The standard 3 Stateroom, 3 Head layout. The Master Stateroom is all the way aft with a centerline queen berth. Built in nightstands with storage and reading lights are on either side. There is abundant hanging storage inside the two bi-fold opening closets forward as well as many opening slide out drawers on both port and starboard sides. The en suite head is completely private for the master stateroom.

The guest stateroom is midships located to port with twin berths, independent reading lights and a nightstand in between. This stateroom also enjoys a spacious hanging locker. Just across the hallway is a private head with stand up stall shower, sink, vanity and ample storage.

Moving forward through the companionway there are forward and aft engine room doors for access to the port and starboard walk-in, stand up engine rooms providing outstanding visibility to all machinery in the engine space. Illuminated with both A/C and D/C lights, engine room vents and blowers, this machinery space also houses the hot water heater, fresh water pumps, A/C compressors, air tank, battery switches and various other ship's components. Everything in the engine rooms is color coded, bundled and labeled for easy access and tracing.

The galley is down to port with teak cabinetry, white counter tops and back splash making it bright and airy.

The 53 Hatteras Classic Motor Yacht has been the standard for upscale luxury cruising yachts in production for two decades with a voluminous interior and generous accommodations. This beauty is in keeping with this tradition. The salon is entered from either the aft sun deck or the two mid-ship sliding doors on either side of the salon. One is immediately struck by the large salon area, which has been tastefully redecorated by the current owners. The salon has a settee, two relaxing chairs with ottomans, new curtains, wood blinds, entertainment center and HD flatscreen TV. There is a lower helm forward in the salon. There is storage everywhere and the large dinette (which converts to sleep two) has plenty of storage underneath. The Master and VIP cabins are accessed down a centerline companionway. The VIP cabin is amid ship with twin berths, hanging locker, TV and drawer storage. The huge master cabin is aft with plenty of hanging lockers and drawer storage. The fully enclosed aft sun deck has plenty of room for entertaining with rattan furniture, a drop leaf table and a wet bar with ice maker. The fore deck can be accessed from the Sun deck in all but the worst conditions by the wide side walkways. She has a large bridge area with plenty of seating that is accessed by a ladder from the Sun deck, with a full complement of cruising instruments. Power is provided by twin 435-hp 8V71TI Detroit Diesels. The engines are easily accessed on either side of the below deck accommodations companionway. She has numerous upgrades, special equipment and unique features including a Nourvania 12' hard bottom dinghy with a 40 h.p. motor on the hardtop, a Marquipt low profile davit, 16 KW Northern Lights genset, 4 A/C units w/ SMX humidity controls,  spare props, spare shaft, new canvas & Isinglass for sun deck, two deck boxes on the bow, storage everywhere and much, much more. This vessel was Hatteras's show boat for 1969 with many custom upgrades on the motor's for the show!

This exceptional Hatteras offers a lavish interior with an expansive salon and boasts a large galley with dinette and home-sized appliances. She offers three spacious staterooms one forward and two aft. The master aft stateroom is extremely spacious and comfortable, with an island queen bed, complete head with a newer shower. The forward stateroom is spacious with abundant storage, entertainment center, and ensuite head. Without doubt, the Hatteras 50/53 Motor Yacht is the most successful medium sized motor yacht ever built, with over 600 of them between their various incarnations. They were in production from 1965 to 1989, a full twenty-four years. This yacht’s enduring popularity comes from a combination of excellent quality, good design, and a great use of space. Power is sufficient for pleasure cruising with a pair of 8V71 Naturals. Whether as a summer home or a vacation getaway, this boat has been meticulously maintained and run every season. This boat runs as well as it looks. The hulls and superstructure are built like a tank with the bottoms about an inch thick with balsa cored sides and decks. These are first rate production motor yachts. Service requirements are relatively minor if the previous owner has kept up with maintenance. "Assisted Living" is a 1974 Hatteras 53 that has been well maintained for her age. Without doubt...these vessels make great liveaboards and long distance cruisers that will take you almost anywhere you desire. However, this vessel is special in the sense that she can go easily where other Hatteras 53 cannot OR she makes going where you want to go easier and faster! How so? Your average Hatteras 53 has a flybridge with a bridge clearance of at least 21ft 6 inches or more depending on what you have mounted on top, but "Assisted Living" has a bridge clearance of 16 feet according to the vessels owner. This means you can get under fixed bridges that most larger vessels cannot get past or to that cozy anchorage that other vessels cannot reach. Additionally, you may not have to wait for a bridge opening that other large vessels have to wait for...you just motor on through! Finally, many people may think they want a flybridge, but you must remember that it comes with a cost...think double the electronics, more maintenance, higher purchase price, etc. If you are primarily a liveaboard at dock or anchor or even a "Great Looper" facing a lot of bridges, then this vessel actually may make a lot of sense.
