High build epoxy filler - 5kg - Yachtcare

Part № 150637

Description

High Build Epoxy Filler Yachtcare 5 kg is two component epoxy putty, easy to apply, instead of the traditional method of application of the sealant, High Build Epoxy Filler spreads with a nylon roller and is smoothed using a spatula or squeegee. Where once more primary layers and mastic were needed now is obtained by a single stroke of a roller with even layer thickness and an identical surfacing. T he epoxy does not lose volume after drying. The thickness of the wet layer is identical to that of the dry layer. High build epoxy fillers offers greater layer thickness and a greater protection than a standard primer. For a primer standard, it generally takes a shrinkage of about 50%. An application to High build epoxy roll provides a layer thickness of equal if not greater (up to 600 microns) equivalent to 7 - 8 manual application of a traditional bi - component primer. And the sealant can very quickly be covered with another layer, smoothed and sandpapered.

Italian Police Seize Russian Oligarch Andrey Melnichenko’s 468-Foot ‘Sailing Yacht A’

Russian oligarchs yachts continued to be seized

Italy’s finance police seized one of the world’s most iconic sailing yachts, owned by a Russian oligarch. Andrey Melnichenko’s Sailing Yacht A , with an estimated value of $578 million, was impounded in dry dock at the Port of Trieste, according to a statement from the Guardia di Finanzia. Melninchenko was sanctioned by the European Union on March 9 as part of a group of Russian oligarchs who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin following its Ukraine invasion to discuss the potential economic impact of EU and American sanctions.

Melnichenko owns the major fertilizer producer EuroChem Group and SUEK, a coal company. He also owns the 390-foot Motor Yacht A. A spokesperson said in a statement that Melnichenko has nothing to do with politics and that he has removed himself from the board of Eurochem and SUEK after the EU sanctioned him. “He has no relation to the tragic events in Ukraine. He has no political affiliations,” said the statement.

US intelligence officials have also said they are trying to link the Scheherazade , a $700 million superyacht in dry dock in Italy, to Putin. The New York Times reported that the US government has made no definite conclusions about the yacht’s ownership, but believe it could be owned by the Russian president. The yacht’s captain, Guy Bennett-Pearce, told the Times that Putin had no stake in the yacht, but declined to name the owner. Bennett-Pearce said he would provide Italian police with documents that divulged the owner’s name. The Italian Sea Group, which owns the shipyard where Scheherazade is dry docked, said that, based on “checks carried out by relevant authorities,” the yacht is “not attributable to the property of Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich was also added to the UK sanctions list days after he announced the sale of the football club. Abramovich, who owns a string of supercars and several private jets, also owns the superyachts Solaris and Eclipse. Solaris is reportedly sailing towards Israel, where Abramovich has dual citizenship.

On March 3, France’s finance ministry said that it had impounded Amore Vero , a yacht owned by Igor Sechin, CEO of Russian oil giant Rosneft. The EU had sanctioned Sechin earlier that week, calling him one of Putin’s “most trusted and closest advisors, as well as his personal friend.” German authorities also detained the 512-foot superyacht Dilbar in Hamburg, owned by Alisher Usmanov. Reports said the crew was fired last week. On March 5, Italian authorities impounded two yachts, Lena and Lady M , owned by Gennady Timchenko and Alexei Mordashov, respectively.

On Friday, the US State Department placed Viktor Vekselberg on its sanctions list. Two of Vekeselberg’s luxury assets, an Airbus A319-115 jet and his yacht Tango , were identified as “blocked property.”

Russian oligarchs yachts continue to be seized.

The seizures have prompted the superyacht industry to distance itself from the oligarchs. Italian yacht builders Sanlorenzo and Azimut both released statements that they have limited exposure to Russian clients, and none are on the sanctions list. Heesen Yachts released a statement that two Russians sitting on its supervisory board of directors have resigned their positions. The builder said Heesen is 100-percent Dutch-owned company and that Pavel Sukhoruchkin and Pavel Novoselov had nothing to do with its day-to-day operations.

Ownership of many Russian yachts is often hidden by shell companies in tax havens like the Cayman Islands. They are not only hard to trace, but actually seizing and selling them could present a legal quagmire that could take years to resolve.

Some are wondering whether seizing the oligarchs’ private yachts and jets will work. “Sanctions are another example of the West doing what it does best, which is just throwing a lot of cash at the problem and hoping it gets solved,” Olga Chyzh, a professor of political science at the University of Toronto, told the Washington Post. “However sad they are to let go of their Western assets, oligarchs have even more to lose if Putin is no longer there to protect them.”

In the meantime, some oligarchs are taking their yachts to destinations like the Maldives , the Seychelles and Dubai, which have no extradition treaties with the US and EU. Dubai has become a favorite destination for Russian tourism and wealth.

Alex Finley, a former CIA officer, has been tracking the yachts from Barcelona. Using the hashtag “Yacht Watch,” she posts updates on Twitter for Russian-owned superyachts.

“For me, the yachts are a big, easily recognizable symbol of the more serious side of this [Russian invasion]: These are people who support a dictator, and have been supporting him in carrying out destabilization operations against democracy, while at the same time coming here and taking all the benefits of the exact same democracies they were destabilizing,” Finley told the Washington Post.

The world's largest sailing yacht, Sailing Yacht A, has been seized by Italian authorities after its Russian owner was placed on a sanctions list

sailing yacht a seized

Italian authorities have seized the largest sail-assisted superyacht ever built, the 143m (470ft) Sailing Yacht A, Italian news outlets are reporting.

According to the Reuters news agency in Rome, the Italian prime minister’s office confirmed this morning (Saturday, March 12) that the yacht had been seized after owner, Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, was placed on an EU sanctions list following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Philippe Starck-designed  Sailing Yacht A is one of the most of the distinctive yachts ever built . At 143m (470ft) long it features eight decks, and a 20m freeboard.

The hull has a maximum beam of 24.8m and includes 24 shell doors

Sailing Yacht A has a beam of 24.8m and a 20m freeboard

It was built by Nobiskrug in Germany and launched in 2016. It carries three of the world’s largest carbon rigs, which are unstayed and rotating, with over 3,700 square metres of sails set via an in-boom furling system. It also features a gimballed crow’s nest, accessible by lift, 60m high in one of the curved masts, an observation pod embedded in the keel and a three-man submarine.

The hull has a maximum beam of 24.8m and includes 24 shell doors concealed within it.

It was built under strict non-disclosure agreements, but has been reported to have a price tag of around €530 million ($578 million).

The yacht is reported to have been sequestered at the northern port of Trieste, following sanctions imposed on its owner. Melnichenko owns the fertiliser producer EuroChem Group and coal company SUEK.

Several high profile superyachts belonging to Russian oligarchs have been seized across Europe in the past week, although this is the first sailing vessel of its kind to be impounded.

The $578 million megayacht owned by Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko was seized by Italy

  • Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko's yacht was seized Friday, Italian authorities said.
  • Sailing Yacht A is the world's largest sailing yacht at around 469 feet long and has eight decks.
  • Melnichenko was sanctioned by the European Union in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Insider Today

A megayacht belonging to Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko was seized by Italian authorities on Friday, CNN reported.

A statement from Italy's finance police said the yacht, known as SY A or Sailing Yacht A, was worth around 530 million euros, or $578 million, according to CNN. It also said the yacht was currently in storage in Trieste, Italy. Maritime tracking data viewed by Insider confirmed the location of the yacht in the Adriatic Sea.

Melnichenko is one of the billionaire oligarchs sanctioned by the European Union in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Melnichenko, who is worth $11 billion according to Forbes, founded fertilizer producer EuroChem Group and coal energy company SUEK.

In announcing its decision, the EU council said Melnichenko "belongs to the most influential circle of Russian businesspeople with close connections to the Russian Government." It also said he was among a group of 37 businesspeople who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other officials on February 24 to discuss the impact of potential sanctions.

"The fact that he was invited to attend this meeting shows that he is a member of the closest circle of Vladimir Putin and that he is supporting or implementing actions or policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as stability and security in Ukraine," the EU said, adding it also showed he is "providing a substantial source of revenue to the Government of Russia."

In a statement provided to Insider, a spokesperson for Melnichenko denied the EU's accusations about his connections to the war in Ukraine.

Related stories

"Andrey Melnichenko is an international self-made entrepreneur. He has no relation to the tragic events in Ukraine. He has no political affiliations. To draw a parallel between attending a meeting through membership in a business council, just as dozens of businesspeople from both Russia and Europe have done in the past, and undermining or threatening a country is absurd and nonsensical," the statement said.

"There is no justification whatsoever for placing him on the EU sanctions list. We will be disputing these baseless and unjustified sanctions, and believe that the rule of law and common sense will prevail," the statement continued.

The spokesperson also noted Melnichenko resigned as a member of the board and main beneficiary of both EuroChem Group  and SUEK this week, as the companies announced in separate statements on Thursday. He also said both companies are privately owned and not affiliated with any government, and that EuroChem Group is based in Switzerland.

Sailing Yacht A is the worlds largest sailing yacht at around 469 feet long, according to SuperYachtFan.com . It has 300-foot masts, eight decks, a swimming pool, and an underwater observation pod. It's one of several megayachts owned by Russian oligarchs that are subject to sanctions.

Some Russian oligarchs and billionaires have tried to escape sanctions by transporting their luxury yachts to places like Dubai, which has not enacted sanctions, and the Maldives, which does not have an extradition treaty with the US.

Countries are on the hunt for sanctioned Russian assets after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February. Thousands of Russians have since been sanctioned by the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, among others. Superyachts and multimillion-dollar properties have already been seized or frozen by authorities in Italy, France, Spain, the UK and Gibraltar. The United States has also launched KleptoCapture, a task force focused on those who violate sanctions and the seizing of their assets.

Germany has impounded the “Dilbar,” a superyacht connected to a Russian oligarch in Hamburg, the country’s embassy in the US tweeted . The yacht belongs to the sister of Alisher Usmanov and is worth between $600 to $750 million, according to the German Federal Criminal Police Office. Usmanov is one of Russia’s wealthiest billionaires with vast domestic and international holdings. The US government sanctioned him in early March in a campaign targeting Putin’s allies, stating Usmanov is alleged to have “financial ties” to Putin. In March, Italy’s financial police seized his real estate and assets worth about $90 million. Usmanov has also been sanctioned by the European Union.

The £443m superyacht owned by oligarch Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko seized in Italy

A Russian-owned superyacht valued at £443m has been confiscated by Italian police in the port of Trieste as part of a global crackdown on wealthy oligarchs.

The Sy A yacht is owned by billionaire Andrey Melnichenko, 50, who made a fortune in fertiliser production and coal.

The vessel was seized on Friday evening.

Designed by Philippe Starck and built by Nobiskrug in Germany, the vessel is the world's biggest sailing yacht at 143m in length.

Footage shows police cars approaching the triple-masted yacht and officers boarding it.

Italian authorities last week seized £120m in luxury yachts and villas belonging to Russian billionaires in picturesque retreats such as Sardinia, the Ligurian coast and Lake Como as part of sanctions against oligarchs linked to Vladimir Putin.

A statement from the Official Journal of the European Union described Melnichenko as belonging to the "most influential circle of Russian businesspeople with close connections to the Russian Government".

It added: "On 24 February 2022, in the aftermath of the initial stages of Russian aggression against Ukraine, Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, along with other 36 businesspeople, met with President Vladimir Putin and other members of the Russian government to discuss the impact of the course of action in the wake of Western sanctions.

"The fact that he was invited to attend this meeting shows that he is a member of the closest circle of Vladimir Putin and that he is supporting or implementing actions or policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as stability and security in Ukraine."

A spokesperson for Melnichenko said the businessman had "no relation to the tragic events in Ukraine and has no political affiliations".

"There is no justification whatsoever for placing him on the EU sanctions list.

"We will be disputing these baseless and unjustified sanctions, and believe that the rule of law and common sense will prevail."

A number of oligarchs have sought to move their superyachts to safe locations to avoid confiscation.

It comes after Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government .

The Chelsea Football Club owner is one of seven more Russian oligarchs who have had sanctions placed on them by ministers in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

A government document announcing the move said that Abramovich has had a "close relationship for decades" with Putin.

Andrey Melnichenko has become the latest victim of the new EU sanctions following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine after the seizure of his €530 million (AU$793 million) Sailing Yacht A off the Italian coast.

At approximately 143 metres, Sailing Yacht A is the world’s largest motor yacht; designed by Frenchman Phillippe Starck with a radical exterior that almost resembles a military ship or submarine (as opposed to your more “basic” megayacht).

Major Uralkali shareholder Dmitry Mazepin and former Haas F1 driver Nikita Mazepin have also been sanctioned by the British government. The family have been refused entry into the UK with the government freezing their UK-based assets.

Russian oligarch's yacht costs U.S. taxpayers close to $1 million a month

US-UKRAINE-RUSSIA-CONFLICT

A mega-yacht seized by U.S. authorities from a Russian oligarch is costing the government nearly $1 million a month to maintain, according to new court filings.

The U.S. Department of Justice is seeking permission to sell a 348-foot yacht called Amadea, which it seized in 2022, alleging that it was owned by sanctioned Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov. The government said it wants to sell the $230 million yacht due to the “excessive costs” of maintenance and crew, which it said could total $922,000 a month.

“It is excessive for taxpayers to pay nearly a million dollars per month to maintain the Amadea when these expenses could be reduced to zero through [a] sale,” according to a court filing by U.S. prosecutors on Friday.

The monthly charges for Amadea, which is now docked in San Diego, California, include $600,000 per month in running costs: $360,000 for the crew; $75,000 for fuel; and $165,000 for maintenance, waste removal, food and other expenses. They also include $144,000 in monthly pro-rata insurance costs and special charges including dry-docking fees, at $178,000, bringing the total to $922,000, according to the filings.

The battle over Amadea and the costs to the government highlight the financial and legal challenges of seizing and selling assets owned by Russian oligarchs after the country’s invasion of Ukraine. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said last week that the European Union should use profits from more than $200 billion of frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine’s war effort.

Her comments echoed government calls in the spring of 2022 to freeze the yachts, private jets and mansions of Russian billionaires in hopes of putting pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and raising money for the war effort.

Yet, nearly two years later, the legal process for proving ownership of the Russian assets and selling them has proven to be far more time-consuming and costly. In London, Russian billionaire Eugene Shvidler has waged a court battle over his private jets that were impounded, and Sergei Naumenko has been appealing the detention of his superyacht Phi.

The battle over Amadea began in April 2022, when it was seized in Fiji at the request of the U.S. government, according to the court filings.

Though the U.S. alleges that the yacht is owned by Kerimov, who made his fortune in mining, attorneys for Eduard Khudainatov, an ex-Rosneft CEO who has not been sanctioned, say he owns the yacht, and have sought to take back possession of the vessel.

In court filings, Khudainatov’s attorneys have objected to the U.S. government’s efforts to sell the yacht, saying a rushed sale could lead to a distressed sale price and that the maintenance costs are minor relative to the potential sale value.

Khudainatov’s attorneys refuse to pay the ongoing maintenance costs as long as the government pursues a sale and forfeiture. However, they say their client will reimburse the U.S. government for the more than $20 million already spent to maintain the yacht if it’s returned to its proper owner.

In court papers, the government says Kerimov disguised his ownership of Amadea through a series of shell companies and other owners. They say emails between crew members show Kerimov “was the beneficial owner of the yacht, irrespective of the titleholder of the vessel.”

The emails show that Kerimov and his family ordered several interior improvements of the yacht, including a new pizza oven and spa, and that between 2021 and 2022, when the boat was seized, “there were no guest trips on the Amadea that did not include either Kerimov or his family members,” according to the court filings.

The government also says Kerimov has been trying to sell Amadea for years, so a sale would be in keeping with his intent.

“This is not a situation in which a court would be ordering sale of a precious heirloom that a claimant desperately wishes to keep for sentimental reasons,” the government said in filings.

Even if Amadea were sold quickly, the proceeds wouldn’t automatically go to the government. Under law, the money would be held while Khudainatov and the government continue their battle in court over the ownership and forfeiture.

$300 Million Yacht of Sanctioned Russian Oligarch Suleiman Kerimov Seized by Fiji at Request of United States

Fijian law enforcement executed a seizure warrant freezing the Motor Yacht Amadea (the Amadea), a 348-foot luxury vessel owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov. Fijian law enforcement, with the support and assistance of the FBI, acted pursuant to a mutual legal assistance request from the U.S. Department of Justice following issuance of a seizure warrant from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, which found that the Amadea is subject to forfeiture based on probable cause of violations of U.S. law, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), money laundering and conspiracy.

The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated Kerimov as part of a group of Russian oligarchs who profit from the Russian government through corruption and its malign activity around the globe, including the occupation of Crimea. In sanctioning Kerimov, the Treasury Department also cited Kerimov as an official of the Government of the Russian Federation and a member of the Russian Federation Counsel.

According to court documents, Kerimov owned the Amadea after his designation. Additionally, Kerimov and those acting on his behalf and for his benefit caused U.S. dollar transactions to be routed through U.S. financial institutions for the support and maintenance of the Amadea.

“This ruling should make clear that there is no hiding place for the assets of individuals who violate U.S. laws. And there is no hiding place for the assets of criminals who enable the Russian regime,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “The Justice Department will be relentless in our efforts to hold accountable those who facilitate the death and destruction we are witnessing in Ukraine.”

“Last month, I warned that the department had its eyes on every yacht purchased with dirty money,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco. “This yacht seizure should tell every corrupt Russian oligarch that they cannot hide – not even in the remotest part of the world. We will use every means of enforcing the sanctions imposed in response to Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war in Ukraine.”

“This seizure demonstrates the FBI's persistence in pursuing sanctioned Russian oligarchs attempting to evade accountability for their role in jeopardizing our national security,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “The FBI, along with our international partners, will continue to seek out those individuals who contribute to the advancement of Russia’s malign activities and ensure they are brought to justice, regardless of where, or how, they attempt to hide.”

“This seizure of Suleiman Kerimov’s vessel, the Amadea, nearly 8,000 miles from Washington, D.C., symbolizes the reach of the Department of Justice as we continue to work with our global partners to disrupt the sense of impunity of those who have supported corruption and the suffering of so many,” said Director Andrew Adams of Task Force KleptoCapture. “This Task Force will continue to bring to bear every resource available in this unprecedented, multinational series of enforcement actions against the Russian regime and its enablers.”

“The U.S. Marshals Service will continue to contribute our expertise in support of Task Force efforts to take possession of seized assets of Russian oligarchs during these forfeiture operations,” said Director Ronald L. Davis of the U.S. Marshals Service.

law enforcement boarding a yacht

The seizure was coordinated through the Justice Department’s Task Force KleptoCapture, an interagency law enforcement task force dedicated to enforcing the sweeping sanctions, export controls, and economic countermeasures that the United States, along with its foreign allies and partners, has imposed in response to Russia’s unprovoked military invasion of Ukraine. Announced by the Attorney General on March 2 and run out of the Office of the Deputy Attorney General, the task force will continue to leverage all of the department’s tools and authorities to combat efforts to evade or undermine the collective actions taken by the U.S. government in response to Russian military aggression.

Upon receipt of a mutual legal assistance request from the United States, Fijian authorities executed the request, obtaining a domestic seizure warrant from a Fijian court.

The Amadea, International Maritime Organization number 1012531, is believed to be worth approximately $300 million or more. The yacht is now in Lautoka, Fiji.

This matter is being investigated by the FBI’s New York Field Office with assistance from the FBI Legal Attaché Office in Canberra, Australia, the Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, and the U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji.

Trial Attorney Andrew D. Beaty of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section and Trial Attorney Joshua L. Sohn of the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section are handling the seizure. The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Marshals Service provided significant assistance. The United States thanks the Fijian authorities for their cooperation in this matter.

Authorities ID boat operator who fatally struck 15-year-old Ella Adler

By CBS Miami Team

Updated on: May 15, 2024 / 6:46 PM EDT / CBS/CNN

MIAMI - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission identified the boat operator in connection to the death of 15-year-old Ella Adler, who was struck while water skiing in Biscayne Bay on Saturday.

Authorities say Carlos Guillermo Alonso, 78, of Coral Gables, was the boat's operator.

They say he was the only occupant of the vessel on that day, according to the one-page incident report.

FWC24ON0038760_updated-2 by sergio.candido on Scribd

The boat was discovered behind a home in the Hammocks Oaks neighborhood in Coral Gables. Neighbors described the man who lives in the home as a family man and an experienced boater. They said he was devastated by what happened.

Rodney Barreto, the Chairman of the FWC,  said this about Ella's death, "It's touched our community in a way."

"When you're 15 years old you don't expect to go out on a boat and not come home."

The new preliminary FWC report says she had been on a boat with 12 other people and was being towed while on a wakeboard.

Records show Alonso owns the house where the vessel was seized.

"The gentleman who was driving the boat who is cooperating with us is Mr. Alonso," said Barreto.

"We have some physical evidence that we have recovered that we have sent to our state lab for testing."

Barreto says officers used witness descriptions to find the boat.

"It was good old-fashioned police work by our officers.
We asked them to go up and down the canals from Coconut Grove to South Miami. They went up and down the canals with the physical description they had and recognized the boat."

Batteto said there was no evidence pointing to reckless or drunk driving.

It's not known if the driver will be cited or charged.

"Our job is to gather information and present it to the State Attorney, so they can do their job."

The loss of Ella Adler prompts this warning from Barreto: "Make sure you pay attention to the water and always look around because things can happen on the water and they can happen very quickly."

"We encourage people to use a lot of caution and go to boating safety schools."

"Florida has the most registered boats in the country and Miami-Dade has the most registered boats than any county in Florida."

Ella, the granddaughter of US Ambassador to Belgium Michael M. Adler, was water skiing with friends Saturday near the Nixon Beach sandbar when she fell in the water while being towed and was struck by another boat. The operator of that boat never stopped.

An all out search was then launched to find the boat and driver.

On Wednesday, Florida Fish and Wildlife believed they had found it.

"I am pleased to report that we have a vessel in custody that matches the description given by witnesses," said FWC's George Reynaud. "The boat is in our custody and the owner is cooperating with us."

On Monday morning, hundreds of people attended services for Adler at Temple Beth Sholom in Miami Beach.

On Tuesday, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden stopped by in person to offer her condolences and be with the family.

"We are honored that the First Lady paid a shiva call to our family during this time of immense pain. We are touched by their support and love and we are proud to call the President and First Lady our friends for over 40 years," according to a statement from the family.

Adler was a freshman at Ransom Everglades High School and a ballerina with the Miami City Ballet.

"We are heartbroken," Ransom Everglades posted on Facebook. "Ella Adler '27 shined in our classrooms and on our stages, and she embodied the mission of Ransom Everglades School. We wish peace and comfort to her family."

"We at Miami City Ballet and the Miami City Ballet School are utterly devastated by the heartbreaking news of this tragic accident," said the organization which described Adler as a beloved student and a magnificent dancer who graced their stage. "Our hearts go out to Ella's family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and adoring her. As we come together, we will profoundly grieve the loss of Ella, and hold dear the precious memories we were fortunate enough to create with her."

"We extend our deepest condolences to the Adler family at this difficult time," the US Embassy to Belgium said in a statement. "Out of respect for their privacy, we have nothing further."

Anyone who saw the accident or anyone who might have video footage or information about it is urged to call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922) or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).

Federal agents seize $4.6 million worth of cocaine off boat near Puerto Rico

  • Copy Link copied

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Federal authorities said Friday that they seized $4.6 million worth of cocaine and arrested two U.S. citizens aboard a boat in waters near Puerto Rico.

The boat was carrying more than 500 pounds (230 kilograms) of cocaine and was intercepted Thursday near Desecheo Island, located just west of the U.S. territory, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection

The arrests come after federal and local authorities said they caught a man trying to smuggle more than 350 pounds (158 kilograms) of cocaine on Tuesday through the island of Culebra, located east of Puerto Rico.

The U.S. territory is considered a transit point for drugs heading to the U.S. mainland and other countries.

what is ridge filler base coat

Ridge filler base coats are used to fill in ridges and create a smooth surface on nails. All nails naturally have some degree of ridging, but deep ridges can be felt when running a finger over the nail. Ridge fillers are formulated with tiny micro-particles, fillers, or protein fibres that settle in the lower grooved areas, making them level with the higher ridged areas to even out the surface of the nail. Ridge fillers are not permanent solutions and need to be reapplied, but they are effective in minimising the appearance and feel of ridges.

What You'll Learn

Ridge filler base coat is a cosmetic fix, it fills in the grooves between ridges, it is not a treatment, it is not a base coat, it can be used with or without nail polish.

Ridge filler base coats are a cosmetic solution to nail ridges, which are vertical lines that run down the length of the nail, creating an uneven surface. While everyone has some degree of ridging, deep ridges can be felt when running a finger over the nail.

Ridge filler base coats are formulated with tiny micro-particles, fillers, or protein fibres that settle in the lower grooved areas of the nail, making them level with the higher ridged areas to create a smooth surface. This can then provide a smoother canvas for nail polish.

It is important to note that ridge filler base coats are not a permanent solution and should not be considered a treatment. They are more like a temporary "band-aid", providing a cosmetic fix to improve the nail's appearance and create a more uniform nail plate.

When choosing a ridge filler base coat, look for options that also function as a base coat to prevent chipping and prolong polish wear-time. Some products also contain added strengthening ingredients such as biotin, calcium, and silica to improve nail health.

  • Olive & June Ridge Filler: This formula uses silica to fill in ridges and vitamin E to hydrate nails.
  • Essie Smooth-e Base Coat: A double-duty option that functions as a base coat while smoothing nail surface irregularities with ceramides.
  • Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler: This product effectively levels the nail surface with the help of silk protein fibres, filling in even the deepest ridges.
  • Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat: Contains micro-fine crystals and natural clays to fill in ridges, leaving nails with a glass-smooth appearance.

Nail ridge fillers are cosmetic products designed to improve the appearance of fingernails with ridges. Ridges are vertical lines that run down the length of the nail, creating an uneven surface. While everyone has some degree of ridging, deep ridges can be felt when running a finger over the nail.

Nail ridge fillers are formulated to settle in the lower grooved areas of the nail, making them level with the higher ridged areas to create a smooth surface. This process can be likened to grouting between tiles, where filling is added to gaps to create a level surface.

Nail ridge fillers are not permanent solutions and should not be considered treatments. They are more like band-aids that need to be reapplied. However, they are effective in minimising the appearance and feel of ridges.

When choosing a nail ridge filler, it is important to note that some products may also function as a base coat, helping to prolong polish wear time and prevent chipping. Additionally, some nail ridge fillers contain strengthening ingredients such as biotin, calcium, and silica, which can help to minimise ridging by improving nail strength.

It is also worth mentioning that while gradual nail ridging is a natural part of ageing, sudden or severe ridges may be a sign of underlying health issues, such as anemia or thyroid problems, and should be evaluated by a doctor.

Burlington Coat Factory: Designer Sunglasses Haven

Ridge filler base coats are not a treatment for nail ridges. While they can help to minimise the appearance of ridges, they do not address the underlying cause of the issue.

Nail ridges are a natural part of ageing. As the body ages, the cells that nails grow from also age, leading to changes in the nail over time. This can include the development of ridges. External factors such as excessive hand washing, acetone-based nail polish removers, and alcohol-based hand sanitisers can also contribute to nail dehydration, exacerbating the appearance of ridges.

While ridge filler base coats can temporarily mask the appearance of ridges, they do not provide a permanent solution. Additionally, it is important to note that ridge filler base coats are not the same as traditional base coats, which are designed to prolong polish wear time and prevent chipping. Unless a ridge filler base coat specifically states that it also works as a base coat, it is likely that it will not have these additional benefits.

It is also worth mentioning that buffing away ridges is not recommended, as it can weaken the nail. The grooves of the nail are where it is thinnest, so buffing will result in a thinner and weaker nail overall.

While ridge filler base coats can be a helpful cosmetic solution for minimising the appearance of nail ridges, they do not address the underlying cause and are not a permanent treatment.

Lapel Hole: A Sport Coat Mystery

Ridge filler base coats are not the same as traditional base coats. While traditional base coats are formulated to act as a primer for nail polish, providing a smooth canvas for the colour to adhere to, ridge fillers are designed to address a specific nail concern: ridges.

Ridges are vertical lines that run down the length of the nail, creating an uneven surface. They are a common issue, caused by a variety of factors including age, excessive hand washing, and the use of acetone-based nail polish removers. While ridges are a normal part of nail anatomy, they can be a cosmetic concern for some. This is where ridge filler base coats come in.

Ridge filler base coats are formulated with tiny micro-particles, fillers, or protein fibres that settle into the grooves between ridges, creating a smooth and even nail surface. They are designed to cosmetically improve the appearance of nails with ridges, rather than providing a base for nail polish. In fact, some ridge fillers can affect the way polish looks, depending on the colour you paint over it, so they always need to be covered with a coloured polish. They are not designed to be worn alone or used for French manicures.

While ridge fillers can be an effective solution for disguising the appearance of ridges, it's important to note that they are not a treatment for this common nail concern. Ridge fillers simply create a smooth surface by filling in the grooves, but they do not address the underlying cause of ridges or improve nail health. Additionally, ridge fillers may not be as durable as traditional base coats, and may chip or wear off within a few days.

In summary, ridge filler base coats are specialised products designed to address a specific nail concern. They are not a replacement for traditional base coats, and they do not provide the same benefits in terms of nail polish adhesion and durability. If you are looking to disguise the appearance of ridges on your nails, a ridge filler base coat may be a good option. However, if you are seeking a product to improve nail health or enhance the durability of your manicure, a traditional base coat may be more suitable.

Brown Pants, What Color Sport Coat?

Ridge filler base coats are used to fill and smooth unsightly nail ridges, which can be caused by dehydration, and create an even nail surface. Ridge fillers can be used with or without nail polish.

If you are planning on applying nail polish, you should opt for a ridge filler that also works as a base coat, or plan to apply a base coat over the ridge filler before adding colour. Some ridge fillers can be used as a base coat, but unless the product specifically says so, it is unlikely to be able to prevent chipping or prolong polish wear-time.

If you are not planning on applying nail polish, you can use the ridge filler on its own for a natural, healthy nail look. Ridge fillers that contain strengthening ingredients such as biotin, calcium, and silica can be particularly good for this purpose, as they can help to minimise ridging by making your nails stronger.

A ridge filler base coat is a cosmetic product designed to fill in ridges and create a smooth surface on nails. It is typically applied as a base coat before nail polish to create an even canvas for manicures.

Ridge filler base coats contain tiny micro-particles, fillers, or protein fibres that settle into the grooves of the nail, making them level with the higher ridges. This creates a smooth and even surface for nail polish application.

Ridge filler base coats can help improve the appearance of nails by creating a smooth and uniform surface. They can also help prolong the duration of manicures and make nails look healthier and more presentable. Additionally, some ridge fillers contain strengthening ingredients such as biotin, calcium, and silica, which can help reduce nail brittleness.
