Dipper - Fish

The Dipper is a pintail designed to bring the compact maneuverability of a cruiser board to a carvy, flexy longboard shape. This board gives you a tight-turning, responsive ride that will make weekday commutes or casual weekend cruises the highlight of your week. The narrow width provides you with incredible control over the edges of the board so you can ride this thing aggressively if you want to or take it easy on those casual cruises. Mellow concave and a subtle rocker will have you feeling right at home on this board. Often referred to as the “best board ever” at skate sessions.  

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

MEDIUM CAVE

The perfect middle ground, enough concave that you always feel glued to your board, but not too much to hurt your feet during a longer cruise.

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

The “Fish” is created by our in-house art team, and pairs perfectly with the vibes of swimming against the tide. It has a soft, bouncy flex and a fairly long wheelbase which give it a playful, surfy ride. We set it up with soft Hawgs wheels to let you destroy any obstacle that finds itself in your path.

Flex Rating

Flex has a big impact on the overall feel of your board and is influenced by a bunch of different factors. The main ones being thickness of the deck, it's wheelbase and rider weight. To put the equation in laymans terms: more flex occurs when you decrease thickness of the deck, increase the wheelbase and increase rider weight. The more flex in your board the more carvy and agile it'll feel, less flex means it's more stable and suited for faster skating. We test every complete with a device we built in house, specifically to standardize flex ratings.

Landyachtz Dipper Fish Longboard The Dipper Fish Longboard is compact yet powerful - ditching the kicktail in favor of a flat tail, a smaller platform and narrower trucks offers you tight, responsive turns that will make everyday skating an enjoyable experience. At 36" long and 8.65" wide, this board is similar to the Ripper, but even more responsive. Its flexy ride and long wheelbase give it a surf-like feel, while the mellow concave and rocker keeps your feet secure and comfortable. Make every ride a thrilling adventure!

FLEX RATING: 7 So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most! TRUCKS POLAR BEAR 105MM Ideal for the mini cruiser that every skater needs in their quiver. The 105mm Polar Bears are strong, agile, and ready to grip the tightest turns. Sold in pairs. The harder the bushings, the more stable the ride but that results in less agility - our Dinghy, for example, comes with 88a bushings. WHEELS 63MM FATTY HAWGS Made famous as the wheel of choice for our Dinghy completes, Fatty Hawgs are now available separately in a multitude of colours and patterns so you can upgrade your cruiser board today.
