Below Deck Season 6: Where Are The Cast Members Now?

Shivangi Sinha of Below Deck Season 6: Where Are The Cast Members Now?

Bravo’s ‘Below Deck’ is a reality television show that focuses on the crew members who work on a private yacht as they cater to the needs and demands of high-end clients who embark on lavish and exclusive charter vacations. The crew members must also deal with their drama, which often spills over into their work lives. The sixth season of the show follows its cast into the yacht named My Seanna as it sails in the stunning waters of Tahiti. Since the premiere of the season in October 2018, fans have followed their favorite cast members closely and have been curious to know more about them since it wrapped up. We have got all the details for you, so let us begin!

Lee Rosbach is a Published Author Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Captain Lee Rosbach (@captain_lee_rosbach)

The captain of the ship was a veteran face in the sixth season of the show. He managed to run the boat successfully and was able to tackle the interpersonal problems that came his way. As a captain, he had to make some hard decisions but it did not deter Captain Lee from coming back to the show for a couple of more seasons. Owing to his health issues, he had to take a break during the filming of the tenth season and he revealed he will not be returning to the show.

Captain Lee is a published author of ‘Running Against the Tide: True Tales from the Stud of the Sea’, a book he co-wrote with Michael Shohl. He is enjoying his time with Laura Monteverdi, his wife, and lovingly calls her “my bride” in all of his Instagram posts. He has confirmed that he will be doing more work with Bravo but the details are still unknown.

Adrian Martin is Focusing on Family Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adrian Martin (@chefadrianmartin)

The Chef on the cruise for Season 6 was Adrian Martin. He was well-liked by all other crew members because of his calm and composed demeanor and pleasant temperament. However, third stew Laura Betancourt, in one of her confessionals, mentioned Adrian passed some romantic advances and sexually charged remarks that made her feel uncomfortable. On the show, he apologized for his behavior when she confronted him about it. After appearing on ‘Below Deck’ for a single season, Adrian kept working as a chef in NYC and then moved to Saint Martin, where he grew up.

Following that, Adrian had been offering private dining experiences to his clients and had shared that he wanted to go on a tour all over the US. Interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Adrian picked up on his plans after 2021 and even worked on a couple of yachts during this time. In 2022, Adrian and his partner, Grace, had a daughter whom they named Poppy Eloise. From what we can tell, he is now settled in Oregon with his lovely family.

Kate Chastain is  a Proud Mother Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kate Chastain (@kate_chastain)

The fan-favorite, Kate, brought her usual flair and feistiness to the sixth season of the show as well. There were many people she head-butted with but that is what fans love to see. In August of 2023, she appeared on a show named “Couch Talk” with Captain Lee and they discussed the “biggest moments of the week”. She is a new and proud mother of baby boy Sullivan Cay and has over one million followers on Instagram. This successful influencer has found different ways to reach new heights in her career and there is no stopping for Kate anytime soon.

Josiah Carter is Living a Content Life Today

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Josiah Carter (@josiahcarter_)

The British steward brought his refined service skills and keen attention to detail to the yacht and formed a good relationship with Kate. He quickly became a fan favorite and won over many hearts with his funny but well-meaning comments. After he departed from the show, he expressed that he could come back to the franchise for one of the spin-offs but the plans did not materialize due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Josiah is currently the owner of an ethical clothing brand named House of XOXO and is also a famous Instagram influencer. He and his long-time partner adopted a puppy Spoodle in December 2020 and they named him River. In addition to the fulfilling moments in Josiah’s life, he got engaged to Michael Groves in February 2022 and the couple will be married very soon this year. It seems like Josiah is very content in his life right now, and the doors for coming back to the Bravo production are not closed for him.

Caroline Bedol is Leading a Private Life Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by @socrazysocaroline

Caroline’s entry into the show was quite promising but it was not an easy ride for her as she sustained a lot of minor injuries and got into some heated arguments during the show. Even though Kate and Josiah celebrated her leaving the show, fans could not help but wonder what she has been up to. Caroline has kept a low profile since leaving the show and revealed that the time she spent on the show was quite traumatizing and she would like to recuperate for a while.

In a Reddit AMA, she did say that she can think about returning to the show. She said , “I would have another go at the third-stew position! Only because they would literally never attempt to eff with me again haha”. She has picked up her interest in horse riding again and espouses her political beliefs boldly. It looks like Caroline is gradually healing and is paving the way for great things ahead.

Laura Betancourt is a Yoga Instructor Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Laura Betancourt (@laurabetancourt)

Laura joined as a stew to replace Caroline in the middle of the charter season. Her strong personality clashed with Kate at the beginning of her arrival but the two were able to figure out a friendship along the way. Laura also had a brief romantic stint with Ashton while they were aboard.

Post leaving the show after just six episodes, Laura is now working as a yoga and fitness instructor with many certifications under her belt. She even hosts online practice sessions for her clients, which include celebrities. She is currently living in Hawaii and is making her followers envious with pictures of herself in beautiful and underexplored locations. From what we can tell, Laura is either single or she has decided to keep her love life under the radar. Whatever the case may be, she has great things written for her in the coming years and she seems to be thriving.

Chandler Brooks is Focusing on Personal Growth Now

below deck season 6 yacht name

The bosun of the yacht, Chandler, was not a favorite member of the crew. They felt he was not performing well at his job and had a bad attitude. He landed in a lot of trouble with Captain Lee because of not adhering to his orders and poorly treating his deckhands. Many fans agreed with Captain Lee for firing him but a lot of speculation has gone around related to his departure and his whereabouts after the show. Even though his co-star Caroline, in an AMA, said that Chandler was fired because he told the production team he wanted to resign and was overwhelmed with the job, there is no proof of the same.

Since his departure, Chandler has continued to rise the ranks in the yachting industry and is in a loving relationship with Jamie Jason, a cast member of ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ season 3. Even though he is not present on social media, Jamie kept her profile public till a few years ago and it was evident that the couple were building a strong relationship while enjoying their respective careers and traveling. Chandler seems to have found some peace and stability in his life after the show, and better things are in store for him.

Ross Inia Keeps a Low-Profile Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ross Inia (@ross_inia)

Ross Inia joined the show as a deckhand but following Chandler’s untimely departure from the show, he was promoted to bosun. According to his crew mates, he was a better leader than Chandler, even though he was not the best. He gained a lot of love and liking from the fans of the show but Inia did not make a second appearance. In December 2018, following the season wrap-up, Inia was partying with a few friends in West Palm Beach, Florida, when he got into a fight and was reportedly arrested for disorderly intoxication and battery.

As per reports, Inia was charged with a couple of felonies but the charges were later dropped to misdemeanors when he entered a “not guilty” plea. According to Bravo, he said, “It was just me and a couple of mates having a night out. That’s pretty much all I can say. I can’t really elaborate on it. It was a big misunderstanding.” He has kept a low profile since then and frequently posts pictures with his son, Kai. On a personal front, he got engaged to his girlfriend, Rachel, in May 2021 and wants to spend more time in Florida to stay close to both his son and his fiance. Sadly, Inia’s father passed away in February 2022. Though he misses him every single day, Inia keeps his father’s memories alive in his heart.

Ashton Pienaar is Doing Community Work Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Yo-Yo Diet Recovery Coach (@ashtonpienaar)

Ashton survived a near-death experience in the show when his leg got caught in a towline but he was fortunately saved by a cameraman. He returned to the show for the next season, but it soon became apparent that he had a drinking problem which led to him being fired. After he left the show, Ashton turned his life around and is currently the owner of a fitness company called A P Elite. In 2021, he declared that he had been sober for a year and is making strides in delivering on personal and familial relations. He is not only helping himself but also providing support to people to lead better and healthier lives and it seems like he is meant to do even greater things.

Rhylee Gerber is an Entrepreneur Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rhylee Gerber (@thelifeofrhylee)

Born and brought up in Alaska, Rhylee joined the ‘below Deck’ crew as a deckhand. She did not get along well with many people in the show but always ended up in heated arguments with Ashton. She came back to the show for a subsequent season but has not made an appearance since then.

After deciding to leave the show for good, Rhylee went back to Alaska and started fishing professionally. She frequently posted about the daily ins and outs of her life and after the pandemic was over, she moved into a van and started traveling across the country. She was accompanied by her dog, Dolce, whom she lost to an unbeatable tumor in July 2020. She is currently an entrepreneur and is seemingly involved in animal rescue. She is a very successful influencer and is shining brighter than ever.

Tyler Rowland is a Digital Creator Now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tyler Rowland (@tyler.c.rowland)

With STCW and CPR certifications, Tyler made a good deckhand on ‘Below Deck’. Some sparks flew between him and Rhylee during the filming of the show but it did not lead to long-lasting relationships. After the show, he went back to working as a firefighter and has also become a digital creator. He has reclaimed his liking for adventure and frequently treks and travels to obscure destinations. He expresses interest in a lot of arenas like fitness, food, and activism. It is great to see Tyler being in his element and reclaiming his true self to achieve better.

Behind the scenes: Captain Sandy Yawn on the reality of filming Below Deck Mediterranean

Sandy Yawn, the coolheaded captain who has shot to fame on Below Deck has returned to the helm for season six, Below Deck Mediterranean. Speaking to BOAT International she opens up about her experiences of filming the hit US reality show shown on US network Bravo.

The opportunity for Sandy, 55, to first join the Below Deck series “landed on her lap” after an acquaintance recommended her to the showrunner five years ago.

Captain Sandy revealed that she was discouraged from joining the show but decided to pursue the opportunity anyway.

“Everyone was saying don’t do it, you’ll ruin your career and I was like ‘This just landed in my lap, I can’t say no to it!' I went to the interview and said if it happens, it happens, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I thought well I’m already a successful captain, I can always get another job.”

Luckily, captain Sandy breezed through the interviews and was asked to join the second season of Below Deck Mediterranean, replacing outgoing captain Mark Howard.

Despite initial warnings not to join, captain Sandy said she was never concerned about her own portrayal on the show.

“You can’t make someone look bad if they’re doing their job right, no matter how you edit it,” she said. “I’m a competent captain. I’m a woman so I’ve had to work five times harder than anyone else to get there. I'm there to do the job and the TV bit comes second," she said.

She admits that her first season on the show, which saw her take charge of the 47 metre Heesen superyacht Sirocco during a busy charter season in Croatia, was a “huge learning curve” in comparison to working on professional charters.

“When you’re from the charter world, you’re used to having the best charter crew on the planet,” she said. “And then you step on board Below Deck and the chief stew has no experience.”

Working with “green” crew is a key challenge in filming  Below Deck , she said. “When someone doesn’t have passion for the job or is just there to be on TV and hope their career is going to take off, that is hard for me. I don’t have time for it, and you can always tell – the camera never lies.”

One area that poses no challenges for captain Sandy is the logistics of filming the show. “I love the production side of it,” she said. “It’s all about logistics, which is what you do as a captain.”

The intense filming schedule squeezes 16 charters into a filming period of eight weeks. This means that two groups of guests will charter the yacht in a single week, giving the crew less than 24 hours to prepare the boat for the next charter.

“Charter means working 24/7,” captain Sandy explained. “We end charter and do the tipping thing, which we’ve always done, and then we start turning the boat around. The next day, the crew are all doing interviews and then we pick up charter again.”

The sixth season of Below Deck Mediterranean features 55 metre Benetti superyacht Lady Michelle as the main charter yacht.

Alongside chartering the superyacht, the Below Deck production also charters a second boat during filming to be used by the film crew for lunch breaks, as well as a large tender to ferry around cast and production crew.

Meanwhile, more than 60 hotel rooms are booked out to support the production while an average day’s filming will see around 30 people on board the yacht.

Captain Sandy is keen to emphasise the positivity of the show, which she says is “doing a great thing for our industry.” “It shows that there are so many jobs in the industry and that there’s an industry out there thriving.”

Entertainment

below deck season 6 yacht name

Bravo's Below Deck takes viewers behind the scenes of a luxurious life on the open seas, featuring the lives and drama of employees who keep uber-fancy yachts running for their interesting and varied clienteles. The reality series is entering a new season this week, and at the same time introducing plenty of new characters. Based on the biographies provided by the network, the Season 6 cast of Below Deck is pretty comfortable in their sailing skills.

The cast is a mix of familiar returning faces and exciting new additions, and it's sure to be an interesting season to witness. Captain Lee Rosbach told RealityBlurred.com back around Season 3 that he thought the Bravo original provided " a pretty accurate snapshot " of yacht life. "What happens happens and it’s all caught on film."

He also assured that there are plenty of aspects of the experience that shocked him — he perhaps didn't realize how much drama happened behind closed doors, even on a crew under his command. "Hell yes, I’m surprised," he continued. "I think one of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned since I started doing a series is that a captain who thinks they really, really knows what goes on with his crew all the time is fooling himself, because he doesn’t."

Even if a captain doesn't always know what's happening with their crew, veiwers are about to as the newest season premieres. Before that happens, let's get refreshed on old faces and introduced to the new:

Captain Lee Rosbach

below deck season 6 yacht name

Rosbach has spent more than 20 years sailing yachts , according to his Bravo biography, and is even writing a memoir about his experiences. He's appeared on every season of the show, and doesn't show any signs of giving up the helm.

Kate Chastain

below deck season 6 yacht name

Kate is another returning crew member from past seasons. According to her bio, the ship's chief stewardess has been working on yachts for more than 10 years . In addition to her ocean-bound adventures, she's also an entreprenuer who started a non-profit boutique in Florida .

Rhylee Gerber

below deck season 6 yacht name

Rhylee the deckhand is a new addition, and as her Instagram feed is private, it's hard to find too much out about her personal life. Luckily, her Bravo bio clues us into the fact that she's a native Alaskan with experience captaining vessels of her own.

Josiah Carter

below deck season 6 yacht name

Josiah arrives on the show as a steward , and after growing up on the coast of England, according to his bio, he is no stranger to the water. His Instagram shows that he's caught the travel bug, and enjoys a luxe lifestyle of his own.

below deck season 6 yacht name

Ross is another deckhand on the crew. He's a native of New Zealand, and has an adorable son who's often featured on Ross' Instagram feed. His bio says that Ross is a former professional rugby player who became interested in sailing after an injury ended his career, and taht yachting has allowed him to provde a comfortable life for his child.

Caroline Bendol

below deck season 6 yacht name

Caroline is a stewardess on the yacht this season, and though she doesn't seem to have much of a social media presence, her Bravo bio says she's always up for an adventure , and is a fan of the nomadic lifestyle.

Ashton Pienaar

below deck season 6 yacht name

Ashton is a native of South Africa who quit a desk job in search of adventure, and ended up at yacht training in the South of France. His sense of excitement for life seems obvious from that fact alone, and his Instagram feed is basically completely made up of beautiful spots around the world.

Adrian Martin

below deck season 6 yacht name

Adrian is the yacht's chef this season, and based on the qualifications outlined in his Bravo bio, the rest of the crew will be eating well. The site says he studied in culinary school for 4 years and trained in Parisian restaurants before hitting the open seas.

Chandler Brooks

below deck season 6 yacht name

Chandler is the yacht's bosun, which basically means he's in charge of the deckhands. His Bravo bio says he was essentially raised on this kind of lifestyle — his dad was a yacht captain — and he's attended sailing school since he was a young boy.

This cast of characters definitely sounds capable, and even pretty mellow at first glance. There's no doubting their skills on the yacht, but judging by the trailers for the upcoming season, there are plenty of hiccups that can come along with this kind of job, and viewers will be along for the ride until the boat docks for good.

Northern Sun: the yacht in Below Deck Down Under Season 2

northern sun below deck down under season 2

Below Deck Down Under season 2 explored the coasts around Cairns, the gateway to access the great barrier reef and the Whitsunday Islands.

And it’s hard to imagine a better yacht than the Northern Sun motoryacht to explore this iconic area. The Northern Sun is a 50.8m (now yacht) that used to be a vessel dedicated for ice exploration. The refit work took two years but was clearly worth it when we look at the result displayed in this second season of the Australian Spin off.

Although the Northern Sun is built by the Japanese Narasaki shipyard, it surely is a boat that fits Australian waters quite well and could delight anyone looking to explore the most rugged locations in style, whether they are polar or tropical.

Northern Sun is available for charter from $161,700 / week . Her latest asking price was $15,000,000 .

Here's Where the Cast of Below Deck Med Season 6 Is Now

Did the drama continue when the cameras stopped rolling?

preview for Here's What It Takes To Be On "Below Deck"

As if new crew members weren’t enough, Captain Sandy will be navigating the clear waters of Šibenik aboard the brand new luxury yacht, the Lady Michelle. Much like the Below Deck spin-off, Sailing Yacht , the cast spent their summer cruising through beautiful Croatia amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, however, fans are wondering what they’ve been up to since.

Sandy Yawn (Captain)

Captain Sandy Yawn is returning to the show in her fifth season, and while it seems as if she’s got her hands full this time around, it looks as if the drama continued after the cameras went down. Sandy continued to feel the heat from her shocking decision to fire former cast member, Hannah Ferrier in season 5 for prescription drug possession. In October 2020, Sandy and Hannah came head-to-head on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! Luckily for Captain Sandy, she’s got quite the support system. The Below Deck star remains happily together with her girlfriend of nearly 3 years, Leah Rae Shafer. Sandy was spotted attending the America’s Got Talent auditions in Pasadena, California back in March in support of Leah, who just so happens to be a singer.

Malia White (Bosun)

Malia White is also returning for her second season on Med Sea and while she won’t be partaking in any boatmance this time around, her relationship with now ex-boyfriend, Tom Checketts, came to an end last fall . This made for the perfect opportunity to venture off to the Caribbean, where the Below Deck star went to master her yachting skills just in time for a major career move. Malia later embarked on a journey through the Atlantic Crossing . The star documented her experience on Instagram, which began back in April after she revealed to fans that she was, “happy to be doing my first Atlantic Crossing!”

Matthew Shea (Chef)

Matthew Shea is stepping aboard the Lady Michelle along with his stellar culinary skills as this season's chef. While Shea keeps quite a low profile online, he’s stirring up a lot of drama as fans suspect he may not make it too far into the season . Although his fate on Med Sea remains up in the air, Matthew Shea certainly carried his gourmet talents off-screen following the season's end. Shea has continued his efforts as a private chef throughout the U.S, and with a celeb client list that includes Hugh Jackman and Rupert Murdoch, there’s no denying his expertise. Earlier this month, Matthew shared a post from his layover in Saint Augustine, Florida, eluding to fans that he may make it past the first charter after all.

Katie Flood (Chief Stewardess)

Katie Flood has over six years of yachting experience, so when it comes to her ability to keep the Lady Michelle crew in check, it’s clear Captain Sandy doesn’t have much to worry about. Katie officially left Croatia in November 2020 after filming season 6, however, she wasted no time before jet-setting across the globe. Katie, who doesn’t appear to have a boyfriend, went on to live her best single life in Mexico before venturing down to Costa Rica, Panama, and The Virgin Islands. Today, Katie resides in Alaska , where she is documenting her very own take on a colder version of a hot girl summer on her Instagram.

Lexi Wilson (Stewardess)

Lexi Wilson is certainly going to be stirring up some highly anticipated drama as she reveals she might be quitting the show mid-season 4. During the season 6 trailer, Lexi, who is joining the cast as a second stewardess, feuds with chief stew, Katie Flood, to the point of no return. “I’m like, leaving,” she says before calling home to tell her mom she’s “quitting the boat.” Wilson, who reigned from the Bahamas prior to her move over to the United States, has a pageant background that keeps her both glamorous and disciplined. As for Lexi today, the star prefers to keep things private as fans have noticed she mostly stays off of social media. While we don’t know too much about Lexi just yet, it’s clear she’ll be rocking the yacht this upcoming season.

Courtney Veale (Stewardess)

Courtney Veale is set to rock the boat this season after her wild ways get the best of her. Following her time filming the show in Šibenik, she traveled to an array of countries including Spain, St. Thomas, and the Maldives, where she would work yachting up until her move back to Wales. Courtney, who is from North Wales , is currently single, however, she finds herself hooking up with someone aboard the Lady Michelle. Now, as Below Deck Med Sea season six is set to air, Veale returned back to Dubrovnik, Croatia just in time for its premiere, Aperol spritz in hand and all.

David Pascoe (Deckhand)

David Pascoe is bringing his Italian flair to season 6, and fans can’t wait. Pascoe has experience working on motor yachts as big as 55 meters, however, his passion wasn’t always to be out at sea. His love for videography and photography quickly landed him in the world of luxury boating, and David Pascoe has never looked back. The Below Deck cast member currently resides between his hometown of Devon and the French Riviera, where he works in yacht management. While he might have to get down and dirty as this season’s deckhand, David is no stranger to wild rides. The former lifeguard is an avid surfer , and he’s been getting up to all sorts of surfing fun in Bali as he readies for the premiere of the new season.

Lloyd Spencer (Deckhand)

Lloyd Spencer spiced up the season 6 trailer with his humor and thirst for adventure. Much like his fellow Med Sea co-stars, the deckhand stayed behind following the season wrap-up to explore more of Croatia , including the Kornati Islands. As he continues to expand his skill set when it comes to yachting, Lloyd is upping the ante by becoming a certified sea rescuer. Spencer shared a photo on Instagram earlier this month sharing details regarding his journey to becoming the first mate during his sea safety and survival training. The star received praise from his fellow co-star, Malia White, who shared her support in the comments saying, “So proud of you Lloydo!”

Mzi ‘Zee’ Dempers (Deckhand)

Mzi Dempers, who goes as “Zee,” is certainly set to be the breakout star of this season. While his smile is worth a million bucks, his laugh is the true winner when it comes to his beaming spirit. Luckily for Mzi, his experience with yachting runs deep as his two brothers also work in the yachting industry as a Captain, and Chief Officer, says Bravo. After filming season six of Below Deck , Mzi returned back to his hometown of Western Cape, South Africa , where he’s spent quite a bit of time at Clifton 4th Beach. The deckhand reunited with his friends and family following months of them being in quarantine, and is readying the premiere of his debut season.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Complete Guide: Updates, Cast, Seasons

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

When Below Deck sailed onto Bravo in 2013, it was a hit with fans. It quickly spawned several spin offs. Below Deck Mediterranean debuted in 2013. In February 2020, Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered.

It followed the lives of “yachties” working on a 177-foot sailing yacht called Parsifal III. This luxurious vessel cruised the Ionian Sea. If you are a newbie, or just brushing up on this franchise, this Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide has everything you need.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Cast Members

Captain Glenn Shephard has been at the helm since the series debuted . He is relaxed until pushed to the limit. During Season 2, Captain Glenn assembled a core team that returned for multiple seasons.

During Season 2, Gary King served as chief officer, and Colin MacRae was the chief engineer. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher also joined the crew. Chef Natasha De Bourg , who had a Michelin-star rating, left after the second season. The guests may have loved her food, but Daisy was critical of her skills.

Chef Ileisha Dell took over the galley during Season 4. She prepared an elaborate, and time-consuming, 10-course meal. Chef’s kiss!

Memorable Moments

There have been plenty of fireworks on this franchise. And we have it all in this handy Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide. During Season 1, Chef Adam Glick and chief stew Jenna MacGillivray hit it off. Their PDA-filled “boatmance” turned off their fellow crew members.

There was baby drama after Season 2 when second stew Dani Soares announced that she was pregnant with Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux’s child. Jean-Luc requested a DNA test , which confirmed he was the father of Dani’s daughter.

And Gary participated in too many romances. During Season 2, he romanced both deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore .

Then Daisy and Gary had sex between Seasons 3 and 4. During Season 4, Daisy also hooked up with Gary’s buddy, Colin. Yet Gary continued to flirt with Daisy. Season 4 became awkward in a hurry!

Gary was also involved in another romantic entanglement with stew Mads Herrera . But she locked lips with deckhand Alex Propson , too. Season 4 absolutely delivered!

Add in some nautical accidents, too. Captain Glenn hit the dock twice during Season 2. And during Season 3, a hazardous overnight squall put everyone in danger.

All in all, there was plenty of excitement aboard Parsifal III.

Shortly after Jamie returned to the deck crew, she fell ill as well.

5 Kyle Dixon

A former British soldier, Kyle worked as a traveling bartender before he decided to work to transition to a career on ocean vessels. Kyle first joined Below Deck season 4 midway through the season, as a replacement deckhand.

Initially charismatic and charming, Kyle proved to be a valuable asset to the crew of Valor.

4 Chris Brown

Below deck season 5.

Captain Lee eventually had enough and fired Chandler, promoting Ross to bosun due to his experience (via Bravo .) Ross impressed Captain Lee with his hard work but was never brought back for another Below Deck charter.

According to In Touch , Ross had a run-in with the law. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office booking blotter records obtained by In Touch , Ross was charged with one count of battery on an officer, one count of disorderly intoxication in a public place causing a disturbance, and crimes against a public servant.

All charges against Ross were eventually dropped.

1 Shane Coopersmith

Below deck season 8.

Bravo's Below Deck season 8 featured deckhand Shane Coopersmith , and was rife with drama, thanks to the crew and the impending COVID-19 pandemic. The public health crisis added extra tension when it came to the crew and their relationships on and off the boat. Shane was the most relaxed member of the deck crew. While the rest of the crew were seen working hard, Shane was often seen relaxing and even got caught taking naps during his workday . Nonetheless, Shane tried his best and would shine occasionally, but it was not enough for Captain Lee. The final straw came when Shane slept through an alarm he set for an early shift on the ship.

The 8 Least Memorable Below Deck Franchise Bosuns, Ranked

  • Forgettable bosuns on Below Deck faced personal and professional challenges that overshadowed their roles on the show.
  • Leadership skills and management style are crucial for bosuns on Below Deck, as they navigate high-pressure situations during charter seasons.
  • Interpersonal conflicts, romantic entanglements, and lack of communication contributed to some bosuns being considered forgettable in the franchise.

Below Deck follows the crew of a luxury yacht during the charter season, and some of the bosuns onboard have been forgettable. As one of the best reality TV shows , Below Deck showcases the challenges and dynamics of working in the high-pressure environment of the yachting industry. One of the critical roles featured on the show is the bosun, short for boatswain. A bosun is a senior crew member responsible for overseeing the deck crew and ensuring that all exterior aspects of the yacht are maintained and operated smoothly.

The bosun typically reports to the first mate or captain and plays a crucial role in the overall operation of the yacht. They are often experienced sailors with a strong understanding of navigation, seamanship, and safety protocols. In Below Deck season 11 and beyond, the bosun is usually a central figure, as their leadership and management skills are tested in handling various challenges that arise during the charter season. However, some bosuns didn't rise to the occasion for different reasons. Who are some of the most forgettable bosuns from the Below Deck franchise?

Kelley Johnson

Below deck seasons 2 and 4.

Kelley Johnson was a deckhand in Below Deck season 2 and the bosun in season 4. He initially gained attention on the show due to his background as a former Marine. He brought a disciplined and focused work ethic to his role on the yacht. As a deckhand, he demonstrated competence in handling various tasks and showed potential for leadership.

However, during his tenure as a bosun in season 4, Kelley faced challenges that may have contributed to his perception of a forgettable bosun . One notable incident during Kelley Johnson's time as a bosun involved a romantic relationship with Jennice Ontiveros, which led to personal and professional complications on the yacht. This relationship dynamic and other interpersonal conflicts within the crew overshadowed Kelley's performance as a bosun and contributed to the perception that he was forgettable in the role.

Aleks Taldykin

Below deck seasons 1 and 2.

Aleks Taldykin appeared as a deckhand in season 1 and later returned as a bosun in season 2. Taldykin's time as a bosun was characterized by mixed reviews and various challenges. While Aleks had the opportunity to showcase his leadership skills as a bosun, his tenure on the show didn't leave as lasting an impression as some other cast members. Alek's interactions with other crew members weren't as dramatic as some of his peers.

While Aleks was responsible for overseeing the deck crew and managing the yacht's exterior operations, his performance simply didn't stand out. He had relationships with cast members like Eddie Lucas, Kelley, and Kat Held, but these professional relationships weren't filled with drama. Overall, Aleks was pretty forgettable.

Ross McHarg

Below deck season 10.

Ross McHarg joined Below Deck season 10 as a bosun, and he encountered trouble during his time on the show. While he worked well with the crew members in his department, his suspicious and flirtatious behavior raised concerns. Despite enjoying working with Ross, Captain Lee Rosbach and Captain Sandy Yawn couldn't overlook the drama he was involved in.

One of Ross's significant storylines in season 10 was his boatmance with deckhand Katie Glaser . Their relationship faced challenges due to Ross's cheating and lack of respect towards Katie. He was flirty with other crew members and women outside the crew, causing tension and drama. Ross's behavior wasn't only noticed by viewers and the show's makeup artist, Samantha Suarez. She accused him of making inappropriate comments towards her during a car ride. Luckily, Ross didn't return for Below Deck season 11 and has become a forgettable bosun.

Chandler Brooks

Below deck season 6.

Chandler Brooks initially started as the first mate on the yacht, overseeing the deck crew and assisting Captain Lee. However, his performance as first mate was abysmal. Despite the initial challenges, Chandler was later promoted to bosun during the season, replacing Ross Inia. However, his shortcomings continued to affect function onboard, leading to frustration among the crew members.

One of the notable storylines involving Chandler Brooks on Below Deck season 6 was his strained relationship with the crew, particularly with chief stew Kate Chastain. His lack of communication and leadership style created tension and conflict within the crew, impacting their ability to work effectively. After just one season, he's become one of the least memorable bosuns from the show.

Paget Berry

Below deck sailing yacht season 1.

Paget Berry was the bosun aboard Parsifal III sailing yacht in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. One of the main plot points involving Paget on the show was his romantic relationship with fellow crew member Ciara Duggan, who worked as a deckhand. The couple's relationship was a significant focus throughout the season, with their interactions and dynamics often playing out on camera. While Paget and Ciara are no longer together, watching their romance unfold onscreen was somewhat entertaining.

Paget's storyline as a bosun might not have been as dramatic or attention-grabbing as some other cast members on the show. While his relationship with Ciara Duggan was a central focus, there wasn't a lot of drama on which to focus. After his time on the show, he was left as a forgotten, one-season cast member.

Lewis Lupton

Below deck adventure season 1.

Lewis Lupton was featured as a bosun on Below Deck Adventure season 1, following the crew of the luxury yacht Mercury as they navigate the challenges of the charter season. Lewis's role as bosun was crucial, but he wasn't a memorable crew member. He hasn't returned to the franchise since the initial season of Below Deck Adventure.

Captain Kerry saw potential in Lewis, but his time on the show was controversial. He was involved in drama involving fellow crew members, including Kyle Dickard. Kyle's unprofessional behavior, including flirting with a stew in front of charter guests and threatening violence, led to his resignation. Lewis's involvement in the drama sparked mixed reactions. Overall, he only appeared in one season and wasn't very memorable.

Below Deck Season 5

EJ Jansen appeared as a bosun in season 5. He joined the crew as a temporary replacement for bosun Kelley, who left the boat temporarily to attend to a family emergency. As a temporary bosun, he had big shoes to fill, stepping into a leadership role and managing the deck crew in Kelley's absence. While EJ was up to the task in many ways, he was also forgettable.

One of the most memorable aspects of Jansen's time on the show was his interactions with the rest of the crew, particularly with chief stew Kate. Their dynamic included moments of tension and understanding. Unfortunately, partially due to his short stint as bosun, he wasn't as memorable as other crew members on Below Deck. He only appeared in one season, and Kelley also didn't return.

Bryan Kattenburg

Below deck mediterranean season 1.

Bryan Kattenburg's appearance on Below Deck Med stirred controversy and made the show more captivating. Unfortunately, he was forgotten. As the first bosun of the luxurious mega-yacht around the Greek Islands, Kattenburg was introduced as a skilled leader who embraced the "yachtie lifestyle" and prided himself on getting along with everyone.

However, his clashes with crew members, including Jen Riservato, who openly expressed her dislike for him, painted a different picture. Fans criticized Bryan, accusing him of sexism, arrogance, and aggressiveness toward his crew. Despite acknowledging that reality TV often amplifies drama, Bryan admitted to being portrayed as the bad guy. Luckily, Bryan has been largely forgotten since his time in the Below Deck franchise.

When does Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 premiere?

Gary King on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 has been on fans’ minds since the end of the explosive Season 4 reunion.

There was a major rift between Colin MacRae, Daisy Kelliher, and Gary King that left fans wondering what would happen next with the dream team.

The anticipation for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 was heightened after sexual misconduct allegations against Gary broke last summer, and he was removed from BravoCon.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans will soon have the answers to some burning questions about Season 5 as the premiere nears.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Glenn teased the next season of the sailing show would hit Bravo airwaves this summer, but we have narrowed it down more.

When does Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 premiere in 2024?

Below Deck, Season 11 has entered the back half of the season, and we are closer to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5. Based on the mid-season trailer for Below Deck, the Season 11 finale will air on Monday, May 20.

That means Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht should premiere on Monday, June 3. The reason for the two-week break will be for one of two reasons.

One is a Below Deck Season 11 reunion that will air on Monday, May 27. At this time, we don’t know if a reunion will happen, but fans shouldn’t get their hopes for a reunion. Below Deck reunions seem to be a thing of the past.

If there isn’t a Below Deck reunion, Below Deck Sailing Yacht will likely still air on June 3 because Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. Odds are Bravo won’t air the premiere of a new season on a holiday.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Captain Glenn Shephard (@capt_glennshephard)

This means that in less than two months, Below Deck Sailing Yacht will be back on the air.

When will a Below Deck Sailing Yacht trailer drop?

While we wait for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiere date, Bravo should be giving fans a trailer for Season 5 in the next couple of weeks. Bravo tends to share more cast news and a teaser for new seasons about 4 to 6 weeks from the premiere date.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans can definitely expect a trailer before the end of April. Along with a teaser, we will learn about the cast or, instead, what we don’t already know.

Spotted filming in Ibiza! by u/Successful-Will-95 in belowdeck

Captain Glenn, Daisy, and Gary are all back for another stint on the Below Deck spin-off, as photos from filming last summer were leaked. The picture was revealed before the allegations against Gary, so it’s unclear as of now just how much Below Deck Sailing Yacht will portray him.

Are you ready for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo. Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Peacock.

With some truly unique features including a cigar lounge and quirky 1920's interior theme, The Wellington  (also known as the Wellesley) is one of the most impressive yachts ever to feature on Below Deck Mediterranean.

Virtual Tour inside superyacht The Wellington (aka The Wellesley)

The yacht was launched in 1993 by prestigious Dutch shipyard Oceanco.  A complete refit in 2016 ensures she remains modern, fresh and is equipped with all the latest facilities and technology to ensure a relaxed yacht charter vacation .

She is the perfect host for the new season of Below Deck Mediterranean, as Captain Sandra Yawn explains in the video below. She is accompanied by Bosun Malia White and Chief Stewardess Hannah Ferrier as they give a tour of the yacht.

What's the real name of the below deck mediterranean season 5 yacht.

For the purpose of the show, the yacht in Below Deck Med Season 5 is called 'The Wellington.' In real life, the charter yacht is actually 'The Wellesley'. Often the names of the yachts on Below Deck will be changed; read our article  'Below Deck Yacht Real Names and Cost to Rent' for more information.

Great Gatsby-style Interiors

As you can see from the virtual tour, the yacht's interiors are seriously stunning.

They have been created by world-renowned designer Donald Starkey, and the Art Deco theme is reflected across all areas of the superyacht.

The yacht's main salon can be found on the upper deck. An elegant nameplate greets guests when they step inside via the aft deck, and black and white photos on the wall add some character to the living space.

A color palette of light gray and cream creates a soothing ambiance, while wide windows let in plenty of light and air during the day. On the forward wall, a large TV screen with a range of on-demand movies allows the space to function as a movie theater.

Forward of the main salon is the formal dining salon, which seats up to 10 guests.

The Club Lounge

guests who enjoy the finer luxuries in life will make great use of superyacht the wellesley club lounge where they can drink scotch as they cruise mallorca

On the bridge deck above, the yacht's classic club lounge is a beautiful and unusual touch not often seen on yachts. The salon has a timeless theme, with leather seating, a warm coffee color palette and noir photographs depicting historical icons smoking.

The piece de resistance is a bespoke, glass-encased humidor to port. It showcases a huge variety of vintage cigars, and is flanked either side by decadent whiskey cabinets with snakeskin embossing and crystal glasses.

The space is more intimate than the main salon below, and benefits from an entertainment system and small study space.

Accommodation

The motor yacht offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins.

A master cabin on the owner’s deck offers incredible views, a king-size double bed and a walk-in closet. A small vanity and bijou lounging area ensures the principal charter guests are totally catered to.

Adjoining the master cabin is a decadent en-suite finished in gold-veined black marble with a sit-down shower and his and hers sinks. Not including the en suite and walk-in closet, the master suite spans 40 square metres.

Close to the Owner's cabin, the nanny’s cabin is also conveniently located on this deck. It features twin beds and ensuite bathroom.

The remaining cabins are situated on the lower deck and include a 30sqm full-beam VIP Cabin with king-size double bed, a spacious walk-in closet and a generous bathroom en suite including a separate shower and a separate head.

There is a Queen- size cabin to Starboard and Twin cabin to Port; both benefit from ensuite facilities.

Sundeck pool with waterfall feature

The yacht has one of the largest volumes of open deck space for a yacht of her size class, and one of the favorite spot while on charter is the sundeck.

Here, a large pool offers the perfect spot for lying back and soaking up the sights. It has an innovative 'spillpool' feature, with a waterfall that feeds fresh water into the tub.

As ever, we can expect to see the yachties from Below Deck Med enjoying the jacuzzi to the fullest after big crew nights out!

As well as the pool, the sundeck also boasts a large alfresco dining arrangement, a variety of sunloungers and a barbecue.

Outdoor barbecue

The Wellington is one of the few Below Deck yachts to feature an alfresco barbecue grill on deck. We're keeping our fingers crossed that new chef Kiko Lorran will be putting it to the test and whipping some gourmet delights on the barbecue.

Ample alfresco areas including generous beach club

Guests on Below Deck Mediterranean will find no shortage of places to enjoy the sunshine on board the Wellington. As well as her sundeck, she also has a large lounge area on her upper deck aft, which is adjoined by a  sunpad spread.

There is an alfresco dining set-up on her main deck aft, where guests can enjoy their meals while still feeling connected to the sea and their surroundings.

The finishing touch is the beach club, which is a welcome retreat where guests can sit back and relax in the shade or bask in the sun on the swim platform.

The yacht has an excellent selection of water toys and accessories, which includes Seabobs and Jet-skis. All of these can easily be accessed via the swim platform, and will ensure hours of fun splashing in the water.

Why Below Deck 's Familiar New Stew Is Already Starting Drama on Season 11

Below deck welcomed a bombshell new season 11 stew on the bravo series' april 8 episode who caught the eye of many crewmembers. find out which boatmance might be in jeopardy..

A bombshell new yachtie is rocking the boat on Below Deck .

After Stew  Cat Baugh left the St. David  due to personal issues, the crew met her season 11 replacement: Stew Paris Field , who just so happened to be a familiar face to Chief Stew Fraser Olender .

"Oh my god, I can't believe it's you!" Fraser said of Paris' arrival on the April 8 episode before explaining in a confessional, "I know who Paris is. She is the ex of one of my very dear friends."

The Below Deck alum in question? Season nine Lead Deckhand Jake Foulger .

After the Perth native joined the group at dinner, many of the male crewmembers immediately took notice of Paris' good looks. And, yes, she plans to wave waves this season.

"I'm outgoing, funny and I love mayonnaise," Paris shared in a confessional. "I definitely say what's on my mind, I think because I don't have any serotonin or any happiness left so I just wanna stir the pot and regain some of that happiness back through people's suffering. That's not really true, I'm not evil. I promise."

Paris' arrival put Deckhand Sunny Marquis on the defensive as she worried the Stew's presence could threaten her boatmance with Lead Deckhand Ben Willoughby .

"I'm definitely a little bit jealous," Sunny noted in a confessional. "Now there's a drop-dead gorgeous blonde coming in, she's from Australia, they've got things in common together. I definitely feel a little worried about what Ben thinks of her."

The next day, Deckhand Dylan Pierre De Villiers  attempted some not-so-smooth flirting with Paris during a beach day on the crew's day off.

"It's very funny that you're named Paris and you're from Australia," he told her. "You should have been called crocodile or crocs or something. You look like that girl that would wear Crocs though. Do you like Steve Irwin ?"

Paris responded to Dylan's advances with one word: cringe.

"Dylan's gorgeous, but f--k he's so awkward," she said in a confessional. "Personality wise? A three. If he was mute, I think he'd get a lot more action."

And when Ben joined the two and began touching Paris' arm, Sunny took note of the PDA.

"The guy I'm dating touching another woman makes me feel uncomfortable to be honest," she admitted. "Uncomfortable and angry. Mad disrespect."

Plus, in a preview for the April 15 episode, it seems Ben's flirting with Paris continues, leading to a confrontation between him and Sunny. As she told him in the sneak peek, "That's not cool, you just look like an a--hole. That is just not OK, Ben."

See the drama play out when Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo. And keep reading to look back at some of the wildest charter guests to ever board the mega-yacht.

The Bravo franchise has had plenty of dramatic and crazy moments thanks to some unruly and demanding guests, including Georgia , who was a little too flirty with no-nonsense leader Captain Lee Rosbach .

Sometimes, you just want a foam party—at least, that's what this demanding guest asked for. Was it eyebrow-raising to see him drunkenly partying in what ended up being about four inches of foam? Yes. Was it still epic because of how excited he was? Also yes.

Where do we start with Delores ? The season eight Below Deck charter guest made a splash, literally and figuratively, after she drunkenly jumped into the ocean late at night. To make matters worse, this swimming session was in direct defiance to Captain Lee's order to stay on the boat. In a first for his career, Captain Lee ended Delores' charter early and sent her packing.

However, while being escorted away on the tender, Delores jumped into the ocean. Bold move, lady.

Barrie boarded the Parsifal III with his blended family, including his current fiancé and his ex-husband, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . With such a large guest list, the crew was certainly put to work, especially chef Natasha . Not only did Barrie have no problem sending his breakfast back, but he also refused to have his family served buffet-style.

The first charter of Below Deck season eight was certainly a memorable one. We're, of course, talking about when the charter guests found themselves bickering over deckhand  James Hough . Specifically, charter guest Shay called dibs on the British yachtie. However, her boatmance hopes were derailed when pal Lexi flirtatiously rode a jet ski with James. Thus, a fight broke out over dinner, which shocked the Below Deck crew.

It was ladies night on the high seas in this episode of  Below Deck Mediterranean , but as the drinks flowed, some of the women started to get a little handsy  with deckhand  Jack Stirrup . Thankfully,  Captain Sandy swooped in to save the day.

The crew aboard this ship got a show they didn't ask for when two of the guests hooked up in the crow's nest, a part of the ship that everyone could see on camera.

In the same episode that the crew witnessed the on-deck hookup of two of their guests, they also discovered that their passengers also had never heard of cleaning up after themselves when they stumbled upon a used condom on the nightstand.

For the most part, the charter guest is always right. However, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , charter guest Erica requested that Captain Glenn Shephard do something to make the ship stop rocking. Unfortunately for Erica, they were in the middle of a thunderstorm and Captain Glenn didn't have the power to control the weather.

Other highlights from this charter group include a woman with hours worth of stories, bullying accusations among the ladies and so much more.

While many guests on  Below Deck have been demanding, this may be the most ridiculous request because of how random it was. On one of the episodes, guests demanded gumballs, but not just any gumballs. They had to be colored gumballs and they even threatened to require they be delivered by helicopter if there were none on board.

Not every guest has found their trip to be a five-star experience, but usually they stick around to give feedback as to why. On this episode of  Below Deck , we learn that a few of the guests straight-up ghosted upon arrival and fled the ship before even saying goodbye to the crew.
