The Westport 164 luxury yacht series built by American yacht builder Westport is one of the most sought-after and revered yachts in its size range on the market. Launched from the Pacific Northwest shipyard, Westport first began producing the 164-foot series in 2006. Built in all fiberglass, the Westport 164 is one of the larger series produced by Westport. The hulls of yachts in this series are the work of Bill Garden and the styling is by the renowned Donald Starkey. As with other Westport yachts, the Westport 164 series provides a perfect platform for an owner to customize the yacht’s interior to an extent, including the capability to rearrange non-structural bulkheads. W164 Superyacht Overview

All yachts in the Westport 164 series are ABS classed and MCA compliant. The Westport 164 has a top speed of 25 knots and cruises at 22 knots. She is powered by twin 3,650hp MTU engines. The yacht’s draft measures in at seven feet, three inches (2.2m) and ensures that she can access even more-shallow islands, inlets and is ideally suited for cruising locations such as The Bahamas. The Westport 164 also offers an impressive range. She can cruise 5,200 nautical miles when cruising at 12 knots. Her range at 16 knots is reportedly 2,900 nautical miles.

Tri-Deck Layout

Westport 164 luxury yachts for sale typically have three decks with alfresco spaces for guests to enjoy. The main deck aft is outfitted with an alfresco dining space. Some Westport 164s also have a main-deck foredeck seating space. The bridge deck also often has alfresco dining space and a seating area forward of the bridge. The sundecks of the Westport 164s are outfitted with Jacuzzis, full bars, alfresco dining and lounge spaces.

Yacht Accommodations

The 30-foot (9.2m) beam of the Westport 164 provides the perfect platform for a variety of configurations. As is customary for Westport, the yacht’s interior is customizable and often is designed by the owner. The yacht does offer a six-stateroom configuration. The most popular version has the full-beam master stateroom on the main deck, the VIP stateroom on the bridge deck where it has a private terrace and the additional staterooms below deck. Some opt to use one of the below deck staterooms as a gym rather than a fourth stateroom. The yacht typically carries 12 guests, but in a five-stateroom-plus-gym configuration, the Westport 164 would welcome 10 guests.

50m Zepter Yachts motor yacht JoyMe for sale

The 49.9-metre motor yacht JoyMe is newly listed for sale with Sebastiano Pitasi of Next Yachting.

Built of steel and aluminium in 2011 by Croatian yard Philip Zepter Yachts , to extraordinary exterior and interior designs by Philip Zepter, the distinctive vessel was refitted in 2024. Her naval architecture is by Srdjan Djakovic.

Her pop art interior decoration is by Marijana Radovic . Accommodation is provided for a party of 12 in six cabins, comprising master suite and VIP suite, both positioned on the upper deck with private terrace and saloon, and four further guest cabins on the main deck. There are quarters for a crew of 12.

Radovic has approached every interior space - including the cabins - as a separate entity and has designed each one in a different, eye-popping way with large artworks throughout and an emphasis on natural light.

A spa area with sea views on the lower deck plays host to a gymnasium, Finnish sauna, and hammam while a massive aft deck has 47 square metres of space, ideal for al fresco entertaining and dining.

Describe IJE

The owner has a dream build team, one that has built several yachts. Each is a remarkable achievement and IJE, it's safe to say, tops them all. She is a tour de force and the longest Benetti ever built.

The briefest glance will tell you that the beautifully balanced exterior lines bear the distinctive signature of sought-after star studio RWD. The owner's team worked very closely with them to perfect the look of decks seeming to float one above the other.

Inside she has wonderfully informal beach-house style, airy, welcoming and restful, which is perfect for a family yacht. Another stamp of excellence is expert naval architecture by PierLuigi Ausonio.

Most appealing features?

In the main saloon the full-height glass walls can slide back to open the space up. The difference that makes is hard to explain but it completely changes the environment.

Sound becomes softer and you can hear the sea, the air and light change to make it a shaded outside space. The entire experience is so much more restful. It's a break-through piece of design.

The main deck aft has a good-sized pool, open-air dining, a bar, several different lounge areas including a TV lounge - everything families need to spend the day together. 

There's a fully equipped lower deck gym with one of the largest sea terraces I've seen on a yacht of this size, and opposite is the tender and toy garage, which is packed with the latest kit.

She has two 12m (40ft) tenders on the foredeck to take extended families ashore together. That longer length means they're faster, more comfortable, carry more people and equipment and have better range.

There are eleven cabins for 22 guests, including a private owner's deck with walkaround sidedecks and a bedroom suite with direct access to the foredeck helipad.

An elevator connects lower to bridge decks and there is corridor access from the lower deck lobby to the beach club so that all generations of the family can enjoy step-free time together.

There's a dedicated cinema, a very private nightclub complete with fully equipped bar, lighting and sound systems and DJ station, and a bridge deck games room with access to the aft deck's firepit lounge.

The main deck has a beauty treatment room and hair salon and a massage room equipped to double as a hospital. She has everything any family could want or need for extended cruising.

Need to know?

Right from the start, she was intended to be a world-cruising family yacht, one that could take the owner and their family cruising in any part of the world, places where the weather is not always reliable. To keep everyone on board comfortable, underway or at anchor, she has two sets of Naiad stabilisers.

In more and more locations anchoring is not allowed to protect reefs and seabeds so she has been fitted with a Rolls-Royce dynamic positioning system to hold position without having to anchor. 

Operating in the Mediterranean, yachts are generally well catered for and there are plenty of diversions ashore. When you get off the beaten track, which IJE was designed and built to be able to do, the infrastructure can become indifferent, distances greater, comfort and entertainment on board more important.

Title Transfers

When you buy a vehicle, you need to transfer the vehicle’s title to establish yourself as the new legal owner.

Before you begin:

Have the California Certificate of Title with you. Make sure the title has been signed by the buyer(s), seller(s), and lienholder (if applicable).

If you do not have the title, complete an Application for Replacement or Transfer of Title (REG 227) .

Have the following:

• Your driver’s license number
• Vehicle license plate number
• Vehicle identification number (VIN)
• Legal owner (or lienholder) name and address
• Vehicle make, model, and year
• Purchase date and price

Be able to pay the transfer fee . All transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Allow 30 days from the day DMV receives your documents to process your title transfer.

An individual, co-owners, trust, or business may be established as the owner.

Title transfer requirements vary based on circumstance. If you need additional guidance, the FAQs below may help.

Any change of the current registered owner or lienholder (legal owner) of a vehicle or vessel/boat requires transferring the title to the new owner. Transfer of ownership between the seller and the buyer must be started with DMV within 10 days of the sale of the vehicle or boat. You will need:

• The California Certificate of Title. 
• Signature(s) of the seller(s), buyer(s), and lienholder (if applicable).
• Transfer fees . All transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer.   

Once you start the online Title Transfer process, a DMV Virtual Assistant will let you know if you also need:

• Smog certification
• Use tax and/or various other fees.
• Application for Replacement or Transfer of Title (REG 227) form.
• A Vehicle/Vessel Transfer and Reassignment (REG 262) form.
• A Statement of Facts (REG 256) form.
• A Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (REG 138) form.
• Other less commonly used forms.

The example below indicates where to complete the current California Certificate of Title.

FRONT OF TITLE: Current registered owner or legal owner (Lienholder) signs and dates here to release ownership. If you are changing legal ownership by removing or deleting a Lienholder, the current registered owner(s) does  not  sign line 1A/1B and does  not  complete lines 3A-13.

BACK OF TITLE: New lienholder’s name (such as a bank or other financial institution), if any, is printed here.

A vehicle can be registered in the name of a trust as registered owners. The purchasers would enter the name of the trust as the new registered owner on the back of the title with one of the trustees signing for the trust. When the transfer of ownership is processed, it would be processed just like a vehicle being registered in a company’s name vs. an individual as owner.

A vehicle or vessel may be owned by two or more co-owners. Co-owner names may be joined by “and”, “and/or”, or “or”. Certificates issued for applications  not  indicating “and” or “or” between the names will show “and” as represented by a slash (/) between the names.

All owners  must  endorse the title or registration application to register the vehicle or boat, but the requirements for releasing ownership vary.

The signature of only  one  owner is required to transfer ownership when the co-owner names are joined by “and/or” or “or”.

Ownership passes to the surviving co-owner upon the death of a co-owner or, with the surviving co-owner’s release, to a new owner. A deceased co-owner’s interest may only be released by one of the following:

• Heir of the deceased with an  Affidavit for Transfer Without Probate California Titled Vehicle or Vessels Only (REG 5)  form.
• Administrator with Letters of Administration.
• Executor with Letters Testamentary.

When the names are joined by the word “or,” one owner can sell the vehicle without the other’s signature. The word “and” or a slash (/) requires the signature of each owner to sell the vehicle.

Submit the following to DMV:

• A California Certificate of Title or, if lost, an  Application for Replacement or Transfer of Title (REG 227)  form, signed for the decedent and countersigned by the heir. Example: John Jones by Mary S. Jones, sole heir, successor, administrator, executor, conservator, guardian, or trustee.
• Affidavit for Transfer Without Probate California Titled Vehicle or Vessels Only (REG 5)  form completed by the heir. A power of attorney (POA) cannot be used to sign a REG 5.
• Court order, Letters Testamentary, Letters of Administration, Letters of Administration with Will Annexed, or Letters of Special Administration.
• A REG 256 with the applicable sections completed.
• An odometer disclosure statement for vehicles less than 10 years old completed on the California Certificate of Title or Vehicle/Vessel Transfer and Reassignment Form (REG 262) (not available online).
• Fees for transfer of ownership and, if due, registration renewal and use tax.

Transfer Without Probate

In certain situations, the decedent’s heir may transfer title of a vehicle/vessel without going through probate. Requirements are:

• Person(s) who succeeded to the property of the decedent.
• Conservator or guardian of the property of the person(s) who succeeded to the property of the decedent.
• Beneficiary under the decedent’s last will and testament.
• Trustee(s), under a trust agreement by the deceased, in which the primary beneficiaries are the next of kin.
• The value of the decedent’s property in California does not exceed $150,000. Does  not  include vehicles, vessels, commercial coaches, or manufactured, mobile, or floating homes. To calculate the property value, see  California Probate Code  §13050.
• The vehicle/vessel is titled in California. Vehicles/vessels titled in another state  must  be transferred in that state (requirements may differ from California).
• 40 days have lapsed since the registered or legal owner’s date of death.
• An original or certified copy of each owner’s death certificate and, if owned jointly by two or more decedent’s, a REG 5 for the most recent decedent
• If owned jointly by two or more persons and one is deceased, a REG 5  cannot  be used to circumvent the surviving owner’s interest. However, the surviving owner (if an heir) may complete a REG 5 to release the decedent’s interest. The title must be signed twice, once by the surviving owner and once on behalf of the decedent.

Trust Transfers

Establishment of a trust commits the property or assets of an individual(s) to a trustee for use or safekeeping.

• A releasing signature for a trust  cannot  be made by power of attorney, unless the power of attorney document is restricted to a specific transaction.
• If more than one trustee is shown without “or,” or a slash (/) between the names,  each  trustee must sign the title.
• If the trustee signing is not shown on the title, a REG 256 (Section G) is required attesting to his/her appointment as successor trustee by the trustor or retiring trustee.
• If a trustee releases interest of a vehicle/vessel not registered to a trust, ownership is determined by the decedent’s will as contained in the trust document. The trust document and REG 262 copies may be required.
• If no trustee name is shown on the title, a REG 256 (Section G) is required attesting to his/her appointment as trustee or successor trustee by the trustor.

Transfer With Court Documents

The Certificate of Title must be signed for the decedent and countersigned by the executor or administrator.

Once the buyer has all the required documentation and DMV receives the completed Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability from the seller, the seller’s part of the sale is complete. Once the buyer provides DMV with all the proper documents and fees, and all the requirements are met (for example, smog certification), the vehicle record is updated to reflect the change of ownership (the seller’s name is removed) and a registration card is issued to the new owner. A new title is issued within 10-15 calendar days.
