Guest Accommodation

Families will particularly love India thanks to her child-friendly setup. Built in 1982, She offers guest accommodation for up to 10 guests with a layout comprising a master suite, one double cabin and two twin cabins. There are 10 beds in total, including 1 king, 1 queen, 4 singles and 2 pullmans. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

The address, and all related details will also be sent to you via email and WhatsApp after you make a booking.

No. Alcohol, wine, champagne etc. is not allowed.

No. We do not serve alcohol on the yacht.

On-the-spot booking and payment is not possible. Advance booking is mandatory.

Morning and afternoon slots:  Book at least 2 to 5 days prior. Evening slots:  Book at least 5 to 7 days prior. Weekend slots:  Book at least 7 to 10 days prior.

You can also make a booking on the same day or 1 day prior.  It all depends on availability of the yacht you wish to book.  If at the time you decide to book, the yacht is available, you can pay and book it.

The total booking duration is 2 hours. In these 2 hours, the sailing duration is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes. So, 1 hour 30 minutes is the time you will spend on the booked yacht.

30 minutes are kept aside for travelling from the shore to the yacht and then after sailing, from the yacht back to the shore.

No. The minimum booking duration for sailing in Mumbai is 2 hours. The actual sailing time is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.

This is the recommended time duration for a good sailing experience overall. Less than 1 hour 30 minutes feels incomplete and more than this feels a bit tiring.

On small sailboats and yachts, we usually do not recommend you to book for 3 or 4 hours as it may make you feel a little dizzy. 1 hour and 30 minutes of sailing time is just ideal for a good sailing experience. However, you can book for longer duration at an additional cost.

Yes. There will be a trained and experienced sailor on the yacht to sail the yacht for you.

You will sail approximately 1.2 km to 2.5 km out into the open sea. You will not be seen from the shore from Gateway of India.

Knowing how to swim is not mandatory for sailing cruises in Mumbai. You will be given a lifejacket to wear.

You will get a beautiful view of the Gateway of India and Taj hotel as you begin. You will pass by the boats and yachts parked in the Mumbai harbour as you sail out into the open sea. The view of the shore from the sea is truly magnificent. You will get a view of the lighthouses (Sunk Rock light house, Dolphin light house, Prongs light house), structures built in the middle of the sea (Oyster Rock and Middle Ground) and if you are lucky, you may also spot dolphins!

For birthdays / anniversaries, we can decorate the yacht with balloons, get a cake and flower bouquet. Prices for the same are given below.

Balloon decoration:  Rs. 300 Cake (half kg eggless chocolate cake):  Rs. 700 Flower bouquet (approx. 10 roses):  Rs. 300 Flower bouquet (approx. 20 roses):  Rs. 500

You have to reach the sailing venue (Jetty No. 5) just 15 minutes prior to your booking start time.

For example, if you book the 4:00 pm to 06:00 pm slot, your reporting time will be 03:45 pm

You will get to go sailing even if you reach late by some time. However, please note that the sailing time is not extended beyond your booking end time.

We do not provide assistance with parking vehicles at the sailing venue.

There is a pay and park service in the lanes around Taj Hotel. You will have to find parking on your own and then walk to the sailing venue (Jetty No. 5).

Once your plan is finalised (decided which yacht you wish to book, date and time slot), you will have to make payment to confirm the booking.

Payment can be done via bank transfer (NEFT / IMPS), UPI, Google Pay, credit card, debit card and net banking. We will share our company bank details / online payment link with you via email or WhatsApp.

Once the payment reflects in our account, the booking confirmation and related details will be sent to you via email and WhatsApp.

More tickets going on sale for Cricket World Cup 2024 in NY, as resale prices near $15,000

Metro area cricket fans will have the opportunity Tuesday morning to buy previously unavailable tickets for matches in the upcoming ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup being held in New York in June.

That'll be a relief for cricket fans eager to see the first World Cup cricket matches ever in the U.S. The price of entry for some matches has soared above $11,000 on ticket resale sites.

More T20 Cricket World Cup tickets

Tickets for the India vs. Ireland match on June 5 and the USA vs. India match on June 12 will be available to the public starting at 10 a.m. on the website set up for T20 World Cup tickets. Those matches will be held at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in East Meadow, Long Island, the 34,000-set venue currently under construction.

The matches are among 51, in both the United States and West Indies, for which tickets will be available Tuesday for the June 1-29 tournament. Eight of the 55 matches will take place on Long Island. The finals will take place in Barbados on June 29.

The price for tickets for India vs. Ireland and USA vs. India is expected to cost $60 to $70 for standard-level tickets and as high as $200 for premium-level seats.

Huge demand for India vs. Ireland, USA vs. India

Even at the premium level, those prices are more affordable than those currently on offer on ticket broker sites like StubHub where the lowest price listed for India vs. Ireland as of Monday was $301 (minus fees), while the highest was $11,316 for a Section VIP Box.

For the USA vs. India game, the lowest price was $272, while the highest was $11,458 . StubHub's $3,473 in fees would push that to $14,790, according to the site.

Chris Tetley, the head of events for the ICC, said in the announcement of the new sales: “We are delighted to have worked with our commercial partners to be able to release these additional tickets to 51 matches to ensure that we are accommodating as many fans as possible at every ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 fixture. The demand has been exceptionally strong for matches at venues across both the West Indies and USA, so we encourage fans to secure their World Cup experience as soon as possible to be part of what will be a historic event.”

T20 World Cup schedule

Twenty teams will compete in the month-long tournament, showcasing the second-most-watched sport in the world, with a global estimated fanbase of 2.5 billion people, according to the 2023 World Atlas. That compares to an estimated 3.5 billion for soccer.

The World Cup cricket combatants will include 2022 T20 champion England, 2022 runner-up Pakistan and powerhouses Australia, India and New Zealand. The USA and West Indies national teams will also participate since they are the hosts.

According to the ICC, over 3 million ticket applications were received during the initial application period in early February before the general sale began on Feb. 22. Four matches have already sold out: the June 1 opener featuring the USA vs. Canada, the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan on June 9 , India vs. Canada on June 15, and the final in Barbados on June 29.

Along with match tickets, fans on Tuesday can choose from a range of premium private suites and individual food and beverage packages for all the matches at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium and venues across the West Indies.

NEW DELHI (AP) — Thousands of farmers protested in India’s capital on Thursday to press their demand for a new law that would guarantee minimum crop prices, after weeks of being blocked from entering the city.

They rode crowded buses and trains instead of their tractors to New Delhi after authorities barricaded highways into the capital with cement blocks and barbed wire. Police also banned use of farm vehicles as a condition for granting permission for the rally in the city. Participants were also barred from carrying sticks or swords to avoid clashes with police.

The protesters held placards demanding free electricity for farming. They contended that without minimum price guarantees for their crops, they would be at the mercy of the markets and that would spell disaster, especially for the more than two-thirds of them who own less than 1 hectare (2 1/2 acres) of land.

The rally, organized by the United Farmers Front, was held at Ramlila Ground, which is used for religious festivals, major political meetings and entertainment events.

Police also set a condition for the rally that no more than 5,000 people would participate, the Press Trust of India news agency said. The rally was scheduled to end later Thursday.

Chitwant Singh, a protester, said farmers didn’t earn enough to cover their costs. “The traders and middlemen take away all our profits,” he said.

The protests come at a crucial time for India, which has a national election in April-May in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governing party is widely expected to secure a third successive term. Farmers are a particularly influential voting bloc because of their numbers. More than 60% of India’s 1.4 billion people depend on farming for their livelihoods.

The farmers are also pressing the government to keep its promises to waive loans and withdraw legal cases brought against them during earlier protests in 2021. Several rounds of talks have failed to break the deadlock.

Separately, thousands of farmers have been protesting in Shambhu, a town about 200 kilometers (120 miles) from the capital, since Feb. 13.

Authorities have barricaded highways leading to New Delhi with cement blocks, metal containers, barbed wire and iron spikes to prevent the farmers from entering the capital. The farmers have brought bulldozers and excavators to try and push through.

On Feb. 21, clashes between farmers and police left one protester dead as the farmers tried to resume their march to the capital after talks with the government failed to end an impasse over their demands for guaranteed crop prices.

Police said 12 officers were injured after protesters attacked them with sticks and pelted them with stones.

The farmers paused their protest and have camped near Shambhu, close to the border between Punjab and Haryana states, as their unions engaged in discussions with government ministers.

They rejected a proposal offering them five-year contracts with guaranteed prices for certain crops including maize, grain, legumes and cotton.

Two years ago, tens of thousands of farmers camped out on the outskirts of New Delhi for months, forcing Modi to repeal new agriculture laws in a major reversal for his government.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, one of the farmers leading Thursday’s protest, said they did not want any violence and condemned the government for the massive security measures.

Protest organizers say the farmers are seeking a law that would guarantee minimum prices for 23 crops to help stabilize their incomes.

The government protects agricultural producers against sharp falls in farm prices by setting a minimum purchase price for certain essential crops, a system that was introduced in the 1960s to help shore up food reserves and prevent shortages. The system can apply to up to 23 crops, but the government usually offers the minimum price only for rice and wheat.

Both gold and silver prices recorded a dip on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, March 18, 2024.

Gold futures, maturing on April 5, 2024, stood at Rs 65,395 per 10 grams on the MCX, after recording a marginal dip of Rs 283 or 0.43 per cent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 65,542.

Similarly, silver futures, maturing on May 3, 2024, witnessed a dip of Rs 387 or 0.51 per cent and were retailing at Rs 75,419 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 75,650.

India cuts import taxes on EVs in win for Tesla’s entry plans

India will lower import taxes on certain electric vehicles for companies committing to invest at least $500 million and setting up a local manufacturing facility within three years, a policy shift that could potentially bolster Tesla’s plans to enter the South Asian market.

Companies must invest a minimum of $500 million in the country and will have three years to establish local manufacturing for EVs with at least 25% of components sourced domestically, according to a government press release on Friday. Firms meeting these requirements will be allowed to import 8,000 EVs a year at a reduced import duty of 15% on cars costing $35,000 and above. India currently levies a tax of 70% to 100% on imported cars depending on their value.

The policy change is likely going to pave the way for Tesla to enter India, as the Elon Musk-led company has been in talks with the government to lower import duties on its electric cars for years. The move also aligns with India’s goal to boost the adoption of EVs and reduce its dependence on oil imports, with the country setting a target of achieving 30% electric car sales by 2030.

The new policy “will provide Indian consumers with access to latest technology, boost the Make in India initiative, strengthen the EV ecosystem by promoting healthy competition among EV players leading to high volume of production, economies of scale, lower cost of production, reduce imports of crude oil, lower trade deficit, reduce air pollution, particularly in cities, and will have a positive impact on health and environment,” the Ministry of Heavy Industries said in a statement.

India’s Commerce and Industry Ministry said separately the firms that invest at least $800 million in the country will be allowed to import up to 40,000 EVs, with a maximum of 8,000 units per year.

Tesla has been looking to enter India for several years. The carmaker initially wanted to establish a local footprint in 2021. Musk later resisted the India launch plan until New Delhi allowed the company to sell and service imported cars in the country.

Tesla is expected to enter India by importing its EVs from China’s Shanghai, though it would move its manufacturing and battery plant over the next couple of years, BofA analysts wrote in a note late last year. The company is also estimated to launch a sub-$25,000 model — more affordable than its cheapest model in China (where Tesla sells cars priced between $32,000-33,000) — to cater to its Indian customers and take on incumbents, including Tata Motors and Hyundai.

“Net net, Tesla would be relevant for top 20-25% of PV mkt initially & assuming 30-40% EV shift here plus dominant share would yield 100-200K vols. Hence, it will likely still be long road for Tesla to garner scale volumes at this price point in India for its planned capacity of 500K pa,” the BofA analysts wrote.

Unlike the U.S. and other major automobile markets, India’s average car price is less than $10,000, and 70% of the cars sold in the country are below $15,000. Therefore, Tesla may use India as a manufacturing base to export its vehicles to Southeast Asia, the analysts estimated.

In September, India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said Tesla targeted to almost double its automobile component sourcing from India to $1.7-$1.9 billion in 2023 from $1 billion in 2022.

Alongside Tesla, Vietnam’s electric carmaker VinFast sees India as its new manufacturing hub. Earlier this year, VinFast, which is currently struggling in the U.S. and Canada, announced its plans to invest $2 billion in the country, with $500 million specifically to set up a 400-acre integrated facility in the Southern state of Tamil Nadu.

Lotus Cars, the sports car maker owned by China’s Geely, also entered India last year by partnering with a local importer and launching its electric SUV Eletre.

Even though the Indian government intends to attract foreign EV players by introducing friendlier import tax policy, the country is primarily a two-wheeler-driven market. It also has local carmakers Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra that often attempt to resist global players from expanding in the country.
