Our racing program has developed into one of the most active on Narragansett Bay with Spring, Summer, and Fall PHRF series. There are both Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker classes which provide both fun and competition for novice as well as the experienced sailor. A Crew Rotation Race is held which gives the crew the opportunity to participate in every position on the boat. A race we call the "Overnight Race" is held, either around Prudence Island or around Conanicut Island, which depending upon the wind can take all night or finish before midnight. The JYC also sponsors the popular JYC Fool's Rules Regatta where anyone puts together a "non-standard" sailboat and then tries to race it a short distance.

A "Challenge Race" is held every year between the Jamestown Yacht Club and the Conanicut Yacht Club. This rivalry only exists on the water that afternoon, as we all sail together throughout the season.

Although we lack traditional yacht club facilities, we make up for this in our Activities and Enthusiasm. Club Racing, Cruising, and Social Events are only a few of our activities. During our Racing Season, Socials follow the Tuesday night races. Everyone, racing or not, is welcome to join us at the Jamestown Country Club, just a short walk from the Conanicut Marina.

The Jefferson Yacht Club is a private yacht club with a growing membership. Persons who desire to apply for membership are required to complete a membership application which can be completed on line or submitted to the club office during normal hours of operation. All membership applications require a deposit in the amount equal to one year's dues.  Membership applications are reviewed and approved every month by the JYC Board of Directors. The JYC recognizes the following classes of members:

1. Active Members 2. Non-Resident Members 3. Lifetime Members 

New members are only eligible for active membership.

Active Membership

Active membership shall include the following classifications: Family Membership : A family membership shall apply to one active member, and the active members designated associate member who must live in the same household as the active member. Single Membership : A single membership shall apply to one active member. A single member may not designate an associate member. An Active Membership shall be available to any person who is 21 years of age or over. Active Members shall have an interest in the assets and property of the Club, shall be entitled to one vote, and can hold an office. They shall pay an initiation fee as established by the Board of Directors, dues as determined by the Membership, and a minimum expenditure for food and beverage service as set by the Board. Active Members shall be entitled to all privileges of the Club for themselves and legal dependents under the age of 21. They shall be named on the Active Members application. Additions and deletions must be submitted to the Board for approval. The Active Membership will have only one address and one account and the Active Member is responsible for all dues, fees, assessments and charges to the Club, regardless of the relationship to the Associate Member. An Associate shall be a person named on an Active Family Members application. In naming a person as an Associate, the Active Member attests that he/she is in an Associate relationship with that person, and that they reside in the same household. Active Members are limited to one Associate at a time but may change his/her Associate by submitting a revised application to the Board of Directors for approval and relinquishing the Associates membership card. An Associate shall enjoy the same privileges as an Active Member however he/she shall not pay dues, not have voting rights, not hold an office nor have an interest in the assets or property of the Club. Should the Active Member permanently leave the Club, the named Associate may assume that Active Membership by a majority vote in favor by the Board and without payment of an initiation fee. The Active and Associate Members will each be issued a membership card. They are responsible for the use of these cards for themselves and with respect to their approved dependents.

There is a one-time initiation fee of $200 for new memberships.

MEMBERSHIP DUES : FAMILY MEMBERSHIP: $650 PER YEAR plus $100/monthly minimum (billed quarterly) SINGLE MEMBERSHIP: $500 PER YEAR plus $75/monthly minimum (billed quarterly)

JYC YACHT CHARTER

Cabin Configuration

The 28.43m/93'3" 'JYC' motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard Custom Line is available for charter for up to 10 guests in 5 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

For outdoor living nonpareil, JYC is the number one choice, offering a variety of spacious living areas and fabulous amenities, vacations aboard this yacht are sure to be nothing short of spectacular.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2021, JYC offers guest accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 5 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Performance & Range

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin MAN engines, she comfortably cruises at 11 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 1,000 nautical miles from her 14,500 litre fuel tanks at 13 knots.

JYC knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with a selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. In addition there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Also there are two SEABOBs, that allow you to skim along the surface or steer under the crystal water and experience life swimming with the fish. If that isn't enough JYC also features wakeboards and snorkelling equipment. JYC also sports a Williams Jet Tenders Tender to transport you with ease.
