About Super Yacht GITANA: Super yacht Gitana is a beautiful, 36 metre luxury Perini Navi sailing yacht built in 1989. She has a 7.6 metre beam and 5.8 metre draft, offering a cruising speed of around 12 knots.  Her 3 separate cabins accommodate 6 adult guests in greatest comfort. With the use of Pullman berths, she can welcome up to 9 guests sleeping as well as cruising.  She also has up to 7 superyacht crew members including the captain. Thanks to her 3.5 million Euros refit in 2007, super yacht Gitana has become a spacious yacht with sumptuous design, great material pallete, serene deck areas and most luxury amenities.  Latest safety systems are on board and a number of water sport toys are on hand to provide fun on the water for all super yacht charter guests.

Luxury crewed charter yacht GITANA is fully air conditioned throughout. This is a non-smoking vessel. GITANA´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 7including the captain, have separate quarters and companionway. Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

There are 3 luxurious cabins aboard GITANA with accommodation for up to 9 guests. The full beam master cabin has a queen size bed, sofa, flat screen TV with DVD/CD full home cinema system and his and hers ensuite. The VIP cabin has a double bed, a pullman berth, sofa, flat screen TV and ensuite. The Guest cabin has a double bed, a single bed, a pullman berth, flatscreen TV with X-box games system and ensuite. All cabins have individually controlled air-conditioning, full Satellite TV programs and CD/DVD player.

GITANA’S interiors are crafted in rich wood contrasted by dark leather and crisp charcoal and cream furnishings, creating a cosy and traditional ambience. There is a full home cinema system, a flatscreen TV, karaoke and CD/iPod stereo system and a 100” projector screen meaning the saloon can convert into a cinema. There is a separate dining section comfortably seats up to 9 guests.

There are two sunbathing area fore and aft, plus a seating area and outdoor dining space for 9. Additionally, the hydraulic swimming platform allows for easy access to and from sea and there is a wide range of watertoys on board.

How to book a yacht charter?

Our dedicated charter consultant will help you select the right yacht, based on your needs and preferences, plan your itinerary and help arrange all logistics before, during and after the charter.

How much is the crew gratuity (tip)?

A crew gratuity is customary but at the Charterer’s discretion. Usually varies from 10% to 20% of the charter fee, based on the charterer’s satisfaction.

What is the Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA)?

The Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) covers any running expenses while on board (e.g. transport, fuel, food & drink supplies, berthing dues, harbor charges, agency fees, equipment requested etc.). The APA is usually calculated as 30-40% of the charter fee, depending on the yacht. At the end of the charter, the captain will present to the charterer a detailed analysis of all expenses. Any APA not spent or any costs not covered sufficiently by the APA, will be settled between the parties at the end of the charter.

How is the charter rate calculated?

The charter rate, usually different for high and low seasons, is quoted per week.

For charters longer than a week, the charter rate is calculated by dividing the weekly rate by seven and multiplying by the number of charter days.

Charters lasting less than a week are usually calculated by dividing the weekly rate by six and multiplying by the number of charter days.

What support does OCEDA offer during the charter process?

We remain on hand throughout the charter to assist in any support required by our charterer clients such as organising an event onboard, booking restaurants, activities and handling any health and safety emergencies.

Oceda also can provide full support to the crew onboard via our agency team such as itinerary planning, the handling of all port formalities, provisioning and fuelling of the yacht.

What are the charter duration and booking lead time?

The charter duration depends on the yacht’s availability. A charter can last from 1 day (for some of the yachts) to more than a month, also depending on how long the charterer wants to charter. To ensure finding the perfect yacht for you we recommend that clients reach out to us at least 6 months in advance to the high season and up to three months in advance for off-peak season.

What are the costs the charter fee covers?

Under MYBA terms, the charter fee only covers the hire of the yacht with the crew on board. All additional expenses are covered by the chartering party. To cover such expenses an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is required to cover any provisioning, fueling mooring and legal fees. Any APA not spent or any costs not covered sufficiently by the APA paid will be settled between the parties at the end of the charter. The APA is usually calculated as 30-40% of the charter fee. The charterer should also consider VAT and potential gratuities to the crew for their decision on a yacht.

What kind of yachts are available for charter?

There is a huge selection of yachts available for charter with motor and sailing yachts ranging from a few meters to 90m plus. Depending on the needs of the charterer, in OCEDA we can find a yacht that suits your needs, whether that is one with a vast selection of water toys for a family charter or a classic sailing yacht.

What are the main charter seasons?

There are two main peak seasons in the yachting industry – summer and winter. The summer season spans from May to October with the Mediterranean and Northern Europe being the most popular choices, while the winter season starts in November through April with the Caribbean, Florida and the Indian Ocean usually being the location of choice.

A General Description of Sailing Yacht GITANA A

This sailing yacht GITANA A is a 36 metre 118 (foot) good sized steel ship which was crafted at Perini Navi and concieved by Perini Navi. Accommodating 8 guests and 4 crew, sailing yacht GITANA A was formerly named Gitana; Blue Narwhal Ii. The private boat has been brought about from naval architects Perini Navi Yacht Design. Perini Navi was involved in the interior design and styling.

Build & Design for Luxury Yacht GITANA A

Perini Navi Inhouse Yacht Design Team was the naval architecture company involved in the professional vessel design work for GITANA A. Her interior design was conceived by Perini Navi. Perini Navi is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. In 1989 she was actually launched with accolade in Viareggio and post sea trials and finishing touches was afterwards handed over to the owner who commissioned her. Perini Navi completed their new build sailing yacht in Italy. A moderate feeling is manifested with a total beam (width) of 7.59 m / 24.9 feet. With a 5.8m (19ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is created from aluminium. In 1998 further refitting and modernisation was additionally performed.

Installed with two MTU diesel engines, GITANA A can reach a top speed of 14 knots. Connected to her MTU engine(s) are twin screw propellers. Her total HP is 600 HP and her total Kilowatts are 442. Regarding bow thrusters she uses Berg.

“The Ultimes to me are the most technologically advanced and fastest boats that you can still go offshore with, at incredible speeds and at the same time a robustness and all round performance: 30 knots upwind on the ocean! So I think they are technically the peak of sailing at the moment,” says Salen, who nominates the giant trimaran Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, also known as Gitana 17.

Gitana 17 is a 32m fully foiling trimaran built to a Verdier design to compete in both crewed (by a team of six) and solo races and record attempts. Skippered by Charles Caudrelier, it has won the Rolex Fastnet Race , Transat Jacques Vabre and Brest Atlantiques.

“Gitana in particular, even though it’s not the most recent Ultime, has very good sailors who have constantly been evolving it so that at the moment it is the most optimised boat,” continues Salen.

There is a full home cinema system, a Flat-screen TV, karaoke and CD/I-Pod stereo system, and a 100” projector screen allowing the salon to convert into a cinema area. Next to the seating area and on the right-hand side of the TV, there is a refrigerator concealed within the wooden cabinets. There are two skylights above both the dining area and the salon. This is a beautiful additional feature letting in natural light in a creative and alternative way. Adjacent to the salon and dining area is the conveniently located day head. The full-beam master cabin has a queen-size bed, sofa, flat-screen TV with DVD/CD full home cinema system and ‘his’ and ‘hers’ separate en-suite facilities. The VIP cabin has a double bed, a Pullman Berth, sofa, flat-screen TV, and en-suite facilities. The Guest cabin has a double bed, a single bed, a Pullman Berth, flat-screen TV with an X-box games system, and en-suite facilities. All cabins have individually controlled air-conditioning, full Satellite TV programs, and CD/DVD player. There are two sunbathing areas, fore, and aft, with comfortable mattresses. The hydraulic swimming platform allows for easy access to and from the sea and there is a wide range of water toys on board ensuring that there is undoubtedly something for everyone. The sailing yacht GITANA is 118 feet of pure sailing splendor. She accommodates six to nine passengers in three staterooms. The master stateroom is the full width of the yacht, has a double bed and is classically designed and decorated in wood trim and paneling. Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
