About SEVEN SINS

It is no surprise that SEVEN SINS won a raft of awards and recognition from the superyacht fraternity when she launched in 2017. This yacht is the last word in design and function, from the glass-bottom pool to the drive-in tender dock. Acclaimed as ‘remarkable’ you really need to stay aboard to discover all that she has to offer.

The five guest cabins include the master suite, secluded and private in the forward part of the main deck. In the morning you will wake in your linen sheets to hazy light coming through the sheer blinds. The other four cabins are all designed with the same sleek white-wall and muted-tan woodwork, creating a calm, zen-like ambiance.

Take a walk around the decks before breakfast or go for a swim from the beach club astern. Breakfast is served al fresco on the upper aft deck, where a large table sits all 10 of your party. The Italian-chic vibe continues here with modern furniture on the pale teak deck. Cool breezes lift off the sea as you take time with your friends and family to chat about the day ahead.

The children love to swim in the glass-bottom pool on the main deck, and dive down to wave at people in the beach club. From below the sun through the water throws a lightshow around the club. Pontoons drop down on either side with swim ladders reaching down into the water, and space for loungers to look out over the aqua sea.

This beach club adapts to allow the tender garage to flood and the chase boat to drive in. With clever engineering, the floor lifts out of the way to store the boat, and then back into position for your use. There is a raft of watertoys to try too: from an inflatable trampoline to jetskis and SeaBobs.

After an energetic morning you will be ready for lunch on the sun deck. Up here is another dining area, plus a bar and sofas for everyone to relax. Take your time to savour the seafood platters and fresh local produce, you are on the holiday of a lifetime…

Planning a low-key afternoon, you ask the captain to give you a tour of the coast to find the perfect anchorage for swimming and snorkelling. From the bridge you see this 52.1m (171ft) yacht navigate with steady ease - thanks to her high-tech stablisers.

By evening you are all sun-kissed and on a holiday-high. The mixologist is creating cocktails in the main lounge bar and you are all in the mood to party. Kick off your shoes and put on your favourite tunes, you are living the charter life.

SEVEN SINS Yacht for Charter

The 170.7-foot (52m) SEVEN SINS launched in 2017. Part of Italian yard Sanlorenzo’s 52Steel family of yachts, she is a sleek, powerful and innovative superyacht, made for luxurious ocean cruising. A steel-hulled displacement yacht, she has a beam of 30.6-feet (9.3m) and a draft of 8.8-feet (2.65m). She cruises at 15 knots and can increase to a maximum of 17 knots when at full throttle. Accommodating 10 guests in five cabins, she has a warm and welcoming crew of 11 who guarantee every charter experience is exceptional.

AN IMPRESSIVE CHARTER LIFESTYLE

In the winter months, SEVEN SINS heads to the Caribbean where she is a popular sight around the Leeward and Winward Islands and the British Virgin Islands. In the summer she visits an appealing choice of Mediterranean destinations. These include the Balearics, the French Riviera and Monaco, the Italian coastlines, Sardinia, Sicily, Venice, Croatia and Corsica.

Perfect for family charters, groups of friends or business colleagues, she is also available by special request for event charters. A great emphasis is placed on watersports action, with a huge list of equipment, and high-tech toys available. These include inflatable canoes, a trampoline and donuts, water skis, snorkeling equipment, Sea-Doos, SeaBobs and wakeboards. On board, she offers a deck pool and a range of gym equipment.

STYLISH ACCOMMODATION

SEVEN SINS has a master stateroom, two VIP staterooms, one to port, one to starboard, and two twin cabins: one on either side of the yacht. There is also the potential for a further convertible twin. The décor inside, the inspired work of Balo, is a study in tasteful elegance. Soft, natural creams sit alongside dark furnishings to striking effect. Designer lighting is complemented by plenty of natural daylight and there is a wonderful feeling of space, warmth and luxury aboard. In the evenings, underlit seating out on deck creates an almost magical ambiance – the perfect place for after-dinner drinks gazing out at the lights of nearby coastlines. SEVEN SINS on board “beach club” is another highly popular feature of this exceptional yacht.

Breathing Life Into Lifestyle

yacht 7 sins

Crystal Palace

Used to stunning effect both structurally and decoratively, Seven Sins’ onboard glass brings sunlight and style to every corner and curve. Large floor-to-ceiling windows in the main salon illuminate the interior. Glass balustrades deliver clear sight lines on the sun deck, while a glass-encased, glass-bottomed 4.5m heated pool with counterflow current and Jacuzzi mode on the main deck aft throws dappled sunlight onto the beach club below.

Terraced and Tasteful

Paired with a fully-equipped gym and dedicated spa with sauna, Seven Sins’ substantial beach club brings waterside living to onboard life. Ocean-level fold-down balconies open the area up to views and sea breeze with wraparound access to the water and star quality to the aft area. Combined with the stern swim platform, stepped access to the sea from both side terraces creates an aquatic stage of dreams.

yacht 7 sins

Open Air Living

The exterior areas produce a bounty of options for guests to enjoy an indoor outdoor lifestyle. A cocktail bar, sun loungers and sofas decorate the sun deck. The upper deck provides further relaxation forward and aft with casual al fresco dining available spread across all three exterior areas. Few boats offer exterior deck arrangements in the same league as Seven Sins.

Discreet service delivered by the yacht’s 11 crew elevates guests’ onboard experience. A tank deck technical tunnel, accessible from the crew mess, means maintenance and troubleshooting takes place out of sight. Likewise, the lower deck mess connects to the galley and multiple pantries, with a dumb waiter linking two service areas for a cohesive flow of movement.

FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW

Inspected by us..

Be swept away by soft sea breezes while standing on the sundeck of SEVEN SINS, a one-of-a-kind superyacht charter. Experience unique amenities that combine technology with nature.

When talking about SEVEN SINS yacht charter, the focus of the discussion should always be on the beach club. The technical achievement present here always shocks onlookers and guests. The transom hydraulic lift reveals a floodable tender garage, allowing the tender to simply float out of the garage and into the water.

When the tender is deployed, the space transforms into a 100m2 beach club. Along both sides, bulkheads fold down to become open terraces, as does the swimming platform. This creates an incredible space that beckons charter guests to develop a unique bond with the Adriatic Sea.

This marvellous yacht can easily cruise in the evening, so she can surprise her guests with a different panorama every morning. This is possible because there are no loud sounds from the engines nor are there any vibrations when cruising, because of excellent soundproofing, insulation and a hull made of steel.

The aesthetic capacity of SEVEN SINS is truly astounding, capable of serving several different purposes at once. She can behave like a sports yacht, a leisure vessel and or a home away from home – it all depends on the needs of the client. Also, floor to ceiling windows in both the main deck salon and the sky lounge are not the only things that set SEVEN SINS  apart from the rest of the yachts on the charter market.

A tremendous sense of space in the main salon is accomplished by using low cabinetry and furniture, to discreetly divide the open layout of the salon into separate areas, without using dividers, but still retaining a sense of privacy. The foyer staircase is made up out of Carrara marble, a precious and durable stone that is both pleasant to the touch and to the eye.

The Sanlorenzo shipyard is renowned for creating sea-faring masterpieces, vessels so perfect they serve as actual floating hymns to naval architecture and design. This is particularly true about the Sanlorenzo 52 steel model – in this case SEVEN SINS yacht charter, a prime example of how far a superyacht notion can reach, before being transformed into something else entirely: a one-of-a-kind concept that is both aesthetically pleasing and exceptionally performative.

Built on the basis of the successful Sanlorenzo Steel 46, the Steel 52 is a significant upgrade of what Sanlorenzo did with the 46. The 52 model brings together stylish glamour and advanced technologies to create a truly wondrous blend of innovative yachting style and modern gadgets.

SEVEN SINS yacht charter, a steel 52 model, is one of Sanlorenzo`s largest models built to date, full of sophisticated technologies and unique features. These are not just empty words: SEVENS SINS is one of the greatest yachts ever built in her category – she even received a 2018 Yacht award for most innovative design.

She brings together the interior of the vessel and the nature surrounding its exterior in a way that has never been seen before on yachts of this size. This is done by using smart design and hydraulic hull surfaces in the beach club.

SEVENS SINS yacht charter can also field a small army of water toys, starting with a pair of jet skis and a pair of Sea bobs. Following are two inflatable canoes, two stand up paddleboards, two Jobe Wakeboards and three pairs of water skis. A foil board is always popular with adrenaline lovers, while the inflatable slide and a trampoline will be favourites among kids.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

When you first wake up and feel the premium linens of the king-size berth of SEVEN SINS yacht charter, you will know you have arrived in paradise. You will sleep sound and comfortable, with no rolling at all, thanks to the at-anchor stabilisers. Yawning, stretching and doing your morning rituals, lazily walk out of the master suite, still half asleep, looking for some breakfast and coffee.

Be pleasantly surprised as you notice that your hard-working stewardesses already set the table for breakfast and the chef has all but plated your delicious morning dishes. Be handed a cup of premium coffee, as you sit down at the main deck aft dining table and let your charter party slowly gather for breakfast.

A typical breakfast usually consists of classic breakfast-buffet options, like cereals, granola, toast, eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit and deli meat, but be sure that you can order anything you want from the chef and he will have it ready in a blink of an eye.

After the most important meal of the day, why not try your hand at some water toys aboard SEVEN SINS? Create a private playground near your anchorage and enjoy a piece of paradise in Croatia. From modern toys like the foil board and the Sea bob, to standard ones like jet skis and waterskis, SEVEN SINS has them all, guaranteeing plenty of fun and countless hours spent in the sea, laughing and making memories.

Depending on your inclinations and how much energy you spend having fun with water toys, consider relaxing and taking a few moments to collect yourself in SEVEN SINS’ amazing beach club. This absolutely magnificent space ensures all guests develop a close and personal relation to the sea, during every second of their stay on this marvellous yacht. Relax in comfortable beach furniture as you sip on your favourite cocktail, lovingly prepared by your expert crew.

Try not to fall into a comfortable nap just yet, not before you taste what your loving and dedicated chef has prepared for your lunch today. Start with acorn squash and beet salad and hand-made semolina and rosemary boule bread, followed by a lightly grilled sea bass with a lemon and garlic infusion, served with a side of spinach puree and cooked potatoes. Continue eating short ribs with black barley and mushrooms and finish with raspberry sorbet and raspberry jelly for dessert.

After lunch, consider taking a quick nap, before continuing your superyacht charter adventure in Croatia . Energised and prepared for anything Croatia has to throw at you, let your expert crew book a special, one-of-a-kind tour of a Croatian island of your choice .

Co-operating with luxury services on land, your crew will be able to book several supercars (like Porsches or Ferraris) for your enjoyment and leisure, which will enable you to explore the interior of any Croatian island in total lavishness.

Enjoy a totally unique feature of your superyacht charter holiday. Drive around in complete luxury and style, looking for good photo opportunities and enjoying the scenery as you glide over the island roads in your luxurious mechanical beast. You will be the star of the island for the day, with every onlooker’s eye pointed at your luxury car caravan, not knowing the details of your movement, but envious nevertheless.

Get back to SEVEN SINS yacht charter, knowing you have an incredible themed dinner party organised and waiting for you aboard. Before all that, rest and relax after an eventful afternoon in the sauna or hammam, located in the beach club of SEVEN SINS.

The steam will surely wash away any uncleanness you might have picked on your luxury sports car expedition. You might want to combine the steam treatment with some cardio or aerobics, followed by strength and agility exercises in the gym area.

A fully functional gym is a rare thing to see on any yacht, particularly one so well organised and equipped. Finishing off your routine, consider going back to your cabin and getting ready for a fantastic dinner party, themed in the manner of a white party.

You can ask your crew to organise any kind of theme that ranges from the pirate treasure trove, poker nights, great Gatsby parties, Christmas parties in the middle of July, pink parties, or any other theme that would spark your imagination. Accompanying a themed party, organised entertainment from shore will surely enrich an already incredible experience.

Be entertained while enjoying a wonderful dinner, consisting of marinated mozzarella with basil, followed by orange and balsamic-glazed tricolour carrot soup and tuna stakes and broccolini with peas & seared lemons. Dessert is unavoidable in any luxury dining setting, so be prepared to enjoy roasted peaches with lemon thyme, vanilla ice cream and toasted almonds.

After dinner, centre your entertainment for the evening around the main deck aft pool; let your hard-working crew create a totally unique atmosphere by the pool, with all the paraphernalia necessary for an unforgettable experience. Use candles,  soft music, champagne and flowers for a romantic and intimate vibe or LED lights, a private DJ and local Croatian spirits for a fun yacht party.

YACHT CHARTER DINING

Only the finest culinary talents will make sure you and your guests enjoy exquisite and delicious meals aboard SEVEN SINS yacht charter. The designated chef aboard your superyacht charter will be Levi Pekelder. Being of Dutch nationality, he grew up in transit between the Netherlands and Asia.

Ever since he was a child, he was fascinated with preparing and tasting food. As he introduced himself to cultures that were not his own, he learned much about different food preparations, tastes and cuisines.

His passion for food led him to start working in a 2-star Michelin restaurant from the age of 18. Since that moment, his career skyrocketed, leading him to prepare meals aboard luxury superyachts, including SEVEN SINS yacht charter. When his colleagues talk about him, they say that he is an enthusiastic individual who strives towards perfection and will do anything to satisfy his clients.

One such example includes a lunch menu that could be similar to a cherry and arugula salad, followed by pheasant with pine nuts, fresh figs and spinach sauce. After that, a Kobe beef steak with asparagus and poached quail egg yolk reduction, finishing finally with a candied pineapple over a blood orange granita.

Every aspect of luxury dining on SEVEN SINS will be curated; an impressive list of impeccable details brings together a setting that only serves to accentuate the excellent ingredients, culinary techniques and personalised service. Dining on SEVEN SINS yacht charter will be a multi-sensory show of colours, tastes, smells, textures and above all, 5-star service.

Luxury is a mindset and fine dining is a way of bringing that mindset into everyday life. With food as a medium, the crew of SEVEN SINS yacht charter will try to bring to life that luxury mindset, offering 5-star service and rigorous attention to detail. Your crew will always provide exceptional dining experiences, be it setting up a perfect beach picnic, an outdoor BBQ, or an alfresco adventure on the main deck aft of your superyacht charter.

The dedication of your chef and crew will be shown through specially designed menus, that centre around your preferences and inclinations towards food. Whatever you designate as preferred, your crew will specially order and prepare days in advance, including premium alcoholic beverages or beluga caviar.

This also includes preparing dishes like a black olive pate with beluga caviar on rich dough toast, cold water oysters with a kimchi consommé, pan-roasted peppered chicken served with sweet potatoes, sesame and black pepper and coconut and lime panna cotta for dessert.

YACHT MAIN DECK

Guests can enter the main deck either from the portside staircase in the beach club or the starboard side stairs in the gym. Coming in through the beach club, guests find themselves on the main deck of SEVEN SINS yacht charter; the first impressions about this space are innovative design, smart engineering and intricate construction.

The eye candy of the main deck is definitely the stern pool. Usually, superyachts carry a jacuzzi on the upper deck, but not SEVEN SINS; she opted for a decently-sized pool that supports diving and swimming, not just sitting. Surrounded by large and comfortable sun pads that span the entire radius of the pool, guests will enjoy simply rolling off into the pool when they are done sunbathing, or getting back up to let the sun dry them.

Continuing forward is an alfresco lounge area with a coffee table. Compare SEVEN SINS yacht charter to any other yacht, and you will find that most yachts tend to accentuate the main deck aft as the main point for alfresco dining. But this is not the case with SEVEN SINS yacht charter; she handles things differently.

Continuing from the alfresco lounge, guests arrive at the interior bar near the entrance, where there are always refreshing drinks at arm’s length and a member of the crew, happy to assist. More forward and guests arrive at the absolutely grandiose main deck salon, with furniture signed by renowned Italian designers,  hand-made furnishings and the most expensive and rare raw materials used in creating this simply magnificent space.

The salon area also features two big coffee tables and double sofas, spacious and comfortable, with accompanying armchairs. All guests love to lounge around the main salon before dinner, enjoying the comfort of the furniture. Lastly, a lengthy quadruple sofa sitting arrangement in the lounge area is equipped with a 75″ TV, which is perfect for movie nights, game nights or just relaxing in front of a screen.

Streaming towards the bow, guests find themselves on the main deck lobby, which they can follow either down to the lower deck or up, onto the upper deck and the main alfresco dining option. The main deck lobby also comes with a day head, practically placed for the guest`s convenience.

Forward some more and we arrive at the owner’s office, a place where one can conduct business without being disturbed by the everyday ongoings of the vessel. This area also acts as a sort-of lobby for the Master suite.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The master stateroom

The master is absolutely stunning, with incredible amounts of natural light coming in through huge windows, both to port and starboard. Being full beam, the master does not lack a single amenity you would normally expect in a 5-star hotel room, even going further than that. The king-size berth and the premium silk linens offer quality slumber, while excellent soundproofing ensures that you only hear the sound of silence when sleeping on your superyacht charter.

Providing guests with ample room for storage and trying out the evening`s attire, the walk-in closet is an unavoidable feature in a master suite on a yacht with a pedigree like SEVEN SINS. The ensuite is also full beam, incorporating a very big bathtub and a separate shower cabin; the totality of the ensuite is built from the same marble that Michelangelo used when he sculpted David.

YACHT UPPER DECK

To reach the upper deck of SEVEN SINS yacht charter, guests must use the main deck lobby and climb the stairs to reach the upper deck lobby. Here, another day head provides guests with a practical place to wash their hands before experiencing the best cuisine a superyacht charter can offer. A pantry to port provides excellent communication with the dining areas, enabling the crew to seamlessly present lunch or dinner courses faster and with efficiency.

An extra guest cabin on the upper deck

An interesting addition to the upper deck, an extra guest cabin is located in the wheelhouse, right across the captain’s cabin. This living quarter can be used as an auxiliary area for accommodating extra guests, or for taking in an extra member of the crew, like a nanny, a massage therapist or a personalised gym trainer. Both the auxiliary cabin and the captain`s quarters have their own en suites.

Moving back towards the stern, guests enter the flybridge salon, an extremely spacious interior area with a dining feature to port and a lounge/salon area to starboard. The dining table can take in 12 guests in utter comfort, while the lounge parallel to the table serves as an area where guests can relax after a meal. The central point of the room is reserved for a 55″ pop-up TV, enabling guests from either side of the room to watch and enjoy their favourite movies or shows.

Transitioning into the upper deck aft alfresco dining area, one immediately notices the spaciousness of this location. A wonderful table for 12 provides the most luxurious option of alfresco dining, with the second option being the sun deck above. With a wet bar and storage to starboard and a fridge, ice maker and more storage to port, there will be nothing that could interrupt the magnificence of your luxury dining experience aboard SEVEN SINS yacht charter.

All the way back are twin stern loungers, providing lounging options for an after-meal espresso martini. The upper deck of SEVEN SINS yacht charter is walk-around, meaning there are twin passageways to the bow of the boat. The same cannot be said for the main deck, which only has half side-decks to either port or starboard.

Getting back to the front upper sundeck which is located between the upper deck bow and the wheelhouse. A more-than-generous C-shaped lounge/sun pad combo surrounds a pair of coffee tables. Opposite to that is a U-shaped lounge with a coffee table, wide enough to be considered a mini-alfresco option on the upper front sun deck.

YACHT FLYBRIDGE

A very practical feature of the flybridge is the dumb waiter, which connects the main deck with the upper deck pantry and the flybridge bar, creating a practical surrounding for an unforgettable dining experience. Starting from the stern, the flybridge consists of 5 wonderful sun loungers, providing the best option for a fast bronze tan.

Moving forward, a pair of L-shaped sofas centrefold around a coffee table, where you can enjoy a never-ending flow of tasty snacks and refreshing drinks which your loving crew will provide 24/7. The centre point of the flybridge offers a wonderful alfresco dining option to starboard, with a table for 12, opposite a fully equipped wet bar to port. This will be a perfect place to enjoy an alfresco dinner under the stars on a warm summer evening.

With 8 barstools surrounding the bar, the whole flybridge sends out a vibe of a nightclub, bursting with possible options for an unforgettable party time. Ask your crew to set up a disco ball and some colourful lighting, so you truly enjoy an atmosphere of a discotheque.

All the way to the tip of the flybridge is the exterior helm station, surrounded by twin L-shaped lounges both to port and starboard. This position is ideal if you want to follow the cruising course of SEVEN SINS, as you lazily turn backwards and forwards in the warm summer sun.

YACHT LOWER DECK

The lower deck of SEVEN SINS yacht charter houses the majority of the guest accommodations onboard your wonderful superyacht. The lower deck lobby features a separate entrance to four well-appointed accommodations: 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins, with 1 twin able to convert into a double, and the other twin having a pullman berth.

All of the lower deck cabins are excellently appointed, featuring all the amenities guests would expect on a luxury superyacht of this size and reputation. SEVEN SINS yacht charter also features a second lower deck, which houses additional fridges and laundry necessities.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The double VIP staterooms

Neutral brown and beige brown colours combined with white silk linens honour the concept of a traditional wooden vessel with white linen sails. This atmosphere is further accentuated by adding a dash of blue into the colour scheme, making guests feel relaxed and safe.

Integrated ceiling lights and huge hull windows provide ample artificial and natural light, while a smartly placed mirror parallel to the window reflects the daylight coming in. The VIP stateroom also comes with a vanity table, where guests can also do some unexpected work if the need arises. The ensuite is excellently appointed, following a similar decor as the VIP cabin. It is equipped with separate sinks, a shower and a bathtub.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The twin cabins

Featuring a contemporary design and stylish details, the atmosphere in the twin cabins is soothing and inviting, thanks to bright colours and amples of natural light. One twin is convertible into a double, while the other has a pullman berth, to provide versatility when designating sleeping arrangements.

Excellent soundproofing guarantees hearing only the sound of silence before going to sleep, creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere. The ensuite is compact and well-appointed, featuring everything needed for a comfortable holiday in Croatia aboard SEVEN SINS yacht charter.

YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

Arriving on SEVEN SINS by tender puts you in front of her stern, a truly magnificent sight to behold. The fixed swimming platform is both wide and lengthy, providing a stable surface for jumping right in the crisp Adriatic. This usually ends the descriptions of stern functionality on other yachts, but when it comes to SEVEN SINS, we are just getting started.

Both to port and to starboard are hallways that lead to the lower deck beach club, which rests atop a hydraulic platform that also doubles as a submersible tender garage. When the tender is launched, and when the platform is lowered, it makes for an absolutely magnificent interior beach club, truly different from anything else seen on the sea. This feature alone makes SEVEN SINS yacht charter totally unique and able to stand out above the crowd, but it does not end there.

The interior beach club is a truly wonderful, magnificently and stunning space, with a width that could easily host a badminton tournament. Furnished with double sofas, 4 comfortable armchairs and a big coffee table, this area would be magnificent on its own, were it not for the ceiling, which is actually the glass bottom of the main deck pool.

The ceiling acts as a kaleidoscope lens, dispersing natural light coming in through the pool into the beach club, creating a truly magnificent effect of liquid light that overflows the whole space, constantly moving, like a water flame.

There is a bar to port, with dual bar stools, which will serve the needs of guests relaxing in this magnificent area. As if that was not enough, SEVEN SINS is also equipped with port and starboard hydraulic balconies that extend the reach of the beach club directly above the water.

Guests can sunbathe on the port and starboard platforms, experiencing an intimate and intense connection with the sea and nature. Continuing forward from the fantastic beach club, a fully equipped gymnasium boasts a massage table, quality gym equipment, a hammam and a sauna with a day head. Every active charter guest will absolutely love all the features of SEVEN SINS` wellness amenities, which also consist of a fridge, an ice maker and a high-tech AV system.

YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS

The list of water toys aboard SEVEN SINS leaves even the most avid water sports enthusiast speechless. The sheer amount of toys will enable you to have fun on the water for days, without using the same toy twice. There are two Sea doo jet skis and two Sea bobs, two inflatable canoes and two stand up paddleboards. If that is not enough, why not try two Jobe wakeboards or three pairs of water skis?

It is only natural that if you do not fancy the monoski or the foil board, you will surely fall in love with an inflatable slide, a jellyfish pool, two bananas, two donuts, a trampoline and a sofa towable. Finishing the list are 12 sets of snorkelling gears and a whole bunch of assorted beach games – if all of that does not capture your imagination, there are also 3 different tenders: a 4-meter Zodiac rescue tender, an 8-meter Castoldi jet tender and an optional 12-meter Axopar chase boat.

If all of these do not spark your imagination, then you certainly must be voracious when it comes to adrenaline. No worries, SEVEN SINS has got you covered, because you can always ask your expert crew to organise extra adrenaline features, like bungee jumping off Croatia`s tallest bridges or paragliding above the Adriatic Sea.

But first, you should consider trying the foil board, an exciting innovation similar to surfing, which offers a completely different approach to moving on water. The standard surfboard is equipped with a hydrofoil which replaces the fins on a traditional surfboard, making it similar to wings on an aeroplane.

This allows the surfboard to surf above the surface of the water and offer a unique experience for the brave and the daring. Have fun splashing around the Adriatic and learning a new skill on charter vacation in Croatia, aboard SEVEN SINS yacht charter.

The largest yachts owned by tech billionaires, from Mark Zuckerberg to Jeff Bezos

  • Megayachts have become a status symbol for the richest of the rich.
  • In recent years, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg have splurged on enormous boats.
  • These are the biggest yachts owned by tech billionaires.

Insider Today

The average Joe celebrating a personal renaissance after, say, the end of a long-term relationship or when approaching a fresh decade might commemorate it with an ankle tattoo or a sports car. But if you're a billionaire, you may instead spend hundreds of millions on a yacht .

A few years after he and his wife divorced, Jeff Bezos shelled out on a megayacht. Last year, Bezos debuted the 127-meter vessel "Koru," a Māori symbol that signifies a fresh start — perhaps referring to that with his fiancée Lauren Sanchez.

Earlier this year, just before his 40th birthday, Mark Zuckerberg became the rumored owner of a yacht originally built for a Russian oligarch.

Superyachts have increasingly become ultrawealthy status symbols , providing highly secluded leisure and networking sites. They are — even more so than real estate — the single most expensive asset you can own.

"It's a bit of a celebration of your success in life, of wealth," Giovanna Vitelli, the chair of the Azimut Benetti Group, the world's biggest producer of superyachts, told Business Insider.

While many tech billionaires have bought yachts, the richest of the rich, like Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison, have gone bigger. Their boats are virtual palaces at sea, decked with amenities like gyms, spas, pools, nightclubs, and movie theaters.

A look at these megayachts — broadly defined as over 70 meters long, mostly custom-built, and often costing nine figures — offers a glimpse into how the .00001% lives. It's something few others will ever get to experience. Even chartering a yacht of this size for a week typically costs upwards of $1 million.

One major thing that hundreds of millions of dollars can buy is privacy. There are likely yachts that have not been publicly recorded or registered — for example, Evan Spiegel is rumored to own the 94-meter megayacht Bliss. In an industry ruled by discretion , deciphering who owns what is typically an exercise in stringing together many clues.

Here are the largest yachts owned by tech billionaires, listed in order of length.

Jeff Bezos: Koru and Abeona

yacht 7 sins

Amazon founder Bezos' $500 million megayacht, the 127-meter Koru, made a splash last year as she crisscrossed the Mediterranean in her first summer at sea, with her 75-meter support vessel Abeona in tow.

The sailing yacht, which is hard to miss thanks to her massive size and unique design, was host to Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez's famous friends . The couple held an engagement party on board, which reportedly drew guests including Bill Gates, Ari Emanuel, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Just a week later, they were seen on the streets of Dubrovnik, Croatia, with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, and Usher.

Even before her completion, Koru made headlines. She drew the ire of some Dutch people, who vowed to hurl eggs after she was announced a historic bridge in Rotterdam might be taken apart to allow the Oceanco boat through. Luckily, the shipyard made alternative plans, and an egg crisis was averted.

Among yacht world insiders , Koru is widely praised for her craftsmanship.

"I heard back in 2018 or something that somebody had ordered a classic sailing yacht," one superyacht expert told BI. "You order 125 meters, that's not really going to be classic. But it is. I think it's pretty cool."

Mark Zuckerberg: Launchpad

yacht 7 sins

Earlier this year, the yacht world was rife with rumors that Zuckerberg purchased Launchpad, a 118-meter superyacht originally designed for a sanctioned Russian businessman.

The ship made her maiden voyage in March, going from Gibraltar to St. Maarten and mooring in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Little is known about her interior, but photos show a large swimming pool and helipad. Her price, too, has been kept under wraps but is said to be nine figures.

Eric Schmidt: Whisper

yacht 7 sins

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt made waves last year when he agreed to buy the Alfa Nero , the yacht of a sanctioned Russian oligarch, for $67 million in an auction conducted by Antigua and Barbuda. But he backed out of the deal following legal issues over her true owner. He quietly purchased Kismet instead. The 95-meter-long Lürssen-built boat was formerly owned by the Jacksonville Jaguar's billionaire owner Shahid Khan . Schmidt renamed her Whisper.

The ship can fit 12 guests and a crew of 28, according to Moran Yacht & Ship, which oversaw her construction. She features a master deck with a private jacuzzi, full-service spa, lap pool, movie theater, and outdoor fireplace.

While her final sale price was not public, she was listed for 149 million euros (about $161 million at current exchange rates), and at a charity auction in January, one week aboard the ship went for $2.4 million, according to industry outlet Yacht Charter Fleet.

Barry Diller: Eos

yacht 7 sins

Barry Diller , the chairman of digital media company IAC, co-owns the megayacht Eos with his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg , who is immortalized by a figurehead sculpture by Anh Duong.

One of the largest private sailing yachts in the world, the three-masted Lürssen schooner measures 93 meters long. She took three years to be built before being delivered to Diller in 2009, and since then, little has come to light about her interior and features.

The power couple has hosted many celebrities on the Eos, which spends her summers crisscrossing the Mediterranean and New Year ' s Eve in St. Barts . Over the years, guests have included Oprah Winfrey, Emma Thompson, Anderson Cooper, and Bezos, leading some to believe she provided inspiration for his Koru.

Jim Clark: Athena

yacht 7 sins

Netscape founder Jim Clark purchased the 90-meter sailing yacht Athena in 2004.

"I could easily have built a 50- or 60-meter motor yacht that would have had the same space as Athena, but I was never really interested in building a motor yacht," he told Boat International in 2016. "To my eye, she's one of the most gorgeous large sailing yachts, maybe the most gorgeous large sailing yacht in the world."

Athena has room for 10 guests and 21 crewmembers, and the only change Clark says he'd make in her design is adding more space for his kids.

"If I was forced to change something, I would convert the office on the lower deck into a children's room," he said.

The former Stanford professor tried to sell her at various points — listing her for $95 million in 2012 , $69 million in 2016, and $59 million in 2017 — but she has yet to change hands.

Larry Ellison: Musashi

yacht 7 sins

Oracle founder Larry Ellison has owned several superyachts over the years, including the Katana, the Ronin, and the Rising Sun — which he sold to fellow billionaire David Geffen .

He purchased his current boat, Musashi, in 2011 for a reported $160 million from custom-yacht giant Feadship.

Named after a famous samurai warrior, the 88-meter-long yacht has both Japanese and Art Deco-inspired design elements. She also boasts amenities including an elevator, swimming pool, beauty salon, gym, and basketball court.

Ellison is known for his extravagant spending — private islands, jets, a tennis tournament — and yachting is among his favorite and most expensive hobbies. He took up racing them in the 1990s and financed the America's Cup-winning BMW Oracle Racing team .

Laurene Powell Jobs: Venus

yacht 7 sins

Steve Jobs' wife, investor and philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, inherited a nearly finished 78-meter yacht named Venus when the Apple cofounder died in 2011.

After spending years vacationing on Ellison's yachts, Jobs wanted one for himself. He designed Venus with French starchitect and decorator Philippe Starck , and she was worth $130 million at completion.

"Venus comes from the philosophy of minimum," Starck said of her design. "The elegance of the minimum, approaching dematerialization."

Jobs and Starck began working together in 2007, the designer told Vanity Fair , and held monthly meetings over four years. Venus was delivered in 2012 to Jobs' specification: six identical cabins, a design to ensure spaces of absolute silence, and the most up-to-date technology.

"There will never again be a boat of that quality again. Because never again will two madmen come together to accomplish such a task," Starck told the magazine. "It was not a yacht that Steve and I were constructing, we were embarked on a philosophical action, implemented according to a quasi-religious process. We formed a single brain with four lobes."

Charles Simonyi: Norn

yacht 7 sins

Early Microsoft employee Charles Simonyi has purchased two megayachts from the German shipyard Lürssen: the 90-meter Norn and 71-meter Skat.

Delivered in 2023, Norn is full of luxe features, including an outdoor cinema and a pool floor that lifts to become a light-up dancefloor. She shares a militaristic style with Skat , which Simonyi sold in 2021.

Skats's name is derived from the Danish word for treasure, and she had a listing price of 56.5 million euros and was launched in 2002.

"The yacht is to be home away from my home in Seattle, and its style should match the style of the house, adapted for the practicalities of the sea," Simonyi once said .

Sergey Brin: Dragonfly

yacht 7 sins

Google cofounder Sergey Brin has built a flotilla of yachts, boats, and toys known as the "Fly Fleet."

Named after a once-secret Google product , the largest of Brin's armada is the sleek Dragonfly , which boasts a movie theater and a helipad. The 73-meter-long vessel was built by the Australian shipyard Silver Yachts and can fit up to 18 guests and 16 crew members, according to SuperYacht Times.

Also in his fleet is the superyacht Butterfly, a mere 38 meters long. Often moored in the Bay Area, her crewmembers spend their downtime kitesurfing and giving swimming lessons to local kids.

The rest of his marine lineup includes a smaller boat called Firefly, as well as Jet Skis, foilboards, dinghies, and kiteboards. She takes a team of 50 full-time employees to manage, steer, and maintain the entire operation.

Sindhu Sundar contributed to an earlier version of this story.

Correction: May 6, 2024 — An earlier version of this story misstated Giovanna Vitelli's title. She is the chair of the Azimut Benetti Group, not a vice president.

Pod of killer whales attacks and sinks 50-foot yacht in Strait of Gibraltar

The Strait of Gibraltar connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.

ABCNews logo

A pod of killer whales attacked and sunk a yacht in the Strait of Gibraltar, between Spain and Morocco, officials confirmed to ABC News.

Two people were on board the vessel when the incident occurred Sunday at 9 a.m. local time, according to Spain's maritime authority.

The nearly 50-foot yacht, named The Alboran Cognac, was 15 miles from Cabo Espartel in Morocco when an unknown number of orcas began ramming it.

The couple alerted Spanish authorities and a rescue team arrived to extricate them from the vessel an hour after the attack, though officials were unable to salvage the sinking boat.

There have been approximately 700 orca attacks since 2020, according to GT Orca Atlantica, a conservation group, and officials believe there are more than 37 orcas in the Strait of Gibraltar.

The Strait of Gibraltar connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, separating Europe from Africa.

"During the summer and autumn of 2020, interaction events began to occur between several specimens of this species and vessels, mainly sailboats, both in the Strait of Gibraltar and in the waters of the Galician coast," according to Spanish government officials. "These interactions have ranged from persistent approaches to ships, to ramming the hull and rudder, causing various types of damage, which continue today."

It's unclear why orcas attack boats, though experts hypothesize the marine mammals could be targeting vessels for sport or they feel threatened.

According to a study in Biological Conservation, a peer-reviewed journal, "sophisticated learning abilities" have been found to exist in orcas.

In June 2023, racing yachts in the Strait of Gibraltar had a close encounter with a pod of orcas, race officials said at the time.

Crew members aboard a rival pair of 65-foot yachts were on the final leg of The Ocean Race, a global sailing competition, when they reported being intercepted by killer whales as their boats approached the Strait of Gibraltar.

No fatalities were reported in the incident, according to officials.

From shark bites to yacht fires, South Florida trauma survivors show gratitude for their medical teams

Beyond the daily tragedies of car crashes, gunshot wounds and bike accidents, South Florida trauma units treat the unexpected.

Those traumas have included a Pembroke Pines plane passenger injured in a crash, a West Palm Beach construction worker crushed by an excavator, and a Miami boater set ablaze by a yacht fire.

And then there was the 24-year-old who fell into shark-infested waters and suffered a gaping hole in his leg. Doctors at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach cleaned the wound to prevent infection and stitched the footlong bite.

This week, trauma survivors returned to the South Florida hospitals that took lifesaving measures to keep them alive. They celebrated their recoveries and heaped praise and gratitude on the medical teams that provided their care.

Trauma Survivors’ Day has become an annual celebration that draws back patients who benefited from high-level trauma care available in about a half-dozen South Florida hospitals.

Palm Beach County resident Roy McCarty, 83, returned to Delray Medical Center with the mangled tire of the bicycle he rode when hit by a car. Thrusting the tire in the air, he explained that three things saved his life: the wheel that took the brunt of the hit, the coincidence that he landed on the driveway of a fire department, and the trauma team at Delray Medical Center that provided emergency care. He spent 11 weeks at the hospital with a fractured spine, a punctured lung and all but two ribs fractured.

McCarty told fellow survivors and medical staff at the hospital that it took him a year to fully recover.

“I am extremely grateful to have each day,” he said at the hospital’s survivors’ day event on Wednesday.

He is back riding his bike, but only short distances, and not on the road, he said.

Trauma surgeons, doctors, nurses and caregivers who spoke at celebrations noted that it is rare they see their patients after they are fully recovered — making Trauma Survivors’ Day particularly meaningful.

At Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Dr. Tamar Levene, a pediatric surgeon, and her team treat thousands of patients annually.

“One of unique things about serving the community in South Florida, is we have nice weather year-round so we see bike accidents and drownings 365 days a year,” she said.

The most common traumas are pedstricans striuck by cars, or bike accidents, she said.

However, she has treated less common traumas, too, during her eight years at Joe DiMaggio: a child falling from a balcony, water park injuries, dog bites, and just recently, a boy whose hand required major reconstruction as the result of a drone accident.

Levene said anywhere from 10 to 20 medical staff participate in trauma care for a patient, and often specialists are called in.

“There is a lot involved in assuring someone’s physical and mental well being,” she said.

Elissa Diener and her fiancé Thomas Trout survived an accident, and were recognized by Memorial Regional Hospital and their staff on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Dozens of trauma survivors reunited with hospital staff and their rescue workers to celebrate Trauma Awareness Month.

A Year on Ozempic Taught Me We’re Thinking About Obesity All Wrong

A photo illustration of junk food — potato chips, cheesecake and bacon — spiraling into a black background.

By Johann Hari

Mr. Hari is a British journalist and the author of “Magic Pill: The Extraordinary Benefits — and Disturbing Risks — of the New Weight Loss Drugs.”

Ever since I was a teenager, I have dreamed of shedding a lot of weight. So when I shrank from 203 pounds to 161 in a year, I was baffled by my feelings. I was taking Ozempic, and I was haunted by the sense that I was cheating and doing something immoral.

I’m not the only one. In the United States (where I now split my time), over 70 percent of people are overweight or obese, and according to one poll, 47 percent of respondents said they were willing to pay to take the new weight-loss drugs. It’s not hard to see why. They cause users to lose an average of 10 to 20 percent of their body weight, and clinical trials suggest that the next generation of drugs (probably available soon) leads to a 24 percent loss, on average. Yet as more and more people take drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro, we get more confused as a culture, bombarding anyone in the public eye who takes them with brutal shaming.

This is happening because we are trapped in a set of old stories about what obesity is and the morally acceptable ways to overcome it. But the fact that so many of us are turning to the new weight-loss drugs can be an opportunity to find a way out of that trap of shame and stigma — and to a more truthful story.

In my lifetime, obesity has exploded, from being rare to almost being the norm. I was born in 1979, and by the time I was 21, obesity rates in the United States had more than doubled . They have skyrocketed since. The obvious question is, why? And how do these new weight-loss drugs work? The answer to both lies in one word: satiety. It’s a concept that we don’t use much in everyday life but that we’ve all experienced at some point. It describes the sensation of having had enough and not wanting any more.

The primary reason we have gained weight at a pace unprecedented in human history is that our diets have radically changed in ways that have deeply undermined our ability to feel sated. My father grew up in a village in the Swiss mountains, where he ate fresh, whole foods that had been cooked from scratch and prepared on the day they were eaten. But in the 30 years between his childhood and mine, in the suburbs of London, the nature of food transformed across the Western world. He was horrified to see that almost everything I ate was reheated and heavily processed. The evidence is clear that the kind of food my father grew up eating quickly makes you feel full. But the kind of food I grew up eating, much of which is made in factories, often with artificial chemicals, left me feeling empty and as if I had a hole in my stomach. In a recent study of what American children eat, ultraprocessed food was found to make up 67 percent of their daily diet. This kind of food makes you want to eat more and more. Satiety comes late, if at all.

One scientific experiment — which I have nicknamed Cheesecake Park — seemed to me to crystallize this effect. Paul Kenny, a neuroscientist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, grew up in Ireland. After he moved in 2000 to the United States, when he was in his 20s, he gained 30 pounds in two years. He began to wonder if the American diet has some kind of strange effect on our brains and our cravings, so he designed an experiment to test it. He and his colleague Paul Johnson raised a group of rats in a cage and gave them an abundant supply of healthy, balanced rat chow made out of the kind of food rats had been eating for a very long time. The rats would eat it when they were hungry, and then they seemed to feel sated and stopped. They did not become fat.

But then Dr. Kenny and his colleague exposed the rats to an American diet: fried bacon, Snickers bars, cheesecake and other treats. They went crazy for it. The rats would hurl themselves into the cheesecake, gorge themselves and emerge with their faces and whiskers totally slicked with it. They quickly lost almost all interest in the healthy food, and the restraint they used to show around healthy food disappeared. Within six weeks, their obesity rates soared.

After this change, Dr. Kenny and his colleague tweaked the experiment again (in a way that seems cruel to me, a former KFC addict). They took all the processed food away and gave the rats their old healthy diet. Dr. Kenny was confident that they would eat more of it, proving that processed food had expanded their appetites. But something stranger happened. It was as though the rats no longer recognized healthy food as food at all, and they barely ate it. Only when they were starving did they reluctantly start to consume it again.

Though Dr. Kenny’s study was in rats, we can see forms of this behavior everywhere. We are all living in Cheesecake Park — and the satiety-stealing effect of industrially assembled food is evidently what has created the need for these medications. Drugs like Ozempic work precisely by making us feel full. Carel le Roux, a scientist whose research was important to the development of these drugs, says they boost what he and others once called “satiety hormones.”

Once you understand this context, it becomes clear that processed and ultraprocessed food create a raging hole of hunger, and these treatments can repair that hole. Michael Lowe, a professor of psychology at Drexel University who has studied hunger for 40 years, told me the drugs are “an artificial solution to an artificial problem.”

Yet we have reacted to this crisis largely caused by the food industry as if it were caused only by individual moral dereliction. I felt like a failure for being fat and was furious with myself for it. Why do we turn our anger inward and not outward at the main cause of the crisis? And by extension, why do we seek to shame people taking Ozempic but not those who, say, take drugs to lower their blood pressure?

The answer, I think, lies in two very old notions. The first is the belief that obesity is a sin. When Pope Gregory I laid out the seven deadly sins in the sixth century, one of them was gluttony, usually illustrated with grotesque-seeming images of overweight people. Sin requires punishment before you can get to redemption. Think about the competition show “The Biggest Loser,” on which obese people starve and perform extreme forms of exercise in visible agony in order to demonstrate their repentance.

The second idea is that we are all in a competition when it comes to weight. Ours is a society full of people fighting against the forces in our food that are making us fatter. It is often painful to do this: You have to tolerate hunger or engage in extreme forms of exercise. It feels like a contest in which each thin person creates additional pressure on others to do the same. Looked at in this way, people on Ozempic can resemble athletes like the cyclist Lance Armstrong who used performance-enhancing drugs. Those who manage their weight without drugs might think, “I worked hard for this, and you get it for as little as a weekly jab?”

We can’t find our way to a sane, nontoxic conversation about obesity or Ozempic until we bring these rarely spoken thoughts into the open and reckon with them. You’re not a sinner for gaining weight. You’re a typical product of a dysfunctional environment that makes it very hard to feel full. If you are angry about these drugs, remember the competition isn’t between you and your neighbor who’s on weight-loss drugs. It’s between you and a food industry constantly designing new ways to undermine your satiety. If anyone is the cheat here, it’s that industry. We should be united in a struggle against it and its products, not against desperate people trying to find a way out of this trap.

There are extraordinary benefits as well as disturbing risks associated with weight-loss drugs. Reducing or reversing obesity hugely boosts health, on average: We know from years of studying bariatric surgery that it slashes the risks of cancer, heart disease and diabetes-related death. Early indications are that the new anti-obesity drugs are moving people in a similar radically healthier direction, massively reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke. But these drugs may increase the risk for thyroid cancer. I am worried they diminish muscle mass and fear they may supercharge eating disorders. This is a complex picture in which the evidence has to be weighed very carefully.

But we can’t do that if we remain lost in stories inherited from premodern popes or in a senseless competition that leaves us all, in the end, losers. Do we want these weight loss drugs to be another opportunity to tear one another down? Or do we want to realize that the food industry has profoundly altered the appetites of us all — leaving us trapped in the same cage, scrambling to find a way out?
