There are a large number of different factors that can affect the cost of renting a catamaran in the Seychelles. A few of these include the number of people , the duration of the trip, the season , and the size and model of the boat. In general though, renting a catamaran in the Seychelles can cost anywhere from €2320 per week .

Do you need to rent a catamaran with a skipper in the Seychelles?

No, in the Seychelles, you can rent a catamaran either with or without a skipper . However, if you plan on renting without a skipper, you will need to make sure you have the correct boating license before setting off on your trip, so make sure you research this thoroughly.

The water temperature stays fairly consistent year round, with the hottest recorded temperatures generally recorded in April at 29.44°C and the coldest temperatures usually recorded in July, when the temperature is around 26.11°C.

The only aspects of the Seychelles weather which are subject to great seasonal variation are the rainfall and the wind. In general, the Seychelles' wettest month is January, which usually sees around 17.53 cm of rainfall, and the driest month is July, which receives just 2.03 cm of rainfall. The wind speed in the Seychelles ranges from around 12.07 kmph in April, to around 27.04 kmph in August.

When is the best time to go sailing in the Seychelles?

Typically, it is best to visit the Seychelles during the dry season , which runs from May until September , as it is during this time period that you will see the best weather for nautical activities such as diving and snorkeling . Although the temperature is good all year in the Seychelles, the visibility for diving during the rainy season is typically much worse. We would generally recommend that you visit the Seychelles in either May or September to avoid the tourists and make the most of slightly lower boat prices .

The two hull configuration provides additional space for more people and more storage space both above and below deck. There is plenty of room for multiple cabins, living spaces, and even a kitchen or galley.

Often Catamarans have a trampoline netting in the space between the hulls where one can comfortably sunbathe or hang out under the stars.

Why sailing with a Catamaran is different

Catamarans design provide far better stability and rarely heel over. Unlike traditional mono-hull boats that can tilt and sway in rough waters, catamarans remain level and steady, allowing passengers to move around freely without fear of tipping over. Yacht Fuel is not included – the fuel tank will be full when your charter starts and you are responsible for topping off the fuel tank at the end of your charter. The price of the Comfort Pack varies by boat size and is a flat fee for bookings up to one week. A surcharge applies for bookings of 2+ weeks.

Which period is best to sail in Seychelles?

Seychelles has a tropical climate with strong maritime influences. The trade winds influence the weather by bringing drier climate and steady winds. It has a stable year-round tropical climate with temperatures rarely dropping below 24°C or rising above 32°C. It is followed by a dry and slightly cooler season from June to September when southeast trade winds prevail. Sometimes, however, it can rain also in the dry season.

North Monsoon (December – April) : This period is the dry season in the Seychelles and the wind usually blows from the northeast. Constant and moderate winds create ideal sailing conditions. The sea is calm and visibility is good. Southeast Monsoon (May – September) : This period is the rainy season in the Seychelles and the wind usually blows from the southeast. Although this period can bring rain, the wind can also create suitable sailing conditions. The wind can also be strong in this case, but it can often change direction. Trades (October – November) : These periods are transitional periods between seasonality. The wind shifts from southwest to northwest and is generally less strong than during the north monsoon or southeast monsoon.

We suggested leaving Mahé, where the capital is, until last, and instead starting with Praslin. This is one of the largest islands, and also has an airport, though not an international one. Arriving in Victoria, you can take a flight there, or go directly by boat (!).  

• This island is full of beaches with crystal clear waters and white sands, excellent for swimming. Anse Lazio for example, is wonderful for families with children as its waters are warm and without strong currents or seaweed. It is a very good spot for diving or snorkeling, so how about renting a boat with the necessary instruments already? If snorkelling is your thing, a trip to Saint Pierre Island is a must! Fauna and flora native to the region in abundance + unbelievable blue waters!
