailing boat, you’ll sail past NYC’s biggest landmarks (including the Statue of Liberty) while a live band plays a mix of beloved classics to contemporary R&B renditions. With an alcoholic drink in hand, live jazz in your ears, and the city lights sparkling in your eyes across the water, you’re in for a swingingly good time.

3.  Alive After Five Happy Hour Cruise

Alive After Five Happy Hour Cruise

You didn’t forget all about Happy Hour, did you? It’s basically your dang right after making it through your day job. Gather your clocked-out coworkers and friends and board the Alive After Five cruise, which makes the most of happy hour—it actually lasts two hours —along the Hudson River in City Cruises’ Sensation yacht. You’ll have two climate-controlled desks to choose from, plus a covered roof deck, and multiple dance floors if that’s your jam. And if you still have sea legs for social life after all that social distancing, the cruise has a DJ to get the party moving.

4.  Rocks Off Concert Cruises

Rocks Off Concert Cruises

If you’re looking for yacht rock, look away: the savvy organizers of this floating concert snare hard rock bands like Murphy’s Law, Badfish, and Electric Six that draw die hard fans for serious—and often seriously sweaty—rock sessions. They know the ropes when it comes to pulling off a bash in a boat, so make sure you’re ready for plenty of percussion and less calls for mutiny than encores.

5.  Bateaux New York Dining Cruises

Bateaux New York Dining Cruises

Is it really a party if you’re sitting down? Yes—it’s called a dinner party . On the fancier side (semi-formal dress is encouraged), this dinner cruise looks particularly swell inside the European-inspired Bateaux New York, a glass-roofed boat that soaks in Manhattan’s lit skyline after sunset while navigating the East and Hudson Rivers. The experience takes it up a notch with live music—a two-piece acoustic band led by a female vocalist—and takes dinner to the next level with seafood towers, filet mignon, and lobster tails.

6.  Evening Cocktail Cruise

Evening Cocktail Cruise

Head to Chelsea Piers and say cheers with an evening cocktail party aboard a 1920’s inspired yacht, an intimate little party boat that rounds out a 1.75 hour journey with modern riffs on old-school cocktails, like a Sake Gimlet or a Rosemary Rickey. The charter, Sail NYC, runs a tight ship—and we mean that literally, considering the boat’s smaller size—that’ll get you tipsy in no time. Yes, the focus is technically on the booze, but also on the views seen from the yacht’s large windows as you ease past classic sites like the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and Ellis Island.

7.  La Barca Cantina

La Barca Cantina

La Barca Cantina , the only Mexican restaurant on a boat in NYC, serves a summer street food-inspired menu that’ll get the party started for you and your friends. Based at Pier 81, next to its sister-restaurant North River Lobster Company, La Barca spans three levels with an expansive outdoor top deck with a bar and table seating, a bi-level interior space with two bars, table seating and booth-like tables—perfect for large groups.  Even better, it takes short cruises multiple times per day, five days a week, offering up sweeping views of the NYC skyline. (It's a must to reserve a table for cocktails at sunset.)

8.  Narwhal Yacht Charters

Narwhal Yacht Charters

A party is what you make of it, especially when you make it your own . For a little more privacy, groups of up to six can rent their own excursion with Narwhal Yacht Charters—it’s on the pricier end, but the seasoned charter is worth their salt, having just celebrated its 10th season on NYC’s waters. The captain provides the necessities (bottled water, sodas, ice, napkins, that sorta stuff) but the rest is up to you. Pick up food from your favorite restaurant, bring all of your favorite booze, and set sail with your besties.

Party guests can arrive or depart in style thanks to the touch-and-go helipad, while a Japanese-style dining room with a teppanyaki grill, a private cinema, a two-level pool with a swim-up bar and a fully-equipped dive centre offer all the amenities for a variety of party themes and occasions.

Capacity at quay: 36 guests

Dream is managed by Hill Robinson with a weekly charter rate starting from €2,000,000.

The bridge deck on Royal Denship superyacht Force Blue , complete with a cocktail bar, professional DJ station and disco lighting offers the perfect setup for partying the night away. There’s also a sundeck hot tub, a games table in the saloon and an impressive walk-in wine cellar next to the formal dining room to keep guests entertained. The next day, stunning spa facilities will revive the sore-of-head, while the plain exhausted can retreat to the cinema. Currently undergoing an extensive winter refit, Force Blue will be back on the charter market this summer having been extended to 70 metres with an enlarged beach club and refreshed interiors.

Capacity at quay: 60 guests

Force Blue is managed for charter by Fraser , with a charter rate starting from €330,000 per week.

Sea Breeze III

After undergoing an extensive refit in 2020, classic superyacht Sea Breeze III is back on the charter market, offering the perfect setting for an event or celebration by combining old-school charm with modern facilities. New additions include an extended swimming platform with a barbecue for al fresco celebrations, plus a hydrotherapy hot tub on the foredeck and a well-stocked toybox. As Sea Breeze III is permanently based in Auckland, New Zealand, guests stepping on board for a party can enjoy the scenic cruising grounds of the Hauraki Gulf and wider south pacific, complemented by locally-sourced seafood and speciality wines.

Capacity at quay: 99 guests

Sea Breeze III is managed by 37 south with a weekly charter rate starting from $65,000.

Showcasing sporty lines and with a top speed of 38 knots, 50 metre  Da Vinci is one of the largest Mangustas available on the charter market. Launched in 2017, on board highlights include a large bathing platform, a spa pool on the 15 metre long foredeck, and an impressive open plan interior. The main saloon is the entertainment hub of the yacht, featuring a luxe marble bar and gilded, Gatsby-esque touches throughout.

Capacity at quay: 100 guests

Da Vinci is managed for charter by Northrop & Johnson with a weekly rate starting from €225,000.

Esmeralda's expansive decks are the ideal setting for a special anniversary, birthday or corporate event. The upper aft deck on this 62 metre superyacht has a bar, al fresco dining and optional awnings for protection from the sun. Meanwhile, guests can enjoy 360-degree views from the panoramic sun deck complete with a raised jacuzzi and sun loungers. Her striking, classic-inspired lines will turn heads in any port, while lavishly decorated interiors set the scene for a night of glamorous festivities.

Esmeralda is managed by Fraser with a weekly charter rate starting from $230,000.

After an extensive interior refit in 2018, this 73 metre  Lurssen is certainly in ship shape. There's space for 200 revellers on Titania's sun and pool decks alone, while a 3.8 metre stern extension houses a beach club with sauna, bar and sofas, which converts into a stylish nightclub for those looking to continue the party into the night. For smaller gatherings, the pool deck bar seats eight – with another four pool seats – and can be set up for a DJ. Primary charterers staying on board can get glammed up for events in the beauty salon with the help of the on board beautician before other guests arrive, then can unwind after the festivities with a treatment from the resident masseuse.

Capacity at quay: 200 guests

Titania is managed for charter by Burgess and has a weekly starting rate of €525,000.

For parties where music is a key element, 62 metre motor yacht RoMa is more than sufficiently equipped for dockside events as her impressive audio system includes a party mode that provides music to all decks. There's also a games table for playing poker if the event is casino themed, while her main saloon bar is an ideal spot for pre and post dinner cocktails. A welcoming entrance lobby from which guests can head up to the party via a glass elevator sets the mood for revellers on arrival.

RoMa is managed by Northrop & Johnson with a weekly charter rate starting from €345,000.

Zac Efron, Gerard Butler and bikini-clad women party on yacht in St Tropez – but fans spot ‘normal’ detail

ZAC Efron and Gerard Butler have been partying it up with a large group while on their getaway to St. Tropez.

Zac , who stars in the new A Family Affair film, showed off his toned physique while enjoying some time off at the popular vacation destination.

Zac, 36, was joined by his longtime friend and Scottish actor Gerard Butler, 54, as the two were surrounded by bikini-clad women on a luxury yacht .

One of the women included was Gerard's girlfriend, Sports Illustrated model Penny Lane, 29, along with fellow model Betsy Alvarez.

Some photos showed The Ugly Truth star hugging and taking candid photos of his girlfriend as they spent time together.

Prior to the St. Tropez trip, the pair — who have a 25-year age gap — were spotted happily strolling through London 's posh Primrose Hill.

Zac Efron parties with women in St Tropez after concern over changed appearance

Both Gerard and Zac appeared to be in good spirits for the boat excursion as they soaked up the sun while sipping on San Pellegrino sparkling water.

The High School Musical star flaunted his six-pack abs and tanned skin as he partied on the luxury boat and swam in the French waters with his shirt off.

Gerard, on the other hand, opted to keep his blue T-shirt on while enjoying the tropical outing.

While many of the women appeared to have their focus on the stars — with one even having Zac open her water for her — that wasn't the case for all partyers.

Zac was also seen boarding a yacht in St. Tropez last week to celebrate the Fourth of July .

The outing coincidentally came just one day after his ex-girlfriend,  Vanessa Hudgens , gave birth to her  first child .

The Iron Claw star wore a navy polo, pink swim trunks, a white Miu Miu bucket hat, and blue shoes.

He held onto a small pink bag and joined a group of unknown friends — who also had their own designer goodies.

The Netflix film will be available for streaming on June 28

  • Zac Efron as Chris Cole
  • Nicole Kidman as Brooke Harwood
  • Joey King as Zara Ford
  • Kathy Bates as Leila Ford
  • Liza Koshy as Eugenie

Rounding out the cast are Sherry Cola , Gissette Valentin , and Olivia Macklin

The day before, Zac was spotted once more on a yacht in the South of France while wearing a tight-fitting black T-shirt and denim jeans.

He was once more surrounded by a large group of women who were all dressed in summer dresses and skirts.

BRING BACK ZAC

Zac's holiday vacation comes shortly after his latest movie, A Family Affair, was released on Netflix last month.

In the new film, the actor plays a self-absorbed movie star who falls for Nicole Kidman 's character, who is the mother of his personal assistant.

While doing press before the movie's release, many fans called him out for having a completely new appearance.

Zac shared a behind-the-scenes clip from filming, to which some said his face had completely changed.

"Plastic surgery and aging ... oh but smoking probably. They can't fool us," one person wrote.

"WTF !!!! What happened to your face Zac?" asked a second.

BAD ACCIDENT

Others defended Zac, noting that he  underwent major surgery  on his face after getting into an accident years ago.

In a 2022 cover story for  Men's Health , Zac revealed that he shattered his jaw while running in his house with socks on, adding that he slipped and hit the corner of a fountain.

When he woke up after passing out, he realized that his chin bone was "hanging off" his face.

The actor claimed that his masseter muscles "compensated" for his injury and ended up growing in size.

8 Ways to Make Your Yacht Party Unforgettable

The guest list is set. Invites are set. RSVPs are rolling in. The excitement is buzzing for your next great soiree – and this time, that #yachtlife is calling.

Yup, that’s right. You’re upping your party planning game by hosting an unforgettable yacht party for your friends.

But how do you make it an affair to remember? Our party planning experts know how to throw a yacht party . And our home base in Marina del Rey is just the place to do it.

From a company yacht party or yacht wedding to family reunions or milestone birthday bashes, we know what it takes to host a fantastic party. The yacht party rental venue is only the first step.

What comes next? Read on to find out.

 1 – Set Your Theme

Hawaiian luau or rockstar punk? Roaring 20s or fiesta fun? Or do you prefer to keep it simple and focus on certain colors and hues?

yacht party theme

Whatever you decide, your theme will set the tone for your event. And a theme will help build your accents, decor, and other creative touches. Once you set the course, the fun is in the details.

2 – Music, Please

Do your guests like to heat up the dance floor? Book a DJ that will get your crowd moving. Or is live music more your style? From large big bands to smaller trios, live entertainment can seamlessly take your event from dinner to dancing.

yacht party entertainment

Also, consider your party’s theme when choosing music. A casual beach-themed party calls for laid-back surf jams while a black tie affair might prompt classic dance hits,

If you’re building your own playlist, be sure to include crowd-pleasers and recommendations from your guests.

Music keeps the party moving – get grooving!

3 – Guest List

Whether you’re hosting a big bash or intimate affair, determining a headcount right from the beginning will help ease the headache of unaccounted space issues and expenses. This will also help determine the best yacht rental in Marina del Rey for your soiree — not to mention your budget!

4 – Special Entertainment

There are so many ways to wow your guests. And nothing does the trick like specialty entertainment. Think cigar rolling, spirit tasting, poker tables, and lawn games like cornhole (we’ve held games on our FantaSea One skydeck!), all of which are popular ways to keep your guests smiling and buzzing with energy.

Another extra special touch is to hire a performer like a comedian or a magician. The possibilities with a yacht party are endless.

5 – Say, Cheese!

Having a professional photographer is one way to up the ante. Even better if they know how to photograph on a yacht. Capture that sunset magic and prepare for outdoor elements like a light wind from the ocean breeze

how to party on a yacht

If you’re not sure where to begin, we have a list of vendors to help you get a jump start (and these pros know our yachts like the back of their hands to help you get the best shot).

6 – Signature Cocktails

Personalize your yacht party with a signature cocktail. Is there an inside joke? A fun play on words that matches your theme? A preferred drink of choice by the host? Step it up, get creative and have fun with it. Specialty cocktails are a surefire way to get your guests buzzing.

7 – Get Social

It’s so fun to see your guests having a good time – and in this day and age, there is a 99.9% chance your yacht party will end up on social media. So why not join the fun? Designate a hashtag for your event, set up a selfie station , or host a photo booth to capture those memorable moments.

8 – Choose Your Yacht

Selecting the right venue will set the tone for your yacht party. At FantaSea Yachts, you have the luxury (and flexibility) of choosing a yacht based on your needs and vision. Why won't George W. Bush talk publicly about Donald Trump? It's simple.

Portrait of David Jackson

MILWAUKEE - Many Republican convention delegates like to salute the heritage of their party, but few of them these days talk about the next-to-last GOP president, George W. Bush .

And that suits Bush just fine.

For while Bush still keeps up with politics - including the resurgence of Republican successor and fervent critic Donald Trump - he doesn't like to talk about it publicly.

In paid private speeches, the long-retired 43rd president has been known to joke that both Trump and President Joe Biden are too old for the demands of the office.

"I'm younger than both of the candidates, and I'm too old," Bush has said in at least one speech, according to a witness who requested anonymity.

Just don't expect Bush, who turned 78 earlier this month, to say this kind of thing out loud - not even about Trump, the volatile businessman who built his political career in part by trashing the legacy of the Bush dynasty

While people often call on Bush to speak out against Trump and the Republican Party he has remade in his own image, friends and associates said he is standing by his pledge not to critique other presidents and political leaders.

"The job of the president is very hard to begin with," Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary for Bush, told USA TODAY. "He doesn't want to make it harder for anyone, friend or foe."

"It's very old school," Fleischer added. "It's very gracious. It's very Bush."

It also has public benefits for the former president - his approval ratings have more than doubled since he left office more than 15 years ago.

Bush has made the rare exceptions on his public comment policy, most recently a statement with former First Lady Laura Bush after last Saturday's assassination attempt against Trump.

"Laura and I are grateful that President Trump is safe following the cowardly attack on his life," Bush said. "And we commend the men and women of the Secret Service for their speedy response."

'He's turned the page'

Since leaving office on Jan. 20, 2009, Bush has made his mark as a book author, the head of an institute based in Dallas, and even as a portrait painter - but not a political pundit.

"He's turned the page," said Margaret Spellings, a long-time friend who served as Education Secretary during the Bush administration. "He's interested and he's connected and he's informed - but he's moved on."

And vice-versa.

When Republican conventioneers gather in Milwaukee next week to nominate Trump for a third time , the name of George W. Bush may never be heard.

Privately, Bush still follows current events. He gives speeches. He paints. Over the past decade-and-a-half, Bush has hosted dozens of fundraisers for favored Republican candidates, all behind closed doors.

Publicly: not much. Instead, Bush has pursued a unique path for an ex-president, all but walking away from political life. This from the grandson of a U.S. senator and the son of a president, the scion of an historic political family .

A few dust-ups with Trump

Bush has occasionally tangled with Trump, but it hasn't amounted to much.

In February of 2016, the former president stumped for younger brother Jeb Bush in his faltering Republican primary campaign against the first-time candidate Trump. Bush praised his sibling's qualifications, drawing implicit contrasts with Trump by talking about "faith that reveals itself through good works, not loud words.”

That became a part-time pattern after Trump became president. Bush would not call out Trump by name, but made clear he didn't like his divisive style, and sometimes getting blowback from Trump in process.

After Trump's inaugural address in 2017 - the speech in which the new president talked about American "carnage" - Bush nor his aides disputed his reported reaction : "That was some weird s---."

During a 2021 ceremony in Pennsylvania to mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks , Bush made a point of saying that "so much of our politics has become a naked appeal to anger, fear and resentment."

Trump, who has often attacked Bush over the invasion of Iraq , said his GOP predecessor "shouldn’t be lecturing us about anything." He added that "the World Trade Center came down during his watch."

Bush did leave office with very low approval ratings, sometimes well below 40%, in the wake of criticism of the Iraq war and the financial crisis of 2008. They've since jumped above 60%.

After the attempted insurrection by Trump loyalists on Jan. 6, 2021, Bush issued a statement saying that he and Laura Bush found it "a sickening and heartbreaking sight."

While, again, not citing Trump by name, Bush added: "This is how election results are disputed in a banana republic – not our democratic republic."

In describing Bush's approach, Fleischer said: "He doesn't attack, but he knows how to roll his eyes at things he doesn't like."

'Could you do the country a big favor'

Bush has remained quiet during Trump's re-emergence and march toward the 2024 Republican presidential nomination . He did not comment on the four sets of indictments against Trump, nor the hush money trial that made him the first convicted felon to seek the presidency from a major party.

Bush has also resisted a steady string of entreaties for him to "say something."

On July 6, Bush's birthday, anti-Trump lawyer George Conway used the social media site X to send a unique salutation: "Happy Birthday, Mr. President. Could you do the country a big favor and urge it not to elect a certain convicted felon and psychopath whom I assume you detest as much as the rest of us? Thanks in advance!"

Friends and associates said there's no real reason for Bush to engage.

For one thing, Bush is a Republican, and believes that a food fight with Trump would only help the Democrats, they said. Bush probably wouldn't gain much by it either.

Bush also feels, whatever the provocation, he owes Trump the same respect as all his other presidential colleagues.

"He just doesn't want to be in the game any more," said presidential historian Mark Updegrove, who pointed out that Bush uses the same phrase as Trump to describe the political environment: Swamp.

Said Updegrove: “When I spoke to Bush shortly after he left the presidency, he said, ‘the scene is a swamp out there right now, and I don’t want to get in the swamp.' ... Since then it’s only gotten swampier.”

Updegrove, author of "The Last Republicans: Inside the Extraordinary Relationship Between George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush," said Trump-type Republicans wouldn't respond to Bush criticism anyway.

"His influence in the party has waned," he said. "It's an entirely different party."

Bush still has a public policy life

Friends and associates said Bush has only withdrawn, mostly, from political life - not public life.

The former president does speak out frequently on policy issues, mostly through his work with the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. It houses the Bush Institute, a nonpartisan policy organization, as well as his presidential museum.

The former president and his wife appear at events devoted to subjects that animated his presidency, including education, immigration, and help for veterans and military families. Another frequent topic is "strengthening democracy, and advancing free societies."

"What he's wanted to do is to have the institute and the center focus on the issues that were important to him and Mrs. Bush when they were in Washington," said David J. Kramer, executive director of the George W. Bush Institute.

That also means the institute likes to avoid politics as much as possible, especially in these volatile times.

"A lot of things get very polarized very quickly," Kramer said.

Author, painter

Since leaving office, Bush has performed a more tradition role for former presidents: Book author.

A memoir of his White House years, "Decision Points ," came out in 2010. He also wrote a short biography of President George H.W. Bush entitled " 41: A Portrait of My Father ," published in 2014.

The younger Bush has also pursued a non-traditional pastime: Painting . Two books of portrait paintings have touched on Bush-era issues, veterans and migrants.

" Portraits in Courage: A Commander-in-Chief's Tribute to America's Warriors ," came out in 2017. Then came "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants," published in 2021.

None of these books include the word "Trump."

A little politics - in private

Bush also periodically comments on the news. After a private event in October, his office agreed to publicize his remarks about the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel .

"Don't be surprised if Israel takes whatever actions necessary to defend herself," Bush said at the event moderated by Updegrove. "It's going to be ugly for a while."

Over the years, Bush has hosted dozens of fundraisers for favored Republican candidates. This year's list has included Republican Senate candidates Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania and Larry Hogan of Maryland . He also has an upcoming event for Maine Sen. Susan Collins, who faces her next reelection in 2026 and opted to skip this week's RNC in Milwaukee to attend, among others, an event honoring the retiring director of her state's Potato Board.

An event in 2021 drew attention from Trump , as Bush headlined a fundraiser for Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, a GOP member of the congressional committee that investigated Trump's role in the Jan. 6 insurrection . She is also the daughter of Bush's vice president, Dick Cheney, who has criticized Trump several times over the years.

"Bush is the one who got us into the quicksand of the Middle East," Trump said in a statement that criticized the fundraiser.

Bush did not respond.

Higher approval

Bush's reticence to inject himself into politics has paid off in terms of public opinion.

His approval ratings are consistently more than 60%, well above what they were in his later years as president, noted Jared Cohen, author of "Life After Power: Seven Presidents and Their Search For Purpose Beyond the White House."

In the book - which is sold at the Bush museum bookstore - Cohen noted that Bush has prospered with public opinion even though his Republican successor, Trump, rejected many of his policies (and Democrats never approved him in the first place).

"He moved on from politics, and in an age when everything is political, that’s earned him respect." Cohen said.

For his part, Bush still likes to joke that historians are still debating aspects of "the first George W" - George Washington.

"Whatever the verdict on my presidency, I’m comfortable with the fact that I won’t be around to hear it," Bush wrote in the epilogue of his memoir. "That’s a decision point only history will reach."

Music and concerts, music and concerts | what to know if you’re headed to the minnesota yacht club festival, gwen stefani, alanis morissette and red hot chili peppers are headlining.

A stage and bleachers next to a river.

For the first time in a dozen years, St. Paul’s Harriet Island Regional Park will host a major rock and pop music festival, dubbed the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, on Friday and Saturday.

Headlined by Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the festival (which despite its name has nothing to do with yacht rock) is promoted by C3 Presents, an Austin, Texas, company that’s also behind Austin City Limits Music Festival, Voodoo Music + Arts Experience and the modern-day Lollapalooza. C3 was the largest independent promoter in the world until Live Nation bought a controlling stake in the company in 2014.

Organizers expect to attract more than 30,000 concertgoers each day.

While the Irish Fair of Minnesota calls Harriet Island home each August, music festivals have had a rough go on the site. The original Lollapalooza (back when it was a traveling festival) landed on the site in 1991, 1992 and 1994, but flooding forced the fest to move to the late St. Paul Civic Center in 1993.

Live Nation attempted to establish a new annual event, the River’s Edge Music Festival, in 2012. Despite big-name headliners Tool and the Dave Matthews Band, the festival didn’t attract enough paying customers to convince the concert promoting giant to return for a second year.

Here’s what folks headed to the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival need to know:

As of Wednesday afternoon, tickets were still available at a number of price points, starting at $135 for one day general admission (or $255 for two days) all the way up to platinum tickets for $925 ($1,395 for two days), which include a number of perks including free food and drinks, front-of-stage viewing and access to an air-conditioned lounge. See minnesotayachtclubfestival.com for details.

Many of the general admission and general admission plus tickets are sold out, but there are verified resale tickets available, some at lower prices than face value.

Getting there

There are two entrances to the festival. The main entrance is at Harriet Island Boulevard and South Wabasha Street, while the west entrance is on West Water Street between Bidwell Street and Plato Boulevard.

There is no on-site parking at the festival, but its website lists numerous downtown St. Paul parking lots that are a 10- to 16-minute walk from the site. Several Metro Transit buses stop a half-mile from Harriet Island. The rideshare drop off is at 49 E. Fillmore Ave. The festival promises “ample bike parking” located near the two entrances.

What is allowed on site

Feel free to bring: Small clutch purses and fanny packs (6” x 9” or smaller) with no more than one pocket, all other bags must be clear and smaller than 12” x 6” x 12”, empty hydration packs and reusable water bottles, strollers, frisbees, binoculars, blankets, basic cameras (no detachable lenses or other accessories), sunscreen in non-aerosol containers (3.4 ounces or less), personal-sized hand sanitizer and factory sealed Naloxone/Narcan kits.

What isn’t allowed

Pretty much everything you would think, including outside food and beverage, coolers, aerosol containers, umbrellas, chairs, wagons, skateboards, drones, fireworks and illegal substances.

Concertgoers must wear securely fastened wristbands that are available at the box office. Wristbands can be activated online to add an emergency contact and to use for cashless transactions (with a pin number). Wristbands that are damaged, lost or stolen can be replaced by the original purchaser one time only for $20. Patrons can leave and reenter at will up until 7 p.m. each day.

There is a guest services tent that has earplugs and a lost and found. Free hydration stations are located throughout the site. Lockers are available to rent for $25 each day or $48.50 for both.

Who is playing

Gwen Stefani sings on stage flanked by two dancers.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. There are two stages, with staggered performances that do not overlap.

Friday’s schedule includes: Gully Boys (1-2 p.m.), Harbor and Home (2-2:40 p.m.), Morgan Wade (2:40-3:40), Michigander (3:40-4:40), Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (4:40-5:40), Durry (5:40-6:40), Gwen Stefani (6:45-8), The Head and the Heart (8-9) and Alanis Morissette (9-10:30).

Crime and public safety | death of 4-month-old daughter of inland couple on lake havasu is under investigation.

day party on a yacht

The mother is Alyssa Wroblewski, according to a GoFundMe page established to raise money for funeral expenses. The father is Matthew Wroblewski, a Riverside police detective, the city said.

Tanna Rae Wroblewski is shown in an undated family photograph. The 4-month-old girl died during a day of boating with her parents on Lake Havasu on July 5, 2024. A GoFundMe post described it as 'the most unimaginable day of their lives.' (GoFundMe)

“Tanna Rae Wroblewski, our real-life angel, became an angel in heaven. We are beyond devastated, heartbroken; there are just no words,” the GoFundMe posting says. “Enjoying a family day on the lake turned into the most unimaginable day of their lives.”

The death happened on July 5. Anita Mortensen, a spokeswoman for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, said the infant was taken to Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment of a “heat-related illness” around 5 p.m. She was later flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Detectives are conducting an investigation, Mortensen said.

Authorities have not accused anyone of a crime.

The temperature around the time of the medical emergency was 117 degrees, down from the day’s high of 120 degrees, according to weatherunderground.com , and winds were blowing at 20 mph at the time. The average high temperature for that date and location is 110 degrees, the site states. The National Weather Service had issued an excessive-heat advisory.

Other circumstances surrounding the baby’s death were unclear on Friday, July 12. It wasn’t publicly known if the baby had a pre-existing medical condition, how the parents may have attempted to keep her cool and what the temperature on the boat was at the time.

A voice message was left on Matthew Wroblewski’s phone on Friday seeking comment.

The 2024 RNC ends Thursday: See the full schedule, how to watch and livestream

T he 2024 Republican National Convention resumes Thursday in Milwaukee for its final day after Wednesday saw Sen. JD Vance officially accept his vice presidential nomination after Trump tapped the Ohio lawmaker as his running mate earlier this week.

During his acceptance speech, Vance called on Americans to send Trump back to the White House and introduced himself to voters across the country.

"I pledge to every American - no matter your party - I will give everything I have. To serve you and to make this country a place where every dream you have for yourself, your family, and your country will be possible once again," Vance said.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

Wednesday also saw some of Trump's biggest allies, such as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott , and his son Donald Trump Jr. take the stage to make their pitch to voters across the country.

The convention is underway in the shadows of an  assassination attempt against Trump  at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend. Trump was injured in the attack, and a  rally attendee died  as he was trying to shield his family.

Thursday is the final day of the convention. Here's what you need to know, including the full schedule for the day and how to watch.

  1. How to Host a Yacht Party
