Lil Yachty Reveals He's Quit Lean, Debuts New Haircut

Lil Yachty is someone who has been having a fantastic 2023. Overall, this is thanks to a plethora of dope singles and even an AOTY contender. Let's Start Here was Yachty's foray into the world of psych rock, and it was a great one at that. It is an album that had many praising Yachty for his immense artistry. Moreover, it is a project that gets better with each subsequent listen. Now, however, Yachty is gearing up for Drake's project For All The Dogs . He is likely featured on it, and he knows a lot about the album.

For All The Dogs will be coming out on September 22nd, and fans are very excited about it. There is a new single dropping this week which is going to act as a teaser of sorts. With all of that in mind, it seems as though Yachty is enacting some lifestyle changes right now. Firstly, he took to Instagram with a few snaps of him sporting a new haircut. In fact, it appears as though he is embracing the bald life. Furthermore, he has revealed that he quit Lean, which is a huge accomplishment.

"I did not stop drinkin lean for n****s to bully me and tell me i look like i have leukemia," Lil Yachty wrote. For those who may not know, Lean is one of those drugs that can make you gain a lot of weight, especially in your gut area. However, once you kick the stuff, you are able to lose weight rapidly. Sometimes, this leads to people thinking you are sick, then it is, in fact, the opposite. These comments are most certainly annoying for Yachty, however, he seems content with his life choices.

Musically, we hope to hear a lot more from the man very soon. He has been having an incredible resurgence, and the fans can't help but agree. Lil Yachty on Weight Loss and Haircut: 'I Did Not Stop Drinkin Lean For N***as to Bully Me and Tell Me I Look Like I Have Leukemia'

Yachty debuted a new look after he lost some weight and potentially cut his trademark braids.

Lil Yachty  is clearly not happy with certain comments he's received regarding his recent transformation.

On Monday, the 26-year-old took to his Twitter account with a post showing off a slimmer physique and new haircut. Yachty has maintained his braids throughout his career, but he appears to have cut them all off.  

"She like my haircut, it turn her on!!!" Yachty captioned his tweet. He shared the same photos on Instagram of his new look with a caption that read, "i chopped da top, fukk it."

It seems like Lil Boat didn't get the reaction he wanted, though, as he returned with a new tweet that called out people who had been  "bullying"  him over his new look. According to Yachty, he didn't sacrifice to get this new look just for people to clown him.

He also reposted some jokes about his cut on his IG Stories:

Several rappers have joined the anti-lean wave, such as Offset, who kicked the drug earlier this year. In an interview with  Variety , Set explained his family pushed him to stop drinking lean. 

"I put down lean. I was drinking my whole career. It opened my mind up, but I never thought it helped me create," he shared. "I feel like getting past that, cleaning up, and putting that message out."

The 31-year-old also praised wife Cardi B for sticking by his side as he went through the process of quitting lean.

"She always got my back, right or wrong," said the former Migos artist. "We both on the same mission to make each other better. We are a great team. We're a powerhouse at this point—icon status. We believe in God. We believe in family. We're going to keep winning."

Other rappers who have quit lean include  Moneybagg Yo , Sada Baby, and 600Breezy.

Lil Yachty recently revealed he quit drinking lean . On Monday (Sept. 11), Boat took to social media to show off his new look. The rapper appears slimmer in the recent photos, which showed him with a shaved head. “I chopped da top, f**k it,” he captioned the three pictures. “She like my haircut, it turn her on!!!” Although he removed his signature red hair years ago, the Georgia entertainer continuously kept his braids with beads. So, the haircut came as a surprise to his fans — who also commented on his new look.

During his response, the rapper also admitted that he changed his lifestyle and kicked lean . “I did not stop drinkin lean for ni**as to bully me and tell me I look like i have leukemia,” he jokingly shot back at his critics.

Moneybagg Yo recently opened up about his decision to stop drinking lean . In January 2022, the Memphis artist expressed he was quitting the drug and looking forward to a healthier life. 

“I use to think being sober would f**k with my creative process, I see dats just a mind thing cuz I been more active skin glowing and I been dropping nun but pressure,” he typed on Twitter, and included the hashtag “#NomoWockesha.” Wockesha has become popular slang for the addictive cocktail. Lean is famously crafted from prescription cough medicines that contain promethazine or codeine combined with soda and candy, usually a jolly rancher.

Lil Yachty Shows Off New Hair Style

Lil Yachty isn't waiting for the new year to show off his new self, taking to Instagram Live on Monday (Dec. 19) to show off a new hair style. As seen in the above video, Yachty has let his signature braids and beads go, his red locks still as colorful as ever.

"See this right here? The James Brown look, you know?," he says. "I’m working on my album. This look means seriousness. This hair do means hits. And to Funkmaster Flex this means a lot of mumble rap." Jay Z was known to miss the barber's seat whenever he was in album mode, Yachty likewise switching his style up.

In November, Yachty said of recording his debut album, “I have so many amazing songs that we never put out. But we’ve been on tour, and I keep trying to record on tour but I keep losing my voice. And it’s just hard for me to record, 100 percent. So once I get off tour on the 18th, we’re really just gonna lock in and just start completely fresh. So there’s no songs: we’re really just gonna make it in three or four weeks.”

As for his Funk Flex remarks, the Hot 97 DJ called Yachty out by name recently during an on-air screed against mumble rappers. Yachty responded via Twitter, writing, “If it ain’t one hot 97 dj it’s another lmao.” Earlier in the year, Yachty and Ebro had exchanged words over Yachty's rapping ability.

Lil Yachty’s never been afraid to rock the boat, bad pun intended. The buzzing rapper’s not waiting on January 1, 2017 to adopt the “new year, new me” mantra as he’s already decided to switch up his signature hairstyle, unveiled on Instagram Live late Monday night.

Gone are his signature beads and braids in exchange for a permed out look he chose to call “the James Brown look.” In the video, Lil Boat indicates he’s working on a new album and the look is just part of getting into the proper mode mentally. “I’m working on my album,” he said while munching on a corndog. “This look means seriousness. This hair do means hits. And to Funkmaster Flex this means a lot of mumble rap.”

The jab at Flex comes after the two spent the latter part of last week going back and forth over social media. Clearly, Funk Flex didn’t get the memo that Yachty’s unbothered by all the critique of his rap skills since he’s now a Grammy-nominated artist and landing big looks from the likes of Nautica , Sprite and Alexander Wang.

Naturally, social media’s response to Yachty’s new ‘do was a mixed bag, ranging from mild confusion to comical. Meanwhile, Yung Joc is somewhere flipping his hair and feeling himself for being a trendsetter at the sight of all this.

Lil Yachty may have taken the “Wock to Poland,” but his lean drinking days are apparently behind him. 

On Monday (September 11), the “Strike” hitmaker shared an update with his followers on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that he’s ditched the lean. However, not everybody is a fan of his healthy new look. In fact, since ditching the highly addictive substance, he’s been bullied over his appearance.  

“i did not stop drinkin lean for n##### to bully me and tell me i look like i have leukemia,” Lil Boat shared. 

Nonetheless, Lil Yachty still has his admirers. In a new post, he revealed a new haircut to go along with his post-lean look, revealing, “ I chopped da top. ” he shared the images on X writing, “she like my haircut, it turn her on!!!” 

Lil Yachty opened up about his lean addition on his viral 2022 hit “Poland,” The lyrics include him rapping about “fiending” for lean. “Wock” refers to Wockhardt, a pharmaceutical company that produces promethazine and codeine cough syrup.  

Meanwhile, in other Lil Yachty news, the Quality Control signee is set to begin his global tour in support of his latest album, Let’s Start Here .  

The Field Trip Tour kick offs Thursday, September 21 in Washington, DC at Echostage. Yatchy will perform at stops across North America before heading over to Europe, where he will visit cities including London, Oslo and Berlin. The tour concludes on Sunday, December 17 in Vienna, Austria at Gasometer. 

Last month, Lil Yachty and JID finally added two leaked songs to streaming platforms. The pair dropped “Van Gogh” and “Half Doin Dope,” under the group name Blakkboyz after the singles surfaced online. Watch the “Van Gogh” video below.

Incredible. As we said, people quickly took notice of the bumped-end hairstyle and started poking fun — all in good fun, of course! “I thought my auntie made a TikTok I almost choked,” one person commented on TikTok. “I THOUGHT THIS WAS SOMEBODY AUNTY,” said another. 

In an earlier TikTok video, Lil Yachty also shared that he had gotten a manicure and pedicure. He had separate designs for each of his fingers, and on his pedicurist painted the word “TOES” across his toenails. We’re not sure whether Lil Yachty will be starting a new trend, but we love that he went for it.

After Lil Yachty’s hairstyle became a meme, he took to Twitter to say that he was a little embarrassed that so many people had seen the video. “I ain’t gone lie my TikTok was never supposed to get out now that it’s been found I am embarrassed,” he wrote . Judging by his continuous grin and confident head-turns, it appears the rapper is rather pleased with his new look.

The other style is when he wears it higher and lets a couple of his braids stick out from the top of the bandana. He has tried beads with both of these styles as well.

If you are looking for Lil Yachty without braids, this style is the closest thing you will find. This is unlike any other Lil Yachty braids styles and he pulls it off really well.

To get this style, you only need to have two long braids. First, you have to create a partition straight down the middle. Then, you need two braids at the front. Both braids will start from the partition, go sideways, go halfway around your head and then fall at the back.

I would also keep my front hairline tidy and crisp for this style. The rest of that hair that’s not braided should be slick and close to the scalp.

This is a unique Lil Yachty hairstyle that he has come up with just by tying up his braids in a certain way. I can’t be entirely sure if he intentionally wanted to create a pigtail-inspired style. But, the style certainly looks like that.

You have to create a middle partition for this style as well. Then, you have to take all the braids from one side and tie them up on that side of your head. Do the same for the other side as well.

There will be a couple of loose braids at the front and the back of your head. Also, this style works better with beads because then it has more texture and character.

You have to attach beads to your braids for this style. Beads are necessary to create this distinct look. Also, make sure that there are 4-5 beads for each braid.

You have to create a middle partition to begin. Then, you have to create scalp braids that go sideways. Just like French braids, these braids will go from the partition to the opposite side of your head.

Finally, you have to take all your braids from one side and tie them together, kind of like the pigtail style. But, you have to tie them in a way so that only the beads are dangling from both sides.

This Lil Yachty braids style is really easy to get. Despite being a simple style, it actually is quite impactful and can give you an attractive look.

It is basically a top knot style where you take all of your hair and tie them right at the top of your head. But, you would not tie all your braids for this style.

Few braids need to be free. Lil Yachty styles it in a way that there are loose braids on the sides and the back. If you want, you can let a few of them fall from the front to your forehead.

This is the last Lil Yachty braids style on my list. This one includes beads as well. For this style, it’s better if you have thin braids and there are a lot of them.

The more braids you have, the better you will look. Also, the braids need to be longer. At the end of each braid, you will attach multiple beads and they will be of different colors.

You can just create a middle partition and let these colorful beads hang down from both sides. Feel free to choose any color you want.

Lil Yachty on Weight Loss and Haircut

( Complex ) – Lil Yachty  is clearly not happy with certain comments he’s received regarding his recent transformation.

On Monday, the 26-year-old took to his Twitter account with a post showing off a slimmer physique and new haircut. Yachty has maintained his braids throughout his career, but he appears to have cut them all off.  

“She like my haircut, it turn her on!!!” Yachty captioned his tweet. He shared the same photos  on Instagram  of his new look with a caption that read, “i chopped da top, fukk it.”

It seems like Lil Boat didn’t get the reaction he wanted, though, as he returned with a new tweet that called out people who had been  “bullying”  him over his new look. According to Yachty, he didn’t sacrifice to get this new look just for people to clown him. 

“I did not stop drinkin lean for n***as to bully me and tell me i look like i have leukemia,” he wrote.

Several rappers have joined the anti-lean wave, such as Offset, who kicked the drug earlier this year. In an interview with  Variety , Set explained his family pushed him to stop drinking lean. 

“I put down lean. I was drinking my whole career. It opened my mind up, but I never thought it helped me create,” he shared. “I feel like getting past that, cleaning up, and putting that message out.”

The 31-year-old also praised wife Cardi B for sticking by his side as he went through the process of quitting lean.

“She always got my back, right or wrong,” said the former Migos artist. “We both on the same mission to make each other better. We are a great team. We’re a powerhouse at this point—icon status. We believe in God. We believe in family. We’re going to keep winning.”

Other rappers who have quit lean include  Moneybagg Yo , Sada Baby, and 600Breezy.

When it grew back, he wore only braids – and then it grew longer and also black at the time. When he received a Mc Do job offer, his mother had his hair cut so that he’d look presentable. But when his mother saw how sad he was, she told him to dye it red – it is  red hair since Grade 11.

Start clean.

After dividing your hair into three even sections, cross the outer right strand of hair over the middle strand, then cross the left outer strand over the middle strand and repeat! You can do this in your sleep!

Secure and finish.

Secure the end of your braid with a hair elastic, and you’re done!

Drake, 21 Savage & Lil Yachty Roast YK Osiris' 'Certified Lover Boy' Haircut

As if Drake doesn’t already have a doppelganger — known to the Internet as “Fake Drake” — running around Miami performing his songs, he has to contend with other rappers biting his steez.

On Wednesday (November 5), YK Osiris took to Instagram to show off his new haircut, which features the same love heart design that has been the 6 God’s signature all throughout the Certified Lover Boy era.

“‘Certified lover thug,'” the 23-year-old native captioned his post along with two pregnant women emojis, a nod to Drake’s CLB album cover. Osiris also posted several Instagram Stories of his haircut, making sure fans get a good look at his new trim.

YK Osiris’ enthusiasm over his new ‘do wasn’t reciprocated, though, as the Florida native proceeded to get roasted from here to Jacksonville on social media.

Drake posted YK Osiris’ new haircut to his Instagram Story with the caption, “Burnt tf out. You really one of one,” along with several crying face emojis.

21 Savage joined in on the fun by joking, “Ain’t even a heart bra dats Mickey Mouse ears,” while Lil Yachty called him “Seltzer papi” — a play on Drake’s Instagram handle Champagne Papi — in the comments section of Akademiks ‘ Instagram post.

Despite getting flamed by his rap peers, YK Osiris didn’t appear to have any shame over his Drake-inspired hairdo.

“Y’all don’t get it,” he said in an Instagram Story following the reactions. “Just because I got a little sauce from the great, y’all n-ggas like, ‘Awww awww.’ But y’all n-ggas getting sauce from the wrong n-ggas.

“Y’all need to start looking at the great… and that’s Drake. That’s my n-gga … Hell yeah I’m bout to get a little sauce, a little sprinkle, put the cherry on top of that bitch.”

In a separate Instagram Story, Osiris revealed he paid $1500 for his CLB haircut.

This isn’t the first time YK Osiris has been the butt of Drake’s jokes. Earlier this year, the pair went head-to-head on the basketball court before going back-and-forth on social media.
