Virgin Islands

The Virgin Islands are a popular charter destination for people enjoying their first charter and for families. The 50 islands have become one of the most popular sailing grounds, with steady Trade winds, gentle currents and lots of idyllic, sheltered anchorages.

Windward Islands (St Vincent and Grenadines)

Named for its Trade winds and ocean currents, the Windwards were the destination of choice for pirates. It is the ideal cruising ground for chilled charters. With calm seas and consistent winds (10-25 knots) cruising is effortless, with line-of-sight passages that make island hopping a joy.

Leeward Islands (Antigua, St Martins, St Barts)

This chain of islands sits at the meeting point where the north-eastern Caribbean Sea meets the western Atlantic. Created by volcanic activity at the end of the last Ice Age, the arc of islands stretches southwest, offering an eclectic mix of untouched desert islands with some of the most luxurious holiday destinations in the region.

Greek Ionian Islands

Oyster Charter provides fully crewed luxury charters exclusively on Oyster yachts, the world's finest bluewater sailing boats.

Most charters are for seven days, but shorter charters may be possible on request.

Oyster Charter has been running charters for over 25 years. We will work with you to understand your needs and those of your family and guests, as well as the destinations you are interested in visiting. We know Oyster Yachts inside out and will recommend the right yacht for you. We will also create an itinerary to make sure you get the most from every minute of your charter.

We offer charter yachts in most popular sailing spots, from Italy, Spain and Croatia to the Caribbean and US East Coast. See our Charter destination section for more details.

Yes, all our charters welcome families with children. Some yachts may have an age minimum.

No, the crew are part of the charter. As a result, they know the boat inside out and will make sure all you have a fantastic cruise.

Our charter fleet carry a range of water sports gear and toys, along with TVs, sound systems and wi-fi. Please see individual listings for an overview of available water sports kit and amenities.

The water sports toys are there for your enjoyment as part of the charter. It is not possible to dive from most yachts in the fleet. If you wish to SCUBA dive, your crew will arrange diving excursions with local dive companies.

Yes, Oyster Charter yachts are fully crewed by experienced and qualified sailors. If you have experience, that is great but no experience is necessary.

Once the booking is confirmed, we will provide a charter preference sheet which will include food preferences and any activities you may wish to do during your charter. This will be sent to the crew who will then contact you to understand your requirements, answer all your questions, offer advice to help you make the most of your cruise, and prepare an itinerary and menus.

Yes, most yachts will have satellite phones, but charges apply. Personal mobile phones will work when near shore. Wi-Fi is available on some yachts – please check the individual listings to confirm this is the case on your chosen yacht.

You do not need a license or sailing qualifications - our crews are all fully qualified and responsible for sailing the yachts.

The crew are there to look after you while you are on your charter. As well as sailing, maintaining the yacht and following your itinerary, they will take care of food, refreshments and anything else you require.

The charter fee includes the yacht and crew. Additional costs are for shoreside transport, food and beverages, fuel, bar, dockage, port fees, cruising taxes and communications. VAT is applicable in EU countries. A crew gratuity of 10% to 20% of the charter fee is customary at the end of the charter.

We would collect 25% of the charter fee as an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) to be used towards these expenses. A total summary of expenses will be presented to you by the captain at the end of the charter and any funds remaining would be returned to you.

Contact Oyster Charter and we will help inform the ideal yacht charter based on your requirements. Once the yacht and location have been decided, we will ask you to sign the charter agreement and a 50% deposit will be due. Six weeks prior to the charter the balance payment, VAT and APA will be due. These funds will be held in an escrow account.

One of the lovely things about the Caribbean is that the temperatures remain consistent throughout the year; however, there are some other weather considerations that you will want to factor in when making your caribbean yachting vacation plans. Read More....

Vacations here are most popular between November and July.

If you are thinking of a megayacht, you will want to keep in mind that many of these private yachts which are Caribbean based in winter leave in the late spring and early summer months. They will return again in early winter; however, this does limit their availability. To charter a mega yacht, you will want to make sure that you do so well in advance.

I've taken charters all over the world and Jesse and Matty were great. Knowledgeable, professional AND we caught fish!!! An enthusiastic two thumbs up

What an awesome experience! The way a private charter should be enjoyed! We had a morning private charter for 4 people and my service dog, Stella. They accommodated all of us and we had a delicious light lunch and beverages on the boat. I was able to play my own music which is a big plus for me! Jesse was our captain and Joe was helping him out and they were both super friendly and knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. They really made the experience that much better. I usually get sea sickness and I was able to sit next to captain Jesse going to Molokini crater. Peace of mind pays no price. The boat is new, in great condition, and makes you feel so much safer being with a crew that fishes often and knows the sea. The location is perfect for people staying in Kihei. So much easier than going to maalea harbor which is 13 miles off the shore. The afternoons in Maui have major trade winds so ideally this harbor is better just because it's closer. Lol. Not to brag; but we truly had the best weather conditions today -- Glassy water, no afternoon wind, and sunny skies all throughout. We wish we had more time in Maui, but since we live on Oahu we'll definitely be back with more friends and family. 10/10 recommend over any other charter. Worth every penny. Thank you guys again! See you all soon -- mahalo

My daughter and I took a private boat trip with Green Island Charters in Maui today. We had an amazing time. We did not want to go snorkeling or fishing so Jesse took us along the coast and around Molokai. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great ideas for things to do back on land. I would definitely recommend this company and if you can, ask for Jesse. He's native to Maui and made the day great!

Met up with Jesse and Joe on a Sunday morning for the absolute most perfect day on the water. My girlfriend, my Dog and two of our friends got to enjoy snorkeling at Molokini crater, attempted some fishing as we went ti different locations. We were able to see turtles and plenty of fish. They guys even provided water, soda, juice, beer and spiked seltzers. They were extremely knowledgeable about their trade and navigated the water with ease. If you want to go out on the water with professionals, look no further then Green island charters! 100% will use them Again when I come visit Maui again! Aloha!

Third year with Captain Matty! Between the six of us, we caught 21 of the best tasting fish we have ever had! Besides awesome fishing this year was one of the best Whale watches we have been on. Truly, a must do while in Maui, with a company that strives to give you a wonderful experience. They really care about making this a special occasion, and go far above extraordinary. I love this company so much! Jesse, the Capitan, is so knowledgeable and attentive. He even taught me how to catch a fish! We were one of the few boats that could go to Molokini and we saw an octopus out there! To be able to fish and go snorkeling in one trip was so awesome. Thank you Jesse and team! Your customer service was incredible. We couldn't have been happier with our trip!

My family (including 4 kids) had a great time on our fishing/snorkel trip with Jesse and Chris. Despite some unfavorable weather conditions, we were still able to catch some fish. They allowed us to decide how much time we wanted to fish vs. snorkel and when. We choose to snorkel in the middle of the trip to break it up and cool off. The snorkeling was amazing among sea turtles. They had quality snorkel equipment (better than the other snorkeling trip we had later in the week). Chris got in the water with me and the kids and explained which fish and sea urchins we were seeing. I was so grateful that he kept a close eye on the kids so I could enjoy the snorkeling experience as well. Jessie was very knowledgable about fishing. He also shared lots of history about the islands and culture. The lunches they provided were surprisingly tasty too. It was a great experience!

We recently booked a private fishing trip with Green Island Charters. We had a fantastic time fishing with Jesse and the crew. They were fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. We caught multiple different types of fish but the best part was my 3 year old son catching and reeling in his first fish! Seeing Maui from the water is a must! The views are beautiful, the boat was spacious and super clean. I would highly recommend booking private with Green Island Charters it's such a different experience then booking with the larger boats. We will be be using them again for sure.

What an amazing day! Went out with just me and my boyfriend. We did some fishing and whale watching, and got to swim at molokini with just us! We ended our trip on the back side of molokini and caught a huge uku well half of one, a shark got the other half!! It was sucha great experience to be on a smaller boat and really get one on one time fishing. Would love to go out with a fun small group of friends. Highly recommend if your looking for a special unforgettable maui experience.
