This innovative and powerful carrier provides the fastest  transatlantic yacht delivery  available from Florida and the Mediterranean and features amenities designed for worldwide yacht transport such as:

Yacht Express: Design Features Yacht Express is semi-submersible and offers our unique float-on/float-off loading method. It has an impressive length of 209 meters (685.7 ft) and a beam of 32.2 meters (106 ft). Your yacht is safely accommodated between spray covers in the dock bay, which measures at 165 meters (541 ft) long and 31 meters (102 ft) wide. With a deck space of 5,115 square meters (55,060 ft) DYT is able to transport more yachts in one voyage.

The ballasting and deballasting processes are carried out by four main ballast pumps, each with a capacity of 1,200 cu.m/h at 30 m head. The other pump systems include two fi-fi/general service pumps, each with a capacity of:

• 100 cu.m/h at 80 m head or 210 cu.m/h at 30 m head
• An emergency fire pump of 72 cu.m/h at 70 m head
• A 200 cu.m/h ejector pump.

Cargo handling is facilitated by a 2 x 10 t crane with an outreach of 15 m.

Yacht Express: Propulsion Plant Yacht Express has a propulsion and maneuvering plant consisting of two 8,700 kW Wärtsilä 12V38 B common rail diesel generator sets, each driving two Lips azimuth pulling thrusters featuring cp-propellers via two electric motors of 5,100 kW each. Maneuvering is enhanced by a single 1,640 kW bow thruster with cp-propeller. Auxiliary power is derived from two Wärtsilä 6L20 common rail diesel generator sets of 1,020 kW, and emergency power is supplied by a Volvo Penta D34A MS generator of 610 kW, 440 V, 60 Hz.

The spacious bridge on this impressive yacht transport carrier features an integrated bridge system consisting of a UniMACS 3000 containing two radar systems with ARPA and two ECDIS, one conning and platform management system, and an advanced DPT 3500 autopilot/joystick system.

The Sophistication of the Yacht Express This sophisticated yacht delivery vessel is designed to have a service speed of 18 knots, meaning that a trans-Atlantic voyage from the Mediterranean to Florida/Caribbean with this ultra modern yacht carrier will be greatly reduced from 15 to 10 days! Owners can enjoy the advantage of extra riders on board to accompany the yacht during the voyage and they get to enjoy our state-of-the-art facilities. The addition of this new yacht carrier to our fleet implies an important step forward for DYT to improve the quality of services to clients that is based on safety, regularity and reliability.

Yacht Express: Launch completed The launch of Yacht Express was a major milestone in the development of the yacht transport and delivery industry, and Dockwise was proud to be on the forefront of it. On January 15th, 2007, the Yacht Express was skidded from its construction berth ashore onto four connected floating submersible barges, a process which took 6 hours to complete. It had been under construction since September 2005.

On January 19th, 2007, the barges were submerged and the Yacht Express floated off at high tide and moored alongside the construction berth for further outfitting and commissioning. DYT took delivery of the vessel in October, 2007, and our newest yacht transport service on this large and powerful vessel commenced.

We do not charge a fuel surcharge. We feel fuel surcharges are for companies that do not manage their trucks properly or know how to quote a boat relocation correctly.

There are times when a state will put additional restrictions on their permits. These are usually due to road construction and/or the time of year move is scheduled for. Because we are not aware of this ahead of time, they may not be included in your quote.  You will find a quick overview of the most common rules and regulations, listed by state, in the menu found on the right of this page.

Moving An Oversize Power Or Sailboat Requires Extra Planning and Compliance

When transporting sailboats and powerboats that are oversize, some of the regulations we have to comply with are greater than when moving a smaller vessel. We are always required to use pilot cars and pole cars when the vessel exceeds the state or city size regulations.

There is also the need to meet any curfews that are given to us, as far as when and where we can travel while transporting an oversize Yacht. These additional requirements are set by the states and cities that are issuing the permits, your yacht transportation company must be aware of this.

Over-height Yacht Transport

Some flybridges are removed due to excessive height and must be transported on the boat, on the transport trailer, and in some cases with a second truck and trailer. We hope this page has been helpful to you.

In order to transport your boat safely, you have to measure Heigh, Beam (Width), Length, bow pulpits, swim platforms, outboard motor brackets, outboard motors.

Any loose items down below may damage your boat or be damaged, Remove any loose items on deck. Stow and secure all loose gear.  Remove anchors from the deck. Tape your hatches closed for transit.

Sometimes it is necessary or more cost effective to transport your yacht by land. For yacht transports that can be done by land, we offer yacht trucking. We offer road transport of any distance, ranging from local moves, to cross-country, to international.

We use thoroughly vetted, experienced drivers positioned worldwide. Yacht transport by road requires specific equipment, a highly experienced driver, local permitting and thorough planning. The boat hauling equipment available ranges from tri-axle bunk trailers to specialized lowboy boat haulers for oversized boats with high clearance.

What Is The Process of Transporting a Yacht by Land?

Pre-yacht transport.

First, we will discuss the details of your transport. The key things that we will need to know are: the measurements of your boat, make and model, timeframe & desired route.

Measuring your boat accurately is vital for us to know if it can or can’t be transported by land legally along your required route. If your yacht is oversized, or will need to travel through cities with many narrow roads or low bridges, we will need to research the transport route & requirements by obtaining permits & perhaps pole cars or police escorts in your locale if they are legally required.

Next, we will send you a quote and then a digital contract once we have confirmed the logistics and timeframe with the driver. Since equipment and drivers are in high demand, we require a 50% deposit to reserve your pick-up-date range on our schedule. Once the contract is signed and we have received the deposit, we will reach out to your marina to introduce ourselves and begin the coordinated process to ensure your boat is ready for transport on pick-up day.

During Yacht Transport

On pick-up day your boat will be loaded and strapped down to the trailer at the marina (or other pick-up location).

The loading process typically takes a couple of hours. The driver would be happy to take a picture of your loaded boat at the marina and send it to you. The driver will provide frequent updates on progress and the condition of the boat throughout the transport.

Once we arrive at your destination, the marina will unload your yacht from the trailer & the process is complete! Enjoy your boat in its new destination.

How Much Does Boat Transport by Truck Cost?

In general , price for yacht trucking is dependent on these two factors: miles from origin to destination and the size and weight of the boat being transported. Additionally, oversized loads (especially being transported through multiple countries or states) become more costly due to the need for permits & pilot cars.

Typically, if you can provide us with the accurate measurements of your yacht, your desired route & timeframe, then we can provide you with a verbal estimate of cost over the phone on our first call. The crossing doesn’t necessarily happen on their own hull bottoms. Rather, they often take place on a large vessel designed to carry dozens of yachts at a time. Loading and unloading can be a nail-biting process in which these multi-million-dollar yachts are lifted by crane from the water, a hundred feet into the air and then set on cradles on deck.

DYT Yacht Transport (previously Dockwise) has the only dedicated fleet of yacht transport semi-submersible vessels in the world. Now, it’s building the King Kong of submersibles, a 699-footer called Yacht Servant , that can carry up to 36 superyachts back and forth across the ocean. It will be the largest vessel of its type.

Instead of hoisting yachts by crane, Yacht Servant takes on ballast water until the main deck is flooded. The boats can then float on and off—a process DYT calls “flo-flo.” When all yachts are loaded, divers attach temporary supports to keep the boats elevated as the ballast water is released. Yacht Servant floats up and its decks become dry. At that point, the yachts are fastened into cradles for safe transportation. The process eliminates the need for cranes or dry docking.

Yacht Servant will increase the size and type of yachts that the company can transport, compared to its current largest carrier, Yacht Express . “On average, Yacht Express carries around 25 yachts with tenders on a single transatlantic voyage,” Andriy Antonenko, DYT Load Master, told Robb Report . “With Yacht Servant we can up that number to 36 yachts.”

Carrying a third more superyachts is significant. From an operational standpoint, Yacht Servant also cuts in half the two days it currently takes to load the yachts, because the time it takes to ballast and de-ballast is reduced to one hour. “That means it’s only a day to load and unload,” says Antonenko.

Last month, Yacht Servant held special keel-laying ceremony in Yantai, China. “This is not just the laying of a keel, but the start of a new era in yacht transport,” said Laura Tempest, DYT general manager. “Yacht Express will set a new benchmark in the yacht transport industry.”

Scheduled to be completed next year, “Yacht Servant” will usher in a new era in yacht transport. 

Tempest says that sailing yachts that could not be accommodated before because of their deeper drafts can now be transported. The vessel was designed by DYT’s parent company, Spliethoff Group, in Amsterdam.

“We opted for to build a new vessel because there is a lack of availability worldwide of boats that can be converted to a submersible yacht carrier,” Tempest told Robb Report . “Everything was either the same size or smaller than what we already have. A new build gave us the opportunity to increase our capacity and be more fuel efficient. We’ve really maximized the whole ship in terms of what we can do.”
