The 57.2m (187.7ft) motor yacht MESERRET II has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure constructed to Lloyd’s classification and MCA compliance by the Dutch shipyard Cammenga Jachtbouw.

She was delivered in 1978 and rebuilt and substantially refitted in 2004, 2009 and 2015. Her exterior design by De Vries Lentsch evokes the golden age of yachting and her original Bannenberg interiors were restyled by Dimitri Koutoukos in 2004.

A large sun deck as a raised jacuzzi forward surrounded by sunpads and a semi-circular sit-up wet bar beneath the hardtop forward of the funnel. Aft of the funnel there is a boat deck with two tenders, 6.5m (21.3ft) and 6.1m (20ft), and a range of toys launched by two deck cranes. With the tenders deployed, the boat deck presents a range of relaxation and entertainment options.

On the upper deck aft there is open-air dining beneath the overhang and a large deck space with a sun lounge with C-shaped banquette seating and armchairs and a pop-up aft-facing TV for movie nights.

There is another covered open-air lounge on the main deck aft. Both main and upper decks have walkaround sidedecks and there is a Portuguese bridge lounge forward on the upper deck and toy stowage forward on the main deck.

Boarding is via hydraulic side gangways port and starboard, both with shell door swim platforms, and a hydraulic passerelle port aft.

From the upper deck aft sliding glass doors lead into a sky lounge with a sit-up bar to starboard, lounge seating to port, a DJ station and a dayhead with internal and external access.

A central spiral staircase leads down to the main deck lobby where there are two dayheads, a main saloon aft and a large formal dining room to starboard, adjacent to the galley.

She welcomes up to 14 guests in eight cabins with two single cabins for secretaries or security staff. The owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, has access from the lobby and from the deck. It features a private office, bedroom, walk-in dressing room and a marble bathroom with a rain shower.

There is a VIP suite on the upper deck and the lower deck is home to four double cabins and a twin cabin as well as the two staff cabins.

Twin 1,350hp Paxman diesel engines give her a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a transatlantic range of 6,000nm at her passage speed of 12 knots. Vosper Thornycroft stabilisers deliver comfort underway.

57m Cammenga classic motor yacht Meserret II for sale

The 57.2-metre classic motor yacht Meserret II is newly listed for sale with Matt Pinckney of Burgess .

Built in steel and aluminium in 1978 at Dutch shipyard Cammenga Jachtbouw , she has been rebuilt and substantially refitted during yard periods in 2004, 2009 and 2021.

Exterior design, featuring an elegant canoe stern by Willem De Vries Lentsch Jr , "evokes the golden age of yachting", according to the broker, who described her as a "genuine classic gentleman's yacht".

Meserret II's original Bannenberg interiors were restyled by Dimitri Koutoukos in 2004. There is accommodation for up to 16 guests, made up of seven principal guest cabins and two single cabins for children or staff. The master suite, with private office, is on the main deck while the VIP cabin is up on the sundeck. Crew quarters allow for a complement of up to 18.

The 683GT classic yacht for sale has a maximum speed of 16 knots, under her twin Paxman diesels engines, and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Range at 12 knots is an impressive 6,000 nautical miles. Her Vosper Thornycroft stabilisers make for comfortable cruising.

MY Meserret III is a luxury yacht built by Peene-Werft at Wolgast in 1992. The yacht was formerly known as Leander G . She is owned by Mehmet Omer Koç. [3]

Meserret III was designed by Claus Kusch, who had previously designed two yachts named Katalina for the original owner, Brigadier Sir Timothy Landon. Her steel hull has a bulbous bow , a classic canoe stern, together with a helicopter deck and topped by a three deck aluminium superstructure - six decks in total. She has a range of communal guest areas including a Main Saloon and Dining room on her Main Deck, a Boat deck saloon, Jacuzzi Deck, Observation Deck and Study, a Fitness room, a Dive Room and Swim Platform. There are 10 suites in total, consisting of two Master suites with office/study and a forward facing saloon, 3 double guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms and 5 twin guest cabins with bathrooms. In all, she can accommodate 22 guests as well as a crew of 23. [1] [4]

The yacht was ordered in October 1990 by Brigadier Sir Timothy Landon from the former East German shipyard Peene-Werft at Wolgast to replace his yacht Katalina , his second of that name. After shipping to a Hamburg shipyard for outfitting, the arrangement of the interior accommodation was undertaken by Pauline Nunns Associates, and interior decorator Heinz Vollers of Hamburg. Part way through outfitting, Landon decided to keep his existing Katalina , reportedly due to ill-health, and sold the yet-unnamed vessel to Sir Donald Gosling, who took over the final stages of the build at what was described as an excellent price. Gosling (who coincidentally had later owned Landon's original yacht Katalina of 1992) named the yacht after the cruiser HMS Leander , the first Royal Navy ship in which he served. [4] [5] She was refitted in 1998 and 2001. [4]

Under Gosling's ownership, Meserret III habitually flew the British White Ensign as Gosling was a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron, but the Red Ensign is flown when chartered (see photograph). [6]

Gosling sold the yacht in February 2016 through broker Peter Insull to an unnamed private buyer, who removed the yacht from the charter market. [7]

During her ownership by Gosling the yacht was available for charter, certified with accommodation for up to 12 guests, serviced by 23/28 crew. [8] Meserret III remained one of the most expensive British-owned yachts on the charter market, until the launch of the 280-foot Greek-built Annaliesse . [9] Gianni Agnelli of Fiat and the gossip columnist Taki have previously chartered Meserret III . [10]

Royal charters

Following the decommissioning of the Royal Yacht Britannia , she was used by members of the British Royal Family. In summer 2007, she was chartered by then Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for a holiday in the Mediterranean. In February 2008, she was chartered by Charles, Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall for their royal tour of islands in the Caribbean.

There is also a VIP stateroom with king-size bed, three queen cabins and two twin cabins, all located on the lower deck. A further two single cabins, suitable for staff or children can also be found on the lower deck.

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The transaction could not be confirmed, with yacht world insiders declining to share what they know and representatives for Zuckerberg not responding to a request for comment from Business Insider. In the past, reports about Zuckerberg owning superyacht Ulysses have proven false.

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

She was delivered in 1978 and rebuilt and substantially refitted in 2004, 2009 and 2015. Her exterior design by De Vries Lentsch evokes the golden age of yachting and her original Bannenberg interiors were restyled by Dimitri Koutoukos in 2004.

A large sun deck has a raised jacuzzi forward surrounded by sunpads and a semi-circular sit-up wet bar beneath the hardtop forward of the funnel. Aft of the funnel there is a boat deck with two tenders, 6.5m (21.3ft) and 6.1m (20ft), and a range of toys launched by two deck cranes. With the tenders deployed, the boat deck presents a range of relaxation and entertainment options.

On the upper deck aft there is open-air dining beneath the overhang and a large deck space with a sun lounge with C-shaped banquette seating and armchairs and a pop-up aft-facing TV for movie nights.

There is another covered open-air lounge on the main deck aft. Both main and upper decks have walkaround sidedecks and there is a Portuguese bridge lounge forward on the upper deck and toy stowage forward on the main deck.

Boarding is via hydraulic side gangways port and starboard, both with shell door swim platforms, and a hydraulic passerelle port aft.

From the upper deck aft sliding glass doors lead into a sky lounge with a sit-up bar to starboard, lounge seating to port, a DJ station and a dayhead with internal and external access. A central spiral staircase leads down to the main deck lobby where there are two dayheads, a main saloon aft and a large formal dining room to starboard, adjacent to the galley.

She welcomes up to 14 guests in eight cabins with two single cabins for secretaries or security staff. The owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, has access from the lobby and from the deck. It features a private office, bedroom, walk-in dressing room and a marble bathroom with a rain shower.

There is a VIP suite on the upper deck and the lower deck is home to four double cabins and a twin cabin as well as the two staff cabins.

Twin 1,350hp Paxman diesel engines give her a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a transatlantic range of 6,000nm at her passage speed of 12 knots. Vosper Thornycroft stabilisers deliver comfort underway.

REFIT OF ICONIC YACHT 75m LEANDER-G

In November 2020 Vickers Studio signed the contract to design the refit of the iconic 75m yacht Leander G. The scope of works was for new layouts on all four decks with new interior fit out of all surfaces, including all new lighting, furniture, fabrics and accessories.

The client was a very experienced yacht owner with a clear idea of the intention for the new interior, design and exterior furniture. The timescale was very demanding, and Leander was already waiting in RMK Istanbul with the teams in place to strip out the interior. All that was needed was the design…

Vickers Studio were awarded this prestigious project on the back of John’s experience of classic yacht interiors and delivering large volumes of detailed work on tight time schedules.

The process started with a seven day visit to the client’s homes and current yachts. There was extensive time spent onboard reviewing the current state of Leander, and it was agreed by all parties that the best way forward would be to fully reconfigure the interior layout maximising the potential of the yachts volume. At the end of the week, which had been spent sketching layouts and joinery details with the owner, John had provisional approvals on much of the design concept.

The interior joinery was all based around the clients love of classical architecture and design, using the ‘golden ratio’ to create all the panelling proportions. The design included careful lighting of teak and white painted wall panelling in elegant symmetry, with feature furniture on loose rugs over wood floors.  The client’s art collection was of paramount importance and many of the interior visuals contained art positioning and the actual dimensions of various pieces. The client loved the Vickers interior for yacht Blue II and so a similar idea of a classical interior but with a modern fresh feel was created.

Through November 2020, the Vickers team created pen visuals, interior photo-real visuals and interior CAD information for the main deck, upper deck and bridge deck. These went to the client for final approval and then onto the interior fit-out teams. Throughout December and January the Vickers design team modified and approved the workshop drawings, developing solutions to the various refit issues which arose following the strip out of the interior. The difficulties of the Covid lockdowns were numerous, but there were good working relationships with all parties and a lot of Zoom calls!

In June 2021, Leander emerged from RMK with three new decks and exterior areas, ready for a full program for the owner’s summer. She returned to RMK at the end of the season for the final installation of the lower deck, guest cabins and beach club, before final completion of the two-year refit in June 2022.

Vickers Studio are covered by NDAs regarding the final interior photos, but safe to say it is one of their proudest yacht completions, not least because of Leander having been the unofficial royal yacht for the British royal family. Working with this client was an honour and a privilege for the Vickers team. Not only was she completed in record time, but we feel this classic yacht now has the interior detailing fitting for a yacht of this iconic pedigree, now launched as Meserret III.
