Starting aft, 44 NORTH has an extended swim platform and was built with the largest cockpit of any Outer Reef to date. The spacious cockpit has a baitwell tank, dive tank storage, built-in tackle boxes and fishing rod holders. Twin staircases from the cockpit lead to an aft deck with both built-in and loose seating, plus an extended custom table to easily accommodate eight for dining. Built-in cabinets on the aft deck house refrigeration and storage, plus provide a useful counter area.
Moving forward is a spacious salon with a comfortable custom-made L-shaped sofa and club chairs with storage compartments. Salon also holds an entertainment center, extensive bookshelf space, custom ceiling detail, and additional cabinetry for DVD, wine and liquor storage and bar cabinetry.
Forward of the salon is a spacious galley with excellent pantry storage in a large island with counter, with an on-deck head on the opposite side. Dividing the galley and the pilothouse is a power lifting panel located at the aft end of the pilothouse seating, which in conjunction with a pocket door from the staircase, completely separates the pilothouse. This feature is unique to 44 NORTH and is specifically designed for night running and division when required from the galley and salon area. When not in use, it allows for a complete open country-kitchen feeling.
The pilothouse has twin upgraded power pedestal Stidd helm seats, and a U-shapedsettee with a large table that can be utilized for dining or as a work space with a completely unobstructed views through the Pilothouse windows. Weathertight port and starboard doors allow for easy access to covered walk around decks.
From the pilothouse, a staircase leads down to the owner and guest accommodations. Forward is a queen-berth VIP stateroom with an ensuite head and shower. To port is a guest cabin with two twin berths and an ensuite head and shower. The king-berth master stateroom feature two spacious walk-in closets, and a marble-floored ensuite head with large shower. There is engine room access from the aft walk-in closet in the master, through a sound-insulated watertight door.
The large stand-up engine room houses engines, generators, stabilizers, ASEA voltage regulators, and other equipment, with the engineering and placement designed for easy trouble shooting and servicing.
Aft of the engine room is the crew quarters with a comfortable L-shaped seating area and a dinette table. The crew stateroom features a queen berth with an ensuite head. This crew area was built at the same high- level of fit and finish as the rest of the yacht, with beautiful cherry joinery. Aft of the crew galley is a work area, with a stainless steel work bench, 6" vice, Craftsman toolbox, storage cabinetry and access to the cockpit through a weather tight door.
The foredeck of the yacht has comfortable seating forward of the Portuguese bridge that is able to convert to a lounge. There are two independent windlasses, both with chain and two large anchors.
The flybridge and boat deck are accessed from an interior staircase in the pilothouse, as well as an exterior stair from the aft deck. The design of this 880 Outer Reef Classic series provides an extremely large and wide upper flybridge and boat deck area. Twin Stidd seats are in a position for maximum visibility fore and aft, and the large hardtop extends over the helm area and aft, over L-shaped settees to port and starboard. The flybridge seating easily accommodates ten guests, with tables for dining or entertaining. The flybridge has a full enclosure, added in 2021.
Aft of the flybridge seating is FRP cabinetry, with a Miele electric BBQ grill, new refrigerator (2023), sink and two very large built-in deck boxes to port. The boat deck is sufficiently large, with 1700lb capacity davit to carry a 15’ tender athwartships.

Man charged with fatal shooting on Syracuse’s North Side

Syracuse, N.Y. – A 44-year-old man was arrested late Thursday night and charged with the fatal shooting of a man on Syracuse’s North Side.
Rafael Cruz-Vazquez is accused of shooting Gregory Ramos-Falcon , 36, outside a home at 128 Steuben St. around 2 a.m. June 5, according to a criminal complaint.
He is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
An arrest warrant was issued on June 13 and he was arrested in Puerto Rico on June 17, according to a news release from Syracuse police. On Thursday, he was extradited from Puerto Rico to New York.
Cruz-Vazquez was identified in a video of a suspect fleeing the area with what appears to be a handgun, police said in the complaint. He also “acknowledged his complicity” in the crime, police said.
Ramos-Falcon was shot at least twice, police have said.
Cruz-Vazquez is being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center jail.

Severe storms devastate upstate New York, Midwest, leaving at least 3 dead
More storms could be on the way Wednesday after severe weather − including at least one confirmed tornado − wreaked devastation across the Midwest and East Coast and left three people dead.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a wide portion of the East Coast, stretching from Philadelphia to Boston and up to Albany, through 8 p.m.
On Tuesday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency throughout the state after the storms caused widespread destruction, wrecking buildings and trees and leaving more than 100,000 households without power, according to poweroutage.us .
One person died in Canastota, a village around 25 miles east of Syracuse, according to an emergency declaration . "Numerous trees and wires" were ripped down in the village, and several roads were impassable, as some areas were under evacuation.
Farther east, the storms ripped through Rome, a city of 31,000, demolishing houses and uprooting trees . The National Weather Service in Binghamton confirmed that a tornado touched down in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
'It looks like a war zone'
Rome Mayor Jeffrey Lanigan said the storm tore through the town's historic downtown, pulling down the steeples of two 19th century churches and permanently changing the city skyline.
"Honestly, it looks like a war zone," Lanigan said at a news conference Tuesday evening. "It tugs on your heartstrings."
Officials warned Rome residents to avoid traveling on the streets and to be wary of downed power lines, which could be active.
Hochul posted on X that she was in touch with local officials and would deploy extra resources to impacted areas.
"When something like this happens, you tend to believe it was a tornado," Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente said at the news conference.
The weather service in Buffalo confirmed that a tornado touched down in the city of Canandaigua, about 100 miles west of Rome, just a day earlier. With a rating of EF-0, the twister traveled around three quarters of a mile, pulling up trees around Canandaigua Lake, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported .

Flash floods soak Midwest, leaving 2 dead
Meanwhile, floodwaters inundated parts of Iowa, Indiana and Illinois as the area reeled from thunderstorms that soaked the region and spun up several tornadoes.
A husband and wife, both 88, were left dead after a flood washed away their car in rural Illinois on Tuesday afternoon.
The couple's sinking vehicle was spotted by a 70-year-old man, who local deputies were able to pull out of the flash flood that struck around 35 miles north of downtown St. Louis, according to the Jersey County Sheriff's Office . Authorities later found the woman dead inside her car and her husband's body on a nearby bank.
East of St. Louis, around 200 residents of Nashville, Illinois, were evacuated amid the "imminent failure" of a local dam after the area was hit with more than 6 inches of rain, local officials said . By Tuesday evening, the "immediate safety concern" had passed, and a nearby interstate highway was reopened, according to the Washington County Emergency Management Agency .
The flooding came after a derecho caused severe storms and tornadoes over the region on Monday. A derecho is a rare and destructive wind storm that can bring rapid thunderstorms and showers.
The National Weather Service confirmed 11 tornadoes moved through northern Illinois and northwest Indiana that night, including one near Chicago O'Hare International Airport, forcing travelers to shelter in place .
The weather service also confirmed an EF-1 tornado traveled near Des Moines on Monday at more than 100 mph, leaving behind widespread damage and knocking out power, the Des Moines Register, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported .

Dozens evacuated in Arkansas amid flash floods
Widespread flash floods hit Arkansas on Wednesday after the north central part of the state was deluged with more than 10 inches in 24 hours, according to the weather service. "Numerous creeks and rivers" in the area were flooding or still rising just before noon local time, forecasters said .
The weather service extended a flood warning for areas near the White River on Wednesday afternoon as water levels rose above 21 feet that morning. The river could rise crest at 29 feet on Sunday morning.
The flooding damaged infrastructure and forced road closures and evacuations in multiple counties across the state, according to a news release emailed to USA TODAY by Arkansas Division of Emergency Management public information officer Lacey Kanipe. In the town of Flippin, around 140 miles north of Little Rock, up to 40 people were forced to evacuate.
Responders carried out water rescues after several bridges in the area were inundated, the city posted on Facebook. Local officials urged residents to avoid using city roads.
"If you do not have to leave your residences, please stay home!" the Marion County Office of Emergency Management posted to Facebook .
Around 80 residents of a nursing home in Yellville, a city around 7 miles from Flippin, were forced to evacuate, Tobias Pugsley, vice president of communications and marketing for Baxter Health, told local news . The patients were transported to the county fairgrounds, he said.
Some severe storms clear, but heat wave continues
The extreme weather briefly dissipated on Wednesday morning before the severe thunderstorm watch was issued by the weather service at around 1 p.m.
The storms could bring frequent lightning, heavy wind gusts and put the area at a slight risk of hail or tornadoes through Thursday morning, the weather service warned. Heavy rain could also trigger flash floods.
At the same time, wide swaths of the country could bake in excessive heat as a record-smashing heat wave continues on the East Coast through Wednesday.
Nearly 100 million Americans, 29% of the country, were under heat alerts on Wednesday, according to the National Integrated Heat Health Information System .
The tail end of a heat wave will scorch the I-95 corridor, including New York City, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Philadelphia, on Wednesday before a cold front brings relief on Thursday, according to the weather service. The area around the nation's capital, including parts of Maryland and Virginia, was under a heat advisory . Heat index values could reach 106 degrees on Wednesday.
The cold front could trigger more severe thunderstorms and showers later in the week. And the heat will return – the weather service said heat risk could be "major" to "extreme" in parts of the West by the weekend.
Temperatures this summer have broken records and left dozens dead. In the first five days of July, temperatures in more than 50 cities in California and Nevada set new records, according to AccuWeather. At least 30 deaths in the West this month were linked to the heat.

WALKTHROUGH
Starting aft, 44 NORTH has an extended swim platform and was built with the largest cockpit of any Outer Reef to date. The spacious cockpit has a baitwell tank, dive tank storage, built-in tackle boxes and fishing rod holders. Twin staircases from the cockpit lead to an aft deck with both built-in and loose seating, plus an extended custom table to easily accommodate eight for dining. Built-in cabinets on the aft deck house refrigeration and storage, plus provide a useful counter area.
Moving forward is a spacious salon with a comfortable custom-made L-shaped sofa and club chairs with storage compartments. Salon also holds an entertainment center, extensive bookshelf space, custom ceiling detail, and additional cabinetry for DVD, wine and liquor storage and bar cabinetry.
Forward of the salon is a spacious galley with excellent pantry storage in a large island with counter, with an on-deck head on the opposite side. Dividing the galley and the pilothouse is a power lifting panel located at the aft end of the pilothouse seating, which in conjunction with a pocket door from the staircase, completely separates the pilothouse. This feature is unique to 44 NORTH and is specifically designed for night running and division when required from the galley and salon area. When not in use, it allows for a complete open country-kitchen feeling.
The pilothouse has twin upgraded power pedestal Stidd helm seats, and a U-shapedsettee with a large table that can be utilized for dining or as a work space with a completely unobstructed views through the Pilothouse windows. Weathertight port and starboard doors allow for easy access to covered walk around decks.
From the pilothouse, a staircase leads down to the owner and guest accommodations. Forward is a queen-berth VIP stateroom with an ensuite head and shower. To port is a guest cabin with two twin berths and an ensuite head and shower. The king-berth master stateroom feature two spacious walk-in closets, and a marble-floored ensuite head with large shower. There is engine room access from the aft walk-in closet in the master, through a sound-insulated watertight door.
The large stand-up engine room houses engines, generators, stabilizers, ASEA voltage regulators, and other equipment, with the engineering and placement designed for easy trouble shooting and servicing.
Aft of the engine room is the crew quarters with a comfortable L-shaped seating area and a dinette table. The crew stateroom features a queen berth with an ensuite head. This crew area was built at the same high- level of fit and finish as the rest of the yacht, with beautiful cherry joinery. Aft of the crew galley is a work area, with a stainless steel work bench, 6" vice, Craftsman toolbox, storage cabinetry and access to the cockpit through a weather tight door.
The foredeck of the yacht has comfortable seating forward of the Portuguese bridge that is able to convert to a lounge. There are two independent windlasses, both with chain and two large anchors.
The flybridge and boat deck are accessed from an interior staircase in the pilothouse, as well as an exterior stair from the aft deck. The design of this 880 Outer Reef Classic series provides an extremely large and wide upper flybridge and boat deck area. Twin Stidd seats are in a position for maximum visibility fore and aft, and the large hardtop extends over the helm area and aft, over L-shaped settees to port and starboard. The flybridge seating easily accommodates ten guests, with tables for dining or entertaining. The flybridge has a full enclosure, added in 2021.
Aft of the flybridge seating is FRP cabinetry, with a Miele electric BBQ grill, new refrigerator (2023), sink and two very large built-in deck boxes to port. The boat deck is sufficiently large, with 1700lb capacity davit to carry a 15’ tender athwartships.

Some of the examples of this yachts' upgraded systems include her 96-mile 25 kw Furuno radar, (one of her two radars) which is normally found on 1000’ cruise ships, a forward Carlisle & Finch searchlight and a Kahlenberg horn. She also features an upgraded cherry interior and marble and granite throughout. Her owner, guest and crew accommodations allow for comfort at sea.
The yacht has cruised to the most remote destinations at hull speeds to optimize fuel economy, and as a result her 1001 horsepower Caterpillar C18’s, have used less than 22% of the amount of fuel that these engines are rated for. Every effort was made in preliminary and continued design sessions, before the hull construction started, to insure her for extended travel.

It was an overwhelming win for Trump as state after state pledged the votes of their delegates to him, but North Carolina was the first state not to have all their delegates aboard the Trump train.
North Carolina's Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was the one to announce the votes of the Tar Heel state's delegates. Out of the 74 votes, 62 went to Trump and the remaining 12 votes were to be cast pursuant to convention rules . North Carolina along with Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Michigan also had similar votes.
Delegates are required to vote in accordance with the outcome of their state's primary or caucus and most were bound to back Trump.
Chair of the convention House Speaker Mike Johnson announced after the roll call that 2,387 votes were cast for Trump.

But by the time North Carolina was called for their vote, Trump had already secured the Republican nomination after Florida's vote. Eric Trump delivered the delegates that formally put Trump over the top.
“On behalf of our entire family and on behalf of the 125 delegates in the unbelievable state of Florida, we hereby nominate every single one of them for the greatest president that’s ever lived, and that’s Donald J. Trump, hereby declaring him the Republican nominee for president of the United States of America,” he said.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance was named as Trump's running mate during the delegate roll call via social media. Trump revealed his pick on Truth Social .
