Day charters are an affordable way for you and your crew to rent a private yacht with Captain and Crew included. Also included in the price is local cruising fuel, cleaning fees, service fees & taxes, and even some gratuity on most charter listings. Most of our boats have a 13 guest max, not including the Captain and Crew.

Beer Can Island is a locally famous boating destination, smack dab in the middle of the bay. If you're renting a yacht from downtown Tampa or St. Petersburg, Beer Can Island is a perfect destination only requiring a 4 hour (half-day) rental. If you want to stay at the island longer, we also offer 6 hour and 8 hour trips. The water may not be crystal clear, but this is the most popular party spot for boats for a reason. Hundreds of boats and yachts gather here every weekend for shenanigans and debauchery.

Boat rentals and yacht charters to Egmont Key

Egmont Key is a popular boating destination with beautifully clear / turquoise water. Egmont Key is located south of St. Pete, so if your boat or yacht is departing from Tampa Bay, you'll need to book a minimum of a 6 hour charter, or save money with the discounted full-day yacht charter options. 

Boat rentals and yacht charters to Johns Pass Sandbar

Johns Pass is located a bit further south and is a great local meet up location for boaters. If you've chartered a boat or yacht from downtown Tampa, you'll want to be sure to book a 6 hour rental or 8 hour rental to ensure you have enough time to get there. Johns Pass is a really fun local sandbar where boaters party 7 days a week. Mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Weather in Tampa Bay

Always keep in mind the weather when planning your yacht rental experience. Tampa Bay is an ideal location for a yacht charter, either while on vacation or “staycation” because of the wonderful weather patterns. With winters ranging in the 70°s and summers in the 90's, there's no wrong time to visit. While it may rain frequently in Tampa Bay, the storms are almost always scattered and very short in duration, often times only lasting a few minutes and then the sun is shining again. If you're traveling to Tampa Bay in the cooler months of the year, be sure to pack some layers to wear while on your boating trip, especially if you plan to go yachting in the evening. If you're traveling during the summer months, remember to stay hydrated and take some extra precautions when it comes to sun care.

When planning to rent a yacht in Tampa Bay, your Captain will keep an eye on the weather patterns. The Captain will warn you of any weather that could cause your yacht charter to be canceled, rescheduled, or departure time pushed back. Safety is always our top priority.

Important Notes

Parties of 7 or more will be utilizing our bare boat contract. The renter under a bare boat agreement assumes full responsibility for the boat, the equipment, the passengers, and has the right to decide who drives/captains the boat for the day. The renter can choose their own captain, or ask Salt Luxury Charters to assign one for them. If choosing your own captain, we will require that they are knowledgeable of the local waterways, have CPR and first aid valid training with certificate, and are a part of a drug consortium. The charterer may also dismiss the crew at anytime. The charterer is also responsible for bringing the boat and it's equipment back in good, working order. 

If weather and/or wind is undesirable on the day of your tour, we will reschedule or provide a full refund.

You will board Star Sapphire and our crew will welcome you with a complimentary champagne toast. We will leave the dock and take you for a tour around Tampa Bay in the inter-coastal waterways. This is a very scenic route with the perfect mix of nature and stunning waterfront architecture.

When you choose the 8 or 7 hour trips, we will take you to Pine Key Island. This island is only accessible by boat. It is truly one of the most unique islands in Florida that is enjoyed EXCLUSIVELY by boaters. A beautiful white sand beach and lush greenery provide the perfect backdrop for this tropical destination.

Guests enjoy swimming, relaxing, and socializing with friends on the island and kids of all ages love the huge waterslide (weekends only)! They have two routes – River Route and Island Route – with a total of 14 stops. Stops include Tampa’s Riverwalk, Sparkman Wharf/ Channel District, Harbour Island, Davis Islands, Armature Works , Ricks on the River, and the Florida Aquarium. Guests can transfer between routes at stop seven at the Convention Center.

The Pirate Water Taxi even offers happy hour beer specials Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on their River Route boats.

Though you may be tempted to take your dog with you, only service animals are allowed onboard.

Purchase a pass that allows unlimited hop on and off at various spots in Tampa all day for $34.00. You can purchase tickets onboard at any one of their route stops or save $2 by booking on their website .

St. Pete Museum of History Offering New, Historic Boat & Trolley Tours

The St. Petersburg Museum of History has partnered with Tampa Bay Watch to offer the city's only historic boat tour. They've also partnered with Star Trolley to offer a variety of historic trolley tours in and around St. Pete.

Residents balk at plans for Anclote River Park development

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — More than 100 people packed a town hall meeting on planned changes for Pasco County's Anclote River Park Monday night.

The big concern centered on a possible restaurant being built along the waterfront. Officials say there are no immediate plans for that, but residents say they're still concerned.

Plans for development at anclote river park dropped concerns about what the project means for the future of a native american burial mound redesigned plans have not been announced.

Commissioner Kathryn Starkey says that the county found out last month that the restaurant owner who had been interested in building a 22,000-square-foot restaurant in the park agreed to a mutual termination of lease for that land.

She says there is still space included in the park's redesign plan for a 3,000-square-foot restaurant sometime in the future.

And that's something residents said is concerning.

Michelle Ravenscroft has lived in Pasco County her whole life. She was among those who packed into Monday night’s town hall meeting in part because she doesn't want to see a restaurant built in Anclote River park.

"I don't feel reassured, and I feel like they're going to do whatever they want to do," Ravenscroft said. "I've seen so many places get torn down, and I feel like they're building for, like I said in there, they're not building for public need. They're building for public desire. We don't need another restaurant taking up more spaces. We need more green spaces."

Officials say part of the goal of tonight's meeting was to clear up misconceptions about the park's redesign.

"I feel like when you meet people, their initial thought was that we were going to mass grade the entire site from line to line,” said Keith Wiley, Pasco County Parks, Rec, & Natural Resources director. “Honestly, from my background coming from the natural resources field, I was shocked."

Officials say the project will add much-needed boat access, as well as replacing pavilions and beach improvements.

"We're actually going to add some more trees back to the park, because it used to have a wonderful oak canopy, and a lot of that was taken out the last remodel,” said Starkey.

But residents told them they're concerned about what the project means for the future of a native American burial mound and Spanish Well on site, as well as wildlife.

Leaders told them steps will be taken to protect the environment and those spots of historic and cultural significance, features Ravenscroft said contributes to people's passionate response to possible changes to the park.

Plans for the redesign have not been finalized. 

Wiley says officials recently wrapped up the 30% preliminary site plan. The county and state agencies will have to review it.

And while Ravenscroft says the hope is that the county will get comments on the plan before next year, it could be 18 to 24 months before they get an actual permit.

"There is a cultural significance there with the Indian mounds," Ravenscroft said. “And they just don't want to see something else torn away from something that they love.”
