New England Bass Boat

Built in Cape Cod in 2002, the design based on the famed New England MacKenzie Cuttyhunk Bass Boats, constructed using modern methods with cold molded mahogany sheathed in Kevlar and finished in Awlgrip paint systems. Imported into the UK by the current owner, fully certified to RCR standards. Steyr 164hp turbo charged inboard diesel gives 17 knots cruising speed for excellent fuel consumption, she uses only 0.8 litres/nautical mile. 2 berths under the foredeck makes for a nice sheltered space. Large open cockpit with high bulwarks, an excellent space for the family. SBS road trailer means she can be easily towed on the road, all up weight is less than 3 tons. A very elegant and unusual alternative to the very boring RIB or Boston Whaler, a superb boat for someone looking for a boat that stands out from the crowd and offers something a little bit special.

Cult US fast food chain launches new UK menu that’s making fans ‘horny’

In 2019, US fast food chain Popeyes broke the internet when it launched its iconic Chicken Sandwich.

Fans went so wild over the burger that just two weeks after its launch, the sandwich sold out across America. 

That very same Chicken Sandwich has been available in the UK since the chain opened in London in November 2021, and now it’s getting an exciting makeover — but you’ll have to be quick to try it.

From today (March 19), Popeyes fans will be able to get their hands on a limited-edition Buffalo Ranch version of the Chicken Sandwich for £6.99.

The new twist on the classic burger features a fried chicken fillet that has been marinated for 12 hours in Popeyes’ signature blend of herbs and spices and covered in the chain’s shatter-crunch coating, before being slathered with hot Buffalo sauce, cool Ranch and fresh pickles. Yum!

For those who may not know, Buffalo sauce is made using cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter, while Ranch is a dressing that typically combines mayonnaise, garlic, buttermilk, salt, as well as several other herbs and spices.

While this will be the first time the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich has been available in the UK, the menu item has previously been available to buy over in the States.

It launched in the US in 2022 and quickly garnered a number of fans, with reviews online hailing the chicken burger as ‘perfect’, ‘fire’, and some food lovers even going as far as to say that it made them ‘horny’. No judgement here.

Others thought it was similar to the Spicy Chicken Sandwich the chain already offers.

As well as the limited-edition sandwich, Popeyes customers can also buy two other new items from today, including Buffalo Saucin’ Wings and a Louisiana BBQ Wrap.

The wings are the classic chicken wings drizzled in a tangy Buffalo sauce which provides a ‘poppin’ kick of heat’, while the wrap features two chicken tenders, BBQ sauce, and smoked cheese, all wrapped in a tortilla. 

Dave Hoskins, head of food at Popeyes UK said: ‘We are excited to announce the launch of Popeyes Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich and Buffalo Saucin’ Wings.

‘This marks the first time sauced wings have appeared on Popeyes’ restaurant and drive-thru menus in the UK following their success with fans in the US — plus a spicy new take on our famous Chicken Sandwich, which features our iconic shatter-crunch chicken. 

‘Both the sandwich and wings are made with our in-house developed sauces, created by our team following fan requests for more Popeyes flavour combos. We’re confident that both new additions will get the nation’s taste buds poppin’ — and we can’t wait for people to try them.’

The new menu items can be purchased nationwide in all Popeyes restaurants, drive-thrus and via delivery apps such as Deliveroo.

What do the new Popeyes menu items taste like?

The team at Metro.co.uk tried the new menu items and were impressed with the food. Senior Social Video Journalist Zac Haniff tried the chicken wings and thought the Buffalo sauce was ‘delicious’.

‘It was spicy, had loads of flavour and the wings were juicy,’ he said. ‘My main note for improvement was that the sauce had made the wings go a little soggy. But I guess that’s unavoidable when you get a food delivery.’

Joy from the social team was also a fan, adding: ‘The wings were very tasty. I’m not normally a fan of Buffalo sauce but this was yum and I’ll definitely be ordering some again.’

As for the new sandwich, this prompted mixed reviews in the office.

Lifestyle reporter Eleanor Noyce thought the sandwich was ‘structurally sound’ and loved the chicken. She was also impressed that the Buffalo sauce wasn’t overwhelming, as she had been concerned it would overpower the rest of the flavours with spice, but it was more of a subtle kick.

However, deputy first-person and opinion editor Ross McCafferty didn’t think it was particularly ‘ground-breaking’, likening it to the Spicy Chicken Sandwich the chain already offers.

These launches follow the nation-wide rollout of the chain’s breakfast menu, which Metro recently tried and proclaimed was ‘even better’ than McDonald’s offering.

Highlights on the breakfast menu include the Big Cajun Breakfast Roll, the Cajun Hash Brown, and biscuits with Nutella — which are like a scone, but lighter and creamier thanks to the buttermilk they’re made with.

Lifestyle reporter Gregory Robinson dubbed the Cajun hash brown the ‘best hash brown [he’d] ever had’, while first-person and opinions editor Jess Austin gave it a 10/10 rating and claimed she could happily eat one every single day for the rest of her life.

Meanwhile, the Big Cajun Breakfast roll was deemed a must-try. Lifestyle reporter, and specialist food writer, Courtney Pochin added: ‘McDonald’s, I love you and your Breakfast Roll, but my foodie heart now officially belongs to another. I was already a big fan of the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, but this offering has well and truly tipped the scales in their favour.

‘The Cajun ketchup is what makes this really special. It adds unique flavour that you don’t get from any other fast food breakfast order. If you love a breakfast sandwich, you need to try this ASAP.’
