An aerial of a white superyacht

We’re approaching an action-packed weekend for winter events in South Florida, with the Miami Beat Show (at Virginia Key), Yachts Miami Beach (Mid-Beach and Watson Island), and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival (Bayshore Drive) being held simultaneously.

With the 29th Annual Yachts Miami Beach, a slew of imposing superyachts have been swarming Miami marinas of late, including the 236-foot Axioma , which has been in town for at least a month now and has a history of hosting Celebrity clientele, including members of the Kardashian clan.

Axioma will be the largest superyacht at Yachts Miami Beach , which takes place from Thursday through the weekend on Collins Avenue in Mid-Beach, across from the Eden Roc and Fontainebleau hotels.

Let us introduce the five largest superyachts at this year’s event, led by Axioma. All are currently docked at the Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island, just off the McArthur Causeway en route to Miami Beach.

Riding The Wave: Largest Yachts at 2022 Miami Boat Show

By Heather Collier

In just a matter of days, Miami will be at the centre of the world stage once again for its annual International Boat Show. After its cancellation due to the ongoing global health crisis, Informa Market have announced that the event will now lie in situ with the Miami Yacht Show.

2022 will see its first ever collaborative show, where visitors will have over 1,000 exhibitors and hundreds of exciting interactive experiences to choose from over the course of the five-day extravaganza. “We are thrilled to offer our guests the largest boating and yachting event in the world, right here in Miami where it all began over 80 years ago,” said Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows for Informa Markets.

Historically, the Miami International Boat Show and Miami Yacht Show has continued to be a major marine event in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors to South Florida and generating an estimated combined annual economic impact of $1.34 billion.

Hosted predominantly in the stunning Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach Convention Centre, the show is back and bigger than ever. If you want to explore the event in ultimate style, you’ll be able to indulge in a collection of experiential boating lifestyle activations, entertainment, innovative cuisine, special activity zones, and a marine accessory pavilion. Additional venues for the show in Miami Beach include Pride Park, across the street from the Convention Centre, as well as One Herald Plaza, Island Gardens Deep and Harbour Sea Isle Marina.

One of the main spectacles that cannot be missed is the world-renowned SuperYacht Miami which showcases the largest vessels on display at the show. Dedicated exclusively to the largest and most opulent yachts, Superyacht Miami provides an unparalleled luxury experience, providing each guest with the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most luxurious world-class superyachts, including some exciting debuts from around the globe.

Some of the superyachts attending are Damen Yachting’s 55M Gene Chaser, 55M Gene Machine and IYC’S 50M Thunder.

Gene Chaser and Gene Machine

Gene Chaser and Gene Machine, dubbed the “floating laboratories”, were revealed to have been built specifically for specialist scientists to undergo ground-breaking research. As Dr Jonathan Rothberg puts it, “to feed, fuel, and heal the world.”

It’s easy to spot Gene Chaser   with its signature axe bow, large open deck and eye-catching symbols that mirror the nameplate on the side of Gene Machine. With their custom fleet colours, both vessels boast a stunning combination of design, technology, and science, and ultimately a huge milestone for Damen’s portfolio.

IYC’s Thunder more than lives up to its name. This impressive jet-powered superyacht built in Australia by Oceanfast was commissioned by iconic Italian designer Robert Cavalli and refuses to shy away from flamboyance.  “She’s now in amazing condition and ready for her next adventures,” says Mark Elliott, broker with IYC which has just listed her for sale at $8.8 million. With a surreal Alice in Wonderland interior, each guest will feel as mad as a hatter as they teeter on the edge of fantasy.

Cloud Yachts' NFT Superyachts

But that’s not all – this year’s show continues to welcome new twists and turns as Cloud Yachts has announced it is releasing a collection of NFT yachts exclusively for the show. Cloud Yachts, a digital yacht dealer, has joined forces with the world’s top superyacht designers to release NFT art collections. Contributing designers include Bannenberg & Rowell, Gregory C. Marshall, David Weiss, and Marco Casali.

Zach Mandelstein first founded Cloud Yachts in the heart of Silicon Valley and has been recognised as the first ever digital yacht dealer in the metaverse. Cloud Yachts will be releasing a limited series of 125 of NFTs which are expected to be rapidly snatched off the market.

NFT (non-fungible tokens) art, contain individual digital identifiers that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided; an NFT is recorded on a blockchain, which is used to certify the authenticity and ownership of a specific digital asset. In terms of character, each yacht is guaranteed to unlike any other in the world.

With Burgess’ recent sale of their 40.2M Benetti motor yacht ORYX, bought entirely using BitPay, it comes as no surprise that cryptocurrency and new technology are barging their way to the forefront and beginning to transform the future of the yachting industry.

After partnering with premium brands, owners of Cloud Yachts NFTs will be pleased to know that they will receive VIP access to exclusive events in the superyacht community including yacht shows, super yacht parties and other world-class benefits that ordinarily would not be possible without making such a purchase.

Additionally, a 63M new-build project will also be available for purchase as an NFT. Award-winning naval architect Gregory Marshall is pioneering the project, making it the first NFT superyacht priced at around 95 million USD or 30,148 ETH. Each client will be able to customise their superyacht to their own desires in the metaverse using the first-of-its-kind augmented reality technology.

Informa Market has proven its aims to capture a balance of opulence and grandiosity, whilst also demonstrating the monumental scientific and humanitarian projects that can be achieved onboard the likes of Gene Chaser and Gene Machine, along with ground-breaking new technologies that are reshaping the future of deals and partnerships.

If one thing is for certain, Miami is committed to evolving with the times.

The 2022 Miami International Boat Show will take place between the 16th and 20th of February. We look forward to its unveiling.

"“We are thrilled to offer our guests the largest boating and yachting event in the world, right here in Miami where it all began over 80 years ago.”" Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows for Informa Markets.

Meet Victorious, the Largest Yacht in Miami

' src=

If you’re in Miami, you may want to take a look at Victorious , at 278 feet and 11 inches long the largest boat in the boat show there. It’s over at the superyacht show on Watson Island, where tickets go for $135, but it takes up so much waterfront you can see it easily from Miami.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it, but Victorious is for sale for $129 million. (It’s been on the charter market for $950,000 a week.)

Even as one of the world’s largest superyacht, Victorious is a bit over the top. It has a helipad on the foredeck that doubles as a dance floor, three swimming pools, an owner’s suite on the bridge deck with its own Jacuzzi and sun lounges, a gym, wellness center, wine cellar, two wood-burning fireplaces, a beauty salon, several bars, a beach club, and a small armada of tenders that includes a custom 41-foot aluminum cat and a 38-foot Fountain.

largest yachts in miami

The accommodations include room for 24 guests in 12 staterooms, but the best room in the house seems to be the sky lounge up top, an observation lounge with wraparound views, a baby grand piano, a formal dining room and a smaller lounge with a bar.

All this is powered by twin 1,475-hp Cats, delivering a top speed of 17 knots. The yacht has an amazing range of 14,000 nm at 13 knots (fuel capacity: 69,847 gallons).

And Victorious comes with an unusual back story. It started out at Marco Yachts in Chile under the name Gin Tonic II , but the owner ran out of money. Graeme Hunt bought it unfinished and had it towed to New Zealand. Then Vural Ak, a Turkish entrepreneur who owns the racetrack for the Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix, bought it half completed from Hunt in 2016 and had it towed to Turkey. The Turkish yard Akyacht finally launched it in 2021; it won the prize for Motor Yacht Over 80 Meters at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

Miami International Boat Show

Elevated interest rates, economic uncertainty, and a cooling boating market don’t appear to be lessening the appeal of the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, which kicks-off its five-day run on Wednesday.

With six venues spread across downtown Miami and Miami Beach and an expected crowd of over 100,000 forecasted to attend through the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend, the first major U.S. show this year could be a banner event. “It’s the world’s largest boat and yacht show, offering everything from kayaks to superyachts, plus the latest equipment,” says Andrew Doole, president of Informa’s U.S. Boat Shows division. The stats back him up: There will be more than 1,000 boats from kayaks to superyachts on display, with more than 1,000 exhibitors.

The show will have a VIP program called Windward that provides access to lounges and transportation between the event’s six locations. The exclusive offering will also give access to Superyacht Miami and Art Wynwood.

Here are 10 boats, from global debuts to recently launched brokerage superyachts, that will define this year’s event.

AK Yachts ‘Victorious’

largest yachts in miami

The star of this year’s Miami show? That title will likely go to the 278-foot globe-trotting explorer Victorious from the Turkish yard, AKYacht. Taking up much of the dock space at the Yacht Haven Grande superyacht display, Victorious is coming to MIBS looking for a buyer. Asking price? A cool $129 million. This recipient of a 2022 Robb Report “Best of the Best” award is owned by Turkish entrepreneur Vural Ak, who bought the half-completed superyacht in 2016 from New Zealand billionaire Graeme Hunt and had it towed back to Turkey for completion. With an interior design by Britain’s H2 Yacht Design, Victorious offers sumptuous accommodation for 24 guests across 12 staterooms. It also comes with such luxuries as a massive wellness center with a beauty salon and steam room, a wine cellar, a cinema, two wood-burning fireplaces, and a well-designed playroom for kids. The range of 14,000 nautical miles at 13 knots shows that this vessel can go the distance.

Azimut Magellano 30M

largest yachts in miami

Azimut’s new Magellano 30 Metri splashed way back in January 2022. The flagship of its popular explorer series was originally scheduled to debut at last September’s Cannes boat show, which never happened. It’s finally making its “world premiere” at Miami. This new 98-foot 30M looks fresh, with a striking exterior by naval architect Ken Freivokh and glass-rich interior by Vincenzo De Cotiis. With its trademark wood slats by the stern cockpit and towering hull sides, the yacht is instantly recognizable as being from the Magellano series. The Miami showboat is the first in the U.S. and is currently listed for sale at $12.75 million. It’s said to have over $3 million in options, including upgraded MAN 1900 diesels.

Benetti ‘Grateful’

largest yachts in miami

Less than a year old, the 112-foot Benetti Grateful  will offer some lucky buyer the opportunity to skip the waiting list and take delivery of what is essentially a brand-new boat, in time for summer cruising in the Hamptons. Another bonus: the asking price of $15.9 million is reckoned to be well below the replacement cost. With an exterior design by Britain’s RWD studios, this Benetti 34M Oasis boasts one of the best beach clubs of any sub-120-foot superyacht, courtesy of fold-down terraces on each side, a glass-sided plunge pool overlooking the hydraulic swim platform, and even a cocktail bar. Add to this a contemporary interior in 50 shades of gray and beige by New York architectural firm Bonetti/Kozerki. Grateful ‘s twin 1,380 hp MTU diesels give her a 16-knot top speed and, at 10 knots, the range is 2,700 nautical miles.

Itama 62 RS

largest yachts in miami

If ever a boat was designed for the fast-living, look-at-me Miami boating lifestyle, it’s the Italian-built Itama 62RS . Launched back in 2011 with a wave-cleaving, deep-vee hull that dates back to Itama’s classic FiftyFive model from the mid-2000s, this classically styled 62-footer got a full makeover back two years ago. Now it’s being displayed for the first time in the U.S. at Miami. Looking like some classic 80s rocketship from Miami’s fabled Thunderboat Row, it has an impressively long foredeck, a wraparound windshield, and impressive power and performance. How impressive? With twin MAN V12 turbo diesels cranking out 1,400 hp each, the yacht has a top speed well over 40 knots. The cockpit can hold a crowd of up to 14, with three en suite cabins below deck accommodating up to six.

Formula 457 Center Console Sport

largest yachts in miami

Formula Boats’s popular 387 Center Console Sport is getting a new big brother. Being unveiled at MIBS is the all-new 457 Center Console Sport, which becomes the second-largest boat in the Formula line-up, behind the 500 Super Sport Crossover flagship. Part dayboat and part fishing machine, this new 45-footer comes with Formula’s proven FAS3TECH deep-vee hull and elongated hardtop with an opening windshield and air-conditioning, plus two rows of bolstered sports seats. Up front there’s plenty of seating, while a port-side door in the console leads down to a comfy cabin with a small galley, a head compartment, and a forward double bed. In keeping with Formula’s go-fast heritage, this new 457 comes with triple Mercury Verado 600 V12s. And next summer Formula is unveiling the 457 Center Console Fish version with an upper helm.

Riva 82 Diva

largest yachts in miami

The unveiling of a new Riva makes for a red-letter day at any boat show. And while the Italian yard’s latest 82 Diva flybridge had its premiere at last year’s Cannes show, it’ll be one of the showstoppers at Miami where it will be making its U.S. debut. This sleek, high-sided 82-foot beauty, from the drawing board of Officina Italiana Design, is distinguished by that unmistakable, swept-up hull feature line, a raked-back windshield, and a spacious flybridge. It also features a first for Riva: a beach club with fold-down bulwark terraces on each side. And when you have Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo, overseeing the design and engineering team, you know it will be fast. Powered by twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 turbo diesels, the Diva boasts a top speed of 31 knots.

Chris-Craft Launch 27, 150th Anniversary Edition

largest yachts in miami

Happy 150th to all Chris-Craft owners. In 1874, Christopher Columbus Smith started building wooden skiffs and inboard boats in Algonac, Michigan. To mark this auspicious milestone, the manufacturer—now based in Sarasota, Fla.—is unveiling a Sesquicentennial version of its iconic Launch 27 sports bowrider. There aren’t too many dramatic changes: The silver-gray hull gets an aquamarine boot stripe that was one of the builder’s signature colors in the early years. The hand-stitched, embossed leather cover on the steering wheel has a special 150th Anniversary cap and a Chris-Craft 150 welcome page on the chart-plotter. There is also an aquamarine-edged 150th burgee on the flagpole. It’s fitting that the classic Launch 27 was chosen to celebrate the 150 years of the brand since it was the first model in the current Chris-Craft’s lineup.

Boston Whaler 365 Conquest

largest yachts in miami

More than a few Boston Whaler devotees were upset when the much-loved 345 Conquest fishing machine quietly slipped out of production last year after a long, nine-year run. Thankfully their disappointment should be short-lived because the Miami show sees the unveiling of the 345’s spiritual successor, the all-new 365 Conquest. Loosely based on the larger, flagship 405 Conquest, the newcomer sees the 405’s quartet of Mercury Verado 400s replaced with triple 400 V10s. And while the 365 shares hull and superstructure design cues with the 405, the hardtop gets a new curvier windshield and increased glass in the pilothouse, plus a new upper helm station. The Edgewater, Florida-based division of Brunswick Corporation nicknames its new 365 Conquest the “SUV of the sea” courtesy of its unsinkable hull design, offshore capabilities, and “transformer” cabin, where the dining area transitions to sleeping quarters at the touch of a button.

Tiara EX 54

largest yachts in miami

The slogan for Tiara Yachts’s brand-new EX 54 cruiser, making its Miami debut, could be: “Honey, we shrunk the EX 60 .” Looking very much like a scaled-down version of its flagship 60, the 54-footer has inherited nearly all the best features of its larger brother. They include twin fold-down terraces on the cockpit with built-in doors, a side helm door, sliding glass rear windows with a drop-down section, and a large entertaining area in the bow. Of course, with six less feet to work with, the smaller aft cockpit has less lounging space. The Volvo IPS 950s diesels are also a step down in horsepower from the 60’s twin Volvo IPS 1050s or optional 1350s. Below-decks, the master is a tad smaller and bunk beds instead of twins define the guest cabin. Otherwise, the family resemblance remains intact.

Lazzara Yachts ‘Lanida’

largest yachts in miami

Just gazing at this 92-foot, Florida-built Lazzara 92 LSX and you can almost hear that iconic Jan Hammer soundtrack to Miami Vice. Built in 2010, it’s fresh out of a major refit managed by Lazzara as well as the original crew that’s still with this go-fast superyacht. Named Lanida, which roughly translates to “free spirit,” the yacht has never been chartered and only lightly used. Now it’s on sale, with a $2.95 million asking price. What sets the yacht apart, in addition to that dramatic styling and silver metallic paint, is its impressive power. Squeezed tight into its engine room are four Volvo IPS 900, packing around 780 hp apiece. The combined 3,120 hp is enough to punch the LSX to a top speed of over 31 knots.

Discover Miami’s Majestic Marinas: A Guide to the Largest Yacht Ports in the Magic City

largest yachts in miami

From its picturesque shores to its bustling ports, Miami has long been recognized as a hub for maritime enthusiasts. But how did this sun-soaked city become a global yachting capital? This journey takes us from Miami’s humble beginnings to its current status as a beacon for yachting fans and marine sustainability advocates alike. As you embark on this voyage through time, you’ll discover the magic of Miami’s ports and marinas and perhaps find inspiration for your next maritime adventure with Luxury Miami Yachts.

  • History and Evolution: How Miami Became a Yachting Paradise

Miami’s transformation into a yachting paradise is a tale of vision, ambition, and strategic development. Once a quiet coastal town, Miami’s geographical location, sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the vast expanse of the Everglades, made it an ideal locale for maritime activities.

In the early 20th century, Miami was already a bustling hub for trade, with ships ferrying goods from the Caribbean and South America. The city’s founders, recognizing the potential of its pristine waters and strategic location, made significant investments in maritime infrastructure. This laid the groundwork for what would become a booming yachting industry.

The post-war boom of the 1950s and 1960s saw an influx of tourists and celebrities to Miami’s shores. With this came a demand for luxury services, including private yachting. Recognizing this trend, developers and entrepreneurs invested heavily in marinas, yacht clubs, and other related services.

However, it wasn’t just about luxury. Miami’s community recognized the need for sustainable yachting practices. This foresight led to regulations that ensured marine biodiversity and water quality were maintained. As a result, Miami’s waters remained pristine, further attracting yacht enthusiasts.

Today, Miami’s rich yachting history is evident in its numerous marinas, yacht festivals, and the countless vessels that dot its skyline. The city has seamlessly blended luxury with sustainability, making it a beacon for yachting fans worldwide.

  • Port Miami: The Giant of South Florida and its Impact on the Nautical World

Port Miami stands as a testament to human ingenuity and vision. Widely regarded as the “Cruise Capital of the World,” it’s not just cruise ships that have found a home here, but yachts of all sizes.

The port’s story began in the early 1900s when trade ships became a common sight. However, it was the post-war era that marked the port’s ascendancy. With increased global trade and the rise of Miami as a luxury destination, there was a need for a sophisticated port to handle the influx.

To meet these demands, Port Miami underwent extensive expansions. Dredging projects ensured that even the largest superyachts could dock with ease. Advanced navigational aids and state-of-the-art facilities made it a preferred destination for yacht owners worldwide.

However, Port Miami’s influence isn’t just limited to its docks. It has spurred economic growth in the region, with numerous businesses, from fine dining restaurants to luxury boutiques, cropping up to cater to the discerning yacht crowd.

Today, the port is a hub of activity, influencing global yachting trends and serving as a model for ports worldwide. Its blend of efficiency, luxury, and sustainability is a hallmark of its success.

  • Marina Bay: Exclusive Services and Highlighted Events at this Port

Marina Bay is synonymous with luxury yachting in Miami. Situated in a strategic location, this marina offers an experience that few others can match.

From its inception, Marina Bay was envisioned as more than just a docking space. It was to be a haven for yacht enthusiasts, offering services that catered to every whim and fancy. This vision has been realized over the years, with the marina boasting amenities that are second to none. From top-tier maintenance facilities to exclusive clubs and lounges, Marina Bay is in a league of its own.

But it’s not just about luxury. The marina has carved a niche for itself by hosting exclusive maritime events. These events, ranging from yacht exhibitions to marine conservation seminars, attract visitors from all corners of the globe.

Furthermore, the marina’s focus on sustainability sets it apart. Eco-friendly practices, from waste management to water conservation, are the norm here, ensuring that Miami’s waters remain pristine for future generations.

  • The Experience at Miami Beach Marina: From Nearby Restaurants to Tourist Activities

Nestled amidst the vibrant cityscape of Miami lies the Miami Beach Marina, a blend of urban allure and maritime serenity. For many yacht owners and marine enthusiasts, this marina isn’t just a docking spot but a gateway to Miami’s rich tapestry of experiences.

One of the standout aspects of Miami Beach Marina is its proximity to a diverse gastronomic landscape. As yachts dock, visitors are mere steps away from a culinary journey that spans the globe. From authentic Cuban cafeterias serving hearty classics to upscale restaurants offering gourmet delights, the choices are as vast as they are delicious. This interplay of cuisine adds a unique flavor to the marina, ensuring that every visit is tinged with anticipation for the next delightful meal.

But food is just the tip of the iceberg. The marina’s location offers easy access to some of Miami Beach’s most iconic landmarks. The Art Deco Historic District, with its pastel-colored buildings and vintage charm, is a must-visit. It’s a delightful juxtaposition of Miami’s historical past against the contemporary luxury of yachting. Then, there’s the South Pointe Park, a serene spot that offers panoramic views of the city and the ocean, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists.

  • Sustainable Strategies: How Miami’s Ports are Adopting Ecological Practices to Protect the Ocean

As Miami’s reputation as a global yachting hub has grown, so has its responsibility towards ensuring the sustainability of its marine practices. Recognizing the potential environmental impact of the maritime industry, Miami’s ports have taken proactive steps to minimize their ecological footprint.

A cornerstone of this initiative is waste management. Ports across Miami have implemented stringent waste disposal practices, ensuring that pollutants don’t find their way into the ocean. Specialized waste collection vessels, along with facilities to treat and dispose of waste safely, are now a common sight.

But sustainability isn’t just about waste management. It’s also about educating and informing. To this end, Miami’s ports regularly organize seminars and workshops focused on marine conservation. These events aim to sensitize yacht owners, crew, and visitors about the importance of sustainable practices and the role they can play in ensuring the health of the oceans.

Furthermore, there’s a push towards utilizing clean energy. Solar panels, wind turbines, and other green energy sources are being integrated into port operations. The goal is to reduce carbon emissions and pave the way for a cleaner, greener future.

Collaboration is key to the success of these initiatives. Miami’s ports work in tandem with environmental agencies, conservation experts, and the community. It’s a collective effort aimed at preserving the beauty and vitality of Miami’s waters for generations to come.

Conclusion :

Miami’s metamorphosis into a global yachting paradise is no accident. It’s the product of visionary minds, strategic investments, and a commitment to sustainable maritime practices. Today, the city stands as a testament to what can be achieved when luxury, sustainability, and community come together. For those inspired by Miami’s maritime legacy, the journey is just beginning. Due to the ongoing restrictions of the pandemic and an overall decline in air travel, the yachting industry has taken off this year.

“There is an interesting phenomenon going on with the yacht chartering industry during COVID times and why it works is appealing,” notes JR Ridinger. “Superyachts offer an amazing solution for affluent or successful individuals and families or business owners to quarantine or social distance in luxury. UTOPIA IV is equipped with a digital office, so you can stay connected from anywhere in your own bubble.”

Utopia IV

To provide the safest environment, the Utopia IV team requires that all crew and guests have a current COVID-19 negative test on file with the yacht prior to boarding in order to maintain a COVID-free “safety bubble.”

Utopia IV

Over the summer, UTOPIA IV was an in-demand charter by the top billionaire Wall Street titans who wanted to escape the mundane of their homes and safely quarantine at sea—with all the necessities and luxuries available to them throughout their time aboard.

Utopia IV

Recently, UTOPIA was reflagged as a United States vessel, honored by the United States Superyacht Association. Currently, the superyacht is available for charter, including sailing in the U.S., The Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean.

Utopia IV

UTOPIA IV is powered by 4 MTU engines of 2600 hp. Utopia IV’s maximum range is estimated at 3300 nautical miles. The motor yacht can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins, with a crew of 13. Amenities include a beach club, swimming pool, air conditioning, various toys, twin PWCs and all the technology one would expect on such an amazing yacht.

A look at the most expensive superyachts at the Palm Beach yacht show and their insane features, from basketball courts on deck to ice baths and saunas

  • The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
  • Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
  • These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

Insider Today

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocketed potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to charter in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

Related stories

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.

Yachts to look out for at the Miami International Boat Show

Related articles.

The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is back after a year hiatus with an impressive showcase of the biggest names in yachting. This year the Miami International Boat Show and Miami Yacht Show have joined forces to present one of the biggest boat shows in America. Here are some of the yachts to look out for...

Ocean Alexander 30R

Ocean Alexander has teamed up with longtime collaborator Evan K. Marshall to create a modern interpretation of the shipyard's successful 100 series. The 30 metre motor yacht features a signature Revolution vertical bow and offers owners more interior space than its predecessors. The upper deck can be configured as a sky lounge or as a 'new generation' pilothouse with a foredeck lounge for secluded sunning.

Azimut 38m Grande Trideck

The 38 metre Azimut Grande Trideck is the new flagship of the Azimut fleet and represents the shipyard's first foray into tri-deck superyachts. The new model is described by Azimut as “three decks plus one” due to an extra deck at the stern that serves as a sea view terrace.

Gene Machine and Gene Chaser

The 55 metre Amels 180 Limited Editions Gene Machine and her matching Damen Yachting support vessel Gene Chaser have both confirmed attendance at this year's show. The pair have been cruising in tandem since 2021 and offer over 100 metres of superyacht amenities between them.

The 31 metre Spritz 102 is one of the first offerings from newcomer Alpha Custom Yachts . The model has been designed inside and out by Giorgio Casetta with naval architecture by Laurent Giles. Highlights include a tiered aft deck with a plunge pool and a fold-down sofa on the swim platform. The second hull in the series, named Vivace , will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show and is available for charter with Denison Yachting.

Oceanfast motor yacht Thunder is used to turning heads and will no doubt gather quite the crowd in Miami. The 50 metre superyacht is easily one of the most eye-catching designs by the late Jon Bannenberg thanks to its jet fighter-style exhausts, oversized air intakes and sparkling silver paint job. Thunder was built in 1998 for an owner looking for a hyper-fast boat and is now offered for sale with IYC .

Custom Line Navetta 42

At 42 metres in length, the flagship of Custom Line's Navetta range is one of the largest boats on display at this year's Miami International Boat Show. Highlights include an owner’s suite with a private fold-down terrace, a sundeck Jacuzzi and a foredeck sun lounge with oversized sun pads.

Il'Barbetta

The 44.2 metre Benetti motor yacht Il'Barbetta joined the market in October 2021 and will be on display in Miami this week. Listed for sale with Merle Wood & Associates , Il'Barbetta was delivered in 2009 and features an interior by Bannenberg & Rowell with exterior styling by Stefano Righini. She is offered for sale fresh from a multimillion-dollar refit including an exterior repaint and new teak. Plus, she is the only yacht in her class fitted with a three-person elevator.

Venera was built by Dutch shipyard Van der Valk and joined the market last year. The 28.5 metre motor yacht was designed by Guido de Groot as a no-nonsense, trawler-style explorer with an industrial-style interior. Venera is the latest evolution of Van der Valk's explorer offering and is listed for sale with Eastwind Yachts.

Another One

The 38 metre Another One is one of the latest members of Sanlorenzo's SX112 crossover series. Fresh from the shipyard, she was delivered earlier this year and is now listed for sale with Burgess . Zuccon International Project designed the exterior with a 92 square metre aft deck and fold-out terraces.

Six presumed dead after cargo ship crash levels Baltimore bridge

BALTIMORE — A major Baltimore bridge collapsed like a house of cards early Tuesday after it was struck by a container ship, sending six people to their deaths in the dark waters below, and closing one of the country’s busiest ports.

By nightfall, the desperate search for six people who were working on the bridge and vanished when it fell apart had become a grim search for bodies.

“We do not believe that we’re going to find any of these individuals still alive,” Coast Guard Rear Admiral Shannon N. Gilreath said.

Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Brawner Builders, said earlier that one of his workers had survived. He did not release their names.

Up until then, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore had held out hope that the missing people might be found even as law enforcement warned that the frigid water and the fact that there had been no sign of them since 1:30 a.m. when the ship struck Francis Scott Key Bridge.

Moore expressed heartbreak after officials suspended the search for survivors.

"Our heart goes out to the families," he said. "I can’t imagine how painful today has been for these families, how painful these hours have been have been for these families."

It was a crushing blow to the loved ones of the missing men, who had waited for hours at a Royal Farms convenience store near the entrance of the bridge for word of their fate.

Follow live updates here

The tragic chain of events began early Tuesday when the cargo ship Dali notified authorities that it had lost power and issued a mayday moments before the 984-foot vessel slammed into a bridge support at a speed of 8 knots, which is about 9 mph.

Moore declared a state of emergency while rescue crews using sonar detected at least five vehicles in the frigid 50-foot-deep water: three passenger cars, a cement truck and another vehicle of some kind. Authorities do not believe anyone was inside the vehicles.

Investigators quickly concluded that it was an accident and not an act of terrorism.

Ship was involved in another collision

Earlier, two people were rescued from the water, Baltimore Fire Chief James Wallace said. One was in good condition and refused treatment, he said. The other was seriously injured and was being treated in a trauma center.

Moore said other drivers might have been in the water had it not been for those who, upon hearing the mayday, blocked off the bridge and kept other vehicles from crossing.

“These people are heroes,” Moore said. “They saved lives.”

Nearly eight years ago, the Dali was involved in an accident. In July 2016, it struck a quay at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium, damaging the quay.

The nautical commission investigated the accident, but the details of the inquiry were not immediately clear Tuesday.

The Dali is operated and managed by Synergy Group. In a statement, the company said that two port pilots were at the helm during Tuesday's crash and that all 22 crew members onboard were accounted for.

The Dali was chartered by the Danish shipping giant Maersk, which said it would have no choice but to send its ships to other nearby ports with the Port of Baltimore closed.

The bridge, which is about a mile and a half long and carries Interstate 695 over the Patapsco River southeast of Baltimore, was "fully up to code," Moore said.

National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy said that her agency will lead the investigation and that a data recorder on the ship could provide more information.

"But right now we're focusing on the people, on the families," she said. "The rest can wait."

President Joe Biden vowed to rebuild the bridge and send federal funds.

"This is going to take some time," the president warned. "The people of Baltimore can count on us though to stick with them, at every step of the way, till the port is reopened and the bridge is rebuilt."

Speaking in Baltimore, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg echoed the president's promise.

"This is no ordinary bridge," he said. "This is one of the cathedrals of American infrastructure."

But Buttigieg warned that replacing the bridge and reopening the port will take time and money and that it could affect supply chains.

The Port of Baltimore, the 11th largest in the U.S., is the busiest port for car imports and exports, handling more than 750,000 vehicles in 2023 alone, according to data from the Maryland Port Administration.

Writer David Simon, a champion of Baltimore who set his TV crime drama "The Wire" on the streets of the city he once covered as a reporter, warned online that the people who will suffer the most are those whose livelihoods depend on the port.

"Thinking first of the people on the bridge," Simon posted on X . "But the mind wanders to a port city strangling. All the people who rely on ships in and out."

Timeline of crash

Dramatic video captured the moment at 1:28 a.m. Tuesday when the Dali struck a support and sent the bridge tumbling into the water. A livestream showed cars and trucks on the bridge just before the strike. The ship did not sink, and its lights remained on.

Investigators said in a timeline that the Dali's lights suddenly shut off four minutes earlier before they came back on and that then, at 1:25 a.m. dark black smoke began billowing from the ship's chimney.

A minute later, at 1:26 a.m., the ship appeared to turn. And in the minutes before it slammed into the support, the lights flickered again.

Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul Wiedefeld said the workers on the bridge were repairing concrete ducts when the ship crashed into the structure.

At least seven workers were pouring concrete to fix potholes on the roadway on the bridge directly above where the ship hit, said James Krutzfeldt, a foreman.

Earlier, the Coast Guard said it had received a report that a “motor vessel made impact with the bridge” and confirmed it was the Dali, a containership sailing under a Singaporean flag that was heading for Sri Lanka.

Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses After Being Struck By Cargo Ship

Bobby Haines, who lives in Dundalk in Baltimore County, said he felt the impact of the bridge collapse from his house nearby.

"I woke up at 1:30 this morning and my house shook, and I was freaking out," he said. "I thought it was an earthquake, and to find out it was a bridge is really, really scary."

Families of bridge workers wait for updates

Earlier in the day, relatives of the construction crew waited for updates on their loved ones.

Marian Del Carmen Castellon told Telemundo her husband, Miguel Luna, 49, was working on the bridge.

“They only tell us that we have to wait and that they can’t give us information,” she said.

Castellon said she was "devastated, devastated because our heart is broken, because we don’t know how they have been rescued yet. We are just waiting for the news."

Luna's co-worker Jesús Campos said he felt crushed, too.

“It hurts my heart to see what is happening. We are human beings, and they are my folks,” he said.

Campos told The Baltimore Banner that the missing men are from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

Active search and rescue ends

The Coast Guard said it was suspending the active search-and-rescue effort at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"Coast Guard’s not going away, none of our partners are going away, but we’re just going to transition into a different phase," Gilreath said at a news conference.

Maryland State Police Superintendent Roland L. Butler, Jr., said it was moving to a recovery operation. Changing conditions have made it dangerous for divers, he said.

Butler pledged to "do our very best to recover those six missing people," but the conditions are difficult.

"If we look at how challenging it is at a simple motor vehicle crash to extract an individual, I'm sure we can all imagine how much harder it is to do it in inclement weather, when it's cold, under the water, with very limited to no visibility," he said.

"There's a tremendous amount of debris in the water," which can include sharp metal and other hazards, and that could take time, Butler said.

'A long road in front of us'

Built in 1977 and referred to locally as the Key Bridge, the structure was later named after the author of the American national anthem.

The bridge is more than 8,500 feet long, or 1.6 miles. Its main section spans 1,200 feet, and it was one of the longest continuous truss bridges in the world upon its completion, according to the National Steel Bridge Alliance .

About 31,000 vehicles a day use the bridge, which equals 11.3 million vehicles per year, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The river and the Port of Baltimore are both key to the shipping industry on the East Coast, generating more than $3.3 billion a year and directly employing more than 15,000 people.

Asked what people in Baltimore can expect going forward, the state's transportation secretary said it is too early to tell.

"Obviously we reached out to a number of engineering companies, so obviously we have a long road in front of us," Wiedefeld said.
