From all the must-see superyachts to the best places to party after the show, get the complete insider’s guide to the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 .

Running from 28 September to 1 October, the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 will be attracting a fleet of superyachts and thousands of attendees to the Côte d'Azur for the 31st edition of the prestigious boat show.

For four days, Port Hercules will be a hive of activity as thousands of prospective clients and industry players descend on the French Riviera to explore what’s on display on the water and along the stands. Hundreds of exhibitors will be showing off their products and services, with top shipyards , brokerage houses and marine and luxury lifestyle stalls in attendance, along with brand-new areas being unveiled at this year's show.

What’s in store at this year’s show?

This year the show will unveil its brand-new Adventure Area and Sustainability Hub, alongside its popular Design & Innovation Hub and dockside areas committed to the exhibition of superyachts and tenders.

Sustainability Hub

With a renewed focus on sustainability and environmental protection initiatives, the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 will be unveiling its brand new exhibition space dedicated to the research and development of sustainable solutions in yachting.

The Sustainability Hub will also host a variety of exhibitions relating to green renewable solutions and pro-environmental projects in yachting.

Yacht Design and Innovation Hub

Complementing the Sustainability Area will be the popular Yacht Design and Innovation Hub, where the world’s most renowned yacht designers convene to showcase their latest projects, with various presentations on design and eco-responsible projects in yachting taking place in a conference room upstairs (free access). This year, the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub also welcomes the historic exhibitors of the Designer Gallery along the Louis Chiron bend of Port Hercules.

Adventure Area

Another new zone for 2022, visitors to the Adventure Area will find a huge array of tenders, all-terrain vehicles, nautical gadgets and equipment. These will be showcased in conjunction with a wide range of activities and services targeting the up-coming generation of superyacht clientele in response to the increase in demand by discerning yacht travellers seeking ever-more thrilling adventures and unique yachting experiences.

Dockside Area

The new Adventure Area will be located within the Dockside Area, home to the afloat exhibition of motor yachts and tenders on the Quai Antoine 1er, Port Hercule.

Please note that the Dockside area is only accessible to Discover, Sapphire and press passes on Wednesday September 28, with access to the general public from Thursday onwards.

Sailing Yacht Area

As in previous years, this area will be situated along the Quai l’Hirondelle, where visitors will be able to step aboard some of the most innovative and technologically advanced sailing yachts in the world, as well as meeting some of the esteemed builders and designers who help to create the magic.

Sapphire Experience

Introduced for the first time last year, the Sapphire Experience is a bespoke tour program for visitors interested in renting or buying a yacht, with a concierge team dedicated to creating a bespoke program of events tailored to take advantage of all there is to experience at the show in true VIP fashion; including scheduled visits on board yachts, attendance at gala evenings or private cocktails on board various luxury vessels. There is also an official Sapphire tender and courtesy car service.

In addition, there are dedicated VIP entrances and lounges for convenience and relaxation throughout the show.

How to get around the Monaco Yacht Show 2022

The show takes place entirely in Port Hercules, but there will also be a number of yachts available for viewing at anchor outside the port. A water taxi is available throughout the show, with seven pick-up and drop-off points conveniently located across the marina.

The official opening times for the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show are: 10.30am-6.30pm every day, except on Saturday when the doors open at 10am and close at 6pm.

What is the official MYS 2022 superyacht lineup?

Currently, with over 130 yachts set to attend this year’s show, including 74 yachts making their debuts in Monaco, the show promises plenty of standout vessels available to view.

One of the most exciting new yachts will be Lurssen’s 115m/378ft motor yacht AHPO . A recent addition to the charter fleet, she will be drawing in plenty of attention with her Nuvolari Lenard exterior styling and palatial interiors.

On the same dock, Golden Yacht’s latest offering in the shape of 88m (289ft) superyacht Project X will also be causing a buzz. Freshly delivered, show-goers shouldn’t miss the opportunity to step on board to admire her beautiful Massari-designed interiors, as well as her 7.5-meter by 3-meter glass-enclosed swimming pool on her aft main deck and vast beach club featuring comfortable lounging area and bar, alongside a wellness suite with Hammam and Finnish Sauna.

Another star of the show will be the 85m (279ft) luxury explorer yacht VICTORIOUS , who wowed visitors last year with her distinctive sleek lines culminating in a 2-meter bowsprit and impressive array of charter-rich features and family-friendly amenities, not to mention the luxury Rolls Royce perched on her helideck bow!

The 75m (247ft) superyacht KENSHÕ will also be making waves for those keen to experience her zen-calm interiors up-close. Launched earlier this year, the innovative vessel redefines the concept of space and layout, providing guests with the ultimate luxurious platform to relax, entertain and socialize onboard.

Where to eat at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022

In Port Hercules, there are a variety of options available for snacks and refreshments, including the Upper Deck Lounge bar & restaurant run by the renowned Fairmont Monte-Carlo, as well as the Sapphire Lounge – a VIP bar and dining experience open exclusively to Sapphire badge holders – both located near the Parvis Piscine entrance.

Monaco itself has no shortage of restaurants to suit every occasion and palate during the show. For something more casual, Rue Princesse Caroline is lined with different restaurants that are well-suited to a light bite.

In the evenings, COYA Monte Carlo is where the in-crowd head for Latin-American fusion and a warm reception. The cocktail menu is expansive, so be sure to try one of their specialties and soak up the buzzy vibes as the evening wears on.

If it’s a sophisticated meal you’re after, Nobu is the ultimate choice. Expect a luxurious backdrop, a refined Japanese menu and a sensational taste experience among fellow show-goers.

Where to party after the Monaco Yacht Show 2022

As ever, Buddha-Bar will be one of the most popular venues for post-show partying in Monaco. The restaurant-bar crossover is a regular stop-off for those looking to dine and dance to the soundtrack of live DJ sets.

Twiga has a similar vibe, with a stellar menu coupled with an unrivalled club scene later in the evenings. Expect Methusalems of champagne topped with sparklers, dazzling entertainment and a no-holds-barred party vibe.

Twiga will be hosting plenty of Monaco Yacht Show-themed parties over the course of the show, so you’d be remiss not to pay the venue a visit, even if it’s just for a cocktail on the terrace.

For a true taste of French Riviera party life, look no further than Jimmy’z. This iconic club will be in full swing over the course of the Monaco Yacht Show, and will be amping up the entertainment with live performances from dance troupes and deck-spinning DJs.

Where to relax after the Monaco Yacht Show 2022

After the show, take the time to unwind and soak up the last of the Mediterranean sun.

Nikki Beach Monte Carlo is still going strong on the roof of the Fairmont Hotel, and offers poolside lounging and a summery soundtrack throughout the day, offset by spectacular views over Port Hercules and the yachts at anchor opposite the marina.

A little outside Monaco in the small town of Eze lies one of the best-kept secrets in the South of France. Anjuna Plage occupies a thin sliver of beach, and boasts a premier restaurant, boutique shop and a laid-back vibe that makes it a fan favourite. Best accessed by yacht, it also has a roster of A-list clientele.

Where to visit after the Monaco Yacht Show 2022

The French Riviera is one of the most beautiful regions in the Mediterranean and has no end of things to see and do. In Monaco, visitors can explore the decadent Monte Carlo casino, browse the Private Collection of Antique Cars of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III or admire the incredible selection of marine life at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.

Afterwards, stop by neighbouring Menton to visit Mirazur, a restaurant that was named the Best in the World for 2019.  Then, pay a visit to the Val Rahmen Exotic Gardens for an afternoon of botanical bliss.

monaco yacht show facts

Head over to Nice for a day of sightseeing and walking the cobbled streets of the city, taking the time to explore the famous Matisse Museum and the pink palace of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild.

Those looking to travel even further afield can stop by the spa at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes or take a boat ride out to the Lérins Islands  outside the bay of Cannes , where you will find the famous Abbey and the superyacht hotspot of La Guerite, a beach club and restaurant on the island.

Monaco Yacht Show

The Monaco Yacht Show returns this year for its 32nd edition with a stellar lineup of yachts. The newly refitted 319-foot Carinthia VII and the head-turning 312-foot Kismet are two of the largest yachts confirmed to attend, while this year’s debuts include a dozen-plus new launches that may not be as large as some of the brokerage and charter gigayachts at the show but are still an impressive group in terms of design.

The newbies also seem to be broken out into distinctive colors this year, with the 262-foot scarlet-red Leona being the largest launch at the show, while the 174-foot Jewels , with its sky-blue hull will also stand out. Damen’s Bad Company Support has neon-pink lettering on the side, while Anjelif has a gold exterior, and Grey has a black superstructure and light-gray hull.

The Monaco event is the biggest yachting show to take place throughout Europe and the marquis event in the superyacht world. The organizers have been working hard to promote environmental innovations and educational trends taking place within yachting. The show will have design and innovation hubs, sustainability hub, and an adventure area. Of course, the big stars will be the fleet of 120 superyachts in Port Hercules.

Here are the 10 launches that we will definitely be visiting at the show.

‘Leona’ | Bilgin Yachts

monaco yacht show facts

The 262-foot Leona is Bilgin Yachts’s largest delivery to date. Even amid the glamour of Port Hercules, the full custom yacht will be hard to miss, thanks to a bright-scarlet hull that has earned the yacht the nickname “the Red Bullet.” The exterior is designed by Unique Yacht Design, and the interior is by H2 Yacht Design. The largest yacht to debut in Monaco this year, Leona is part of the Bilgin 263 series. It has the same lifting transom and large beach club pool as its sistership Tatiana . Another wow-factor feature includes a pair of Greek statues covered in fiber optics that give the impression of a star-studded night sky.

‘Alchemy’ | Rossinavi

monaco yacht show facts

With a design that was developed entirely over Zoom, Rossinavi’s tri-deck 216-foot Alchemy was built for an owner with a penchant for space. The result is more than 3,500 square feet of deck space, which holds large outdoor dining areas mated with dedicated bronzing and socializing areas and an on-deck Jacuzzi. The design employs Philippe Briand’s signature Vitruvius hull, while the contemporary interior was by Enrico Gobbi’s Team for Design.

‘Anjelif’ | Columbus Yachts

monaco yacht show facts

The 164-foot Anjelif is defined by its many technical innovations, including hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, an onboard sanitization system for the elimination of airborne viruses, and a touch-and-go helipad at the bow that converts into an open-air cinema. The all-aluminum, four-deck yacht delivered by Italian shipyard Columbus Yachts also boasts a gold exterior by Marco Casali of Too Design. The Italian studio used natural and sustainable materials to define the interior. Amenities include a gym on the main deck, a sauna, and treatment rooms.

‘Jewels’ | Turquoise Yachts

monaco yacht show facts

Turquoise Yachts’s 174-foot Jewels , with its sky-blue hull, will no doubt to turn heads wherever it ventures. The exterior design is the result of a first-time collaboration between the Turkish builder and Miami-based DeBasto Design. The interior is by British studio H2 Yacht Design to accommodates 12 guests. The boat, which has 720 gross tonnes of volume, boasts a large sundeck with spa pool, sunpads, bar, and socializing area.

‘Grey’ | Tankoa

monaco yacht show facts

Sporting a jet-black superstructure and light-gray hull, the aptly named Grey by Tankoa Yachts enjoys the same Paszkowski-designed profile as its sisterships Kinda and Olokun . But it’s the large glass-sided pool on the foredeck, paired with an outdoor cinema screen and integrated surround-sound speakers, that grab all the attention. A fold-down transom with extended swim platform, a beach club with side sea terraces, and a large sun deck with a second pool complete the 164-foot superyacht package.

‘X-Space’ | Sanlorenzo

monaco yacht show facts

X-Space by Sanlorenzo takes the use of onboard glass to a new level. Full-height windows, sliding-glass panes and “glass walls” in the guest cabins fill the interior with natural light. One of the yacht’s five decks is dedicated entirely to the owner, comprising multiple living areas, an office, and large master suite leading directly onto a private terrace at the bow. The exterior features include a 323-square-foot sunbathing deck and a swimming pool. Designed by Zuccon International Project, the 144-foot yacht is one of the Italian yard’s most anticipated launches to date.

‘Fancy’ | Nautor’s Swan

monaco yacht show facts

As the first hull in Nautor’s Swan’s 108 series, the 115-foot Fancy is one of a handful of sailing yachts making its world premiere at Monaco this year. Described by the shipyard as “the first in a new generation of Maxi Swans,” and sitting neatly between its Swan 98 and Swan 120 flagship, it mates a carbon hull with a sweeping and uncluttered resin-infused deck. The exterior design is by Micheletti + Partners, with naval architecture by German Frers.

‘Ace’ | Conrad

monaco yacht show facts

The 145-foot yacht Ace built by Conrad Shipyard is the largest superyacht to come out of Poland. Its Reymond Langton exterior is defined by a “rolling wave” superstructure and an 82-foot sundeck with cinema screen and recessed infinity pool. Commissioned by a Swiss owner who requested an interior with an “Italian soul,” the full-custom boat sleeps 10 guests in five suites, with accommodations for a crew of nine. It marks the first hull in the Polish shipyard’s C144S series.

‘ArtExplorer’ | Perini Navi

monaco yacht show facts

When Robb Report reported on Frédéric Jousset’s idea for a floating gallery in 2021 , the art enthusiast’s vision was still a dream. Now it’s a 154-foot reality called ArtExplorer , debuting at Monaco this year. Built by Perini Navi to a design by naval architects Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, it is the largest aluminum sailing catamaran in the world. Following the museum boat’s premiere at Monaco, it will sail the world, hosting immersive art exhibitions curated in collaboration with the Louvre Museum in Jousset’s bid to “democratize the arts.”

‘Bad Company Support’ | Damen

monaco yacht show facts

The 175-foot Bad Company Support is the first hull in Damen Yachting’s YS53 support vessel series. Commissioned by American tech entrepreneur Anthony Hsieh, the support vessel will be the largest boat in the serial yachtsman’s 10-strong fleet of vessels used for sportfishing expeditions and marine conservation. It’s also his first new build. Sporting an attention-grabbing neon pink name on its side, the support vessel has a 5,000 nautical mile range, a 15-ton deck crane, and IMO Tier III-compliant engines.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2023: A Round Up of the Top Stories

By Frances Flannagan

After a truly spectacular edition of the Monaco Yacht Show this year, we take a look at some of the top news stories from the event. From new launches, to concept designs, this year’s show featured a host of exciting industry updates.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2023 undoubtedly saw a range of exciting updates for the industry; we take a look at six of the top news that was unveiled during the show. We delve into the announcement of the launch of the first Amels 80, the unveiling of two concept designs from Feadship and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the reveal of Benetti's 85m project and Rossinavi’s 66m diesel electric ALCHEMY, as well as taking a look at Lürssen's 97m CARINTHIA VII following her 10-month refit.

The First Amels 80 Launched

On schedule to be delivered in 2025, the first Amels 80’s new hull and superstructure were spotted outside of her build shed. Described by Sean Bianchi, Partner and Head of New Construction at Burgess, and Naval Architect, as a yacht which will ‘stand out amongst her peers and set the benchmark for future yachts’, her launch was highly exciting news announced by the shipyard on the first morning of the yacht show.

Designed by Espen Øino, Amels 80 features a holistic and modern exterior design, in keeping with the Amels DNA. She also features sustainable materials and innovative hybrid technology, a key factor of the next-generation Amels' design.

‘The Amels 80 is a design that will not age. Her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she is delivered. She is a big ship, full of features, with an impressive interior volume. She is everything and more that you would expect from an 80-metre yacht. There is a sense of scale, and nothing is wasted,’ commented Espen Øino.

Her interiors are custom-built, penned by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with a neutral and natural palette, allowing for the owner to add their own personal style. She can accommodate up to 14 guests, who can enjoy a 200 square metres sun deck, a waterside beach club which opens on three sides and a wellness area and spa, to name a few of the fantastic amenities on board.

Benetti’s Full-Custom Espen Øino-Designed 85m Project Announced

PROJECT LIFE, Benetti’s new full-custom 85m, is a welcome addition to the Italian yard’s megayacht fleet. Her exteriors have also been penned by Espen Øino, who has injected Benetti’s distinctive characteristics into PROJECT LIFE’s design: the capacity to invent new lifestyles, offering varied interpretations of this concept across the decks. All spaces onboard are designed with sociability in mind, for instance, the large revolving lounge that changes its focal point depending on the time of day.

Her interiors have been designed by Francois Zuretti, who has chosen a beautiful balance between the colours and the surrounding environment, with an expanded opening that allows natural light to enhance the spaces.

PROJECT LIFE is built with all the available technologies to help reduce consumption, including diesel-electric propulsion and integrated hybrid solar panels that collect solar and thermal energy to power appliances onboard.

A Look Inside Lürssen’s 97m CARINTHIA VII Following Refit

Following a 10-month refit by Lürssen at its Hamburg facilities, the results of CARINTHIA VII’s extensive refit were revealed at this year's Monaco Yacht Show, where she was presented to the charter market for the first time, represented by Fraser.

She was designed by Tim Heywood, regarded by many as one of the world’s first true mega yachts. Kept largely hidden from industry over the last 21 years, with her interior rarely seen, her introduction to the charter market has been eagerly awaited, as has the results of her refit.

Her new work includes redesigned exterior decks, new lounge and living areas and a new 12m/39’ pool and 90sqm air-conditioned gymnasium. Her interiors are sophisticated and elegant, with beautiful wooden flooring pervading the design and neutral beige and browns contrasted with cool-tone hues of blues and stunningly clean white stylings. She is a true masterpiece and an unmissable offering to the charter market.

DUNE takes a significant step towards Feadship’s goal of Net-Zero superyachts, combining features that reduce energy demand with technology that eliminates emissions and increases efficiency. Each individual element of the design assists in reducing environmental impact, for instance, shading windows to reduce cooling requirements, however, when implemented together, they slash a superyacht’s environmental impact dramatically.

Inspired by the aesthetics of sand dunes, this vessel reflects the onboard lifestyle that today’s owners desire, with flexible, multi-purpose spaces, endless views, and a combination of sociable open-plan areas with cosy, intimate spaces. She has an asymmetrical superstructure with almost no straight lines, meaning that spaces drift into one another, furthering the notion of flow throughout the yacht, and the heavy use of glass seamlessly blends the interiors with the surroundings.

Her design, along with all Feadship concepts, is a true joint effort between Feadship, Studio de Voogt and the yard's Knowledge and Innovation department. With a wealth of expertise and experience across all collaborators, the shipyard’s concept designs are able to be of the highest possible quality.

AWARE, The Essence of Luxury, Presented by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presented the 79.9m yacht concept AWARE at the Monaco Yacht Show, a ready-to-build, fully operational concept with a 1600 mm scale model. Her design combines proven technology with innovation and the use of the most precious and durable materials. At the forefront of this design is space optimisation, with an abundance of space on board, vast exterior decks and an unparalleled inside-outside connection,

AWARE has been described as the ‘Essence of Luxury’: a logical step in yacht design in which all space is optimised to give guests on board the best possible experience. Sander Sinot, Designer at the firm commented:

‘For the design of AWARE the focus is on maximising the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.’

With exceptional features to optimise the outside areas, including a beach club with a three-metre high ceiling, the interiors have similarly been designed to provide ultimate functionality and a spectacular inside-out experience. She is a tri-deck design with an open plan pavilion on the bridge deck, allowing for unrestricted views of the ocean on all sides.

Rossinavi’s 66m Diesel Electric Motor Yacht ALCHEMY

Unveiled at Port Hercules was Rossinavi’s 66m M/Y ALCHEMY, a fully custom design by Vitruvius Yachts with interior and exterior styling by Enrico Gobbi. She features diesel-electric propulsion, propelled by rods to reduce the loss of energy between the engines and navigation speed.

ALCHEMY is an elegant tri-deck design with a focus on the outdoor areas and wellness aspects of the yacht. With a spacious central corridor, the forward owner’s cabin offers a clear view of the sea, creating a sense of openness in the design alongside a strong connection to the surroundings. A special emphasis has been placed on ensuring comfort on board, in particular the minimisation of vibrations, meaning that every technical and material choice has been considered to reduce noise and vibrations.

The atmosphere throughout this vessel is calm and elegant, with every single piece of furniture being bespoke. Enrico Gobbi commented:

‘Spa mood was the keyword for the interior design and exterior decor of this yacht; natural materials, soft colours, and essential shapes for the interiors. Soft indirect lights to 'wet' the simplicity of the forms, where the detail and construction quality had to emerge and characterize the space: 'detail makes the differences' this is the motto that we have followed more than ever in this project together with the owners.’

The 32nd edition of the Monaco Yacht Show was as spectacular as ever, we can only begin to imagine the wonders that the 2024 event will hold.

MY EXPERIENCE AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW

MSc in Sustainability and Innovation Management

Magnus A. Frohmann, Danish, and Alain de Ruiter, Dutch, both students in the MSc in Sustainability and Innovation Management program, attended the Monaco Yacht Show a few weeks ago.

The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) was not just an event; it was a voyage into the future of luxury yachting, and my attendance at MYS2023 was a journey that left an indelible mark on my perception of this industry that I previously knew relatively little about.

Sustainability and Cutting-edge Innovation

With its unwavering commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge innovation, MYS2023 has redefined the very essence of luxury in the yachting world .

One of the highlights of MYS2023 was the return and maturation of the Sustainability Hub—an exhibition area dedicated to showcasing companies specializing in sustainable technologies aimed at reducing the environmental impact of super-yachts . Located in the expansive main exhibition space, this hub served as an incubator for groundbreaking and eco-friendly solutions, one of which was an IUM startup!

Sustainability Hub

This year, the Sustainability Hub continued to bridge the gap between established companies offering tried-and-true sustainable alternatives and budding start-ups with their forward-thinking ideas . The selection process for participants was carried out in collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation , ensuring that only those with genuine and viable sustainable solutions graced the exhibition floor.

As I explored the Sustainability Hub, I couldn’t help but admire the collective dedication to a greener, more responsible future for the yachting industry.

Gaëlle Tallarida , Managing Director of the MYS, aptly emphasized the show’s commitment to sustainability, underlining how the Monaco Yacht Show has been a trailblazer in raising environmental awareness since its pioneering move to join the Carbon Neutral program in 2005 . I had the pleasure of talking to her after one of the many sustainability panel discussions that were a part of the show. The Sustainability Hub, now in its second year, stands as a testament to the show’s relentless pursuit of eco-friendly alternatives.

monaco yacht show facts

The Monaco Yacht Show’s partnership with Siemens Energy was, as the sponsor of the Sustainability Hub, an exciting development. This collaboration offered a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to engage with Siemens Energy and delve into the integration of sustainable energy sources and clean fuels into an exclusive Energy Management and Propulsion System designed for electric and hybrid yachts. It’s an initiative aimed at not just reducing but actively controlling emissions—a bold step towards a responsible and environmentally friendly approach throughout the yachting industry.

Networking Opportunities

Networking opportunities at MYS2023 were as enriching as they were abundant. Engaging with exhibitors, partners, and fellow attendees allowed me to delve deeper into the sustainability initiatives within the yachting industry . Collaborations, discussions, and shared insights with industry leaders left an indelible mark on my perspective.

I got to meet not only amazing individuals (some of whom are IUM alumni) but also learned an immense amount about the target group of the MYS and its high-end luxury clientele.

A Knowledgeable Experience

In conclusion, my experience at the Monaco Yacht Show was not just a testament to luxury but a testament to the industry’s commitment to sustainability . MYS2023 showcased advanced design, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology. It reaffirmed that in an industry as opulent as yachting, embracing sustainability is not just a choice but a collective responsibility—a responsibility that I believe will shape the future of luxury in the yachting world.

The Monaco Yacht Show is a voyage into the future, where innovation, luxury, and sustainability converge . It has left an indelible mark on my journey as a student of Sustainability and Innovation Management, reminding me that the future of luxury lies in the hands of those who are committed to treading a sustainable path.

I am immensely grateful to have been granted access to this show and see it as a huge privilege as one of two ambassadors of the MSc in Sustainability and Innovation Management, which many professionals showed immense interest in.

Time for a bigger boat? Check out what the Palm Beach International Boat Show has to offer

monaco yacht show facts

Whether you're the son of a son of a sailor or even just love that song and want to know more, the granddaddy of all boating events is happening this weekend along the West Palm Beach waterfront.

That's right, the Palm Beach International Boat Show is back for four glorious days along Flagler Drive.

This will be the 42nd annual event, and organizers promise it will be bigger and better than ever.

There will be $1.2 billion worth of Bond-worthy super yachts, cruisers, sportfishing boats, center consoles and even inflatables to see and tour, along with attractions and activities highlighting the latest in boat engines, motors and accessories. There will also be the latest fishing gear and even fishing seminars.

Yes, it's a big event, but don't be intimidated. In fact, here are seven fun facts about the show:

How many boats can this boat show boast?

There will be more than 800 boats on display along the floating docks in the Intracoastal Waterway.

What is the biggest boat at the boat show?

With a length of 236 feet (and 38 feet wide), Casino Royale takes the title for largest boat this year. This gorgeous yacht, designed for her exterior lines by Francesco Paszkowski with interior by Paszkowski’s interior lead designer Margherita Casprini, is also one of the most technically advanced yachts in her category. Casino Royale is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516B main engines and has an impressive top speed of 17.5 knots. You can put your checkbooks away for this one, however, as she is only on display and not for sale.

This boat is the boat show's most epensive

Built in 2022 and 196-feet long, Come Together is listed for $59,950,000. This expedition yacht was delivered by the Dutch shipyard Amels and features interior styling by British designer Winch Design. It can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins along with 14 crew members.

Are spectators allowed to go on the boats?

To go onboard the yachts and superyachts, visitors must make an appointment with the brokers. For the smaller boats, however, spectators can come onboard if they are interested in buying.

What is the smallest boat?

The smallest boat being displayed on the water is a runabout boat that is 22-feet-6-inches long, and 5-feet-11 wide. It is manufactured by Hermes.

Eating inside the boat show

The show will have dozens of food concessions featuring almost anything you could be craving, from Greek gyros to woodfired picanha, authentic street tacos and hand-crafted burgers. On a seafood diet? Enjoy fresh stone crab claws, calamari, oysters, and much more! Vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free? No problem; they have options for you as well.

And libations at the boat show?

Of course there will be drinks. To be precise, there will be four bars for general admission guests, including two floating cocktail barges: the Goslings Island Bar and the Anheuser-Busch Barge. In addition there will be multiple bars in the Windward VIP Club.

What: Palm Beach International Boat Show

Monaco Yacht Show 2021: sailing further and further on

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

It is one of the most anticipated international events of luxury and super luxury yachting and nautical innovative equipment as well as interior design of the utmost quality. We missed its absence very much in 2020, due to the health emergency. We felt the lack of the extraordinary gathering of yachts that traditionally makes the waters of the harbour and the gulf of Monaco crowded with fancy vessels. Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) was back to Monaco from the 22 nd until the 25 th September 2021 in the evocative setting of Port Hercules .

A revised covid-free edition even more focused on the high-stand encounter between the supply and demand in order to test the soil of the Monegasque market after the optimistic results of Cannes Yachting Festival and Salone Nautico (Boat Show) in Genoa.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ The yachting industry’s grand return bears witness to a widely shared aspiration: to continue working together united by such an event ”, highlighted Gaëlle Tallarida , Managing Director at the Monaco Yacht Show – “ the exhibition has been shaped up to be outstanding, just like the collection of superyachts including a fleet on display with an average 54 meters in length and forty brand new launches ”, she added.

Therefore, visitors have been able to appreciate some interesting novelties like the awesome Sailing Yacht Area devoted to large vessels, and the new Yacht Design & Innovation Hub where to find out the latest efforts in terms of high-tech with a particular focus on sustainability.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ This world-class Show endorses the central role that the Principality plays in a business sector that combines prestige, love of the sea, sport and cutting-edge technologies ”, underlined H.E. Pierre Dartout , Minister of State of Monaco.

A parade of 125 Queens of the seas was on display, with an average yacht size of 50 meters up to 107 meters as the length of the largest yacht. All this for the pleasure of 30,000 international visitors arrived in Monaco specially for the 1000 meters of MYS outdoor spaces where to find more than forty vessels in preview presentation.   Among the stars, the 80-meter Tatiana (2021) superyacht by Bilgin Yachts (Turkey) equipped by a special zero-emission exhaust system with an outstanding interior design. The charming 49.5-meter K2 (2021) by Columbus Yachts ( Palumbo Superyachts Group ), visited by HelloMonaco, made her debut in world premiere while the elegant and classic 61.60-meter Cloud9 by Sanlorenzo (Italy) struck for its tailored harmonic forms. Victorious (2021, 85 meters) by Burgess (Global Leader) gave space to the best on-board facilities and amenities. Bold (2019, 85.30 meters) by Silveryachts (Australia) represented the future quintessence of high performance, energy efficiency and flexibility like Artefact (2020, 80 meters) by Nobiskrug (Germany), 100% hybrid superyacht that was truly a leap into the future with a striking external and internal design, one of a kind.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ I embrace the tight-knit relationship between Monaco Yacht Show, my Government and the yachting industry, all of which worked hand in hand to welcome the international yachting community to Monaco ”, pointed out H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco stressing the importance of the Principality as yachting capital – “ I would like also to congratulate   Monaco Yacht Show for its commitment towards the environment, with the support of my Foundation which celebrated the 15 th anniversary this year with the 5 th Monte Carlo Gala for Planetary Health held on Thursday 23 rd September ”.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

MYS Organizers, in fact, wishes to combine forces with Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2) to boost the Wood Forever Pact to fight against deforestation using sustainable forest management for nautical equipment. On the 24 th September, 50,000 euros were donated to FPA2 to support the cause.

But what about the mood to this edition? HelloMonaco collected some interesting feedbacks from representatives of the yachting industry attending Monaco Yacht Show 2021 . “ Despite the pandemic effect, the interest of shipowners for the purchase is very high compared to short-term concessions ”, outlined Virginia De Carlo , Marketing Director at the well-established Palumbo Superyachts (Ancona, Italy), conceiver of the brands ISA Yachts , Columbus Yachts , Mondo Marine and Extra – “ Charter-party agreements and sales are two different markets that are both enjoying a golden time. The quality of customers visiting the Monaco Yacht Show is made of people really interested to invest with clear ideas to realize; as exhibitors, we do appreciate this year management which has also planned a business-oriented day to start the Show with a selected audience prone to visit as many vessels as possible to get an idea of the offer before making the decision. The trend is now to design larger vessels for the luxury compartment”, she added.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

The charm of the Monegasque natural harbour plays then as the perfect stage for tenders to show off the best mega-yachts to attract loyal clients and new ones.   Although the difficulties of reaching the Principality from some red spots like Russia and United States, core Countries at the MYS , the general feeling was to have witnessed the first ‘renaissance’ of live attendees from all Europe.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ Generally speaking, when you are talking about crisis you refer to a tough situation; for us we can’t refer to a crisis of sales but we have recently suffered from production problems due to the severe lockdown and social distancing measures in UK where our crafts are still produced by human resources”, stressed Andrea Frabetti , one of the most skilled experts   in this field and Chief Executive Officer of the iconic brand Sunseeker International Limited from Dorset (UK), whose crafts featured in many James Bond movie series – “The demand side has considerably increased beyond all expectations as a possible consequence of the mental impact generated by the pandemic which pushed us to accept reservations until 2023, thus benefiting from an incredible sales boom in Cannes and Southampton, start-of-the-season Shows.   Results never seen in nearly fifty-year corporate history”.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ Monaco Yacht Show is undoubtedly addressed to highly motivated customers in perfect harmony with our innovative and high-quality products with a view to eco-tech that needs more governmental incentives anyway, preferring purchases to charter” – “The reason is quite clear doing some math: on an average sale of 7-million-euro yacht, you would be required to pay 40,000 / 50,000 euro per week for charter use”, Andrea Frabetti added. “The possibility to access to affordable vessels in nice places like Croatia will be pivotal in making new generations closer to the world of sailing which, later on, will be fueling also the luxury sector ”, he emphasized.

And what about the spectacular Sailing Yachts , new entry in this 2021 edition of MYS?

“ We have had a great interest in our products for the whole pandemic period considering that a sailing boat like ‘Path’ (44.60 meters) is addressed to an experienced shipowners who appreciates long-distance performance, user-friendly technology and quality as well as a floating way to work at distance in Covid-19 new era when you are seeking for more relaxing places in direct contact with nature”, stressed Elisabet Holm , Head Marketing at Baltic Yachts (Finland). And speaking about high-tech, a wide range of toys, tenders, equipment and devices were on display at MYS 2021.

Monaco Yacht Show 2021

“ We are offering a selection of light and handy submarines specifically conceived by in-house engineering to allow you to discover the deep sea while cruising on superyachts; so, Monaco represents a pretty big market for us and a great opportunity to meet ship-owners ”, stated Roy Heijdra , Marketing Manager at U-Boat Worx , historical Dutch company in scuba diving.
