Her top speed is 24.0 kn, her cruising speed is 20.0 kn, and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 2500.0 nm at 12.0 kn, with power coming from two Caterpillar diesel engines. She can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, with 5 crew members waiting on their every need. She has a 7.67 m beam.

She was designed by Westport , who also completed the naval architecture and designed the interior. Westport has designed 89 yachts, created the naval architecture for 63 yachts, and designed the interior of 112 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

When delivered, WESTPORT 117 will join a fleet of 1132 motor yachts in the 35-40m size range. Compared to similarly sized motor yachts, her cruising speed will be 1.67 kn above the average and her top speed 2.11 kn above the average.

It might’ve just ticked over to 2020, but we’re already wishing away the year just so we can see Westport ’s sporty new superyacht in the flesh. The Washington State shipyard just released a bunch of new renders of the 117-foot vessel , which is currently under construction and due to be delivered in 2021.

Bringing the shipyard’s lineup of semi-custom yachts to six, the new motor yacht will feature a raised pilothouse with a GRP hull and superstructure. Developed using cutting-edge 3-D modeling and structural software, the Westport 117 promises to balance contemporary styling with high performance.

Sporting twin diesel-fueled Caterpillar C32 Acert engines that deliver 1900 hp each, the sporty vessel will be able to cut through the seas at a top speed of 24 knots or travel leisurely at a cruising speed 20 knots. To ensure the onboard comfort of its guests, the superyacht will be fitted with two 35 Seakeeper gyro stabilizers designed to keep things nice and still during anchor.

The Westport 117 features a two-level flybridge that’s decked out with steering controls, a wet bar with BBQ and bar stool. She will be capable of accommodating 10 guests across five generous staterooms, as well as five crew members. Given the 25-foot beam, the spacious vessel will feature an expansive main saloon, and Westport is continuing its longstanding tradition of allowing seafarers to customize the interior layout however they please.

As you might expect, the superyacht will be replete with five-star amenities, including a hot tub, al fresco dining areas and a beach club equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment systems. And to top it off, the Westport 117 yacht will be able to house an AB Nautilus 15DLX tender with a 70hp Yamaha outboard motor.

Westport expects hull number one to be ready in 2021. Hey, at least we’ll have something to look forward to.

Westport Yachts Announces 117-footer

Thanks to officials in Washington state lifting Covid-19 restrictions,  Westport Yachts is beginning construction on its newly tooled Westport 117 raised pilothouse motoryacht.

Work is scheduled to begin the first week of June, with the yacht expected to be completed in 2022. The build will be ABS classed and MCA compliant.

The Westport 117 has a beam of 25 feet 2 inches, and a draft of 6 feet 7 inches. There are accommodations for 10 guests, including a main-deck master stateroom, along with quarters for five crew.

According to Westport, the 117 will have a cruising speed of 20 knots with a top-end speed of 24 knots. Power is a pair of 1,900-horsepower Caterpillar C32 Acerts.

This sporty yet elegant yacht is built to ABS Classification with a GRP hull and superstructure.

The relaxation area aft on the flybridge is equipped with sun loungers - perfect for those who are fond of sunbathing. Guests can also soak in the Jacuzzi tub or enjoy a beverage at the bar.

Storage facility for tenders and water toys provides enough space to house an AB Nautilus 15DLX tender with a 70hp Yamaha motor. To ensure comfort while underway and at anchor, the yacht is fitted with 35 Seakeeper gyro stabilizers.

The main deck salon hosts spacious dining and lounge areas that benefit from plenty of natural light. The daylight comes from large windows, as the superstructure side and pilothouse windows were designed with a frame providing unobstructed views.

The glass bridge is equipped with stainless steel and teak-rimmed helm station wheel. Located on the flybridge wet bar, a bbq area and bar stools are great for spending time on the deck during warm sunny days.

A pair of CAT A32 Acert engines 1,900 hp each provides a top speed of 24 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots.

Accommodation is provided for up to eight guests in the following layout: full-beam master stateroom, a full-beam VIP, one double and one twin cabins. The crew quarters can sleep up to 5 staff members.

The W117 is upgraded styling on a platform that may appear familiar to eagle-eyed enthusiasts. The Westport 112 might come to mind and even that model has received its own style updates in the last few years. Even though the W117 might have taken a few cues from its slightly smaller model-mate, it does have its own individualism. The design inside and out is in-house by the yard. The W117 yacht is slightly wider than the W112 since it is longer, compare a 7.7-meter beam on the W117 vs the 7.2-meters on the W112.

Expect to see a four cabin layout onboard this vessel, enough to sleep up to ten (10) guests. There is a master suite, VIP, queen berth double and then a twin cabin that likely has the pullman setup. Power is by CAT C32 ACERT engines which will permit the W117 a 24-knot top end and fast cruise at 20-knots. This is almost on par with what the W112 usually attains.
