Luxury Motor Yacht Starship can comfortably accommodate 11 guests in five spacious staterooms all with en-suite facilities and full entertainment facilities including TV/DVD/CD players. Her main master stateroom has a king size bed, a walk-in closet, an en-suite bathroom with shower and a 30” flat screen TV/DVD&CD as well as a comfortable sitting area. She also has a further 4 guest staterooms; two with king sized double beds, one with a queen (with Pullman) and the last with twin beds. All the guest cabins have full electronic entertainment, including 22’ flat screens.

Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 3,201 nautical miles from her 52,990 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. With a shallow draft of 1.96m/6'5" Starship can anchor closer to coves and sheltered bays overnight. Starship features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

When not cruising Starship has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Principle among these are waterslides for hours of fun for all ages. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the five Yamaha VX 110 Deluxe WaveRunners. Also there are towable toys offering fun and adventure. If that isn't enough Starship also features waterskis, a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks, WindSurfers. Chris Wallace - Captain Languages Spoken: English Captain Chris, originally from the south of England, has been in yachting for 20+ years. His favorite things about yachting include navigation, challenges, water sports, and meeting all the great people. He got into yachting by virtue of helping people with boats in his local marina. After a while, people started paying him to help and he soon discovered all the benefits that come with a career in yachting. So, he sold everything he had (except his windsurfing gear), got licensed, and went and got his first job as an engineer on the classic, Moonmaiden II. A fun fact about Captain Chris, when he finished college, he moved to the Canary Islands and lived in a tent on the beach for 2 years. Also, at 17 years old, he came 2nd in the under 19’s national windsurf championships in the UK. Finally, he loves telling Dad jokes, as he often finds they make him laugh! Carla - Mate Languages: English Carla has been in yachting for 9 years and hails from South Africa. Her favorite yachting activity is Scuba diving and, is how she found her way into yachting! Carla is a PADI certified open water instructor and holds a 200 Ton Yacht Master License. A fun fact about Carla is she used to teach kids how to ride horses and really likes cake, yum! Jess - Chef Languages Spoken: English Jess grew up on the border of North Wales and Shropshire but spent a lot of time on the coast near Abersoch where she now has a vacation cottage. She has been working in the yachting industry for 10 years, traveling between the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and USA. Her favorite yachting activity is scuba diving and experiencing all the beauty of the underwater world. Along with completing culinary school in 2018, chef also holds a power boat level 2 cert, has completed multiple sailing courses, is a PADI advanced open water diver, and holds a wine and spirit certification. Jess made her way into yachting at the age of 18 while working in a high-end restaurant and looking into courses in hospitality. One day, her mum heard from someone about a yachting opportunity. They eagerly investigated the opportunity and booked a 5-week course in the Isle of Wight; the rest is history! A fun fact about chef is she has visited half of the states in the U.S. Dani - Chief Stew Languages Spoken: English, Thai Dani has been yachting for five and a half years now. She grew up between Indiana and California. Dani made her way into yachting when a friend of hers, who spent a substantial amount of time in the British Virgin Isles for work, told Dani about the exciting stories she heard from her friends there in yachting. Dani thought their job sounded amazing and was already working in hospitality at the time. That, coupled with her love of traveling, made a career in yachting seem like a natural fit. So, after doing some research, she made the move to South Florida to embark on an exciting new career! Dani just loves being in the water. Whether it’s just swimming, snorkeling, or paddle boarding, the water is where she finds her bliss. A fun fact about Dani is she comes from a big family with 6 brothers and sisters, so she was already used to living with several people and the chaos that ensues in a big family! This helped prepare her for life in a small crew mess with her big boat fam! Sarah lee Alcock - 2nd Stewardess Education/Certifications: Bachelor of Commerce Marketing Management - IMM Graduate School, Stellenbosch RSA, STCW Basic + PDSD, ENG 1, SYSA Interior Introduction Course, RYA Power Boat level II, SYSA Food Service Introduction, SAS Skipper’s License, SYSA Wine and Cocktail Introduction, MCA/Highfield Food Health Safety Level II Languages: English, Afrikaans Sarah grew up in Knysna, a small town in South Africa located right in front of the sea and lagoon. As a child, she and her brother who is also in yachting, spent the majority of their time on boats. Sarah first entered yachting in 2020 and hasn’t been back home since. She has always been fascinated with the industry after watching a number of her friends become yachties. When she finished studying for her BCom Degree, she decided to do her yachting courses and see what the yachting world was about. Sarah brings along her love and dedication for being a Stewardess. She thrives off the fast pace and pressure this job entails and strives for perfection in everything that she does. Sarah loves serving and engaging with the guests, coming up with creative table settings, and teaching new aspiring stewardesses all the knowledge she has gathered this far. She is known to be a positive personality, keeping fellow crew members in high spirits throughout each day. In her spare time Sarah enjoys running, swimming, kitesurfing, cross country cycling, sewing, knitting, playing field hockey, and socializing with friends. Sarah wants guests to look at every table setting, every meal, every drink made, and the attention to detail given in their cabins and common areas, and be wowed at service and experience the crew has provided. Mikaela - 3rd Stew Languages Spoken: English, Conversational Spanish Mikaela is originally from South Africa, 4 years ago her family moved to the States and so began her yachting career. She is a pastry Chef by trade who studied culinary arts and advanced pastry at 1000 Hills chef school for 2 years. Her sweet nature and hard work ethic make her an extremely valuable member of the team. Mikaela has been on Starship since Feb 2019 and is excited to continue her yachting career with hopes of more travel and one day becoming a chief stewardess. James - Chief Engineer Languages: English James was raised in Newport, South Wales, and has been yachting 6 years while working on cruise ships prior. James holds a SV 9000/3000KW Second Engineer Unlimited. James’ favorite yachting activity is most definitely the Jetski, he loves to go fast! James made his way into yachting after spending 5 years working on cruise ships and looking to make a change. He always heard about the exciting opportunities yachting held and decided to make the jump in 2016. A fun fact about James is as a child, he was a very talented bass trombonist. He e achieved 8th grade standard and played in several reginal and national ensembles. Brian Hopton - Deckhand Education/Certifications: Retailing and Computer Sciences - University of Arizona Languages Spoken: English Brian was born and raised 45 minutes north of LA in Woodland Hills. Always having a passion for travel, he decided to join the yachting industry in 2019. Prior to yachting, he was in the hospitality industry working for the Mariott for five years. Onboard Brian is responsible for orchestrating and capturing all the fun that’s to be had. He is the videographer and photographer that provides guests with moments to last a lifetime. Currently, Brian is working towards his 100 ton USCG license. In his spare time, you can find Brian golfing, surfing, playing pickleball, and did we mention golfing? Brain can’t wait to host his next guests to provide them with a new level of fun and discovery onboard 143’ STARSHIP. Dane - Bosun Languages: English Dane has been in yachting for almost four years now. He grew up between South Africa, the U.K. and Zimbabwe. Dane was introduced to yachting by a few of his close friends who were working in the industry. It sounded like something he would enjoy doing so he jumped in. Danes favorite yachting activities are Snorkeling and water sports. He holds an AEC1, Yachtmaster, EDH, Yacht Rating and Padi open water certification. A fun fact about Dane is he used to be a pretty good juggler!

Her refit in 2020-2021 included the main engines top end rebuilt, complete through hull valve replacement, over $450,000 in paint and polishing and much more. Hull and Superstructure

Her hull is of all welded aluminum construction using all marine grade aluminum with a fiberglass superstructure. All the cutting, fitting, and welding work is done to very high standards. Her superstructure is fiberglass bolted to the aluminum deck via a fiberglass flange and secured with 3M 5200 marine adhesive. There is an aluminum structure up into the fiberglass in some areas. She is built on 41 frames with 41 being the transom, 0 being the forward watertight bulkhead, plus 7 frames to the bow. She has 8 main longitudinals plus the keelson.

She has carbon fiber in various high-stress areas. The fiberglass superstructure is bolted to a fiberglass flange, which is bolted to the aluminum deck and bonded with 5200. There are bolts on 4" centers in the flange to the fiberglass and on 8" centers in the fiberglass to the aluminum. All the fiberglass work is done to very high standards. She is well-faired.

Walkthrough

Entering from the swim platform or passarelle there are port and starboard stairs leading up to the main deck aft. The transom opens to reveal a beach club that contains a bathroom, full bar, and storage for water toys. Summit furniture with newly upholstered cushions in a Sunbrella, stunning outdoor performance fabric. Up on the main deck aft there is a large seating area with U-shaped seating aft, two fixed tables, two overhead 42” television sets, and a large open area with movable seating that is often converted to a dance floor.

Forward to port are stairs leading up to the bridge deck. To centerline are double sliding doors to the main salon. Upon entering there is a bathroom to starboard and a stew pantry to port. A spiral staircase in the center aft leads down to four guest staterooms. Two king rooms to starboard and two twin rooms to port. Each of the twin rooms have two queen beds and the rooms are oversized.

Forward on the main deck to starboard is the main dining table for 12 guests, to port is the main salon with four lounge chairs and a couch. Forward center past the salon to port is another bathroom and to starboard leads forward to a stairway to port that leads up to the skylounge. Further forward to starboard is the entrance to the owner’s suite which is full beam with oversized his and hers bathrooms forward and a Jacuzzi tub and shower all the way forward. In the port side of the owner’s suite is a large desk and on the forward bulkhead is a large flatscreen television.

Back to the spiral staircase leading up to the skylounge there is a bathroom to port and the upper pantry just aft. Moving aft is the skylounge with full bar to starboard and oversized seating to port. Fully upholstered L-shape sectional with cozy chenille fabric and custom storage ottoman with tray top. The skylounge has exceptionally large windows and the aft bulkhead is glass sliding doors that lead to an outside bar and centerline dining table for twelve.

Forward of the skylounge stairway are stairs leading up to the sixth stateroom. A queen size bed facing forward with 180-degree windows provides incredible views. Aft to starboard is the entrance to a large full-width bathroom that includes a shower, bidet, toilet, and his and her sinks.

Back on the aft skylounge deck to port are stairs leading up to the sundeck which has an enormous Jacuzzi for 10 guests plus barstool seating and marble bar tops on the perimeter. Chaise lounges are aft, and a full bar and grill are to starboard forward. All the way forward is a door with stairway leading up to a crow’s nest for sunbathing or as a great observation area.

Owner Suite

Entering to port all the way forward on the main deck there are two Queen Anne chairs with table to starboard and a king-size bed facing forward with mahogany nightstands and gold table lamps. To port is a large desk in the shape of a half-moon with a new Edelman leather inlaid panel and on the forward bulkhead is a flatscreen television. There are very large windows with light-colored marble bases to port and starboard. On either side of the bed, you enter his and hers bathrooms. Hers is to starboard with a sink that has gold fixtures and a separate room with a toilet and bidet. Aft of the main changing area are closets and all the way aft is a Jacuzzi tub and full shower. Intricate stone patterned details on the floors incorporate Kashmir gold granite with outlines of Verde granite & Perlato Suevo marble. Kashmir gold granite in the tub, vanity tops & shower. Continuing around to port is his bathroom area with closets, a separate bathroom, and bidet room, and sink with gold fixtures. Plumbing fixtures have classic gold detail by Serdanelli Paris. Wood species throughout include Mahogany with gold leaf accents. Passage door hardware is gold with tiger’s eye inserts by Serdanelli Paris. Wall panels are upholstered in a beautiful taupe Stroheim fabric.

Upper Deck VIP Stateroom

Just forward of the skylounge landing area is a private spiral staircase leading up to the first VIP stateroom where you land in the middle of the room and immediately notice the incredible 180-degree views forward. A small table is to port and a desk with chair is to starboard. Aft is a queen size bed with nightstands and sconces above each. A Crestron iPad system is docked for all entertainment needs. To starboard aft is a hanging closet and aft to port is a full-size bathroom with toilet, bidet, newly refit head with a Taj Mahal quartz walk-in shower, and his and hers sinks with marble counter and ample storage below. Forward VIP Stateroom

Aft in the main salon and down the spiral staircase in the center to the landing you go all the way forward to the VIP 2 stateroom where you find a king-size bed, mahogany nightstands with gold lamps, and hanging closet. A crème plush Fabrica carpet brightens the room and a 32” Samsung flatscreen television is in the cabinet across from the bed. The bathroom is furthest forward in the room with a separate room for the toilet and bidet. The main bathroom has a large walk-in marble shower as well as his and hers sinks and plenty of storage.

Aft VIP Stateroom

Moving all the way aft in the lower landing you enter the 3rd VIP stateroom which is a mirror image of the Forward VIP.

Guest Stateroom 4

Back to the landing and just to port is the fourth stateroom with twin queen beds with a nightstand in the center as this is a very large suite. A Crestron iPad entertainment system is on the nightstand and a 32” Samsung flatscreen television is across from this above a mahogany dresser. A hanging locker is next to this aft and further aft is the entrance to the bathroom which has marble floors and walls up to the chair rail. A separate room for the toilet and bidet and large walk-in marble shower are to one side with his and her sinks with gold fixtures across from this.

Guest Stateroom 5

Forward in the landing to port is the 5th guest stateroom which mirrors stateroom 4.

Main Deck Entrance Foyer

The main deck entrance foyer is through a pair of double doors which are dogged and gasketed from the starboard side deck. The foyer is finished out with polished stone soles. In-boards are circular stairs up to the bridge and salon deck. Aft is a passageway to the dining salon. Forward is a door that gives access to the owner’s stateroom. Inboard forward is a door to the athwartships crew companionway.

Main Salon and Dining Area

The dining and main salon is one common spaces. Starting forward to port is a sliding pocket door that gives access into the galley. Just aft is a door that leads into a day head. The day head is fit with polished stone soles with custom built-in wood overheads. There is a wood vanity with a stone top and undermount sink, and a toilet.

To starboard in the main salon/dining salon area is a large oval shaped varnished wood table with seating for 12. Outboard port and starboard are large, fixed windows. To port is cushioned furniture for the salon. Centerline aft is a set of curved carpeted overlay stairs leading down to the guest accommodations. Outboard port and starboard are built-in storage lockers. Starboard side aft is a day head. The day head has polished stone soles and built-in wood vanity with sink. There is a toilet provided. To port aft is a door into a stew pantry. The stew pantry has polished stone soles with vinyl overheads. There is an L-shaped Corian-type countertop with built-in storage above and below.

The skylounge can be accessed via sliding doors aft from the bridge deck aft or forward to starboard from the bridge deck foyer. This space has polished stone soles and vinyl and wooden recessed overheads. Seen in the overheads are flush-mount lights, flush-mount speakers, and two optical smoke detectors. Outboard port and starboard are large, fixed windows with shades. To starboard is a built-in bar with polished stone tops and undermount sink to port aft is a card table and two chairs. Below the bar is built-in storage and a Perlick drink refrigerator and Perlick bin-type icemaker. To port is a large seating area with an L-shaped couch and two loosely laid cushioned seats. There is a wooden and glass coffee table provided. Port and starboard side aft are built-in cabinets for storage.

Skylounge Deck Stew Pantry

The skylounge deck stew pantry is accessed to port forward from the skylounge. This space has polished stone soles and vinyl overheads. Seen in the overheads are flush mount lights and an optical smoke detector. There are built-in cabinets for storage with Corian-type countertops.

Bridge Deck Foyer

The bridge deck foyer is accessed aft from the skylounge, forward through a set of double doors from the wheelhouse, or to port inboard via a set of carpeted overlay curved stairs leading up from the main deck foyer. Outboard to starboard are large, fixed windows. Inboard forward of the curved stairs is a door that gives access to the upper guest stateroom. Just aft of the stairs is a door into a day head. This day head is finished with polished stone soles and vinyl overheads. There is a toilet and vanity with a polished stone countertop with undermount sink provided.

The wheelhouse is accessible from the upper salon starboard side or stairs off the athwartships passageway forward of the galley. There is a large console forward surrounded by nine vertical windows. Five of the windows have washers and wipers. The windows are fitted with blinds. Port and starboard side are dogged and gasketed side deck doors. There is an approximate 230° visibility from the helm area. Mounted at the console are two Recaro pedestal mount helm chairs. Aft are two raised lounges with tables. Aft of the wheelhouse is a glass-enclosed navigation and communications office with desk and chair. Forward are the stairs down to the athwartships crew companionway.

Captain's Cabin

Aft to port of the communications office is the captain’s cabin with oversized bunk and large window and a desk and chair. Aft is a marble head with toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower.

Crew Quarters

The crew rooms are located forward on the lower deck. There are (4) separate crew cabins each with (2) twin-size berths and a head with shower, toilet, and vanity. All the way forward is a curved stairwell with twin bunks on the starboard side and enclosed head and shower forward. Access to the anchor windlasses is via a removable panel in the shower on the starboard side and through the hanging closet on the port side. Starboard side aft of the crew cabins is a laundry room. Seen in the laundry room is a ThermalRite stainless steel freezer, a dual stainless steel refrigerator, (2) Miele washers and (2) Miele dryers.

The crew mess is accessed aft through a dogged and gasketed door from the control room or to port via a set of curved carpet overlay stairs with stainless steel handrails leading down from the crew companionway. Outboard to port is a crew cabin. There is a U-shaped cushioned seating area with a table provided.

Ground Tackle

There are (2) Steen windlasses type 23-2-50-1 with warping drums. They are powered with three-phase electric motors that are accessed in the forward crew cabin and have handheld remote pendants. The anchors are Pool HHP N-type and anchor chain is 7/8 (22mm) galvanized chain with 450 feet each side.

Tender Garage/Beach Club

The tender garage/beach club is entered port side forward down from the aft deck through a teak overlay dogged and gasketed hatch. There are teak overlay treads with stainless steel handrail provided. The tender garage is finished with teak overlay decking and solid painted panel overheads. The tender garage is protected via two rate-of-rise heat/smoke detectors and an explosive fume detector. The bilges are protected by a bilge high-level water alarm and can be pumped via the main bilge manifold. Forward are built-in cabinets for storage. There is a large Samsung television for entertainment. Aft of the tender garage is a hydraulically actuated transom door that gives access to the swim platform. Port side is a small wet bar area. Aft of the wet bar area is a head with toilet and vanity with sink. Port side below the steps is access into the steering gear compartment.

Starboard side is a door that gives access into the electrical room/technical space. There is a laminate counter on port and starboard sides of the room with a Miele washer and Miele dryer under counter in cabinets along the inboard wall. Seen in the technical space aft is crawl space access through an access hatch and ring frame into the stern thruster bilge compartment.

• Specifications

The 49m (160.7ft) HOME was built in full aluminium to ABS classification and delivered by Dutch shipyard Heesen in 2017. She is the first yacht to combine Van Oossanen’s super-efficient FDHF hull design with hybrid propulsion, reducing fuel costs, emissions, noise and vibration. With a beam of 9m (29.5ft) and interior volume of 499GT, she is a popular charter yacht but would suit private use well.

HOME blends Northern European credentials with Italian style. Her exteriors are by Omega Architects and her minimalist Ibiza style interiors are by Cristiano Gatto, who has created spaces that blur the distinction between inside and out. Use of extensive floor to ceiling glass and interior teak decking in the sky lounge create a genuine beach club feel.

A large sun deck has sun loungers forward with privacy glass safety screens. Beneath the hardtop is a large sit-up bar to port and a lounge area to starboard, which could convert into a dining area. Aft is a jacuzzi. The upper deck aft has open air dining shaded by the overhang and a sun lounge aft, and walkaround sidedecks lead to the foredeck. The main deck aft has L-shaped banquettes port and starboard around coffee tables and a central staircase leads down to a huge swim platform that doubles as a sea level sun lounge. Behind a door, steps lead to an air conditioned gym and dayhead.

Her sky lounge has bean bags, daybeds and a bar with light cascading through huge windows onto the teak decking. The main saloon has dark hardwood flooring with a relaxed lounge aft and a formal dining area forward, both with fabulous light and views, a media lounge without full height windows.

The full beam main deck owner’s suite also features full height windows for incredible views and natural light at anchor. The suite has has a dressing room, en suite with shower, and a private office. On the lower deck a full beam VIP cabin, two double cabins and two twin cabins complete family friendly accommodation for 12 guests in six cabins. She also sleep up to 10 crew.

Twin 805hp MTU main diesel engines, two generators and two e-motors combine to give her four propulsion modes: from ‘hybrid’, where generators alone drive e-motors up to nine knots, to ‘boost’ for a top speed of 16.8 knots. Tenders and toys are stowed on the foredeck with a deck crane for launch. She has a maximum range of 2,760nm and Naiad zero speed stabilisers provide comfort at anchor on arrival.

There is a pool, a well-equipped gym, and plenty of areas for socializing and al fresco dining opportunities.

There is an abundance of options for sunbathing on the YALLA. The garage has a limousine tender and many water toys that offer fun and action while aboard the yacht.

The interior of the YALLA yacht was a finalist for The ShowBoats Design Awards 2015 for Interior Design in a Motor Yacht over 500GT.

The exterior of the YALLA yacht was a finalist for the Naval Architecture Award on a Displacement Motor Yacht and the Exterior Design & Styling Award on a Motor Yacht over 500GT at The ShowBoats Design Awards 2015.

The external profile of this vessel has been designed by Omega Architects, in close collaboration with the CRN Engineering Department which developed the naval project, while their interiors have been created by Droulers Architecture, which has worked in close collaboration with the shipyard’s Interiors and Design Office.

The new megayacht, the first to be built by CRN on the new naval platform of 12.50 metres in width, is characterized by sleek, slender and sporty lines, which make the profile particularly streamlined. With 5 decks, M/Y CRN 132 73 m can host up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including the Owner Suite and Vip cabins, together with a crew of 22 members.

The construction of this new jewel of the sea, which includes the best design solutions realized by CRN, has required around 430,000 hours of work from the shipyard workers and subcontractors and the daily contribution of over 150 direct and indirect workers.

Off the Hook Yachts Acquires 300-Slip Marina in Georgetown Maryland  

The Acquisition 

Off the Hook Yachts is proud to announce the acquisition of Georgetown Yacht Basin (GYB) now rebranding under Georgetown Yacht Haven – a 300-boat slip full-service marina located on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, MD.  Off the Hook plans to restore the yacht basin to its former glory and reconnect with the local community in order to establish it as a household name in the area. 

As our founder is originally from Maryland, this will complement our current presence in the area, along with our MD sales team, which currently operates out of Bay Bridge Marina. The acquisition of the marina will allow us to expand on sales, service, and custom-built Nor-Tech Performance Boat sales in the region. Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds that can hold up to a 110-foot yacht, a 110-ton travel lift, a fuel dock, a swimming pool, bathhouses, and a complete ship store, along with many other amenities. GYH controls the largest travel lift in Northern Chesapeake Bay.

73m superyacht Yalla launched by CRN

Italian yacht builder CRN has launched its 73m superyacht Yalla .

CRN welcomed more than 1,000 guests to the launching ceremony of CRN 132 Yalla , held late this morning at its shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The launch ceremony included speeches from Alberto Galassi, new CEO of the Ferretti Group , Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN, Xinyu Xu, Vice-chairman of Weichai Group, and the Mayor of Ancona Valeria Mancinelli.

Part of the Ferretti Group,  CRN  specialises in custom yachts up to 90 metres in steel and aluminium. Yalla is the first yacht built by CRN on its new 12.5m beam platform. More than 430,000 hours from CRN and its subcontractors were spent on Yalla 's build, with contributions from 150 employees.

Exterior styling comes from Omega Architects in The Netherlands, in close collaboration with the CRN Engineering Department. The five-deck motor yacht features sleek, sporty lines and a streamlined profile. Superyacht Yalla 's interiors are by Droulers Architecture, working with CRN's Interiors and Design Office. She hosts up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including an owner's suite and VIP cabins, along with 22 crew members.

'Following the launch of CRN 133 61m superyacht a few months ago, we are proud to celebrate the launch of the new Yalla of 73m, which represents a challenge and an objective for the whole CRN shipyard,' says Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN. ' Yalla will mark another important result for the development of CRN in the world. A sincere thanks for the trust of the owner and for the work of all employees and subcontractors who have worked on the project, to the architects Franck Laupman of Omega Architects and to Droulers Architecture. I also thank our shareholder Weichai Group and the new CEO of the Group Alberto Galassi for their participation in this important event for CRN and for the whole Ferretti Group.'

The Ferretti Group currently has five superyachts underway at the Ancona shipyard, including the 74m CRN 131, 55m CRN 134, a Ferretti Custom Line CL 124, the 61m CRN 133 and the Riva 122 Mythos , which are at the delivery stage.

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.

Off the Hook Yachts Acquires 300-Slip Marina in Georgetown Maryland  

The Acquisition 

Off the Hook Yachts is proud to announce the acquisition of Georgetown Yacht Basin (GYB) now rebranding under Georgetown Yacht Haven – a 300-boat slip full-service marina located on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, MD.  Off the Hook plans to restore the yacht basin to its former glory and reconnect with the local community in order to establish it as a household name in the area. 

As our founder is originally from Maryland, this will complement our current presence in the area, along with our MD sales team, which currently operates out of Bay Bridge Marina. The acquisition of the marina will allow us to expand on sales, service, and custom-built Nor-Tech Performance Boat sales in the region. Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds that can hold up to a 110-foot yacht, a 110-ton travel lift, a fuel dock, a swimming pool, bathhouses, and a complete ship store, along with many other amenities. GYH controls the largest travel lift in Northern Chesapeake Bay.

Harvard men’s basketball star freshman point guard Malik Mack will transfer to the Georgetown Hoyas next year, a major blow to a Crimson squad for which Mack was one of the sole bright spots last season.​

Mack, who declined to comment on his decision to transfer, was a standout player for Head Coach Tommy Amaker for the 2023-2024 campaign, who had heavily recruited Mack prior to his decision to attend Harvard.

The Crimson’s longtime coach congratulated Mack in a statement on Wednesday.

“I know this was a difficult but very thoughtful decision,” Amaker wrote. “I support him, I am very proud of him and I love him.”

After rebounding from mononucleosis this past fall, Mack went on to earn eight-straight Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors, a feat matched by only three other players – Michael Jordan, Adam Gore, and Evan Boudreaux. Made even more impressive by his shortened season, Mack set the single-season freshman point record for the Crimson with 413.

Mack was lethal on the offense for Harvard, scoring double digit figures in all but three games in his campaign while averaging 17.2 points, four rebounds, and 4.8 assists. Leading the Crimson in assists, points, free throw percentage, minutes per game, and steals, the freshman was awarded First-Team and Rookie of the Year ECAC honors. Mack also ended the season with the Ivy League Rookie of the Year accolade.

He will depart Cambridge with three years of eligibility to play for the Hoyas, who went 22-73 over the past three seasons. The Georgetown team is led by Ed Cooley who just wrapped up his second season at the helm of the squad. Mack’s decision to join Georgetown’s roster will be a boon to Cooley’s rebuilding efforts.

The commitment to Georgetown comes three weeks after Mack entered the transfer portal . His departure was the subject of speculation for months as Mack was expected to explore Name, Image, and Likeless deals at another school.

Mack and his family have previously spoken about weighing the benefits of a Harvard degree against the financial pressures of not having an athletic scholarship or the potential to make money through an NIL collective—an independent group funded by donors that pays players.

Harvard, and other Ivy League schools, currently has no NIL collectives—unlike Georgetown where Mack could make up to high six-figures. While the school can’t restrict donors from forming a collective, Harvard Athletic Director Erin McDermott said in a recent interview with The Crimson last week that she hasn’t heard of any interest in forming one.

Mack’s decision to transfer would confirm concerns from some alumni that Harvard’s lack of NIL collectives could cause the school to lose top talent.

McDermott acknowledged in the interview that not having an NIL collective might hurt Harvard’s competitiveness in men’s basketball, but noted that the school has historically stayed competitive despite not offering athletic scholarships.

Mack’s departure, however, will force Amaker to get creative as he looks to field a competitive team that can end the Crimson’s recent streak of missing the Ivy League Madness tournament. The Crimson have finished 5-9 in Ivy League play in each of the past three seasons.
