Tour The Black Swan , the Worldâs Most Elegant Superyacht
By Nick Mafi
Photography by Timur Bozca
As the name suggests, superyachts are meant to garner attention . From Zaha Hadidâs stunningly crafted ships to vessels featuring waterfalls , these massive floating crafts are becoming ever more exquisite in design. And the latest concept superyacht, by designer Timur Bozca, is no exception. Dubbed The Black Swan for its black exterior and graceful aesthetic, the striking structure is proof of the power of simplicity. According to Bozca, who splits time between offices in Istanbul, Milan, and London, the superyacht was crafted by connecting âsimple lines together with dramatic angles and curves.â
âUsing the powerful image of an arrow as my inspiration, I tried to create an aerodynamic exterior that would give the yacht a distinctive look, while also improving the efficiency of the craft in the water,â said Bozca in a statement. The yacht will include four engines that can generate 23,172 horsepower, hitting a top speed of 32 m.p.h. Made from aluminium and steel, the yacht features a stunning pool that funnels toward the stern and seems to disappear into the ocean. The Black Swan also includes a sundeck, balconies that are hidden from view, and a rooftop helipad.
A view of the sundeck and swimming pool.
The superyacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests across a master suite and six guest suites. The yacht is still in its initial design stage, but if built as shown, it would cost upwards of ten million dollars.

Michael Jordan's $80 Million Yacht Is a Luxury Boat Fit for the GOAT
Let's face it: The average joe, or even most above average joes for that matter, isn't going out and buying 200-foot super yachts. Only a select few of the most successful people in this world can afford such a luxury. Take the greatest player in NBA History, Michael Jordan , for example.
There's pretty much no denying it: Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Not only was he an NBA legend who won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, but the five-time MVP also turned his Jordan brand into a super-successful business, making billions of dollars for Nike and opening the door for other athletes to do the same, like LeBron James. As of today, the billionaire owner of the Charlotte Hornets' net worth puts him on the Forbes list year after year.
Now, Jordan is no stranger to boating. A while back, he bought a massive sport fishing Viking Yacht named Catch 23 . It rocked the Air Jordan 3 sneaker elephant print color scheme, and he commonly used it to compete in fishing tournaments. However, one of his more recent purchase puts his old fishing boat to shame. I mean, it is an $80 million luxury yacht after all.
Below, we'll check out what the North Carolina's native pride and Joy (that's the boat's name, by the way) has to offer.
Michael Jordan's Yacht a.k.a. Joy

Coming in at a massive 230 feet, Joy can be spotted miles and miles away. With eight different full-sized cabins onboard, the yacht can house family, friends, or anyone else worthy of staying in the Master Suite with no problem at all. Inside, you'll also find a full bar with a beautiful dining room area and a 270-degree ocean view. Of course, Jordan has also hired some of the world's finest chefs and bartenders as crew members, to serve himself and the guests while out on the water.

Along with an amazing view, the rear deck is fitted with a jacuzzi and a surrounding lounge area for hanging out or tanning. Jordan isn't the kind of person that likes to just sit around though, so it makes sense that there's also a full gym at his disposal to get the blood pumping. Those five-star meals need to get burned off somehow. Additionally, it wouldn't truly be a yacht owned by basketball player Michael Jordan without a full-sized basketball court. He may not play professionally anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't teach his guests a few lessons on the court from time to time.
When it comes down to it, Jordan is a businessman. Because of that, there's also a room that's mainly dedicated to meetings with important clients. The room is fitted with top of the line audio/visual equipment, and a satellite to give a presentation that is nearly impossible to decline. What better way to pitch your ideas than from this luxurious meeting room?
To put things in perspective, this yacht costs around $840,000 each week in order to man the ship and to keep the vessel in seaworthy condition. Not exactly a small price to pay on top of the $80 million price tag, but for the top-of-the-line amenities, it seems to be worth every penny to Jordan. He truly is living the life, pulling up to the beach club on a Caribbean island, ready to take play some 1-on-1 with anyone willing to take on the GOAT.

YACHT DESIGN
Pushing the boundaries .
Black Swan Superyacht is a luxurious 70-meter floating getaway has been designed to be as technically-advanced “under the hood” as she is mesmerizing to look at. The yacht’s arrow-shaped aerodynamic design not only ramps up her “cool quotient” – she ensures her high efficiency. The Black Swan is here to captivate those, who have the eye for style, luxury, technology and most importantly travelling by sea.
Black Swan’s four engines, capable of revving up to an impressive 23,172 in horsepower, are fueled by a staggering 183,000 liter fuel capacity. Cruising speed is around 20 knots, with a top speed of 28.
This ‘concept’ yacht has been designed with state-of-the-art technology to redefine the term experience, style and luxury, and to give her owner a supreme experience in travelling.. The hull is made of reinforced steel and the superstructure is constructed of sleek black aluminum. An on-board water tank ensures that the yacht leaves port with a supply of 38,600 liters of fresh water.
The Black Swan Superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests and a staff of 18. The master cabin and six guest cabins are decorated in earth tones with black walls and glass accents that give the décor a futuristic look, included a helipad, pool and multiple sunning decks.
Michael Jordan's $80 million yacht 'Joy', which houses 19 crew members, has a jaw-dropping $ 800,000-a-week maintenance bill
M ichael Jordan is the richest athlete in the world, and post retirement from basketball, he has indulged himself in purchasing superyachts.
In 2016, Jordan acquired the extravagant superyacht 'Joy' for $80 million. The vessel spans over 230 feet in length and 10 feet in width, featuring amenities like eight cabins, an indoor jacuzzi, a movie theater, a spa and a dining area.
Other notable features include the owner's pavilion, penthouse suite, personal office and a terrace offering a great view of the ocean. Catering to MJ's lifestyle, the yacht also has a basketball court and gym.
Maintaining the yacht does come with a hefty price, as it requires a constant crew of 19 people. Just for the weekly expenses, Jordan spends $800,000 a week and that costs $3.2 million a month. However, 'Joy' has been available for rental to anyonewilling to pay $840,000 a week.
It just shows how Michael Jordan has amassed wealth, as he's the most recent personality to enter the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest people in the United States of America.
Michael Jordan and local fishers clinched victories at MidAtlantic fishing tournament
Despite retiring two decades ago, Michael Jordan still exercises his competitive spirit by competing in the world of fishing.
The 32nd MidAtlantic fishing tournament concluded with only 11 boats venturing out on the final day due to the weather conditions. Despite the rough seas, the event had three dozen winners sharing the $5.79 million prize.
Jordan's "Catch 23" finished third with a 75-pound catch, which netted a $462,318 cash prize. Christopher Little's "Talkin Trash' claimed the overall win in the Tuna Division, while Chip Caruso's "Pipe Dreamer" dominated the Blue Marlin division.
With Jordan's venture to fishing and 23XI Racing, he continues to channel his competitive nature outside of basketball. The world's richest athlete just gained more money to burn his indulgences after selling the Charlotte Hornets for $3 billion.
Michael Jordanâs new super yacht in Mallorca
Mega yachts are flocking back to the balearics.

The original owner of the yacht was Sir Lloyd Marshall Dorfman CVO CBE, a British entrepreneur and philanthropist . He founded Travelex (today part of Finablr), the worldâs largest retailer of foreign exchange.
According to The Sunday Times Rich List in 2020, Dorfman is worth ÂŁ720 million .
Dorfman paid a price of ÂŁ87 million for the yacht, or - with historical exchange rate differences - $115 million. Its annual running costs are in the region of $10 million . The price of a yacht can vary greatly depending on a number of factors, such as the size, age and level of luxury of the yacht, as well as the materials and technology used in its construction.
The interior of MâBRACEâ is designed by Harrison Eidsgaard. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 24.
Dorfman sold her in December 2022, allegedly to the basketball legend Michael Jordan who already owned the super yacht Catch 23.
Jordan is no stranger to Mallorca , he visited the island some five years ago for a holiday.

Michael Jordanâs Yacht: Everything You Want To Know
NBA superstar and arguably the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan retired from the game years ago but still keeps busy doing all kinds of things, including sailing on his yacht . This is no toy, either, as his yacht qualifies as a superyacht and youâll see why shortly.
Before we get too deep into this itâs worth noting that the yacht weâre covering here may not actually even belong to Michael “Air” Jordan. He chartered it several times and there is a rumor that he purchased it in 2019. But we donât have 100% confirmation on that so itâs possible this is not Jordanâs yacht at all, just one he really likes. That aside, all of the details about the yacht are still accurate and youâll see why, even if Jordan didnât buy this one outright, thereâs every reason to understand why he would have, and why heâs chartered it in the past.
What Did Michael Jordan Call His Yacht?
Michael Jordanâs superyacht is called Joy and was launched back in 2016. Of course, thatâs just one of his yachts as he actually owns a smaller (but still impressive) sport fishing yacht that he named Catch-23. The name is a clever pun on the familiar saying âCatch-22â and also his jersey number 23 from when he played professional basketball. His fishing yacht cost a cool $8 million so you can imagine what the superyacht Joy must have set him back if he really is the owner. Or you can just read on to find out!
How Much Did Michael Jordanâs Yacht Cost?
Because this yacht is a remarkable, one of a kind vessel, the owner, if it is Jordan, was willing to pay to ensure he got the best of the best. Is it the most expensive yacht in the world? No, not even close. But at $80 million (some sources even say $90 million) itâs definitely no joke. Joy is not a superyacht most people would be able to afford by any means.
How Big is Michael Jordanâs Yacht?
According to most reports, Michael Jordanâs yacht clocks in at a very impressive 230 feet. Thatâs nowhere near the largest yacht in the world but itâs incredibly large nonetheless and more than twice the size of Shaquille OâNealâs yacht or Tom Bradyâs yacht .
How Fast is Michal Jordanâs Yacht?
With a pair of 1,850-horsepower engines, Joy has a cruising speed of 12 knots. At top speed it can reach 16 knots, making it on par with other yachts of this size in terms of speed. At the size itâs clearly not intended for racing or hitting high speeds.
Whatâs the Interior of Michael Jordanâs Yacht Like?
Whatâs the one feature youâd absolutely expect to find on the deck of the yacht owned by a basketball legend? Joy has what has been called a full sized basketball court for playing while cruising, so long as the motion of the ocean doesnât make this too uneven. Guess youâll have to be careful with those rebounds. To be fair, though, when you look at images and videos it only shows the one hoop so it really looks more like a half court than a full basketball court. Not that thereâs a problem with that, itâs certainly more than most yachts have.
In addition, the space is easily converted if guests are in the mood for different sports and you can play volleyball or badminton. Heck, you can even toss a football around, thereâs enough room. If it seems like that might take up too much room, donât worry. The entire yacht has five decks so thereâs plenty of room for the rust of the luxury features someone like Michael Jordan might want included.
As youâd expect on a luxury yacht of this size thereâs a large beach club at the aft of the vessel with a dive platform and everything youâd expect in your beach club area. However, when the sun goes down this space is easily converted into a club for parties and itâs decked out for just such an occasion. There are video walls, bean bag chairs and a number of video game consoles for having a good time. It also serves as a movie theatre for when you want to gather a group and watch a film. Obviously there’s a large dining room for meals as well.
Obviously, the designers included a fully equipped gym on his yacht as well but unlike some, this is a partially open air gym. That means you can take in views of the ocean and enjoy the fresh air during a workout. Of course, additional health amenities exist as well. Thereâs a spa, a masseuse, and more plus a crew of 19 to make sure it all runs smoothly. One of those crew members is the private chef as well who is said to have a Michelin star, and as youâd expect the food will be able to meet the luxury of the rest of the boat.
You can travel across the 5 decks either by the spiral staircase or a luxurious glass elevator. This can take you from the gym to quarters where youâll find seven cabins to accommodate guests. With the VIP you have eight cabins total.
The master suite offers an impressive 270 degree view of the ocean and has a private terrace if you want to go out for a closer look. The ownerâs deck is opulent in design and resembles the penthouse of a luxury hotel. It even has his and hers bathrooms so no one needs to fight over who has access to the rain showers. For more private getaways thereâs a private office for business meetings and lounge area for dining that are separated from the rest of the vessel.
Youâll also find four double cabins on board plus one twin cabin and finally a VIP stateroom. In total six time NBA champion has room for 12 guests in addition to the crew. All of the rooms are designed and decorated in a slightly different style so that people who come aboard get a chance to pick a room that appeals to their own personality rather than having a generic room that is the same as everyone elseâs.
Elsewhere on board youâll find a full bar for entertaining as well as a glass-sided deck jacuzzi for relaxing.
Throughout the yachtâs interior youâll find ocean mosaics, granite finishes and a lot of other opulent decorative touches that give it the sense of being at a resort.
When it comes to cutting loose and having a good time, the people who designed Joy didnât skimp there, either. The boat has a number of water toys including jet skis and guests can wake board, water ski, kayak and go scuba diving or snorkeling as well. Several tenders can take you to and from shore or wherever else you may need to go.
If you want to slow it down but still have fun, there are tons of inflatables that can be taken out and even a giant waterslide. If things get out of hand and someone gets in trouble donât worry, Joy even has a rescue boat.
Is Michael Jordanâs Yacht Kept at a Caribbean Island?
Much of the reason people believe that Jordan owns Joy is because he was spotted there at the Caribbean island of St. Barts with the yacht back in 2019. Most of the pics you will find online that show Jordan on the yacht are from this time period and this is where speculation that he purchased the yacht came from.
The Bottom Line
Joy is a luxury superyacht that costs as much as $80 or even $90 million. Thereâs a rumor that Michael Jordan is the owner of the yacht, and as the first billionaire athlete it’s not hard to believe, but itâs worth noting you can head to a number of yacht charter sites right now and charter this specific yacht for $700,000 per week. Would Michael Jordan let his private yacht be rented out for charters? You can decide that for yourself. Many other sites on the internet are convinced Jordan owns it but weâre not so sure just yet.
Regardless of who owns it, this massive 230 foot vessel has a basketball court on deck that can be converted for other sports or just whatever activities you feel like. There is a huge selection of water toys, space for parties, room for 12 guests, a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, a cinema and a master suite with an incredible 270 degree view of the ocean.
With a top speed of 16 knots and all the features youâd expect from a luxury hotel provided by a staff of 19, whether or not this is owned by Michael Jordan or just enjoyed by the Bulls legend, itâs easy to see why itâs such a highly prized vessel.
My grandfather first took me fishing when I was too young to actually hold up a rod on my own. As an avid camper, hiker, and nature enthusiast I'm always looking for a new adventure.

Everything You Want to Know about Michael Jordan's Yacht
For a lot of people out there, Michael Jordan was the biggest sports star of the 1990s. This is because he led the Chicago Bulls to 3 championship wins from 1991 to 1993, retired from the NBA to play some minor league baseball, and then led the Chicago Bulls to another 3 championships from 1996 to 1998. Summed up, it is no wonder that a lot of people see him as the greatest basketball player of all time, which is something that comes with a huge amount of respect, as shown by nicknames such as Air Jordan.
With that said, it is interesting to note that Jordan seems to have a fair amount of business skill as well. Certainly, he came out of the NBA as a millionaire , seeing as how he made a total of $90 million over the course of his NBA career. However, that served as a springboard and nothing more than that, as shown by what Jordan has managed to make based on the reputation that he built up. For example, Jordan was famous enough that he wound up playing the lead character in the 1996 movie called Space Jam , which might have met with a mixed response from the critics but was nonetheless such a huge success that it became the single most successful basketball movie ever. Furthermore, it is important to note that Jordan still makes tens of millions on Nike royalties on an annual basis because his shoes are still selling to a huge number of fans out there. Finally, Jordan actually became a billionaire in relatively recent times because he purchased the Charlotte Bobcats for $175 million, which is relevant because said franchise has seen a huge upswing to value to something along the lines of $750 million.
As a result, it is safe to say that Jordan has a lot of money to spend in various lavish ways. For example, he has a private jet that has been painted Carolina blue. Furthermore, he has spent more than $12 million building a home in Florida, which was in addition to real estate properties elsewhere. Finally, Jordan owns a yacht called Mr. Terrible, which is well, the exact opposite of what its name sounds like.
What Is There to Know About Michael Jordan's Yacht?
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mr. Terrible is one of the most luxurious yachts that can be found out there on the sea. In total, it measures 154 feet in length, which is enough by most ways of reckoning to make it count as a mega yacht. For those who are curious, mega yachts are essentially private yachts measuring 24 meters or more, which is big enough that they actually need a professional crew on-board. Something that more or less restricts them to a very small group of potential clients, which in turn, means that each example is very much one of a kind with nothing else that is exactly like it.
Of course, mega-yachts being mega-yachts, this means that there is more to it than just its length. For example, one of the reasons for its construction is its use on fishing trips, as shown by the facilities that can be found on-board. Moreover, it is interesting to note that Mr. Terrible actually comes with a fairly powerful underwater camera, meaning that Jordan and his guests can use it to gaze down at what is happening in the waters beneath them.
With that said, Mr. Terrible boasts other ways to support rest and relaxation as well. For example, there is a bar where people can sip their favorite beverages. Furthermore, there is an area for outdoor dining as well as an indoor dining room with an actual chandelier. On top of this, Mr. Terrible boasts a design that has drawn inspiration from Art Deco as well as tropical themes, as shown by the fact that it has incorporated tropical wood into its walls as well as a staircase that has incorporated bubinga, which is a particular kind of hardwood with a rich color that projects an almost palpable presence.
Summed up, Jordan's Mr. Terrible is a remarkable demonstration of the yacht-builder's art because he can afford to pay for the best. Something that stands as a visible reminder of how Jordan has managed to turn his basketball reputation into a net worth that makes him the third wealthiest black person from the United States.

Michael Jordan reels in a 442-pound blue marlin on his $8M yacht 'Catch 23' in fishing tournament
The yacht has already reeled in an impressive fish.
Michael Jordan took his 80-foot, $8 million convertible Viking sportfishing yacht to Morehead City, North Carolina to take part in the Big Rock Fishing Tournament. This is the NBA legend's first time competing in the tournament, which is a non-profit event to raise money for local charities.Â
The boat is named "Catch 23," a nod to his iconic number.Â
Of course, No. 23 did not miss a detail on the boat, which has his Jordan Brand elephant print along the side and a panther on the stern.Â
The graphics match his plane, because why have a yacht and a plane if you aren't going to make them coordinate, right?
Looks like Michael Jordan will be participating in this weekâs @bigrockfishing Tournament. #Catch23 pic.twitter.com/Mg650UeNPn â Talk of the Town (@1037WTIB) June 5, 2020
On Monday, the second day of the tournament, local station WITN reported that the boat brought in a 442.3-pound marlin.
According to National Geographic , marlins average anywhere from 200 to 400 pounds, but can weigh over 1,985 pounds. If M.J. wants to reel in one of those, to quote Jaws, he's gonna need a bigger boat.
Jordan is used to being crowned champion, but right now a boat called 'The Predator' is in the lead with a 494-pound blue marlin.
Up for grabs is The Fabulous Fisherman prize and $552,500, which will go to the first boat to bring in a big blue that weighs over 500 pounds.
With a net worth of over $2 billion, Jordan doesn't exactly need the money, but I'm sure he'd love to add another title to his resume.
The fishing boat has many features including a hydraulic bow thruster, a centralized seawater system, dual freshwater pumps, Veem S-class propellers and manual back-up, according to HaulOverinlet.com . It sleeps 10 guests and has a top speed of 48 mph.
This is not Jordan's only boat, his other vessel is an $80 million, 230-foot yacht that reportedly costs $840,000 a week to operate.
Jordan does a lot more with his money than purchase impressive boats, however. Just last week he committed to donating $100 million over ten years to help organizations that "ensure racial equality, social justice and greater access to education."

Black Swan Superyacht
With just one look at this sleek black concept Black Swan superyacht by uk-based Turkish designer Timur Bozca, it’s hard not to conjure up images of James Bond cruising away in it
(accompanied by a beautiful, bikinied babe, of course) after leaving one of his villains such as Blofeld or Dominic Greene in the dust.
This luxurious 70-meter floating getaway has been designed to be as technically-advanced “under the hood” as it is mesmerizing to look at. The yacht’s arrow-shaped aerodynamic design not only ramps up its “cool quotient” â it ensures its high efficiency. Its four engines, capable of revving up to an impressive 23,172 in horsepower, are fueled by a staggering 183,000 liter fuel capacity. Cruising speed is around 20 knots, with a top speed of 28. The hull is made of reinforced steel and the superstructure is constructed of sleek black aluminum. An on-board water tank ensures that the yacht leaves port with a supply of 38,600 liters of fresh water.
Now, let’s talk luxury. The Black Swan superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests and a staff of 18. The master cabin and six guest cabins are decorated in earth tones with black walls and glass accents that give the dĂŠcor a futuristic look. Bozca also thoughtfully included a helipad, pool and multiple sunning decks.
It would hardly be surprising if guests lucky enough to be invited to sail on the Black Swan superyacht were to be shaken (by its breathtaking black silhouette) and stirred (by its sumptuous style).

TAKE a look aboard the GOAT's boat as Michael Jordan leads a lush lifestyle with modes of transportation like this.
The NBA icon owns a jaw-dropping super yacht named Joy which is valued at a gaudy âŹ70m.
He bought the luxurious vessel in 2019, that sits alongside his ÂŁ6million fishing boat Catch 23.
Immediately, he sailed to the Caribbean island of St Barts with the pals to enjoy it.
On board, it has amenities, including a deck jacuzzi, gym, and a stunning dining room.
Better still, Joy also boasts a full basketball court for Jordan to show guests he's still got it.
Jordan became the first billionaire athlete in 2015, and still earns around ÂŁ120million-per-year from Nike in endorsements, so a lavish purchase was always on the horizon.
Four years later he splashed around ÂŁ60million on this yacht, which comes with all the trimmings over five decks.
Measuring 230 feet long, it boasts eight cabins fit for a king with each accessible by a lift.
Each has been decorated with ocean mosaics, like skylights and bathrooms with granite finishes. And they are equipped with their own rain showers.
It offers a 270 degree ocean view, and is glass insulated to keep out the cold overnight and on chilly days.

Up to 12 guests and a crew of 19 can be on board at one time.
The running costs for the yacht are estimated around ÂŁ600,000 per-week.
But, aside from the lavish bedrooms, there's plenty of on offer to do onboard Joy.
There is a full bar and dining room, which Jordan will pay the world's best chefs and drink mixologists to wine and dine him when he's travelling the ocean.
And there is a jacuzzi, which can be found on deck and enjoyed as you overlook the St Thomas and Caribbean islands' coasts.
Despite retiring from the NBA in 2003, Jordan still likes to keep himself fit, in lieu of the odd cigar.
That's why he has a state-of-the-art gym to workout in on Joy.
However, the most incredible thing we've ever seen on a boat is his full-scale basketball court.
You can be sure he reminds his guests who the GOAT is on the court.
