WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR SLYS SAIL.

Bring your Eticket from your confirmation email along with your 

Bring a reusable water bottle.

Food and alcohol are not permitted onboard the boats, we will all meet up at the club afterwards for a meal and refreshments.

The club have options for you including Meat. Seafood. Vegetarian & Vegan.

Just to be safe, bring a change of clothes for when we arrive back at the club should you have 'taken a wave ' during the sail.

WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR SLYS SAIL.

 If possible, wear a Navy Blue or White top to maximise quality photos of us all onboard on the day.

Please wear white-soled runners or boat shoes for your comfort, remember its a lovely walk out on Brighton Pier to get to the yachts in the marina.

 It's advisable to bring a warm top and a lightweight waterproof jacket should  you get chilly out on the water,   

    There is no visitor parking inside RBYC, but, there are many other options for parking around the Club, both free and paid, short or long stay. Young St, Grosvenor St and Chelsea St in close proximity all have free all day parking options. Please be aware though that these may be subject to change by the council, so please check all street signs before parking on the day. 

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY.

We meet at the far end of Brighton pier where you will be welcomed by one of our Shore Crew.

You will be pointed to your Crew meeting point and then will head off down the marina to your yacht for the sailing experience.

On board, you will be given a Personal Floatation Device (PFD, usually called a Life Jacket in the old days) and your Sailing Lifts Your Spirits skipper will give a Safety Briefing. 

 Then the on-water part of your experience really gets underway as you drop lines, clear out of the marina, hoist the sails, cut the engine and enjoying the carbon neutral journey on the water.

All too quickly, for most of you anyway, you’ll be back alongside and we all head up to the Yacht Club where dinner will be available and the opportunity to connect with your community.  There will be time for a some salty sea stories and a few words about Wellbeing ... after all, that’s why we invited you to join us :).

SUNSCREEN AND SEA SICKNESS

Make sure you apply sunscreen prior to arriving at RBYC and be prepared to reapply onboard in the unlikely event that we get wet in the waves. If you have a sensitive stomach or have experienced travel sickness in the past please see your medical practitioner or pharmacist for advice on the best preventative medication to take to ensure you have a great day on the water in any conditions.

POSSIBLE WEATHER IMPACT

Wind is a key ingredient in sailing and your Sailing Lifts Your Spirits experience may be impacted by too much or not enough! For everyones safety, comfort and enjoyment, we have the following wind guidelines   If the Bureau Of Meteorology issues a Strong Wind warning or above, we will opt out of sailing and enjoy an evening at the club with keynote speakers and lots of opportunities to connect with like minded people.

Business Description

The RBYC marina is conveniently located adjacent to the Brighton Pier. It includes a hardstand and a 235 pen floating marina with pens varying in size from 8 metres to 18 metres. All pens have their own power and water supplies. The dedicated Marina Manager ensures that the marina is kept in top condition. There is security lighting, locked-gate access and regular security patrols. Additional facilities on the marina include a mast hoist, bathrooms and rubbish collection. Pens are available for casual stays or annual leasing. Fees can be paid monthly.

A must see location for your next visit to Middle Brighton. Friendly service great food and coffee and views of the bayside that will relax you. I've been visiting this place and taking my social group here for almost a decade. Great fun.

We enjoyed a great lunch at the club on Monday, catching up with a few friends from our trip to Cape York last September. Our reserved table was located right next to the window so our guests could best enjoy the view. It is really nice to be addressed by name by the staff. Our orders were delivered promptly and the food portions were generous. Everyone enjoyed their dining experience.

Lovely lunch with my son & three grandchildren. Beautiful Caesar salad & burger & I had delicious Leek & mushroom croquettes for the second time in a week ~ yes theyre so good! Kids had burgers & nuggets plus ice cream with topping. Kitchen & Service as always was excellent. I love my Social Membership

Firstly your manager called me to see if we wanted to move inside because of the weather, which was a good move indeed. The table looked great and the food was really good and service top class. Another great lunch at RBYC. The staff are always friendly and super helpful. The food is great and the menu has something for everyone. I can't comment on what it's like to sit inside as we always go on a nice day and sit on the deck. This allows for the kids coming and going to the beach and for the grown ups to have a nice time with the spectacular view. We'll be back again soon.

We had dinner at the Yacht Club Thursday night. Our meals were very good and as usual the staff were brilliant. Riley looked after us and was efficient and cheerful, he made us feel very welcome

Had Lunch at the RBYC on Sunday - booked online & requested a table which honored. Table service was fantastic - the guy was professional, polite, friendly & knowledgeable regarding the menu. Drinks arrived quickly as did the fabulous meal. Couldn't fault the atmosphere, decor or great staff. Well done & keep up the good work.

We held an event for 20 women at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club yesterday. It was seriously THE BEST service we have ever experienced ( and we hold lots of events). Firstly their IT person Reilly was brilliant , he had a full understanding of their equipment and all the adaptors required to iron out the normal AV glitches ( This NEVER happens). We complied a list of the many and varied coffee orders, we were a bit late getting it in and assumed it would result in a bit of a wait but no , they arrived in the room in record time. The whole day ran smoothly ,and on schedule, the food was great, the staff were very courteous and couldnt do enough to help them Many thanks to the staff at the club you made my job so much easier

We enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary here on Saturday night...Every moment from the time we entered the restaurant was wonderful. From all the extremely friendly and efficient staff to the most delicious, fresh, well presented food . And of course the wonderful view of the bay. All up made a very special night out and we look forward to returning for our 35th Wedding Anniversary in 2024...

Beautiful meals yesterday Sunday, with my family. The snapper was absolutely gorgeous, soft & tender with a mornay sauce, peas, broccolini, swede & chive oil. We went for a casual Sunday lunch to celebrate my teenage son's birthday. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent, even hard to please enjoyed the food. Adults had cocktails and commented on their excellent quality. My other son's birthday is coming up and he already wants to go there again.

On Friday 1st March I organised our Gadding About Melbourne group of ladies to lunch at Brighton Yacht Club. It was a way for the group to catch up with each other for the year. Brighton Yacht Club offers a great atmosphere as well as great food and very good service. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was easy to chat.

AS ALWAYS, THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE SERVICE BY THE YOUNG PEOPLE YOU EMPLOY WAS EXCELLENT. BYC HAS BECOME OUR "GO TO" PLACE IF WE WANT A PLEASANT LUNCH.
