ACE yacht interior

The ACE yacht was closely influenced by the requirements of Yuriy Kosiuk to be a family-orientated yacht.

With his guidance, Winch Design took the unconventional designs of the owner to create an interior that aimed at having a good time with family and making life onboard work better.

To achieve this, the traditional layout of a superyacht was reorganized.

Several changes were made, including placing the owner’s suite facing aft and not upfront, allowing the owner privacy and panoramic views of the ocean.

The crew deck was built on the main deck, with sliding doors on the side deck to give them air, create happy working conditions, and attract the best crew.

The interior includes ten guests in 5 rooms and accommodation for 30 crew. The interior reflects a contemporary grand hotel with a light and fresh feel.

There is a Roman villa-inspired spa on the lower deck, a Russian tearoom, and a nightclub on the upper deck.

The main deck has a gym, and cinema and is large compared to the owner’s deck to allow more space for family fun.

The exterior features unique sweeping arches that appear wave-like on the haunches of the superstructure.

The superstructure is aluminum, and the hull is steel. ACE is a Lürssen construction designed by Winch Design.

The exterior reflects a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. The arches on the ACE yacht are meant to show the “fantastic power of a wave,” reflecting the passion and enthusiasm of the owner. ACE has several toys to aid in the fun of the family and the guests.

With a length of 87m(285.4ft), the ACE yacht displaces 2732GT. The boat has a beam of 4.5m(47.6ft) and a draft of 3.75m(12.3ft).

Her 2 MTU engines give her a top speed of 16.5kn and a cruising speed of 14kn. The yacht has a range of 6500nm.

The boat features Quantum XT Zero stabilizers that afford a comfortable experience aboard ACE. She was built to Lloyd’s 100A1 specifications. The boat was built in 2012 and refitted in 2018.

Billionaire superyachts cast a shadow over Barcelona's traditional barrios

The world's largest private yacht looms over the old port of Barcelona – its six-deck, 163m profile offering proof of the love of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for a city he will visit again this week as his football team, Chelsea, tries to secure a place in the Champions League final.

But the superyacht, equipped with its own mini-submarine and anti-paparazzi shield, is a symbol of what neighbours in the traditional fishermen's neighbourhood of La Barceloneta fear will bring about the demise of one of the few city centre barrios to have maintained its traditional working-class character. Old Barcelona is under threat. A British private investment fund has taken control of much of the port area and has asked for an extended licence so that it can turn the Marina Port Vell into the Mediterranean's prime home for superyachts. Sources close to the group said it wanted the licence to run until 2036.

The Mayfair-based Salamanca Group intends to make the marina home to yachts up to 180 metres long, bringing the planet's growing club of mega-rich to a marina that it says "dominates the heart of Barcelona". But Barceloneta residents say the boats will dwarf the neighbourhood's famously narrow, four- or five-storey blocks of flats, where working-class families live in tiny homes and colourful outdoor washing lines leave the neighbourhood's laundry on public display.

"I've lived here all my life and the barrio has a special identity, precisely because so many working-class people have always lived here," said 68-year-old pensioner Antonio García, of the L'Ostia neighbourhood group. "But this will price us out, turning the port into a place only for the very rich and changing things for ever."

Neighbours fear that a huge wall may go up around part of the port to ensure the privacy of a handful of wealthy people, creating a fortress-like billionaires' ghetto on their doorstep. Protesters have already taken to Barceloneta's narrow streets, demanding that speculators be kept away from an area renowned for its cheap seafood restaurants and proximity to Barcelona's colourful urban beach.

"This will make it even more touristy and will see us expelled from our own barrio. We want it as it has always been, a real community of working-class people with roots right here," said García.

Most of Barcelona's fishing fleet disappeared years ago, but the area also had factories and most people worked in manufacturing. Barceloneta was also a centre of popular culture, with the city's own version of the rumba dance emerging here. The rundown area was partially redeveloped, along with the old port, for the 1992 Olympics, but it survived the gentrification of other parts of the old town. "The flats here are too small for the wealthier people from around Europe who have moved into other parts of the city," explained García. "That has saved us so far, but now people are buying them up to rent out as holiday apartments."

Salamanca took over the marina in 2010. The company is run by founder Martin Bellamy, a former army officer. Last year it claimed that work on the marina would be completed this autumn. But a city hall spokeswoman said that only after Salamanca had received an extended licence from the Spanish government would Barcelona's authorities be able to review the project and decide whether to hand out its own permits. "This will have a landscape impact on Barcelona and so will have to be studied closely," said Rosa Díaz. "The city hall approves in principle of a large investment that might generate jobs and bring wealth, but it is not going to allow them to do whatever they like. And, of course, it will consult the neighbours."

Salamanca's Barcelona outpost declined to give figures for the amount of money it wants to invest. Nor would it respond publicly to the concerns of people in La Barceloneta.

Locals say some smaller boat owners, including those who live on their boats, are already being told they must leave the marina. A source close to Salamanca said this was because repair work had already started. Boat owners were being offered berths at cut-rate prices in nearby marinas, as well as a place on the waiting list to get back once work was finished.

Among possible solutions for multi-millionaires seeking privacy were temporary screens covering a glass or metal fence around part of the marina.

The huge project comes as Barcelona seeks to shed its reputation for cheap, drunken, stag-party tourism, with a recent law cracking down on street prostitutes in places such as the Las Ramblas boulevard.

Abramovich has denied rumours that he is a shareholder in a Barcelona refit and repair yard, MB92, that lies beside the marina and also plans to expand its facilities for superyachts.

The Marina Port Vell is not the only modernisation project in town. Barcelona is also competing with Madrid for the Eurovegas complex, a vast collection of hotels, casinos and conference centres that the Las Vegas-based gambling billionaire Sheldon Adelson wants to build in Spain .

Candace Owens Says She 'Cannot Be Silenced' After Daily Wire Exit

C andace Owens has declared that she "cannot be silenced," following the announcement that she has been fired from her role at the Daily Wire.

"Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship," Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing wrote in a post shared on X, formerly Twitter , on Friday morning.

Owens reposted the statement on her own X account shortly after it was shared.

While Boreing did not elaborate on the move, it has been widely documented in the months since the Israel-Hamas war began that Owens was at loggerheads with the Daily Wire's editor emeritus Ben Shapiro over their opposing points of view on the conflict .

A source close to Owens exclusively shared with Newsweek that the conservative commentator is set to speak out on the matter as she prepares to continue her work on a platform of her own.

"Candace will be speaking soon," the source told Newsweek . "Anyone who knows Candace knows Candace has a voice that cannot be silenced."

On Friday, Owens took to her X account to share her own website link as she confirmed the news that she had parted ways with the Daily Wire.

"The rumors are true—I am finally free," she wrote, before directing her followers to her website and posting another link for those wishing to share donations via the Revv platform. "There will be many announcements in the weeks to come."

Sharing another link in a follow-up X post, Owens wrote: "This is my personal YouTube page that I will be bringing the show back to after a brief hiatus.

"Please take a moment to subscribe to this new channel. Love to all."

Newsweek has contacted representatives of Owens and the Daily Wire via email for comment.

Owens has faced criticism from a number of her fellow conservatives after speaking out against Israel amid its war with Hamas . Israel launched its latest war on Gaza after Hamas' October 7 surprise infiltration attack, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 253 taken back into the Strip as hostages. Around 100 remain unaccounted for, along with the bodies of 32 captives believed to have already died.

The subsequent assault on Gaza has killed at least 31,819 Palestinians, per data from the Strip's health ministry cited by the Associated Press. Another 435 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli security forces and settlers in the West Bank since October 7, per Associated Press figures.

Swaths of Gaza have been razed, and the vast majority of its 2.3 million residents forced to flee their homes. Scant humanitarian aid has been delivered into the Strip despite growing international pressure on Israel to facilitate more, with the United Nations and NGOs warning that famine is imminent.

Roughly a week into the Israel-Hamas conflict, Owens fought with conservative journalist Megyn Kelly on X, wrangling over whether college students protesting for Palestinians should be "blacklisted."

In a November 6 episode of her Candace Owens Podcast titled "Am I Anti-Semitic?" Owens sat down with Jewish comedian Ami Kozak to discuss the conflict, and again drew criticism for asserting during the conversation that there are "Muslim quarters" that dictate where Muslim citizens are allowed to live in Jerusalem.

"I grew up in my grandparents' house, my grandfather grew up in a segregated South, and so when I'm walking through Jerusalem, and you see, and they say, 'These are the Muslim quarters, this is where the Muslims are allowed to live,' that doesn't feel like a bastion of freedom to me," Owens said during her show.

Kozak countered Owens' statement by explaining that while there are ethnic communities within the city of Jerusalem, there are no specific quarters that "legally" dictate where Muslim citizens can live. Jerusalem's Old City has four quarters—Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Armenian—and each neighborhood represents the ethnic group of most of the people who live there, according to the Jewish Virtual Library.

In November, a clip emerged on social media showing Shapiro, who is Jewish, answering questions in front of a crowd. He described Owens' commentary on the conflict in Gaza as "disgraceful."

"The question is about Candace Owens ," Shapiro said in the video posted to X by user @LoomerLs. "I think her behavior during this has been disgraceful, without a doubt."

Shapiro's answer was met with applause from the audience, followed by his acknowledgment that Owens "still works at my company."

"I think that her faux sophistication on these particular issues has been ridiculous," Shapiro added. "Everybody can see the moves that she's making and the things that she's saying, and I find them disreputable."

Owens addressed the comments during an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson that went live on X days later.

When Carlson asked Owens if she was able to contextualize Shapiro's comments, she responded: "There isn't much of a background. I saw the video when everybody else saw it, when I woke up. Nobody warned me about it.

"It looks like maybe he didn't know he was being recorded. It looks it was some sort of a private event. I got no clarity on the issue that he was particularly speaking on. And in what was said, I can't respond to it beyond what he's saying, because it's just ad hominem attacks."

"So I can't respond to it on a level of intellect, because there's nothing that he has expressed, at least in that short clip, that he fundamentally disagrees with in terms of what I said," she continued. "But I will say that I'm not gonna respond with [the] same ad hominem attacks. I don't think it helps further the discussion.

"If that was me that was caught on a video saying that about colleagues that I work with, I would be embarrassed. So I think the video speaks more to Ben's character than it speaks to mine."

When asked if Shapiro had contacted her to apologize or explain, Owens told Carlson: "No, nothing. I haven't heard a single word. It just was sort of something that he said."

Owens added that she and Shapiro "have many disagreements, so I don't think that that's particularly something that's interesting. We disagreed on the COVID vaccine, we disagree on Ukraine and Russia... Virtually every stance has been the opposite of mine on every issue over the last five years, so I don't think that that's particularly remarkable."

"I am totally open to people having a difference in opinion," she added. "I would hope that amongst colleagues that it would always be civil disagreement. I would never at a private event stand on a table and talk badly about Ben."

On Thursday, Owens spoke out on X after the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) shared a link to a Media Matters article. An accompanying caption read: "White supremacist & Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes is praising Candace Owens' vitriolic antisemitism. It's hardly surprising, but it does set off alarm bells: When bigoted people come together to push an antisemitic agenda, it adds fuel to the fire of hate."

Responding, Owens wrote: "I do not know Nick Fuentes, but you already know that. What I do know is that everyone can see what you guys are doing to me. Your pattern is well established and the world is waking up to it. My crime is having stood up for myself against your network of smears."

"My crime, is that I do not believe that American taxpayers should have to pay for Israel's wars or the wars of any other country," Owens continued. "I will not change my mind. So the question is what will you do to me next? The world is watching."

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht screamed 'I will kill you' and threw $100 bills into the water when told he couldn't use a private dock

• The owner of a Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee, per CBS8.
• The employee said Ajay Thakore mooned and threw cash at him after being told he couldn't use the dock.
• Thakore, the CEO of Doctor Multimedia, issued an apology through his public relations team.

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee after being told he couldn't be there, the San Diego-based broadcaster CBS8 reported on March 11.

Joseph Holt, a 21-year-old employee at Marriot Marina in San Diego, told CBS8 that he spotted the yacht sailing into the private dock. The owner, whom CBS8 identified as Ajay Thakore, tried to pick another person up at the dock, Holt said.

"I told him respectfully that he couldn't be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat," Holt told CBS8.

In a YouTube video posted by @SM-wc9eq on March 10, a dark blue Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is seen sailing out of a dock. A man in a gray T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a cap was shown standing on the yacht. The man appeared to be Thakore, per CBS8.

Thakore was shown shouting at Holt. "I will kill you, you know I will kill you!" he can be heard saying multiple times in the video

Thakore was later shown pounding his fist on his palm and pointing his thumb down before telling Holt: "To your face!" Holt was shown responding by pointing his middle finger at Thakore.

"I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird," Holt told CBS8.

Holt said Thakore then took $100 bills from his wallet and threw them at him. He added that Thakore mooned him. This exchange was not shown in the video.

"He was saying I'm nobody, I'm nothing, I work a silly job. He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it," Holt said. Holt did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

The San Diego Harbor Police arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore's yacht exited the dock, per CBS8.

The Harbor Police told Business Insider that Holt decided to press charges against Thakore and that they are investigating the incident.

According to Thakore's LinkedIn page , he's the CEO of Doctor Multimedia. The company's website shows that it's a healthcare marketing firm based in San Diego. Thakore appears to go by the name Ace Rogers on Instagram and TikTok, where he's noted as being a professional gambler.

Thakore, through his public relations team, told CBS8 in a statement that his altercation with Holt was "regrettable."

"What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange," the statement said. Thakore did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.

Thakore isn't the only CEO who's been called out for threatening another person. In November 2021, an Activision spokesperson told BI that its ex-CEO Bobby Kotick had previously apologized for telling his assistant he would have her killed. The spokesperson added that Kotick's threat was "obviously hyperbolic and inappropriate" and that "he deeply regrets the exaggeration and tone."

In June 2020, Lisa Alexander, the CEO of LaFace Skincare, a cosmetics company, apologized in a statement to the media after she had threatened to call the police on her neighbor for writing "Black Lives Matter" on his property. Alexander said in the apology that she was "disrespectful" and "should have minded my own business."

85m Lürssen yacht Eye (ex Ace) transformed after multi-year rebuild

The 85-metre Lürssen superyacht Eye (ex Ace ) has been photographed for the first time in the Port of Gibraltar following a multi-year rebuild that has left her unrecognisable.

The superyacht checked into refit repair yard MB92 in spring 2022, likely following her sale to a new owner. She was renamed Eye in January 2024 and emerged from the yard just last month. 

Details of the rebuild have been kept tightly under wraps, but recent sightings confirm a complete exterior overhaul – including the removal of her trademark superstructure arches and "eye" balconies.

Eye was delivered by the German yard in 2012. The yacht is known to accommodate 10 guests across five cabins, with each cabin decorated with different themes including Art Deco, classical, contemporary nautical and French Provençal. The master cabin sits on the main deck aft and benefits from a private terrace.

Onboard highlights include a cinema and a gym on the main deck, while a library with a fireplace, a piano and a games table can be found on the upper deck. However, the extent of the work done on Eye 's interiors is yet to be revealed.

This follows the 91.5-metre Oceanco Tranquility 's light refit at MB92 last year .

The three-month stint left her in good condition for the most recent summer charter season and included a number of cosmetic upgrades.
