Used F-And-S Yachts For Sale

About f&s yachts.

For over 20 years, F&S Yachts has created some of the most beautiful and cutting-edge sports fishing yachts on the market. Lovingly crafted by internationally recognized hull designer Jim Floyd and his team, F&S Yachts are built for speed and endurance, with cold-molded hulls and the latest technology that slice through the waves like a knife through butter. Each boat is custom-built to your individual specifications, from the exterior finishes to the silverware, making F&S Yachts the superior choice for serious fisherman. Based in Jim’s native Delaware, the F&S shipyard has produced over 30 stunning, eminently fishable yachts since 1997. Shunning the assembly line, F&S’s ethos of handcraftsmanship ensures that each F&S yacht is unique and tailor-made. At F&S Yachts, artisan-quality workmanship and cutting-edge technology are the order of the day.

More About F&S Yachts

By the time F&S got its start in 1997, Delaware native and founder Jim Floyd already had several decades of experience as a master carpenter and cabinetmaker under his belt. These skills, combined with his intensive study of custom Carolina boat shops in the 1970s, formed the bedrock of F&S’s obsessive dedication to craftsmanship. After ten years of experimentation, Jim built his first yacht in a humble Delaware chicken barn. The result, the 57-foot Fin-ally – a play on his love of fishing and the many years Jim dedicated to studying the art of boat building – was an unprecedented sport fishing boat that combined the longitudinally stepped, variable deadrise hull of his beloved SeaCraft with a topside characteristic of North Carolina fleets. The Fin-ally provided the model for the specialty-engineered hulls that F&S is world-renowned for, reducing air friction to ensure a sleek, smooth, fast ride. Not one to rest on their laurels, F&S has continued to refine and develop their craft over the years, devoting their efforts producing the perfect offshore fishing machines. While perfection is a tall order, F&S yachts delivers. A typical F&S yacht is quick, steady and exceptionally rideable, with a rounded but aerodynamic aesthetic that manages to look both timeless and futuristic. Their unique and rightly lauded hulls are phenomenally efficient, minimising horsepower without compromising speed.

F&S Models

A remarkable synthesis of form and function, the F&S 75 is not just a pretty face. This streamlined vessel combines beautiful, rounded lines, a sharply pointed bow, and rich, luxurious finishes with high-tech amenities such as a Seakeeper 9 control panel, Furuno sonar, and a Simrad autopilot controller. 12-cylinder MANs ensure a responsive and easily trimmed ride as the vessel comfortably reaches 32 knots. The gorgeous salon is finished with wood grain and features windows that curve downward to a sharp point, outfitted with dimmable privacy glass. The overall effect is luxurious but understated, exuding a sense of pampered calm. The horizontal grain woodwork has a relaxed but highly refined Scandinavian feel most evident in the minimal but spacious galley kitchen. The F&S 61 is equipped with a stateroom for crew and day guests, as well as a master stateroom to starboard with plenty of storage and an ensuite bathroom with a full shower. Forward is the VIP room with an ensuite bathroom, a snug but comfortable raised queen bed with storage flanking the hullsides.

One of the standout features of this model is the stunning fighting chair in the immaculate cockpit, made of warm, polished teak. Fixed to a gleaming optical chrome platform, this chair is ready to withstand the rigors of heavy battle with marlin and bluefin tuna.

This handsome vessel looks as good in dock as it does flying through the open water. It epitomizes F&S’s mission to combine luxury with serious functionality – every aspect of this yacht’s construction is for a purpose, its beauty a result of F&S’s pragmatic artistry. The spacious, curvy salon is equipped with storage below an elegant teak table. An expansive mezzanine seating area, spacious tackle storage, a watertight lazarette hatch, and three large-capacity freezers are just a few of the amenities housed in the generous 170-square-foot cockpit, which also features a 55-gallon transom livewell. On the bridge, there are three pedestal seats and 11 rod holders ideal for dynamic, multi-species fishing. With four staterooms, including a master with an en suite bathroom and big screen TV, the F&S 75 is perfect for a group fishing expedition or for fishing enthusiasts who want to bring their family along for the ride. And what a ride it will be: with a 75-foot engine room and twin M94 MTU diesel engines and a 37-knot cruise speed, the F&S 75 can take on the high seas with ferocious grace.

The F&S 72 is a big, powerful beauty. The shipyard’s fastidious craftmanship ensures close tolerances impossible to achieve on a mass-produced scale. The gentle curves characteristic of F&S’s design are out in full force on this model: the wood-finished kitchen – complete with a two-seater breakfast bar – is gently raised from the salon by two sinuous steps that snake starboard. An S-shaped companionway runs from the crew quarters to the forward cabin with a private shower. A king-size, portside master bedroom is outfitted with the same warm wood that furnishes yacht’s interior. Opposite the master is a three-person guest cabin with access to another bathroom complete with shower. The flybridge features a Palm Beach-style helm with access on either side to the forward lounge seating. Fearsome twin MTU 16V2000CR engines ensure this expansive but sporty yacht easily reaches 30 knots.

2020 F&S 61 Express Sportfish

The custom F&S 61 Express Sportfish hull #30’s cold-molded hull with longitudinal steps and variable deadrise is a legacy of the Sea Craft hull developed by legendary Carl Moesly in the early 1960s, that inspired Jim Floyd, who founded F&S in 1996 with hull #1, a 59ft sportfish boat based on the Sea Craft’s performance hull. Moesly’s variable deadrise sequentially stepped hull and reverse sheer modifications of Ray Hunt’s deep-V, was designed for speed and stability at a range of speeds—proven in rough offshore boat racing conditions to perform successfully with multiple wins. Although based on proven traditional designs and construction processes, F&S utilizes state-of-the-art CAD technology to ensure precision and client satisfaction.

SOUL CANDY’s smooth, quiet ride and excellent efficient performance with her powerful twin 1600 hp MTU engines, hydraulic steering, bow thruster, and well-arranged helm, make her easy to operate and maneuver. Designed for offshore fishing as well as cruising and entertaining with family and friends, SOUL CANDY is loaded with amenities, storage, equipment, and clever use of space, such as the custom drop-down rod locker in the enclosed helm deck salon, motorized pop-up bar, cockpit mezzanine deck with built-in freezers, storage and more. Luxurious, satin-finished teak joinery throughout the interior aft galley-up layout, adds a touch of refined elegance to this beautiful two stateroom, two head express sportfish yacht.

2020 Custom Carolina 61 F&S Hardtop Express Fish Sportfish

SOUL CANDY NAME IS RESERVED

SOUL CANDY IS CAPTAIN MAINTAINED

The 61' F&S Express Hardtop Sportfish, SOUL CANDY, was custom CAD designed to accommodate a tall owner’s height in the interior cabins as well as the helm’s line of sight—over the bow and aft to the 120 sq ft cockpit’s Release Marine fighting chair! The beautiful, Teak cockpit features the signature F&S curved mezzanine deck and centerline step, in-transom windowed baitwell, and is fully outfitted with full custom tower by Palm Beach Towers, hydraulic outriggers, custom rod storage, freezers, in-deck fish boxes and more. The helm console is designed for easy owner operation with state-of-the-art electronics that include Furuno’s Omni commercial sonar and three networked Garmin displays. Redundant equipment and systems and plenty of built-in storage allow extended fishing trips to the Gulf of Mexico and the Bahamas and family vacation cruises. A Seakeeper 9 gyrostabilizer keeps her steady and comfortable.

The F&S cold-molded longitudinally stepped variable deadrise hull, combined with the Carolina style flared bow and traditional broken sheer, is engineered to deliver the softest and fastest ride and excellent seakeeping. SOUL CANDY’s luxurious two-stateroom, two-head layout was designed for family-friendly cruising and entertaining. En-Suite master stateroom is on portside and the forward guest stateroom features crossover upper/lower berths. A settee at the companionway landing can sleep an extra guest, if needed. The fully enclosed helm deck with salon and galley features a 360 degree view with huge custom single piece curved glass windows on both sides. A power retracting-window system opens the salon to cockpit. Galley with concealed appliances is conveniently positioned starboard aft. A large HDTV rises from the starboard countertop and further forward, a bar with bottle and glass storage rises electronically for cocktail hour. The salon’s port and aft corner features a large L-shaped sofa and coffee table. Above on portside, is a custom overhead rod storage locker. SOUL CANDY’s traditional, satin-finished book-matched Teak veneer cabinetry, joinery and trim are masterfully crafted for an elegant, superbly designed interior.

What do you do when you have produced one of the top boats in the fleet? You take everything you’ve learned from it and make it better. I had the pleasure of experiencing F&S’s latest flagship, Hull No. 31, Special Situation , in Palm Beach, Florida, with company president John Floyd, who was on-site to walk me through the build. While the last tournament-winning 78-foot Special Situation has moved on to the next owner, she didn’t move far, sitting only a few slips down from the new one. However, the latest version is a little bigger, comes with more range, and consists of only the best of the best. And, to no surprise, not a single corner was cut.

Cockpit and Flybridge

Seeing the cockpit for the first time just before first light, it was hard to grasp the sheer size of it, only able to really take it in as the sun rose above the horizon. The first thought that popped into my head was clean. For such a big boat with all the toys, the cockpit appeared like any other, but as Floyd walked me through, I quickly found out that it was anything but basic.

A cavernous, pressurized livewell with the option to add tuna tubes sat in the transom; additional fittings laid hidden in the deck for external wells. A watertight lazarette hatch is installed to keep all of the gear dry while fighting fish in big seas. But what really grabbed my attention were the curved steps leading up to the mezzanine. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also extremely wide, making it easy to quickly and safely run down to the dance floor from the mezzanine. Beneath the step, massive freezers are at the ready for long-range adventures, and the tackle center features F&S’s trademark teak drawers. A hidden purified-water dispenser is installed in an effort to reduce single-use-plastic waste. Additional storage is present under the mezzanine seating, which also features backrest air conditioning.

On the bridge, three helm chairs sit behind a large center-oriented helm. Three Garmin displays outfitted with both Garmin and Furuno technologies are flush-mounted on a matte-black panel. The Furuno Omni 360-degree sonar’s remote controls are located in the starboard flip-up box, and the overhead drop-down box features dual MTU monitoring screens. For watching the spread, an additional Garmin drop-down display is also mounted overhead.

Bridge seating features a full 180-degree bench and wraps forward around the helm, with an additional bench directly in front. For additional freezer space, look no further than the helm itself: The top flips open and features a massive internal freezer with custom dividers.

Salon and Accommodations

The first thing in the salon that caught my eye as I passed the day head were the three bar stools parked in front of the countertop. The blue cushions match the piping on the chic white U-shaped sofa on the port side, and the starboard love seat provides the perfect accent. A Release Marine convertible coffee table rests in front of the sofa and features a beautiful mother-of-pearl marlin inlay, mimicking the stool backs.

The U-shaped dinette is located to starboard and is the perfect spot to cozy up and enjoy a hearty meal. The cooktop and convection oven/microwave are nicely hidden, and four KitchenAid refrigerators/freezers sit flush under the countertops. All of the cabinets feature laser-cut inserts to hold the contents snugly in place. When you want to have a drink from your own hidden speakeasy, a hidden corner liquor elevator rises and falls flush into the countertop with the touch of a button. And if you don’t want the dock neighbors to know you’re drinking the good stuff, all of the salon windows change to completely opaque at the touch of a switch, eliminating the need for blinds and valances.

The portside closet is set up similar to a butler’s pantry, with plenty of storage for provisions and additional slide-out refrigeration. On the starboard side, the electrical closet with breaker panels and switches is neatly organized behind custom cabinetry.

Stepping down the curved teak-trimmed companionway, the master stateroom is oriented to port, and you can’t help but appreciate how bright and large it feels. A king bed is centered between handsome sconces mounted against a mirrored background, and the room offers an abundance of storage, including a dresser and hanging closet. Oddly enough, my favorite part of the master stateroom was the head. The dark-blue wall covering accented the teak perfectly, giving the space a warm feeling, while the white counter and silver hardware nodded toward a more contemporary finish. Working in unison, the stateroom felt new and inviting—a perfect combination of class and style.

The VIP stateroom with a private head is located all the way forward, and two additional bunkrooms are set off to the starboard side with an additional shared head. Aft finds a generous crew room with a private head that includes three large bunks and plenty of room to spread out. As Floyd showed me the hanging locker, he also noted the false wall, that when removed, displays a custom storage area for larger tackle—a testament to the importance of using the boat’s all-available space.

Engine Room and Performance

Floyd practically glowed as he opened the soundproof sub door from the crew quarters into the pump and engine rooms. The pump room features only the best of the best: Spot Zero SeaXchange reverse-osmosis system, ElectroSea Clearline system, twin Seakeeper 16s with custom top panels, and the F&S patent-pending closed-loop cooling system, eliminating raw-water cooling in everything except the main engines.

The boat features two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines that put out 2,600 hp per side, as well as two Onan generators. Her engine room is generous and neatly organized; the battery boxes sit inboard, as do the breaker and oil-change system, making access a breeze. The rear hatch that opens to the cockpit was specifically designed to be large enough to be able to remove and service a majority of the engine and pump-room components, without the threat of excising the deck or salon floor.

The weather was perfect for our sea trial. As Capt. Tucker Colquhoun pushed Special Situation through Lake Worth Inlet, the 82-footer leapt from the water. Floyd explained the variable-deadrise technology that he put in place, which features longitudinal steps and custom wake-adjusted running gear. When you consider all of the high-end finishes and machinery on board, Hull No. 31 is still quite light compared with similar-size vessels—proving that the F&S build process reduces weight in all possible areas.

Jogging down the shoreline at a slow cruise of 28 knots, 1,650 rpm burned around 122 gph. Colquhoun finds that the boat runs best at an 80 percent load (2,000 rpm), where she scoots along at 36 knots burning 192 gph. Slowing down to trolling speed, we admired her clean wake. Simulating a fish on, Colquhoun backed around hard and spun the boat while the CJR props chewed up the seas, launching us in whichever direction we desired. Pointing toward home, we opened her up completely, slicing through the seas with a top end of well over 42 knots at 2,450 rpm burning 278 gph.

I finally got the chance to admire those clean lines back at the dock in the full brilliance of daylight; the signature F&S curved salon glass really makes the boat unmistakable. I shook hands with Floyd and Colquhoun, thanked them for their time, and walked back to my truck, thinking to myself, If I were to build a custom sportboat, it would be just like that one. She certainly is special.

The new Four Seasons yacht will set sail in 2026.

Four Seasons has long set the gold standard for luxury accommodations on land and is renowned for its exquisite hotels that offer unparalleled comfort and service. Now, this legacy of luxury is extending its reach to the seas. In a groundbreaking move, Four Seasons Yachts , in collaboration with Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd and the esteemed Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, is introducing an ambitious venture into luxury sea travel. Scheduled to set sail in 2026, this initiative promises an experience that transcends traditional cruising, offering voyages across the mesmerizing waters of the Caribbean and the historic coasts of the Mediterranean.

Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the brand's hallmark of guest-centered luxury to the high seas. According to Reynal, this expansion into yachting is a natural extension of Four Seasons' commitment to providing personalized, elegant, and comfortable experiences. The aim is clear: to redefine luxury hospitality, but this time, against the backdrop of the world's most stunning seascapes.

The suites are breathtaking.

The inaugural season of Four Seasons Yachts is poised to offer something truly special. With ten unique voyages planned, travelers will have the opportunity to explore over 130 distinct destinations across more than 30 countries and territories. Each itinerary has been meticulously crafted, allowing guests the flexibility to design their own sea adventure. From the lively atmospheres of Caribbean islands like Saint Barthélemy and Martinique to the cultural richness of Mediterranean gems, including the Greek Isles and Croatia, these voyages promise a blend of well-loved destinations and hidden treasures.

The spacious cabins have incredible views.

Accommodations aboard the yacht are set to be a marvel in themselves. Ninety-five suites, conceived by the creative minds of Fredrik Johannson at Tillberg Design of Sweden and Creative Director Prosper Assouline, are designed to be sanctuaries of tranquility at sea. Each suite, envisioned with elegant interiors, expansive views, and a residential feel, aims to provide guests with a sense of being at home away from home. Among these, the Funnel and Loft Suites stand out for their sheer luxury and space. They offer unique features such as splash pools, outdoor showers, and breathtaking panoramic views, setting a new benchmark for luxury accommodations on water.

The pool deck features a bar and lounge chairs.

Beyond the exquisite suites, the yacht will feature various amenities designed to cater to every guest's needs. With eleven dining options, a comprehensive spa and wellness center, a state-of-the-art marina, and an innovative pool area capable of hosting events, the yacht ensures a variety of experiences that enrich the journey.

“We’re building a stunning seafaring venture that will be enjoyed as a yacht experience rather than a cruise experience," says Thatcher Brown, chief commercial officer and head of joint operations at luxury shipping specialist Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, the joint owner/operator of the Four Seasons Yachts brand. "The intrinsic value of Four Seasons brand leadership in luxury hospitality combined with the passionate pioneering spirit and expertise of the project team is manifested in the creation of truly special Four Seasons Yachts experiences."

Four Seasons Is Launching Its First Yacht in 2026—Here’s a Sneak Peek

The luxury hotel company’s foray into the world of small-ship cruising is set to launch with itineraries in the mediterranean and the caribbean..

Four Seasons has unveiled initial renderings, inaugural itineraries, and pricing for its first yacht, which promises to raise the bar on small-ship cruising.

The luxury hotel company said the first ship to launch under the new Four Seasons Yacht brand will begin sailing the Caribbean in January 2026, with seven-night itineraries that will include stops in yachting destinations like St. Bart’s, Nevis, the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Curaçao, and Aruba.

In March, the yacht will head to the Mediterranean with sailings that will include Croatia, Gibraltar, Montenegro, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye, and the Greek Isles. Ports of call in Greece will include favorites like Santorini as well as lesser-known islands like Ios and Milos.

During its first year, the yacht will sail to more than 130 destinations across 30 countries and territories. The itineraries will be crafted to be flexible, with the ability to combine them with land options at Four Seasons hotels and resorts.

Onboard, staterooms are being designed to feel more like hotel rooms than cruise ship cabins. Four Seasons said the yacht will have 50 percent more space per passenger than its competitors, which include Ritz-Carlton, the first luxury hotel company to launch its own yacht in 2022. Aman is also getting into the luxury yachting game , with plans to start sailing in 2026.

Expect the same level of Four Seasons luxury in the yachts’ signature suites.

The 95 cabins on the Four Seasons yacht, which will be able to accommodate up to 222 passengers, range in size from 500 to 9,986 square feet. The vessel’s seven largest signature suites will have either two or three bedrooms, separate living rooms, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, splash pools, outdoor showers, and the option to connect to additional suites.

All the cabins will have floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies.

For families and groups traveling together, the ship will also offer more than 100 options for connecting cabins.

The largest suite onboard, the Funnel Suite, will feature four levels of living space and floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows. The most versatile will be the Loft Suite, which will be able to accommodate up to 20 people by connecting with seven additional suites.

Prices for the initial sailings range from around $20,000 for the smallest cabins to just under $200,000 for the Funnel Suite.

Aerial view of stern's long swimming pool, with lounge chairs

The stern pool will be one of the longest in the industry at 65 feet by 18 feet.

The yacht will have 11 dining venues, spa and wellness offerings, a water sports deck, and a large pool (65 feet long and 18 feet wide).

The interior was designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden to reflect the same atmosphere guests experience at a Four Seasons hotel or resort, said Fredrik Johannson, partner and executive director of Tillberg Design.

Pricing is also more like that of a hotel than a traditional cruise ship, with rates based on the cabin, not the number of people in it. And unlike most cruises, rates do not include lunch or dinner, except for children under 12. Nor do they include cocktails, wine, and excursions.

And, of course, the new yacht product will boast Four Seasons’ renowned service standards, with a one-to-one staff to guest ratio.

The company said it will release more details and new itineraries in the coming months. Additionally, it expects to launch a second yacht at the end of 2026.

Why were so many metro stations in Moscow renamed?

Okhotny Ryad station in Soviet times and today.

Okhotny Ryad station in Soviet times and today.

The Moscow metro system has 275 stations, and 28 of them have been renamed at some point or other—and several times in some cases. Most of these are the oldest stations, which opened in 1935.

The politics of place names

The first station to change its name was Ulitsa Kominterna (Comintern Street). The Comintern was an international communist organization that ceased to exist in 1943, and after the war Moscow authorities decided to call the street named after it something else. In 1946, the station was renamed Kalininskaya. Then for several days in 1990, the station was called Vozdvizhenka, before eventually settling on Aleksandrovsky Sad, which is what it is called today.

The banner on the entraince reads:

The banner on the entraince reads: "Kalininskaya station." Now it's Alexandrovsky Sad.

Until 1957, Kropotkinskaya station was called Dvorets Sovetov ( Palace of Soviets ). There were plans to build a monumental Stalinist high-rise on the site of the nearby Cathedral of Christ the Saviour , which had been demolished. However, the project never got off the ground, and after Stalin's death the station was named after Kropotkinskaya Street, which passes above it.

Of course, politics was the main reason for changing station names. Initially, the Moscow Metro itself was named after Lazar Kaganovich, Joseph Stalin’s right-hand man. Kaganovich supervised the construction of the first metro line and was in charge of drawing up a master plan for reconstructing Moscow as the "capital of the proletariat."

In 1955, under Nikita Khrushchev's rule and during the denunciation of Stalin's personality cult, the Moscow Metro was named in honor of Vladimir Lenin.

New Metro stations that have been opened since the collapse of the Soviet Union simply say "Moscow Metro," although the metro's affiliation with Vladimir Lenin has never officially been dropped.

Zyablikovo station. On the entrance, there are no more signs that the metro is named after Lenin.

Stations that bore the names of Stalin's associates were also renamed under Khrushchev. Additionally, some stations were named after a neighborhood or street and if these underwent name changes, the stations themselves had to be renamed as well.

Until 1961 the Moscow Metro had a Stalinskaya station that was adorned by a five-meter statue of the supreme leader. It is now called Semyonovskaya station.

Left: Stalinskaya station. Right: Now it's Semyonovskaya.

Left: Stalinskaya station. Right: Now it's Semyonovskaya.

The biggest wholesale renaming of stations took place in 1990, when Moscow’s government decided to get rid of Soviet names. Overnight, 11 metro stations named after revolutionaries were given new names. Shcherbakovskaya became Alekseyevskaya, Gorkovskaya became Tverskaya, Ploshchad Nogina became Kitay-Gorod and Kirovskaya turned into Chistye Prudy. This seriously confused passengers, to put it mildly, and some older Muscovites still call Lubyanka station Dzerzhinskaya for old times' sake.

At the same time, certain stations have held onto their Soviet names. Marksistskaya and Kropotkinskaya, for instance, although there were plans to rename them too at one point.

"I still sometimes mix up Teatralnaya and Tverskaya stations,” one Moscow resident recalls .

“Both have been renamed and both start with a ‘T.’ Vykhino still grates on the ear and, when in 1991 on the last day of my final year at school, we went to Kitay-Gorod to go on the river cruise boats, my classmates couldn’t believe that a station with that name existed."

The city government submitted a station name change for public discussion for the first time in 2015. The station in question was Voykovskaya, whose name derives from the revolutionary figure Pyotr Voykov. In the end, city residents voted against the name change, evidently not out of any affection for Voykov personally, but mainly because that was the name they were used to.

What stations changed their name most frequently?

Some stations have changed names three times. Apart from the above-mentioned Aleksandrovsky Sad (Ulitsa Kominterna->Kalininskaya->Vozdvizhenka->Aleksandrovsky Sad), a similar fate befell Partizanskaya station in the east of Moscow. Opened in 1944, it initially bore the ridiculously long name Izmaylovsky PKiO im. Stalina (Izmaylovsky Park of Culture and Rest Named After Stalin). In 1947, the station was renamed and simplified for convenience to Izmaylovskaya. Then in 1963 it was renamed yet again—this time to Izmaylovsky Park, having "donated" its previous name to the next station on the line. And in 2005 it was rechristened Partizanskaya to mark the 60th anniversary of victory in World War II.

Partizanskaya metro station, nowadays.

Another interesting story involves Alekseyevskaya metro station. This name was originally proposed for the station, which opened in 1958, since a village with this name had been located here. It was then decided to call the station Shcherbakovskaya in honor of Aleksandr Shcherbakov, a politician who had been an associate of Stalin. Nikita Khrushchev had strained relations with Shcherbakov, however, and when he got word of it literally a few days before the station opening the builders had to hastily change all the signs. It ended up with the concise and politically correct name of Mir (Peace).

The name Shcherbakovskaya was restored in 1966 after Khrushchev's fall from power. It then became Alekseyevskaya in 1990.

But the station that holds the record for the most name changes is Okhotny Ryad, which opened in 1935 on the site of a cluster of market shops. When the metro system was renamed in honor of Lenin in 1955, this station was renamed after Kaganovich by way of compensation. The name lasted just two years though because in 1957 Kaganovich fell out of favor with Khrushchev, and the previous name was returned. But in 1961 it was rechristened yet again, this time in honor of Prospekt Marksa, which had just been built nearby.

In 1990, two historical street names—Teatralny Proyezd and Mokhovaya Street—were revived to replace Prospekt Marksa, and the station once again became Okhotny Ryad.

NEW YORK (AP) — The theft of sensitive information belonging to millions of AT&T’s current and former customers has been recently discovered online, the telecommunications giant said this weekend.

In a Saturday announcement addressing the data breach, AT&T said that a dataset found on the “dark web” contains information including some Social Security numbers and passcodes for about 7.6 million current account holders and 65.4 million former account holders.

Whether the data “originated from AT&T or one of its vendors” is still unknown, the Dallas-based company noted — adding that it had launched an investigation into the incident. AT&T has also begun notifying customers whose personal information was compromised.

Here’s what you need to know.

WHAT INFORMATION WAS COMPROMISED IN THIS BREACH?

Although varying by each customer and account, AT&T says that information involved in this breach included Social Security numbers and passcodes — which, unlike passwords, are numerical PINS that are typically four digits long.

FILE - An AT&T sign is seen at a store in Pittsburgh, Monday, Jan. 30, 2023. AT&T said, Saturday, March 30, 2024, it has begun notifying millions of customers about the theft of personal data recently discovered online. (AP Photo/Gene J. Puskar, File)

Full names, email addresses, mailing address, phone numbers, dates of birth and AT&T account numbers may have also been compromised. The impacted data is from 2019 or earlier and does not appear to include financial information or call history, the company said.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WAS AFFECTED?

Consumers impacted by this breach should be receiving an email or letter directly from AT&T about the incident. The email notices began going out on Saturday, an AT&T spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press.

WHAT ACTION HAS AT&T TAKEN?

Beyond these notifications, AT&T said that it had already reset the passcodes of current users. The company added that it would pay for credit monitoring services where applicable.

AT&T also said that it “launched a robust investigation” with internal and external cybersecurity experts to investigate the situation further.

HAS AT&T SEEN DATA BREACHES LIKE THIS BEFORE?

AT&T has seen several data breaches that range in size and impact over the years .

While the company says the data in this latest breach surfaced on a hacking forum nearly two weeks ago, it closely resembles a similar breach that surfaced in 2021 but which AT&T never acknowledged, cybersecurity researcher Troy Hunt told the AP Saturday.

“If they assess this and they made the wrong call on it, and we’ve had a course of years pass without them being able to notify impacted customers,” then it’s likely the company will soon face class action lawsuits, said Hunt, founder of an Australia-based website that warns people when their personal information has been exposed.

A spokesperson for AT&T declined to comment further when asked about these similarities Sunday.

HOW CAN I PROTECT MYSELF GOING FORWARD?

Avoiding data breaches entirely can be tricky in our ever-digitized world, but consumers can take some steps to help protect themselves going forward.

The basics include creating hard-to-guess passwords and using multifactor authentication when possible. If you receive a notice about a breach, it’s good idea to change your password and monitor account activity for any suspicious transactions. You’ll also want to visit a company’s official website for reliable contact information — as scammers sometimes try to take advantage of news like data breaches to gain your trust through look-alike phishing emails or phone calls.

In addition, the Federal Trade Commission notes that nationwide credit bureaus — such as Equifax, Experian and TransUnion — offer free credit freezes and fraud alerts that consumers can set up to help protect themselves from identity theft and other malicious activity.

AP Reporter Matt O’Brien contributed to this report from Providence, Rhode Island.

pershing 115 yacht

yachting/images/magazine/2005/122005/fea_pershing_525x350.jpg

It takes something very special to impress the jilted residents of the exclusive French town of St. Tropez. Years ago we brought this depot for the rich and famous to a standstill arriving with Virgin Atlantic Challenger II, but we had just set a record across the Atlantic. Sprinting into the port with the striking new, 40-knot Pershing 115 did not quite have the same impact, but this beautiful yacht did stop onlookers in their tracks as they stood and stared.

With the 115, Pershing joins a select band of boatbuilders who are going over the 100-foot mark, taking a quantum leap from the 88-foot former flagship design. This yacht has twice the volume of anything Pershing has ever built. Moreover I was on the first hull and for a prototype design they have done a really superb job of meeting their design and perfomance goals.

Pershing boss Till Antonelli is justifiably proud of the 115. “We knew there was a market out there for a larger Pershing and I think we took a bold step in making the jump straight from 88 to 115 feet. The result is there for all to see and it is a tribute to our new factory and the people who work there, Antonelli says.

The power behind this monster is a pair of 16 cylinder MTU diesels from the 4000 range that produce 3,700 hp each. These engines are huge and they seem to stretch forever along the engine compartment. They are coupled to ZF gearboxes and then the drive goes to KaMeWa water jets in what proved to be a very smooth power train. The water jets are unique in that the inlet ducts of the jets are an integral part of the hull molding which gives a better water flow to the impellers and improves their efficiency.

The two diesels have ample space between them and you see the reason for this when you look aft and see the molding in place for a third water jet. This gives the option to install a centerline TF50 gas turbine to bring the total power up to 13,000 hp. Now you are talking real excitement, and this installation is planned for the next unit that is already under construction. Look for speeds of over 55 knots from this second yacht, speeds that are squarely situated in the Pershing performance territory.

Access to the engine compartment is via a door in the cockpit which leads first to an auxiliary room with the switchboard, watermaker and air conditioning. Forward of this are the crew’s quarters and galley. Stairs lead up from the galley directly into the saloon, close by the dining table, and there is also a dumbwaiter for larger trays. The galley is fitted with all you need for sophisticated meal preparation and the styling, even in these working areas of the yacht, is a close match to the stunning guest areas.

Back aft, the swim platform that protects the water jets is bigger than the average sportsboat. Stairs lead up on both sides to the cockpit, and between them is the garage for the Zodiac tender together with its launching crane. You don’t need to skimp on the water toys on this yacht because there is a second garage that is revealed by raising part of the forward coach roof, housing two jet skis with another launching crane.

The 115 is full of more surprises and one of them comes from opening the door on the right of the saloon entrance. Here there is a stairway winding up to a very private sun deck sitting above the pilothouse. I was trying to determine why there was no sunroof on this yacht similar to those found on other Pershings-this sun deck was the reason. There is another, more public sunpad in the cockpit together with settees and a table, but the upper area is going to be everybody’s favorite.

The sliding saloon doors make an impressive entrance and walking into the saloon takes your breath away. There is none of the rich wood panelling so often found on superyachts, but here the designers have created a beautiful and light, almost minimalistic area with only the dining chairs and the blue leather locker fronts providing color. The settees are white leather, the woodwork a very pale gray-tinted ash, and the sides and overhead a very pale cream.

Quality is enhanced by integral modern artwork above the entrance door and on two of the side window pillars. The relaxing lounge area is aft and a dining table for 10 is forward in a open plan arrangement. Forward at the helm there are three imposing adjustable seats that create what looks like an altar to high performance.

The captain sits in the center chair, which is flanked by the engine and jet controls fitted into the armrests. Here he is master of all he surveys and he really can play tunes with the sensitive machinery controls. In front of him there are seven screens that provide all the information needed for high speed navigation and control, plus sophisticated monitoring systems. The latter have been specially developed by Pershing to control and monitor everything on board except the main engines. The engines have their own MTU dedicated displays and there is a separate display for monitoring the water jet. Large Simrad radar and chart displays provide a full picture of the navigation scene.

A couple of steps down from saloon level takes you into what is virtually a private cinema. Wide lounging settees and chairs face a big flat screen that can be fed from video, DVD or cable or satellite TV. This will be a popular evening relaxing area. Another stairway takes you to the staterooms where the layout is about the only conventional thing on this yacht: a master, a VIP and two twin cabins.

These are all decorated in a similar minimalistic style but with strong colors added through the leather bed bases, the mirror trims and the bright silk bed covers. The result is both modern and restful, with the spacious master stateroom occupying the full beam and featuring an angled bed and deep side windows to give natural light. The VIP stateroom in the bow is almost semi-circular in shape and large enough to have its own settee.

The heads have the same pale gray wood and modern fittings, including hemispherical glass basins. The soles here are wood but have metal strip inserts to give good grip when wet. The extravagant quality of the master stateroom can be seen in the fitting of his-and-her heads for the use of the owners.

The interior of this yacht may be stunning but it is the exterior styling that really sets the scene. The hull has the navy blue and silver combination that was pioneered by Pershing and has since been copied by many. This color scheme complements the series of rising curves that forms the superstructure and, like so much about this design, everything looks well integrated. The practical aspects of the design have been well thought out in most areas, but you only really appreciate the true quality of this yacht out on the water at speed.

We ran the 115 from Cannes to St.Tropez, which is a well-worn path for fast motoryachts. You appreciate one of the qualities of water jet drive with the very delicate maneuvering that is possible with this big yacht. Despite her size you can inch her forward or sideways delicately close to the dock, yet she will spin like a top when you need a quick response. It takes some skill and familiarity with the controls to get to this level of control but the effort is well worthwhile.

Out at sea the response is immediate and thrilling. The thrust from the jets powers the yacht onto plane and keeps it accelerating right up to its terminal velocity. The lack of vibration is impressive, and steering control is delicate and precise when you switch from the steerable joystick controls to the wheel steering. For trim adjustment, the 115 uses the latest interceptor system rather than trim tabs and these give an immediate response that reduces the adjustment period.

On our run down to St.Tropez we had a race with the TGV high-speed train along the coast. The train won that one, but there was no doubt we were fastest on the water that day. Pershing has found just the right balance in this yacht. This design has all the style you want to impress others, both inside and out, yet this is combined with very comfortable living on board. As for performance, 40 knots will meet most requirements but if you want to outrun everything on the water then you can always invest in the gas turbine option. Then maybe, you might even beat that train.
