A THOROUGHLY MODERN PROFILE: A sleek-lined roof, large side windows underlined with a natural teak louver – a trademark of the « Pilot Saloon » range – have been extended at the aft to optimize visibility and brightness aboard. The opening portholes allow for excellent ventilation. An elegant hull profile with 2 rectangular windows.

• 2 optional keel drafts are available: 2.10m and 2,50m
• An opening platform at the transom enables easy access to the tender garage.

AN EFFICIENT DECK LAYOUT: The sleek lines of the roof emphasize the yacht’s thoroughbred style. The uncluttered deck offers great visibility forward thanks to the flush deck hatches and the control lines lead aft to the cockpit. Several options of teak battens are available to match each owner’s use and style criteria.

A SAFE AND COMFORTABLE COCKPIT: The helm station is equipped with all necessary assistance for single-handed sailing: the oversized winches are accessible from helm station. A “German sheeting system” main sheet, control lines lead aft to the cockpit, a self-tacking track can be integrated (option). Two lockers and access to the tender garage at the helm station allows for easy access of the gear. Two retractable back feet have been designed to ensure more stability and maximum sailing comfort.

EQUIPMENT FOCUSED ON PERFORMANCE: Fully equipped with Andersen’s stainless steel winches, Harken’s Performance rigging and Dyneema’s running rigging. The Pilot Saloon 58 deck hardware is focused on performance and has been selected for its very high quality and efficiency. The 22 m mast guarantees efficiency and accurate handling. The 9/10 rig has wide angled spreaders and no running backstays.

INTERIOR LAY-OUT WORTHY OF WAUQUIEZ’ GREAT TRADITION: True to the genuine ‘deck saloon concept’ , the saloon is on one single level and enjoys optimal light. While sitting, the windows offer great panoramic sea views. The interior volumes have been optimized to offer amazingly comfortable living spaces. The saloon is equipped with reading lights and lighting chains under shelving. The handrails on sealing and along the settee allow for maximum safety on board.  The galley, located to port, features a great number of storage cabinets and all the comfort necessary to long journeys. The waxed teak used on all Wauquiez remains the dominant interior feature, while other materials (leather, stainless steel) give the Pilot Saloon 58 her thoroughly refined and modern style.

COMFORT AND SPACE: The owner’s cabin is large, with a lit cabinet; its ensuite bathroom features a separate shower. Very large hull portholes bring brightness, and wide opening portholes allow for great cabin ventilation. The guest cabins have all the comfort that one can expect on a great yacht. All beds are of great size and are fitted with HR mattresses and slatted bed base.

On Friday morning, part of the BAVARIA YACHTS team gathered to give her a fitting farewell. The sailing yacht celebrated its premiere at the boot Düsseldorf in 2012 and the almost 13 metre long yacht was built in the shipyard for just over 12 years.

Zurn Yacht Design, together with west coast yacht builder Marshall “Duffy” Duffield, is excited to announce that the tooling for Hull no. 1 of the Duffield-58 is near completion. The Duffield-58 is one of the latest designs from the ever-expanding portfolio of its Marblehead, Massachusetts based studio.

Duffield, who owns the renowned Duffy Electric Boat Co., came to Zurn with a vision of improving on an iconic West Coast trawler. A native of Newport Beach, California, Duffield wanted to offer quiet efficiency and energy conservation — and when he called on yacht designer Doug Zurn for his thoughts, the Duffield-58 was the result. “I wanted a traditional-looking boat that was proportionally correct and would still perform well while using much less fuel,” Duffield said. “My eye caught the name of an East coast designer named Doug Zurn, founder of Zurn Yacht Designs. His boats ‘looked right’ to me and he emphasized using modern, advanced composite materials for fast cruising and fuel savings.”

Duffield’s vessel will incorporate the West Coast style with interior decks that offer a 360-degree view, combined with a traditionally styled hull structure. With a relatively narrow waterline beam — a Zurn trademark — and a single Caterpillar C-18 -cycle engine set aft, away from the living space, the Duffield-58 will offer the ideal, quiet ride.

The vessel is a nod to that easy-going Southern California boating lifestyle, easily owner-operated and of a manageable size. Innovation is also a key factor, as Duffield Yachts is incorporating a low cost, low maintenance alternative to conventional systems, ensuring that the boat will require less maintenance and repairs over time. Along with its universal appeal, the vessel is designed with Zurn precision and an eye toward power and durability, ensuring that the Duffield-58 is sea-kindly and fuel efficient when cruising far afield.

“As we tool up the new Duffield-58 in preparation for her launch, we know that this vessel is going to have a universal appeal. We were able to apply our classic designs to the West Coast style and we love the results,” Doug Zurn said. “We also marvel at the Duffield work ethic, craftsmanship and attention to detail. They are wonderful to work with and I am certain that the end result will be a product of phenomenal quality.”

The vessel stands out for its speed and fuel economy and at 58 feet overall, with a beam of just over 16′ and a maximum draft of 3′ 6″, the Duffield-58 eases into any marina or anchorage. Adept and agile, it can also poke into almost any cove or shallow bay, while its cruising speed of 16 to 24 knots makes daylong, weekend or long term voyages easy to plan and execute. With a 20 GPH fuel burn at cruising speeds, there’s plenty of scope for travel and economy. There are numerous state of the art standard features, along with an array of options for individual customization.

The interior is LED lit and centers around the open-plan galley and sitting area. The nearby master stateroom is comfortably situated forward, with a queen size berth and en-suite head and shower. The VIP stateroom also has it’s en-suite head and shower, accessible by guests and third crew/children stateroom occupants for day use. Hull ports draw in abundant natural light and ventilation, with a focus on ease of movement and comfort.

Zurn yacht design introduces duffield-58 trawler.

Marblehead, Mass; March 2015 -Zurn Yacht Design, together with west coast yacht builder Marshall "Duffy" Duffield, is excited to announce that the tooling for Hull no. 1 of the Duffield-58 is near completion. The Duffield-58 is one of the latest designs from the ever-expanding portfolio of its Marblehead, Massachusetts based studio.

Duffield, who owns the renowned Duffy Electric Boat Co., came to Zurn with a vision of improving on an iconic West Coast trawler. A native of Newport Beach, California, Duffield wanted to offer quiet efficiency and energy conservation — and when he called on yacht designer Doug Zurn for his thoughts, the Duffield-58 was the result. "I wanted a traditional-looking boat that was proportionally correct and would still perform well while using much less fuel," Duffield said. "My eye caught the name of an East coast designer named Doug Zurn, founder of Zurn Yacht Designs. His boats 'looked right' to me and he emphasized using modern, advanced composite materials for fast cruising and fuel savings."

Duffield's vessel will incorporate the West Coast style with interior decks that offer a 360-degree view, combined with a traditionally styled hull structure. With a relatively narrow waterline beam — a Zurn trademark — and a single Caterpillar C-18 -cycle engine set aft, away from the living space, the Duffield-58 will offer the ideal, quiet ride.

The vessel is a nod to that easy-going Southern California boating lifestyle, easily owner-operated and of a manageable size. Innovation is also a key factor, as Duffield Yachts is incorporating a low cost, low maintenance alternative to conventional systems, ensuring that the boat will require less maintenance and repairs over time. Along with its universal appeal, the vessel is designed with Zurn precision and an eye toward power and durability, ensuring that the Duffield-58 is sea-kindly and fuel efficient when cruising far afield.

“As we tool up the new Duffield-58 in preparation for her launch, we know that this vessel is going to have a universal appeal. We were able to apply our classic designs to the West Coast style and we love the results," Doug Zurn said. “We also marvel at the Duffield work ethic, craftsmanship and attention to detail. The vessel stands out for its speed and fuel economy and at 58 feet overall, with a beam of just over 16' and a maximum draft of 3' 6", the Duffield-58 eases into any marina or anchorage. Adept and agile, it can also poke into almost any cove or shallow bay, while its cruising speed of 16 to 24 knots makes daylong, weekend or long term voyages easy to plan and execute. With a 20 GPH fuel burn at cruising speeds, there’s plenty of scope for travel and economy. There are numerous state of the art standard features, along with an array of options for individual customization.

The interior is LED lit and centers around the open-plan galley and sitting area. The nearby master stateroom is comfortably situated forward, with a queen size berth and en-suite head and shower. The VIP stateroom also has it’s en-suite head and shower, accessible by guests and third crew/children stateroom occupants for day use. Background: Bulevirtide is a first-in-class peptidic entry inhibitor for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis D virus infection. In July, 2020, bulevirtide 2 mg received conditional marketing authorisation by the European Medical Agency for treatment of chronic hepatitis D virus infection. We investigated the antiviral activity of bulevirtide in patients chronically infected with HBV and hepatitis D virus.

Methods: MYR202 (ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03546621 ; EudraCT, 2016-000395-13) was a multicentre, parallel-group, randomised, open-label, phase 2 trial. Adults (aged 18-65 years) with chronic hepatitis D virus infection, including patients with cirrhosis and patients who had contraindications to PegIFNα treatment or for whom treatment did not work, were eligible and were enrolled from four hospitals in Germany and 12 hospitals in Russia. Patients were randomly assigned (1:1:1:1) to receive 2 mg (n=28), 5 mg (n=32), or 10 mg (n=30) subcutaneous bulevirtide once per day with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF; 245 mg once per day orally) or TDF alone (245 mg once per day orally; n=30) for 24 weeks. Randomisation was done using a digital block scheme with stratification, consisting of 480 randomisation numbers separated into 30 blocks. The primary endpoint was undetectable hepatitis D virus RNA or 2 log 10 IU/mL or higher decline in hepatitis D virus RNA at week 24, which was analysed in the modified intention-to-treat population, including patients who received study medication at least once after randomisation. Hepatitis D virus RNA concentrations were monitored until week 48. Safety was assessed for all patients who received at least one dose of bulevirtide or TDF.

Findings: Between Feb 16, 2016, and Dec 8, 2016, 171 patients with chronic hepatitis D virus infection were screened; 51 were ineligible based on the exclusion criteria and 120 patients (59 with cirrhosis) were enrolled. At week 24, 15 (54%, 95% CI 34-73) of 28 patients achieved undetectable hepatitis D virus RNA or a 2 log 10 IU/mL or more decline in hepatitis D virus RNA (p<0·0001 vs TDF alone) with 2 mg bulevirtide, 16 (50%, 32-68) of 32 with 5 mg bulevirtide (p<0·0001), and 23 (77%, 58-90) of 30 with 10 mg bulevirtide (p<0·0001), versus one (4%, 0·1-18) of 28 with TDF alone. By week 48 (24 weeks after bulevirtide cessation), hepatitis D virus RNA concentrations had rebounded, with median changes from week 24 to week 48 of 1·923 log 10 IU/mL (IQR 0·566-2·485) with 2 mg bulevirtide, 1·732 log 10 (0·469-2·568) with 5 mg bulevirtide, and 2·030 log 10 (1·262-2·903) with 10 mg bulevirtide. There were no deaths associated with treatment. Three (9%) patients in the bulevirtide 5 mg group, two (7%) patients in the bulevirtide 10 mg group, and one (4%) patient in the TDF group had serious adverse events. Common treatment-emergent adverse events included asymptomatic bile salt increases and increases in alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase.

Interpretation: Bulevirtide induced a significant decline in hepatitis D virus RNA over 24 weeks. After cessation of bulevirtide, hepatitis D virus RNA concentrations rebounded. Longer treatment durations and combination therapies should be investigated.

Julian Nagelsmann soll Deutschland zur WM 2026 führen

Julian Nagelsmann hat seinen Vertrag als Bundestrainer der Nationalmannschaft der Männer vorzeitig bis 2026 verlängert und führt sie damit bis zur nächsten Weltmeisterschaft in zwei Jahren in den USA, Kanada und Mexiko. Das gab der Deutsche Fußball-Bund ( DFB ) am Freitag bekannt.

»Das ist eine Entscheidung des Herzens. Es ist eine große Ehre, die Nationalmannschaft trainieren und mit den besten Spielern des Landes arbeiten zu dürfen«, sagte Nagelsmann und weiter: »Gemeinsam wollen wir jetzt eine erfolgreiche Heim-EM spielen, dafür brennen wir alle. Danach freue ich mich gemeinsam mit meinem Trainerteam sehr auf die Herausforderung einer Weltmeisterschaft.«

Der DFB sprach von einem »starken Signal«. »Denn er steht bei vielen großen Klubs in ganz Europa auf dem Wunschzettel«, sagte Präsident Bernd Neuendorf. Dem Vernehmen nach gehörte dazu auch der FC Bayern München, der nach der Trennung von Thomas Tuchel auf Trainersuche ist.

DFB vollzieht Kehrtwende

Als der DFB Nagelsmann im September vergangenen Jahres verpflichtet hatte, sollte der Vertrag nur bis zur Europameisterschaft laufen. Über eine mögliche Verlängerung sollte sich erst nach dem Turnier verständigt werden. Der DFB-wollte damit möglicherweise auch die Lehren aus den Fällen von Joachim Löw und Martina Voss-Tecklenburg ziehen.

Obwohl die Vertragsgespräche mit Voss-Tecklenburg bereits kurz nach der EM 2022 begonnen haben sollen, unterschrieb die ehemalige Bundestrainerin der Frauen ihren neuen Vertrag bis 2025 erst kurz vor der WM in Australien – und schied dort in der Gruppenphase aus. Joachim Löw hatte kurz vor der Männer-WM 2018 einen neuen langfristigen Vertrag unterschrieben, um wenige Wochen später als amtierender Weltmeister in der Vorrunde zu scheitern.

Auch Julian Nagelsmann sprach öfter davon, dass ihm die tägliche Arbeit mit einer Mannschaft fehle, er sich aber in jedem Fall früh Klarheit erhoffe. Er erhöhte damit den Druck auf den DFB. Bereits vor den erfolgreichen Testspielen gegen Frankreich (2:0) und die Niederlande (2:1) hatte sich dann eine Kehrtwende angedeutet.

Der »Kicker« hatte davon berichtet, dass die Verlängerung an eine Erfolgsklausel für die EM geknüpft werden solle. Davon war in der DFB-Mitteilung zunächst keine Rede.

Kontinuität auf DFB-Spitzenposten

Zuletzt hatte bereits DFB-Sportdirektor Rudi Völler seinen Vertrag bis 2026 verlängert. Er soll maßgeblichen Anteil daran gehabt haben, Nagelsmann zum DFB zu holen.

Mit seinem großen Kaderumbau, dem Comeback von Toni Kroos und den zwei Siegen in den Testspielen war es dem DFB zuletzt gelungen, einen Stimmungsaufschwung vor der EM zu erzeugen. Das Turnier beginnt am 14. Juni mit der Partie gegen Schottland. Weitere Gruppengegner sind Ungarn und die Schweiz.
