Elsea is a custom motor yacht launched in 2017 by CCN, in Italy.

It was true, deep love for the sea and for yachts that, in 1997, spurred Carlo Cerri to invest his huge experience as a successful businessman into building the world-class powerboat Cerri 28: limited size, a painstaking care for details, functionality, ergonomics, clean lines and finely-finished pleasant interiors were some of the keys to this motor boat’s huge success.

Elsea measures 49.90 metres in length and has a beam of 9.30 feet. She has a deck material of teak.

Elsea has an aluminium hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Her interior design is by Studio Vafiadis.

Elsea also features naval architecture by Andrea Bacigalupo.

Elsea , CCN’s first-ever performance superyacht , will premiere next month at the Cannes Yachting Festival . The 164-footer, which features a lightweight aluminum alloy hull, will stand out among the others on Superyacht Row for its aggressive, sleek profile and top end of 30 knots. The exterior by Studio Bacigalupo features a sporty, low-riding superstructure with a curved section aft that looks like a jaunty tail. A huge foredeck was designed for social occasions, featuring a U-shaped lounge for eight, table, and a group of sunbeds. The area is proportionately larger than most other yachts in that range.

The upper deck is also noteworthy, with its enclosed pilothouse and saloon forward, and aft sky deck for full-impact outdoor living. Openings in the hardtop provide climate control or sunlight during alfresco meals or a swim in the pool. The exterior provides a seamless connection with the upper saloon, with its own circular sofa and its own bathroom. Another day head is part of the spacious beach club at the transom. A day head sounds like the most unglamorous feature on a superyacht, but including one makes a huge difference in quality of life onboard. Two make it a very special yacht indeed.

The Studio Vafiadis interior draws on an updated art-deco theme, using mirroring surfaces, fine hardwoods, onyx, Lalique crystal details, and custom fabrics that work well with the furniture and other decor. Because Elsea is all about speed, the stones and woods were cut to razor-thin veneers, with lightweight balsa and other modern materials as backing materials to keep weight as low as possible. Besides the 30-knot top end, Elsea cruises at a very impressive 25 knots.

The six-stateroom layout includes five large guest cabins and a full-beam master suite that comprises most of the forward section. The main saloon is spacious, defined by a generous social area aft and a dining table for 12. Imperial Yacht, which oversaw the construction, ensured that Elsea had one of the most impressive audio systems on any yacht, per the owner’s request. He wanted a Riviera-inspired look to his yacht with a sound system that would rival the best nightclubs of Ibiza. After Cannes, Elsea will also be shown at the Monaco Yacht Show.

CCN superyacht Elsea begins sea trials

The 49.9 metre  Cerri Cantiere Navali  flagship superyacht  Elsea  has been pictured under power for the first time during her pre-delivery sea trials.

Built from an aluminium semi-planing hull with an aggressive, slender profile,  Elsea  is powered by a triple MTU 16V 2000M94 engine set-up that the yard estimates will return a top speed of 27 knots. As this new image shows, she is also highly manoeuvrable with a very tight turning circle for her length.

Sold in February 2016 by  Imperial Yachts , who also provided project management services,  Elsea  is a fully custom project that features exterior styling by  Studio Bacigalupo  and interior décor from  Studio Vafiadis .

Speaking last year Diego Michele Deprati, CEO of the yard, said: “ Elsea was an important challenge for us as it opens up a new course. It is the first one-of-a-kind motor yacht that marks CCN’s debut in the world of bespoke projects — unique masterpieces that respond to the customers’ requirements for full customisation."

Accommodation is for ten guests in five staterooms, including an owner's cabin , a VIP suite, two doubles and a twin room. Meanwhile, the crew quarters allows for a staff of up to 11 people.

The two saloons feature contrasting styles: the lower saloon boasts formal dining space for 12, while the upper saloon is a more warm and cosy affair, fitted with a large circular sofa — ideal for hosting movie nights.

CCN officially rebranded itself to the public in September 2015. The yard announced a new line of displacement hull explorer yachts, including the Navetta ‘pocket superyacht’ , which is one of the yachts that prove that bigger is not always better . Tomasso Spadolini designed a 35 and a 27 metre version of the Navetta, as well as the rugged looking 35 metre Phileas.

Despite these new undertakings for CCN, the yard will also continue to build the fast GRP yachts that made it famous, including the restyled 102 Flyingsport and 86 Flyingsport lines.

Cerri Cantieri Navali launches 50m M/Y Elsea

The all-aluminium yacht is the italian boatbuilder’s first full-custom build….

The semi-planing yacht designed by Studio Bacigalupo with interiors by Studio Vafiadis is a significant project for CCN, which has chosen to go down the full-custom route since being acquired in 2011 by the Gavio Group, which also owns the Baglietto and Bertram brands.

“ Elsea is an important challenge for us as it opens up new course for the shipyard,” confirmed Diego Deprati, CCN’s CEO. “It is the first one-of-a-kind motoryacht which marks CCN’s debut in the world of 'Fuoriserie' [custom] world-class bespoke projects.”

The new yacht has an aggressive, slender profile and a modern “Deco” interior style with five guest cabins plus a spacious owner’s suite. Powered by three MTU 16V2000M94 main engines, she has a top speed of 27 knots and cruises at 18 knots.

“Imperial is proud to launch the very first custom-made 50m CCN superyacht in strong collaboration with the yard, helping them to upgrade their capacities and reaching a new level in high-end creation,” said Julia Stewart, Director of the Monaco-based company that is acting as owner’s representative, construction supervisor and manager, both during the build and after delivery.

Construction continues at CCN on another custom project: the 40m K-Series explorer in collaboration with Floating Life. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Light Ice Class yacht designed by Studio Sculli is due to launch at the end of the year.

CCN Launches First Custom Mega-Yacht

Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN) has launched the 164-foot Elsea , a custom aluminum motor-yacht that is part of the yard’s Fuoriserie line.

Studio Bacigalupo is the designer. Interiors are by Studio Vafiadis, and Imperial Yachts is managing the build as the owner’s representative.

“ Elsea was an important challenge for us, as it opens to the shipyard new course,” CCN’s CEO, Diego Deprati, stated in a press release. “It is the first one-of-a-kind motoryacht which marks CCN’s debut in the world of Fuoriserie, world-class bespoke projects — unique masterpieces that respond to the customers’ requirement for full customization.”

Elsea is expected to hit 27 knots thanks to triple MTU 16V2000 M94 engines. She has five guest staterooms in addition to the owner’s suite, formal dining for 12 guests and an upper-deck cinema.

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by 3 x diesel MTU (16V 2000 M94) 16-cylinder 2,600hp engines running at 1939rpm, she comfortably cruises at 18 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 28 knots with a range of up to 1,000 nautical miles from her 45,000 litre fuel tanks at 18 knots. Her low draft of 1.7m/5'7" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 4,500 Litres of fresh water. Imperial acted as Owner’s Representative, Construction Supervisor and Manager during the build and after the delivery.

This new yacht, characterised by an aggressive, sleek profile, can ensure outstanding performance, with a maximum speed of up to 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots. The layout reserves large areas for conviviality, both on the main deck – where the living and dining areas as well as the full-beam master cabin can be found – and on the upper deck, which is entirely devoted to life in the open air.

The interiors explicitly draw inspiration from the ‘deco’ style, reinterpreted in a modern key. This fascinating parallelism is obtained through the use of mirroring surfaces and fine woods which, together with stylish steel details, highlight the bold shapes of the interiors and create a fascinating contrast between the different materials. Onyx, Lalique details, and precious fabrics add luxury to all areas and perfectly integrate with the furniture and furnishings, which have been made even lighter thanks to cutting-edge technological solutions to allow the boat to achieve outstanding speeds – a key feature for yachts in this class.
