Chicken fried lobster with mashed potatoes and gravy and sauteed spinach is worth the stay at the Horseshoe Bay Resort! BBQ ... Octopus is best octopus dish I've had in a very long time! Read more

Really disappointed! We were guests of the resort and had a reservation (and yes it was made late). We were seated right off ... the main entry in a side room that was more a hallway with tables than a room. LOTS of foot traffic. Our server was obviouslynot a fluent English speaker. She couldn't answer our questions about the menu, and didn't seem to understand that we bothordered an entree with sides..which came out as an app course. We didn't know that bread/butter was included, since that alsoarrived with the 'apps'. All of that and the food just wasn't that good. Two loaded potatoes were cold, and my fishundercooked. Paid way to much for mediocrity. And to top off the night, was told the shuttle runs every 10 minutes. Maitre d'said he would call, and we also tried to call after waiting (no answer). Had to walk back the the hotel in the dark. Read more

We were there for a family reunion and it was fantastic! I loved the view! The food was absolutely amazing! (The sausage had a ... little extra kick to it!) But the staff? They were beyond top notch! They were courteous and friendly, perfectly balancingbeing around when you needed something, yet never hovering or intruding. I cannot say enough good things about them. El Jardin is what you would call a "hole-in-the-wall" Mexican restaurant. This company doesn't maintain much of an online presence, but frankly, they really don't have to. FAIR. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.33 feet below pool. Crappie are good in 16-24 feet of water with jigs. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service. Bass are good skipping docks with wacky rigged and Texas-rigged worms, or throwing swimbaits and crankbaits around any grass you find will catch some also. You can also throw shallow crankbaits and frogs along the retaining walls to catch some bigger ones. Report by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs.
