Annapolis Keels & Wheels

We have been asked to provide classic boats for this great event in downtown Annapolis, Maryland at the Annapolis Yacht Club.  The small fee of $25 supports the AYC Junior Sailing Program.  Register here: Annapolis Keels & Wheel

Maryland Maritime Heritage Foundation

We are the Maryland, Maritime Heritage Foundation. 

We are neither port nor starboard, fore or aft. We are the keel down, middle of the boat, giving it strength and purpose. We do what we all like doing the most: maintaining, preserving and restoring our classic and historical boats on land and enjoying them  on the water!

We are the helping hand of classic and historical boat ownership. With hundreds of years of hands-on experience, our members have the institutional knowledge and resources to help you acquire and maintain your “Pride & Joy”. We work together to help each other solve problems and answer questions about running and maintaining our classic boats. In short, we help take the anxiety out of old boat ownership!

Through the Maryland Maritime Heritage Festival, a 501-c3 non-profit organization, we host an annual boat festival on the beautiful waterfront in Chestertown, Maryland dedicated to showcasing the legacy of traditional Chesapeake Bay Working, Sailing, Racing and Recreational boats. 

We invite you to be a part of this exciting journey as we gather together to enjoy our passion for these beautiful historic and classic boats – on and off the water!

We look forward to your visit, whether you are an Entrant , a Sponsor or just enjoying the show. This page has some important and basic information for a quick glance, however, be sure to click the links on this page to learn more should you need more information.

Keels & Wheels Tickets

May 6 & 7, 2023, keels & wheels general admission tickets.

• Adults (online or in advance) $30
• Adults (at the gate) $40
• Students w/ ID (13-18) (at the gate) $15
• Children (12 and younger)  FREE

*Please note: no pets allowed, no outside coolers, no alcohol, no pop-up tents and no skateboards.

Club Concours Tickets

Add some luxury to your Keels & Wheels experience with passes to the new Club Concours. A VIP experience designed for those who want to enjoy all Keels & Wheels and Lakewood Yacht Club have to offer.

The Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance will take place at the Lakewood Yacht Club. The Lakewood Yacht Club is located at the eastern end of Clear Lake on NASA Parkway, just 3 miles east of NASA Space Center, and 30 minutes south of Houston.

Gate times:

Saturday : 10am to 5pm Sunday : 9am to 4pm

Free local area parking is available.  Parking is available on HWY 146 as well as on NASA Parkway.  Signs along those roads will mark parking areas for Keels & Wheels. Scroll down for free Parking & Shuttle Service locations maps ( or click here to jump down ).

Handicap Parking

Available on a first come first serve basis. You must have the appropriate sticker or hanger on your vehicle designating it a handicapped vehicle.

Please proceed to the Nasa Parkway entrance (between the townhouses). There will be a police officer at the gate who will direct you to the designated handicapped parking on-site. If your vehicle is not properly identified, the police office will not let your vehicle park on-site.

Free shuttle buses to and from parking areas and events are located along NASA Parkway and Highway 146. Maps of shuttle locations here

Shuttle service times:

Saturday: 9am-6pm Sunday: 8am-5pm

Food will be available for purchase inside the event grounds. You will have your choice of eating inside the club or at an outside food court.  There will also be wine and beer beverage tents throughout the grounds.

Restrictions

No pets, No coolers, No skateboards

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
